Desire Stars SEVEN MINUTES AGO...

                                  GATHER ROUND

The next summons of the DGP is substantially less crowded than the first. Twelve Riders out of the initial fifty remain. The space atop the Desire Temple seems barren and empty, where before it seemed scarcely sufficient for the burgeoning crowd. Neon arrives holding the practice replica of the Propeller Buckle she'd gotten.

"Our data indicates that two more waves of Zombie Jyamato are en route," states Tsumuri, gesturing behind her towards a blue hologram display screen behind her. Red dots labeled "B" inch across an area on the map that seems to be in the vicinity of a hydroelectric plant. "Wave C has yet to appear on our scans, but we know of their existence from an invasion in a prior tournament."

Ace frowns. That would be one of the ones that was 'lost,' it seems.

"And the outbreak won't be over until the last wave is dealt with?"

"Correct. Wave B appears to be heading for a hydrolectric plant along this river." Little picture-in-picture windows shows plant workers unaware, working on maintenance.

"That plant... it powers m-- it powers a hospital in the area," says Takahito, the HR manager who'd survived the previous round as the crested-penguin themed Kamen Rider Gin-Pen. He looks panicked, the realization rendering him pale in the face. "Please, send us there as soon as possible!"

    Tsumuri nods.

Kanato, who was silent in the previous round after having picked a fight with Petra, has been fixing Neon with a silent scowl the whole time. He scratches his arm, and then focuses his attention on the map.
Desire Stars NOW...

Riders and Elites find themselves deployed to the same area. The former can count on the Desire Temple's teleportation technology. The latter, in the event that they don't have an expedient means of arriving, can count on a ride from an unmarked helicopter that deposits one right outside the barrier of the Jyamar area, itself opening up for you and closing behind as it has before.

If it weren't for the circumstances of your being here, this riverside city would have a placid kind of beauty to it that belies its size. The abandoned cars, the pristine state of the high rises and roads, and the size of the hospital in the distance speak to a higher than average median income.

The red, barbed-wire-motif forcefield of the Jyamar Area encloses it, cutting it neatly in half. It was evacuated shortly before the establishment of the forcefield, but not everyone was able to make it in time. The power plant that the Zombie Jyamato are headed for is within walking distance, and you'll be able to beat them there if you're quick.

The main building is, in comparison to the rest of the city, pretty unassuming. It's a long, squat two-story building on a flat clearing overlooking the river, painted a drab grey with barred windows that are beginning to show their age. The building, and the asphalt parking lot around it, are occluded from the view of city residents by a half-circle of strategically planted trees.

A skeleton crew remains, not so much to keep the plant operational but because they were the last to leave when the 'chemical spill' was reported. And that's where the problem lies: the maintenance workers and technicians all have their own ideas about how to stay safe. Two are on the roof of the complex, which is only working for as long as it takes the Zombie Jyamato to start piling on top of each other to clumsily scale the side of the building.

Another three, technicians in distinctive white hardhats and light blue jumpsuits, are trying in vain to find a gap in the forefield, which lights up at their presence and, naturally, draws attention to them.

Speaking of 'drawing attention...' Kamen Rider Mary, the bighorn sheep-themed persona of the shady, vaguely sleazy Morio Koganeya, is doing exactly that. "Hey! Zombies! Over here!" he shouts, waving down a gaggle of approaching Zombie Jyamato. He purposefully leads them towards a cowering engineer hiding behind a transformer in a chain link pen. "C'mon, miss kitty!" he conspiratorially calls to Na-Go, before 'heroically' shouting "Stop right there!!" to the very zombie Jyamato he'd led over to the engineer.

"Hey!" Na-Go protests, taking off with the Propeller Buckle to keep the zombie Jyamato off of the terrified engineer, driving one of them off with a kick while Mary 'protects' the engineer using the Shield Buckle. "That's seriously not okay," she shouts over the den at Mary.

Da-Paan, the panda-themed Rider, scoffs. But... "Hey," he says to Na-Go, from his vantage point atop an emergency generator, "There's some more that way. If you wanted to work together." He nods to indicate the direction, as Geats picks off a straggler with a blast from his Magnum Shooter.
Phantom Thieves GATHER ROUND

"Right now?"

Limelight regretfully puts the heist planning session aside, and gets ready to costume switch and code switch.

---

Clover arrives at the top of the temple. "Okay, ready to... go?"

She looks around. "We're... missing a lot of people, huh."

Maybe she has a chance at winning this or getting something out of this without cheating?

... Nah. Best to start cheating, just to be safe. And besides, she's been sandbagging too *much* recently. Pushing things in the other direction for a bit won't be that much of a risk.

Off we go! "Hen Shin!" She's still saying it wrong.

As she heads into the danger zone, a few little things shed from her clothing, like sand sheds from an imajin. The little things don't move at first, just in case anyone spotted them, but as the riders spread out, the little things come to life - tiny computer chip spiders that start taking up key positions throughout the area.

Kamen Rider Ka-On's HUD updates with a minimap. This is entirely nonstandard functionality enabled by an unofficial, unsanctioned add-on - is it cheating to use mods like this? The minimap gets filled in and updated as the little chip-spiders observe the movements of the zombies - and of the survivors and other Riders.

Ka-On gets into motion - using the map data to avoid the zombies as much as possible, and get to and rescue the survivors as fast as possible, starting with the ones on the roof. Of course, if her map data shows an unattended powerup along the way, she'll go for that too~
Ishirou Ishirou is flown on the helicopter, riding inside it and waiting for them to enter the field before he does anything.  He was already dressed in RESCUE, an armor suite set up to enhance his physical abilities and provide himself armor to protect his normally frail body.  Once they are in the field, he uses his scanners to measure what's happening and then jumps out of the copter.

Seconds later, armor seems to encapsulate him, turning into a flight unit, that changes from a more humanoid form to a jet form mid-air and takes flight towards the barrier.  Specifically towards where the workers are hitting the barrier trying to escape and flip around to transform back into humanoid form in the power armor.

Ishirou turns towards the oncoming Jyamato and fires a barrage of energy blasts towards the zombies.  "Stop beating on the wall, you're attracting them.  Get to cover and I'll cover you the best that I can," he calls towards the workers, before trying to get scans going about the rest of the field.  Where are the zombie Jyamato coming from, where are they clumping up the most, and where are people so he can best help direct traffic?
Odette Raskins SEVEN MINUTES AGO

"Even the Jyamato have to worry about zombie outbreaks? That's rough..." Odette finds herself sympathizing somewhat with those strange beings that have been the ongoing foes of the Kamen Riders in the DGP. How could she not? Friends turning against friends, families forced to make painful choices...

Wait. "Do Jyamato have families...?" She's never really thought about the Jyamato's anything until just now, but she can't quite get that idea out of her head even while looking at the display behind Tsumuri. Her eyes widen when Takahito explains the importance of that power plant, though, and she glances down at her Desire Driver while clutching the Spear Buckle in her hand tightly.

"W-we'll make sure they don' get anywhere near that plant. We've got to!"

NOW

The EMt, dressed in her DGP jacket rather than her usual one, still has her hands full between the Buckle firmly occupying one and the other fiddling with the Driver on her belt. There's little else for her to do on the helicopter, anyway, aside from making sure her medical bag is still chaotically organized just the way she likes it.

Once inside the field, Odette's attention is quickly grabbed by those technicians drawing attention to themselves outside. "H-hey! You should get away from the wall, or it'll keep bringing more of those z-um. G-guys here!" She warns, trying not to freak them out even as she looks rather freaked out herself by those Jyamato being brought over already.

Unlike last time, however, Odette's actually ready to transform. She even knows how to do it properly this time, and goes as far as tossing her medical bag aside so it doesn't get messed up by the transformation. She raises her right elbow above her head in a salute-like motion while crossing her left arm past her waist on the same side, forming an R-like shape with her arms and torso. With a forced smile, she tries to look as confident as she can as she shouts "Hench-"

Wait. She looks down at her legs, then around briefly. Did Clover just say henSHin? Has she been practicing the wrong word this whole time? All the bluster and confidence from before fades as Odette lowers her arms to her sides, muttering "Henshin..." and activating her Driver while looking and sounding like she'd rather be hiding in some ditch somewhere.

              KAMEN RIDER ZUMINE

Once again, the black DGP Rider suit comes on, and a brown and white helmet slides on over Odette's head with half-flopped ears and a crest over the forehead tapered like a mouse's nose. With little much in the way of fanfare, she scoops up her bag, then starts running at a cluster of zombies while jumping and waving her free hand high in the air.

"Uh.. H-hey, you! This way! I.. I got tasty brains, right in here!" She shouts, trying to goad them by moving in closer and tapping on the side of her helmet. Once she's a good lunge-distance away, however, Kamen Rider Zumine starts moving sideways around the Jyamato, lingering just close enough that she's very clearly trying to lure them away from those technicians at the barrier.
Angela Yuri is still miserable to the surprise of no one but she has been more talkative--focusing more on talking about other people's lives than her own at these DGP meetups. She has been focused on watching Kanato but is distracted when Takahito expresses his own sense of alarm. "Oh--alright yeah." She stands up. "If a hospital loses power that'd be real bad..." She pats Takahito on the arm. "Don't worry! We'l make sure we save it."

Of course it is easier to project that confidence than feel it. Truth is, she expects more trouble any day. She knows better than to trust a Wing no matter what they say and this kind of motivation--saving a hospital--is more real than her wish right now. She's not sure she has the right to ask for that wish anymore.

But she must. Isn't it the only way she can really atone?

She arrives on scene with her weird oversized toyetic bee summon--following similar color schemes as her armor--her arms wrapping tightly around it as she hasn't quite figured out how to transform it into something more vehiclelike yet. But it can at least fly so she can ride on in with it by holding on for dear life.

"Ok ok! My arms are killing me let me down...!" Yuri says before she lets go and lands a bit roughly on the ground, sliding on the Monster Buckle immediately since it is a powerup that only gets better the earlier you use it.

She personally feels she works best with Neon--sure she promised someone they'd save the hosspital but she feels like she makes a better team with Na-Go

Fuyubee runs over to the zombie Jyamato Mary led to an engineer, aiming to clobber it with a Monster Fist (non-finisher) to help protect the engineer, minus quote marks.

"Na-Go..." Yuri says. "..You're the one I know the best here. Good as any reason to work together right?" This is actually kind of true, Yuri hasn't really gotten to know many of the other Kamen Riders but she did watch some of Neon's videos and DID have to chase her down for an autograph which is how she suspects she got into this mess.
Hamada Haru Hamada Haru is present for the briefing this time, though he is already changed into Dynamic Era with his locust-themed brown-and-light-brown color scheme, dark eye lenses, and winged chest emblem. It's not easy to tell what he's actually planning to do-- but his head does turn slightly in response to Ace answering his question, and having it answered. Anything that guy says, evidently, is worthy of Dynamic Era's attention. Though, he does spare a glance for Neon and her printed propeller-- at the same time relieved to see it in use in that way, and revolted at the fact that it, too, is probably an unfair advantage. The possibility of printing practice weapons for the others occurs to him.

He's pretty certain it'll be too late for some of them after this deployment.

He ends up accompanying the deployment group-- at first fairly obtrusively, and then disappearing on account of deciding to shadow them from within solid earth. His concern, today, is split between Nago and the older gentleman, and he's been wavering distantly on which one of them to keep a closer eye on this entire time. Another unfair advantage is injected into the calculus, though-- he knows Nago's wish, and it bothers him enough that when the time comes to pick somebody to keep an eye on, he breaks for Nago, a ghostly presence drifting about on the peripheries.

But he doesn't end up helping either one of them-- in a rare moment of completely missing a spot check, Kamen Rider Mary does something truly despicable and ropes Kamen Rider Nago into it at the same time, and that pretty much switches off Haru's brain.

Dynamic Era emerges out of the ground like a horror movie monster and waves his gunblade, a series of protective barriers erecting themselves between the civilians being used as points-bait and the jyamato being led in that direction-- the ones that Nago engaged are entrusted to her (as are any others that are protected by other players), but Mary is pointedly blocked off from making contact with them.

Era flips his gunblade in hand, attaches it to his belt, and walks right through Mary. The only body part he leaves physically material is his left hand, with which he grabs Mary by the face and pulls him directly into the wall behind him with enough force to break it and pull the other Kamen Rider through, dragging him into an industrial room by one of his horns.

"I am not an arbiter of this game's rules," Dynamic Era growls, dragging Kamen Rider Mary haphazardly through what is most probably some kind of maintenance tunnel, banging him against whatever happens to be in the way. "So I will make this clear: As a former Kamen Rider, what you did just now is something I consider my responsibility to address. If I catch you doing something like it again, I will break your ID core. Then I will find you in your regular life, and make certain that you never possess power over another human being for the rest of your days."
Shinmyoumaru Sukuna Twelve Riders remain, and one of them is Kamen Rider Ochiba, AKA Shinmyoumaru Sukuna.

Shinmyoumaru is having second thoughts about this whole thing (which is surprising, if only because she barely had first thoughts about it, joining without a single worry) but is not willing to back out, either. Even disregarding the penalty, it's just not in her to give up like that.

She isn't quite sure what a hydroelectric plant is, but she doesn't really need to to accept the summons, and...

"Oh, it's a *dam*," Kamen Rider Ochiba says, suddenly understanding. It's not really a dam, but something kind of like it (most riverside hydro plants don't actually dam their entire river, certainly not if it's not a fast, large river) but it's close enough that she has an idea of what that is.

She makes up her mind almost immediately as to where to go, charging forward - because Shinmyoumaru feels a lot better when she's doing something, even if it isn't necessarily the best thing. Specifically, since she usually flies, she spotted the ones on the roof and is heading that way.

...but right now Shinmyoumaru *isn't* flying, as she isn't riding the bowl. She's just got the Kamen Rider suit she ended up in with the carp-themed helmet, her Mallet (currently at her side), and the Chain Array token she scooped up for breaking a cavalry line.

Well, she got rewarded for this once...

Her plan, thus, is simple: Shinmyoumaru pulls out the Chain Array en route, beginning to whirl it around, and simply tries to plow through the awkward pyramid of Jyamato like a spinning top! She's strking out in every direction whether she wants to or not... but there's a lot of them, and she doesn't want to be overwhelmed.

So after her whirling spin, Shinmyoumaru manages to pull on the power of her Mallet by twisting in such a way that the hammerhead bounces off her hip or thigh, shrinking down to a mere inch tall and simply running out of any dogpile they may be attempting, (hopefully) out of sight.
Dark Horses      Keiwa is silent at the explanation, mostly because it'd be rude to raise his voice, and mostly because he doesn't really know what to say. What is there to say, really? People will be in danger if they don't do something about these Jymato. Something that he assumes Gin-Pen is also worried about, given his worry about the hospital.

When they're transported in, Keiwa, now Tycoon, makes it his mission to find Gin-Pen, armed with only a crossbow. It really shouldn't prove too hard, given that the guy is just as new as him, so he's probably flailing around at the moment... Which is also the main reason he's looking for him. Right.

Michinaga meanwhile, is quiet during the debrief simply because he hates everybody here, and the less he has to talk to them, the better. Not like there's any questions that need to be asked either, it's all pretty straight forward. Reach the top, protect the building, he's done stuff like this plenty of times before. Hopefully, it'll also be his last time.

Arriving on the scene as Buffa, the purple-clad rider wastes zero time storming straight for the objective. No scouting, no planning, he's just going to go for it. It's reckless, sure, but he's got confidence in his abilities to quickly cut a path to where he needs to go before he's overwhelmed.
BB Being summoned to the Desire Temple to be one of twelve in attendance, instead of one of fifty, brings Jinako from emotionally fine right back into the moment of emotionally tested. Every part of the DGP, now, as a dream-grinding machine, seems to be a threat.

Jinako just so happens to be nearly invincible, except to feelings and frustrations.

"More zombies? Three waves? And... one's still to come?" Jinako asks, but is subsumed by the tones of conflict and the direness of the mission. Fifty to a dozen, and now they fought in the streets.

Consumed by the waves of guilt and lost lives, of being in a 'Death Game' once more, the stuttering-coward gamer woman hangs her head and light reflects off her broad glasses. "Then, I'll... try my best." She unconvincingly claims, and shortly is swept away by a teleportation ring to sweep her into the dangerous city. Out of all the other Riders there, she doesnt' really have a plan or a need, and her wish - her Dream, seems more far away and not less. Thrust into it anyway, and 'spawned'-or-teleported into an alley near the hospital area, Jinako swallows hard and backs into the side of the shooting-alley's accomodating-to-cameras width and cleanliness. "Even if... this is something that'll be worse before it gets better, I'll keep going. I have to *keep* going. So I will!"

Striking an again-impromptu pose, Jinako bumps the already-set Shield buckle on her DGP Driver with the palm of her hand and clenches her fist to declare:

"Henshin!" and the rings of armoring Rider transformations transition Jinako directly into shield-thrusting and sweeing away some of the zombies on the way to the Hospital -- and Gin-Pen, who had expressed such a personal desire and wish in its defense. "I know my buckle will give me score for defending people, so," Jinako frets, Kamen Rider Leffa decides, "I'll go as far as I can!"

Racing towards the front entrance of the Hospital and looking for Gin-Pen, Kamen Rider Leffa reluctantly takes the stage!
Desire Stars BGM

Gin-Pen isn't hard for Tycoon and Leffa to find. He's more cautious than the others, and his helmet keeps sweeping anxiously back to the hospital. They encounter him struggling through a 2-on-1, having been left to fend by Mary and Da-Paan. Gin-Pen is standing, fighting, but there's a desperation in his movements, as he swings his Armed Dagger. He's clearly trying to fight his way to the hospital, but he's going to gas himself out, if Tycoon and Leffa don't hop in for an assist!

    "For my wish...!"

Buffa, charging right in, finds plenty of targets. The buzzing of the Zombie Breaker's spinning teeth, as well as his aggressive fighting style, takes the heat off of Na-Go and Mary alike--or, at least, off of Na-Go. The danger of these Jyamato is getting mobbed and bitten. There are suddenly several more sets of hands trying to grab him, and unlike regular Jyamato these ones don't fight with the sense of awareness and self-preservation that the others do!

If I catch you doing something like it again, I will break your ID core. Then I will find you in your regular life, and make certain that you never possess power over another human being for the rest of your days.

"AH!!" Mary jumps in place, falling over. He has his dukes raised as he stands up, until he sees that Era isn't a Jyamato. "L-listen, buddy! If I had any 'power over other people,' I wouldn't be risking my ass for this wish crap, would I? But fine! Have it your way." He points at Geats, handily dispatching a trio of zombie Jyamato. "*I* can play nice. How about investigating Mr. Star over there, if you're so worried about the ~goodness of our intentions,~ huh? Or the 'World Peace' guy. Nobody actually wants that! It's just BS people say when they want to mug for the crowd." Mary barks a laugh--the kind you do when you're very sure that you're right and just waiting for everyone else to see it.

Geats glances over and gives a smug, self-satisfied up-nod at Era and Mary.

    "See?!"

Na-Go knocks a Jyamato flat with a cross, swinging the Armed Propeller for the kill. She hesitates... "I'm not going to work with you if that's how you're going to do things! At least Yuri and Kanato know who the bad guys are!"

It's way smarter to pretend to care about people if you want to win, or you'll make yourself a mark right off the bat. Idiot.

Da-Paan fires off a grenade from his Armed Launcher, the impact tearing up clods of earth and sending a group of charging Zombie Jyamato advancing on Na-Go and Fuyubee flying backwards. "I'm just sorry I acted how I did towards you, Na-Go," he says. "Come on, let's ditch this guy--I think I hear someone inside the building!"

He hops off the generator, clearing the chain link fence around the building and motioning for Na-Go and Fuyubee to follow. Zombie Jyamato pile up outside, and the sound of broken glass rings out above the din. Na-Go fells the remaining Jyamato threatening the engineer, gently ushering him towards Era with a pat on the back. She then looks at Fuyubee, her helmet dipping in an urgent 'let's go' nod, lifting off with the Armed Propeller to clear the fence and entering into the building from the ground floor behind Da-Paan.
Desire Stars     Fortunately for Zumine, zombie Jyamato are apparently mindless enough to be distracted by the yelling-and-shouting equivalent of keys jingling. Unfortunately for her, she has to get a little closer. When they notice her, some vestigial impulse awakens, and their shuffling is more spirited. Their swings are clumsy, but powerful, full of the strength of mindless aggression.

Stop beating on the wall, you're attracting them.

"R-right! Sorry!" The younger of the workers says to Ishirou, before he and his two compatriots hurry off, visibly grateful both for Zumine's distraction and Ishirou's barrage. The impacts of the energy blasts send the zombies flying--one of the direct hits dramatically sends one up in smoke.

The three of them are heading away from the plant, into town proper. Ishirou's scans show that *should* be safe, for the most part. The danger is that there's a horde of them yet to arrive, slowly shambling from the surrounding woodland towards the power plant. A number of them are breaking off and heading for the hospital by virtue of how large and disorganized the horde is. There's also the vanguard, which have breached the exterior fence of the plant and are trying to get in--Da-Paan, Na-Go and Fuyubee will surely have that covered, though.

Ka-On cheats--or so she'd call it. There is no complaint from the Game Master or from Era. Is it unnoticed? Is it *permitted?* Perhaps, horror of horrors, permitted because it's actually heroic? Perish the thought! Whatever the reason for the silence, be it ignorance or 'let her cook,' Ka-On can find much the same information that Ishirou had. There are... actually a lot of people still in that hospital. More than you'd think, for an evacuation situation. Either they didn't have any time, or it's some kind of specialist facility. Either way, surely there's good loot to be found by helping there!

Ochiba's Chain Array earns her a satisfying bevy of points that she can hear racking up even if she doesn't pull out her Spider Phone to check. When she shrinks to her normal size, the two or three Jyamato left standing from her all-out attack look between one another in sluggish confusion, before each being felled by a clean-up salvo from Geat's laser pistol.

"That's a hard one to use well," the fox-themed rider compliments. For once, not even backhandedly!
Ishirou Ishirou waves at the group of workers retreating.  Good for them, and he can keep up with them for a little bit to make sure they don't run into any zombies along the way.  Thankfully, it seems to be the case they'll be fine.  However, his scans reveal the hospital to be a target due to the disorganization of the horde.  The plant seems to be held effectively, so Ishirou flies towards the Hospital.

For those at, or coming to the hospital, they get a handshake protocol from Ishirou, who wants to help!  Using the magic he's got, he sends a boost towards the rider suits there, aiming to increase their power output and speed, while they also get little helper drones called OPTIONs that hang over their shoulders.  It'll provide a boost in firepower as well, aiming to shoot zombies down in greater numbers!

Inside, he starts directing traffic, aiming to try and get people to go up stories, and then to block off stairs and ways up, so that the zombie Jyamato can't break through.  He tries to coordinate this through hospital staff while providing instructions on proper zombie survival methods.
BB Jinako Carigiri - Kamen Rider Leffa - runs desperately though the hospital lobby, swinging her Shield through the scattering of local Jyamato Zombies as she moves through the wave towards Gin-Pen. Reckless and pushing, Leffa makes her way towards the furtive and desperate man, straight Shield-thrusting away a Jyamato Zombie from his flank as she falls in with the already over-his-head and desperate.

Leffa sets her somewhat pathetic plastic Shield on her right arm as a fully realized bulwark, trusting the resilient barriers at least if not the physical greeble.
[ansi(+gold,")]Gin-Pen, let's let Buffa take the front and wipe out all the Jyamato in this wave!" Jinako encourages the flagging Rider, knowing this *means* something to him, his dream. "Focus on back attacks! Tycoon and I can distract them!"

Forcing her way forward, Leffa pops her Armed Shield with a base-of-palm bop to the buckle at her waist driver, and the SFX wreaths her powered defense as she collapses a few zombies with a shining sweep of blue energy that doesn't do a lot of damage -- but still draws attention and reinforces her own defenses. As long as she can keep Gin-Pen on target and Tyconn together, their little party might save this place!

"They're not endless! We just have to defeat the wave!" Jinako surges, hoping as she clashes the Jyamato.
r
The Shield buckle is notoriously bad as an *offense* type-buckle. The tanky elephant certainly needs help to capitalize!
Hamada Haru "You don't understand me well enough to manipulate me, Kamen Rider Mary," Dynamic Era says, releasing the other man with a harsh shove. "I was born in this world. I grew up in this world. And I didn't get anything as nice as the offer of a wish for it. I do this because I want to. I don't often tell my enemies how they are making a mistake, but I'll make an exception this time. Understand--" He spreads both arms out wide in a grand illustrative gesture, "I do not care what Ace is up to. I do not care if Tycoon's words are hollow. I care about what has transpired within my line-of-sight. By the standards that you live by, I'm just a madman."

"There is nowhere for you to deflect me to, and no problem greater than a Kamen Rider who abuses their power as you just did. I do not take your ID core from a standstill because even your false heroism can still turn somewhat true," he concludes.

Dynamic Era is then given custody over several civilians-- he supposes he can't blame Nago for treating him as a safe zone. Whether she understands it or not, this is how you can manipulate him. He triggers his gunblade at his hip to generate a protective swarm of locusts and begins his escort-to-safety, but points towards Mary, "I won't be contemplating third chances. If I have to correct you again, I'll break your mask forever."

Then he turns and takes over the escort for the players who have pushed civilians into his broad sphere-of-influence. While he does so, he triggers his gunblade a second time and produces a... second Dynamic Era. The second Dynamic Era spreads locust-like wings from his back and flies up above the exterior of the area that Mary was accosted in, and simply... watches.
Phantom Thieves Ka-On assumes that it's going unnoticed. After all, nobody would deliberately let a famous evil supervillain thief into their competition, right?

Off we go! Stagehand's unsanctioned add-on takes Ishirou's data and adds it to his own minimap, displayed in Ka-On's HUD. The data sharing goes one way only, of course.

Up into the hospital, still trying to avoid fights in favor of rescues and lootboxes... though of course where it's needed Ka-On has some mean kicks, and where there's obstacles blocking her way she has some mean parkour skills.

... At the same time, Stagehand's little helpers take Ishirou's idea and run with it, blocking off stairs and creating obstacles... for the other riders, specifically trying to keep them from getting to the survivors and securing the rescues for themselves. Interference isn't against the rules as long as it's not a direct attack, right?
Angela ''I'm not going to work with you if that's how you're going to do things! At least Yuri and Kanato know who the bad guys are!''

"ahah..." Yuri says, feeling stabbed in the heart thirteen times. "...Yeah, I mean, mostly clear cut here, right?"

She gets a warning about the Jyamato heading to the hospital but she did just agree to work with Na-Go... abandoning her now to try and take out more jyamato like that would just be a show of not learning her lesson right? She clenches her fist. Petra got her all discombobulated about everything, got her...deviating from the plan ... She would've probably been caught anyway, but she could've fled L Corp and focused entirely on her wish but instead...

Now's not the time to think about this stuff, Yuri decides. Was it wrong for her to want to live? Was it wrong for her to want to be more than one of L Corp's many victims? The guilt grips her chest tighlty.

She likes Neon. She wants her to win if she can't and it's increasingly looking unlikely that she will. She runs after Na-Go. Those eyes are starting to open up. of course, she's not sure if using a move like that on zombie jyamato is really worth it. She can fight them just fine anyway and there might be some sort of 'elite' jyamato still lurking around.

Play the waiting game, Yuri thinks. You are good at that.

But she does glance back over to Era for a moment before moving on, following after Neon, clobbering the occassional stray Jyamato along the way.

"I don't know too many people like you," Yuri admits to Neon. "You're putting the job first--focusing on saving people--before just chasing after your wish through whatever means necessary. I guess it makes sense for this kind of game to encourage dirty tricks but I respect that about you Neon."
Odette Raskins Some of them are turning. Good! That's good. Not all of them are turning to face Zumine, though, and that's not so good. Maybe if she gets a little bit closer...? Yes, more of them do turn! More of them also swing at her, though, and they speed up enough that she's caught by surprise. She yelps as one of those swings comes dangerously close to hitting her head on, stopped only by pushing off hard enough that the swing only grazes her. It still sends her tumbling head over ass several times, but it gets her just far enough away that she can fumble her way back  onto her feet and fall back before they can swarm her.

That seems to buy enough time for those workers to get away, though, and Zumine's able fall back while jamming some extra-strength painkillers right into her arm to boot. "If they're still headed for the hospital and the power plant... Nnh. Please do your best!" She shouts in encouragement to Ishirou while bracing the Armed Spear against her shoulder and starting to run again.

She knows at least one of the waves is headed for the power plant, so all she needs to do (in theory) is spiral around it until she finds the Jyamato coming from the woods and start grabbing their attention with yet more figurative key jingling. It's much harder in practice, of course, since it's kind of terrifying just thinking about running in front of them. Knowing how hard they had hit with a glancing blow practically freezes her to the spot once she sees another grouping, and it's hard to even consider getting close enough to them that they chase her instead of continuing to the power plant.

Of course, the alternative is letting them destroy the plant and risk killing everyone in the hospital through complete system failures. Clutching the Armed Spear against her chest and breathing in and out shakily, Zumine starts forcing herself to move towards the zombies in the woods while yelling at them from between chattering teeth.

"C... C-come on, you! You couldn't catch me even if I... Uh. I-if I did this!" With little more than that moment of mental preparation, Zumine lets out the most ferocious battle cry she can (editor's note: not very) while charging right at the center first group she encounters, Armed Spear pointed right in front of her. She changes course at the last second to swerve around the group, circling around it dangerously close by so she can instead drive the weapon into a straggler closest to the back. She backs off quickly afterwards, swiping at the crowd with her spear a few more times while trying not to stay in range for too much longer.

She's also suddenly more thankful for those options floating by her and shooting at them, largely from the extra harassment potential of just letting them fire even when she's not swinging. Zumine continues hopping in and out of range against that first group for a bit longer, glancing around rapidly to make sure they're still following her as she starts advancing onto the next group in her expanding spiral around the power plant.
Shinmyoumaru Sukuna "Thanks! I practiced," Shinmyoumaru - Kamen Rider Ochiba - replies to Geats. "And thanks for shooting the last few!"

She doesn't un-shrink before she says that, so the voice comes from nowhere in particular at first, but after a few seconds she grows back to her usual four-foot size, giving a thumbs-up as she does. And she really *did* practice, after her slightly embarrassing performance with the Chain Array the first time... she put a weight on her hook and got used to swinging it around, then tried with the Array proper.

She waves up at the people on the roof. "Stay out of sight!" she calls. "But if they start to climb up, maybe you can drop something on them? They're really bad at climbing, they have to stack up! I have to go..."

Because there's a lot more of them, as Ishirou has told her. And everyone else. Some of them are shambling in from the woodland toward the power plant, and - because that's where she is - those are the ones that Ochiba is preparing to handle.

She considers her options for a moment. She's never been penalized for using her Mallet before as long as she doesn't try to hit anyone with it, and usually she doesn't, so that's not really a problem. She just needs to find what she's looking for...

Shinmyoumaru finds a round rock. That'll do, she thinks, and sets it delicately down in front of her before tapping it with her mallet.

"Be a boulder!"

Very shortly, the rock *is* a boulder - taller than most of the humans here, still surprisingly round. Shinmyoumaru hops up on it and starts to run, rolling it - though she finds out that it rolls exactly the way she doesn't expect it to and has to turn around, running in such a way as to make the rock roll.

She's going to get it rolling at the incoming zombie jyamato and then hop off, letting it bowl into them while she prepares to fight ones that get past it!
Dark Horses      "Hey, wait!"

Tycoon finally catches up to Gin-Pen, only to have him run off yet again. He realizes this is really a free for all, but still... Well, at least there's Leffa... Who also runs off, kinda. She's got a plan though, but he really doesn't have time to do anything like offer his own suggestions or stuff like that.

Not that he'd really have anything to say still.

"Huh?! Uh, yeah, I got you!"

Taking advantage of both Buffa and Leffa basically drawing all of the aggro, Tycoon takes the time to find a rather safe spot to crotch down and line up his shots, taking aim at the jyamato's backs whenever he can to try and pick them off while also slowly following whenever the others get too far.

Buffa, meanwhile, notices that there are other riders behind him, which probably means he's falling behind somewhat possibly, but he can't really pick up the pace, as despite getting a rather good pace in, the grabbing hands of the jyamato's are making it hard to continue.

He struggles for a bit, before putting all of his strength into yanking an arm free as he spins the buckle on his driver around.

                                   REVOLVE ON!

Buffa's entire body does a cartwheel as the armor on his upper body switches to his lower half, granting him better leg strength and, more importantly, another way to attack, as he now kicks away the remaining zombies with clawed feet.

He looks over his shoulder once to see if Tycoon and the other riders are behind him, before simply clicking his tongue and running off the power plant yet again. Ace isn't there, which is all he needed to know, especially since he doesn't particularly feel like babysitting.
Desire Stars Focus on back attacks! Tycoon and I can distract them!

                                 DAGGER STRIKE!

Gin-Pen's underhand slash with the Armed Dagger was made in desperation, but the handle is gripped more firmly, more surely, with the arrival of two unexpected allies. As one Jyamato's strike bounces off of the shield, the edge of Gin-Pen's weapon crosses up over another zombie Jyamato, a burning purple aftershock whips into it along the same trajectory, lifting it into the air. It flies upward for a second before violently exploding.

The penguin-themed Rider heaves a sigh of relief, short-lived though it may be. Ishirou's help fills him with a vigor he didn't know he had, and his next glance towards the hospital isn't so much anxious as it is determined. "Thank you," he says, to Leffa and Tycoon, without taking his eyes off the building in the distance. "...there's nothing in that hospital that will help bring world peace, and I doubt there's anything there that will grant your ideal world, either, Leffa. But..."
Desire Stars They're not endless! We just have to defeat the wave!

"My son is in there," he says, after a weighty pause. "So it doesn't matter to me, if they're endless or not. My ideal world... is one where he can have a normal life." His voice falters. "If I can't protect him now, there's no reason for me to even be here." The older man stifles a shaky breath. "Help me, if you want to. But don't feel like you have to."

With that, Gin-Pen makes a beeline for the hospital. Tycoon and Leffa can keep pace with him, and the three blitz through the city thanks to Ishirou's assistance. "I'm... going to check on him," says Gin-Pen to his allies. "I'll be back out to keep them away from the ouside in a minute."

With that, he's in... and at his increased speed, he finds himself plowing into one of Ka-On's saboteur barricades and tumbling headlong through the hospital's lobby. He crashes through an abandoned central desk, but wills himself to stand up as his momentum halts.
Desire Stars Ka-On's Spider Phone buzzes with a sizeable point subtraction, and an automated message.

Harassment and/or sabotage of other players will result in a point deduction.

The staff, working according to Ishirou's instructions, have shut off the elevators, barricaded the stairs, and most importantly, moved the patients away from the ground floors. At first, Gin-Pen's searching is panicked--but empty beds in this kind of number offer the barest glimmer of hope. "Moved," he says to himself. "At least, I hope..."

Shattered glass snaps him from his reverie, as the ground floor lobby is host to a swarm of filtering-in Jyamato. Outside, Leffa and Tycoon will have plenty to deal with, as a smaller horde breaches the treeline.

The sound of fists beating into barricades sends Gin-Pen into a bellowing charge. "As if I'd let you!!" His heel crashes into the shin of a Jyamato, forcibly kneeling it for a followup plunge with the Armed Dagger. That one defeated, the older Rider catches the other's swinging limb hand hurls it with a circle throw, sending it flying all the way out into the courtyard where Leffa and Tycoon are. His leg sweeps a third, forcing it to crash to the ground. One by one, Jyamato crash through the emptied lobby, but the crashes grow farther and farther apart. For every invader crushed and batted away, another two appear. The matte black armor of Kamen Rider Gin-Pen disappears, briefly, in a crowd of ten zombie Jyamato. One last defiant roar escapes him as he musters the remaining strength conferred to him by Ishirou, a brutal trade of blows destroying the Jyamato to the last.

Gin-Pen's armor dissipates, and Takahito Taira, sweating heavily, falters in his stance. He staggers through the disheveled lobby, a small memento held in his hand. He collapses into an office chair at the unattended central desk, flipping open a directory and reaching for a phone. The crackling of his driver doesn't bother him, as he waits for a nurse to pick up. It's the only way he's going to find out, without tearing those barricades down--and that would just make things worse.

"I know you're busy. I'm... one of the people helping, with the monsters. Could you tell me... my son was in 114. Is he alright?" he pauses, waiting for an answer. The answer he receives washes over him like a wave, and his body relaxes, every bit of tension gone. "I'm glad. Thank you." The phone drops from his hand, as his ID Core cracks.

MISSION FAILED

Takahito Taira does not join Leffa and Tycoon outside. His memento, a photograph, gently tumbles to the floor, without a hand present to hold it.
Desire Stars I won't be contemplating third chances. If I have to correct you again, I'll break your mask forever.

Mary clenches his fist and extends an index, his hand shaking as if keeping it clenched also keeps a lid on whatever it is he's about to say.

"You got it, chief!" is what comes out instead of whatever retort he probably wanted to say. When Era flies overhead to watch through his duplicate, he does see Mary making an 'honest' effort. Which is to say, he's gone back to the standby of using the Shield Buckle like a petulant lone wolf, ineffectively using its special attack to bowl over Jyamato and then bludgeoning them into submission with repeated chip damage. At least he's not screwing anyone but himself over this way. It's also pretty obvious to Era that he's taking out his frustrations on them, for however much that matters.

I guess it makes sense for this kind of game to encourage dirty tricks but I respect that about you Neon.

Now it's Na-Go's turn to feel a pain in the chest. "Well... I mean... doing all of this gets me my wish, doesn't it? It's not that I don't appreciate the thought, but..."

"Come on, Na-Go," says Da-Paan, clapping her on the shoulder. A little too hard. "You should take what she says to heart."
Desire Stars INSIDE THE PLANT... (Na-Go, Da-Paan, Fuyubee)

There aren't any civilians in this first room, at least. Bulky, complex terminals line the walls, with an observation catwalk hanging from the ceiling. "Especially since it's gonna cost you the game."

    "Huh? What are you..."

"Heads up!" Da-Paan shoulders the Armed Launcher, and Na-Go and Fuyubee have just a moment to get out of the way before Da-Paan brings down the catwalk. The noise indoors is deafening. Ears ring, rubble settles, and Da-Paan's chilling, full-chested laughter rises above it all. "Oops! Guess we're stuck in here now." The heavy catwalk portion forms an impromptu barricade against the doors they'd entered through. "No problem!" Another -thoonk- from the Armed Launcher blows one of the barred windows wide open. If Buffa and Era hadn't heard the first, they'll certainly hear -that- one. Crowds of zombie Jyamato funnel in, falling over each other to do so.

Still, Da-Paan laughs. Na-Go gets to her feet from a dive, grabbing him by the collar-line of his matte black breastplate and shaking him. "What's your problem--AHHH!"

Da-Paan's head dips forwards, followed by a wet crunch. Na-Go screams, and Da-Paan shoves her to the ground, wiping the faceplate of his helmet with his forearm.

Attacking other players will result in a point deduction.

"You taste like crap," Da-Paan exults. None of the zombie Jyamato seem to stop him as he heads for the intact portion of the catwalk, to make his exit through the hole in the wall.

Outside, Ochiba's pebble-turned-boulder crushes the Jyamato yet to enter the power plant, depriving Da-Paan of an easy pair of eliminations. Poking his head out of the hole in the wall just in time to see it, Da-Paan utters a seething sigh, looking slowly up in frustration. Sorry, Buffa, but it looks like you'll be doing some babysitting after all.

At the treeline, Zumine's efforts seem to be effective--the zombie Jyamato are disorganized and easily led away from the crowd, which means her hit and fade attacks are really good for picking them off in manageable numbers.

The coordinated assault, overall, coupled with the effort in getting civilians to safety (and enforcing 'safety'), seems to be slowly but steadily thinning the herd. The Riders near the hospital receive an influx of bonus points. Ka-On, in particular, receives a Raise Buckle, despite her drop in the standings. What kind of mixed messages are these people sending?
Ishirou One of the OPTIONs flies back to Ishirou, clamping back onto where it was detached to, and resubmerges back into his subspace pocket.  This coincides with the signal of Gin-Pen being lost.  Ishirou was so busy coordinating efforts and trying to support the other riders that he...

Nearly missed it.  What does he do... or say?  He tries to reach out trying to speak to Gin-Pen but nothing comes back to him.  Just empty static.  Ishirou closed his eyes for a moment, hearing just earlier what the man's wish was, supporting him up until he pushed himself to this moment.  He realizes there isn't anything to say, and the best thing he can do is to make sure the hospital can survive without losing anyone else.

Ishirou continues his efforts, Lasers from POD fill the air as he aims to try and keep the heat on the horde itself.  Shots rain down, until he lands near another group trying to break into the hospital, and charges a laser sword.  It flashes, swinging in a wide arc and driving the group back.  This is followed by a blast from the laser core, releasing focused energy bursts through whatever groups of Jyamato.

He can at least do this.  Even if it seems like right now this isn't enough.
Angela Fuyubee follows Da-Paan in. She's a little suspicious but that doesn't actually help because she steps forward--but Da-Paan's already firing at the crosswalk past them. Yuri throws herself out of the way lest she be crushed by rubble and is slower to get up after than Neon is. She pushes up to her feet, slowly, swinging out a hand to steady herself. "What the hell..." Fuyu(ri)bee says. "Is ''your'' problem--betraying people right NOW isn't even tactically--"

But she definitely has no expectation of what Da-Paan does next, not even a little. He just outright... bites Neon!?

Meanwhile at LobCorp...

HERE TO HELP HOD!

"Remember!" Hod chirps merrily. "Even with Petra here, there's always a chance that an employee will go a little crazy and start attacking your fellow Agents! They might be transformed, corrupted, or just plain stressed out! Fortunately L Corp has a foolproof strategy for handling this surprisingly common situation!"

A slide appears behind her as the new agents nod along. On the slide is just a cartoon picture of Nonon punching MIkey, whose eyes have been replaced by x's,in the face.

"That's right! Beating up fellow employees will help clear away their stress and can even undo transformations, corruptions, or mind control! Just be sure to not punch them until they die unless there's really no helping it! Remember, if it's to an inch of their life, you're alirght! But if they die, kiss your bonus goodbye!"

NOW

Fuyubee doesn't run to check on Neon--that's not the training--she instead lets out an angry yell and aims to tackle Da-Paan from behind as instinct and training take over and punch him repeatedly in the head!
Hamada Haru Dynamic Era finishes his civilian rescue, ushering his escorts away from the danger zone-- and for good measure, building them a safe structure. His other self continues to watch over things from above, and he keeps a close watch on Mary. All of this means that, ultimately, he isn't there for Gin-Pen or Na-Go when they get into trouble. He's not even aware that anything happens to the former, and won't be until he checks the tablet he has as a VIP. Instead, he's making his way back towards the combat zone at a relatively leisurely pace...

He doesn't get to hear the exchange between Da-Paan and Na-Go, but he does hear the laughter, the first explosion, and observes the second one. Both iterations of Dynamic Era turn in that direction, for a few instants freeing Mary of direct observation... and then one of them crosses A to B in an instant. It's not the duplicate, who adopts a winged appearance and flies in that direction to set up secondary interference if need be.

Haru arrives just in time to walk right through a wall and hear //You taste like crap.//.

He stops, draws his gunblade, and swings it in a semicircle that clears him some breathing room-- and maybe the others around Da-Paan, but if so it's only incidental. Then he de-transforms.

    "Da-Paan, was it?"

He tosses his hair as he pulls the broken-looking Driver he has brandished a few times from his jacket and affixes it to his waist. It remains quite broken-looking, and the "ID Core" that he pulls out is also cracked down the middle, though not in precisely the same way that a broken Desire Driver core might be. The mystery driver hums to life as the core is inserted, a fissure that runs from just beneath the socket to just above it gleaming with pulsing red light. Unsocketing his gunblade's 'gun' component from the blade, he slams the edge of the barrel into the core.

                                    COMPLETE

Red lines shot through with cracks work their way across Haru's body, a matte black armor trimmed in damaged materializing-- a little heavier than entry armor, a little lighter than what he previously wore. The helmet itself materializes damaged, though it has a yellow-lensed helmet instead of a black-lensed one. The entire left half of the helmet has been split apart, and the dark-haired young man is plainly visible through it. Haru pulls the trigger a second time, and disconnects the gun-portion from his driver as it announces:

                                 EXCEED CHARGE

The distinctive red lines that makes up the suit's trim light up from left hand to arm, while the Kamen Rider with a broken mask re-affixes his blade to his gun. Sparks shoot out of the armor at the portions where the transformation is compromised, bursting into the environment violently before it reaches the gauntlet portion.

"Deletion Protocol, Kamen Rider Da-Paan. Deletion protocol, Jyamato." The Kamen Rider without a mask declares to his gunblade, dispassionately. This is not a reflection of his feelings at all. Inside, the man is blazing.

The red light gleams on the edge of Haru's gunblade and he swings it. It extends to the full breadth of the portion of the building he's walked into but completely ignores everything else in its path besides the jyamato and Da-Paan-- including Fuyubee, and anyone else who moves to try to deal with the problem.
Shinmyoumaru Sukuna Shinmyoumaru had been completely and utterly unaware of the possible team-killing occuring inside, because *she* had decided that it would be easier to fight outside, where she could stop them from getting to the plant in the first place.

(She's wrong, granted; her powers are a lot more useful in a cluttered space, even though the Chain Array is the opposite, as she needs a lot of room to swing it. But it was Shinmyoumaru's thought.)

All she'd been trying to do was get some points from rolling the boulder through the incoming zombies. Kamen Rider Ochiba has been doing pretty well on the wide sweeping attacks, after all...

And indeed she's been keeping it up for the final parts of the assault. There's a lot fewer of the zombie jyamato than there were before, and some of them are after Zumine rather than trying to approach the power plant. She knows there are a bunch of Kamen Riders inside (she doesn't know that half of them are now trying to beat up each other, more's the pity) so she assumes she's safe to help.

"Hey!" she calls to Kamen Rider Zumine, waving her hand. "Do you need a hand?" Shinmyoumaru isn't really waiting for a response - if she comes across a lone Jyamato that's trying to find the other Kamen Rider, she's going to swing the Chain Array into it, using a snapping movement more like a giant whip than the reckless, uncontrolled sweeps she's done before.

And if she can find any treasure boxes out here, more's the better. They're still giving those out, right? Shinmyoumaru isn't quite sure about that.
Odette Raskins More progress is being made! Sure, it's pretty slow since Zumine isn't a seasoned fighter, and it's tiring enough just bringing one or two Jyamato down at a time, but she's starting to get the hang of handling the crowd a little bit at a time. A few attempts are made to sweep their les out from under them, but a combination of not knowing how to actually use a polearm, combined with being too scared to get close enough to hook the weapon behind their legs for proper tripping, means she's mostly just bashing their legs while backing away until she can actually stab them on the ground.

She doesn't hear much from the rest of the contestants, though, and that's starting to worry her. Buffa and Geats are old hats at this, at least, but what of the others that are in the same boat as her? Or... At least a similar new-Rider boat? "Leffa? Ka-On? Gin-pen? Tycoon? Na-Go? Fuyubee? Ochiba? Dynamic? Ishirou?"

Did she forget anyone? What if they're in trouble? No, they'd call out if they were in trouble, right? Unless the zombies got the jump on them, anyway. Zumine's gaze keeps going every which way, and she almost misses that several of the zombies she's been luring around have finally gotten arranged into a convenient line right in front of her.

She hasn't tested this capability of the Armed Spear before, but it couldn't hurt now that she's seeing the perfect opportunity to try it out. She tosses the spear up briefly before catching it in a throwing grip with one hand, the other hand moving to her belt to get the charging process for the weapon going.

            SET! ARMED SPEAR

"Gotta get this aimed just right... Gotta catch up with everyone else...!" She mutters to herself as the Armed Spear flares to life with all manner of loud noises and flashing lights. She wills herself into sprinting the few steps necessary to build up momentum and launch the Armed Spar right at the line of Jyamato to finally see if it can be used like a handheld ballista or something!

"Hey!" "Do you need a hand?"

"Huh?" Zumine looks over at Ochiba as she hears that familiar voice, exhaling in audible relief while completely failing to see if her gambit with that spear even worked the way she hopes. "O-oh, Miss Shin-um. Miss Ochiba! I-I wouldn't say no, but where's... Is everyone else okay? Are the hospital and the power plant secure?"

Apparently, she doesn't know a thing about what happened to Gin-pen yet.
Phantom Thieves Crouched in a stairwell, away from the action for a moment, Ka-On pulls out her phone...

> Harassment and/or sabotage of other players will result in a point deduction.

... They know?

Ka-On frowns at her phone - not strictly visibly behind her Kamen Rider helmet, but the body language is unmistakable. They know.

... How *much* do they know, is the question running through her head right now.

*How* do they know, is the other question she's pondering. The mental treatments Stagehand came up with have beaten every psychic the duo have come across so far...

The Spider Phone is put away again. "No sabotage," she says quietly, ostensibly to herself - in reality to be picked up by Stagehand via her HUD's addon. With that, the barricading stops.

The point deduction stings. She'll have to push harder to make up for the loss of points. At least it looks like players are still being knocked out, so she's climbing the ranks just by surviving.

Ka-On gets up and sets out to go start putting in the work - and her foot bumps into a box at the doorway to the stairwell.

"... Was that there before...?" she whispers.

Her HUD flashes a red X. No, it wasn't.

---

                                      SET!

Kamen Rider Ka-On bursts back into the midst of the zombie horde, a new buckle inserted into the left side of her driver. The main body of the buckle is wood-paneled and square, like an ornate house door... with a large keyhole lock as the main ornamentation in the center, and an antique single-tool lockpick as the handle.

Ka-On grabs the handle and works it - gently, pushing it in, turning it, pushing and turning again...

BINDING ON ONE, TWO, AND THREE!

The keyhole lock on the buckle clicks, and the background door pops open slightly. Armor appears - it looks like flexible cloth and includes a cape, and a second masquerade mask that overlays on top of Ka-On's existing base form.

                              THIEF! READY, FIGHT!

"Here we go," says Ka-On, as her new weapon appears in her hands as well - an ornate quarterstaff. With that in hand, she swings, making large motions to corral and crowd control the zombies together, planting the quarterstaff into the ground and vaulting over them to evade attacks, and then slamming her fist on the top of her driver-

                                  REVOLVE ON!

And - she's gone?

Oh - no, she's reappeared *behind* the zombies. Thief's alternate mode is stealth, and now she's tearing into them with the Armed Claw buckle before they can get a bead on her again!

---

> What kind of mixed messages are these people sending?

That's easy. If you're going to cheat, then make sure it's worth it.
BB Leffa, trying to get out ahead of Gin-Pen and Tycoon to open up space for them and force her own way through the zombies with the breadth of her shield, still needs Gin-Pen's Dagger, Tycoon's aimed shots, or Buffa's grinding break blades or flashing zombie kicks to *actually* make a breakthrough. Despite drafting some points off of her attention-drawing thanks to the passive effects of her shielding Buckle, it doesn't *matter* to her that her score goes up.

Leffa isn't fighting for points. "I'll take their attention, so--!" Jinako urges, shoutingly desperate while simply suit-kicking and then shouldering in to a Zombie Jyamato with the broad side of her shielded forearm.

She just has a shield. She just needs keep going, for everyone else, and it'll be okay. Jinako tells herself this as Leffa, the 'masked rider', doesn't show her sweaty, teary-eyed face. Gin-Pen's driving strashes defeat the ones she tackles for, and even leaving Tycoon behind a little (since he's got that ranged weapon! rDPS, adjust!!), Leffa pushes towards the crowds.

But she's just a gamer. She advances at the cowardly-sprint of someone *avoiding* danger, not screamingly running towards it. She can't keep up with Gen-Pen and he pulls away into the big crowd.

"*Wait*!" Jinako -- not the hero, but the woman, pleads. "Please! Gin-Pen" Leffa trumpets. Without even pumping her buckle, she swings out and slams a cyan field of force through several Jyamato and blasts them comedically out a window, but doesn't even linger for the dramatic cutaway.

Running, pushing through to the office the fading-fizzling armored Gin-Pen retreats into, Jinako Carigiri pushes through the office and stops just as the door swings behind her. Her Rider armor disengages -- thoughtlessly pulled free as Jinako hustles around a table fretfully, hearing a crack and grimacing, hearing his words and deepning her despair, but the jeans-and-tanktopped brown haired woman with DGP Driver at her waist comes upon the chair-sitting and expiring father.

"Gin-Pen -- Takahiko-san!" Jinako blubbers, hands reaching for the man's arm as he asks about his son. Taking hold of him, to hug, to press her head into his chest, to wish him better, to wish him well as the cracks deepen in his gamified wish, his realized soul.

"You don't have to go. We can go see your son! We can--" She falters as the cracks deepen audibly, and the man's relief comes over him as a wash. "I can wish for two things! I want this too, *please*, just --" Stay in a closet, stay somewhere safe, this time she *gets* it, this time she's cheating, this time she'll do it right, *let* it be this time she does it *right*!!

                                 MISSION FAILED
BB Gin-Pen fades into nothing, so much particles and pieces of washed-away personage. A father who wanted something better for his precious son erased because of--

Because of--

Jinako reaches down into the empty chair where a Kamen Rider was, and picks up a humble knife from the ashes. A simple, ineffective, weak weapon, given to a pure dream.

"Okay." Jinako Carigiri nods, not feeling the warm wet on her face as she nods, snorting away phlegm. "114. I've got it."

---

Blasting out of the door of the office, Leffa appears, retransformed, though her belt bears two buckles. Close to her destination already, the not-so-swift rider simply barrels through Jyamato and crushes them in trampling underfoot and smashing-pulping shield attacks, pressing onward.

114--
    --114!!

The door, and two Jyamato doing strange dances in front of it, provokes a formless roar from Leffa, and a palm-butt smacking of the left side of her Driver, where a second slender Armed buckle resides.

DAGGER - Strike!!

More like a Friday the 13th Killer than any hero does Jinako fall on the two dabbing plantmen outside of 114, that had come to ironically threaten the last wish of a simple man's dream.
Desire Stars Gin-Pen -- Takahito-san!

"Tears?" he asks tiredly, as Leffa's helmet presses into his chest. "For me? Your opponent?" Fondly, warmly asked, not chidingly nor suspiciously. "You're an uncommonly kind person. No matter what happens... I hope you hold onto that." His hand finds the spot between her shoulders. It's the last thing she feels to prove he exists, before he's gone.

Her use of his weapon obliterates the two Jyamato thinking to lurk in his son's room--simple weapons are still weapons, and the strength of them is in the wielding.

Ka-On, with the Thief Buckle, finds something uniquely suited to her lone wolf playstyle, sweeping up unsuspecting zombie Jyamato otherwise focued on Zumine and Ochiba. The latter two, meanwhile, whittle them down directly from the front, creating a pincer attack with the stealthy chameleon-themed Rider. Thus are the Jyamato near the forest wiped out, leaving only the stragglers near the hospital for Tycoon, Ishirou, and Leffa to sweep up.

At the plant, Da-Paan is tackled to the ground by Fuyubee, the two of them tumbling out of the power plant and landing hard on the cement as Era destroys the Jyamato who'd flooded in. It's almost as if he expected a reprisal from her. Expected, or perhaps hoped for. As she rains down blows on his helmet, he gives back in kind; knees her ribs, elbows her, thrashes and gets as many dirty shots in as he can.

The point-deduction buzzer sounds over and over again, but *only* when Da-Paan hits Fuyubee and never when she hits him.

In the commotion, he manages to get on top of her, and for a second it looks like he might turn the tables on her, until his body goes stiff and he clutches the sides of his head. A cry of pain escapes him as he rolls off of Fuyubee, and she can see, in his orange lenses, the spread of white veins that look very similar to the branch motifs present on the Jyamato.
Desire Stars Da-Paan, was it?

Da-Paan readies the Armed Launcher, hand trembling with silent, contemptuous rage as he lines up a shot...

A startled cry escapes him, when the weapon is struck from his hand by a descending Na-Go, leaping past Haru to send it flying away with a kick.

Da-Paan snarls and tries for an uppercut against Na-Go, who, having remembered Haru's training and put in time in the Temple's facilities, swerves around the blow, driving him off with a swat from the Armed Propeller.

He stumbles backwards. A wave of red light sweeps harmlessly through Na-Go and Fuyubee--but strikes Da-Paan like a ton of bricks. A series of sparking explosions flicker across his matte armor like fireworks, as an enraged howl escapes him. His form is occluded by smoke, hazily illuminated by crackles of blue electricity dancing across his figure.

Carried away by the wind, the smoke curtain parts to reveal Kanato Sumida, standing on spite alone, pale and sweating.

Standing before him is Tsumuri, the navigator, having made her entrance through the DGP's teleportation technology. "Thank you, Mr. Hamada. I'll take it from here." She holds out a tablet, for Kanato's benefit. Kanato attempts to insert his Armed Buckle again, and again--but the belt doesn't respond.

Geats removes his Magnum Buckle. Ace Ukiyo strides up and watches the proceedings through the holes in the damaged chain link fence, hands in the pockets of his DGP track pants.

BGM
Desire Stars      "Kanato Sumida," says Tsumuri, as it begins to dawn on Kanato, "I'm afraid you've been retired." The round is over. Kanato is in dead last, according to the score, by a considerable margin. In fact, he's the only Rider whose score is in the negatives.

Kanato scoffs, his fists clenched and white-knuckled.

"You only have yourself to blame," observes Ace. "If you'd worked with us instead of trying to drag Na-Go and Fuyubee down, you'd still be in the runnings."

Kanato grins, the expression inspiring little of the mirth he seems to feel. "Everything that's important to you in life, can be gone, in the blink of an eye. And the world won't stop turning, for you. But you... all of you, think you're different. Don't you?" He laughs. First a little. Then, full chested. "You actually think you can count on each other for anything at all?!"

    Ace's frown tightens.

"Idiots!" He says, laughing reedily. "Hahahaha! Only one of you is going to win!" Blue-white pixels gradually creep up his body, before enveloping him completely mid-laugh. His ID Core vanishes in that same blue pixel light, and his Desire Driver clatters to the cement below.

"He is no longer qualified to be a Kamen Rider," notes Tsumuri, picking it up. She turns, gives Haru a nod, and leaves quietly. Every other Rider receives a MISSION CLEAR notification on their Spider Phones. The rankings show Da-Paan's status as RETIRED... and Gin-Pen's as LOSE.
Angela Fuyubee fights like she's not really even seeing Da-Paan as Da-Paan. Sometimes as she strikes--and Da-Paan clobbers her in turn--she sees her own face looking back at her. By the end of it, it's not like she gets out of it fine either. She is on her back and she strains--the noise of point totals is something she's barely cognizent of. All the stress of the past few months is just erupting out of her and--

Da-Pan rolls off of her while she was helpless. Yuri scrambles away and curls around into the fetal position, clutching her stomach and wheezing as she struggles to breathe. She only managed to make herself look like a badass before because of the EGO, because she knew things because she wasn't supposed to know, because someone like the Purple Tear leant her a hand and because she could afford to fight at a distance.

THen she rolls onto her back, her eyes widening in fear as she sees Haru unleashing his weapon. She brings her arms to cover her face and--

I'm sorry, Cinder... I'm sorry, Petra... I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I was such an idiot

--it just flashes through her. Blinking in confusion, she pats her own body before sittting herself up, grateful that she's wearing a mask for once so nobody can see her face.

''You only have yourself to blame. If you'd worked with us...''

"...I know." Yuri says quietly.

''Only one of you is going to win!''

"You...okay?" She asks Neon, pushing up to her feet eventually, shaking. "Fuck..."
[ansi(243,''Da-Paan's status as RETIRED... and Gin-Pen's as LOSE.'')]

It takes a moment for it to hit Yuri. She is too sore and beat up and tired to really scream or anything--really, the odds of this game are horrifyingly familiar.

"...It's funny isn't it..." She murmurs to Neon. "...A traitor like him gets to keep on living but the one who was loyal and good died. What a sick joke."
Hamada Haru When it was still up to chance, Hamada Haru could have lived with it if he had killed Da-Paan. He would've thought about it at length, maybe agonized a little, but-- he could've lived with it. When he only belts out -- enough to be disqualified, he realizes -- he stands in place, looking Kanato in the eye. His eye descends to the defeated Kamen Rider's desire driver, and the moment that he tries to re-transform, the gunblade rises. But the driver doesn't respond, and Tsumuri steps in.

His eyes then shift to the tablet, but it isn't Kanato's presence that he takes note of. Somebody died-- his head turns, towards the hospital. The gunblade rested against his shoulder twitches slightly. Haru eases the weapon back onto his hip.

    "Although I am unreliable,
        and my mask is broken,
still I am a Kamen Rider."

That is all he has to say to Kanato Sumida.

He turns towards Yuri, and Neon. A part of him wants to reassure her that he isn't all that scary a presence, but... in the end, the words won't come. They feel completely empty, and they probably would have been.

He finds different words.

"A life can't pay for a life. It's sad that Gin-Pen died. It's not sad that Da-Paan didn't. It's frustrating, and it isn't fair, but it isn't sad. It is still possible for Da-Paan to climb out of his pit of suffering and live a worthy life, even though he probably won't, and if he doesn't the world would be better off without him in it," He half-replies, half-muses aloud.

Haru sighs, and turns his attention towards Kamen Rider Na-Go. "You two did well. You're going to need calories after that. What do you want?"
