Sarracenia      Finally! A day Sarra has been waiting for for a while! She gets to...have a friendly, just for fun and honor fight with a friend!

Though the practice in general has fallen out of fashion, Sarra still loves to have a no limits brawl with someone who does not want to kill her just for the fun of it. The princess arrived early enough to have a special arena programmed, and when Aidan arrives he will find himself in the thick jungle of the Sundew Kingdom. The trees are as big around as many houses and as tall as many skyscrapers, with canopies that leave the area beneath sun-dappled. The trees form a perimeter around an small clearing, about 100 feet wide. Just enough that one can run around in it without restraint while still being within striking distance of someone using the trees.

The princess herself is in her battle dress! The black, smooth leather dress with a red armored plate over her chest and four triangular pieces forming a sort of second skirt over the longer skirt of the dress. And just for fun she has on her Bullet Bill boots beneath. The shark-faced shoes peek out whenever she takes a step.

She stands in the center of the clearing with her hammer held beside her, head up and haft resting on the ground. And she is really trying not to smile too big or bounce on her feet with excitement.
Aidan Proudpick Aidan can't go TOO all out, since he doesn't have much money. But he can at least do his best for Sarracenia.

He strides out into the battleground, wearing his normal 'beastman' armor. Half breastplate, bare midriff, green pants and undershirt, armguards. To play up the moment, he added some turquoise eyeshadow, just a little, in addition to his normal eye touchups. Behind him, his semi-joke of a lord's cape flutters, a forest green cape with a shield on it. A shield with a heart, a squirrel, an oak tree and a branch. Aidan can't afford them to play ACTUAL music, so instead there's an unbranded sort of theme music that comes on a list. https://youtu.be/zvTyBacUxe0 The sort of thing you pay five credits for and they play for you. But Aidan strides out onto the field like he owns it, grinning. All of it for a set of seats of approximately no one. Well, all of it is for Sarracenia. It's been hard at the Supervillain Training lately, and if playing the fool can put a little more of a smile on Sarra's face, then Aidan will do it.

So, he lifts his hands, as if there were a sold out crowd, before bringing his hands up to his mouth. Wind bubbles out from his mouth as he makes a mighty megaphone of his hands. "Is there a mighty hero?!" He walks out into the thick jungle, trying not to IMMEDIATELY turn and climb one of them. Trees, trees trees. He practically struts out into the clearing, arms lifted out in a mighty T-Pose. "Our fight will be legendary!"

"Oh hey, your battle dress looks great!"
Sarracenia      'Oh hey, your battle dress looks great!'

Sarra's smile grows. "Why, thank you~ I designed it myself, you know~" she says, doing a little twirl...and forgetting she had her hammer standing up for a moment. It starts to fall and she eeps before grabbing it again. She giggles before looking Aidan over and listening to his theme music. "My my~ Going all out, I see?" She smiles. "Thank you."

Her twirl allows her to show off her own cape. A brilliant red full cape with golden trim and her personal crest on the back: a silver, winged hammer with a golden shield beneath it that has a curling green Sundew plant on it. "And I like your eyeshadow! I should really start using more of it myself."

She brings her hammer into a proper grip, then hees. "Alright. Are you ready? I do not hold back, even with friends~!" she says happily. And before really waiting for an answer...she pulls out a Bullet Bill and with a quick twirl and a shot from her hammer sends it rocketing toward Aidan.
Aidan Proudpick A beaming smile, tapping one of the sides of his eyes, "Maybe a light red, just a really small amount? It would go great!" Aidan doesn't USUALLY wear it, but he's going for extra flamboyant today. His arms move in shifting patterns, embellishing everything as he gathers wind into them. Secretly, the squirrel is planning to draw the fight out, trying to give Sarracenia as much of a fight as he can without dragging her down. Trying to weave this just right.

He finally turns back around, wind in hand, a leg forward, "Re-"

KABOOM. The entire tree line around Aidan's combusts. Thick jungle trees explode, black smoke and red flames engulfing the area where Aidan hadn't even finished posing. Wooden sharpnel flies past Sarracenia.

"Ow, fuck, ow," Aidan mutters from within the cloud, "fuck, ow." He pulls a bit of wood out from his midriff, tossing it away. The screen of the explosion gives him a moment to catch his breath, already battered by massive pieces of wood. "Fuck," he coughs out. "Can't hope she'll just miss."

Wood chips rain down as the explosion clears, and Aidan makes a show of slamming both balls of wind together, drawing them up to his mouth.

"WIND LIMIT!"

Air ripples up from his fingers, from his legs, forming around him. White swirls then solidifies into planes around his body, tightening until it's nearly a skin tight suit, even around his BIG BUSHY TAIL. Two pauldrons stick out to either side, a narrow almost villainous swoop to them. Nothing Sarra would recognize. It helps keep him from staggering from that blow.

ELSEWHERE, A FEW DAYS AGO.

In a boring and slightly under used classroom, Aidan stands with several other humans of various ages, all of whom are giving him advice.

"Talk louder."
"Speak from your diaphragm, like this."
"Shoulders high, head cocked up a little."
"What's the script you got again?"

"Tell me, Princess! What gives you strength! What makes your blood BURN!" Aidan springs up towards a tree, able to move just as fast as Sarra now, digging his hands into it before leaping back off towards the princess. The tree CRACKS underneath the force of the leap.

"PILEBUNKER!"

Air gathers up around Aidan's back, shifting around his body. His fists are paltry, but whatever the blow lands on is met with a hurricane force second blow of wind!
Sarracenia      The Bullet Bill explodes and Sarra lets out a giddy, child-like laugh. At least until she starts hearing the ows from Aidan. She looks a bit worried for a moment until he shouts out.

Tell me, Princess! What gives you strength! What makes your blood BURN!'

"...in a good way or a bad way? Because I am pretty sure you know what makes it burn in a bad way!" Sarra responds.

     'PILEBUNKER!'

Sarra blinks in surprise as Aidan comes flying toward her. She stays in place and twirls again, bringing her hammer around to meet the attacks. She twirls in a graceful dance across the clearing, taking a few hits but meeting most of them with hammer blows. "But, you might also know what makes my blood burn in the good way, I suppose! Heroism, kindness, and innocent people in need of defending! And destroying villains!"

She comes to a stop after that. "And of course...friends! And a great fight with someone who is alright with me!" the princess says with a happy smile. "Who would fight for and with me!"

She leaps upward and somersaults in the air, then brings her hammer down with all that force. "What about you?" she asks as she craters the ground with her hammer.
Aidan Proudpick Each blow has weak form, the sort of skill a back alley brawler gets. Despite that, each blow rings out with a second explosive punch. And Aidan is surprised as Sarracenia is so easily able to get out of the way. This is NOT going as well as he had hoped. He wanted to give back as good as he got.

"And a great fight with someone who is alright with me!"

That gets an honest warm chuckle out of Aidan and he stops hamming it up, "I'm so glad SOMEONE gets it. The feeling of blood pumping. The thrill of testing yourself!"

An explosive of force moves down Aidan's body. Wind hammers into the ground around Aidan's feet, pushing him faster than he can normally move. His own Kamen Rider suit. Not as flashy, not as strong. But all his own. Each skip is too short, hard to avoid the hammer falls. And there's that question.

"What about you?"

Aidan can't ham it up anymore. This point is too strong for him. Not heavy with gravitas, just... "Protect the innocent. Never let homes get swallowed up again. And..."

Box her up, slow her down. Keep the fight going. Aidan flashes up wall after wall of wind, putting the swirling white planes in front of her, making each movement like slogging through mud. "Take responsibilty. I'm not going to be the one who makes the mess anymore, I'm going to be the one who cleans them up." Aidan's voice grows stronger, perhaps the most conviction he's ever had. "It's not enough just to be a hero. We gotta be builders!"
Sarracenia      'I'm so glad SOMEONE gets it.'

Sarra's smile brightens again. "Exactly! People think fighting has to be about anger and trying to kill people, but it is just flat out fun if you do it right!"

'Box her up, slow her down...'

Sarra would definitely appreciate what Aidan is doing if she realized it, but when she gets in a fun fight she goes all out! And fighting one of her best friends is one of the best fights! So, she practically dives into the wind wall. Her movements do indeed slow, but she trudges forward as her still short hair and her dress billow up and out. It is a good thing she put on some very tall boots and some leggings for this!

'It's not enough just to be a hero. We gotta be builders!'

"Precisely! We need to build up people and the worlds! With hope, with homes, with supplies if they need them!" Sarra exclaims while reaching into her purse. She pulls out...an odd cap made of metal. "And, we have to show people..." She puts the cap on over her crown, and the mirror-like shine of the metal cap flows down over the princess, turning a rose gold color in the process until there is a living Sarra statue moving toward Aidan, much less fettered by the wind. "...that we will not be stopped!"

With her strength, weight, and solidness all enhanced, Sarra unleashes a flurry of hammer blows and metal kicks on Aidan with the final hit a two-story jump that carries her back down in barely a second with her hammer head beneath her. An explosion of sheer impact is released when she hits, and another crater is left behind.
Aidan Proudpick Precisely!

"The City. The Gale Empire. We gotta be the ones to lift up. Not just be there when monsters need attacking!" Granted, the second part of that is 'so Lilian will fuck the hell off and go have a happy time with Tamano' in Aidan's mind, but saying that outloud would sour the mood. But in the process, he's hyping himself up. It's part of a grand scheme in the squirrel's bubbling brain.

That's a new trick. Instead of coating herself in wind, Sarracenia suddenly becomes METAL. Aidan can see his reflect in Sarracenia's rosegold coated face, then watch her leap up into the sky. When did she get so good at landing BLOWS. In Aidan's mind, this was gonna be easy. Just avoid her wild swings and let her tire herself out.

Each blow is like hitting water. The fist drives against Aidan's 'helmet'. A ripple of white goes out from the spot where it landed, Aidan's eyes wide underneath the wind as Sarracenia can swing that well. He staggers back again, another fist striking into the wind, a reverberating white ripple sending out from the impact in his chest. Another stagger back, another, the wind weakening as Aidan struggles against the powerful barrage. The force of the kick lifts Aidan off his feet and sends him back, rolling away into a tree.

Life saving magic is interesting. Can it save you from having your entire body turned into pate by a giant hammer? Aidan doesn't want to find out. He grabs a tree behind him with his hands and bends his entire body upward, digging into the tree with his feet to put it between him and the hammer blow. Again, that mighty explosion of wood chips as Aidan scrambles up the tree.

"No matter how long it takes! No more running on hate or spite, just love for the people around us!"

Enough burly brawl. Aidan starts leaping from tree to tree, going back to his old ways. Teeth set on the outside of his lips, Aidan makes little 'fft' noises, pushing white shots of wind over his lips. At first, it's just a single dart of wind that impacts against the metal. Then more, and more, trying to keep her back while putting space between them!
Sarracenia      'The City. The Gale Empire. We gotta be the ones to lift up. Not just be there when monsters need attacking!'

"That is why we are able to put up with Lilian enough to join the Trideag Association, right?" she says. And though Aidan didn't say it, Sarra would completely agree if he had brought up the other things.

As Aidan weathers all of her blows, it is Sarra's turn to be impressed. "Wow, Aidan! Have you gotten better at your wind magic?" she asks, smiling cheerfully.

'No matter how long it takes! No more running on hate or spite, just love for the people around us!'

"That is the only real reason one should fight, anyway! For love and happiness! Love of your friends and loved ones! Happiness for those people that have too little!"

Those air darts clank off of Metal Sarra, slowing her down some but not too much. "What do you think of the Sundew Kingdom trees? They are quite impressive, are they not?" she says as she reaches the base of the one Aidan is climbing. The metal cap wears off, and the metal skin slowly fades back to Sarra's normal colors just in time for her to get clipped by the last few darts. She winces at the pain, then giggles.

She walks around the tree to where she is between it and another. "And great for wall kicks!" the princess exclaims before leaping upward! She kicks off of one then the other then the first again in quick succession until she is caught up with Aidan. She kicks off the farther tree once more, then comes twirling through the air with that relentless hammer again. "Woohoo~"
Aidan Proudpick A grin enters Aidan's voice behind the helmet. "We don't let other people write the story! If we fail, we learn and do better! For every home." Then, mostly to himself, "And for guys who tries to kill themselves with work."

Good. Sarra's on board. Now he just needs to learn to be the person he wants. But THAT burns deeply inside of him.

As the metal fades from Sarra, so too Aidan lets the wind fade from his body, revealing his form. He's sluggish, but there's an eagerness, a grin on his face to match Sarracenia's. "I gotta come visit more often! Do you know how great it is to just spend a night in a tree, you should try it!"

oh jeez, here she comes.

"Careful, Sarra, I have the high ground!"

Much like an angry young Jedi, Sarracenia does a twirling leap up to Aidan, bringing that hammer towards him. Even as exhausted as she might be, a good clip on the shoulder is going to be all it takes. Aidan's shield comes in at just the right angle. The force of the blow rings against the metal embossing along the sides of the shield, Aidan struggling to push it juuuust to the side. A squat thrust off the tree sends him spinning into the air as the hammer rips through the top of the tree.

Attack name, come up with an attack name. "WIND ARROW BARRAGE!" Aidan breathes out a long skein of white wind, forming the cloud into a volley of arrows. The play would be to keep Sarracenia so weakened she can barely through a blow at him, but.

That's just not FUN. Instead, Aidan tries to box her in so he can build up for one MIGHTY BLOW of his own. If he beat Sarracenia by keeping her too weak to swing to her heart's content, what kind of friend would he be?
Sarracenia      'We don't let other people write the story! If we fail, we learn and do better! For every home.'

"And when we fight, we fight with a purpose! With a goal! We do not cause violence or destruction simply for its own sake!" Sarra adds.

'I gotta come visit more often! Do you know how great it is to just spend a night in a tree, you should try it!'

"...ehehehe...ah, I suppose I should say that I generally avoid nature in my home. It does not like me and I do not like it. But, if it were a proper tree home, then..." Sarra considers the idea.

'Careful, Sarra, I have the high ground!'

"Being on the high ground is actually a disadvantage when defending against a melee attack" Sarra calls out...then bounces off that shield and backflips to kick off the tree behind her again. "..or not..?" she says, a bit confused. Those wind arrows come in, and Sarra swings her hammer again to smash them away. "Oooh! Are we doing attack names now?" Sarra seems excited by this. "Okay, let me show you one of my favorites!"

Sarra lands safely back on the ground, then goes into a twirl. As she does, she tosses three Bullet Bills up in the air one after another. As they come down each one is hammered on the back side and launched like an artillery shot.

After three thunderous rapports Sarra shouts out, "Bullet Bill Blitz!" Which is followed soon after by three explosions. Which are -then- followed by happy laughter from Sarra.
Aidan Proudpick 'Are we doing attack names now?'

Aidan grins, "Why not? Who cares what other people think, right? It gives you focus! ANd it sounds awesome!"

Bullet Bill Blitz!

The fact they are in the Shrine is enough for Aidan. He doesn't have to run fully scared, or retreat. He can press the attack. And have FUN. He goes down on all fours, hunched up like a squirrel in the wild. His tail twitches madly up in the air as he scrambles forward. Time to try and show off!

A leap, he lands on one of the bullet bills. Claws dig into the end of it, and light feet propel him up towards the top of it. He leaps off of it, pushing a foot down to jump up to the next one. A misstep at any moment would ruin him, but Aidan's having fun, a wide grin splitting his face as he kicks off to leap onto the last one.

Uh, uh, uh, "SHIELD BLOW!" That works. Aidan leaps over the last of them, spinning like a graceful dancer, arm over head in a well placed over head chop at Sarracenia's hammer holding hand.
Sarracenia      ...well, unfortunately, despite all her bluster Sarra does care what people think of her. But, attack names are cool when done right, and do help you focus!

That thought is sort of pushed out as Sarra's eyes widen at Aidan's acrobatic airsteps on her Bullet Bills, and her eyes sparkle a little when he is silhouetted by the explosions a moment later.

Of course, that means she is hit squarely by the shield blow. She yelps and drops her hammer, and it lands on the ground with a bass-filled 'THUD'.

She holds her wrist for a few moments, wincing. "...ow..." she says. For some reason that one isn't filled with fun. In fact, Sarra actually looks angry for a moment or two. "Admirable blow, but...would you mind...never doing that again? At least, to me?" she says finally, managing to bring her smile back to some degree. "You probably did not realize it, but...Ceri...she tried to chop off my hands." Sarra flexes that hand a few times, then takes a few deep breaths.

Then, she gives a double fist pump to try and return proper energy to a fun friendly duel. "But, do not worry about that! We are here to have fun! And fun shall be had!"

Sarra reaches into her purse and pulls out...a black box with a red ! on it. She places the box down, then hits the exclamation mark. The box starts to unfold...and unfold...and unfolds some more, until it is a box-shaped cannon that could fit a truck inside!

With a heavy hydraulic sound a shark-faced bullet slides into view. "I am not sure you can call yourself a proper friend of mine until you have experienced the Banzai Bill~" Sarra says excitedly from her stop atop the cannon. She gives it a stomp, and with a heavy bass-overloaded shot the Banzai Bill launches.

Of course, the time it takes to deploy it and the slowish speed at which it moves makes it a bit of a silly weapon. At least, until it explodes in even the general proximity of Aidan. A series of ever growing explosions is unleashed, sounding like explosive machine gun fire until a slight delay and a final even stronger explosion that leaves a mushroom cloud in its wake.

And Sarra's laughter can be heard as the explosions fade. She just cannot contain herself when she fires one of these!
Aidan Proudpick Aidan's eyes widen, "Oh! Sorry, Sarra, I didn't know that!"

Fun! Right. Fun. He sees the black box, some of the artistry and fire having been stopped by the sudden worry that he hurt Sarra's feelings with the blow on the wrist. Only to then watch the cannon slowly unfurl from it. It builds upward, Sarracenia riding it like some kind of demented mount. Aidan's eyes widen further as he looks into the empty hole of the cannon that is suddenly filled with a truck sized Bullet Bill. A Banzai bill?

"Oh, hi." Aidan waves, hoping that experiencing the Banzai Bill is something normal and casual. Maybe they'll go get lunch.

As soon as it launches, Aidan spins on one heel and starts running. Arms pump up and down as he runs at full tilt, eyes wide with panic. It's fine, that things huge, all he has to do is run through the trees! There's no way it can get through all of them.

THe squirrel spins around, backpedaling as he watches the Banzai Bill hit the trees with a little smug grin. Then it explodes.

That part of the temporary jungle evaporates as it is hit by explosion. Wood chips fly all around Sarracenia, punctuating her maniacal laughter as more and more of the jungle is consumed. The mushroom cloud finish plows over the rest of the jungle, leaving a tremendous crater. And in the middle, Aidan, curled slightly, on his side.

Weakly, he lifts his head, letting out a puff of pained breath. "Ow. Okay. I experienced it."
Sarracenia      Is it Aidan's imagination, or did the Banzai Bill's grin grow when he said hi?

Sarra watches Aidan run and giggles a bit. "You can run, but you cannot hide~" Sarra calls out in a playful sing-song voice that completely contrasts the weapon of mass destruction she just fired.

As the smoke clears, Sarra walks up to Aidan with a green mushroom. Even though the arena resets, erasing pretty much all the damage and leaving only the tiredness. "And you survived it quite well, I think!" the princess says as she hands over the mushroom.

With the arena reset, they are left in the basic room. Sarra reaches to help Aidan up, still beaming. "Thank you! This was so much fun! What should we do now?"
Aidan Proudpick Aidan staggers up to his feet, groaning as he grabs the mushroom. It'll alleviate the tired feeling, at least, giving him a chance to be pulled up and stretch out with a groan.

But the sound of that singsong in her voice just makes Aidan grin, chomping into the mushroom. He chews it methodically, swallows, before continuing. "Ice cream to finish off the day? I know a place nearby that does both kinds." Vegan and normal, obviously.

"You are gonna be a mighty queen one day, Sarra. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise." He bounces on the balls of his feet, "And your hits got SO much more accurate," he chatters on the way to ice cream, "And the way you can turn into metal and I almost got completely blasted, that was so GREAT!" Any other worries about training or Lilian or responsibility are lost to the whims of ice cream and the fresh feeling of having the snot beaten out of you.
