Shop Talk (Kotone and Corona)

Synopsis:	Kotone and Corona hang out. They talk shop and take a tour of Corona's ship.

Corona Arclite has posed:
TRAINS. IN. SPAAAACE!

Well, one train in space. In orbit, technically. It had gotten as far as getting Corona back to Brimsteel but that was about it as the ship was long out of use and in a bit of disarray from sitting in the holding compound for so long.

At least the teleporter worked! Stepping off the small platform Corona set down the box of so marked spare parts and shoved it out of the way with her boot. Most of the wall panelling had been temporarily removed to revealing the workings underneath of the train-ship's machinery. Being the hands-on sort Corona had been working along with the AI instead of leaving everything to the auto-repairs.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa is in the space train at the moment and seems to be in a pretty chipper mood from the looks of her peering over the machineery.

"Like to know how to do it yourself in the event the auto repairs get knocked out? Good thinking honestly. Also I suggest have your Union allies check it for any backdoors from whomever made it orginally."

She's now bending over to get a closer look.

"I still wonder about what sort of life I'm starting to lead honestly..."

Corona Arclite has posed:
Corona Arclite rests her hand on a support strut as she leans over a little as well. "Yeah, I like bein' able to fix up myself when I can, so Casey's let me poke around a bit as well."

"My designation is SAIL," replied the ship's AI, almost sounding a bit huffy about it.

"Sails are a silly thing for a train operator to be named after."

"I am not certain it is any more reassuring to be renamed after someone famous for -crashing- a train."

Corona turned a bit to waggle a finger at the unseen program. "That one crash saved a good several dozen lives!" Then pulled her hat off and held it to her chest. "Just not his own, stars bless his soul... Besides, other than that one time Casey Jones was the epitome of punctuality. -That- is what I keep namin' ya for."

She plopped the hat back onto her head as she looked to Kotone again. "Eh, what's wrong with it?"

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa ahs as the story is explained to her as well.

"Just the level of casual violence is starting to make me wonder about things to be perfectly honest. I have to wonder what I'm getting into somedays."

She seems far less worried these days about what she is than who it seems.

"I'm just ... starting to wonder about some of the jobs I have fallen into to be honest."

She shrugs a bit

"When you can think beyond the rate of thought you were born with? You tend to have your mind wander."

Corona Arclite has posed:
"Hey, folks do what they gotta do. Don't feel bad about having to rough someone up. Unfortunately a good thumpin' is the only language some folks understand." The foxgirl gives the brim of her hat a tug. "And I ain't just talkin' about the so-called bad guys, either." With that said she gets down on one knee and starts digging through the box of stuff she brought. "Those were some nice bikes you had at the expo, Koto. Pity I don't think they'd last too well with how nasty Brimsteel's environment can be."

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa says "No that I mean the killing."

She looks a but put off for a moment.

"Humm I can make alterationa and don't be so shore those were street modeles if your looking for something else I could cook up something more suited to your home world if you wanted. It be nice to get to do more of that honestly. Fire and Brimsteel is the name of the game there humm upgraded from the rocks I take it?"

Corona Arclite has posed:
"Kinda why I suggested somethin' more like a four-wheeler. Two wheels ain't so good, s'why mine's a trike after a--"

She's cut off by an alarm going off and some of those red klaxxons that they got wired up flashing. "I have detected a distress call from a freighter line," the AI chimes in. "Sounds like hijacking. I am pinpointing a proper intercept point for the teleporter now."

Corona let out a sigh. "Welp. Business calls... Yeah, killin' ain't never fun," she replied as she picked up her hammer. "But sometimes ya gotta think about how many more decent folk might end up six feet under instead."

With that she hopes back into the transporter.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa humms for a moment "An ATV that's more than do able..."

She pauses for a moment at the mention of a highjackingh. Kotone sighs for a moment. She looks at her for a moment. She shuddersa bit.

"I fear ... it will become easy for me to do so."

Kotone's lost some innocent but not all of it and she almost seem to fear what might happen to her. Either way there's something else to worry about, right? So lets go."

Corona Arclite has posed:
The teleport deposits the two on top a stone arcway over the tracks. Smoke can be seen churning into the air like a stormcloud as one of Brimsteel's heavy freighter trains rumbles down the tracks. Corona glances down over the edge for a moment, then takes a few steps back. Reachs over to give Kotone's shoulder a light thump. "I hope that body of yours can handle a bit of a jump." Then with a running start she jumps off the arcway.

Boots hit the roof of one of the freight cars as the train is passing under, Corona hunkering down with the landing to grab on and situate herself before momentum bowls her off again. "Gotta get closer to the engine!"

One gets the feeling this is not the first time the vixen has had to do this with how quickly she's on her feet and sprinting down the length of cars.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa doesn't take long till she's on the strin along side Corona and she doesn't take much to get a faint smile from her. She runs and is going way faster than she should be going well if she were met not that Kotone thinks as much about that anymore. She's spedding pretty fast, the only issues with her jumps is hte force of impact after each, after all she's heiver than she looks.

Corona Arclite has posed:
It's possibly the thump thump of Kotone's steps that get attention from inside. One of the roof hatchs flies open and a stout short form pops out of it. Oddly enough he's wearing what looks more like scrap part armor than the wild west duds of the bandits Kotone's seen before. Not to mention the large steam-powered rifle he's turning on them.

"Sunnova!" Corona drops flat to the rooftop as he opens fire, barely ducking in time. She grabs a wrench off her belt and throws it hard enough to smack the bandit upside the head and knock him back down between the cars, thudding into the connector between them. "Ain't never seen these's varmints before!"

Seeing plenty of them now though as several more climb up atop the train and draw their weapons.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa is not meaning to she's still not as heavy as she could be, right? She moves still and pauses as she has ot hit the deck to avoid getting shot.

"Wait is this left overs from that gang we fought before?! Wait no, who are these guys." She keeps low wishing she's brought more hardware with her but she's just got her physical body, which is in and of itself a weapon. She now moves to get up and she's going to try to bull rush the lead one and tackle him.

Corona Arclite has posed:
"I ain't seen 'em before," Corona replies. "But gangs do kinda come and go if they can't make it." Hair whipping about as she gets partway up, stilling holding on to the roof with one hand, and uses the other to pull her shotgun from its sling. Fortunately she knows how to cock it one handed, letting it power up before swinging it into position and firing off a scatterblast that knocks several of the would be shooters off their mark when she blows the guns out of their hands. One tried to turn to save his weapon, only for his steam tank backpack to get hit instead, and the eruption sends him flying off the train like a haphazard firecracker.

But it opens a path for Kotone to rush in and plow over the one at the back. As they hit the roof the impact knocks his helmet off and she gets a look at the pudgey rodent-like face before he screechs and tries to cover it with his hands. "AAAAAAH THE LIGHT!"

Shit are they vampi.. no, wait, they're some kind of mole. Must be sensative to sunlight or something though.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa is able to tackle one of them she pause wondering about this as the light gets to him. She moves to pull his hands away from his face.

"That's enough time to face the light mole man!"

She calls out while movingto hold him. Her strength might be shocking to the mole man given her build. She'll alos move to clamp down and hold him. Hopefully Corona can handle the rest!? Kotone does have zip ties on her for mechanics work so she's going to try to /secure/ this guy if she can. Then agian she might have made a mistake given how many hostiles there are.

Corona Arclite has posed:
"It burns! Let go of me you surface heathen!" He's not going to be putting up that much of a fight after that though.

"Y'all must be new to these parts. So lets make this welcome short and sweet." Corona flips her shotgun around and uses it to club one across the face. This is why it has a reinforced stock on it! Then she grabs him and flings him into two others before they can get their guns working again.

"Abort! Abort!" Everyone save the one Kotone has pinned down scatter, just jumping off the train and diving right into the ground around the tracks to disappear beneath the surface. The last one does stop to do some appropriate fist shaking though. "Just you wait surface dwellers, your time will come soon enough!" Then moledives after the rest of his posse.

"The bloody hell, even the gophers can't take underground that quickly without drills."

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa says "Heathen? That's a new one!"

She'll move to zip tie this guy as they start to flee. She pauses for a moment as she looks at them for a moment and stares.

"That sounded like a line from a bad b movie. Did you seriously just /say/ that?!"

The Mole Men Terror from below?! She wondered if the multiverse was spawned by every crazy idea humanity had had, and those worlds spawned worlds based off the ideas they /had/.

"You sure we didn't crash a movie set?"

Corona Arclite has posed:
Corona Arclite rubs her temples for a moment. "I honestly don't know Koto. This is purdy out there even by Brimsteel standards."

She walks over and grabs the one mole man they captured and hauls him to his feet now that he's bound up. "Maybe this punk'll have some answers after he spends a bit of time in a cold cell. We can lock 'em up once the train reachs the Depot."

Kotone Yamakawa says "Sounds like a plan and maybe we can get back to working on your ship. It's odd the design style doesn't match up with any of the others we met from the flotilla's world I got to wonder about that."

Corona Arclite shrugs her shoulders a little. "Albert did say they didn't know much 'bout these Starfolk or whatever they were called and was kinda surprised to the ship there."
