| Riku Asakura | Like before, Dysnomia is given a ride in a black vehicle from the warp gate travel area. This time, however, it's not in a limo, but in a regular sedan. The driver is a quiet man who has instructions to drive her to a building owned by the MIB so that she can talk to their agents about Ultraman Belial. The building is strangely nestled in a group of other buildings, with the facade of Niconico Life Insurance. Meeting her at the door is Moa, who is her usual bright and cheerful self. Unlike the stoic Zenna, Moa is talkative the whole way from the door to the meeting room inside the base. "So what part of the Multiverse are you from?" She asks about halfway through their walk. At this point, there is a special door that leads from the facade into the actual part of the AIB base itself. The difference is stark, with black and green panels and a carpetless floor. It feels much more like a spaceship than a building. Eventually, they reach where they are going to talk. Moa opens the door again and lets Dysnomia into a room with a table. It's one of those conference tables, but on one side of it is a man with what looks like a silver helmet, a gold face, and two red hands in the AIB suit. He stands up and nods once to Moa, who closes the door. In Zenna's voice, he speaks to Dysnomia, "Thank you for meeting with me about what knowledge you have on Ultraman Belial. If there is anything you wish to know, then I'll do my best to share intelligence with you during this meeting, but know it's not as much as we would like on the activities of Belial." |
| Dysnomia | Dysnomia doesn't bother dressing for stealth, here. She's wearing her usual jumpsuit, with her jacket over the top of it. She looks, in short, exactly like you'd imagine an elite would look, looking across the warpgate with pupilless eyes. She assesses the van, as it drives up, a slow, measured way. She wasn't sure what she thought of the AIB, not really. They'd already demonstrated that their priorities were a ltitle different, than what she was used to. Still, Dysnomia didn't know that she particularly trusted them. ...But, Belial had once promised to be a shepherd of those monsterse under his possession. But now...Dysnomia wondered whether he thought of them as anything but power? Perhaps, that had always been what they were to him. She steps into the van, cooly, and takes a seat for the ride. "So what part of the Multiverse are you from?" It's a little hard to keep up her standoffish energy in the face of such relentless positivity. She blinks at Moa, a little baffled, before, "It's a star system surrounding Ran. A nation in the outer system, called the Nine Moons." Her eyes peered out the windows, as they . "It's an awful place. And not where Belial is from." She couldn't imagine they'd still be curious, knowing that. Surely she was just an attempt to case her for information. "This doesn't look like terran architecture to me." She gestures to the wall, "Where's it from?" "Thank you for meeting with me about what knowledge you have on Ultraman Belial. Whatever her answer is, she steps in and sits across from Zenna, pulling out a chair and settling down, hands clasped on the table. "I've met him before. He is from the broader multiverse." She said, easily. "I wasn't sure before--but then, I touched his mind, through Alien Sturm. He is the same ultraman. Only..." She pauses, weighing things in her mind. "Before I share what I know. And suspect, tell me what you do know for sure. And what you think." |
| Riku Asakura | Moa is happy to listen to Dysnomia, though a little disheartened to learn that Dysnomia is from an awful place. The smile wavers a little bit, "Oh sorry, I didn't mean to bring up any bad memories..." she says, apologetic. Likely, she was curious about the Multiverse, just like she was curious about the universe around her. "Oh, it's uh... I'm not sure, to be honest. We at the AIB get technology and such from a great number of alien worlds, so I couldn't begin even to guess which ones donated to the office on Earth. Honestly, I'm one of the only humans in the AIB, because it's mostly an alien-driven organization." With Zenna, he doesn't lean forward or away; he seems to keep the same posture regardless of what she says. "The broader Multiverse, you say? Strange, because we have only unified a few years ago now. Right before the first appearance of Ultraman Geed," Zenna says, thoughtfully. "Though this isn't unbelievable. It is said that the Land of Light is in a different universe, and that Ultramen are capable of traveling between them." Zenna hangs on her word, stopping at 'Only...' when Dysnomia decides she wants information in return. "Very well. It started in this universe when Omega Armageddon started. Belial was reincarnated again at some point and attempted to use this universe as a staging ground against the Land of Light." "Many worlds were sucked up in the fighting, some even trying to fight for their own independence against Belial's forces. My world was one of them. Planet Shadow was rendered inhospitable because of Belial's actions. I lost good soldiers during the fighting." "Things came to a head on this very planet. The universe itself was almost destroyed, but somehow the Ultramen prevented the worst of it and managed to restore the Universe to a stable state after the destruction of Crisis Impact. We don't know what happened, but something caused the very fabric of the universe to unravel. What we do know is that it was caused by Belial. For this planet to be the epicenter of the destruction, and still be a livable planet..." Zenna doesn't shrug or show any outward emotion, "Well, only a miracle could have done it. Perhaps Ultraman Zero would know more. He is in this world now, it seems." "As for what I think... I hold the opinion that Belial is a dangerous threat to not only this Universe, but all Universes that exist. Should he even be successful with whatever revenge he wants against the Land of Light, who's to say he'd stop there? If it were up to me, he needs to be destroyed by any means necessary. Though it's also been proven that it doesn't stop him for long. He's been brought back many times." |
| Dysnomia | Dysnomia leans forward. "I see..." She drums her fingers on the tabletop. "Some of the pieces are lining up." "Did you know, powerful gravity distortions, and near light speed, time moves at a difference pace. It's called time dilation." Dysnomia takes a measure of this Zenna's mind. His mannerisms seemed near robotic. "Perhaps, before you unified, the time differential between your world and the rest of the multiverse was...Skewed." "Around two years ago," she breathed. "From my perspsective, Ultraman Belial was little different from most other Ultramen. He took a host on an iteration of terra-earth-for the purpose of fighting off giant monsters, in pursuit of defending the world from the forces of being called Reiblood." For a moment, she weighs whether to share more. Then..."At first, this won't seem relevant. Bear with me." "Reiblood was a great foe that threatened his home universe, if memory serves. He was defeated, but lived on as a sort of...Psychic presence. He would imbue monsters, and people with a distilation of his strength, and make them fight each other, and everyone around them. His philopshy was..." "'Only the strongest deserves to survive.'" She lets that sit in the air. "After a battle with Reiblood's last beast, when Belial was expelled from his host, and desperate, Reiblood approached Belial, and offered him power. But..." She sighs, "he wasn't prepared for what happened next." "Belial consumed every last trace of Reiblood's influence, and crushed the alien's mind." She breathes out, a thin purple mist that smells of ozone coming from her nose. "Questions so far." |
| Riku Asakura | Zenna keeps his exterior appearance up perfectly. The longer this goes on, the more likely it is that it wasn't some sort of show, but really how the alien truly acted. It seems aliens like him don't convey emotions the same way that other species do. "Yes, I'm aware of these theories of time dilation. It's also possible that time works differently in other universes before unification with the Multiverse," He agrees with this on an academic level. This was the second time he heard the name Reiblood. He remained patient as Dysnomia continued her story about when she met and worked with Belial. 'Only the strongest deserves to survive.' "That is not an unknown philosophy to me; some of the more aggressive species in the galaxy cling to this as some way of life. Many of them turned to aid Belial during the conflict. What is explained next causes him to take pause. This would be the creation of who he knows as Ultraman Belial. Reiblood was crushed by Belial's mind, and in some sort of sick turnabout, his own philosophy was destroyed. "I have one question. Is this when he started turning into the creature of darkness we know today? The monster that devastated this Universe?" Despite his cold tone, there was an edge to it. Zenna had a personal stake in what happened to Belial. |
| Dysnomia | "I have one question. Is this when he started turning into the creature of darkness we know today? The monster that devastated this Universe?" "That's a difficult question." She studied the expressionless contours of Zenna's face. "It may be what gave him the power to do what he did. What eroded his inhibitions. But...It's possible that, in a way, it started long before. And it wasn't what gave him his motive." "...Those Capsules. They're technology, taken from the Land of Light. Before he consumed Reiblood, before I ever met him, he stole them." A tilt to the side, as she plucked, briefly, at her jumpsuit, looking down into her splayed fingers. "...The ability to trap creatures, and use them as a source of power. He disagreed with the Land of Light, on how it should be used. He thought...'This would be worth it, to defeat Reiblood once and for all.'" "They're living beings all in their own way. With their own places. Sometimes, natural habitats. He kept them all. The Land of Light--and Ultraman Zero, in particular--found this unacceptable. The last I'd heard, Zero was on his way to Confront Belial...And then nothing." She crossed her arms, at that, considering whether to bring up Riku...But, no. "Let me tell you what I think happened. They fought. The Land of Light condemned him, maybe even destroyed him. And somehow, what was left of him came to be in your universe." "And then, he used your universe as a staging ground for his revenge against the Land of Light." |
| Riku Asakura | Zenna listens to Dysnomia's story about Belial. Hearing that he had a disagreement with the Land of Light from the beginning is enlightening. Hearing more about the source of his power and the birth of the current version of Belial was enlightening as well. "He stole them? Hmm..." This might have been what started the spark of hatred in his heart against the Land of Light. "I guess the Reiblood was a terrible force of evil where he was from... but now he embodies that darkness. Truly an ironic fate." Her theory on what happened is noted by Zenna. They do not know for sure. "Again, something we could perhaps get out of Ultraman Zero someday. He would know for certain what happened," Though he does not rule anything out so far. "This brings up another matter. Ultraman Geed. If he is the heir of Belial, then it would be prudent to be concerned with his goals in this world. What do you know of Geed? Does he harbor similar desires for power like his father? Has he revealed any goals to you about his operations in the Multiverse?" |
| Dysnomia | "Truly an ironic fate." "And to people who never knew the name of, and were never threatened by what he vanquished. Who can say how long he's been here, from his perspective. Decades? Centuries? Milennia?" She fell into melancholy, for a moment. She'd considered him...If not a friend, then at least someone she understood. "He's forgotten what he gathered power for, in the first place." "What do you know of Geed? Does he harbor similar desires for power like his father?" "I know very little." She props her up her fist against her cheek. "From what I've seen, he seems a good-two-shoes to an absurd degree. But, we've barely met. At the very least, I doubt he means the world harm." "Of course," she said, "Neither did Belial at first, I suppose." She hadn't expected them to know that Geed was his son....Well. Maybe they knew about Geed, but not Riku? "I think..." Dysnomia's thoughts went to what she read from Alien Sturm. It gave her pause. "...I would be less concerned with Geed's plans for the world. And more with Belial's plans for Geed. Reiblood was obssessed with creating a heir, at the end. And..." "I suppose he got it. He'd be boundlessly proud of Belial." A sigh. "You've reviewed Flamel's tape, so you know, Belial was pleased with 'his boy.' I don't think that Geed is working WITH Belial, but doesn't that doesn't mean that he isn't being led by the nose." |
| Riku Asakura | Zenna knew that Belial was a problem, and one that he might not be able to solve even with the help of the AIB. Who knows if the Ultramen were going to be there if he were to show up again? On the other hand, they have little idea of what he plans on doing, only that it involves certain people on Earth. 'Neither did Belial at first, I suppose.' Zenna thinks about this for a period of time. It wasn't about what he wanted to say, but what facts were before him. "Geed has been shown to protect the citizens of this city repeatedly, even at great risk to himself. He even seems to be working with Ultraman Zero. If Geed was in on the plan, I doubt Zero would be working with him." "So it is likely, as you say, that he is being led by the nose, and with Fukuide leading those operations on Earth..." Zenna also nods about the tape. "Yes, we got information out of that. We know little about these 'Ultracapsules', other than what you said today about them being able to capture monsters. If Geed is using them, then... it seems to be connected with another phenomenon that is happening." "We do not know why, but people sometimes develop strange powers. When these powers become strong enough, monsters have been noted to go after these people. In the first dangerous appearance of the red-horned beast, there was a little girl who could create fire with her hands." "A boy who could create forcefields. We ran into an alien who could create a blade of light, and another alien animal that could heal others. The name given to these people is 'Little Stars'. However, after Ultraman Geed saved them from the various monster attacks, they seemed to have lost this power. Perhaps these capsules could take in other sources of power." "I know it is not much to go on, but between what we heard of their conversation, two capsules are left remaining. Which means two little stars are out there right now. We do not know where or who they are yet, though." |
| Dysnomia | "Which means two little stars are out there right now." "If so, then..." Dysnomia tilted her head. "I'd imagine that he is using Geed to gather capsules of power in one place. Once he's ready, I imagine that he'd try to steal them. Take the power from Geed and claim it for himself." "That sounds right. Let Geed do the work. And sweep in and claim the fruits of it." She frowned. "...Belial really is devouring any kind of power in his reach he can hold onto." "...It's a shame. I thought..." She looked away. "He really did crush Reiblood utterly, you know." Dysnomia let a hand rest over her eyes. "He had control. Maybe it pushed him, but...He'd need to let himself be pushed." "I think, it's as simple as...when the time came, and he had to pick between power and protecting who he swore to protect, he picked power." Then, her hand fell down, closing into a fist, in a gently thump on the table. "--Which is why I think, he won't let any of this power stay away from him for long. It won't be enough, not until he takes all of it for himself. To 'protect people,' to 'take vengeance,' or just to 'have it.'" "Maybe all his causes are just an excuse, to take what he's always wanted." |
| Riku Asakura | Zenna could only nod to the reality that was before them. Even with this knowledge, there wasn't a lot they could really /do/. AIB, as an organization, couldn't handle monster attacks; it was beyond their scope. The Little Stars were less so. Even then, they hadn't done enough research on any hosts to be able to even hide them effectively. "I think we are beyond his 'protecting' people. Belial wants his revenge, and I fear it will come at any cost. The people of this planet, this universe, he's shown he'll do anything to get what he wants. Right now, it appears to be these capsules and the power of the Little Stars." "Though perhaps there is another answer to this question. Perhaps Reiblood was more absorbed into his subconscious than he thought. Instead of one overtaking the other, they mixed like milk and coffee. Belial may be the coffee in this instance, but it is still influenced by the milk." "Though perhaps you are right in the other direction, that it is an excuse. Whatever the reason, we need to be ready for whatever Fukuide plans on with the capsules and Belial's inevitable return. For that, we're going to need people from the Multiverse to help battle him, if the Ultramen aren't going to be reliable." |
| Dysnomia | "Perhaps Reiblood was more absorbed into his subconscious than he thought." Could that be true...? Maybe it would explain the creation of new monsters under his control. And his strange pride in his son...Had he inherited Reiblood's fixation with creating a worthy 'heir?' It wasn't a thought she'd lead Zenna too by the hand, if he hadn't come up with it already. "You might be right." If that was true, then Riku might have been in more trouble than he realized. Even if Zenna was wrong about Riku entirely. Men could never stand watching a child grow up into something outside their plans. "Well." She pushes to her feet. "My frequency remains open, Zenna." She turned to leave. "I hope this gave you some answers." A pause. She looked back over her shoulder. "...And closure." |
