Luna      What a peaceful night, indeed. And lovely, if Luna does say so herself. And with someone (she knows not who) accepting her invitation, Luna is now standing at the gates to the city of Everfree awaiting the appearance of this mystery guest. Of course, this is not the Equestria that Ainsley might be used to. The area immediately around the city is clear of trees, but there is a thick tree line not far from the city. And from that forest animal calls can be heard. Howls of wolves, cries of owls, and every now and then an unholy-sounding growl or roar.

Still, even with the calls of the wilderness, the town itself is indeed quite peaceful. Within the walls most ponies are sleeping soundly, confident in the thick walls of the city. The only ponies awake other than Luna herself are guards and those ponies who's jobs are done at night, such as lamp lighters or inn keepers.

Luna's mane and tail flow gently in the night breeze as she waits, a gentle smile on her face.
Ainsley     Ainsley strides down the road at an easygoing pace. If it is a night to appreciate the stars, being in a rush is inappropriate. The night is quiet, it is flowing, it is careful... and only swift when it needs to be. The odd thing about her steps is how light they seem as she approaches the gates, and Luna. Like she is light as a feather, appropriate to how she is half covered in feathers.

She clasps her hands behind her back and smiles at Luna. "My name is Ainsley. I'm a scholar," she introduces in a soft voice, "And a sorceress."

Appropriate, because she is emiting a constant aura of magic in a way few creatures do.

"Reminds me a little of where I grew up, the sounds this place makes..." she tells Luna, looking off into the wilderness with those gemstone-like eyes.
Luna      The stars twinkle like diamonds as Ainsley looks up at them, and few clouds can be seen. The wind is cool and gentle, and the air is a nice combination of cool and crisp.

Luna blinks in surprise as she sees Ainsley, then giggles softly before smiling. "Forgive me. I was expecting a human." she says, then she bows politely and spreads her wings in a cordial manner. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Ainsley. I am Luna. Please, come into the city." she says, and the guards open the gate as if on queue.

"You grew up in a city in the middle of an untamed wilderness?" Luna asks in curiousity as they walk through the gates. Luna takes a moment to look Ainsley over, then asks, "Are you some sort of dragon-human hybrid?"

Inside the walls, most of the buildings are wooden. New ones are being built of stone, but it is slow going with their fairly primative building techniques. The two buildings directly inside the gates are inns. One is the Sunnyside Stable, and the other is the Starlight Inn. Luna, naturally, walks toward the Starlight Inn.
Ainsley     Ainsley regards Luna with amusement at the surprise. Since there's nothing to forgive, she doesn't offer much acknowledgement to the reaction beyond that. The lizard woman finds herself slowly meandering along next to Luna, doing a quick curtsey so the formalities are out of the way.

Once in the city, she nods some in thought to Luna's questions... Her answer is in a gentle voice, a Spanish accent. "I was raised in a town in the middle of a jungle. This town was guarded by soldiers who were tempered to discard emotion. The sounds I heard were those of beasts who would gobble me up should the guards fail to keep them at bay." She puffs up her feathers for a moment.

"I will be frank, Luna: I have no idea what I am supposed to be. I have been told I am not even part human any longer. 'Quetzal' is what I could describe myself as... some sort of feathered serpent person that is, perhaps, similar to a dragon." She then hovers off the ground by a couple inches, and gestures at her feet. "A dragon without wings." She lands and resumes walking. "This is a recent development. I'm sorry I can't give you a better answer."
Luna      Luna just smiles softly after the explanation. "How many of us know what we truly are?" she asks, waving a hoof dismissively as Ainsley says she has no idea what she is. She giggles softly at the description of the stories from Ainsley's home. "Well, I am sure there, as here, the monsters were quite real. That is what these walls are for." Luna says as the gates close behind them. "Would you care for food or drink? Or should we simply wander the city? It is a bit lonely at night, but having a friend to tour the city with would shake that feeling."

The feeling of magic from Ainsley intrigues Luna, but the feeling of loneliness from Luna might intrigue Ainsley as well.
