Synopsis: Fassad vs Victory in the round of 32
Cast of Characters: 248, 810
Tinyplot: WMAT 2015

Victory (810) has posed:
    Welcome to the Devil's Hand!

Today, the battle within Bracket B's group of 32 continues! The first to arrive, much to the crowd's appeal, is the newcomer of the WMAT, Victory! After passing her qualifier, the digimon had time to rest and prepare while qualifiers continued. Today, it's do great or do nothing after! There's no fancy music or entry for the warrior, just confident steps that lead her to the fighting grounds. The crowd does, at least, get a friendly wave from her.

Fassad (248) has posed:
Fassad arrives at Devil's Hand much as he normally does: Riding in upon a pure white horse. He had heard his opponent was a Digimon. He knows little of these foreign creatures, but he had heard that the vast majority of them are gigantic. He is a bit surprised. While Victory is definitely taller than /most/ men, Fassad is taller upon the horseback. Of course, on his feet, he'll be significantly shorter. But no worse than were he up against a Moblin.

He smirks, remaining on his pure white horse, Excelsior. As he smirks, there is a glimmer in his teeth. Magically placed. His blonde hair flows in the wind, as does his cape. Overall, he looks much akin to the type of knights of legend that he is so fond of.

"WELL! Hello, my fair opponent, Victory! I am Prince Fassad, of the land of Arcadia! I will prove /myself/ the victor in this battle!"

Of note, Fassad doesn't even realize Victory is female.

Also of note, he has a sword in his right hand that looks exactly like the Master Sword, only miscolored. In his left, the legendary Mirror Shield.

Victory (810) has posed:
While still upon Excelsior, Victory locks eyes with her opponent, giving the man a quick glimpse from top to bottom. She was hardly familiar with the land that the man heralds himself from, nor would she be familiar with the 'Master Sword' or Mirrir Shield he weilds. She does note, though, that the shield is quite the shiny bit of equipment.

In response to his introduction, the taller digimon draws the Dramon Breaker from her back. The sword is large, even for her, but for the moment she is still holding it with a single hand. "Well met," she calls, not even dignifying his claim to victory with a response. Instead, she decides to begin the battle! One step is taken, and then the warrior rushes forward. The horizontal slash she takes is clearly meant more for dismounting the man from his horse rather than doing actual damage to the rider.

Fassad (248) has posed:
The slash comes in. Fassad lifts his sword to parry, but he is a second too late. The blade strikes him, and he is knocked off of his horse. Falling, and landing on his back on the ground. He sighs. He is far too used to opponents having some trouble with him fighting on horseback, as opposed to them simply knocking him off so easily. It helps that Victory is so tall, he supposes.

Of course, as he is laying on his back, just before he is ready to attack. He blinks a bit.

     "...You're a female?"

This doesn't shock him for too long. He pushes himself up, landing on his feet. Smiling at Victory. He points his sword forward, while keeping his shield in front of him. His horse, Excelsior, runs behind him.

"Well! I apologize for fighting a woman as lovely as yourself, but I will still triumph in this battle!" No, reptiles are not his thing. But, he feels best being more polite to women.

And suddenly, from his sword: A bursting beam of light, flying straight for Victory. it is aimed towards the center of her mass. And then, Fassad stats to climb back /onto/ his horse, while Victory is hopefully trying to deal with the attack and failing.

Victory (810) has posed:
What Victory did not expect was a blast from the fighter's sword. When it sails for her chest, it finds littl resistance. When it strikes Victory in the chest it causes her to stagger back, a look of surprise visible even with the helmet she wears. "Unexpected..."

Due to the attack, she doesn't reply further to the man's banter. Instead she collects herself, sees that he's mounting Excelsior again, and decides she'll have to repeat her previous assault! It's true, that thanks to her height, dealing with someone on horseback is a bit easier, however, will she be able to dismount the man again? The slash that she makes at him, once she draws near, is a diagonal slash, going from the ground upward at both the mount, and then the rider.

Fassad (248) has posed:
"The same trick again?" Fassad's smirk is fully back. As the blade comes in, he pulls up his shield, finally mounting Excelsior. The force from the slash has at least hurt Fassad, pushing his shoulder in a bit and causing some pain. But, he is on Excelsior again. A kick of the feet, and Excelsior is off, and running. Trying to circle around Victory. The height... Yes. That's an advantage. Another advantage has been realized, though. Victory is surprised by the ranged attack, and went in for another melee attack.

Is Victory a close range fighter, only?

He sheaths his sword, Excelsior now circling Victory. Fassad reaches into a brown leather bag on his side. A round object, an almost cartoony looking bomb, is pulled out. A flicker of magic from Fassad lights it, and it is immediately tossed towards Victory. Even if cut at, it'll likely explode.

"I respect any fighter who knows how to use the blade! Truly, you are a worthy opponent."

Victory (810) has posed:
The mounted fighter will have to fight further to find out what kind of warrior Victory is. "At least you realize it!" Victory calls, finally engaging in the man's banter on some level. She doesn't speak further, however, as a bomb is lit and thrown her way. The Dramon Breaker, her large sword, is turned to try and swat it away with the flat of her blade, but it still explodes near her, sending her off her feet and to the ground with a THUD.

A moment later, however, she's on her feet again, however, Fassad will now bare witness to how diverse this fighter can be. The massive blade she wields is split into two! One of the blades is set against her back. The second is actually affixed to one of her bracers. Why? Well, the ominous orange glow that lights up along the blade is a precursor to the blast of energy that soars off of it. A number of these blasts begin to fly as Victory tries to hit the man and his mount! Melee only? It would seem not.

Fassad (248) has posed:
Fassad would swear, if he were not so pinrcely. The massive orange glow strikes into him and his steed. Exceslior and Fassad are both down, with burn injuries. Excelsior will need some time to get up. Fassad manages to push himself up, albeit looking a bit winded.

"...Well. I will have to make more use of my shield, it seems."

Why exactly the shield would have helped against that, who knows. Despite his comment, he pulls his sword out again as well. And, he rushes forward. His shield is lifted up, looking straight at Victory. His sword is held back. He makes a /wide/ spinning slash, aiming directly at Victory. This spinning slash goes wide, making Fassad step in a full circle as he brings it in.

And then he stands at the ready, with his shield in front of him. He hopes he proves fast enough, and that Victory doesn't remain as on her toes as Fassad has seen her to be.

Victory (810) has posed:
Blasts strike, Victory is satisfied, and the Dramon Breaker is quickly reassembled into its original form. "That would be wise," Victory comments as she places both hands to her blade. If her opponent had decided get a little more serious, she would do the same!

The spinning slash wasn't very expected. She makes a move to place the Breaker in the way, however, the man's assault breaks through her defense allowing the blade to catch against her armorless leg, prompting a loud wince and a spray of pixels? Digicode? It's certainly not blood, it seems.

At least, with the man close to her, she would have no trouble bringing her sword against him. The challenge of this Mirror Shield in front of her is tempting, but she has fought a number of opponents over the years. As a result, the digimon feints a horizontal slash, pulls back, but continues to spin about, allowing her tail to come around to attempt to sweep Fassad to break his defense!

Fassad (248) has posed:
As the leg strike comes in, Fassad trips over the tail, falling to his back. It's a situation he has been in far too often in this battle, stuck on the ground. He lifts the sword, pointing it again towards Victory.

This would be a good spot to use a feint. But, Fassad feels a need to be straightforward. He keeps the sword pointed at Victory, smiling. "At least, it is quite good to be facing an strong opponent such as yourself!"

And then, a burst of light from Fassad's sword. Another sword beam fired towards her.

Victory (810) has posed:
Again with the beam. Again something Victory didn't expect. In truth, she had been struck by the blast once, why not expect it? And how did he use the sword beam without full health anyway?! Ahem. Anyway. The blast leaves its mark on the digimon's armor, again sending her staggering back. A grunt of frustration slips from Victory, "I would expect it from anyone that passed the qualification round!"

Recovered from the blast, Victory strides forward. Feint? No. An attempt to be overpowering? Yes. The Dramon Breaker is lifted high and brought down toward Fassad, and then she repeats the process again and again, trying to make a point. She will overpower her opponent if she needs to!

Fassad (248) has posed:
Fassad lifts his shield, the only thing keeping him from being utterly destroyed by the sword. Even with his powerful shield, he is pushed into the ground. His arm sore from the effort, some of the strikes hitting him dead on. And yet, he still remains smiling. After all, people throughout the Multiverse are noticing his heroic battle! Even if he loses, he still gets a chance to shine and be a hero to countless people.

And, he is now glowing with a bright light.

"WELL! It's time to show you why people across the Multiverse call me the HERO OF LIGHT!"

Note: No one actually calls him that.

But, he is suddenly covered in a magical light. It is nothing all that special, simply Light elemental magic. Very similar to Holy elemental. His entire body glows with it. Suddenly, various beams burst off of him. They arch through the air, filling much of the battlefield. Before they all turn back, aimed right at Victory.

     "BARRAGE OF LIGHT!"

Victory (810) has posed:
Well, if the Sword Beam was unexpected, the Barrage of Light from Fassad is on a whole new level. As the beams go soaring off, the digimon blinks once, snarls, and braces for what she is sure is about to come. When the blasts rain from the heavens, she tries to block what she can with the Breaker, but it's horribly ineffective. She's swallowed by the torrent of shots, a roar ringing out, a cloud of smoke rising from the ground, and then the crowds both at the Devil's hand and around the multiverse are left in suspense. Was that the end?!

The smoke clears and Victory can be seen. She's on one knee, the Breaker jammed into the ground, with both her hands held to the weapon, breathing hard. A close eye will see that her chest armor has fallen to the ground leaving a light cloth wrapping visible across her upper torso. "Well done," she states, not even sure that Fassad could hear it. "But.. I'm not done yet," she continues before rising once again. The crowd roars, the fight continues, and Victory splits the Dramon Breaker and takes a single blade into each hand.

Another moment passes and Victory surges forward. With two weapons to bring against Fassad, the warrior turns into a whirling frenzy that uses both her blades, her tail, and she even throws a kick in for good measure at the end!

Fassad (248) has posed:
Fassad has a reputation. He's a bit of an egotistical narcissist. A bit of a fool, in ways. A man who takes himself too seriously. But, despite this, he can still shine in combat.

As the strikes come in, he quickly gets back to his feet. His shield is lifted, blocking some. His sword swings, hitting away the incoming strikes. A few of the hits aren't blocked, and yet his agile movements and footwork prevent all but a few grazing hits. Sure, the slashes are causing bits of blood to leak out of him. But, it could have been far worse.

As the kick comes in, Fassad takes that moment to strike. His shield is lifted to block it, spotting the footwork. That is the problem with kicks. They are incredibly easy to see coming. He immediately lifts his sword, and swings it straight down at Victory's leg.

     "HAVE AT THEE!"

Victory (810) has posed:
The reputation that Victory may have is that of a bounty hunter, monster slayer, and mercenary. Not the most reputable thing, but she has been able to take down creatures of all kinds in the past! Today, however, Fassad is no mere ceature, but a strong opponent that deserves to be a part of the World Martial Arts Tournament! Today, however, Victory was hoping to prove herself just a little bit better.

The man sees the kick coming, the sword comes for her exposed leg, and a quick and awkward twist of her form puts more armor than flesh in the way of the blade. She pulls back, but the sword's mark is made as her lower leg guard falls away, leaving more of the digimon unprotected. It prompts another growl, "I'm going to be making repairs for days," she snarls before combining the Dramon Breaker again. Clearly agility was not going to be her strong suit today.

When her next attack comes, it comes with both hands on the blade and a lot of effort put behind it. A brutal swing made with the flat of her blade, looking to -hurl- Fassad away and to the ground (AGAIN) to give her a much needed breather to colect her thoughts.

Fassad (248) has posed:
As this swat comes in, Fasasd is caught off guard. He's having to use everything he has to keep up, as is. He's slammed into the ground, a small crater forming around him. He looks up. Frowning. Once again, he is, in fact, on the ground. A slight sigh.

But, he'll use the breathing room, too. His sword has fallen a few feet from him. He reaches to the bombs in his bag, and tosses one at Victory. Then another. And another.

"I only use these bombs against the strongest opponents! Be proud of my use of them against you! They're /quite/ expensive!"

Victory (810) has posed:
That's a lot of bombs. It leads to a lot of explosions! The cacophony of all the explosions hides away another pained roar from Victory, the smoke cloud once again hiding her form as all the damage is done. Similar to Fassad, when the smoke clears, it leaves the digimon in a crater of craters, on her back, breaths heaving once again. This was a -fight- she was enjoying, and the smile on her face, despite the pain, was proof of her appreciation for it. "Well," she calls, starting to slowly rise with the use of the sword, "My armor is expensive to repair, so, we'll be even in the end!" she calls, making sure she's heard.

Once on her feet, and with the distance between them, Victory decides closing in isn't a great idea. The Breaker is split, both blades are attached to her bracers, and this time she unleashes a barrage of plasma blasts from her blades.

Fassad (248) has posed:
Normally, Fassad would lift his shield, to block the burst. The shield has a special power to it. Reflecting Magic and Energy back at the enemy. But, due to being stuck somewhat in the ground, and being too distracted throwing bombs? He can't lift it in time.

And now he is pushed even further pushed into the ground. And, quite glad the terrain he is stuck in is more /rocky/ rather than dirty. Pure luck, really.

Of course, he doesn't have much options right now. He's /still/ stuck in the ground. But, he has /one/ surprise up his sleeves.

     "EXCELSIOR!"

And suddenly, his horse starts running, full force, at Victory. It lifts its hooves, trying to stomp down on Victory. And, trying to stop down /hard/. It is a particularly well trained horse, it seems.

Victory (810) has posed:
Suddenly, HORSE! Victory KNEW there was a reason she didn't like the creature, and now it is proven as it comes to the aid of its owner. Hooves reach out, strike, trample, and do their damage on the, now, unarmored torso of Victory. "Get off!" she snarls, out, losing her composure for a moment, swatting at the beast with an empty hand in an effort to get Excelsior away from her.

After a few more moments, the digimon scrambles away from the angry mount, sword at her back, as she tries to wrap around to get back to Fassad again. Her sword isn't out, instead, she's only looking to get to, pick up, and slam Fassad into the ground!

Fassad (248) has posed:
Fassad is picked up, and slammed into the ground. /Again/. Luckily, the crater is a bit smaller this time. But, he is all the more bloodied. Skull cracked just a bit, some bones probably broken. Sure, WMAT is friendly. But it can still be absolutely rough on the body.

Fassad just lays on the ground. Again. At a loss for what to do. Slwoly, he gets to his feet. Struggling. Sword, still dropped to the side. Too far out of reach. All that is left is his handy shield. The Mirror Shield.

     His last hope.

His shield starts to glow. He has began to gather light within it. He holds it, angled to the sun. In fact, he's actually trying to cause the light of the sun to reflect, straight into Victory's eyes.

And then, he rushes forward. Shield bashing. Filled with all of the Light elemental magic he still has within him. He prays to the Golden Goddesses that this strike will hit true.

Victory (810) has posed:
Still somewhat winded from the rest of the battle, Victory stands over Fassad, allowing him to rise. Perhaps this wasn't the best thing to do in such a tough competition, but, she does it none the less. She was, if nothing else, a good sport! When the shield is raised, she takes a step back. She was expecting a barrage of light like before. When, instead, Fassad uses the shield to reflect the sun into her eyes, she's caught off guard. A yelp of surprise slips from her, stunned and blinded!

The blast strikes true, as prayed for from Fassad. The digimon -soars- through the air before coming down in a heap with a loud crash. An explosion of dust rises, the sound of Victory's armor clattering to the ground can be heard, hinting at the fact she is standing. When it clears, her armor is gone, leaving only the white-scaled saurian that was underneath. She's battered. She's brusied. There are bits of code wafting off of her, but she isn't done. She refuses to fall! "No... Not... Yet.."

On second glance, there's still a little armor left on Victory, her bracers. With what little strength she has left, the Dramon Breaker is split, the blades are connected, and the digimon lifts her hands to the sky. The gleam of energy surging into the blades is clear to anyone near by. The crackle of electricity up and down each edge can be heard as well as seen. After another moment, her arms come down, the blast is set free, and a single brilliant pillar of energy erupts from them, combining into a single blast as it rips across the field, scattering stones and dust in its wake, as it looks to slam into Fassad, Mirror Shield or not. Is it enough?!

Fassad (248) has posed:
The blast comes in. Some of it is blocked by the Mirror Shield, sent back towards Victory. But, it is not enough. The plasma beam is far too large. And so, Fassad is engulfed completely. He falls forward, flat on his face. Head resting upon the ground. Unconcious.

     Defeated.

His horse just kind of sits around watching for now. Waiting for him to be carted off to be fixed up.

Victory (810) has posed:
Once the blast is sent, Victory drops to a knee, ending up on both hands and knees as she tries to get a bit of strength back into her anything. The crowd goes utterly wild. With a bit of effort she removes the blades, moves over to Fassad, then waves for medical to move in. It was too good a fight to allow this man to end up having a fate worse than defeat. "Make sure you take care of the horse, too, please," she mentions before thumping to the ground, allowing the medical staff to take care of her as well.
