John Connor      LOS ANGELES
     EARLY EVENING

The sun is setting, casting the city into a warm orange glow. John Connor, in a hooded sweatshirt and jeans, is wandering down the street, asking a few people if they've seen a girl - about my height, long brown hair, doesn't say much...

It doesn't seem like many people have any idea who he's talking about, although they point him towards a halfway house. Strange. Why on Earth would she have ended up there?
Finna     With the sun down, even a creature most comfortable in the arctic climate can manage to get around here. Finna's using her fox form, bounding through warp gates and down streets, though few people will be taking much notice of her. With Luna's grace, she steps with the subtlety of moonlight, only considered when she wishes to be. Sure, a handful of people turn this way or that and look, but overall... nobody follows up on what might've just been some litter blasting past.

The only person she wants paying her much attention is John, after all!

The extremely fluffily-furred white vulpine comes trotting at high speed around a corner and right over to John. And if he doesn't notice her on approach, she'll make her presence known by lightly headbutting him in the leg!
John Connor      John blinks, looking down at the fox that it butting at his leg. "Uh, woah," he says, stepping back. "Hey. Weren't you one of the people who helped out my mom? At the plant?" He's very aware he's talking to a fox. He tries to make it seem as normal as possible.
Finna     It might be weird indeed how expressive that fox is as it looks up at John, panting the whole time much like a dog. It's kinda hot out here after all.

Yet the creature makes a warm, chirp-like noise that's definitely an affirmative.

And she runs straight around John Connor, as if expecting something. Sniffs at the ground... mostly normal behavior.

Up until she trots out in front of him and gazes up, anyways, and cocks her head.

At right that moment, John will get this INCREDIBLY UNCANNY sensation from that body language. It's as though the fox is asking him, by just that simple cant of the head, 'is this where she's supposed to be?'
John Connor      John stares down at Finna the fox. "Uhhh..."

"Yeah," John says, after a moment. "You're in the right place. You remember Cameron, right? She was at the plant. We're looking for her."
Finna     The critter gives another affirmative chirp, then gazes out at the halfway house for a brief moment. Tail wagging, she gazes expectantly up at him, as if saying 'lead on.'

Something in the way her eyes flick about and finally settle on John says, 'Scent's easier than sight. Got anything of hers in case we can't find her around?'

Without waiting for much of an answer, Finna turns around, lightly thwacks John probably by coincidence with her wagging tail, and trots towards the Halfway house...
John Connor      John shakes his head. "No," he says, continuing on his way towards the halfway house. "She doesn't really own anything. She'll probably smell different, though. Just follow your nose." He sets his hands in his pockets, looking the perfect image of a surly, withdrawn teenage man.

The halfway house isn't far. It's a squat, two-story building that looks like it's seen better days. There's a fair few people around, all of them quite young. John doesn't seem to recognise any of them, and none of them smell like a robot in a fleshy disguise.
Kotone Yamakawa The pair would find a certian someone John hasn't seen in a while and it's like as she calls in dept she should be easy enogh to spot at this point by Finna or Jon.

"Hey It's been a while J."

She knows it's unwise to use his full name given he has crazed hunter killer bots after him. She an't help but shudder about how easy it wouldbe to turn a mil spec cyborg body into an killer android. She also seem to be rubbing part of her face without thinking about it as well oddly.
Finna     Thankfully, there is enough cover around that Finna feels comfortable shifting to her human form. SOMEHOW or another, she does so while wearing region-appropriate clothing... black pants and a sleeveless shirt matching the color of her icy blue eyes. She does indeed have fox features, which John might manage to spot, but chances are... nobody else around here's gonna take ANY notice of her, or the way her tail's wagging about merrily.

She somehow manages to twitch her nose at him, while channeling enough magic through her body to keep her senses as sharp as they need to be. "Mweheh. Why she'd be here, I haven't the foggiest.."
John Connor      "Hey, Kotone," John says, giving her a wan smile. He seems so much more weary than he used to. So weary that the fact that Finna shapeshifts doesn't seem to draw much of anything from him. "Yeah, I don't know, either. Come on."

John makes his way inside, pausing at the front desk to ask whether they've seen Cameron. He glances around and spots her instantly.

Over at a foosball table. Playing foosball. What in the...
Finna     "...A little worried over nothing, aren't you?" Finna snorts, mildly amused... though the way John's acting so weary has her confused and slightly disappointed. Looks like a case for 'someone needs to laugh some more' in their life!

A further glance is aimed Kotone's way, bt beyond giving her a friendly smile in greeting, not much to say there.

So instead of worrying about this, Finna heads over to go observe the game!
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa looks at Ginna for a moment an pause at Cameron she gives her a look over for a moment and peers the terminator is playing a game? This is new, this is very new she muses.

"IT's been good to see your all right by the way. I admit I'm a bit afraid if your trouble ever finds my world."

A world where the line between man and machine is blurring rapidly? Skynet might have too much fun on the local net there.
John Connor      John gives Finna a look. "The last time she went odd, she tried to kill me. If that happens again, I'd like a head start."

Cameron is... smiling and laughing and looking far more animated than usual as she soundly thrashes someone at foosball. Breaking away from Finna and Kotone, John makes his way over. "Hey," he begins, "What the hell are you doing?"

     Cameron laughs. "Playing foosball."

     "We've gotta go," John insists.

     "Go where?"

...are they sure they have the right girl?
Finna     Hard to say. Finna's not sure what's so unusual about playing games and being a different person on and off the battlefield, so she strolls up a bit closer and discretely sniffs. Maybe the nose knows better!

And whatever magic that Finna was using to communicate with JOhn's still active, for she just smiles at him. It's an incredibly reassuring one that says 'don't worry, I'm here after all!'
John Connor      Well, she smells like Cameron - that strange scent that says 'this person is a fake person'. John doesn't seem reassured. "Home," he says to Cameron.

"Home?" she asks, seeming bewildered. "Who even are you?"

     "Cameron..."

     "My name's Alison."

John blinks, and shakes his head. He looks frustrated.
Kotone Yamakawa Ko just opens her outh to try and form words, none come out she stares at Cameron playing, being perky and well acting freaking utterly human. What the heck is going on here? She has to wonder abou this.

"What how, why?!"
Finna     Finna blinks a few times, casts a sideways sort of look at John ad Kotone that contains a very powerful meaning. 'MIght be her! Smells close enough. You're being praaaaaanked!'
John Connor      John glances at Kotone and Finna. "She doesn't do pranks," he says, as a quick aside to the latter, before trying again to convince 'Allison'. "No, it's not. It's Cameron. Look, I can't explain this right now, but we have to go before mom gets home."

Cameron takes a step back, giving John a quizzical look. "You're freaking me out."

"I'm freaking /you/ out? You really don't know who you are?"

"I'm Allison. From Palmdale," Cameron insists.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa stares more at this point she tilts her head and looks to Cameron for a moment Kotone opens her wireless and sees if she can /get/ any signs that this is Cameron or this might just be a look a like you never know.
Finna     Surprised, Finna's looking between 'Cmaeron?' and John now, though she does glance at Kotone once to check her expression. "Ah, well, if Cameron's not around, maybe I'll go home with you instead." Finna announces in only slightly accented english.

    What.
John Connor      It's definitely Cameron. Kotone can easily figure out that there's a Terminator chassis beneath that pleasant exterior. They have the right girl, even if she doesn't seem to think she's the right girl. But how are they going to get Allison to come home with them?

"You're not Allison. You're not from Palmdale. You're from the-" But before John says something /really/ stupid, Finna steps in.

     John pauses. "Wh-?"

And 'Allison' pauses, too. She turns her head to /stare/ at Finna, that smile slowly dropping from her face.
Finna     "Oh, what, why would that bother you, Allison?" Finna grins innocently at 'Allison.' It's a fearless grin though, and hides undertones of 'got you so badly, now what will you do?'

Given her expressive nature right now, EVERYONE IN THE ROOM can make out that little message.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa pauses for a moment at fina and then makes a very amused face at what she's just done for a moment she stares wondering how this will play out as this clearly is Cameron what is the terminator up to she has to wonder?
John Connor      'Allison' continues to stare right at Finna, with an expression that is only a bit on the blank side of hostile. She takes one step towards Finna, and then another, and John slips in between the pair. "Woah, woah. Easy!"

"Because you're a security risk," 'Allison' says, in that bland and certainly welcome tone that is more associated with Cameron. "You're not right for John and he's not right for you." Her left hand twitches spasmodically, but she seems unaware of it.
Finna     "Ah, no worries there. It's not like I was about to up and marry him!" Finna answers airily. Although she is deliberately doing NOTHING at all to dispel whatever assumptions Cameron seems to be making. Indeed, there's a somewhat amused, feral gleam in her eyes that says she doesn't care at ALL if some sort of scene sprouts out of this.

And that she's pretty aware of how fast Cameron could probably be. "No need to spaz out, hm?" The fox ears twitch. And her tail's still wagging, though the pace has evened out...
John Connor      Cameron steps forward, but doesn't move past John. She stares over his shoulder at Finna. "Good. He is too young to be married. And I am not going to 'spaz out'."

By now, though, a few people have begun to stare at the small, strange group. John looks left and right. "Not that this isn't great and all," he says, slowly, "But maybe you can have your little fight somewhere that /isn't/ in public?"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa notices the twitch for a moment she peers at them for a moment she ilts her head and smirks at John for a moment "Well you are one of the most dangerous mnen I'm aware of but ya little too young. IT might be bes to have it out somewhere there are not prying eyes?"
Finna     "really? I would've pegged him eligible for about..." She suddenly turns about, eying John with a now serious sort of critique... "....Hrm. Four years, maybe."

Where the hell does Finna come from, then?

Spotting the crowd, she flashes EVERYONE a bright and cheery - if mischevious - little smile. "Well, since Cameron's not here, guess we don't have to be either. Onward!"

She turns about, grabs John's arm, and just tries to drag him out the door with her.

She's found the best bait to get Cameron's attention, after all.
John Connor      John gets hauled along by Finna, simply because it means they're less likely to have a crazy brawl in a public place. "I'm sixteen," John tells Finna with a bit of a huff as they head outside.

It's good bait, as it turns out, because Cameron follows right behind. She doesn't grab John or Finna or anything, but the expression on her face is certainly not pleased - which is unusual in and of itself.

Eventually, John does his best to shake his way out of Finna's hold on him. "What the hell, Cameron? What were you doing?" he snaps, crossing his arms.

     "I don't know."

"Since when don't you know things?"

"I don't know," Cameron repeats, as the set of four wander down the sidewalk.
Finna     Finna's well aware of the hostility Cameron's all but broadcasting,. She's tense the whole time, though doin her best to not show it. As if expecting that John's self-professed 'better match' will suddenly flip out.

    Who knows. She might.

At this point, she's less concerned about Kotone. Hopefully she's keeping up.

Of course, soon John slips free of her grasp and she takes the oportunity to slip to the side and give Cameron a look.

And by chance (NOT) she was steering them towards a fairly empty corner and alley she came through earlier, so there's nobody around to overhear things.

"For an automaton, I'm impressed, Cameron. You're a whole head and shoulders beyond those others at that big machine facility... the 'plant' it was called?"

And to John: "Ah, for Earth years... huh... a year or two, maybe... if anyone was in a hurry, anyways, you'd be eligible. Hear that Cameron? You can marry him if you do it where I live!"

Okay now she's just trolling her.
