Yuuki Kuran | After Dame Commander Lilian Rook's operation in The City to prove the foundation of an Elite based Association in connection with the Hana Association's Oliver, the Vampires And Hibiki party found an extra vampire and took them home. Since Angela and the Lobotomy Corporation was the Concord's interest in the City, and neither the Corporation nor the City would offer much safety to a young rogue Blood Fiend in the middle of things with 'hunters' prowling about. So, thanks to Zero Kiryu's rosethorn thicket castle-portation ability, Magnolia was sent to the Elysium Apex' penthouse level guest rooms to be pampered like visiting royalty and let decompress for a while. Tonight, in the early evening, she was waked and escorted below the incredible luxury tower into the metropolis below. The Grand Dorado has a massive conferencing area, constantly abuzz with a schedule of offerings lining both sides of a main street. At the far end, the most impressive pavilions are of course for *internal* events, and require VIP Visitor badge, staff keycard, or Partner-or-above biometric access to enter. Hibiki Tachibana, Alucard, and Lilian Rook are all flagged as VIP Visitors, and Magnolia herself has been given staff-presenter access to the back of house areas. The meeting room the party is escorted to, controlled by a black curtain trimmed in gold and a flatscreen display declaring the room 'OCCUPIED - Director's Party', is a wood-floored teahouse for six setting, a backdoor in black slate with a golden porthole that appears to be one-way. The actual seats are dropped into the floor and placesettings set atop the recessed vaguely-Japanese style tea setting. What is not served is tea, though, but a diamond-shaped tray of hot mulled ciders and teas, sweet and savory pastries, several bottles of wine -- and several dark red pouches in advanced see-through packaging printed with details, sat in a bucket of icecubes. Yuuki, herself, has set her shoujo self into the place facing the door, and pulled a steaming mug of cider and a savory pastry filled with pork and sauce. She wears a long, backless and sleeveless black dress and a silver cross on a chain, with a white jacket that has been folded besides her rather than worn. About her right ear is the coiled-thorn grip of a metal rose. |
Zero Kiryu | It's easier to see, when you already know what to look for. An inordinately large slice of Grand Dorado's grounds are covered in plants that are very similar to the one that rests at Yuuki's right ear-- these are all places that Zero Kiryu can observe, project his power through, or teleport directly to. The one that Yuuki wears is the one that he pays attention to basically all the time, though-- he doesn't have the dispersed consciousness required to monitor the whole of his deployed plants or even most of them. His attention is, of course, on Yuuki's on this particular occasion. He flickers into sight next to her, carrying a paper bag which, on closer inspection, is a prescription bag. Zero fishes three black paper packets with a distinctive pink rose emblem -- closely corresponding to the tattoo on his neck in style -- out of the bag and places it down very close to the chilled blood bags. They have solutions for the problems of vampires, after all-- even if it's really just more of the same. The difference between the tablets and the chilled blood... ... Well, it's mostly just measure of volunteers needed to make them happen and 'form' rather than function. Tonight, Zero is dressed in black slacks and a matching button-down shirt, with a blue vest. It was, he had decided, too on the nose to wear red tonight. |
Angela | Magnolia has been taken to GRAND DORADO and has been dumped into a guest room within GRAND DORADO. This is a pretty severe shift in life circumstances. She also lost her brother but there's not much she can do about that since he completely lost his mind and started trying to imitate a lunatic like Elena. It is unlikely Lobotomy Corp would be a pleasant place for her, of course, but Angela probably wouldn't want a bloodfiend in the facility either. It's a place where blood is shed frequently. Besides, it's in L Corp's best interests to stay away from the (as of yet unnamed) Thirteenth Association. The Head is just too close to that project. Magnolia only asks for some blood to consume once a night and seems leery of letting herself be TOO pampered--the Concord, Yuuki, and Zero are all new entities to her even if she has heard of them. Sometimes something seems too good to be true and you start expecting a catch. She wants to know what's expected of her before she gets too comfortable. She seems to be doing better, physically, and is more coherent. She has trimmed her pink hair to be a bit more even in the back, washed up, combed her hair and eventually was taken down to the meeting room. Her eyes watch the dark red pouches. To her, Yuuki and Zero are people of vast wealth since for a blood fiend blood is essentially their currency and their desire and their need--much in the way cash is for human beings. But it'd be rude as fuck to just reach for one and she has been fed so she's not starving right now. Tearing her eyes away from the blood packs she take a tea for the moment. She can consume things that aren't blood--it's not really the same. She has gotten a change of clothes, something more similar to what a Fixer might wear--a light dress suit and skirt that is ''nice'' but subdued. She bows her head to Yuuki and Zero, instinctively thinking about the rules when engaging with The Thumb. She isn't aware she got transported to another genre yet. "I apologize if I'm speaking out of turn, but... thank you for taking me out of that situation. I'm not sure how I can help you but I'll answer whatever questions you have." |
Hibiki Tachibana | Well, the last time Tachibana Hibiki visited a major factional base didn't go so well, so let's endeavor to make this one better. That, along with the fact she's never been to the Grand Dorado period before (unsurprisingly) is probably part why she's a little openly awkward about the whole arrangement - on top of the general amazing scale and high-end nature of the entire metropolis making her feel pretty out of place. Sort of like taking a trip to the Closet of Babylon, turned up to eleven. There's also the thing about her being the only non-vampire out of the entire group, but you know. She hasn't come dressed in anything fancy, but still not her usual; just a knitted beige sweater of the variety you'd wear on a winter day, along with darker pants. After getting here almost entirely thanks to their escorts knowing the way and Zero's plantlife being extremely discernable, Hibiki has found herself a cross-legged seat. And eventually, maybe a pastry, but that'll come after a nod of her head to Yuuki and Zero both. "...Thanks for the invite. Saying you've got an amazing place here is an understatement." But also, Magnolia. Taking some time to get herself settled in, Hibiki spends a moment glancing her over - taking in her own hesitation on how to approach things. That actually helps Hibiki loosen up a bit herself. "Well, I can't speak for either of them, and we didn't really get to chat back there either, but..." A bit of a shuffle. "You look like you're doing a lot better. How are you feeling?" |
Yuuki Kuran | Kuran Yuuki is completely unsurprised when Zero appears besides her, even shifting just her hands out to accept the shift-over of paper bag. The 'prescription' in this case, paper pill containers, and after drawing all three out, the Kuran Queen considers them with a shuffling shift between her fingers and smiles faintly. Reaching into the bag to search out one more pouch, Yuuki lifts a white envelope with the stylized flower-seal in pink again. A different kind of medicine. "I'm glad you could make it, Hibiki, and, I'm glad you seem better, Magnolia." Yuuki greets, finally, when the gang is all assembled, smiling faintly and with eyes morning-sleepy quarterlidded. "You're welcome for being taken from that dire place. We knew you couldn't remain there, so, for now, you can stay with us. I'd hope to employ you to make your world better. If you'd rather seek independent employment, we'll happily offer you a stipend until you get settled. But I'd rather you stay with us, of course." Yuuki smiles thinly at Hibiki. "In some capacity." Her attention shifts fully with the topic change. "Hibiki, what are your plans for the city?" While she offers this, Yuuki geeently pushes the ice bucket towards Magnolia, her psychic 'voice' whispering like a butterfly landing on the Blood Fiend's ear. 'It's for you, don't worry. For offering us what you know, of course, you'll be compensated. This is just refreshments.' |
Zero Kiryu | "'Speaking out of turn'... it would be hard for you to do so," Zero says. He plucks one of the paper packets of pills up and slides it in Magnolia's direction. "These are condensed blood pills. They're used by vampires as a sort of 'diet blood'. There isn't an individual donor... and they don't taste very good. But they'll let you deal with your hunger urges without appearing to consume blood. You can dissolve them in water, if you want a more 'drinking' experience, but it doesn't really taste good." Towards Hibiki, he replies, "Thank you. Grand Dorado is quite nice... though I prefer my own constructions." He's talking about his plants. "I've had more input here than in most of my previously irritating opulent messes, though, so I can't complain much." His attention swings back to Magnolia. "One of the particular interests that the Director and I pursue is the pharmaceutical correction of certain difficulties with vampirism. The blood tablets assist in diluting the harm that a vampire has to do to 'exist' casually, an infectious bite can be made 'sterile', and we're working on certain gradients of mental degradation." "Which is to say that expanding that to your subspecies of vampire would be of some interest to us. Our avenues for this happen to coincide with your interest in continued education," he clarifies. |
Angela | "Make the world better..?" Magnolia asks, like nobody's ever used words in such a sequence to her before. But before she can dwell on that, she sees Hibiki who is a bit closer to Magnolia in (apparent) age. "Ah, yeah," She says to Bikki. "I mean...my brother's gone so I can only be so happy about how it went down but ... Well, when a family member of yours goes off and abandons you... To say nothing of all the people he killed." She sighs. "...It feels fucked up to say 'good riddance' but also being too sad feels like an insult to the dead and also myself." She's probably going to be dwelling on this for a long time, wondering if she could have stopped it, sometimes blaming herself, sometimes getting mad at her brother for putting her in this position to begin with. Returning her attention to Yuuki, she takes a bloodpack at being told that they are refreshments. "How do you have so much..?" She wonder aloud before adding, "What does making the world a better place look like?" She tilts her head. "Do you mean my world? The multiverse? What does the work entail?" ''For offering us what you know.'' Rather than drinking it directly, Magnolia runs her hand over the bloodpack. The blood shifts at her control and starts forming small jewel-like stones. "Drinking blood isn't just what we use blood for. It is a kind of currency, and a symbol of power--the more blood you have beyond that which is required to sustaint yourself, the more powerful a blood fiend you are. Most blood fiends, particularly the older blood fiends, are very careful about not taking too much blood, and for obscuring their presence from the rest of The City. Because of our nature, clashes between Fixers and Blood Fiends are inevitable but if we are careful we can avoid too much trouble." Blood pills are offered to Magnolia. She seems embarrassed, like being handed a hundred thousand dollars just for showing up--not so much just from the blood pills but from the blood packs, from what Zero and Yuuki offered themselves... Strange memories that weren't hers exactly... Zero explains what 'making the world a better place' looks to them. It's strange to see such powerful vampires be interested in limiting the harm of vampirism. "There's an elder for every District in the City." She explains further. "They don't tend to infect too many people either. Thre was a time when there were more of us, but in order to live peacefully with the City...there was a culling a long time ago. And it's tradition for when other blood fiends go crazy like how Elena did--that we orchestrate their end so they don't bring danger to the rest of us. That's how it's been." She studies the pills a bit more closely. Bloodpacks aside, she's not sure what effect they'd have on her people. "It...isn't just about thirst, though, like I said. It is also a kind of currency. While I think any elder would approve of methods that would limit harm, I'm not sure if this sort of supplement would suffice. It--it might but ... Well, I am younger than most blood fiends myself. I know the rules." |
Zero Kiryu | //How do you have so much?// Before anything else is addressed, or anyone else can raise their voice to answer, Zero gestures towards Yuuki and explains, "She and I hardly drink the blood of anyone but each other. If you put us together in otherwise complete isolation out in the desert, we would still never go hungry or even be uncomfortable. There is no need... to drink the blood of humans. Keeping some in reserve from friendly associates is easy. Blood drives, and so forth. That's where the pills come from, as well. If you consider blood to be 'money', you might think of the pills as loose change jars we've poured into a usable form." |
Hibiki Tachibana | Zero gets a nod - she can at least understand preferring your own style of things - before Hibiki finally reaches forward to grasp onto a pastry. Something to keep her mouth occupied whenever she's not talking, really. As she brings it to her mouth, she pauses at Magnolia speaking of her brother, the snack left hovering pre-bite. Well, when a family member of yours goes off and abandons you... "...It's fine not to feel any one way about it," she murmurs, lowering the pastry back down, still untouched. "You can still miss him and what he used to be, while not forgiving what he became. ...At any rate, I'm still just glad you're out of there now." After a moment, she does fill time actually snacking while discussion on Blood Fiend society and helping issues with vampirism come up, and if she's ruminating on anything to say to those, she doesn't voice them. Instead, it's the question addressed to her that gets her to perk back up almost belatedly. Hibiki, what are your plans for the city? "I'm seriously no good at long term plans." That's the first thing she says, as if getting it out of the way. "But... well, I want to start by making sure Angela and the others finish what they're doing. I think how things go after that... is gonna influence a lot of what happens next." She goes quiet after, munching while openly thinking. "But 'til then... I wanna learn firsthand about how things are for everyone who lives in the City. What they gotta deal with, everything they worry about and need to be fixed. The people in it. That's part of why I went on that mission in the first place," there's a little gesture of her head in Magnolia's direction, then exhales. "...and why it looks like I'm gonna be learning a whole lot about their gangs on the streets, too." Remembering that run-in with the Kurokumo is a bit unpleasant. |
Yuuki Kuran | "Grief will take time." Yuuki agrees, leaning against the recessed table-edge, draped over one closed fist that her chin sits upon, her long red-brown hair falling uncut about her face and shoulders and pooling about the table. She watches Magnolia, deep interest shifting sleepily from pastries to fully rest on their new Blood Fiend guest. Details fall into place, Yuuki getting a high-level feeling of Magnolia's role and place within things - her history, a feeling of her past. Filling in like watercolor while she listens, Yuuki is captured by the yet-different state that is hinted at. "There is a whole network of 'our people' there, then? I've found such a variety of the kinds and societies of vampires that all feel familiar in the end, but I'm *really* curious. Is there a chance you could help connect us with an Elder? If there's a representative in each district, it would be to our benefit to draw their expertise to help us make the whole of the City better--" But Yuuki is asked to explain better, and eventually she circles to that well after Zero explains their own position as 'extremely, thoughtlessly vampire wealthy' without going into the particular details of their fortunes. "I think," She begins. "That there's a certain level of suffering that's needless, a suppressive force placed upon worlds that destroys something *good* about it." Yuuki nods. "So for a long time, I've fought and acted to help worlds come to a kinder state, to reduce harm and encourage growth. To... Challenge the logic of suffering, and the necessary pains of living." Turning her head to Zero with a sunny-beaming smile, rising and falling slowly, Yuuki spend a moment paused there just breathing. In, and with a satisfied sigh, out. "That I would always live with pain in my family. That I would be cursed to never kiss the neck of my beloved human friends for fear of my fangs sharing with them an *illness*, from an infected wound. We have decided to change things about our world, and we live better." Yuuki turns back to Hibiki, reaching over to offer a happly shoulder-pat-and-rub to the simply-dressed Symphogear user. "It's why I think your answer is good! Would you like to help? I think wanting to go across the districts and see the gangs on the streets is a way to really touch the... beating heart of the world. I hope you find - or make - sweet memories." Sitting up and clasping her hands in front of her, Yuuki smiles pleasantly between Hibiki and Magnolia and awaits good news with an 'it's settled, right?' pleased face. |
Zero Kiryu | "The effects of vampirism on those close to us can be taxing. My mentor was forced to kill his fiancee when she went feral, and lost an eye in the doing. I myself came close to turning feral due to the circumstances of my turning," Zero adds towards Magnolia, sympathetically. "My brother 'spent himself' to buy me time, among other, unrelated reasons. If you require access to a therapist, that can be provided. If you wish to talk, now and again, both the Director and I can make time. Though of the two of us, I am the one less useful at such things. Alternatively, there is Flamel Parsons..." //I'm seriously no good at long term plans.// Glancing back to Hibiki, he replies, "What do you want to happen? It is easier to 'want' things than to plan the road to obtaining them. To learn more details is obviously necessary, but what lies beyond that? For instance... it was obvious that Jonathan needed help, but there probably was a point where your idea of what shape that help would take might be..." Even if it was simply the elimination of that vampire and his grotesque parasites," he concludes, trying to provide historical guidelines to what he's getting at. |
Angela | "Oh...huh..." Magnolia says, marveling at the idea of blood fiends just entering that kind of symbiotic exchange to satisfy their thirst. It would require a great deal of trust, she imagines. Could she have done that with her brother? ... Not anymore. Even if he was still around. Loose change makes sense in a way she can digest. She gives Zero Kiryu a nod of her own. ''You can still miss him and what he used to be, while not forgiving what he became.'' "Yeah..." Magnolia says. "...That makes sense." She gives Hibiki a simle. "...Thanks. I'll ... try to think of it like that, I think. It's... a little messy, but I guess--well, it's a little messy." ''Angela and the others finish what they're doing'' "Who is Angela and...uh...what are they doing?" Magnolia doesn't even know Angela exists. Mirinae also had her interest piqued by the name but whether they trust this random vampire to give details about an even more illegal entity is up to them. ''And why i looks like I'm gonna be learning a whole lot about their gangs on the street, too.'' "Ah, a lot of the lower level gangs are attached to bigger gangs--and not too many gangs are quite like each other. You speak of networks but--yeah, everything is networked to each other. You could spend forever figuring it all out and still have more to learn." ''THere is a whole network of our people there, then?'' "That's right," Magnolia murmurs, turning more of the blood in the pack into those little strange jewels. "There's an elder for every district and usually a small familial community within them--but there is still a bunch of contact between the elders. It is a bit like the Sweepers--we aren't considered anathemic by the Head." Unlike Angela, for some reason, who can't bite people and turn them into blood monsters. Yuuki explains what a kinder state means. How much suffering is needless and a kinder state can come about, that a state of reduced harm can come about with a little bit of work. It's a sweet prosocial aim that isn't exactly extreme except in its simplicity. "Human friends.... ... I've lost all the ones I had in that town. Even if they survived, I couldn't bear to visit them again." She exhales slowly, taking in Zero's own story. They've lived such harrowing lives, it's no wonder that they want to support someone like her--and why it must seem so easy to them, considering it was only recently that she'd even claim to have trauma at all outside of the low key agony of living as a blood fiend in this city--something she only ever knew as reality and as such didn't really find it strange or particularly unjust--she did hope she could help her people, but in the way anyone would want to help a community. "A therapist?" She asks like she's trying the word out. "Er. I don't know this Flamel but if you think he could help me with my grief I wouldn't mind." She rubs at her own neck with a hand. "I can get you in touch with ''my'' elder. I wouldn't be able to with the others as easily. But she probably knows where the others are so...If you could convince her, you might get somewhere with these ideas of yours and--if I could continue getting an education somehow, I'd...really love that." She manages an awkward little smile. "Um, but I should say--the elders might be a little anxious about changing a status quo that works in lieu of something that seems better but also more dangerous. They're very keyed in on keeping what remains of the children of Nosferatu safe--especially since his disappearance." |
Hibiki Tachibana | ...Thanks. I'll ... try to think of it like that, I think. It's... a little messy, but I guess--well, it's a little messy. The blonde magical girl lets out a quiet sound of what's probably agreement. And then Yuuki's encouragement seems to momentarily put Hibiki in deer-in-headlights mode, either because she's still soaking in her idea of what making things better is, or because that pleasant, expectant grin is difficult to respond to right away. Maybe both? Probably both. Zero, however, gets her brain moving again. To learn more details is obviously necessary, but what lies beyond that? For instance... it was obvious that Jonathan needed help, but there probably was a point where your idea of what shape that help would take might be.. The comparison to their Egypt expedition and dealing with DIO's minions visibly gets Hibiki thinking - back then, to what she thought when first going to join in, and then to how that progressed as they went further, learned more, and met more of his Stand users - even helped them break free of control and turn their lives around. She spends a few seconds staring down at the pastry she's holding. "I want... the City to be a place where Angela and the Sephirah don't have to end up trapped in hells like that." Thinking back to the Meltdowns isn't nice either. "Or where the few people who go out of their way to do good are always outnumbered and suffering for it..." She recalls the Blade Lineage facing off against the Kurokumo - and to a lesser extent, what she knows of Kali. "Yeah. Back with DIO, I decided I'd do whatever I could to make sure he could stop taking advantage of people the way he was. Maybe it's not so different here." Hibiki glances up, vaguely in Yuuki's direction. "...Or that different from what you're after. Of course I'm up for helping. And... I hope the memories end up being good ones, too. I wanna make sure they are." And then, once again like a belated smack-- Who is Angela and...uh...what are they doing? "Uh." Hibiki, once again, falls silent as the gears stop in her brain. It's... probably not her place to explain that? If it gets explained at all? She thinks? |
Zero Kiryu | That's right. Zero speaks to Magnolia's mind. That is the sort of relationship we have. But it is also... the case that nobody else has as good a taste to us as each other. All vampires are a little psychic, and this is conveyed in blood. We can ascertain compatibility between one another in this way. Everyone else tastes worse, even if... they smell or taste pretty good in their own right. Clearing his throat, he adds, "Angela is another associate of ours who is in a precarious position. Don't be too concerned about her, for the moment... we've offered her the opportunity to become a vampire, of sorts." //You could spend forever figuring it all out and still have more to learn.// "Forever is longer than you think it is. And we do have it," he answers, smiling faintly. "There are many problems that are not problems for us because we can wait, and give them their time, and they will be gone. But that is not the productive way to go about some things." //Human friends.... ... I've lost all the ones I had in that town. Even if they survived, I couldn't bear to visit them again.// Nodding, he says, "We do have a revival expert, provided that the bodies are sufficiently intact. Do you wish for the woman who was in the house with you to be evaluated for possible revival? And yes. Flamel can address most any matter of mental health problem. If nothing else, you might enjoy seeing how it works." //I want... the City to be a place where Angela and the Sephirah don't have to end up trapped in hells like that.// Zero inclines his head. "Good. Our priority at the moment is making certain that Angela is able to do what she needs to, but overall betterment of the City is in line with that." His attention swings over towards Yuuki, who he reaches over and hair-ruffles, "Well... I suppose that we're going to be forcing a student on Aido, then." |
Yuuki Kuran | "Zero really is right!" Yuuki encouragingly doubles-up, leaning besides to head-on to Zero's bicep and grin lopsidedly. "It's *most* important to envision, encode what you want into the strongest stone you can imagine, a big enough rock to--" Yuuki claps her hands. "Smush or withstand anything. And with that great big rock, you can hold onto that until you don't need it any more." She seems rather proud of her great big rock of feelings. "You can build a castle with a great big rock, you know." A little twist of her head, happy-everfond, and Yuuki is off Zero's arm to lean sleepily against their table once more. "The Concord has a fund for the development of Vampiric interests, and of course," She curls forward her hand in a pawing and scoffing honesty-moment. "-that mostly means money I've allowed to be marked for spending on my friends and people I like and find without feeling *bad* about it." The short shoujo queen (of Vampires) giggles and turns her curled-forward palm to cover her mouth in a nearly-courtly gesture of poise. "I think an education is a great idea. We'll have an apartment in the Grand Dorado prepared for you, Magnolia, and..." 'Well... I suppose that we're going to be forcing a student on Aido, then.' Yuuki brightens up like a bulb pull-chained at midnight, grinning cattishly-smug. "That's *such* a good idea. Aido would be an excellent resource for Magnolia, and he's between projects. I'm sure he wouldn't mind!" MEANWHILE, In a green sweater over a white collared shirt, a blonde-haired man with strikingly gorgeous features marred only slightly by him drooling on himself, face down on his desk with a happy smile on his face. He's getting to sleep in for the first time in years. He'll get a week. AND IN THE TEA ROOM CONFERENCE ZONE, Yuuki steeples both fingers and sets her chin in them, letting Hibiki startle with a knowing-reading continuance of her feline curled lips. "Hibiki, if you need any support, *please* ask, of course. Egypt was a time that our trying with our hearts set in stone for better made all the difference, and having everyone together made it possible, so if there's anything you need, please know the Concord will provide it." It takes Yuuki a moment to eat, after that, resettling herself with a few demure bites of savory pastry, the juice having cooled as they talked but it not really affecting her. "The worries of the interested parties are what I'd want to hear out, and try to help. That's always what we should do, and meeting the other 'Blood Fiends' is what I hoped to do anyway. So, if I can count on you, Magnolia, that's a relief." Genuine and softly warm, Yuuki makes her pitch, before that pitching tone turns to Hibiki, a once-again eager curiousness to her tone. "Might we offer you a compact? Hibiki? If you'll be helping our Partner, would you be willing to accept working with us directly, temporarily?" |
Angela | Magnolia might be a vampire, but her interests ARE in the sciences, no doubt with a biology-chemistry slant (though some psionic studies may prove relevant as well--Blood Fiends are not so different from Abnormalities or the as of yet uncoined 'Distortions'). It's probably a good thing that Magnolia's interests have pretty much nothing to do with Lobotomy Corp because Hibiki shares several more details that aren't supposed to actually leave 'Elite Knowledge'--but it might be an inevitability at this point that the enemies of Carmen's project are bound to learn some of the details therein. At some point the facility may be in its last loop simply because they won't have any more opportunities to start over again as time outside the facility has always progressed normally relative to the facility itself. "Sephirah...?" Magnolia says, looking bewildered but is honestly endeared by hibiki that she wants to support this weird goal of hers that she hasn't ever heard of before and sounds completely alien to her. "That sounds like a nice want. I don't know who these people are but I hope you're able to help them as you've helped me." Magnolia says, also naturally having no knowledge of who this DIO is. Magnolia is not used to psychic communication and her mouth kind of works alongw ith what Zero's saying. ALl vampires are a little psychic? That might actually be the case for Blood Fiends, she thinks, but there's a lot about her people's natures she knows and a lot that she couldn't exactly go out of the way to study in the same way a human wouldn't necessarily know all the intricacies of their own biological or mental functions. "There's...revival experts in The City too, though they're not free... They're just... the blood that remained, now." Magnolia says. "Maybe some of the students survived or at least died without being converted." She can't know for sure, she was locked up for the end there. ''We've offered her the opportunity to become a vampire, of sorts.'' "That's--I think I'm a little more like Miss Yuuki in that I wouldn't want to turn anyone. The ''Desire'' can hit like an unstoppable wave, especially for those that don't know the rules and weren't raised in them." She nods that this Angela is apparently a top priority--and that helping The City is apparently helping Angela. Angela would disagree but she might be wrong about that in ways she doesn't yet comprehend. Magnolia IS the type of person to passively enjoy seeing an expression of love between two blood-drinking buddies so she smiles a little again. She understands the metaphor. She has the thirst too, after all, and it takes conscious effort to not become like her brother or something worse. ''I suppose that we're going to be forcing a student on Aido, then.'' "Oh! Like a ...tutor?" Grim determination enters her features. "I won't slack off on my studies. I admit, sometimes I ... took the college for granted but I won't let that happen again." ''If I can count on you, Magnolia, that's a relief.'' It's impossible for Magnolia to remain suspicious. Certainly, it is a kind of good fortune that seems alien to her but at a certain point a starved child will take the bread offered even if it happened to be tainted. And if it isn't tainted, well, there's no better way to draw loyalty out from another. "I should...probably lay low for a bit until the story about what happened in that village dies down. But I can get you her contact information." She smiles brightly. "The Multiverse...it's like a promised land..." |
Hibiki Tachibana | Hibiki nods to Zero; it's only natural the Concord will worry about Angela above everything else, looking at it from their view. And of course, Hibiki cares about her too. It's not quite the same level of prioritization, but... there's no doubting they all want the same thing right now. Which means she probably shouldn't be so surprised at Yuuki's forwardness when it comes to offering aid, and more than just in the usual everyone-working-together sense. "A compact...?" She repeats as if triggering a tutorial explanation, although the terms don't really seem complicated enough to need one. After one blink, and then two, her arms fold. And her eyes shut in thought. Surely, a (sort of) senior Watch member being asked to work directly with the Director of the Concord would require some contemplation. Working out the finer terms, setting boundaries, even just giving it some time... But for better or for worse, factional lines matter infinitely less to Tachibana Hibiki than even the average Elite, and this would hardly be the first time she's contracted with supernatural beings for one reason or another. But more than any of that... They have the same goal of improving things in the City, and they want to work together towards it. As far as she's concerned, there's no reason to say no. "...Okay. I'm up for it." Hibiki looks back to Yuuki, a small smile on her face now. "Can't guarantee how much useful stuff I'll actually learn... but if me getting in trouble in the Backstreets and trying to figure these Syndicates out will help, I'll lend a hand." Easier said than done. Blade Lineage, the Kurokumo Clan, and a whole lot more... getting a handle on /all/ of them is gonna take some extended doing. That sounds like a nice want. I don't know who these people are but I hope you're able to help them as you've helped me. The Multiverse...it's like a promised land... "Giving hope to people who wouldn't have had any, if they never had the chance for a meeting across worlds... that what I came out here in the first place for back then, wasn't it?" That quiet reminiscing is kept under her breath, before Hibiki looks to Magnolia and speaks up properly. "Mmn. I'll do my best. That still goes for you and yours too, Magnolia." |
