Stanley Padgett     THE PLACE: The Grandview Plaza Hotel, downtown Lampport. Today is the Bachallaurate Luncheon for the senior class of Silver Springs Union High School. Or at least most of the class. The kids who couldn't afford the tickets to get here weren't here, or the ones who weren't guaranteed to graduate. Those who couldn't secure caps and gowns... you get the idea.

The place is the usual wine and cheese shindig, though the wine isn't here on account of the kids all being underage, there are plenty of Fancy Party Nibblits, and snobby affairs going on. Plenty of community leaders and speakers. All very formal and fancy.

Whereas prom is there for the students to mingle with students... this is a chance for those students to mingle with future bosses and fellow up-and-coming Young Professionals.
Stanley feels decidedly out of place here. He's got his cap and gown on, there's appropriate flair on said cap including some soda caps from his Weird Beverages, some stickers from The Reversal, and so on. He does NOT have an honors society cord to go with his gown though. He's graduating, of course, but his grades weren't THAT good.

The Fool is currently fidgeting with his phone with one hand, while balancing a plate of miniature ham and olive sandwiches on his lap, and also halfway paying attention to the speaker up at the front of the room.

Kukuru and select members of the Concord have already gotten their invites as well. This is the sort of place that... well. People like money and the Concord has it.
Charlotte Newman     A big event where rich and well-to-do students get a moment to mingle and make connections with rich and well-to-do movers and shakers of Lampport. The Place to hobnob with snobs, as it were. Charlotte is here, currently listening to but not particularly engaged with a pair of adults nattering on about a crypto business to a group of fellow students.

Given Charlotte usually spends time at school with a particular group, almost none of them are actually here. Those kinds of girls tend to chase the sports and band clubs, not grades. She barely knows anyone at this shindig.

In a moment where the presenting adults aren't paying much attention, she slips away into the crowd in search of the handful of faces she actually recognizes.

A few minutes later, Charlotte sort of-- extrudes from the crowd and seats herself one chair away from Stanley's left side, letting out a sigh, "Hard to believe it's already here, huh?" Her voice is low as she glances stageward, "Who are these losers? I hope the valedictorian speaks soon. I'm planning on leaving after that."
Isaac Beaufort This was an event that his dad made a big deal out of, he had to be here, he had to rub elbows with the city's elites, and he had to finally be separate from those who weren't in the upper crust.  Isaac didn't like this concept, the idea that people were separated by only wealth, instead of ability, talent, and drive.

What happened at this event was enough to really make him frown.  So, he used his El Dorado Black Card to right a wrong he felt was happening there.  Every student who wasn't able to get into the event found themselves capable of being able to both buy a ticket AND their cap and gown.

The influx of people would happen as things opened up, but right now, Isaac is sitting nearby Stanley in his own gown and eating a sandwich he managed to make out of the stuff they had here.  "I don't mind skipping out myself, this thing is far drier than I expected.." he says, though it's hard to tell if he meant his sandwich or the event itself.
Kukuru Somehow, some way, Kukuru actually has a nice outfit to wear! It's probably not too surprising that she has at least one of those ready for occasions like this, actually, since the Concord salary and professionalism do necessitate some degree of actually having her shit together. Her hair's actually been straightened out for the evening, nearly reaching the ground instead of just being bunched up around her waist from sleeping on it like it usually is, and her usual outfit has been swapped out with a somehow even more flattering sleeveless dress in white with sequins and a knee-high slit on one side that shows off plenty of hose-covered leg and large heels that help offset any balance problems she'd probably have with wearing heels.

Just because she looks nice doesn't mean she Kukuru's eating a fair bit, of course, and the bangles are sliding all over the place when she does. She's mingling with the older community leaders at this party, chatting them up cheerfully and extolling the virtues of investing in the future (the kids, that is) (not weird isolationists).

Eventually, though, she spots several familiar faces, and she hurries on over to join the group of Personers with a pleasantly cheerful wave. "He-llo, everyone! Oh, I'm so glad to see you all ready to graduate... It feels like yesterday when I first saw all of you starting your classes here."

She sounds like she's about to cry tears of happiness. On one hand, she's genuinely happy. On the other hand, she definitely wasn't around for any of their first days of class.
Angela Tiffany, Agent of the TRAINING department, has been assigned to assist Kukuru. A couple other agents are with her. Lobotomy Corp (specifically Manager X), after learning of Kukuru's immense healing capabilities, decidided that the Training Department would be ideal to place with any missions surrounding Kukuru since the effects of incompetence and inexperience are less likely to be as pronounced.

Tiffany is a young woman with long brown hair, wearing a suit and an orange armband with the letter H on it. There's a couple of other Agents with her that will be described in more detail next round! However...

Tiffany is smoking a joint. Her hands shake as she breathes it in. Her eyes trail briefly towards Isaac but she stays close to Kukuru ofr now. Fortunately, the basic uniform of an Agent is pretty useful in blending into a semi-fancy event such as this. She probably comes across as scruffy security more than a scruffy student, even with the smoking.

She looks to Kukuru as she's waving cheerfully and seems so ahppy to see them graduate. And she sounds like she's about to cry...

Such genuine joy and happiness is strange for her to see. She doesn't see that stuff much anymore.

"You've known these kids for that long? What're they like? The kids here, I mean. You sound really proud."

She takes in another pull of what she's smoking but waves the wisps of smoke away with her hand.
Stanley Padgett     There's some chattering around the fact that Agent Tiffany is smoking indoors at a function but uh... she's with Kukuru and no one wants to upset her or the others. Money talks, after all.

Stanley, for his part, shoves half of his sandwich in his face as he starts talking. It makes it hard for anything coherent to make it out to the others for a moment or two until he swallows. "-and it's just a pain, honestly. I had to listen to the uhhhhh... I think he's the assistant mayor? Talk about the future of Lampport and how it's a shame that things turned out how they did but that he's sure that things will be better for me once I'm out of schools and-" He makes a face. "Just wish I could have gotten a word in edgewise about NovaSoft and the Reversal but like... no one wants to listen about it. ...Actually that's kinda weird."

He looks around again. Out of all the outfits that have set up booths and food and nibblets and stuff... NovaSoft isn't one of them. "You'd think they'd be here for something like this?"
Stanley leans on Kukuru, and then looks to Tiffany. "They're the ones we're sure are behind all the Wishes and stuff going on here in Lampport."
Charlotte Newman     When students not on the Honor Roll start filling up the venue, Charlotte takes a moment to realize where they came from. She shoots Isaac a knowing, sidelong grin of approval. Anything to stick it to the Terrible Adults around here is OK in her book. Kukuru ambles over and the girl wiggles her finger in a wave, "Hello miss Kukuru. You seem happy today." Closing her eyes for a moment, she adds, "And a wonderful dress, too." Eyes opening again, she shifts her attention to Tiffany and her cohorts, "Who are your friends? More people from the Concord?"

Her feelings on the Concord as a whole are... mixed. She's really only had positive interactions with Concord members, so far. But the faction's standing as a whole and certain events in the past year have made her wary of meeting new people.

    It's Complicated.

Charlotte latches on to Stanley changing the subject, "Maybe they've got people here but no booth. I wouldn't be surprised." The girl shrugs, "Or maybe they're not hiring right now. If their 'enemies' are teenagers from the high school, it'd be awkward if they accidentally hired one, right?"

Her gaze shifts to the stage for a moment, followed by another shrug, "The crypto guys are a menace, by the way. We can tackle that mess after Nova."
Isaac Beaufort Isaac looks at Kukuru a little oddly, but he isn't about to break her emersion, she's too nice...if very odd.  Shaking his head with a smile he leans back in his chair a little as he watches more and more kids that /shouldn't/ be here, become here instead of where the rich people think they should be.

He gives Tiffany a smile, sensing her nervousness, especially with what she was smoking.  "Nice to meet you, I'm Isaac.  You're welcome to take a seat and everything," he continues, "From Lobotomy Corp, right?" he asks, trying to make conversation.

To Charlotte, he thinks, "No, I think that'd be too obvious not to do.  In fact, it'd make sense if they tried to ensnare teenagers in their web instead of ostracize them," odd, he doesn't see his father here.  He looks around again, he should have been out of his meeting by now.

"Unless there is some sort of plan they have..."
Kukuru "Mhm! It's not every day you get to see your kids graduating, you know?" Kukuru answers Charlotte with a bright smile, giving her a little curtsey after that comment about the dress. "Thank you~ Oh, mhm. This is..."

She forgot Tiffany's name, but at least she remembers the company name! ".. One of my friends from the Lombomy Corporation." She pauses, then repeats "Lobotomy" after Isaac says it properly. With the Concord, mhm! Don't worry, they're some of the good ones."

Reassurances given, she turns to Tiffany and at her eye with a piece of bread and nearly puts a napkin in her mouth before swapping them around. "Hm? Oh,uh... Well, not thaaaat long, but pretty long! It's been almost a year now, I think." She explains with a pleasant chuckle, looking back towards the graduates. "But they've grown a lot since I first met them. I just hope they don't get into too much trouble if they start going out alone unsupervised..."

Looking like she's about to tear up again, Kukuru instead dabs at her face with the napkin before reaching under her dress to pull out... Little envelopes! Charlotte and Stanley both get them, but Isaac notably doesn't. "In case you ever change your minds, or if you ever need to find proper work with someone you trust."

That's probably why she didn't give Isaac one: It's applications for joining the Concord. Kukuru's referral stamp is already on them. It smells a little like cinnamon coffee cake.

Stanley's comment about NovaSoft has Kukuru pausing in her eating/celebrating, though, pursing her lips while looking over at all the fancy old people and booths again. "It's good they're not here, right? That makes it easier to celebrate without having to fight~"
Angela Tiffany would immediately claim it's a medical necessity for her. IS that true? Well, she'd claim it. She listens to Stanley--tensing as he leans against her--but she seems to know them so that tension flows out of her shoulders really quickly. The agents of Lobotomy Corp are always a step away from going on the offensive in defense of their company and, arguably, their capital. Even ones like Tiffany.

OHNO is the other agent on site. She is dressed similarly to Tiffany but has a bright green mohawk and an earring in her right ear. She has a pair of earbuds in her ears and doesn't have her riot stick at the ready, instead sort of tapping at her leg to some melody onl she can hear.

Neither of them have any idea what's going on here but Tiffany is at least paying attention.

"Bap bap badababee doop dap." OHNO sings along, bobbing her head.)]

"Singularity out of conrol?" Tiffany asks. "They'll guard something like that with their lives and nobody wants to get involved in anything resembling a patent war. Life is cheaper than wishes."

Tiffany isn't sure that's quite what they're getting at but she is kind of baked and hoping that reality will conform with her understanding after being in this world for like two hours.

Tiffany lowers the joint as Isaac approaches. #-1 INVALID ANSI DEFINITION: +208 "Yeah, that's right. I think... Rook's team ran into you a couple times? Name's Tiffany. How're you involved in this?"

"Bababadoop dap deep doodah." OHNO adds, offering Kukuru the horns in approval but otherwise not saying anything resembling actual words.

Tiffany says, "Well you have to face the music eventually. That's just the world we live in."

Tiffany takes another breath in. She's starting to stabilize. It's good. It's nice.
Stanley Padgett     Stanley frowns at Tiffany, but doesn't disagree with her. "We've already seen how fiercely they've been protecting those wishes... if only we could figure out how and where and what..." He wilts a bit, as his phone starts to beep beep beep. Actually, so do Issac and Charloette's phones. It's the familiar (to some) push notifications from The Reversal game. Someone's trying to get everyone's attention.

It's a message from UNKNOWN. QUEST: help

    FRIEND REQUEST: its happening now

ACHIEVEMENT: its ready and i cant stop it

And heading up to the main stage now, is one Francis Smithering. Formerly of TradeItNow, not that anyone HERE knows him by that business. No no no. He's the... uhhh, well he's always been on the Chamber's board.

"As I look out into this sea of students, these fresh faces, these future entrepreneurs and leaders, I see hope for the future. I see hope for Lampport. Much like I see hope in the face of your class Valedictorian... Angela Sanders!" Smithering starts clapping, his slightly rumpled silver gown fluttering as a very well-coiffed young lady carrying a prepared statement clambers up to the lectern.

Charlotte Newman     Charlotte beams a big smile to Kukuru, "Well, you look very elegant. I never realized your hair was so long..!" When graduation comes up, she self-consciously fiddles with the tassle on her mortarboard, welcoming a change in subject.

"Nice to meet you miss Tiffany," she offers, "If you're a friend of miss Kukuru's, I'm willing to trust you." 'for now' goes unsaid, "I'm Charlotte." OHNO's method of speaking gets a glance, then back to Tiffany when she seems to translate it. She feels like she's seen a movie with a similar dynamic, but with robots.

Closing her eyes, she hums at Isaac's statement, "I guess... Only if they thought they could be controlled, though. Otherwise it'd be a huge risk." Her phone goes off, prompting a gasp. Didn't she mute it? Wait, that tone--

Quickly, she retrieves the device from her clutch, checking the push notification. She glances towards Stanley and Isaac, then to the stage, "Wait, what?"
Isaac Beaufort "Yeah, Rook did.  And...I live here?  Well not /here/ in this hotel, but Lampport is my home.  This ceremony is also for me, believe it or not," he says with a warm smile.  "And I'm involved in this the same way Stanley and Charlotte are.  I have a head ghost that can help defeat twisted wish monsters."

Isaac sees Smithering, and his eyes narrow.  The friendly teen going defensive and unhappy at one man's presence should speak to the quality of Smithering's personality.  What's worse is he was picked to introduce the valedictorian.

This is coordinated with the push notifications.  "The problem is, that they know our faces, they potentially know who isn't one of us.." he says, his words nearly stuck in his throat.  "Kukuru...try and distract them.  You two," he says towards the Lobocorp people, "Come with me," he says and goes to sneak off...

Specifically to open a portal into the reversal they can enter.  Something has to be happening on that side to cause those kinds of notifications...maybe.
Kukuru OHNO is another unfamiliar one whose name Kukuru doesn't know, but that won't stop her from turning to the Agent with her usual gentle smile and raising her hand in an affirming thumbs up. She gets confused by the horns, just kind of wriggling her hand around a bit to mimic it without realy knowing whati t means. Kukuru's trying, at least!

Tiffany talking about patents, in comparsion, gets a completely clueless look from her instead of trying to play along.

"No? Oh, it's a real pain to get it this way, though. And I'll have to wash it a lot once it's time to go home, but... Wanna touch it?" She offers to Charlotte, leaning in a bit and only briefly wilting at realizing that doing so is letting her hair touch the ground. It's even softer than usual, though!

"Hmmn. If they're protecting them that bad, then it'd be easier to see them doing it, right? Like that time with-" Kukuru pauses, then strokes her chin. "I mean, we know a few of them by name, at least?" She's clearly trying not to say 'Stanley's dad', but the look on her face as she turns away from Stanley totally suggests it super hard.

Seeing those phones popping out is a bit of a relief, at least, even if it doesn't register in her mind that something's off just yet. Isaac gives her something to work with, though, and Kukuru breaks into another smile as the go ahead to do something distracting is given. "O-kaaay. Be careful in there."

And with that, Kukuru considers how to best cause a distraction. Presumably, she should still be able to show her face without raising alarms just yet, so just stomping on stage is a no go. But if someone else was to stomp around...

She can try to be a little sneaky about it at least. Moving towards the stage to join everyone else listening to Angela (student, not Lob Corp) speak, she finds the largest group within like twenty feet of where she was to just kind of hover around them. When it feels like all eyes are on the stage, it's time to subtly shove a buttload of nanites into someone to make them grow in the most literal sense: No clothes tearing, no discomfort, just embiggening a person rather quickly.

As long as nobody notices the glow of her nanites moments before that happens, she's good.
Angela Tiffany wishes he disagreed with her in a way. The dangerous thing about other worlds is that even if you expect it to not be too different from your own world, you do get that little bit of hope. Only to see that the same DNA exists in them as well. Maybe it is easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism but that doesn't mean capitalism would end with the end of the world either.

"Ah, thank you." Tiffany says, looking uneasy at even that level of trust. Being trusted means you can dissapoint them. When Charlotte seems confused at OHNO's method of communication. "Ah, that's a ... story." She looks back to Stanley as the phone goes off but she doesn't try to peek. Instead she gauges by his reaction.

And then she looks up to the stage. Another Angela. She grimaces.

"Bababada deedadoodadadeeda, Wababababadadadeee doodadadooda," OHNO tells Charlotte.

Tiffany glances over to Isaac. He has a...headghost?

"A headghost..." A whisper emanates from OHNO's earbuds. "You better do as he suggests..."

"Dabadadeedoo." OHNO follows after Isaac.

"Ah that's OHNO," Tiffany asides to Kukuru. She seems a little uneasy about going into a mysterious portal she doesn't know too much about even if Hod is saying to do so. Especially since--is Kukuru coming along? She feels a lot safer around Kukuru. There are stories about Kukuru amongst the general Lobotomy Corp staff right now about how she can save an Agent, turn them giant. She saved Ya-boy and everybody likes Ya-boy.

But Kukuru is causing a distraction instead.

...And embiggening someone ELSE instead.

OKay, Tiffany thinks, maybe I will go into the mysterious probably deadly portal instead of seeing what the end result of THAT is going to be.

They'll follow after Isaac, hesitantly enough.
Stanley Padgett     THE REVERSAL: Isaac peels himself and several others through to the Other Side, and the group goes Sliding Sideways Through Reality. It's distinctly different from Gate Travel, because this is moving directly to the same place you left, just... somewhere else.

The other side of the Grandview Plaza Hotel is a obsidian and agate edifice, a grand neon dream to the idea of hospitality, gilded with mercury and argon. A massive wash of whispy xenon shades mills about here too, but there's something else here. Someone Else. Lurching around the mass of human souls is a tall man in a tweed suit. But it's the Negative of a man in a tweed suit. The colors are wrong. The head is wrong. It's a simple glass globe filled with orange gasses, and a digital face is projected on the inside.

The man is carrying a golden apple.

    THE REAL:

Smithering takes a seat as Angela gets started with her speech, but not before leaving a recorder up on the lectern. Angela fiddles with it, smiles, and starts her speech. "I gotta say this has all been a little harrowing the last two weeks. I've been giving lots of speeches, and talking with a lot of people. I guess that's sort of the job though, being picked to lead the class, lead... all of you into the future." She smiles. It's a brilliant, tired smile, the smile of someone who's been in too many extracurriculars, too many honors classes. Too many futures.

Kukuru sneaks out and over to that small crowd, and starts embiggening a student.

This is Reggie Anderson. He's on the track team. He's not supposed to be here, honestly. The track team is garbage, but he's technically got his varsity letter. He's also got one of Isaac's tickets.
He's also suddenly 10 feet tall. The pack of runners gasps, as does most of the room.

Angela stammers a bit, and tries to finish her notes. "R-Reggie, you can't... can't..." But no, it's too late and she's got the giggles. The laughs. The yips. "Oh... oh god, ahahaahaha." She bends over and starts laughing. "God ow ow ow, I've been smiling too much lately and this isn't helping, Reggie, please!"

Stanley is shifting in place, dusting off his gown, and then tearing strips in the sides. He might need to move here.
Isaac Beaufort Isaac appears on the other side in what looks like to be a fluorescent knight's armor.  He doesn't have a sword or anything, because he isn't /that/ kind of knight, but it's some sort of strange new age and neon-city-like armor.

He holds up a hand for the others, "That's one of the monsters of this side, it's connected with that guy on stage that introduced the valedictorian.  I have no idea what that apple is, but I don't think it's good."

"We have to get that apple at whatever cost because I have a bad feeling about what that man's going to do with it.  Wishes can change the world dramatically, and usually not in good ways for the people living there...they're corrupted or something.  Not sure, but this guy, in particular, is a sleaze bag."

"If you want to head back I won't stop you, Charlotte and Stanley should be coming through, but if you stay here I'll protect you.  Either way.." he says, and he takes a stance.

Seconds later, the Kid is a blur of light, immediately in the Tweed man's face aiming to immediately smack him in the face with a piece of the gate he ripped off.
Kukuru Although Kukuru can't verbally encourage Tiffany any further, she can give the Agent (and OHNO, too) a knowing wink, as though everything will be okay! Probably.

If nothing else, at least it's unlikely anyone on this side will get hurt by anything. Kukuru lets out a satisfied sigh when it appears Isaac and the Agents are able to get into the Reversal without issue, but her work here isn't done! Maybe? She's not actually sure. It sounds like everyone sans herself and Stanley have their hands full over there with an apple, though, so she just has to focus on this side for now and trust in their abilities!

That means trying not to cry initially at Angela's speech. Or the start of the speech, anyway, since it's interrupted by Kukuru doing her decoy thing to someone called Reggie.Backing away quickly to get a better look at the track star(?), she feigns a surprised noise while 'accidentally' backing up into another group of students.

She's watched enough movies to know not to just do it too quickly, though, since that might make her the prime suspect! Instead, she just keeps moving through the crowd, eventually stopping at one of the booths. More targets, more enlarging.

Kukuru doesn't actually know what she's covering for at this point. She's just glad to be helpful.
Charlotte Newman     It's no surprise that Team Captain Isaac takes charge of the situation immediately. Charlotte nods once at his suggested strategy. When the noise erupts from Reggie growing so much taller, the girl nearly joins her classmate in laughter, choking it back to some giggles, "She can do that..? Oh, jeez..!" She glances towards Stanley, then scoots out of her row and into a side hallway opposite the way Isaac had gone.

It takes a bit for her laughter to finally fade away enough to swipe across her phone and tear open a glitch-riddled hole in reality in the back of an alcove, out of sight. Hopping through to the Other Side, she lands lightly-- already transitioned out of her graduation gown and into the Trendy Girl outfit she so often wears here.

It's not as flashy as a Neon Swordsman or the Tron Knight, but it works for her.

Gingerly, pressed against the obsidian wall, Charlotte switches her phone to the Camera app and leans that around the corner. A picture is taken to be uploaded-- but then she uses the nondescript shape of her phone to watch what's going on and wait for the right moment. Her other hand, now clutching her bat, holds out in case Stanley comes up behind her.

Gotta wait for Isaac and the LoboCorp team to create an opening.
Angela "That," Tiffany says, shuddering, taking another long pull of her joint. It's not having the effect she wants anymore. "Is definitely an abnormality."

"Brrrabababa badadee dodadooda..."

"And they mentioned... They might have Ego Weapons at their disposal. This is a good opportunity...to see what you can learn from experts... I believe in you o-okay?"

Tiffany grimaces because Hod's encouragement sounds like she's doing her best, sure, but that she's not exactly confident in her assessment.

Tiffany finally takes a look at Isaac and her eyes widen. And she whispers, "I don't know about EGO weapons but that's definitely EGO Armor..."

And it's some real wild looking shit. Nevertheless, she has enough werewithal to listen to Isaac's words. She grimaces at the offer and admits, nervously. "I'd love to go back but if I did, something tells me we'd be in the blast radius anyway."

Lobotomy Corp might not have brought EGO gear with them today, but they have the power... OF TEAMWORK...all the same. Tiffany goes in low for the strange man in the tweed suit, swinging her riot stick at his legs--

--while OHNO goes straight for the golden apple--not even going for a swing of the weapon at all but intending to SNATCH the apple as she runs by while the strange Negative Tweed man is hopefully busy with all the other problems heading his way.

"Babaadadab da bow!"
Stanley Padgett     THE REVERSAL:

The Tweed Man shivers in place as Isaac catapults himself directly into his face. The glass bowl rattles in place, the digitized face shuddering with rage. "HELLO, ISAAC. It's so GOOD to see you here. I see you brought MORE PEOPLE than you needed." A sneer on The Man's face, as Tweed's greedy grip is wrenched... OHNO goes for the Apple, and gets a hand on it, before six other hands suddenly prize back at the apple. The Tweed Man has sprouted more hands, and they quickly tuck the apple away like a rugby ball. No. No no no you don't get to touch this. No one gets this. Not now! Not today. This belongs to ME. It's MINE." He twists unnaturally, spinelessly like the Shadow that he is, as he slips into and through the mists of unrealized Humanity, two more hands gripping at OHNO and dragging the Agent against the ground, scraping her bodily in a wild swing, trying to hurl the Lobotomy Agent into the mists. This time... This time, Mr. Beaufort, you and yours get to WATCH. You could have just joined us. YOU COULD HAVE. Joined... ME. The words are no longer just in English though. They're also older. Much older, as the Tweed Man's speech rattles around in that bowl, ancient thoughts and dreams bubbling up and trying to fill the minds of the others.
Thoughts of your favorite purchases. Your most treasured items. How nice it is to have something you love and appreciate. Something tangible to hold and admire.

    THE REAL:

Now it's just Stanley and Kukuru on this side. And another massive student.

This is Debra Cherry. She's going to be a phlebotomist. Hopefully. She's already going to classes at the technical college to get her CNA too.
She's now also 10 feet tall, as Kukuru slips past. It's less funny this time, and now there are concerned noises in the crowd, and murmurs as eyes turn to Stanley. Is he doing something? Is he going to fix this? Is this something that can be fixed?

On stage, Mr. Smithering stands up again, and sighs. "Angela, let's wrap this up, something's going on."
The pretty blonde sighs, and seems to be flipping through her notes, getting to the end. "...So yes! Everyone, let's... let's just be our best these next few days, we're almost done with class. I really wish everyone could see the truth in their own hearts, and let that guide them into the future. We're all in this together, folks!"
Stanley Padgett     I really wish everyone could see the truth in their own hearts.

I really wish everyone could see the truth in their own hearts

I really wish everyone could see the truth in their own hearts
Stanley Padgett     THE REVERSAL:

I really wish everyone could see the truth in their own hearts

None of you have been on this side when a Wish Happened. Well guess what.

The Golden Apple implodes with a sickening *thwop* of anti-existance.

And the Obsidian and Agate edifices of The Reversal suddenly are Not There. Instead, there's a blissful expansion of meadows and plains and fields and olive trees and in the center of this new realm, stands the Oracle of Delphi.

All of the shades are screaming.

    THE REAL:

All of the students, all of the everyone, everyone who is not immune to mind altering or reality altering mojo is suddenly keenly aware of their own personal kismet and karma. Their own truth, whatever that means, is being smashed around the inside of their brains.
Angela Tiffany's riot stick bangs against the Tweed Man's leg for minimal damage but it was just supposed to be a distraction. The real goal is for OHNO to--

Oh no...

OHNO grins as she gets her hand on the apple. She starts to squeeze at it before--

--six other hands appear and snatch the Apple away. A look of horror appears on Tiffany's face as those hands then seize up OHNO--

--drag her across the stone ground, leaving a bloody smear and then send her flying into the mists.

"S..shit...! She had Hod's terminal...!" Tiffany says. Her Sanity Point gauge is at about half now and draining fast as she sinks to her knees. No Ego Gear means no resilience to these thoughts pushing into her.

Tiffany remembers...

She never had much hope for life, even as a NEST denizen. She thought maybe if she went to work for a Wing her life could matter but it didn't turn out that way. It turns out that even a company like L Corp is just the same as any other Wing, right? How many times...

How many times has she wished for death?

"Get out get out shut up shut up shut up...!" Tiffany grabs at her head, curling up on the floor.

The scream of shades overpower her own.

And in the mists...

who... whose thoughts...

you want me to...

So many wishes...can we... play music together?

Within the mists, and approaching slowly... but unseen.

"Babadee...doo dadadeelie, dadada...badadoo dadadawow..."

Step. Step. Closer. The sound of a riot stick scraaaping across the stone floor.

Until the stone floor is a foreset and the scraping noise vanishes outside of a faint thumping.
Kukuru Thankfully, this is totally fixable! It'll wear off in a few minutes with the recipients of Kukuru's nanites feeling no worse than they did before. If anything, they might even feel a little better thanks to the healing power of said nanites! It just might be a little hard to notice at first, what with the suddenly big likely being easier to notice in general.

Better yet, she's got a picture from Charlotte to work with to back up the Reversal crew with now! All she needs to do is find a good opportunity to slip away with Stanley and then... Oh. Everyone's staring at Stanley. That's not good.

She's also suddenly thinking about... Well, a lot of things. At all, even. The body count she's racked up over her years of existing, her time as a member of the Concord? Actually, that doesn't bother her too much. She's actually fully okay with all of that stuff, even, since the Concord's always been right, and they've always been her family. She trusts her family, just as much as she knows they trust her.

The truth she sees is something she's known about for a while now, too, even if she's had her doubts before. What if she's not good enough to do it? What if there's resistance? She already knows she isn't strong enough to do it all, and she's encountered plenty of resistance already. Seeing it in front of her, though, is more than enough to renew her vigor, and to bring a brighter smile to her face even while everything else goes on around her.

Kukuru's job is to push her family into a better future. Her job is to bring more people into her family. Any obstacles to that are just temporary, including whatever this is. All she needs is the power to break through all of them. Despite what everyone else hearing the speech might be feeling, she starts clapping.
Isaac Beaufort Isaac growls, barely held off by the Tyrant, but he wasn't trying to hold him or beat him, but distract him.  However...

The.
    Wish.
        Is.
             Made.

Isaac barely has a moment to respond to so many things happening at once.  The screaming shadows, OHNO being thrown off.  Tiffany is dropped to the ground.  He moves quickly, the larger frame of the sport ball player first aiming to grab Tiffany, and then running through the fog.  Using his body to cover her as he runs for OHNO next.

This place was dangerous, and neither of them could be here with the walls literally crumbling down.  Once he finds OHNO, he grabs them in his other arm, and leaps back out, aiming to rush for the solid parts of the Reversal again.  He charges through, even as his own body bleeds from the blows weathered.

He knows his destiny and karma now.  "Charlotte, portal!  Please!  We need to get them out of here, and the last place I want to be is on this side as this settles out!" he calls out, heading for her.
Charlotte Newman     Watching through her phone's camera, Charlotte waits for a good opening in the struggle between LoboCorp, Isaac, and the Tweed Man. She finds that opening and breaks out of cover-- just as everything changes. The girl stumbles to a stop suddenly in meadow grass, bewildered.

The shades, in their gaseous innocence, start screaming. Letting out a shout of her own, Charlotte flinches, covering her ears for all the good that does. Once it's clear that doesn't help much, she grimaces. One hand drops, the other shifts from her ear to her face with an "Ugh.." sort of noise.

Flashes of things she doesn't recognize. Things she does. That place Stanley took her once. The wild-eyed man who lived there. A place she'd only visited the one time, and yet-- Her hand lowers a bit. Where's the woman? There was an assistant there, and that she had a gut-wrenching experience. She... this... isn't...

Shaking her head the girl shifts focus to Now, with the meadow and the screaming consciousness representations and the bubble-headed Tweed Man. Charlotte wrenches her hand from her face, thrusting it down and shouting at the tops of her lungs, panic in her tone, "--GET OUT!!"

Galatea the Living Statue twists out of the girl's silhouette, but receives no command. The girl seems to be having some sort of lockup, her shoulders shaking. It takes Isaac's voice to drag at her attention, red eyes distantly recognizing him rushing her way. Behind her, Galatea reaches down, gently stroking her cheek and chin with one hand.

    .. .- -- - .... --- ..-

Quite suddenly Charlotte starts, then jolts back to reality (such as it is). The distant emptiness flushes out of her gaze, "--Uh..!" It takes a second to realize she still has her phone, clutched in one hand so tightly her knuckles have turned white and the case has left impressions on the insides of her fingers and palm. Fumbling, she taps at it, then swipes the screen to tear open a fresh portal out of the Reverse and back into the Real.

Isaac might be running, but Charlotte just sort of--stumbles and falls through, landing in a heap on the other side.
Angela Tiffany can readily be seized up by Isaac as she fumbles into her pocket, drawing out a needle filled with green fluid that she injects into her arm. She goes limp shortly after, dropping the remains of the injector onto the ground.

Isaac however is going to run into a problem when he tries to rescue OHNO namely that OHNO...

...is grinning manically when Isaac finds her, one earbud dangling free as she takes a swing with the riot stick for Isaac Beaufort's chin.

He's going to have to do some maneuvering if he wants to get her out quickly--or just tank the swings in the process.
Isaac Beaufort Isaac just weathers the blows from OHNO, being built like a brickhouse made out of smaller brickhouses, and a regeneration factor thanks to his Persona. Thankfully, he can do this even while carrying a very happy beaty person.
Stanley Padgett     THE REAL:

It's not going well over here either. But Stanley Padgett isn't screaming, he isn't yelling... he's just sad. His shoulders slump, and he rolls his neck...

Because on the stage, Angela Perkins is wide eyed and scared, looking mightily confused at everything that's going on, as Mr. Smithering stomps over, and snags her by the wrist. "...Come on, Ms. Sanders, we'll get you somewhere safe and sound." The reedy looking mad is likewise not flinching at things, though there's a horrible glow behind his eyes. Perhaps he's come to terms with his Truth?

"Mr. Smithering, no, there's something wrong, I can't just-" Angie Sanders yanks her wrist away, and there's a flare of energy in the air, and the Valedictorian suddenly blasts Smithering with a blast of... some energy. A psychic wave ripples from the girl and bowls the businessman over. "Oh! I'm sorry!"

Stanley takes a breath, and opens up his own portal to the Reversal, giving the others another way out, before rushing up to interpose himself between Angie and anyone else who's going to step up.
Isaac Beaufort Isaac, lets Tiffany down gently, near Stanley and Charlotte.  He also holds OHNO up by the scruff of her neck and hands her off to Kukuru, he hopes she has something for OHNO so that she doesn't require violence to fix.  However, he turns his eye to the stage as Smithering attempts to grab the valedictorian and drag her off.

Not less than a second later, he's there, with that bar from the other side, and swinging it with enough force to crack bone and send him through at least one wall.  "Fine, we can handle things on this side if you want, Smithering.  But you're not going to kidnap anyone while I'm around," he says, aiming to interpose himself between Angela and Smithering.

"So you can do this the easy way or the hard way.  Right now I have authority provided me by the Concord, and you do not.  Everyone watched you just try and kidnap a girl while drugging the audience with something, and my word weighs more than yours."

He brings the bar around again.  "Your choice, Smithering.  Either way, you lose."
Kukuru The valedictorian has powers! And OHNO is freaking out. Without missing a beat, Kukuru leverages her own mind altering abilities as she approaches the rambling Agent, arms held out to try and get her in a firm* hold. "Shshshsh. You're okay, you're okay. Everything's alright. You're here with us, okay?" She semi-whispers sweetly, not so much forcing the thoughts into the Agent's (and anyone nearby's) mind so much as just kind of passively suggesting that anyone near her is safe as long as they stick with Kukuru.

"You'll be okay, too, Angie! Your speech and your wish were beautiful." She calls out to try and reassure her, smiling brightly again even while her hands work on OHNO's scalp, with or without getting hit in the face herself with that bat. She holds one hand out to invite her over, and as for Smithering...

She'll leave that to the kids unles they really need a more heavy-handed approach.

*It's really firm. It's not body-crushingly firm, but definitely an absurd level of firm for someone as gentle as Kukuru would otherwise seem**.
**When she's not tearing people in half.
Charlotte Newman     Charlotte remains on the floor for a moment, covering her head with both hands and muddling through distorted thoughts and faded images. Nothing makes sense. These memories tainted with fond nostalgia-- for that place? It's almost disgusting.

Sucking in a shuddering breath, the girl tightens her fingers within her own hair for a moment, then lets it out as an unsteady sigh, forcing as much of it out of her thoughts as she can manage. Uneasily, at last, Charlotte gets back to her feet, circling around to the other side of the stage. She grabs one of the hotel's nice wooden chairs as she gets up there, upending it and grasping the leg with both hands.

With one foot she kicks the bottom of the seat, snapping the chair leg free. She checks the balance on it, then places herself between Smithering and his other avenue of escape-- opposite of where Isaac is standing.

"I'm not with the Concord," she admits, her voice unsteady, "...But..." She makes an effort to straighten her posture, planting her feet and raising the chair leg to point, "...I won't let you mess with my classmates..!"
Stanley Padgett     Smithering sneers at Isaac, adjusts his tie, and huffs. "No one here has seen anything of the sort, dear Mr. Beaufort. They're all too busy thinking very hard about themselves. I have to admit... Miss Sanders didn't read the wish I was expecting her to. That wasn't in the script. Still."

"It'll be nice to work with the people who know you well, who employ your family, Miss Sanders." The words spill from Smithering's mouth and they're still... tinged with that ancient call of commerce, of the roadside vendor. Dreams of roasted meats and delicacies and all you have to do is hand over your coins... "Come with me, Angie-"

There's another little screech from Angela, and she stomps a foot and EVERYONE has to save vs. Dex/Str or be knocked prone. Several of you don't have to even check that. She puts a hole in the stage and her foot gets stuck, and she staggers and falls... And Smithering uses the distraction to flick open one of those horrible yellow portals to the Reversal, the foul Tyrant energy rippling as he literally dissolves into Shadows to try and sneak past everyone.
Angela There's a problem. OHNO doesn't feel like she's in danger. She does feel like she's safe. She just wants to know what sounds Kukuru's ribcage will make when she runs her 'drumstick' against them. That's the flavor of madness that has taken her. But with a bit

Fortunately, Tiffany subdued herself even if she's not going to be too much help. She smiles vacantly as Isaac makes his move to body Smithering. She approves of this. She approves of a lot of things right now but she especially approves of this.

She is already on the floor but that isn't going to stop her from vaguely taking out her sidearm (it's just a pistol) and trying to shoot Smithering, smiling vacantly all the while. She's not going for a kill shot, just anything to hurt the guy.

Hod speaks up to Kukuru, "Oh no, I'm so sorry." Hod's voice comes through the earbuds but is attached to another datapad like device where a woman with long brown hair with an ahoge frets. "We didn't expect any trouble so we didn't send them out with any EGO gear so they didn't have any defenses..."

Fortunately Kukuru's work eventually gets OHNO to drop the bat as she starts to think of Kukuru as just another lady of the band.

Within Lobotomy Corp, the legend of Kukuru shall grow.
Kukuru Kukuru doesn't need to roll, but that's less because she's braced for any kind of impact and more because she's not prepared whatsoever. A Dex build she is not, and Kukuru's strength mostly just lies in exerting her own force rather than withstanding it, anyway. Nevertheless, when she falls, she makes sure to cradle OHNO protectively to protect her from any possible imapct from the fall, but her eyes are still on the ball! Somehow.

Caught flat footed, she eventually turns over in time to stare at where Angela and Smithering are, noticing the former getting stuck and the latter getting ready to leave.

Calm as she is with her own truth being revealed to her, though, Kukuru's not actually moving a lot. She's busy trying to console OHNO and anyone else that comes her way, but that portal... She focuses her vision right on it, trying to see past it, to see if she can see what's on the other side of all of that, to see if there's anything even remotely identifiable in there.

With any luck, she might be able to identify a way into that spot of the reversal without lifting a finger.
Stanley Padgett     Kukuru can see... the Elysian Fields. If she knows any of her Greek mythology, that's what's being built on the Reversal side.
Charlotte Newman     Angela stomps and everything goes sideways for a second, or at least feels like it. With a shout of surprise, Charlotte loses her footing and hits the wooden stage floor flat on her back, losing her wind in the impact.

With a groan, she rolls onto her side, pushing herself back to her feet, "Angela, please..!" her voice comes out in a breathless gasp, "Whose side are you on..!?"

As she centers herself and gets her wind back, the girl glances at Isaac, then towards Kukuru, before settling her attention on the nasty portal left by Smithering. Taking a breath, she lets it out slowly, steeling her nerves and raising the chair leg she'd claimed to rest it in the opposing hand.
Stanley Padgett     Stanley Padgett has one response to Smithering trying to escape.

Stanley's saber materializes in his hand, and he 'helps' Smithering along with a rather boisterous "GARULA!" THe sudden burst of wind dissipates the Shadows slightly longer than they need to be, so it takes longer for the Tyrant to slip through his hell portal.

And then the place is quiet.

Quiet, save for the weeping and gnashing of teeth of the senior class of Silver Springs Union High School.
This is going to be awkward tomorrow.
