Owner Pose
Petra Soroka     As always, sleep comes, and is immediately interrupted by Meloetta's morning routine, disorganized bubbly scatting emanating from the statue like speakers before her announcements. The Mystery Dungeon's safe room is as it was when the Elites left; with Tinkaton snoring while cuddling his hammer, Ceruledge sleeping with his arms crossed leaning against the cavern wall, Duosion's body curled up inside of his gel like a cat, and Spinda sprawled out on the ground. The soft glow of the Meloetta Statue's light illuminates the room just enough to get by, packing up and preparing for the last leg of the dungeon.

For Sougo, the trip to the Pokemon world is a little different. Rather than instantaneous like a dreamless sleep, sleep brings Sougo to a hazy green void between worlds, ephemeral and weightless as if his eyes are only blearily half-open. The voice-- Celebi, he now knows-- chatters without a visible source, seemingly unaware he's semi-conscious.

Celebi: "............."
Celebi: "I continue to be surprised that any of you want to return."
Celebi: "It was selfish of me, to bring you here at all."
Celebi: "And I had worried..."
Celebi: "................."
Celebi: "This isn't your home."
Celebi: "You have no reason to care about us."
Celebi: "Compared to the Otherworld... we're so small."

Sougo can feel his feeble grasp on consciousness wavering, as Celebi carries him through the dreamlike space. Words dip into incomprehensibility as the world dims, drawing him back into unconsciousness with a soothing hum.

Celebi: ".................."
Celebi: "... But you're still here."
Celebi: "D y after day."
Celebi: "Ev n t oug I'm aski g so, so much from yo ."
Celebi: "The c pa ty to gi e so mu h t t e who an't gi e n thing in re urn..."
Celebi: "Per ap w  chi g y u   ll let m f el th t way aga n so  day."
Celebi: " hop J   chi an b  iev    t t o..."
Petra Soroka     Morning preparations are chipper as always. Even with the wor-orld in danger, nothing is so serious that it demands haste, or sternness, and it's hard to imagine any of these Pokemon even holding themselves to that kind of gravity. Ceruledge sleeps through Meloetta's performance, tiny purple flames swelling in the corners of his closed eyes with each snore, until Tinkaton BANGS his hammer against the wall right beside his head. Duosion takes out a bag of beads, seemingly analogue to cards, and invites people to play with him over breakfast-- losing almost every round, despite making a big show of intense thought that's probably meant to be intimidating. Spinda is so besides themselves with excitement at entering the deepest depths of a Mystery Dungeon that they can't possibly walk straight, ramming their head into the Meloetta statue on their way out of the cave and tumbling to the ground, dazed.

The dark cave, buried under a mile of unstable rock, filled with monsters and mystery and danger-- nonetheless feels a little cozy.

Tinkaton: "AlRIIIIIIIGHT!"
Tinkaton: "KAPOW!!!"
Tinkaton: "Time to SADDLE UP and GET A MOVE ON exploring!"
Tinkaton: "We're called EXPLORERS, not SIT AROUND ALL DAY PLAYING GAMES-ers, you know!"
Tinkaton: "Hahahaha!!!"
Tinkaton: "BANG!!!!!"

Hiking out to go deeper down into the cave system, Tinkaton remarks that the lower sections of Mystery Dungeons are usually shorter, so they might be back before lunch ("Which is great, because we didn't pack any! Hahaha!". Ceruledge adds that they're also usually much more dangerous, followed by Duosion adding 'lucrative' to the pool of adjectives, and Spinda nearly teetering off the edge of the path before contributing 'exciting'.

The path down here doesn't hang over a seemingly-bottomless chasm, like the previous section did. In the parts where the space of the dungeon is wide open, rather than cramped by low ceilings and twisting angles, the gaps on either side of the path fall a short ways before meeting lava. Heat is inescapable down here, smothering in small rooms and scorching in open spaces, but despite it, a third grade geology student would become very indignant at the composition of the walls and floor. Instead of the grey and slicked-black of rocks formed by heat and pressure, the bizarre patchwork stone of the outer mountain is unchanged down here, with varying browns and greys shoved together haphazardly and barely stable.

Hostile Pokemon, still, are everywhere; jumping out of lava, falling from the ceiling, even appearing from walls in one case where a Haunter tries to grab Cinder. Ru Li's telekinesis, even as crude as it is, is invaluable in heaving people away from the edge of the path, or shoving dislodged stones back in their place before walls crumble. Wide-open rooms free of lava would be a relief from the rest of the expedition, if not for their tendency to erupt with incomparable numbers of hostile Pokemon, swarming the expedition party until subdued.
Petra Soroka     Eventually, sooner than it feels like it should be, there is a bottom. Tramping down one last coiling path down opens up into a singular, massive room, automatically triggering the alarm response that the earlier monster houses inflicted on you. But after a moment of panic, it's quiet, and cooler than the dungeon upstairs. The ceiling stretches way high above you, and piles of boulders sparsely litter the room, with everything visible made of that patchwork stone. The objective, the part that sticks out from the landscape so visibly that it has to be important, becomes visible at the far end of the room.

A pillar of stone, like an inverted pyramid, is driven down into the ground. Dozens of feet high, the slopes of its sides suggest that its point continues even a hundred feet deeper below the ground, and the rock is cracked and fractured where it's jammed into it. The stone surface of the pillar-- smooth, unlike everything else you've seen-- is marked up with incomprehensible runes, open eye carvings, and glowing red dots arranged like braille. Touching it either seems like a very bad idea or a very good idea-- but either way, the expedition party has to approach it to investigate it further.

Spinda, inadvisibly, takes the lead in approaching it, wobbling out ahead of the party shockingly quickly for how the majority of their movement ends up going any direction but forwards.

Spinda: "Look!"
Spinda: "There-ere-ere!"
Spinda: "There's a slo-ot in the pillar!"
Spinda: "The Verdant Gem must fi-i-i-i--"
Spinda: "Wahh--!!!!"

When Spinda gets too close too the pillar, a rumbling sound fills the cavern, and the ground shakes so violently that the Pokemon are thrown off their feet. Rather than the source being a punk Lairon with Earthquake again, though, it isn't immediately apparent where this is coming from. Boulders taller than any of the Pokemon scrape and echo throughout the cave, moving seemingly of their own accord, practically tearing themselves out of the wall behind the pillar. Beige and brown, patchwork chunks of rock, heaving themselves away from the wall made of much of the same, crunching and shuddering as if there's a rockslide, until-- they stand up.

REGIROCK: ÜN ÜN ÜN

The golem stands bipedal and ten times as tall as any of you. Red dots glow on its head in a pattern like a flashing computer, inarticulate as language. It throbs with a deafening electronic bass noise, deep enough to feel rattling your teeth, then beeps and chitters in time with the flashing dots on its face.

All the 'eyes' light up at once, glowing brighter and brighter, until a beam of pure white energy lances out at the expedition team, exploding where it hits the ground.
Kale Hearthward Kale wakes up. Both of them do, to clarify.

> "We're called EXPLORERS, not SIT AROUND ALL DAY PLAYING GAMES-ers, you know!"

".... Do you have games here?"
"He means like, board games or schoolyard games, obviously. Not video games."
"Yeah, but there's that one that possesses washing machines and TV's... they *could* have video games somewhere. It wouldn't be farfetch- it wouldn't be that strange, I mean."
"Why do you slash I care? We don't even like video games."
"I was just curious. That's all."

Onward they go.

"Haven't found a solid solution for fighting yet... missing our equipment, can't use our magic..."
"Can't strategize since I'm attached to an idiot..."
"Yeah - hey!"

Kale hurt himself in his confusion!

"We need an edge. Or we're going to become a liability. More of a liability."
"Mmm... maybe... something instinctual? Unlocking some hidden potential we haven't realized?"
"Instinctual? If you hadn't noticed, whenever we get into battle, all the body seems to want to do is dance."
"... Yeah, nevermind. Okay. You steer, I'll think of something."
"I've been doing all the steering this whole time already..."

Onward they go...

"Great, just slot the gem in, and then that should-"

And then the golem appears.

"Oh great, let me guess, that's a rock type. What was it, twice as effective?"
"Four times."
"Great-"

And then hyper beam. Kale manages to weather it fairly well because he was already bracing, but his feathers are ruffled.

"And we don't have anything that'd work?"
"Aside from that Thief move, which... what's going on?"

Kale starts bouncing in place, as if bopping along to a tune only he can hear.

"The body's trying to dance again."
"Stop it from doing that - we need to focus, move with intent!"

Kale goes for the one move he has that doesn't involve a massive type disadvantage - dashing forward at Regirock, and going to hip-check it while trying to nab whatever Regirock might be holding (if anything).
Aidan Proudpick Aidan sleeps like Sid from Toy Story, on a mattress retrieved from the roadside and covered in Fantasy CostCo brand sheets. His tail wraps around his toes like a fluffy comforter, his fingers touched under his chin.

Blink blink. Is everything... the same? That seems significant. But he can't figure out why.

Regardless, they are here once more! Aidan sits up, thrusting his short in the air with a WOOOOOO! of excitement. He is immediately at Duosion. Aidan is not a gambler, but cards are a pasttime when you few other choices. He loses, not soundly. There is an electricity around Aidan, an excitement that matches the Guild. It is hard not to feel their warmth and happiness just to be here.

"Oh!" Pause, "Wait, there's MONEY here? I could use an accessory. Like a scarf. Or a hat!" Aidan is practically scampering back and forth. He makes a good scout, as his huge eyes and endless vision make him able to avoid the first blast of anything that might attack, leaping forward on all fours, then back, to ask Tinkaton what else they do, or what they buy, or anything he can think of. Being used to moving trees on all four limbs gives him something of an advantage as well, bouncing from stone to stone across lava.

A great rock corridor. "Weird. It's really

AIDAN USES DETECT

The Patrat bounds backwards, pushing himself into Spinda to knock them out of the hyper beam, before settling on all fours. "Why are you so dumb!!" Aidan shouts over at Kale. "Just attack! You think too hard!" Giant rock thing. His eyes cast around the room. There's only... rocks in here. Damn.

Whatever terror comes from the goliath standing taller than he is pushed aside by the thoughts of this wonderful miraculous world and the really cool colorful friends here. Aidan scrabbles forward on all fours, staying low to the ground. A flip, a bound, and he is on the Regirock's back, sinking his teeth into the stone!
Hellwarming Trio Awakening to Meloetta's performance is certainly a pleasant way of arriving back in the world. The trio of Utsuho (the bird), Rin (the cat), and Satori (the ???) even show up in a similar way they were when they fell asleep: Piled together, with both of the former smothering the face of the latter.

Tinkaton's bang gets them to all jolt awake, and they scramble around in startled confusion at first before realizing that nothing's actually attacking them in their sleep. Utsuho's laughing about it while Rin and Satori both give Tinkaton irritated glares, but since they're awake...

Might as well eat. Utsuho and Rin join Duosion in playing cards while Satori sits it out to just watch instead.

Utsuho: "We're finally headed in?"
Rin: "Score! Been waitin' all... A long time for this!"
Satori: "Perhaps we'll even find something that we can bring back if we're lucky."

As expected, the trio are pretty in sync with each other when it comes to actually fighting off the hostile Pokemon with fiery and psychic blasts. They're not invincible, though, and they're not particularly fast, so getting smacked every now and then when something breaks through their covering fire is a given. Those that do rarely get a second shot at them, though, with all three of the youkai Pokemon bearing down on them soon afterwards.

They linger in the lava zone, too, since it reminds them of home. Kind of. Satori's certainly not going to mind taking a breather there, even if the eruptions mean she doesn't get to rest much.

Reaching the bottom, the trio gawk at that impressively high ceiling, flinch a the freaky alarm, and circle thatmassive pillar to see if there's anything special on it. The fact that it's smooth doesn't miss Satori's eye, though, and she waves her pets over to get a look at the runes carved into it.

Utsuho: "What do you think this is?"
Rin: "I dunno! Maybe we could take a piece off of it."
Satori: "No, that'd be a bad idea. It could be a defense me-"

Spinda gets too close, and the ground starts to shake with boulders moving on their own.

Satori: "-..chanism."

The battle against the energy-blasting golem begins, and the three scatter to give it more targets to (presumably) have to aim at. Part of that scattering is on purpose, but part of it is also because that explosion sends them into the air, and they capitalize on the momentum instead of forcing themselves to stay clumped together.

As always, Utsuho goes for the biggest blasts she can manage in this Fletchling's form. The orange eye on her chest flickers once, and then she spits out a steady stream of fire at the Regirock's center mass. Rin and Satori aim for its legs and head, respectively, with the Litten'd youkai testing how much heat it can withstand by just flinging burning embers all around its lower body.

Satori, assuming that the white part with the gold bits are, in fact, eyes, directs her psychic blasts right at it. Even she's not particularly sure how the Ralts' ability works, but it's something she's willing to just fire off and see what happens.
Angela Even Angela finds this world to have its charm. FOr one thing, she apparently can shoot zap cannons at things through the Porygonpack and she's not entirely sure if that's an Eggman funnovation or a Porygon power. Nevertheless, what REALLY sold Angela was how Spinda engaged with Celebi. It was just so wholesome that she couldn't help but be endeared.

She's not going to share this with anyone but she can quietly enjoy it. Loudly enjoying things, as of late, has gotten her in trouble (this is how she interpreted it) so best to avoid it for the time being.

There is a kind of cozy routine to being woken up by the energetic voice of Tinkaton. Not that Angela is falling asleep so much as Cinder is falling asleep and taking the Eggpack with her and so it's really more like a change in channel for Angela, like someone swapped from Shudder to Youtube Kids, which is a nice change of pace in of itself--

"Up and at them, Cinder." Angela says with thinly restrained excitement. "It is time to have an adventure."

Cinderquil blearily wakes up, pulling the scarf tightly around what passes for a neck. She is getting more accustomed to moving around a poke-body which she isn't sure how to feel about but at least the adventure is going to be nice and--

SHORTLY AFTER

"UWAAAUUWAAUWAA!" Cinder cries out as a Haunter appears from a wall and grabs her, forcing Angela to give it a zap so it'll let go of Cinder.

"Be more careful," Angela chides Cinder "I do not enjoy harming the locals."

They continue on their adventure and Cinder becomes more attentative as they make their way further down and deeper, yet deeper in the mystery territory.

Neither were expecting an upside down pyramid-like structure. Spinda rushes on ahead.

"Spinda, be cautious. There may be a trap or an ambush--"

And then that's only a few seconds before a giant golem claws on up and shoots laser beams out of its eyes at them. Cinder is barely able to SWIFTly roll out of the way of the blast.

"Angela, try zapping it!"

"I doubt that would be effective, Cinder, and besides as a fellow AI--"

Cinder crouches down, wrapping te scarf around her waist like a belt to make her back free and send a plume of fire flying out towards the golem! "I don't think it's gonna give us much coice. You okay Spinda??"

"I suspect WATER attacks will be beneficial--" Angela supplies unhelpfully (for Cinder anyway).
Blemishine     Even with the ostensibly massive stakes being put up with their quest, it's difficult to feel like the threat is something they have to be all business and serious about, as Elite work often is when lives are in the balance; it feels less like 'saving the world' and more like an adventure, with the guildmembers' antics and Spinda's excitedness being terribly infectious. Blemishine happily helps the panda-rabbit up off the ground when they fall, with a nudge of her head. This will probably be necessary more than once.

Maria: "Ahahaha... you better watch your step when we're this deep in the mountain!"
Maria: "Still, this place looks so put-together... I really want to know how it formed."
Maria: "Maybe a Pokemon is responsible?"

Trudging through the sweltering caverns, it feels somewhat odd to find their destination so quickly, but she won't complain. Rather, her attention is grasped by the upside-down pyramid, from its mysterious composition to the etchings marked across it. Blemishine's eyes are wide and practically asparkle, and if Spinda didn't go in first, she might have. But partway into moving forward, she stops and blinks, the violent shuddering in the area making the sense of danger they felt on entering suddenly seeming not so out of place.

    It's...rocks!?

No, not rocks, that could only be a Pokemon! A Pokemon towering over all of them, rumbling away with unknown.../sounds/, and clearly not very happy with their presence! She had thought that almost instantly, although the set of seven lights beginning to shine brighter add to that, giving her enough advance warning to brace all four legs and leap high and out of the way of the Hyper Beam's splash radius, the force of the explosion at her back.

Maria: "Don't tell me this is some kind of guardian...!"
Maria: "Oh no-- I jinxed it when I said what I said on the way in, didn't I!?"

Despite the faintly whining undertone to her voice, Blemishine is already tensed for a fight the second her hooves touch down again, head dipping to angle the little shining horn on her head towards Regirock. With their journey down here giving plenty of time to get used to things, she thinks she's finally gotten the hang of using what she has now similarly to what she's used to...!

...Which is why a blinding burst of radiance, all concentrated towards Regirock's set of 'eyes', tries to disorient and disrupt its aim before it can launch any more attacks!
Timespace Riders      Half-awake, half-asleep, Sougo is carried through the space between worlds in a nebulous, dreamlike state. The Demon King is used to unusual dreams. Sometimes, there are visions of the past--of the loss of his parents and the man in red. Sometimes, there are visions of potential futures, only half-remembered when he wakes up. This time, it's Celebi.

Like so many dreams before it, words are difficult. The heart wants so badly to speak them, but the mind is stuck; spinning its wheels in that frustrating way that happens in dreams. Muttered un-sentences escape his lips, but among them, there is one utterance that's fully formed, fully sincere, even if Sougo isn't fully awake.

Sougo: "But I do. I told you why... didn't I? In the past."

It's all he can manage, and he wakes up to the memory of the dream quickly fading. Awakening as an Eevee, the first thing that Sougo does, hopping out of bed with a spring in his four-legged step, is wrap his paws around Woz and squeeze him.

The feline retainer blinks in confusion, before returning the gesture.

Woz: "...good morning, my Demon King. Did you sleep well?"
Sougo: "Mm! I had a really good dream, I think."

The both of them are startled by Tinkaton's hammer. Woz, in particular, raises his hackles and leaps, claws digging briefly into the wall. Sougo giggles, to an indignant look from the retainer, who retracts his claws and un-bigs his tail in a poor attempt to disguise his initial startlement.

---

The path downwards is sweltering and fraught with danger. Thankfully, Sougo is more accustomed to fighting on four legs, now closer to Woz's level of comfort. The two of them fill in where Ru Li would otherwise be overtaxed, leaping in with high-flying, surprisingly hard-hitting kicks and claws for their diminutive sizes.

At last, the objective is then in sight, with Sougo in particular looking very glad of it.

Sougo: "What a relief!"
Sougo: "This heat and my... floof sure aren't mixing. Go ahead, Spinda! We'll back you up--"
Sougo: "UWOH!!"

Sougo nearly jumps out of his skin at the boulders moving around of their own accord, shaking as he tries to maintain his balance. It seems Woz, just like in human form, is the better of the two at that.

The beam of energy fires, and the retainer is quick to act. First, he leaps into the air, his tail snatching Sougo by the hindleg, yanking him free of danger. Then, there is a familiar glint in his eye, as the retainer hatches a Nasty Plot, smiling ever so slightly to himself.

Sougo, for his part, regains his bearing midair, just in time to extend his claws for a landing--right on top of Regirock. His hindlegs kick, hard, into the side of the multi-eyed pokemon's head, sending up a spread of, for some reason, playing cards. It doesn't hit very hard--yet.
Dysnomia Dysnomia stirred awake, finding herself once more curled up. She yawned, a long, high-pitched sound, rubbing the sleep from her eyes with her tail. She uncoiled herself, raising her head.

Dysnomia: "Morning, I guess."
Dysnomia: "Let's see what's down there!"

She crawled along by Spinda, acting as a little seeing eye worm in the dark, adjusting his direction, and any others near her, with her tail as they veered too near hazards, using her night vision to try to save Ru Li the work of saving more pokemon from falling over the edge.

The energy she'd called in desperation before thrummed under her skin, not too dissimilar to the power that normally sang in her 'heart.' She left pokemon frozen and faltering in place, where the others could strike them. The tip of her tail thumped happily against the floor of the cavern as they descended, on and on.

Dysnomia: "You're right, Spinda!"
Dysnomia: "That looks like it'd fit."
Dysnomia: "We're almos--Oh."
Dysnomia: "Stars."

A beam of carved outward from the great earthen pokemon, and Dysnomia could only find herself wishing for a barrier. She reached out with her will, and smokey air coiled into panes of shimmering, ethereal power between Regirock, her, and the other nearby pokemon.

    Dysnomia Used Light Screen!

The beam hit it so hard it cracked, instanteously, and even with the bulk of the blast kept away from her Dysnomia was sent skipped over the earth, like a stone over a still pond, hitting the wall with a CRACK.
Kuroto Dan      Genm awakens to Meloetta's performance, and immediately raises and arm up as if to ready to fight. And why wouldn't he? Anyone who would put him in such a defenseless state, even with his consent, deserves punishment. He's cut short by Tinkaton's outburst however, and just silently seethes up until Regirock shows up, towering over the group and letting out an ominous war cry as it lets forth a massive beam.

It's an attack that Genm could easily dodge if he wanted to, however, he's spent time studying the matchups on the side, so to speak. He's the superior steel type, and this lowly creature made of earth and stone is clearly a rock type, so by that logic, he has nothing to fea-

     Genm Has Fainted!

The tiny Pawniard is consumed in a flash of white and sent hurling back, falling face first as wisps of smoke smolder off of him. It's seemingly over for the dark Kamen Rider, up until he lifts himself up off the ground, a glowing seed now in hand.

     Genm Used A Reviver Seed!

Genm: " Idiot! Fool! Even in this primitive world, my genius and resourcefulness can't be dulled! I'm eternal, and you're simply yet another stepping stone in the path towards my ascension!"

Genm's rant gives way to a sickly laughter as he discards the used up seed, throwing it over his shoulder and he wipes his blades together before rushing forward, arms dangling behind him as he collides into the massive rock golem head first.

     Genm Used Iron Head!
Vantablitz Remnants     Terribly serious, terribly grave, world-concerning threats, that nevertheless don't seem to demand any particular haste or discipline, is exactly what Ahn and Lotus are both used to. Lotus, for her part, because of never having lived under a state of diffuse or environmental threat in her whole non-human life. Ahn, for her part, because the last time she had to worry about                                         was a very long time ago.

A leisurely nap, time spent to rest and meditate and absorb warmth instead of light, the luxury of discussion and decompression between major goals; these are old friends and crucial components of any mission. Boldly, bravely, confidently, and not at all like goobers, the two proceed through the labyrinthine tunnels and dead drops at the vanguard, quick to reach and catch wayward or clumsier members when they can do so without telekinesis, and to nimbly warn of hazards lurking up ahead before people can stumble into them. And upon reaching the final chamber, even Spinda's enthusiastic assumption is joined in joyous refrain by,
Ahn: "Oh then that must be it! Good job Spinda!"
Lotus: "Really now? I don't see it. Are you sure~?"

The attitude is abruptly abandoned in the face of the churning shadow that engulfs the mystery dungeon team mere moments later. Both pause to watch as the source grows higher and higher with each second, but it's Lotus who moves-- rushing to Ahn and taking on her symbiotic Copyform-- when blinking eye-glow burns out of the pillar-face and rattles off an alien language. Ahn, dwarfed by the monstrosity, directly under its apathetic bioluminescent stare, seems to forget to breathe. Because it's just like--

Being shot at with an energy beam jogs her brain. Too slowly, but Lotus is there to cover for her, and the magnified motion of second legs and borrowed telekinesis and speed hurls her bodily out of the way at just such a rate that she can curl up and action tumble away. Staggering to her feet, Ahn holds her skull helmet down with both hands, askew and rattling with her frenzied breath. Squeezing her eyes shut, she blinks away-- dust, probably-- and regathers her bone club (as a tendril of recombinated gel slides back from under her eye and into Lotus).

Ahn: "Well then if this is going to be the final boss, we can give it everything we've got!"
Lotus: "Ah~? Do I at last get the opportunity to say 'real life isn't like that', little Ahn~?"
Ahn: "I'm taller than you here!"

The inane banter is focusing. It's only a prelude to the ridiculously agile cubone-- somehow not thrown off her game at all by feeling so small and clumsy and naked and hiding behind that mask-- zipping across the cave and tackling Regirock at the legs, from the opposite angle of Sougo from above and across the Youkai blasts aimed at its middle. No, a sweeping low kick, using the heavy club as the extension as much as the leg. Ditto mass partially dissolves into tar-like jelly again, and sprays out a shower of copied leaf-shaped steel blades.

Blemishine's flash goes off, and as the glare fades, AhnLotus return from slow whitewash in reverse; the rebounding light is shrinking and crunching down, caught like a softball between stubby little cubone claws accompanied by a more human-looking matched set of ferrofluid copy-hands, being shaped down into . . .

That pose looks kinda familiar. Like it came off a famous statue once.
Petra Soroka     Aidan catapults Spinda out of the direct blast of the Hyper Beam, so that they only get knocked around with the concussive blast that follows it. Tinkaton's yelp is swallowed up by the explosion, and when the blast clears, he's anchored himself from being thrown away by hurling the entire weight of his body and hammer down, clinging the the ridiculously heavy weapon as a lifeline. Once he has a chance, he and Ceruledge split to opposite sides of Regirock, attacking both of its legs!

Tinkaton's hammer with Genm's similarly dense head forces its leg to buckle momentarily, while Ceruledge's ethereal blades and the youkai's fire softens the other one with excessive heat to make it sag. The goliath of a Pokemon is forced to pause in its tracks, opening up a perfect window for Spinda, who managed to pop up from the blast and teeter towards Regirock without it noticing, to--

Trip over their own legs and fall on their face, needing to be pulled away before they get stepped on.

Spinda: "Urrrrrk!"
Spinda: "Wagh-- I'm okay-ay-ay!"
Spinda: "I just wa-a-ant to help!!"

Regirock does not have any held items.

Standing at over ten meters tall, melded into the rock wall before the Spinda Squad arrived, it seems silly to even imagine that it *could* be holding anything, though the treasure-filled nature of the Mystery Dungeons still means it's possible. Frisking it as Kale does doesn't turn up anything, which is, in itself, also kind of strange. Stationary, isolated, and unequipped of anything, Regirock must have been placed here by someone to defend this pillar-- but while scurrying all over it, Kale notices that the Regi doesn't seem *old*. There's no marks of previous battles before the Spinda Squad, no weathering from age, or scuff from erosion, and there's barely even *dust* on it. It looks like it's been here months, not centuries.
Petra Soroka     Besides the ones that physically force it to stumble, most of the attacks have little visible effect on Regirock. As impressive as their array of powers is, Elite and Pokemon alike, the difference in scale is practically insurmountable. Each step forwards quakes the ground and causes rocks to fall loose from the ceiling, crashing into the expedition team, and even though Cinder's fire splashes against its chest, and Aidan, Sougo, and Kale try to beat it physically, it doesn't slow its approach at all.

It wades through the Elites, throwing them aside to position itself in front of the pillar, blocking the entry port that Spinda had pointed out. Finally in its place as guardian, Regirock swings each of its blocky, incredibly heavy arms up, preparing to smash them downwards to crush the invading Pokemon with sheer weight, and then staggers from the combination of being blinded two-ways by Blemishine and Satori, giving Ahn the perfect chance to flash beneath it and kick at its legs. Regirock, off-balance by the weight of its own arms and struck perfectly to unbalance further, tips backwards, towards the pillar it was defending.

The monolithic torso crashes back into the pillar, causing the cavern to shake again, but not moving the pillar itself even a milimeter. Regirock leans back up to its feet, thrumming with another : ÜN ÜN ÜN, and its seven eyes flash in dull, milky colors rather than bright red. It chitters and beeps, and then rather than going for a bodily attack as it had earlier, lets out a drawn out ÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜNNNNNNNN that rattles your teeth and shatters the boulders laying around.

The rocks shatter into smaller and smaller pieces from the vibration, disintegrating into sand, and levitating above the cavern floor as if it was a deafeningly loud speaker. The throbbing bass clips off with another series of chirps, and the sand starts whirling around the room, stinging eyes and scratching at skin, especially dense around the Regi itself.
Timespace Riders      Woz's scheming hadn't anticipated the stinging sands any more than Sougo's straightforward honesty had--but the retainer adapts, eyes stinging and skin burning. After the initial shockwave passes, the Purrloin dashes for one of the chamber's walls, claws extended. He races along the wall, as a dark orb of energy builds up in one outstretched paw. With the other held before his face to shield him from a measure of the raging sandstorm, Woz repeatedly flicks his wrist, sending a barrage of purple blasts into Regirock, powered up by his conniving opener.

Woz used Shadow Ball!

Sougo, for better or worse, grits his teeth and keeps up the close-quarters assault, landing and willingly braving the worst of the sands to get in a few more hits. His legs ache from impacting the towering Pokemon's unyielding form in a four-legged one-two snap kick. His teeth rattle in his skull from an ill-advised attempt to bite. Still, he perseveres.

Retreating for just a moment and blinking the tears from his stinging eyes, Sougo leaps into the air once more. Another suit of playing cards appears, this time aligned directly with his path, somehow urging him on to his target at the dead-center of Regirock's onerous form. This time, he hits harder--noticeably so, even if it still might not be enough to budge the enemy Pokemon.

Sougo used Trump Card!

Woz pushes off of the wall with a nimble backflip, landing near Spinda and continuing his shadow-ball barrage to give them a moment to get back on their feet.
Dysnomia Dysnomia: "Ngh..."
Dysnomia: "No..."

As the sandstorm picks up around her, Dysnomia fell from the indent in the rock wall behind her where she'd been enbedded. She raised her eyes at the Regirock, the great monolith. It looked indomitable. Unstoppable.

A tide of something swelled in Dysnomia's chest. She opened her little mouth wide, and a small, high pinched noise from the back of her little throat.

Dysnomia: "Haaa--"

...It cascaded, louder and louder. Dysnomia's body shone with violet light, her little maw glowing with light...

Dysnomia: "--aaaaAAAAAAA--"

A light scorched through the air, turning sand to glass as it cleaved through. A violet beam that burned bright and terrible, from this little, feeble Dratini right toward the legendary pokemon's many eyes.

"Get off the ground!" Aidan scampers, leaping up onto a boulder as the ground becomes a maelstrom of tiny dust clouds. There's only one safe ground in this room. Aidan's Patrat eyes take in the rocks in the room, the boulders moving up. Trajectories, sizes, and the moment that Regirock is going to break them all flash through his mind like calculus. It's just like doing any spell at home. Just do it.

The Patrat bursts away from the wall, leaping back and forth across the boulders towards the Regirock. This is perfect. Everyone is here. All the elites know who he is. Even the Guildmembers can see him now. Every leap drives his heartbeat up higher. Every step closer makes his blood pulse through his veins. He can feel it, exactly what his body wants him to do. So simple. Yet so mighty.

He's gonna prove it. He's going to finally be one of the Elites people look at and be amazed at. That they notice in an instant. He'll have a wikeleet page instead of just a wikefeet page. It's time to show everyone!

One final leap, closing the distance the Regirock, and Aidan opens his mouth. Wide. Wider. Wider. Stretching the muscles and revealing the powerful rodent front teeth. Energy coalesces around them, making them a sudden beacon in the cave.

"Okay, how'd you do... that?"

More rocks. Kaleduo manages to evade by, honestly, just running around in a panic. The realization that it's new and not old is noted, but... he's a bit too unfocused to share it with the group just yet.

Finally, he stops to take a breather... and the body's started dancing again. It's hopping and it's bopping, and it's seeming more insistent now. Kale (either of them) can't take their focus off of it for a moment, before it starts moving again.

"It just... it just wants to dance."
"It can't dance, we're in the middle of a battle!"
"No equipment, no magic, no strategy..."

The dancing intensifies. It moves from bopping to stepping - left, right, side to side, slide to slide...

"What - what are you doing? What are we doing?"
"It's like you said. We're out of options. So I'm gonna let it dance."
"Let it? What are-"
"We're out of options. You asked if there was something instinctual we're overlooking? It's dancing."

Step step. Slide slide. Spin-

"I don't get - this is silly, why are-"
"Shut up. Feel it."

Spin. Shuffle, shuffle. Two steps back, one forward. Stubby wings out, and spinning again. It feels silly. It *looks* silly. But... then Right Kale nods.

"I... feel it. I feel it. It's got a beat..."

"It's got a beat," repeats Left Kale.

The silly dance reaches a conclusion. Both Kales turn their attention back towards the Regirock. They crouch, preparing to leap, and then jump-

- and the ground where they were standing cracks from the force of them taking off.

The doduo launches across the air - beelining for Regirock's head, and twisting around in midair to kick at it - and from there landing back on the ground, but not skipping a beat before taking off again, twisting around and launching another attack. He's fast. The whole leap strike, and landing are done in less than a second.

"A step forward-"
"- And a hop back-"

Kaleduo lands again - not cleanly, at least it looks like at first he's come in at an off angle and goes sliding across the ground - but the slide's purposeful. One wing goes out, pivoting his motion on the ground, picking up the momentum from the slide and getting his legs back out from under him into a run.

"A slide-"
"-To a slide!"

Running at Regirock- no, running *up* Regirock - no, wrong again, *sliding* up and over and down Regirock, taloned feet digging furrowed grooves as they pass.

"And the hop..."

He takes off again. Up.. and up, all the way up, a far cry from the sad attempt at flight he'd attempted during the journey here... and however high the ceiling is on the cavern, he reaches it...

... And flips around at the last second, planting both feet against the cavern's ceiling, and pushing against it, launching straight back down towards Regirock, at speeds exceeding terminal velocity!

"And a BOP!"
Angela Angela says, "Mm." in response to Spinda's suffering and upbeat attitude. Honestly, kind of makes her think of Hod the more she thinks about it, except less treacherous. She thinks it's a shame, that outside of lovability, Spinda isn't being able to help at all. As one who often wishes to help and finds that her efforts are immediately doomed from the very beginning, she is sympathetic to hte little rat creature.

But what to do about that?

Cinder stammers, "Fire doesn't seem to help..." with a faint whimper, backpedaling quickly. "If we FAINT in this world, do you think we FAINT in reality?" Cinder asks Angela.

"I wouldn't know," Angela confesses quite honestly.

Cinder lets out a pained cry as sand gets in her eye--Angela, of course, is unharmed but her viewscreen gets sandy and makes it harder for her to see what's going on. She doesn't pay too much mind to this as her mind is now distracted with this other consideration as she completely stops paying attention to the actual problem at hand.

"Okay I'm...having a hard time moving around like this..." Cinder says, pulling free the Porygonpack and considers putting her on the floor.

This gives Angela an idea. "No. Give me to Spinda."

Cinder shrugs and makes her way over to Spinda, "Hey buddy, can you carry my friend for a second?" And absolutely will strap the Porygonpack to Spinda's back if the pokemon in question.

"Spinda, I am going to assist you." Angela says, "You should be able to operate the Porygonpack as well... I shall follow your lead."

There, now he'll get a chance to help, she thinks triumphantly. She is so good and superior at this adventure.

Cinder meanwhile, now freed from the pack and the risk of burning her scarf runs right back at the golem, turning red hot as flames erupt from its back and just generally around it as it goes for another tackle!
Hellwarming Trio Utsuho: "Final boss?"
Rin: "This one hired everyone else we just beat up? Must be loaded..."
Satori: "No, they mean this is the last adversary in our long journey. Go all out, girls."

Like with Ahn and Lotus, the banter helps the trio focus and readjust their expectations for this battle. Without having to think too hard about conserving their strength for a further descent, their movements become more agile, if somewhat reckless. They have to, after seeing the Regirock refusing to budge from the initial volley of attacks.

It's not invincible, though, as they soon see parts of it starting to warp from flame and physical impact, and there's a moment to capitalize when it's blinded and knocked over into the pillar. Utsuho and Rin prepare to douse it in yet more flames, but their pulled back by Satori just as its eyes start to flash.

Satori: "Watch out. It's preparing something!"
Rin: "We can take it!"
Utsuho: "Is that sand? Hah! It'll take way more than that to slow us down!"

Utsuho's boast is followed by the Fletchling starting to spray fire around in (relatively) large pillars (compared to the smaller pokemon), incinerating and melting the oncoming sand into molten glass around them. She laughs confidently as the heat builds up, only stopping when she hears Satori and Rin yelping at getting hit by bits of molten glass.

Perhaps not realizing she's directly responsible for that, her temper flares up, and she flaps rapidly to get higher into the sky as her mouth opens up with (kind of) huge ball of flame appearing in front of her. It's not quite as big as Utsuho's usual sun-balls, but it's still large enough to cover her as she dives through it, launching herself at the Regirock's torso again to try and simply smash right through it.

Rin and Satori, once they shake off the glass, refocus their efforts on supporting their allies' attacks. Rather than just trying to pile on the damage, Rin and Satori both aim their attacks at the Regirock's eyes, creating bursts of flame and confusing psychic waves right in front of them in an effort to keep it off balance and unable to defend itself.
Blemishine     Yup, there's absolutely no doubt that Regirock was put here to defend that thing, the moment it positions itself in front of the slot...! Does Satori's mention of a defense mechanism have some grounding, and it's a guardian created by the pyramid itself? Or did something - someone - put it here? Those certainly aren't questions that Regirock itself will answer for them, so the only thing to do for right now is to move it...!

Maria: "Urgh... even just making noise hurts, it's seriously strong...!"
Maria: "And now with all this sand, we have to find a way to get through..."
Maria: "Spinda, please stay close to Mister Woz! Your chance is going to come!"

Indeed, the whipping and rough sand particles wear at her stamina and limit Blemishine's ability to see, both from the decreased visibility in the room itself and from needing to squint her eyes near-shut to avoid getting any in them. What is she going to do to be able to help create an opening right now...? Surely, there must be something...

...or maybe, she doesn't have to. With everyone else laying on the pain, she can stop, collect herself in the middle of the sandstorm, and try and focus through it. With Regirock's rock-solid body steadily being chipped away at, there's no doubt a weakness is going to be presenting itself sooner rather than later. And when it does...

That horn of hers once again shines bright, releasing a shimmering heat haze-like shudder of psychic energy into the air! Although it doesn't seem as if anything happens immediately, and Regirock doesn't seem to suffer any particular damage, there's a heavy pressure in the air around it, like a physical weight that's both inhibiting its movements while also threatening to come in from any direction at any time.

    Blemishine foresaw an attack!
Kuroto Dan      Genm: " Are you perhaps unaware of my perfect metal body? A mere sandstorm isn't nearly enough to-"

Genm is cut off as sand gets into his eyes, causing him to let out a hellish shriek as he stumbles back as he tries to rub the coarse grains out.

He eventually recovers, angrier than ever. He sharpens his blades against his own body, the sound of grinding metal filling the air, before he finally lunges forward.

Though Regirock has size and power over the Pawniard, there's one thing it doesn't have. Speed and mobility. A strength that Genm is going to capitalize on as he begins scaling up the golem and slashes at one of the mon's joints repeatedly.

Vantablitz Remnants     Where Regirock crashes back down, the sound Ahn makes is halfway between a strained pop-off and a slightly astonished yelp. They back away from the impact sight with several rapid leaps, spacing out from the giant Pokemon while still clutching that ball of captured light. Nestled to their chest by Lotus' extra hands, Ahn's deep focus crunches it down smaller, brighter, hotter, until it tinges saffron and throbs faintly between their vertically mirrored palms. A cubone resting its weight on its toes in martial arts readiness is something to see, given what they have for feet.

Ahn: "Do you think it--?"
Lotus: "Bad luck."
Ahn: "Huh?!"
Lotus: "Now you've done it."

Ahn's terrified squeal is subsumed into and drowned out by the overpowering sonic assault that comes off of Regirock immediately. Her eyes are scrunched up and she's holding her little claws over where her ears probably are beneath the helmet, but it's only a pantomime in silence as rocks crack and sand starts to swirl. Where the noise fades however, and she should start coughing on blinding grit, she only breathes out a sigh of relief. Incidentally, her footsteps make noise again-- When had they stopped? It was like a different vibrating noise had been extremely loud, yet totally inaudible. Coming from her? Lotus is already losing a certain grey hue. Two additional ferrofluid hands have taken over from where Ahn reflexively abandoned her work, shifting to allow six as the two regather themselves.

Ahn: "Establishing local luminal tensor matrix."
Lotus: "Oh~? Then . . . From Sankhara Vinnana, and from Vinnanna, Namarupa."

One by one, black arms poised around the ball of light dissolve, splashing into the ground, and soaking into the soil. As each verse goes, the glow captured-- amplified? used as a base substrate-- by Ahn gains heat and colour, casting off tiny motes like glittering pollen. The ditto-mass is ostensibly absorbed into the earth, soaking like water into the sand; but then it bursts up from under Regirock, already taking the shadow, then physical form, of grasping vines. Entangling plants clutch at its joints and burrow into its rocky flesh, leeching away energy.

Ahn: "Let's hope this works!"
Lotus: "You too, guardian, are impermanent~ Ahahaha!"

Ahn's and Lotuses hands in parallel release the ball of energy in a singular direction. The beam drowns out a second set of words and stencils their combined shadow into the far wall; a laser of organic sunlight, scything through the ideally pinned enemy, strangely appropriate for this world. As if they used Solar Beam!
Petra Soroka "Just be careful, Spinda, this thing is BIG!" EVeryone ELSE seems like they can take care of themselves.

Spinda scrambles back up to their feet, recovering from being owned as quickly as ever. They wobble in place uncertainly, watching the clash with Regirock from afar, clamping their paws over their ears to prevent sand from getting inside. With their ears covered, they don't hear Cinder approach, and get shocked by her calling out to them so badly that they fall right back over.

Spinda: "Wahh--!"
Spinda: "Ci-i-inder!"
Spinda: "Yep yep yep! I'll ho-old A-a-angela!"
Spinda: "We're frie-ends too!"

SPINDA was given the SECRETARY OF LOBOTOMY CORPORATION to hold.

The whirling sand blunts Woz's shadow ball and scratches all the Elites who need to charge through it to attack, but it's not dense enough to properly block them. The impacts of Sougo, Aidan, and Genm's close range attacks smash and scratch the exterior rock, revealing nothing but more rock underneath. With no internals, seemingly no attention to pain, and a thousand tons of solid rock to get through, the physical attacks mostly make their presence known by weakening Regirock's movements and slowly chipping away at its body.

Aidan, for his efforts to be cool, jumps into the center of the sandstorm with his mouth wide open. Following up with a bite on Regirock's body, he served himself a full two course meal of mouthfuls of rock. But they're successful mouthfuls, at least!

Cinder and Utsuho go in for dual flame charges, bursting through the sandstorm at the same time. They hit the core of the Regi simultaneously, the splash of their flames magnifying off of each other to sear its surface before it swings its torso to fling them away again. Chunks of rock fall away from the Pokemon, weakened by the flames and dislodged by the flurry of slashes and kicks from the others.
Petra Soroka     Dysnomia's Hyper Beam cuts through the sandstorm, briefly opening up a tunnel of clear visibility all the way to, through, and past Regirock. Her aim was off, the Regi blurring into its own sandstorm despite its size, but a basketball-sized cylinder is still pierced through its shoulder, the beam crashing into the far wall behind it. In the window where they can see Regirock's eyes through the laser-formed hole in the sandstorm, Rin and Satori land psychic attacks on its eyes, causing the orbs to flicker chaotically in confusion. Ahn's sunlight is able to do the same, effortlessly slicing through the sandstorm to slam into Regirock, the concentrated beam grinding away through its mass and disintegrating it into glowing motes of ash.

With its body already weakened as it is, Kale is able to dance across it with near-impunity, faster than its movements could possibly react to. Covering it with scratches and gouges means running back and forth through the sandstorm, however successful it is, but the final blow to its head makes it undoubtably worth it. A crack spreads down through its face from where Kale crashed into it, splitting one of the glowing eyes and causing it to go completely dark.

Spinda: "Okay-ay-ay!"

As Spinda ducks down with Angela on their back to charge in like a quarterback, Regirock thrüms again, knocking more rocks down from the ceiling. With the sandstorm still raging on, the huge boulders levitate in the air, telekinetically suspended in a loose cloud around the Regi, until it looses them at all of the Pokemon with a bass-boosted whine. Giant rocks, empowered with ancient energy, fling through the air to crush the expedition team on the ground, thrown with enough force to knock them straight to the other side of the boss room!
Aidan Proudpick Somewhere along the way, Aidan does not seem to grasp what the difference between Biting /dark and Biting /normal is. The hyper fang doesn't pierce the stone, and instead, Aidan finds himself with a mouthful of rock. His huge eyes blink in sudden atonishment, jerking back.

Hellwarming Trio Under ideal circumstances, Utsuho's dual-charge with Cinder would end with them both skidding along the ground behind it, not looking backwards as the Regirock explodes! Unfortunately,  Utsuho didn't discuss this with Cinder at all, and her bird Pokemon form isn't nearly as conducive to actually punching through anything as she'd like. She clearly failed to consider this before punted away by the Regirock's flexing torso, and she ends up skipping off the ground a few times before rolling to a stop.

Rin and Satori, meanwhile, get to actually stay on their feet after launching those confounding attacks at the Regirock's face(?), both of them grinning in smug satisfaction at working with Ahn to create that opening for so many of their allies. Alas, their grins fade rather quickly when they realize that the Regirock is anything but defeated, and Utsuho too gets to witness the giant rocks coming through the air to smash right into everyone and anyone. The flying stones come far too fast for any of them to avoid the shots, too, and the sheer force of the flying rocks carries the three right into the three of those arena walls.

Rin: "M.. Master? Okuu? You both still...?"
Satori: "I'm... F-fine, Orin. Everything hurts, but I'll live."
Utsuho: "That stupid... Boneheaded jerk! Let's blow it up already!"
Rin: "Yeah.. come on, everyone! We've got it on the ropes now!"
Satori: "One more volley should do it. No more tricks."

From behind the stones that were pinning them against the wall, the air starts warping around Utsuho and Rin as they start pouring more heat out around themselves, wreathing themselves in intense flames. They start their approach from opposite directions, but their target is the same: The Regirock's core and back. Utsuho's still got the advantage in raw firepower of the two, but Rin gets her own little boost in the form of Satori aiming at the same point.

Mostly, by taking cues from Ahn and Dysnomia by shaping her final attack into something more focused than just a wave of psychic energy. It's a little odd looking at first, seeing Satori touch the tips of her stumpy little hands together to her side, but the reason becomes clear once she holds said hands forward. With a point to focus on, she launches a more focused beam of psychic energy at the Regirock, this time aimed at its torso to try and punch right through it alongside Utsuho's and Rin's flaming rushes.
Timespace Riders      Flagging from their towering, intractable foe's staunch defense, Sougo and Woz are both struck dead on by the hurled boulders. Neither of them are particularly imposing, and they both are sent flying across the room. Woz, winded, manages to land on his feet, claws striking sparks against the stone as they struggle to fight the momentum of the heavy blow. Sougo's landing is less graceful by far, the Eevee letting out a pained groan as he skips across the floor.

Halted only by the hard, unyielding wall, he gets to his feet with help from Woz, wincing and shaking the stars from his vision with a determined grunt.

Sougo: "...it's tough, but I'll pull through."
Woz: "I am pleased to hear it, sire."
Woz: "Behold, titan, the radiance of the king!"

Sharing a brief look between each other, the king and his retainer charge Regirock one final time, each splitting off and using their size to frustrate attempts to pin them down. Darting erratically to and fro, Sougo is the first of the two to attack, vaulting and leaping from a boulder. It's the same attack, again, but the cards are larger, tracing a longer line to Regirock. The little Eevee adopts the archetypical Rider kick pose, and a hair-raising energy permeates the air for a split second.

Sougo rockets like a bullet through the playing cards, which shatter like glass. The shards are swept up in his path, impacting the towering Pokemon in droves after Sougo's foot hammers it like a cannonball.

Sougo used Trump Card!

Woz is hot on Sougo's heels with a kick of his own, his paw wreathed in crackling purple energy. His strike impacts with a washed out purple explosion right after Sougo's, seeming to draw extra strength from the Demon King having struck first!

Kale Hearthward Rocks come cascading down.

Any one of these could crush Kale. One of these *does* crush Aidan, and Aidan doesn't have the quadruple weakness to worry about. This is deadly.

There's a moment of indecision on Kale's part... and then more dancing. Kale moves out of the way. Kale schmooves out of the way.

And then when there's a break in the waves of rocks, Kale moves in, heading towards Regirock again... by way of veering over to cover Spinda.

"We'll clear a path! Just stick behind us!"
"Yeah! We're gonna spin!"
"Spinning's a good trick - wait, what sort of spin-"

Right Kale's caution is warranted, as Kaleduo starts spinning in place, pirouetting at rapid speeds, and then jumping and flipping in the air - landing on Left Kale's head, and still spinning, now with a flurry of kicks on top that knock away boulders and debris as the doduo spins rapidly towards Regirock.

The flurry of upside-down kicks provides cover to Spinda as Kaleduo closes in - and then a flurry of similar kicks, close range, delivered with massive amounts of centrifugal force!

Right Kale, who is not in the center of mass at the moment is having a very bad time as his head revolves rapidly around and around and around...
Angela Cinder can't exactly give Spinda a thumbsup with a flipper but she does her level best to do so. She does feel bad for Spinda falling over but she'd probably feel more bad for Spinda falling over if Spinda didn't fall over constantly. The SECRETARY OF LOBOTOMY CORPORATION is handed off and Cinder crashes into the core of the Regi simultaneously. This is it, she thinks, victory is in their grasp! So long as they don't use some kind of Ancient Power, it's in the bag!

Cinder promptly gets concussed by a giant boulder and is sent flying across the cavern--indeed, she is sent just as expected all the way to the other side of the boss room and smacks against the fall wall before tumbling onto her belly with a faint *Squeak* noise like a plush doll getting stepped on as she hits the floor.

Fortunately, Petra's ribbon is miraculously intact!

"Of course Spinda," Angela says seriously--at least on the outside. "I know you are capable enough to help."

She doesn't even say that kind of shit to most of Lobootmy Corp but nevertheless, she says it to Spinda.

Cinder is gonna be out of it for a minute so this means...

It's all up to Spinda! At least, that's what the narrative in Angela's head is saying. The truth is, is that Angela-Porygon's movelist isn't very useful against a ROCK type Pokemon. She isn't Ash Ketchum, she can't defeat a rock pokemon with electrical attacks, that's just not going to happen!

So instead Angela summons an energy field around her and Spinda to protect them for their own finishing move! Angela's porygon head swivels towards Kale as he lends a hand for a moment but the bulk of her focus is on supporting Spinda right now.
Blemishine Maria: "Now...! We've gotta try to clinch it!"

Kale especially has torn all sorts of gashes and slashes into its body, and Regirock is ready to really lay it on them...which means there's no better chance to try and take it down once and for all! That, and with Spinda charging in, the best way to make sure they succeed is to join right in alongside them! Which is...

Easier said than done, with the kind of power the massive Rock-type Pokemon is throwing around. You know what they say, though. Bravery isn't the absence of fear, it's acting despite your fear--and knowing entirely how dangerous these gigantic boulders coming their way are, Blemishine charges in nonetheless. Galloping at full speed on still somewhat-small legs, she darts out of the way of one rock!

The opposite side, to let another pass by!

Another, she narrowly manages to go /over/ by jumping, right down to planting herself on top for a split second to leap forward off of it!

...Which puts her in the air, where yet another boulder hurdles in unavoidably. There's no dodging this one at all.

It impacts, but rather than send her flying--the thing is bisected in half to let Blemishine keep moving ahead, as an ephemeral blade of raw psychic energy extends forward fom her horn! She figured out how to do an equivalent to her light Arts--and after lamenting being unable to use her sword just a while ago, she's come up with a solution for that, too!

So even wincing in pain, rocky debris storming past her and bruises on her body, the Ponyta closes the distance in no time at all, rearing her head back and whipping all of her forward momentum into one single swing aimed at one of the cuts that Kale rent into its stony body! A targeted attack right on the weak point...

...at the same time her earlier prediction comes true, the ambient energy around Regirock coalescing into a series of slashes coming in for numerous other already-weakened parts of it! A one-two attack that'll attack Regirock from head to toe!

    The Future Sight came true!

They take off together without a second thought. Without reading each other's thoughts. Without thinking for themselves at all. Machine gun taps of rapidfire sprinting and hard zigzagging parkour is blended seamlessly together with the pulsing of telekinetic power against the ground, the roar of fiery thrust through the air, and the creaking of growing plants and crumbling rocks underfoot. The ripple of colours passing over Lotus atop Ahn is flawlessly timed with Ahn's flowingly chained stances and kinematic motion hacks.

They weave through the barrage of telekinetic boulders at wildly unsafe speeds and no pathing tolerance to speak of, pelted by the stone shrapnel, scraped by crashing rocks, launched by concussive shockwaves, until the push breathlessly through the far side, leaping from one rock, fire-thrusting to another, floating up to a rising scaffold of vines, and coming at Regirock in time with Sougo Angela. Ahn and Lotus grip the Heavy Club at opposite ends, squeeze it until the bone cracks, and scrape the shattered bulk away in the same motion as reversing grip. Four hands on the smoothed handle, copied fire and light and psychic force surges along the edge of the impromptu bone blade, itself glowing with aura from within.

As Spinda fully commits to their headbutt, AhnLotus plunge their decisive strike into the base of where that 'pillar' had once been, and drive it with all their might up high against the wall; whether to crash, to trip, to fall, to break, or be rendered stunned, or simply distracted from the little Pokemon with the Verdant Gem for just a split second longer, the unison of purpose is placed with tremendous force in exactly the right spot to join with the Team, and open the path for the carrier of the Gem.

Sougo, Woz, Ahn, and Blemishine's attacks all distract and stun Regirock while it's recovering from its own attack, giving Kale an opportunity to sweep away the barriers and clear the path for Spinda.

With Regirock occupied, Spinda charges right into it, crashing through its defenses in front of the pillar. They duck beneath its bent leg, then trip and fall into a rolling tumble, causing Angela's perspective through her screen to flail around uselessly. Even once Spinda's already back on their feet, their drunkenly-diagonal run is hard to get a visual grasp on through an on-screen view-- that is, if your perception isn't slowed by 1000x to let you maintain your bearings.

At some point during the rolling and flailing, the Verdant Gem slipped away from Spinda, clattering onto the ground. Angela, from her unique position on their back, is able to point it out to them, and they scoop it back up and keep running to the pillar. A teeter into a jump with their arms holding it out in front of them, and-- Spinda inserts the Verdant Gem into the Anchor of Rock.
Petra Soroka . . .

????: "It's scary. I know it's scary."
????: "You *know* I know how scary it is!"
????: "But isn't it worth trying something new?"
????: "You're not happy here! We can't stay in hiding forever."
????: "You don't *get* it!"
????: "I thought you would."
????: "If it changes, what if it gets worse?"
????: "At all? Even a little bit?"
????: "I'm already at my breaking point."
????: "I don't want to risk it. I don't want to risk this."
????: "............."
????: "... That's not fair."
????: "Saying that this is the only way it can ever be, forever..."
????: "I don't care if it's fair!"
????: "No one's ever asked for anything fair from *me*!"
????: "I'm making a wish for *myself*, for once!"
????: "And I don't *want* things to change!"

The Anchor shatters, and the entire world feels like it lurches without moving an inch. There's a brief falling sensation, like a car that hit its brakes too quickly and rocked forwards before settling back in place, but it's impossible to pinpoint *what* changed.

Then something else starts moving, much more obviously.

The absence of the pillar causes the dungeon to collapse, beginning with rumbling and quaking in the open chamber the expedition team is in, all the way at the very bottom of the dungeon. Rocks crumble and fall from the ceiling, and Tinkaton lifts up his hammer, the urgency of the situation so dire that he doesn't even slam it into the ground.

Tinkaton: "It's time to..."
Tinkaton: "RUN!!!!!"

Racing up through the winding passageways of Clastic Cavern as they crumble behind the party is a frantic scramble, made easier by the fact that none of the hostile Pokemon seem to be present anymore to bar their way. It's just long minutes of physical exertion, stumbling through heat across unstable pathways, with the threat of debris and collapse constantly around you, before the Spinda Squad collapses on the grass outside of the mountain, exhausted.

Lying on the ground, struggling to catch their breaths, the Elites have a great view to watch the patchwork mountain slowly collapse in on itself, inverting to fill the caverns beneath it and vanishing into the earth with a continuous, thunderous rumble. Woz, alone, feels something off in that moment. A heavy presence looms over the party, weighing down the conceptual and hypothetical layers of reality that Woz is especially attuned to. Its attention turns towards them, sluggishly rolling through theoretical timelines as if half-asleep, before settling on the expedition team. Its precognitive eye gradually opens, and then snaps to full awareness, and Woz feels the smothering sensation of tendrils of destiny weaving their way around every party member besides himself, tugging them towards a future that this presence decided on.

When Woz opens his book to consult it, he finds scrawled across a page an indeterminate time in the future:

Kale Hearthward Kaleduo finishes their breakdance spin, coming to a halt and then standing straight up.

Right Kale looks... not well. "Ugh... I think I'm going to throw up." He doesn't sound well, either.

But yeah - time to run! Left Kale goes to grab Spinda, Angela, Aidan's corpse, and whoever else needs a lift, and goes to run. With the battle fading, so does the feeling of the beat. Kale's moving at normal speed now, but his normal speed is still pretty fast!
Kuroto Dan      Genm Used A Reviver Seed!

Rocks fall on Genm, knocking him off the giant and immediately burning up another one of his valuable seeds (he's got an entire backpack's worth), as he stands back up on his two feet.

Defiantly, he points at the Regirock, and immediately begins to rant, his voice tearing itself apart as it becomes both raspy and screechy at the same time.

Genm: " Rocks?! Are you a simpleton? All that power and for what? You're little more than a raging beast. A sad existence, and I bet you don't even understand it in the slightest. When you think about it, being killed by me is not only an honor, but a mercy, you should consider yourself- Wait..."

The Pawniard trails off and looks at Tinkaton when he tells them to run, and while he really doesn't want to, he's not a complete idiot, he's just insane, which is different.

He doesn't have a fist to clench, but the way his little blade arms vibrate is the closest thing he can do before he awkwardly runs off with the rest of the group.
Timespace Riders      As the mountain crumbles, and his king catches ragged breaths, Woz does not take respite. Something is unusual--a gnarl in the skein of timespace. His tail twitches, and though his posture is seemingly relaxed, he is coiled like a spring.

The book is procured. With narrowed eyes, he hurriedly flips through the pages. They are seemingly blank, but this is only true of someone who has not been instructed how to read what is written there.

???? used DOOM DESIRE!

A terse -whump- sounds as Woz's paw forces the tome shut. As ever, its title squirms and evades comprehension. The clasp, resembling the metal band of a fine analog watch, locks firmly into place.

Woz: "I fear that the loom of fate is... contested."
Sougo: "Huh...? What do you mean, Woz?"
Woz: "Our actions here today have drawn the attention of another actor. One distinct from Celebi."
Sougo: "Who? What happened?"

Woz purses his lips, and looks out over the horizon, at the coastline.
Woz: "I am uncertain, sire--their name was obscured from me."
Woz: "What I am certain of is that an alteration was made within the fourth dimension."
Woz: "A future--an omen of doom--was decided upon, which we now approach."

Sougo frowns, and sits up, his bushy tail curling thoughtfully.
Sougo: "...so, things will only get harder from here."

Woz inclines his head slowly in confirmation.

Sougo: "I wonder if it was the person Celebi mentioned in my dream..."
Sougo: "What was the name? ...J something."

The little Demon King ponders it for a moment, then gives a weary smile.
Sougo: "Even if it's difficult... I still believe in what we're doing."
Sougo: "I still believe in Spinda."
Angela Angela thinks to herself as she spins around wildly about how nice it is to actually be supportive of someone who could really benefit from a little bit of support instead of just having to be exceptionally critical for no reason. It's nice, she thinks, almost like a vacation to her old self.

And it's hard to not be charmed by Spinda--and, indeed, is able to lend a hand by pointing out the very important item Spinda just dropped--

--allowing Spinga to insert the Verdant Gem into the Anchor. Which was supposed to...

...Help.

The Anchor shatters as if in rebuttal and the dungeon starts to collapse. Cinder, jostled awake by tremors, wakes up and says, "Oh fudge!" as she gets up to her feet and starts running.

Angela will of course be carted around with wherever Spinda's going.

Cinder takes a moment on the ground to take in the mountain collapsing in on itself and lets out a low whistle. "You brought down a mountain, Spinda." She says.

Angela admires this from whatever bizarre position she is in for a moment before an alarm goes off and she has to quickly step away from the monitor to make sure Shajo doesn't get eaten by the Big and Will Be Bad Wolf.
Hellwarming Trio The Verdant Gem makes its way into the pillar, and the Anchor breaks. That gets all three of the youkai Pokemon to start freaking out, partially because of the lurching feeling, and partially because it's collapsing with everyone stil inside. They don't get a chance to celebrate their victory over the Regirock, but they also don't miss a beat when it comes to starting their escape.

Utsuho and Rin just happen to be sporting huge bruises on their faces, coincidentally.

Still, none of them need to be told twice, and they're already running/flying after Tinkaton as everything starts crumbling behind them. If they happen to see someone in the way, they'll even restort to trying to scoop them up, but more likely than not?

Satori's probably going to be one of the slowest ones out. Even she manages to make it out just in time, though, and the trio collapse in a heap to see the mountain collapsing behind them. They look over at the Kales, nod weakly, then collapse back into their pile of bodies.

Rin: "Looks like we all got outta there fine!"
Utsuho: "Head's still.. Buh. Eh, I can take this little bit."
Satori: "Of course, dear. But..."
Satori: "Spinda... What happened in there? You..."
Satori: "You did great. Shall we head back and get something to eat?"
