Testing the Hull Ripper
Date of Scene: 10 June 2016
Location: Steelcliff
Synopsis: Allan has made a horrifying new toy, now someone just needs to test it...
Cast of Characters: 123, 516, Sanary Rondel

Allan Bodily (123) has posed:
Welcome to Steelcliff, a mountain city that doubles as the headquarters of the Red Union. Some would question the sanity of living in a town run by bunch of rather violent revolutionaries, but the locals generally agree that on the whole? Allan and co. are better then the guys they killed to take this place.

Past the massive front gate that got Steelcliff it's name is the military complex. Barracks, training yards, garages, Scrapyard... everything the RU needs to do what it does best: kill things and loot the remains.

    What? It's a Confederate group.

Today, one of the training yards is empty, save for what looks like the remains of a large mech that has been somehow made to stand up, and in front of that something rather large covered in a tarp, a tarp that Allan is currently sitting on.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Sanary's looking a little hurried as she finds her way around Steelcliff, searching for signage and people to help her figure out which way she needs to go to get to the Red Union. It's one thing to be fashionably late, but the healer is...

A little more late than that. She can't help if she got distracted looking around the city! Still, she couldn't help but look around at that massive metal wall, at the engravings on it, the architecture on the way to the training yard...

Oh yeah. Training yard! That's as good of a sign as she'll get that she's in the right place. Spotting Allan not too far away, Sanary raises her hand before jogging over briskly. "Allan! Hi. Hey. Sorry I'm late. Didn't keep you waiting too long, did I?" She offers an apologetic grin at that, although the excitement in her face is already becoming more visible by the moment. "S-so! Is that the test subject today?"

Ferham (516) has posed:
Call it protectiveness, but when Sanary was asked to come test out something over the radio--even by an ally, Ferham was going to show up to see what was going on. She has her IFF transponder beacon active, so she should be able to approach via air and set herself down, her high heeled boots clicking as she landed. As she walked through the facility compound, no doubt she'd be getting some stares and perhaps even a few catcalls as the femmebot made her way through the area around the barracks and garage.

Her green eyes peered dispassionately over the empty training yard as she came up to it, spotting Allan finally, then noting Sanary was already here.

"Don't mind me, I was just curious about what you were testing here," her voice is deep and feminine, almost a purr.

Allan Bodily (123) has posed:
"Late? Eh, no problem. We've got time yet." He gives Ferham a small nod as he stands up, as for what we're testing..." He reaches down and throws off the tarp revealing...

Whatever this thing is, it is clearly not work of a sound mind. It's a circular saw, massive in size. The kind you see in workshops and salvage yards the 'verse over. Used for cutting open mechs or getting through those really tough dura-steel starship hulls. It's seen some modification though. The frame has been reinforced, and the whole thing given a set of handles that allows it to be lifted up chainsaw style. Next to it is what looks like a pair of arms off some futuristic power armor, hooked into some sort of backpack generator.

"This, Ladies and..." There's a pause as Allan looks over his audience of two quickly, before simply shrugging. "Ladies, is the Hull Ripper, Inspired by our recent trouble with those #$^&Wing fleet daughters over Union side. This thing is built for one simple task. Carving up large, armored targets." He gives a wide grin. "If this works out I'm looking to send a few of these out when we go to get even for Yari. might even have a few uses elsewhere."

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Hearing Ferham, Sanary turns to give the fembot a light wave and grin as well. "Hey, Ferry. Joining us, then? Should be a fun test, then." She chuckles lightly and flexes an arm for emphasis. "Especially if this thing's as heavy as that cover looks. Speaking of..."

Sanary backs up when Allan unveils the device, her eye gleaming just a little more once it's finally revealed. She lets out a quiet pleased noise while looking from the saw to Allan to the saw to Ferham to the saw again. The size of it, all those parts for convenient holding and the external power source...

Not that she really knows what some of those parts are even for, but she can probably guess.

"That... That is... A /few/ of these? So... You've got more." Luckily, Sanary's not foaming at the mouth just yet. She is biting her lip a bit, though, and it's fairly obvious that she wants to get her hands on that thing. "Sounds perfect for taking those girls apart... Can it do buildings, too?"

Ferham (516) has posed:
Fer's eyes flick over to Allan as he unveils his latest project, pausing for a beat as he mentions it's armor piercing properties--obviously it gives her pause for more than a second, but no longer. Clearly she wouldn't want to wind up on the receiving end of it. There was also perhaps the personal dislike for just anyone having the capability to pierce robot armor. She walks around it, heels clicking as she noticed the external-ness of it, then nodded.

"I suppose the peripheral design removes the necessity for it to be connected individually to whatever armor you're using," she had her arms crossed but she looked impressed, weighing it on it's own merits fairly. A beat. "Just don't ever point one toward me," she smirked a little.

As she notices Sanary getting... excited over the new toy, Ferham steps over and puts an arm around the war cleric's shoulders, sidling alongside her as she bends down to do a quick check of the girl's vitals. Mainly a peek into her eyes, then a subtle press of two gloved fingers against her throat near the carotid--before straightening back out and letting the girl go. Was she still worried she was infected with the black tears?

Allan Bodily (123) has posed:
"We only have the one, but if it's working, there's nothing stopping us making more. As for buildings? Maybe with a good stone blade. The blade in there is meant for metal."

Allan nods to Ferham. "It was easier to keep them separate. makes repairing and replacing parts easier, and there's always the chance the intended user is strong enough not to need the arms." He blinks as he notices how Sanary is acting. "Go ahead, throw on the arms if you need too, see if you can pick it up. That's why I called you in."

Sanary Rondel has posed:
"Periph..? Oh. Not being attached to... Gotcha." Sanary's only partially paying attention as she circles around the saw, still not quite understanding what she's looking at even though she's still fawning over the size of the weapon. "Looks a little... Clunky to use in a fight, though. Although for the ship forms... Yeah, this should work nicely on metal."

She gives the blade itself a light nudge before beaming again now that Allan's given her the go ahead. "Awesome. Let's try it without the arms first." And without further ado, it's time to test!

Hefting the saw with both hands, Sanary staggers a bit as she gets used to the weapon's weight. "Wh-whoa. This is... A lot heavier than I thought it'd be!" She lets out a little laugh as she strains further, eventually managing to get the saw hoisted overhead! Albeit with a fair amount of wobbling, but still.

She does cheat a bit with some magic funneling into her arms to augment her strength, but it helps substantially in steady her hold. She gives the mighty weapon a few practice swings to get used to its weight before stepping towards the mech. Sanary glances back at Allan and Ferham with a broad grin, then takes one more practice swing to steady her grip. She rears back, then takes a large overhead swing at the mech's arm. She doesn't want to just knock the mech over, after all, but to see how much damage the saw can do!

Ferham (516) has posed:
"I suppose Sanary would know, she deals with martial weapons and hand to hand combat," Ferham shrugged, hearing that it seemed like it might be too big for her to wield without being inside a suit or a mech. She looks to Bodily. "I can see that, I use a similar weapon myself, though it's not nearly as large as this," Fer held out her whip, right now looking more like a handle without any cable attached to it. Imagine it as sort of a light saber-whip, but without the laser cutting properties, exactly.

Ferham had to step back when Sanary augmented her strength magically and began testing the weapon out, swinging it about.

"Err, do be careful with that, now, captain," she cautioned, trying to sound formal.

Allan Bodily (123) has posed:
Allan swatches as Sanary actually lifts the saw. "Heh, guess you can lift it!" There's a loud *CLANG!* as the saw connects, and... nothing. Allan simply grins at this. "Start button for the saw's near the base of the lower handle. See if you can keep a grip on it as it spins!"

Ferham's whip gets a small nod, though he obviously doesn't know exactly what it is with it currently turned off. "A handle... Energy weapon? We see parts for those crop up occasionally. anything besides a typical blaster is kinda rare though."

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Sanary lets out a confident laugh as she surveys the damage to the mech, stepping back rapidly just to make sure she doesn't get a chunk of falling metal hitting her in the face. Not that anything does hit her, of course, because she's never used a chain saw before! "Can definitely see the point of using those arms... Ahah. Gotcha."

Sanary proceeds to demonstrate her lack of familiarity with chainsaws when she rests the saw against her shoulder, nice and close to her face (yet without being close enough to catch her hair or anything painful) before hitting the button!

At least she's got a steady grip on the thing. It isn't too hard to hold it away from her face once it starts up, although she's looking both freaked out andincredibly excited.

Ferham (516) has posed:
Ferham hadn't expected Allan to want a demo, but noticing his apparent confusion with her device she activated the whip and showed him the glowing pink cord of the whip's length that snaked out--and showed him a few snaps of it, producing an appropriate set of cracking noises. Hopefully it didn't draw too much attention, someone might think a dominatrix had been hired for the evening, with her luck. "It's not a cutting weapon, but electromagnetic, designed to be used on other robots," Ferham explained, and then was distracted as she noticed Sanary having a hard time handling the heaviness of the weapon.

"Yes... turning it on might help, of course," Ferham sighed and put a gloved hand to her temple, grinning a little. Sanary was at least eager to try out new technology.

Allan Bodily (123) has posed:
Allan nods slowly as the whip appears. "...I see. Well if you ever needed it upgraded or modified Feel free to give us a yell." If he's away of what things look like, he's not commenting.

As Sanary hits the button, there's a hum, that quickly turns into a loud whine as the circular saw springs to life, and it's going much faster than what might be considered normal. Someone must of sped it up on top of all the other mods. Allan meanwhile is all smiles. "A-HA! There we go. Alright, so we need to see how readily it can be used as a weapon, Which means I want to see a bit more than some simple test cuts. Fortunately I took the time to set up a little some encouragement!"

Allan pulls a small remote out of his pocket, he points it up at the mech and hits a button, suddenly there's a click from the the mech as tinny, triumphant music starts to play, like something out of an old movie... then it starts to speak.

"Have no fear! The Union is here!"
    "Right makes might!"
"Ours is the true path to justice!"
    And so on...

While the voices and music plays, Allan speaks, shouting to be heard over the substantial noise from both the mech and the saw. "If you want that self-righteous #$^&er of a pilot to shut his trap? I'd suggest you get work on cutting him out of there quickly! No time to play nice here, go $#^& 'em up!"

Sanary Rondel has posed:
"Hm... Remind me to get one of those, too. Haven't really had any luck fighting robots yet.. Er. Not that I'm gonna fight you or anything! But.. You know. Other... Robots." Sanary responds to Ferham, stumbling a bit on her words before pausing. "... Or a hammer." She really needs to pick one of those up some day. Sure, she's got plenty of shields for bashing things open, but it's not quite the same as a sledge-

Oh yeah. The bricks. Sanary keeps her head nice and away from that saw as it whirrs with all that speed and power carried inside it, and there's a huge grin on her face as Allan turns the mech's recording on. Steadying her hold on the saw once more, she steps towards it and hoists the saw even higher, then...

"No test cuts. Big cuts. Got it!" And then the healer sets upon the mech! She's not just swinging at it, though: No, she's trying to swing /through/ it. She wants to see it just as much as Allan, after all, and she's putting her faith in the saw's capabilities that it won't bounce off the wrong way and mangle her face!

Ferham (516) has posed:
Ferham didn't hate the union, nor did she necessarily hold anything against them--though they did seem a bit... how as the human expression? Up their own ass at times? That could be it. So while she was a little non-plussed by the Dudley Do-right impression of a unioner the mech was doing, she didn't seem to mind the fact it was going to get torn up in just a few moments. She silently engaged a lime-green visor to come down over the open face of her helmet forming a kind of protective 'bubble' just in case any metal splinters or shrapnel came their way.

"Becareful now Sanary, that's a large construct--it might have combustable fuel still," she said with the tone of someone reminding their kid to watch out for gopher holes when they ran out to play in the field.

Allan Bodily (123) has posed:
The saw blade actually works! ...more or less. There's definitely a bit of a need to brace for impact as the blade hits home, and a bit of an odd pull on the handles as it digs in but it seems to be cutting well enough to do what it needs to. The arms Sanary skipped on using are probably meant to help with that somewhat. It's also doing a good job of keeping any spray AWAY from Sanary, which is good, because being swing around like this means the Hull Ripper is doing exactly what the name implies: leaving nasty looking, uneven gashes in it's wake.

At Ferham's comment, Allan speaks up again. "The mech was depowered down and drained of fuel! Don't want any explosions during the test! Plus we only have a strawman in the cockpit not a live one, so no worries there!"

There's a sudden pause, Allan blinking a few times as if he's suddenly remembered something. Then...

"Alternatively: Sorry it's not a real person in there!"

Sanary Rondel has posed:
"Combustible whatnow?" That's something Sanary probably should have considered before sawing right into that mech, huh? Well, too late for that now. She'll just have to hope for the best as she cuts into the massive not-really-Union mech!

Not that she necessarily hates the Union, either. She just has a very low opinion of them!

Sanary's still howling with glee as she slashes into the mech, adjusting her grip every now and then to get a more comfortable hold on the thing. She laughs at the mention of the safety and people, shaking her head once before swinging for the mech's legs next.

"That's fine! Wouldn't be interesting with a real person trapped in there, anyway. Kinda... Too easy, ya know?!" She's got some pride, at least.

Ferham (516) has posed:
Ferham /peeers/ over to Allan after he clarifies that and the femmebot is sliding over to the mechanic's side, a black-gloved hand falling on his shoulder.

"Oh? what is in there, then?" she asks, her voice being filtered as it's coming out of the green visor she has down over her face. She seems to be just a tad perturbed with him if there was something like a robot or some other kind of AI in there. As a robot herself in a sense it did still cause her to get a little annoyed at some of the... attitudes against robots and the like she'd run into here and there around the 'verse. It seemed to run the gamut of people used to them and accepting to folks who'd sooner use them for target practice.

Allan Bodily (123) has posed:
The hand on his shoulder get's a look. Before he says calmly. "Like I said, a strawman. We stuffed an old flight suit with some straw, drew a stupid face on a bag for the head-oh, and threw in some old audio equipment to give 'em a voice." He frowns a bit. "I get you guys might of expected a prisoner or something from the likes of me, but I honestly encourage fast kills in the Red union, the longer it takes, the more likely some hero gets in the way." Apparently he has standards... kinda.

As the Mech's legs are cut into, the whole body stars to lean towards the side, causing Allan to call out "Watch yer heads people! It's going down!"

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Sanary steps back to observe the saw's handiwork, her grinning widening just a bit at the sheer level of damage it's done in such a short amount of time. "That... That is /really/ nice. And if you can get soldiers armed with this sort of thing..."

She pauses, then snickers and gesures at the arms with her head. "Heh... Get it? Aaaarms?"

She coughs lightly into her hand, then scurries back when Allan calls out that warning. She can't admire her handiwork for long, it seems! Sanary does hastily conjure up some bricks, however, and sends them forward to hold it up a little longer just in case either Ferham or Allan happen to be in that thing's path!

     "... I like this thing."

Ferham (516) has posed:
"Hmph, alright," Ferham lifted her hand away, not invading the man's personal space anymore. Ferham spread her wings out behind her and she'd rise off the ground to be clear of any debris of flying wreckage that Sanary was accidentally sending their way with what she was doing with that huge saw. She'd pick up Allan by the shoulder or the like too, if it looked like he was in trouble.

"Looks like Sanary is having fun with her new toy," she said, filtered through the visor again, floating several feet up in the air now.

Allan Bodily (123) has posed:
The sound of something heavy hitting hte ground, and metal buckling and twisting fills the air as the mech comes crashing to the ground, landing in a word position on it's side. Allan for his part, simple wobbles slightly, standing a good distance away from the mech. "Alright, I think we've seen what we need to."

Allan pulls out the remote again, taking a moment to turn the music and voice off. "good to know you like it, I'll have a few of my boys take a look at it, see if the arms work. But from the looks of it we'll want ot start making more of these soon."

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Sanary pants lightly as she finally sets that saw down, the adrenaline rush wearing off and giving way to fatigue over her arms feeling like rocks. "That... that is a /very/ fun weapon. Definitely worth messing around with more.."

THe healer lets out a confident laugh before taking a seat right on the spot, looking from the fallen mech to Allan and Ferham. "I can test the arms another time if you're up for it. Once my... Uh. Regular arms work again."
