Angela Tiphereth wants burger!

To be fair she's never had a burger in her entire life. She doesn't even want a fancy burger or anything. And Hibiki has offered burger! And so...

...Well there's an issue. The promise of burgers seem to have woken up Netzach as well who is now lingering in the Natural Sciences level of the Library, draped over one of the chairs, head tilted back. Rather than keeping it long like before he has pulled his hair back in a bun and is wearing a forest green jacket over his librarian uniform. He did NOT finish tying his ribbon, wearing it more like a shawl around his neck, and he hasn't tucked in his shirt.

Tiphereth looks older than before--decidedly closer to adulthood than her child self. She is sitting in a chair herself and staring at Netzach's open mouth even as he's snoozing like she wants to throw something in there.

But before getting to see this scene, Hibiki has to actually get into the Library which she can do my taking the Warpgate and heading towards the fog which parts for her, momentarily, to let her in through the front door.

Angela is there to greet her. she extends her hand to her, "Hello." She says. "Hibiki, I shall take you up to Tiphereth's floor."

The Library is more put together than it was immediately after the war and soft jazz music is playing through the intercom rather than orders or screams. Angela uses a card to swipe open the doors to the elevator and will gesture for Hibiki to follow her. It is the previous scene that Hibiki and Angela see when they step outside of the elevator.

"...He was sleeping for months and he decided he could use another nap I see." Angela says, dryly.
Hibiki Tachibana     There are probably some people in the City, very powerful people, who might frown if they see the mysterious fog parting around the remains of L Corp's Nest... for a girl holding onto a paper bag of food. Truly, the deepest enigmas of this world bend to Tachibana Hibiki and the power of burgers.

Not that she's thinking about any of that herself. For her, it's mostly just some latent awkwardness of visiting the Library for the first time since the immediate aftermath of the big war. It's weird, right? Coming back here, in the totally different form it is now, sort of re-meeting everybody she knew before. Or maybe it's only weird because she knows they all have mixed feelings about it, and rightfully so.

Still, upon encountering Angela, she takes the extended hand with her own for a shake. "...Hey, Angela. Thanks. I, uh..." As they proceed ahead, her head tilts upwards, taking in the ambient music and the soft golden glow encompassing it all. "...Like what you've done with the place," and sounds like she means it rather than just paying lip service.

It all definitely beats the pretty bleak hallways and cells of Lobotomy Corporation, that's for sure. Once they exit their stop at Natural Sciences, Hibiki stops and just stares at the sight. Like she's surprised, but also with a slight squint as if she shouldn't have expected any better, before eventually running her free hand back through her hair.

"Some things never change, huh..." She murmurs equally as dryly.

Despite that, it's enough of an icebreaker for her to get over being somewhat ill at ease, stepping further inside to find a seat and turn her attention to... "Hey, Tiphereth. ...Wow, it's gonna take some getting used to the new look. I like it, though. And as promised..." She hoists up the bag she's holding.

It's not some logo-branded fast food bag, either. Just an ordinary one she probably used because it was convenient, out of which she pulls out and unwraps-- a burger. A cheeseburger. Extra cheese. Onions. Ketchup. Cooked thoroughly and still hot. And also actually a pretty big one, because she's a big eater which translates into anything she makes also being big.

"...Doesn't exactly make us even for everything before," she says with a quiet and somewhat self-conscious chuckle. "But I gotta do what I say I will. I even made it all on my own." Not that burgers are especially hard to put together, but...
Audrey Basque     Morale was such a hard thing to come by lately. So after a rocky weekend, Audrey finally being back at the Library with a wide smile is probably a good sign. No, we're definitely not going to talk about how last minute her homework was done today, because it WAS done, handed in, and she was certain, quite perfectly too.

We definitely won't talk about saturday either.

As she heads down, from General Works through the staircase, she passes in front of Natural Sciences, and decides to stop by; only to be greeted by a new Sephirah she'd not had time to meet, and Tiphereth.

    ... is he asleep?

She edges closer to Tiphereth, holding onto three or four books she meant to take down to another floor, avoiding making a sound, then whispering: "Hello. Is he asleep?"

Hey if you're not sure... just ask.

And then next thing you know... Angela! And a guest?
She didn't wake up TWO new Sephirah at once did she?

"Oh, hello!" She says to Angela, still half-whispering to not wake Netzach up. "Is that... another Sephirah?" she asks, puzzled look towards Hibiki, further intrigued by the bag and burger.
Petra Soroka     Also, the Library is where Petra Soroka, known Friend of Tachibana, works!

Since a couple weeks ago, the Library became a complicated place to be because of Audrey. Since a couple days ago, it's become a more complicated place to be because of Audrey. It's tentatively more pleasant to exist nearby her, but it comes with a looming sense of dread and unease that Petra hasn't been able to adequately address in the span of just twenty four hours, while busy with Heyalexa trying to set up a restaurant and plotting the complete destruction of the City's societal order. Audrey might have been willing to pull a particular ripcord that night, but Petra is a lot more hesitant, because of the dizzying desire for what's on the other side.

So Petra is here, but she's also weirdly nervous at nothing. She fiddles with the the loose-hanging tie around her neck, feeling out its past and the hands that touched it as if she had psychometry instead of anxiety. She actually knew about Hibiki Tachibana's visit today, and Petra still hasn't gotten over her critical loneliness damage, so she wanders into Natural Sciences with the *intention* of hanging out.

She enters the room from the opposite side of Audrey, fingers on the knot of her tie, and briefly makes eye contact before dropping her hand again. Then, Hibiki Tachibana, who is a comparatively simple person for Petra to interact with, which is a sentence never uttered in the entire time that they've known each other.

"Dang, Hibiki. You actually *cooked* that? I didn't think it was possible." She tries to sound more encouraging than insulting there, but it's still a *little* backhanded.

And then with a little bit of contempt, "Oh. Good morning, Netzach." Without lingering on him for long, Petra immediately talks past him to Angela. "Hey Ange! Do you think Yesod's next, then? You're getting pretty good at this."
Angela ''I, uh, Like what you've done with the place.''

Angela is feeling pretty smug about the Library actually so she's inclined to believe Hibiki. She is really hella proud of it and the fact that it's essentially, mostly, a representation of Angela's psyche given form--well even if did used to be the Facility--suggests she's thinking pretty highly of herself lately. And she is feeling more and more confident in this, now. She's proven one path to leaving and now has an imperfect short term solution. The only issue is that she hurt a lot of her friends in the process who all insist it wasn't her fault or anything but things are still not ''fine'' so it still bothers her. It's not enough, but progress means something to Angela and so far she's been able to contain the sudden fits of anger and impatience that hit her.

"The work will not be complete until it can feel akin to a ''home'' or at least a safe haven. But progress has been consistent, if slow, and feeling in motion is important right now."#-1 ARGUMENT OUT OF RANGE
''Some things never change.''

"Mm..." Angela frowns. "Well there's no reason to wake him up I'm sure the burger....s? Will? ... How many burgers did you bring, Hibiki?"

Tiphereth hops up--she's too interested in burger to remember she should also be a bit bratty at Hibiki for foiling the grand scheme and all, but Tiphereth lost family to the project--she had her reasons for wanting to complete it but there's a reason she voted for Angela in the end.

She takes the burger and says, "Wow...you made this? It looks great, Hibiki. Jeeze...gonna be tough to eat all of this-- .... And it looks greasy actually I probably should bring it over to the table..."

She brings the burger to one of the reading tables and--

--Angela pushes forward to move the books out of the way before Tiphereth can.

"Just to be on the safe side." Angela says before walking over to one of the shelves and setting the books down on one of them.

''I even made it all on my own.''

"Congratulations, Hibiki." Angela says.

"Yeah I gotta say--this convinces me you actually can do the work." Tiphereth admits.

''Hello. Is he asleep?''

"If he wasn't in front of me I'd still assume and say yes." Tiphereth mumbles at Audrey.

''Is that... another Sephirah?''

Angela studies Audrey for a moment. "You are in a good mood." This pleases her though her expression is neutral. "...But no. Hibiki is someone who assisted me in my evil scheme to take over the facilit."

She does not kill Petra but she does does give Petra a look at 'I didn't think it was possible' then back to Tiphereth who kind of gave the same kind of compliment herself.

"Yesod'll be next. Then maybe I will bite the bullet and wake Gebura. I am a little hesitant to wake her up at all since she tried to kill me twice, but the sooner I can field a proper defense against The City the less stressful all the people from The City joining the band and everything will be for me."

''Oh. Good morning, Netzach.''

Netzach sniffs and rolls up into a forward slouch. "Oh heey... this place got busy... Is that a burger? Do you have more burgers?"

He looks over to Petra. "Hey Petra. Long time no see." He then looks to Audrey. "Who'se the new girl?"
Audrey Basque     Audrey blinks twice at Tiphereth, gaze lingering on Netzach until Petra walks in. It's-- not that Audrey becomes uncomfortable, exactly, but it's also plain as day that something is up. What it is is inscrutable, though. Like it's changing every five seconds, a new, completely different kind of thought to be concerned about.

She seems to settle on slight blush and being flustered, when Petra exchanges eye contact, and then diverges from that to making a tie tightening motion with her hands at Petra.

    Girl please fix your tie!!
Why wear one if you'll do this to it...
    That poor thing.

Her attention turns to Angela as she comes in. "Ah? I suppose so. Getting actual sleep certainly helped." That was certainly a big factor. She's never looking at that world's sky ever again. "E-Evil scheme?" Oh right. "Oh!"

Audrey turns to face Hibiki, doing the full polite bow in greeting. "Hello, Hibiki! I'm Audrey. I work here." The uniform kind of gave that away. "It's nice to meet you. Thank you for helping Angela!"

Then one last flip-- towards Netzach, who has woken up! Well, she just gave her name, so she does a polite curtsy for him when he asks Petra who she is, letting Petra handle it.
Hibiki Tachibana     "Er...nope, not a Sephirah here. Hibiki, hi," she replies to Audrey, although only after a moment of being a bit surprised at her appearance. Namely because, despite the fact she osmosed some vague knowledge of someone who sounds like her spending a lot of time here (by virtue of several radio back-and-forths involving her and Petra), she probably wasn't actually expecting to run into her, and they don't really know each other.

Well, there was the challenge on Mount Featherman, but they sort've went separate ways right at the start and didn't talk at all. "Like Angela said, I... helped things get to this point. I guess you could say I did it for her and the Sephirah both... nice to meet you. I'm glad they're getting some help here."

She briefly looks back into her bag. Hm.

Call her doubled-up on the surprise when she meets Petra Soroka in a social context again sooner than the one she put on her calendar, despite the fact she's done the equivalent of walking into somebody's living room and being surprised their roommate is also there. "Oh-- yeah. Somehow," Hibiki answers back with a glance to her burger, deciding not to make this weird and also taking Petra's natural backhandedness to the chin.

"I'm not the best in the kitchen, but I've been working on it. And Tiphereth here encouraged me to try not relying on Miku's help too much, and burgers aren't too hard, so..."

Yup, the one she hands to Tiphereth really is greasy. Well-cooked but not super well-put together, though that probably adds a quality to it all on its own. Without a doubt, ketchup will go spilling when she takes a bite into it. "If you're giving me so many compliments 'cause it'll get me to bring food over more... it might be working."

Hibiki chuckles again, reaching back into her bag. "I would've felt bad if any of the other librarians came around and I didn't have anything to give them, so... yeah, I did make more than I thought I'd need." Out comes one. And another. And another. And another...!? She actually did bring enough for everybody currently in the room to have one if they so chose.

What she doesn't say is any extras she'd probably just be eating herself later. "Don't tell me you woke up just to see me, Netzach?" She's giving him some extreme benefit of the doubt here. They all know it's for the food.
Petra Soroka "...But no. Hibiki is someone who assisted me in my evil scheme to take over the facility."

Slightly admonishing, Petra puts a hand on her hip and turns to Angela. "Ange, I know how you feel, but doesn't it sound a *little* bit like gloating when you say that in front of two of the people who were against you?"

Then she blinks. "Oh, wait, Audrey, you haven't met Hibiki? Hibiki, Audrey," She points back and forth as a half-assed introduction, then points at Netzach. "And Netzach, she's a-- she's barely even *new* anymore. She's been around for months, you've just been passed the fuck out for a while. Audrey works with me in General Works."

"You've actually got to start thinking about new hires too, you know. Angela's probably being lax on you because you just woke up, but Hod's got a list of interviews to do, and you're probably going to have to have some input there too, since basically your whole team's gone." A minor effect of Petra's time in Angela's memories is that Petra feels like she can boss the Sephirah around a bit. Also she doesn't like Netzach.

"Then maybe I will bite the bullet and wake Gebura."

Petra sighs and sits down-- on a ladder rather than on a chair, but at least it's a place to sit-- and rests her elbows on her knees. "Well... you *do* have to. It'd send a terrible message if you didn't. But you shouldn't do it until I'm there with you, because..." Is Petra really going to claim that she can beat the Red Mist in single combat? "... Because she'll probably be weaker than before, hopefully."

Girl please fix your tie!!

Petra, slouched on her ladder-seat, catches Audrey's look and gesture. Then, seized by a compulsion that she doesn't resist in time, she leans back and smugly tucks her elbow into an upper rung, tugging the knot of her tie a *tiny* bit looser as a dare, with her tongue stuck out. Then she hastily looks away to make sure Hibiki Tachibana didn't see.

"I'm not the best in the kitchen, but I've been working on it."

"Amazing. Miku'll make a wife out of you yet." That actually feels extremely weird for Petra to say, but she's already said it, so there's no taking it back now. Why is everyone in the sector a fucking lesbian? Why is Petra always so weird about all of them?

"Actually, speaking of bringing food-- Ange, once all the Sephirah are awake, do you think we could host a potluck or something? It's sort of, a celebration that you all can eat now, or something, and maybe... well, Lilian might not want to come--" Her voice hitches rather than mentioning Rita. "-- maybe, but to Sougo and Xion and the others, I think they'd... feel a little relieved by it? We could do it before Hokma wakes up specifically, too."

Burger... does Petra want burger...? She's staring at the pile of them on the table as if she does, but she doesn't move to grab one.
Angela Angela watches Audrey's expression change once every 500 seconds. Her eyes slant towards Audrey's blush. There are a few things that Angela's Time Curse helps with and it's readily seeing someone's fast changing expressions and getting plenty of time to analyze each one.

She has two conflicting opinions about this. On the one hand, envy and frustration. On the other hand, joy and relief. "So you got sleep?" Angela asks. Commenting on it would violate Angela's sense of propriety so she doesn't. Yes, she has no business feeling that way, Angela thinks. She has more important things to worry about. And no shortage of time.

The nice thing about burgers is that they don't need to be perfectly put together. Sometimes a messy burger is part of the fun of a burger. Tiphereth smirks at Hibiki and adds, "We call that positive reinforcement." And she looks back to the burger and ultimately removes her jacket and hangs it over the chair, sets down some napkins nearby and then--upon seeing there are more burgers--retrieves a ton of napkins. Tiphereth is a neat eater so she scootches her chair out and tries her best to at least keep the mess on the plate as she eats.

Another burger, another burger, and another. Even Angela gets burger, though Angela sets down some plates and ... utensils for everyone around the reading table. It's a bit cramped for everyone, but this is neccessary because Netzach was about to just eat in the chair he was on and get everything on his uniform.

''Don't tell me you woke up just to see me, Netzach?''

"Ah it's been a commotion for a while. I have to fly with the winds of fate here." Netzach says. "Hey Angela what's with the little green guys on my floor?"

"I do not know." Angela says before looking back to Hibiki. "Sometimes there are creatures."

She doesn't even say Abnormalities. She's not really sure what they are so in of itself that counts them as Abnormalities but they don't seem hostile and ... aren't actually from any of the Books or any Abnormality she had dealt with before. Maybe creatures sometimes just happen.

Tiphereth says, "Oof... This is amazing..." Tiphereth says. "Basically impossible to eat unmessily."

Angela is patiently cuttting up her burger into tiny, tiny pieces. "Thank you for your delivery, Hibiki, please feel free to have your own burgers too, of course. Were you bothered on your trip over?"

''Ange, I know how you feel, but doesn't it sound a *little* bit like gloating--''

Angela looks at Netzach who seems to be mostly interested in the burger. She stares at him until they notice.

"...Tiphereth and I both voted for Angela in the end." He says. "Too late to be butthurt about it."

"...I suppose I should be magnaminous in victory." Angela decides. "...Such as it is. I allowed my sense of humor to get the better of me."

''Since basically your whole team's gone...''

Netzach is still a slacker but he hesitates and then says, "Well there's Mikey... Maybe Moku... But Angela has already yelled at me for taking it easy..."

"I don't mind you 'taking it easy', what I mind is you taking it so easy you don't do anything." She shakes her head. She doesn't exactly have high hopes for Netzach as a general rule.
Angela ''But you shouldn't do it until I'm there with you.''

Angela hesitates. She doesn't think Gebura can hurt her within her own EGO but she is, specifically, the warrior who defies reason. She best be careful. "Understood. When she's ready I will ask you for a good day."

Part of her worries she's just going to have to fight Gebura forever if she doesn't kill her.

''Tongue stuck out''
''Why is everyone in the sector a fucking lesbian?''

Angela can't help but smile. Okay, that was cute. It's fine, Angela thinks. She can worry about it once she's properly who she wants to be. Some things have to come first.

"I like the idea of a potluck." Angela says. "Lilian has indicated that she wanted to pay a visit already. But I do admit I am not sure a ''potluck'' would be an ideal first visit for her." She hasn't even thought about Benjamin. He has to be last. What even is their relationship now?

''Does Petra want burger...?''

Angela, without a word, sets an extra burger down on a plate, set closest to where Petra is.

"...I there a reason before Benjamin?" She asks, despite her own complexities on the matter.
Audrey Basque     "Er...nope, not a Sephirah here. Hibiki, hi,"

Audrey smiles at Hibiki's claim of having wanted to help the Sephirah too. "I'm glad. I didn't get to-- w-well, obviously, you didn't see me back then, so I'm only now getting to know everyone, but... everyone here has been so nice and welcoming to me, I can't help but be thankful to those who helped them."

She briefly turns to look at Angela.
"Yes, even Binah," she echoes from a previous time.

With Hibiki producing MANY BURGERS, Audrey sniffs the air, drawn inevitably to the food. "O-Oh, you... made so many. That is.. if it's alright, could I...?"

    She wouldn't dare, without permission.

"And Netzach, she's a-- she's barely even *new* anymore."

"W-Well, it's only been... a month, or a bit over that, really. Still, it's very nice to meet you, Netzach. I look forward to working alongside you!"

    Being Petra's tie is suffering.

Audrey mock pouts in Petra's general direction, which brings a bit of much-needed levity to the atmosphere for her. That tie is a victim, and the rest of the uniform suffers for it.

    "So you got sleep?"

"Yes! I won't go into the nitty gritty of it, but last week I saw... there was a lot on my mind. Haunting images from a terrible world. But spending the night here and..." She makes a vague head motion towards Petra, per her prior promise to Angela that she wouldn't let it sit forever, "Well. Things are better. S-So... thank you, Angela." Their talk had helped a lot.

    "Sometimes there are creatures."

Audrey squints as she looks at one of the little-- she thought they were decorations! "These are... creatures?"

There's also a lot of talk about Gebura.
Audrey obviously never met her, but the prospect of violence seems to be becoming normal enough she isn't imminently worried about it.

    THAT worries her, though.
Hibiki Tachibana     Basically impossible to eat unmessily.
Were you bothered on your trip over?

"That's burgers for you," Hibiki chuckles quietly, watching Tiphereth enjoy her very first burger ever. She's not sure of the sort of feeling it warms her chest with. Maybe it's just knowing something you made yourself could make somebody look that content. Before she realized it, she had her elbow propped on her knee and was taking in the vibes by the time her head turns to Angela. "Oh, no. I've gotten pretty decent at avoiding trouble on the streets. Get close enough to here and it's basically a clear walk, anyway..."

She actually didn't notice the Little Green Guys until now. Maybe she should've brought even more.

Though Hibiki is still taking a burger for herself, even if she's still eying the elevator as if Roland or someone might step in and make themselves at home any moment. She also has a bit of a complication expression when the conversation goes to diminished agent count.

"Um... sorry for sort've... poaching Rose and all." Awkward.

Amazing. Miku'll make a wife out of you yet.

"A-Ah-- er-- um..." It's always up in the air what'll get Hibiki actually flustered and what'll bounce off of her impossibly dense skull, but this seems to be straightforward (and unexpected, from Petra) enough that she actually goes red in the face and shifts her attention down to the floor between her feet.

"...I-It'd be terrible if I couldn't do my share around the house, too. I'm spending my life with her, after all..."

I didn't get to-- w-well, obviously, you didn't see me back then, so I'm only now getting to know everyone, but... everyone here has been so nice and welcoming to me, I can't help but be thankful to those who helped them.

In order to help recollect herself, she hands Angela the burger to hand to Petra, as a minor way of busying herself. That, along with the subject included. "...Well. I imagine Hokma would be the one more opposed to how things have turned out than anybody...?

Audrey also gets one handed to her directly, answering her question on if she can have one. "After getting to know some of them really well, and helping them come to terms with what happened to them, I... well. I just couldn't let things go the way they were going to."
Petra Soroka "Sometimes there are creatures."

That's true. Petra nods sagely. Then she remembers something, and leans forwards on her ladder-chair. "Oh, yeah, Ange. I still need to write up the full report to you, but Fox was saying he wanted to study Abnormalities and other weird things like that. Maybe the little green guys on the Art floor could be a good target for that first, though... I guess they *are* probably part of your EGO? But they seem safe, anyways."

"...Such as it is."

"Well, it'll be more of a victory soon. And then people might *really* get annoyed if you're smug about it. Which..." Maybe Petra's getting too smug about having a way to get Angela out of the Library. She wobbles her hand. "Well, it'd be funny to be smug about it. But only around safe company. Not that Tiphereth or Neztach would really do anything to you."

"But I do admit I am not sure a ''potluck'' would be an ideal first visit for her."

"Yeah... definitely not. She's not really part of the..." 'Slurry of interchangeable idiots you can appease with a single gesture of good faith', is what Petra would say, but it seems maybe a little too rude. Also Hibiki is standing right there. "She'd probably prefer to only see you on a first visit anyways. And the Sephirah."

"... Probably not until after we try that trick with me and the Tree of Light, right? I think she'd... be better off seeing some sort of 'progress', so it's not hopeless feeling." Also, Petra is very anxious about Lilian coming here. Without Petra being in Lilian's good graces anymore, it feels like Lilian is a looming threat that can demand Petra's exocommunication from anywhere she's salvaged as a place to exist. She's all too aware that nowhere, not even here, would stay by her if Lilian wanted her gone.

"...I there a reason before Benjamin?"

"I think he sucks," Petra says, poutily. She is not a fan of dads! "He'd fuck up the vibe. Maybe bring him a doggy bag or something."

But spending the night here and..." She makes a vague head motion towards Petra

DANGER!!!!! A DANGEROUS IMPLICATION HAS BEEN AIMED IN PETRA'S DIRECTION! Petra sits upright, stiff and wide-eyed, looking over between Audrey and Angela in alarm, then over to Hibiki Tachibana, who is thankfully very stupid and notices nothing. "A-ah, er, I... well.... Gl-glad you're feeling better, Audrey."

"Um... sorry for sort've... poaching Rose and all."

Petra has Smoothly Dispatched the threat. She is increasingly stressed out by Audrey's nonchalance in everything to do with Petra, though, whether they're talking or avoiding talking. After shrinking a little bit like a balloon animal with a pinprick hole, she sighs and waves Hibiki's apology off.

"Don't worry about it. I gave them all the chance to leave; she would've taken it whether it was you or not. But, like, she's not getting her backpay, since her ass left already." Petra hesitates. "Well, unless she asks." A true hardened villain.

"I'm spending my life with her, after all..."

Petra snickers, and then leans forwards and makes grabby hands until the burger plate is put into her hands. A constellation of morphmetal floats up beside her and splits apart into several different esoterically unusable sharp utensils, that start carefully dissecting the burger for Petra to eat without getting a drop of grease on herself. "You're such a fucking *sap*. You...."

The sentence 'you never know when she'll randomly die or something' is moments away from exiting Petra's mouth without her even thinking about it or being in a bad mood at all. When she catches herself, it's with a weird emotional lurch that belatedly makes her feel gutpunched and uncertain why she'd even have the impulse to say something like that. Her burger-eating suddenly stalls, and she trails off into silence, poking at it.
Angela ''Sorry for sort've... poaching Rose and all.''

"Are you actually sorry for that?" Angela asks. "No. We are giving everybody the opportunity to leave. Within reason." She glances at Petra. Somehow, it feels like Petra has become her conscience, since Angela definitely isn't so sure she'd have let them leave so readily on her own. But she can't argue with Petra that if their goal is to do better than The City, they actually have to do ''better than The City''. But the truth is doing better than The City is a less important goal to Angela than getting the fuck out of The City to begin with. She can't help but worry that if she DOES do better than the City that she'll never be able to leave it. It almost feels as if it is by some cruel design.

''But they seem safe, anyways.''

Angela says, "Yes they seem harmless." Angela isn't sure what they are either. She's not sure why there are just creatures on that floor in general. Maybe they're just there to ensure there is always some form of company present? ... That sounds a little pathetic though so Angela is not going to think of it like that.

"I am not certain they can exist outside of The Library, but I don't mind if Fox studies Anomolous Entities." She doesn't think TIphereth and Netzach would 'do anything to her' either but she admits, "I'll do what I can to temper my lower case ego." She decides which isn't much of a promise but it's what she can do right now.

She mulls further. "But it may be some time before the potluck anyway, perhaps if I invite her sooner rather than later...Though I am worried that I am missing a certain something to make the living space seem ... suitably impressive to her. It's ''important'' that she approves of what was done to the facility. If she arrives and it doesn't even approach her standards, that would be a worse case scenario. So before I can even invite her, we should discuss what else the Library needs first. In fact, perhaps I should make that an open question. What would improve the living arrangements here?" She isn't expecting HIbiki to have much of an answer but Audrey and Petra know the facility well by now. But that doesn't mean she isn't curious what she has to say--after all, sometimes a fresh pair of eyes is exactly what you need. It's a wonderful arrangement of people here she can pick the minds of.

She bobs her head at Benjamin sucking. She scootches her chair a little closer to Petra's and reaches for her hand, under the table, to give it a squeeze. That's not about Benjamin. But it's not about something Petra had actually finished saying either.
Angela Tiphereth is a little more frustrated at losing Rose. "Nikki mentioned wanting to join the Concord." She complains. "Nonon's gone. Rose's gone. If it's just going to be Carol I'm gonna be in trouble and I'm not even sure I can hold onto her either."

Hibiki hasn't noticed the Little Green Guys because they are on the Art Floor, a totally different Floor! Tiphereth IS enjoying the burger, but she's being as careful as she can while Netzach has already finished his like Jughead (comic-type). Angela has had two pieces of burger and that seems to have been enough for her and has slide her table over to Netzach so he can clean them up like she's offering them to a family pet.

"You outdid yourself, Hibiki. Your growth has been encouraging." Maybe she's just glad that Hibiki didn't comically burn them or something. She's a little worried Solty will be very anime about the Yubu she intends to work on but it's important to let children be fumble and make fools of themselves. It's how they learn. And who knows? Maybe her expectation is off the mark. She's already been surprised lately.

''There are creatures?''

"Yeah,"Netzach says, tossing a burger bit in his mouth. "There's a whole slew of them on my floor. And other weird stuff. Maybe because it's the ''Art'' floor? ... Ehh I don't know."

Angela looks to Audrey as well and adds, "Well it seems that time sometimes is the answer." She settles on that. "But I might have to teach you about matters of discretion." Saying she might need to teach her on matters of discretion is the first lesson BUCKO. People might comment on things you aren't dicreet about! "That is. If discretion is what you desire."

''Yes, even Binah.''

"...She has been strangely get-along-able lately..." Angela murmurs which is a weird thing in her head to say about the secret police officer.
Audrey Basque     Audrey acquires BURGER x1

The assistant librarian that is Audrey puts the books she's been carrying on the table, to observer the homemade burger she's been offered. "Ah! Thank you!" This offering is even sufficient for her to overlook (not entirely) the fact that Hibiki has a wife-to-be.

... that reflex is never going away.

It's not disgust, exactly, it's... that weird side-look you give someone who just said something a little bit offensive, but not so much that you feel the need to make a scene about it. But enough that she notices, makes a face, and consigns herself to just not being that person tonight.

Petra making a lot of gestures and then falling silent.

It doesn't escape Audrey's notice she said the wrong combination of words in the incorrect order and now it sounds like something else entirely. Now she's the one who's wide-eyed for a moment, looking at Angela like 'Hey but, don't get any ideas? It was just sleep. Really. I mean it! It was talking and sleeping!'. It's a very specific stare! It most certainly does not convey that across in full.

Petra's awkward silence is more concerning though-- but it just makes Audrey equally awkward, and not dare ask what's wrong.

"What would improve the living arrangements here?"

Audrey turns to look at Angela, idly munching on the burger provided to her. She swallows-- beams a smile at Hibiki, to indicate it's delicious-- and then ponders the question. "If you're looking to impress Miss Rook... I'm the wrong person to ask, for sure. If you mean in general..."

    She wonders.

"More communal spaces might not hurt. Eating food this close to books," she gestures to the floor around them, "Is worrying me intensely. A few rooms without books, and meant to be... recreational, or communal rest areas, a reception hall for eating... if there's not enough space, I can help make more, so it could be worth considering."

"But I might have to teach you about matters of discretion."

    Audrey reddens a bit.
"A-Angela, please, it isn't... it's not..." She raises a hand to her mouth, coughing to clear her throat and refocus her voice. "I did not mean it like that. I did sleep. I hadn't much for several days, so... it was beginning to catch up. I truly wish I had the ability to not need sleep, like you."
Hibiki Tachibana     Thankfully, Hibiki Tachibana is an idiot who sees nothing wrong with librarians spending the night with each other.

She's also a bit dense enough, to vaguely wonder what that brief look on Audrey's face was all about before deciding she'd have said it out loud if it was important.

She also may or may not be an idiot you can appease with a single gesture of good faith. Though really, that just sort of comes with the territory of being the one always willing to give out chances, no matter what someone has actually done. Petra is basically one of the only people that's ever hit the limits of her goodwill, which...

...says a lot. Also probably says something that they're on relatively okay terms, still. Somehow. If they weren't, they wouldn't be here eating burgers together.

Nonon's gone. Rose's gone. If it's just going to be Carol I'm gonna be in trouble and I'm not even sure I can hold onto her either.
Are you actually sorry for that?

"Well..." Hibiki starts, and then actually thinks about it.

"...In the sense that it makes it harder on you guys without help, yeah," she admits. "It's not like I'm happy about that. But for Rose finding an opportunity to live a more decent life, or even choosing the side I did during the war here... ...I'd probably do them again."

"So, um." She side-glances. "...Sort of?"

You're such a fucking *sap*. You...

Petra doesn't often trail off. That's usually her thing. Unfortunately, the neutron star density of her skull isn't quite enough for her to gloss over Petra's recent loss, which is also something frequently on her own mind when thinking about Petra - so even if the implication of 'Miku randomly dying one day' goes unsaid, Hibiki still grimaces and briefly pauses her own eating.

By way of breaking the stalling, "...Honestly, Miku would probably say I'm not honest enough about that stuff. I think I'm pretty bad about it..." As if an embarrassing admission might help re-break the ice a bit.

You outdid yourself, Hibiki. Your growth has been encouraging.
She swallows-- beams a smile at Hibiki, to indicate it's delicious-- and then ponders the question.

"If you praise me any more than that, I'm gonna start getting smug." Hibiki says with closed eyes, keeping her momentum going for her own sake. She's never been smug in her life and it's difficult to imagine it.

"Though... yeah. You could do with a dedicated spot to eat, I think. Especially with how many people are pretty much calling the Library... home." After a pause for another bite, "...I wouldn't mind stopping by more. See Hod and the others. I kinda just made normal burgers this time, but once I figure out everybody's preferences..."
Petra Soroka "What would improve the living arrangements here?"

"Hahhhn..." Petra sighs, and her little Silver utensils dissolve into formless globs that idly make vague shapes in reference to Petra's ideas. "Things that Lilian likes... she likes when environments feel 'well considered'. The fact that there's so much that's 'accidental' about the Library would disappoint her a little. She likes darker colors in architecture and stuff in general, but not in, like, a super goth way; more like in a way that feels weighty and high quality, like people have been living here long enough to pay attention to making sure they're caring for the objects they use every day. I mean, they haven't, but the other agents might be good people to check in with too."

"I think she'd like Hod's floor, dislike Technological Sciences, and would either really like this one or be bothered by it. She might be charmed by the little green guys in Art, but not if you're apathetic towards them. She likes communal spaces that aren't too cramped, and would be impressed if you expanded the gym in Disciplinary-- Language more. She'd be really happy with a garden, but the orange tree's probably... I mean, maybe you could center the garden around it, but nothing else is going to grow like that. She'd compliment you on having a range of food options available but I think we'd need to hire a lot more personnel for that, and I have no idea how we'd get the supplies in anyways."

"Um... I think you could show off Binah's floor, but only if she's having a good visit already. She values those sorts of... aesthetic expressions of soul, as long as it's got meat that she can draw out and sort of... cooperatively enjoy by observing that part of you. She'll want to see that the agents are cared for, and not just that their Sims bars are getting filled, but in a way that Lobotomy Corporation couldn't ever do."

After all of that. Petra twirls her finger around the edge of her plate, seemingly dejected. "Sorry. That's all I can think of off the top of my head."

Petra cannot have her hand reached for under the table because she is sitting on a ladder and balancing the burger plate on her knees. This is fine though. She'll squeeze Angela's hand regardless, as long as Angela scootches away from the table far enough to reach.

"Maybe because it's the ''Art'' floor? ... Ehh I don't know."

Petra narrows her eyes at Netzach. "Oh my god. Can't you care about anything? Do you even have plans for your floor? Do you care that much about art at all?"
Petra Soroka "But I might have to teach you about matters of discretion."

Petra immediately makes every single connection necessary to remember that Angela definitely knows about every single thing that went on between herself and Audrey. She starts turning pinker, and stuffs another segment of burger in her mouth to not choke or make some kind of stressed-out or undignified noise.

"I truly wish I had the ability to not need sleep, like you."

In order to move the conversation in a safer direction, Petra latches onto the first topic she can. She swallows midway through her first phrase, in her eagerness to start talking about anything else at all. "Oh, yeah-- honestly, I don't mind sleeping, but I've really been getting terrible sleep lately. I mean, no points for the days it's out somewhere in the woods or whatever, not that I sleep much better anywhere-- here, but it's bad enough to make me miss how the Silver made me actually feel well-rested every day. Like, I got sent to the empty nightmare void every night, but at least I'd be feeling fine once I got out of it."

"...Honestly, Miku would probably say I'm not honest enough about that stuff."

Petra smiles faintly, looking down at her plate. She picks up her last section of burger and turns it around in her fingers. "Yeah, well... maybe. You're kind of a dunce, but anyone who likes you would know that that's sort of one of your good points, so... I don't know anything who would say that sunshine line with a straight face as often as you do."
Angela ''Can't you care about anything? Do you even have plans for your floor? Do you care that much about art at all?''

Netzach stares up at the ceiling for a moment and then pushes forward again with a crooked smile. "Art's fun. And I like the little guys. But everyone here is so quick to try to dissect and understand and... epxlain. Sure I prefer the easy life, but can't the little guys just be little guys? I guess that's how I feel about it. I'll figure it out along as I go. Any art I'm passionate about has to have the same flow I'm looking for."

Angela meanwhile quirks her head at Audrey. Quick expressions are slow ones for her but her own is completely blank when Audrey goes wide-eyed and looks at her like that.

"I... am, to clarify, not looking to design the space wholly around what would be best for Lilian, I am looking to design the space that she will acknowledge as being an improvement for the people that have chosen to live, work, or stay here. She is the Director of Trideag, it is politically advantageous that she see this place as worth protecting for reasons beyond the presence of a few people she likes here."

''I did not mean it like that.''

"I have no idea what you are referring to Audrey. But we can discuss it later in private if you'd like." Is this lesson two!? She does kind of like seeing Audrey get red and stammer and sputter but keeps her expression carefully neutral. It nearly cracks, but she has a lot of experience with the practiced blank stare.

"Wow this burger's great." Tiphereth says, as if trying to dispel awkwardness by returning to burger talk. "It's the best burger I ever had."

"And the only one." Netzach points out.

"Still true though." Tiphereth sticks her tongue out at Netzach. Honestly, now that they have human form, more of their personality is evident than when they were Cognition Filtered people or just boxbot people with one eye. Tiphereth is a little bit like Angela in which she cares for her appearances and is trying to avoid getting messy and cares very much about being respected and seen as capable, but she does have some youthful energy still. Netzach, well...

''So, um. Sort of?''

"Uffh... Don't apologize for helping that girl out. It's fine to be proud of it." Tiphereth complains.

"We do appreciate your concern for us. But we will be fine. Needing extra hands to sort books is not the end of the world. If anything, there may be something of an opportunity here to follow the Dame Commander's last order."

''I'm going to start getting smug.''

"...It's fine to get smug now and then." Angela says. "But... Yes. A communal space is a good idea. There is Chesed's floor, of course, but going up to the same level any time someone wants to eat or relax is a bit ridiculous. There should at least be some space on every floor if possible, even if his Floor is bound to be a bit more focused in that regard due to his experience as Welfare Sephirah."

Then again Art isn't really SAFETY is it?
Angela Of course she's not really surprised when Petra has put the most thought in what Lilian would want out of a space like this. "I see. The more accidental the Library appears, the more accidental ''I'' appear. Even if it was essentially an accident I should ensure there is some consideration to making accident into opportunity." She isn't so sure about repainting the Library to be darker--for one thing everything is still pretty color coded to the Sephirah--

"Perhaps..." Angela murmurs thoughtfully. "We don't need to worry about the exact workings of the 'little guys'... But we should consider their environment and what they prefer in how they are treated and cared for. And if they even need care. I imagine Fox is more interested in that than a ''dissection' or some other heartlessly morbid endeavour."

Angela's also charmed by the little green guys. Of course she is. It'd be weird if she wasn't, right?

The other logistical concerns bother her. They need to do more hiring, more adjustments to the floors that haven't come to be yet--could a garden fit in Welfare? The EGO doesn't exactly need to follow natural law but--"It is honestly a little strange to think that a garden may be difficult to set up within a ''tree''. Surely something can be done without relying on Silent Girl's old chamber." And that is, also, ANGELA'S place. She is a little leery of opening that up to everyone anyway.

She shakes her head. "Don't apologize. That is plenty to begin with. Frankly, it is enough that I struggle to consider where to begin. I will ask Roland as well since he seems to have a good grasp on City politics."

Angela ends up having to squeeze hand above table but that's fine. She tries not to think too hard about Petra living out in the woods. Did she push her too hard to take a break from the constant living in the Library? No, they knew that was RIGHT, but perhaps she should have insisted she stay until she found, like, a new apartment maybe? One that wasn't blown up? ... Maybe Audrey has a place? Yes, if they are going to blush and stammer with one another, maybe there's a way she could take responsibility? She has to think on this.

"...Ah. I do need to talk to Dimo eventually." She has to figure out what to do with the Manuals. Or at least the one Manual she has.
