Angela Life at Lobotomy Corp has eased up considerably. Most of the new Abnormalities are in the lowest level being handled by the Architecture Team and is largely handled by the Manager himself and as such, the department itself has settled into a work routine that is almost like normal work if normal work involved dealing with monsters. Only one Meltdown to go though considering the Seed of Light project is at 80 percent completion and each Sephirah provided about ten percent charge--well...

Angela has invited Rufus to her office today. She knows at this point it's only a matter of time (heh!) for Hokma to have his meltdown which means the Project is almoost complete, for better or worse.

Angela's office is fairly empty as usual aside from the numerous monitors, book-filled shelves(+1 pirate hat, +1 teddy bear). As usual, Angela's desk has a chair but it's the only one in the room.

"Rufus," She says when he enters. "Thank you for coming, I wished to talk to you about the coming months though as usual, I'd ask you keep it between us."
Rufus Shinra PREVIOUSLY ON GLOBAL RADIO CHANNEL B-ANTER

> Prince Rufus Shinra says, "You've got a smokin' robot bod, though. I think that counts. It'd get you into at least a couple silver age comics.
Angela says, "I appreciate the sentiment but please do not refer to my 'robot bod' as hot."
Prince Rufus Shinra says, "Sorry, Miss Angela. I didn't know what kind of hvac you've got."

"Yeah - though first, wanted to apologize for something I said. You remember when I made that comment on global radio about your hot robot bod?"

Oh, he's actually going to apologize for-

"I shouldn't have made the HVAC comment afterward. It made it seem un-genuine, and all. You absolutely have a smokin' hot robot bod, and don't let anyone else, including yourself, tell you otherwise." Nevermind.

He twists his hand, and via some feat of close-up street magic, there's suddenly a wrapped bouquet of plastic flowers in it, held out towards Angela.

"Take this with my apology - and an invitation to dinner. Come as you are."
Angela Angela was not really thinking about the air conditioner gag. She stares at Rufus for a moment as he apologizes for it but not the element she had actually commented upon, which is the comment about her 'robot bod'. She doesn't need to breathe but she still emulates the gesture, taking one breath in, one long breaht out. She considers forgoing everything she was going to tell Rufus today and letting him find it out as a surprise. He even invites her to dinner.

"...Rufus. Are you suggesting I send go with you to the facility cafe and watch you eat, or are you suggesting that you take one of the video pads with you so we go off site and I watch you eat there?"

She collects the plastic flowers though, studying them. She flicks the plastic petals with a finger before setting the bouquet on the desk.

"Rufus, Lobotomy Corp's work will likely end early next year. ... Or we'll have to start over, but I am confident that the Dame Commander and everyone else will be able to handle the situation." Angela says. "Once the process ends, there are a few ways it can go but it is likely that the Warpgate will be nonfunctional for a iime. I can give you some forewarning before the final day so you can leave the facility without having to deal with the extra complications."She slides a check towards Rufus. "Here is your paycheck for the next few months as it will be unliekly we will remain able to do payroll after the process is complete. Do you have any questions?"
Rufus Shinra > "...Rufus. Are you suggesting I send go with you to the facility cafe and watch you eat, or are you suggesting that you take one of the video pads with you so we go off site and I watch you eat there?"

"I mean you can still eat... gears and bolts, right? Like the robots on TV? Or high grade electricity? I'm sure we can figure something out." Finger-guns!

Okay, topic change, though.

"I'm... not sure I understand," says Rufus, glancing down at the check. "You're kicking me out?"
Angela Angela is dumbfounded by Rufus. She is at a loss. "Eat...gears and bolts? Electricity? I'm not even powered by--" She pinches the bridge of her nose. Rufus is just making fun of her. He is always doing goofs and gaffes. Or maybe this is a common misconception about robots? The other robots she knew have vanished away from her sight so she doesn't even know who to find to ask about this.

"Rufus, if you want to be trapped in the facility for an indefinite amount of time, feel free. I am simply giving you a little warning of what the end of the Project entails so you are not caught off guard because you've been ... helpful. So consider the warning a gesture of appreciation. You can do what you want with it."

She is quiet for a moment before adding, "But in case I am still being unclear. The end process of the SEed of Light is that the facility emerges from underground. Many of its systems will fall offline during this process as a result of the facility's movements, including the Warpgate. We will cease being able to pay you for your labor because we will be seen as enemies of the State and also we will cease providing power to the City. Once above ground you may have to leave the facility on foot or wait until the Warpgate is up depending on how the final day goes. ...This was always the goal for the end state of L Corp. If it comes as a shock, I apologize for the lack of clarity on this issue. I intend to keep my promise to help you kill your father if you ever ask for it."
Rufus Shinra Is this a goof? A gaffe? Or some sort of hybrid gooffe? Or is it a genuine attempt to ask her out? Rufus is hard to read. Those stupid fingerguns do not help.

He does put them back away when the topic changes, though.

"So, let me get this clear. At a certain point, the warpgate is going to go offline," he starts counting on his fingers. Hopefully the safety's on. "Then there's other systems that are going to start going offline - in the facility full of dangerous abnormalities that'll kill you or worse, usually 'worse'. Then it'll emerge from the underground - and we'll be enemies of the state, plus not providing power is going to piss people off, and on top of that the whole process will take days so there won't be a chance to resupply or bail. And even after all of that..."

He thumbs over his shoulder. "We'll be legging it out on foot. Probably pursued by all sorts of heavy hitters in the City, Lilian's Trideag, and if containment's failing with everything else we'll have the abnormalities to deal with."

"Does that about sum it up?"
Angela Angela shifts her body so Rufus's fingers neither point to her directly or accidentally.

When Rufus points out the Abnormaliites escaping (she's fine with this) but also the element that even the City populace will probably hate them all, that Trideag might even be after them. She doubts Lilian would make it a high priority to hunt Angela down or anything but... she can't really be sure. LIlian never slunk away from her responsibilities... If she can ESCAPE though, then she'll have no more reason to pursue either fro Trideag or otherwise. She could go live in her ghost house or Rita's beach or whatever. It's so hard to plan at this stage but...

"Or we'll simply be trapped inside until we can get the Warpgate on." Angela says. "But you more or less have it. Besides, the people of the facility will likely despise me when I make my own move so we will not be able to count on the assistance of the Sephirah or most of the Agents, most likely."
Rufus Shinra "Mmmhmm, mmmhmmmmmm." Rufus nods along, and silently counts on his fingers once again to make sure he hasn't missed anything.

"Right."

"Miss Angela, if there's one thing you can be clear on with me..."

He leans over towards the desk, and puts a finger on the check.

"I have money."

"I have *lots* of money. I have *too much* money. You know how people will buy themselves something nice to make them feel better? I can't, because *I've already bought myself everything I could want*. At least as far as what I can casually buy."

"I outgrew all the regular idle rich pursuits long ago, the exclusive nightclubs and the fancy yachts and betting on the rat races. I've whaled on every major gacha you could name, hired a ghost gamer to get past the grindy parts that I couldn't whale through, and then paid to have my own mobile game developed to my exact specifications, and I ended up getting bored of *that too*. I've been running out of things to do."

"Heck, I've even solved my own problems too much. Some loser was posting how much fuel my helicopter rides were using, so I just bought out the social media app he was on to shut him up. Easy as that. Where's the challenge?"

"So I've got... nothing I want. Nothing that money can buy, anyway."

He slides the check across the desk, partway.

"What I want, what I crave, what I *need* to stay sane and, frankly, stay alive, is experiences. Unique things I can't get or do anywhere else. Thrills. Danger. *Spectacles*."

"And this, everything you just said, sounds *perfect*."

"And if I die, am arrested, or worse, then - who cares, it's better than dying a slow death, snorting powdered unicorn horn off of some call girl's dick while the world moves on around me."

The check is slid fully across the desk to Angela.

"I'm all-in."
Angela ''Rufus brags about being the one percent.''

"I am aware you have too much money," Angela says. "Though I admit, I had not realized your immense wealth has caused you so much suffering. Nevertheless, paying someone for their work is how things are done--"

But he's already sliding the checks across the desk. And he says what he actually wants. To be in danger, to feel thrill, to experience things.

"...I see." Angela leans back in her chair, looking upwards. She is thinking. She runs it through her head. "...SYou said something similar when you signed on. I had assumed you were making something up so you could conduct industrial subterfuge at first. But you must be correct."

She leans back forward, taking the check back.

"Understood. Then stick around. It will be dangerous and I can make no promises how it will end, but you will have ''Experiences'' for certain. Probably unpleasant ones, but if that is your desire--then I can consider that payment. Just in case, of course, I will hold onto this check if you change your mind."
Rufus Shinra "Trust me, Miss Angela, I'll make sure I'll get paid."

Fingerguns! There's no getting out of the way this time.

"Oh, wait, the experiences, *and* the movie rights to all this. I want those too. This'll make a killing once all the dust settles, and I'm not *so* rich that I couldn't use a couple extra millions."
Angela Angela watches the Fingerguns come out super slowmo. But there is nowhere to escape without literally throwing herself off the chair. She patiently waits for the inevitable.

''And the move rights!''

"...Nobody would want to watch a film about this." Angela cannot imagine anybody being interested in the Project Moon setting and lore and especially not the LobCorp setting and lore. It is inconceivable to her. "Movies are expensive, you'll end up booke by the end of it."
