My Bloody Valentine Ft. Mordekaiser
Date of Scene: 29 March 2015
Location: The Citadel - Field of Trials
Synopsis: Yari enacts brutal, heartbreaking training with Yari. Mordekaiser 'helps'.
Cast of Characters: 691, Sanary Rondel, 738

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Yari has called her dear friend-slash-girlfriend-slash-healerbro to the Field of Trials! And /not/ in her usual warm way. Indeed, Yari seems horrifically troubled by her nearly depressed words over the radio.

The sleek grey of the field she's summoned up likely doesn't help. On one side there's a bed or two, and far too many healing supplies. The rest is just cold metal. The lizard-ninja sits with her legs crossed meditating, sword laid out in front of her as she wears a simple, unadorned white kimono. Silence reigns, the atmosphere one mixed with foreboding, frustration, and even sadness.

Yari Takane is /not/ doing well, and when Sanary eventually enters, apprehension fills her.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Entering the Field, Sanary has a rather worried look on her face as she scans the area for Yari's presence. The layout of the field for today's session isn't what she's used to, and she eyes the excessive amount of healing supplies for a moment before turning to the Au Ra.

"Uh. Hey, Yari. Did something happen?" There's a hint of confusion in the healer's voice as she squats nearby in stark contrast to Yari's sitting position. "You sounded kinda weird over the radio. Uh. I'm guessing we're not doing the usual training, then?"

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Yari shudders a bit, barely able to keep a facade of discipline /or/ dignity. It's a far cry from her usual ways as she finally looks into Sanary's eyes.

"Lord van Baelsar thinks that we're making each other weak. That we're threats to each other, Sanary. When you two were sparring, he...broadcast your screams to me." Her teeth grit, pain and anger lurking in her eyes. With anyone else, she'd never show such a depth of emotion.

"I almost lost it. I couldn't stand the thought of you being hurt. He's right. As we are now? We're weak and useless. I...I want to be worthy of you, Sanary. And I'll do anything so that I can turn my love for you into a weapon. One that can defend both of us, my men, my world, my country...all of it. But it will not be easy, and it will be painful."

Then Yari looks Sanary in the eyes. "Are you...willing to do this, Sanary? It's extreme, but, we have to...become used to seeing each other in pain. And to saving each other without losing focus." It's then, still sitting, that she starts drawing her katana slowly.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
The healer furrows her brow slightly at Yari's reaction, reaching over to give her a light pat on the shoulder. "Easy now. Hmm.. So he did, eh?" A look of uncertainty crosses the girl's face at the explanation of what Gaius had done, although she doesn't look particularly angry or saddened by it. Rather, she looks more like she's not entirely sure how to visibly react to the news.

"That's... Hrm. I guess I kinda get what he's trying to do. Not a bad idea, actually..." She grunts lightly as she crosses her arms, straightening up slightly in her squat as Yari makes eye contact. The healer has that light sheen to her eye today, indicating that she's actually using the thing for once.

"Of course I am. We've gotta get stronger however we can. Then we can take whatever we want, protect each other, protect everyone else we don't hate." There's a very brief snicker at that followed by a slow nod as her attention shifts towards the katana.

"What's the.. Uh. What's the plan, then?"

Mordekaiser (738) has posed:
Two women may be sparring for their love, so that their hearts may become stronger and ready for war. It was noble, honorable, the things romance novels are written from, but in all novels such as these there is always a greater darkness lurking in the shadows. A greater thing to overcome then what either may be prepared for. Thankfully this dark being was with the Confederacy and is perhaps the /only/ reason it has access into the Citadel.

As the two make themselves ready for battle or at least become ready to do whatever it is they have planned, a heavy step can be heard from the shadows outside the training room. Each step is of equal measure and each step heavy. There is a metallic movement to it, like that of heavy armor being moved, and with each step it comes closer. Each step becomes ever more pronounced.

It would not be long till the figure of these steps can be seen. A being of living armor, with crimson red glowing eyes within the pitch blackness of the shadow of his helm. Eyes that seem to float without an attachment to a face. The armored figure standing eight feet tall and spikes over his knuckle, shoulders, and a crown set of metal horns on his helm.

This armored figure stares at them both, staring deeply at them and the sense of his presence is almost one of dread and death. The air slowly becoming colder by the chill of something unholy about him. His red gaze moves from Sanary, then slowly to Yari. There is no words spoken from the figure, just a long, cold, dead stare.

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Slowly, Sanary manages to bring the depressed lizard-woman slightly out of her funk. All of that pain and suffering eases for a moment. She /understands/.

"He's...a difficult man to figure out. But he's strong."

A small nod. That eye turns on, and the woman tenses.

"Even an Eikon won't stop us. And this is just the first step." States Yari, voice regaining that disciplined edge. She breathes slowly, calming herself, finding her center as her mind flashes the vision of the same woman right in front of her.

"We're going to get used to each other's pain and suffering. We're going to inflict it. Struggle with each other. And then save each other until we know in our very bones that if we're together, we're safe. If we're apart? Then we have to trust in each other's strength and that of our allies to keep us alive."

Then in a flash, she puts the tip of her blade into her own gut.

"I'll go first. Hrrrngh!" And then proceeds to stab herself, unable to endure the sideways cutting move she starts along her innards. Thankfully, the technology here will stop her from dieing.

But the pain doesn't go away. She screams as it's finally too much, and she falls as she begins to bleed from the mortal wound.

The suffering and screaming might be a sweet symphony to Yari, who looks towards Mordekaiser at the last instant. Her eyes narrow suspiciously, only to widen in pain. She clutches her wound as she lays there, moaning in pain.

"Wh...what...Eikon!?" She comes deliriously.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
"Yeah... Still got a long way to go before we can fight that well." Chuckling again, Sanary does raise an eyebrow slightly at the mention of 'Eikon', although she doesn't question whatever that is just yet. That can wait until later when there isn't a more pressing matter to deal with.

Namely, then training. She does seem to understand the Au Ra's meaning as she speaks, although the healer still flinches at the sudden self-inflicted injury. Her first instinct is to reach a hand out to Yari, visibly fighting the urge to try and heal the injury. Even with her months of practice and years of being used to seeing people injured, the fact that it's Yari doing it to herself still shakes the girl to her core.

Even the armored figure's presence doesn't phase her immediately, only turning her attention to it once Yari's speaks up again. "Nn... H-hey. You here for training, too?" Sanary does a fairly terrible job at trying to sound normal, barely even moving herself to try and keep herself from making any sudden movements towards Yari. "Think I'd rather just use a shotgun on myself than that..."

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Yari, with her vision blurring, can't help but shoot a look of sympathy to Sanary. But then her gaze hardens, the light slowly going out of her eyes as she quite literally begins perishing before the other woman.

"Difficult...but...endure it Sanary. Let...*coughhack*...me help."

Unfortunately for Sanary, that 'help' comes in the form of Yari grasping her katana, and with a mental scream of anguish, tosses it right at Sanary to be aimed perilously at the throat. Then she just collapses forward, every ounce of energy she has concentrating on staying awake, and watching her dearest friend and lover. One she just tried to kill. She can't quite keep tears out of her eyes, guilt and pain tearing at her heart. Only the knowledge that they'll both live even if they die allows her to keep her sanity.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Sanary clenches her jaw tightly as she watches Yari dying slowly, only barely managing to restrain herself from doing anything with the knowledge that the Field has its ways of keeping them from actually dying. Still, it's excruciating just squatting there and watching her, her knuckles turning white while her fingers dig into her knees.

The offer of help draws a strained and confused grunt from the girl, a pained yelp gurgling out of her throat at the sudden katana to the neck. Between squatting and being so focused on trying not to heal Yari, there's no chance for her to even react in time, and she stumbles back on her ass as she starts going into shock.

Twitching, blood gushing from her neck, her eye darting around to try and make sense of the situation. Even though she knows internally the entire purpose behind the training, her body is still acting mostly from a survival instinct. Taking hold of the handle, she does attempt to push the blade in just a little further to keep up with her own end of the training, but she doesn't have nearly the level of control necessary to do anything but writhe and gurgle.

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Yari scratches at her chest, claws digging into her flesh as it to try to tear out her own heart. It's actually less painful than hearing and seeing Sanary die by her own hand. By now she's actively weeping and sobbing, the pure emotional anguish long since numbing her to the physical pain of dieing. Blood drips from her self-inflicted wounds, and as her vision finally goes black, she lingers on.

Its pure darkness, all suffering and self-loathing, and that gurgling sound from Sanary's throat. Finally, after some time, there's blessed blackness.

When the two awaken, they're on beds beside one another. The wounds are gone, but the pain...by Yari's perhaps masochistic desire for the training...remains. Yari sits up with a shout and a cry, only to look to Sanary. She reaches out to grab the woman's hand...and with visible anguish, stops herself.

Her sword is right by the bed.

She offers it over handle-first to Sanary, before sitting up. She's defenseless like this, tears in her eyes, and love shining through in them.

"I love you, Sanary." She says, voice all pain and agony, slowly being reinforced by her heart and discipline alike.

"If I knew another way, I..." She gulps, and her gaze hardens.

"But we can become strong. I know it. I believe in you, and I believe in my training. We just...need to shield our hearts even as we entwine them. Do it. Kill me, Sanary. Even if we do this for an eternity, I could never hate you. No matter what, Sanary."

Mordekaiser (738) has posed:
As the armored figure watched the two stab one another and scream in pain, he could not help feel some deep great glee from this horrible display. How they bled, screamed, and cling onto one another with their last breaths. It was such a blissful sight in the eyes of the Metal Wraith.

Though when Yari called him an Eikon and Sanary was confused, he could only deeply chuckle at these words and how much Yari expressed her love. It would not be to much longer that the figure Yari maybe hoped was a mirage of her pain started to /clap/ those metal hands together. They rang of metal with each impact, including as the dark chuckle escaped from him.

"Who would have thought," He says as he goes to step forward with his hands coming out, "That the Confederacy could bring about such a succulent, delightful display of suffering." Those red eyes slowly start to narrow as he takes another step. "You even try to hide your fears for a thing such as.... heh heh... love. I am most... moved... by your theatrical display of emotional turmoil."

Sanary Rondel has posed:
As the blood continues draining from around the blade stuck in her neck, Sanary's thrashing eventually stops as she starts to come to terms with her impending (albeit temporary) death. Turning her head slightly to watch Yari, she's oddly peaceful despite the sheer madness of it all. Seeing each other other injured so badly to get used to the emotional impact instead of just the physical pain, getting injured themselves to get used to physical pain just in case...

It's actually rather enlightening. And painful. Very, very painful. The healer's arms reach out briefly as she starts to thrash about as the pain sets back in, then go limp once the darkness sets in.

And then she's awake with Yari again. Sanary looks over slowly at the sound from her partner, the sheen returning to her eye briefly as she stares at the sword offered to her. "L... Love you, too, Yari." She chokes on her words slightly as she says that, taking the offered blade and trembling at the notion of having to repeat the process from the other side this time around.

"Just gotta think of this as training. Nothing personal in it, just training and..." She trails off at hearing the armored figure speaking, narrowing her eye at him as she turns to face him. "Are you... Getting off on this?" She makes little effort to hide a look of disgust, stepping back slightly before touching the tip of the katana to her gut.

"We're not doing this for entertainment. This is training. And... Nngh. Do I just jam this in? 'cause a shotgun would probably be easier than-" She cuts herself off as she breaks the skin and stops, having quite a bit of trouble with the self-inflicted wound part of the training.

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
"Training, Sanary." Comes Yari reassuringly. And a little scared. But this time, she bears the pain slightly better, forcing herself to look straight at Sanary. Her resolve wavers for a moment as Sanary chokes at those words, and her clawed digits clench at the bed.

It's mostly painful. Then Morde speaks up again, nearly forgotten. At first, yari is utterly silent, glaring down at the metal-based being.

He's clapping. Slowly, Yari stands. Pure rage of a type she's never felt in her life grows in her, as if this being was pecking at the resolve and strength the two are showing.

It pisses her off. Yari Takane is not used to being pissed off.

"...Who are you, and why are you interrupting? You..." It's all too much. With ninja-speed hampered by her recent self-inflicted injury, she rushes forward with a kick aimed at that helmeted, too-red eyed head!

"DISRESPECTFUL BASTARD!" She roars out, surprising herself with the depths of her fury. Pain and hate that's utterly fueled by action and her own thoughts of Morde being an Eikon has her striking furiously, if not entirely up to her usual standards of accuracy.

Mordekaiser (738) has posed:
"Getting off...?" The armored figure repeats before an slightly more dark chuckle escapes from him. "Such terms are for the /living/, I am /far/ removed from such.... sentimental... primitive... displays." He then crosses his arms over his chest, those eyes seeming to remained narrow. "I just find great satisfaction in pain and suffering, as it is the true clarity within all emotions."

The unholy cold air does not go away, instead it continues to creep into the room. His demeanor does not change in the slightest and he does not seemly over concerned about the two women either. Though he does tilt his head as Sanary tries to jab the sword into her skin, but his attention is pulled from such a gruesome display as Yari lets her own displeasure be known in violence.

Her kick is swift and lands directly as it should. It is a hard impact with the monster's metal helm, there is even a slight crack, but the crack heals just as quickly as it is formed. "Heh heh... Hah hah!" Is the only response Yari gets as her foot goes to move away, because while Mordekaiser is not lightning fast his hand was already on the move. The eight foot armored Wraith goes to grab her by her arm and then toss her aside like a sack of useless potatoes.

As for Sanary, unless she has moved the sword away, his gaze turns back to her. "Let me... help you with that." He says with a twisted expression in those dark words. With a slight motion of his hand as it almost glows with a ghostly blue, it seems to go to manipulate the metal of the very sword so that it sinks into her body, if not directly through the other side...

Sanary Rondel has posed:
"So you're not...? Okay. That's... Better, then." The healer does seem just slightly relieved at that revelation from Mordekaiser, overriding the uneasy feeling from his presence simply from the fact that he wasn't deriving /that/ kind of pleasure from their training.

"Right. It's... It's just training. We can do this. We ca-uh." Sanary goes quiet as Yari flies into a rage, actually shocked to the point of being unable to quip about anything. She hasn't seen the Au Ra this angry before, and she's not even sure if she should do anything about the situation.

Her first instinct, of course, is to want to follow up behind Yari to add a second layer to the attack. On the other hand, this /was/ supposed to be training to fight off their emotion-based instincts and trusting each other to be able to handle themselves.

Plus, there's the sword thing to deal with. She cries out sharply as the sword pierces through her gut, her hand tightening around the handle as she drops onto a knee. The healer strings together several curses in mixed anger and pain, gritting her teeth while starting to punch the ground just to distract herself with pain elsewhere.

"Frghnshittyass... Dammit this sucks!" Shaking violently as she drops onto her side, she glares at the armored figure before nodding slowly and raising a hand to motion for him to continue. "K-keep it going! J-just gotta tough it out, Yari! Fucking... Assballs!"

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Yari can't get much in the way of quips to Morde, as she's deftly grabbed and tossed. The ninja isn't exactly heavy, and goes flying easily, straight into a wall. Impacting with a most unhealthy crunch sound, she falls into a heap of gritted teeth and a broken arm. Her suffering lessens her anger for a moment, but it's nothing next to what she's already endured today.

But it's Sanary herself that gives Yari the strength to stand up. The woman's sword is putty in Morde's hands, and the ninjette pauses. Looking from Sanary to Morde, her resolve slowly strengthens. That chill of death reaches her...and with a deep breath, she endures. That anger remains, only adding fuel to her defiant acceptance of the circumstances. As she's equipped? She can't hurt Mordecaiser.

"...You actually have come at a good time it seems. Feh. Still too weak!" She admonishes herself, the creep of death and watching Sanary's suffering tearing at her inner most being. It's a sweet sympony of suffering.

A symphony tainted by a growing acceptance, and appreciation for the life that is Sanary Rondel. So fleeting...but precious indeed. Her eyes harden.

"Who are you? Do it. Kill her in front of me. Being able to stand in front of a superior opponent and watch my lover die...there's no greater pain than that." Her teeth grit, and pure hate is visible in her eyes.

"Finish the damn job you sadist!" Spits out Yari, using every ounce of discipline to not rush in to help Sanary. Her knees ache, eyes fill with tears, but she endures.

Morde is a cruel creature, but it all fits into her plans. Thank goodness for Sanary.

Mordekaiser (738) has posed:
Sanary asks for the Armored Figure to continue, seeming to understand that it is he who is manipulating the blade. There was a minor tilt of his head, before he moves his hand ever so slightly one way until he moves it the other. As for the sword, it drives in further before starting to slowly cut to the side. This is not the way a sword should move through the human body, but Mordekaiser does not care for if it is pain they desire.... pain he will give them. Gladly.

Though as Yari calls out to him, yells at him in fact, he then just twists the sword in Sanary, changing its cutting angle slightly. "You desire her death to strengthen your own resolve." The Armored figure says with a slight chuckle in his voice. "Then if I was to kill her swiftly, heh heh, it make your own agony so much easier."

"If it is pain you wish to master, you must be rid of fear, for fear is confusion." Mordekaiser says with a mild bit of delight in his voice. His other hand comes out as he starts to bend the metal in the area near Sanary, it can be heard groaning and creaking. Lights flicker from the sheer stress being put on the area as metal starts to bend down, reshaping itself to points directly above Sanary.

"I do enjoy... great suffering." The armored being says, before he moves his hand away. As he does so the spikes dive down from above and impact Sanary and the sword flies out and away. It spins a few times before it clatters across the ground, sliding at last right at Yari's feet.

It is when Sanary starts to choke on her own blood, does Mordekaiser rip away the metal spear bindings and they can be seen returning back into their proper positions once more. "As for who I am," His red gaze turns to Yari. "...I am the Master Of Metal, Lord and General of Shadow Isles... I am Mordekaiser. Heh heh... For it is a... pleasure... to meet you face to face... Centurion Yari Takane."

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Do Yari's words hurt more, or does the blade? On one hand, hearing the Au Ra command Mordekaiser to kill her is quite painful in itself. If it wasn't for the fact that this was all a part of their training, Sanary might have actually become depressed over it.

On the other hand, she literally had a katana going through her in the wrong direction. That's definitely a thing. The healer's gurgling incoherently in between her cries of pain, starting to thrash again while continuing to utter incomprehensible curses from all the pain racking her body. There is that sense of peace slowly coming to her as the blood starts to drain faster from the spikes, her body growing colder for the second time in today's training session.

"Rrgh... Sucks so goddamn-nngh. N-next time? Shotg-uh." And then she dies again. Still, they're making progress! Maybe. Kinda.

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Every movement of that sword seems to hurt Yari horrifically, even if it's not her own body that's currently being cut apart. This walking armored tyrant has put a kink in her plans...and one that's working brilliantly. Wrath threatens to overwhelm her, guilt swiftly following.

Yari falls to her knees as Sanary finally thrashes, and grows cold. It's all she can take, for today. She looks to Morde, pain finally overwhelming her completely.

"Wait...enough! That's enough for now!" Comes the woman desperately, shame at her own weakness following. It won't be long before the area undoes Sanary's death, and by then? She'll be sitting right beside her, sword caught up again and sheathed.

When she manages to look at Morde, she simply nods.

"Correct. We're trying to increase our resolve and strength through this kind of emotional training. But we can only take so much."

A hand will reach for Sanary's, ready to hold her close when she reawakens. Yari looks sick to her stomach already. She hates herself for it.

She straightens. "Yes, I remember now. Lord Mordekaiser. I'd like you to assist us in this training. It's going to be something we do...as much as our hearts can take. Until we are truly strong. You seem to be drawn to suffering. Any...assistance you can offer in that, would be appreciated." She offers, eyes still shining with tears as she holds her love close, for comfort, gazing down in sorrow.

Mordekaiser (738) has posed:
Mordekaiser stands there as his arms slowly go back to his side. He watches as Yari crawls to her beloved and grasps her hand, there was a minor rumble of distaste for such... emotional choices these two were showing, but he says little to it. When Yari though does ask for him to aid in this odd training of suffering and pain, he reaches up and strokes his chin, or at least what would be his chin. There is a slight metal on metal sound as he does so.

"I do not see why not, at least you two are entertaining.... for now. Though I can not promise for how long I will aid you in this delightful display of torment, perhaps until it becomes boring and repetitive." Mordekaiser admits as he gives a light shrug. "Though I do admit, this evenings has not turned out as I expected. Who would have known that the Multiverse could have such sadists among them that enjoys pain as much has I." Then the armored being chuckles, "Even if you deny that pleasure to yourselves... heh heh."

Yes, Mordekaiser is a bit... strange.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Waking up from dying for the second time in less than an hour, Sanary's looking rather drained by the time she realizes that she's even awake in the first place.

"That... Sucked. So... /So/ hard." She manages a weary chuckle while taking Yari's hand, still shaken from the experience. She flinches slightly at hearing Mordekaiser, not seeming to see him like she had earlier. There's a distinct lack of a sheen to her exposed eye this time around, and even her gaze is unfocused despite looking straight at him.

"Yeah, thanks for the help... Uh. Guy. It'll be a while before I can do that... Stabbing-and-jerking thing to myself that Yari did before. Weird power you got, by the way." Chuckling again, she seems rather content to just lay in the bed for now after the events of the past hour.

After a few moments, however, she does frown disapprovingly at him.

"And we're /not/ getting off to this. That's just... " She trails off and shudders slightly in disgust. "... Just nasty. Are you sure you're not into that... That?"

Mordekaiser (738) has posed:
Mordekaiser stand straight, his head raising up slightly, "As I told you... such emotional desires are /below/ me. Lust and love are for the living coil of trapped souls who have yet to find their way to true clarity." The Armored Figure then starts to move, before moving his cape simply to the side which barely seems to even move as he walks.

"Honestly... this whole living this is... overrated, heh heh." He then continues to make his way out, his heavy feet easily heard with each step. How much did this guy actually weigh? Though his step comes to a slow stop. He tilts his head ever so slightly, before he looks over his shoulder. "Would you care for a drink?" What?

Sanary Rondel has posed:
That confirmed the lack of... /That/ being an issue, at least. "Gotcha. Mm... Still, really sounds like you're getting... Too into it when you say it like before." Sanary actually laughs finally, even going as far as pushing herself into an upright sitting position.

For a few seconds, at least. Then she's dropping back down onto the bed to conserve energy. Moredekaiser's words give her reason to pause for a moment, a thoughtful hum escaping her moments later. "Would be convenient to be able to keep doing stuff after I die. And that... Thing you did with the metal. Definitely wouldn't hurt to learn how to do that, too."

Still, that's something to think about later on. For now, rest. Or... "Drinks? Mm... Next time. Feeling ready to ust pass out after all thi-wait. You can drink?" Giving him a puzzled 'look', she shakes her head quickly before setting her head back down with a tired snicker.

"Ah, next time. Maybe after the next training session if I'm not feeling so... Dyingg twice." That would help a lot. Not feeling dead and all.

Mordekaiser (738) has posed:
The armored figure seems to observe her behavior for a moment, maybe he is judging her, maybe he is just confused about her as she is him. Given he has no face in that black void under his helm, it is impossible to tell what the eight foot armored giant is thinking. "Very well." He says to the drink before he looks away.

He tilts his head as he goes to answer her question about being dead. "Death is /far/ superior to living and I do not know if /I/ can train you. As it is natural for me to perform, as it is for you to breath." This is when Mordekaiser starts to walk away once more. "If you ever do decide to become tired of your life, do let me know. I'll make sure you are, heh heh, /well/ taken care of on the Isles."
