The bright cobalt star high above was pretty enough, in its own way... but a constant reminder of how chaotic Ariel's life had become in the few short weeks since her 'birth' had occured.

The construct was on the slope of the mountain now, standing there with her eyes to the sky, one hand shielding her brilliant topaz eyes. The jewels were unlikely to be damaged by the sight of that bright star, but they were not immune to glare.

Birds chirp around Ariel, one of them settling on her shoulder. Her horn still tingled, she realizes as she gives a tiny stroke under the beak. That attempt at a Wish had drained her, and she still felt a little ache from the failed flutter and spark that it had given her. Hopefully, that tiny little bit of magic she could push into it would be enough.

Still now word from her mechanical mother, was there?

Ariel closes her eyes and slumps, feeling that alien sensation of artificial tears trickling down her cheeks. This body... it was all new. She didn't know what sort of person her soul had really been, originally. Oh, she heard stories, had read, but she didn't really remember any of it. She did know one thing, though.

Her mother, her family, was away... for her sake. For Momma Lest's sake. Trying to kill the most powerful being in the Multiverse in a mission that would likely have her not coming home at all. To kill one of the very people she regarded as responsible for her birth.

What was she supposed to think about that?

Her eyes open again, lifting to that glaring cobalt star. In a whisper, she says the only thing she can in this situation.

"Come home soon, Mother."
