WMAT B2 Ariah vs. Lunessa
Date of Scene: 08 July 2014
Location: WMAT Arena - Northern Mountains
Synopsis: WMAT Ariah vs. Lunessa
Cast of Characters: 56, 368, 486

Raditz (486) has posed:
The WMAT Northern Mountains battleground is packed with audience, the ones that would dare to take the seats and be there live! Those who are not are watching from the TV in safety! But that's no fun, especially when you've got the King of All Saiyans doing live commentary in the area, grinning and waving to the cheers, and Raditz sits himself down, his arms folding across his chest, "Alrighty then, peoples of the Multiverse, are you ready for a fight! Let's get it on then!"

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Mountains and forests. Cliffs and ridges. Now this was the sort of environment Lunessa preferred for a hunt, much better choice in options when it comes to tactics. But if any of that was even going to come into play was to be seen.

A form can be seen moving rapidly amongst the trees before finally coming out of the forest, armor clad lupine actually running on all fours for speed.

Up until she reachs the point of the battleground, at which Lunessa makes a short jump to rise up and land on her back paws, skidding to a stop upright and humanoid. There's a puff of machinery from her back as her assault rifle is popped out of storage, landing in her hands, and she gives it an audible *CHA-CHNK* as it cocking it to start powering it up.

That there is some irony in that she is fighting another vampiric being, and a witch at that, is not lost on her. This should be interesting to say the least.

Ariah (56) has posed:
Much like she had for her first bout, Ariah comes into the arena (and the designated battlefield proper) draped in a white cloak. Her uniform is clearly visible underneath it and the hood covers most of her head. Gloves on hands, hands on staff, she purses her lips as she gazes up towards the crowd and the grav-platforms. No dramatic entrance, not even much of a word. The quiet Confederate steps from the treeline to take in her opponent.

"Major Armadia has no lack of talented and powerful compatriots to fight at her side," the witch says respectfully, bowing her head to the cyber-wolf. "I hope it is not a problem that I am compensating for the terrain by taking advantage of one of the tournament sponsors," she indicates a brand new Hyperion submachine gun hanging from a strap slung across her chest. The hi-tech firearm shines, white and yellow metal and polymer.
Then with one more glance towards the crowd, she favors her staff, respecting the results of the toss and gets in a defensive stance.

Raditz (486) has posed:
The King of All Saiyans watches as the pre-match tension builds up, and Raditz takes a few minutes to observe between the two, gauging their fighting spirit, before holding out the palm of his hand and gathering a bit of energy into his hand, "Ready... Set..." He winds up his arm and then tosses the ball of energy into the sky, where it explodes brightly.

"FIGHT!!!"

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Praise doesn't mean a lot to Lunessa, but that it's also directed to her commander and creator does get a faint flick out of her tail though. Rather her eyes go down to the firearm as it is briefly displayed, tactical database briefly flicking through numerous files to bring up schematics and other statistics.

Tesla may of ordered one of Jack's catalogs specifically for the purporse of giving her creations a reliable reference point. And it was a good way to give an ally business some support when you don't need to actuall purchase much of it's offerings.

It does bring a fang showing grin to the cyber-wolf's expression though. "Nice piece... Just hope you know how to use it!" She growls out a chuckle in amusement. This was going to be a lot more fun than fighting against a -spoon-. Don't ask.

There's the call to start. Reflexes twitch and her dash jets fire, boosting the lupine back a few meters to get a proper space between them. Immeadiately her rifle comes up to point in Ariah's direction. "Just be sure to make this interesting!~" It's not with the weapon's main barrel that she opens fire though, rather a pair of low energy shots spit from the two laser blasters incorperated in its sides.

Ariah (56) has posed:
Ariah is always respectful, even if she seems entirely cheerless. "I do," she answers simply. No bragging, no gusto. She seems guarded in more ways than one, runes on her staff lighting up slowly one by one as her Hyperion piece is scanned. As the rifle comes up, she steps back, eyes narrowing under the shade of her hood as she tries to discern the nature of it.

"I will do my best," she says simply and quietly, before the laser bolts come sailing her way. The runes on the staff flare, a half-sphere of energy rising up in front of her. The bolts hit it, the effect akin to glass fracturing, spiderwebs of damage forming in it as the witch's magical energy is drained. And yet, thin tendrils of blue-white draw out from the impact points, towards the staff and her hands.

Then she uncurls the fingers of one hand from her weapon, thrusting her palm towards Lunessa. A pair of golfball-sized spheres of that blue-white energy are conjured and launched, streaking and tracking towards the werewolf and exploding into concussive force when they get close enough.

Raditz (486) has posed:
And the commentary begins with Raditz grinning, "Ha! And there they go! The werewolf gets the first hit in! Didn't think they built rocket wolves, but Lunessa's moving fast! That's not stopping Ariah though! She's rushing right through and tossing magic around like a Witch!" Pause, "Oh wait... Whatever, I think she's nailed Lunessa spot on!"

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Lunessa doesn't stay still if she can help it. It's one of the things that sets her apart from Tesla's other 'lieutenant', as Shardcore is more the walking tank sort of construct. Dash jets fire again, this time propelling her back towards the vampire witch. Even as she's opening fire with her magic.

Needless to say she runs right into the attack, energy spheres exploding against her armor and rattling her form as fractures start to crease in the alloy plates.

But she comes barreling out of the resulting explosion even before the damage has had time to cool, hurtling right towards Ariah's personal space. Close quarters combat?

Involves swinging her rifle around the other way and trying to ram the butt end into the witch's body instead of shooting it.

Ariah (56) has posed:
If Ariah is surprised at the wolf charging, she doesn't show it. She might have experience fighting 'normal' werewolves, but she's learned not to judge anything in the multiverse at face value, and Lunessa's augments clearly make her no ordinary werewolf anyway!

When the wolf comes, she doesn't have her shield up. She takes the rifle to the midsection with a barely-audible grunt and rolls with the hit. She studies the wolf for any obvious weaknesses, noting the damage to her armor, but instead swings her staff low, looking to sweep the wolf off of her feet.

Raditz (486) has posed:
The commentary continues as Raditz calls out, "And now the girls are getting up close and personal! The exchange is all out. Most people can't see the action when it's going so fast, but when you can sense someone's energy, it's a whole lot easier to keep track. Right now Ariah and Lunessa are batting away with their weapons, testing their ranges and seeing who's going to go all in first... My bet is the wolf girl!"

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
The staff resounds loudly against Lunessa's shin. Normally this would be more likely to bust the staff in question striking against augmented limbs, but it is neither a normal weapon or a normal being using it. That, and Lunessa's legs are, other than cybernetic reinforcement and boosters, less heavily shielded than the rest of her body due to mobility needs. The sweep knocks her legs out from under her and she falls to the ground.

She takes the landing rough with a growl of aggitation, but manages to roll off of the jarring impact into a somersault past Ariah and up into a crouch.... and then takes off running in the opposite direction? Fleeing already?

No, wait, she doesn't seem like the type to be running away from a fight.

Might have something to do with the beep that shrills from by Ariah's feet, just before the small charge Lunessa dropped as she rolled past goes off in a small shockwave blast. That's more likely what she was rushing clear of, yes.

Ariah (56) has posed:
The witch readies for a follow-up strike when she's brought the wolf down, but her swing only finds air and frozen ground. She pulls her staff back when her opponent rolls and jumps. And runs? A brow is furrowed, her feet shifting to prepare for a counter-charge with those thrusters that never comes. Ariah looks down as her boots bump against something on the ground, right when she hears the beep.

Her foot moves, she kicks the mine but the timer is already up. As Ariah whirls to shield herself from the blast, it explodes and she's knocked into a nearby tree, the wind being knocked out of her in turn. She jams the end of her staff into the ground, pulling herself to her feet and shaking the snow off of her hood that had fallen from the branches above. Then she pulls her SMG up, the stock fitting into her shoulder as she looks through the sight, eyes narrowing.

It's a moment before she pulls the trigger, unloading a short burst towards Lunessa, encouraging her to keep running--or perhaps close the distance again.

Raditz (486) has posed:
Raditz cackles, "From right up close to putting the distance again, these girls are taking their time... That was a landmine right there, and some more bullets. I remember bullets. They tickle... Then again...." He shakes his head, "Moving on, I think they're about to take it up a notch!"

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Lunessa doesn't just run straight away, she veers off, then veers back again, trying to use the terrain to her advantage. But while Handsome Jack may be a huge douche, his company -does- make good arms, and the Hyperion gun chews it way through trees and scenery to bury several bullets into the cyber-wolf's armored hide with a well timed burst of fire.

Debris scatters beneath her heels as Lunessa skids to a stop again, a few bullet holes in her armor visibly smoking. She shifts her position towards Ariah, brings up her rifle again, and this time fires from the actual weapon itself with an audible thoom.

But the shot goes low. Or maybe it's intentionally low, as it slams into the ground right in front of the vampire, blasting up a shower of frozen rubble and rock splinters from the explosive impact, as much an attempt at obscuring her opponent's vision somewhat as it is to pelt her with the debris.

Despite her love of big guns and explosions Lunessa -does- know how to use tactics from time to time.

Ariah (56) has posed:
Ariah is a few things. Vampire. Mage. But she's also a soldier. The kick of the recoil with her supernatural strength is nothing, only the flash and report give her a minor bother with her enhanced senses. And whether by training or sheer confidence, she stands her ground when her opponent's rifle comes up again.

The white-haired witch keeps her focus through the sight, though, as that blast comes her way. The explosion of rock and dirt washes over... a shell. Her staff she'd plunged into the ground glows, the runes lightning up bright and the spread of debris makes the whole thing flicker and light up as pockmarks and cracks in what resembles a shimmering glass shell form in the surface.

Unfortunately for the crowd, Ariah has fallen back to instincts and training, disregarding any lingering idea of showmanship for tactics. She can't see for the cloud of dust and ice, even as her shield's surface becomes opaque and transparent again. So she braces herself against a tree, braces the SMG at her shoulder, and holds down the trigger, spraying towards Lunessa.

Raditz (486) has posed:
"And Ariah spots an opening! Lunessa's explosion hits nothing but air, leaving her open for Ariah to just fire away!" Raditz narrows his eyes a bit, "Still, it looks like they're still just trying to feel each other out, waiting for one of them to throw out a big move... We're all waiting for it, who's gonna take a chance first?"

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Bullets fly from the cloud, and even if Ariah can't see her shots she'd be able to hear the sound of them impacting against Lunessa once again. The audience on the other hand gets a nice view of part of a shoulder section getting blown off from the continual damages, and a fierce grimace from the bionic wolf woman.

'Testing' time was over. Time to get to the serious business.

The rifle is folded away to its storage on her back, and Lunessa rushes towards the debris cloud just as its settling. The first thing Ariah would see would be her charging lunging towards her, and the sparks of current crackling between her metallic fangs that attempt to chomp down on the vampire witch.

Ariah (56) has posed:
If there is a downside to fancy, well-made Hyperion weapons, it's the reload mechanism. Especially for someone with enhanced reflexes. The 'pop' of the magazine cradle is fast, as is Ariah ripping the empty out and jamming the new one in. But the time it takes in mere seconds for the carriage to auto-lower and lock back into place is an eternity for the quick sorceress.

She lets the weapon drop on its strap as she pulls herself to her feet and away from the tree, ripping her staff out of the ground. Just in time, too, the witch's vision filled with angry werewolf and lightning-charged teeth. She pulls back and to the side, the bite taking a few shreds of her sleeve and bringing a vibrant trickle of red from the woman's forearm as she stares down her skilled opponent. But more of those tiny threads of energy can be seen, a tiny draw of power from the electricity that makes her arm tingle.

Then both hands are on her staff, an upward swing aimed for the underside of Lunessa's jaw, magical energy charging and racing down the runes to augment the concussive impact with a burse of pure force.

Raditz (486) has posed:
"And it seems they've finally decided to get physical! We've got bites and w've got uppecuts! Lunessa's chomp was fast, but it looks like Ariah was able to keep her arm from being butten off! That staff blow though, that looked like it hurt! Seems Ariah might be getting the upper hand!" Raditz then says in a low tone, "Or -is- she?"

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
WHAM. Lunessa gets clocked upside the head with enough force to jar her loose from nomming on Ariah's shoulder farther, staggering sideways while her ears ring. This vampire was a much more effective foe than the half-blood was, to say the least. After a few steps she shakes her head to clear it, and focuses back on the fight. Grrr. That's some tough ground to make up at this point.

There's a click from her back, but it's not the rifle this time as a different compartment essentially drops open behind her, and she reachs back to grab the revealed hand and pull it free, a high-tech swordblade revealed as she does so. Looks like, after a few fights with Jedi and other melee specialist sorts, Tesla give the huntress a melee upgrade of her own.

"You're not the only one with new toys," Lunessa rumbles with a grin as she moves in and takes a swing at the vampire with the blade.

Ariah (56) has posed:
"Toys do not make the soldier," Ariah replies softly, driving her staff back downwards to intercept the blade as it comes. Surprisingly, she's not fast enough to blunt it entirely, the sword cuts into her side, shearing material better suited to absorbing magical attacks than physical ones. The blade's edge bites into her flesh, crimson blooming and soaking both sword and cloth as sparks fly when metal meets metal. She hisses through her teeth at the pain, but uses her staff to drive the blade away, red painting both the snow and her white cloak now.

"...but tools can make up for gaps in training or ability..." she adds, shifting her staff to being held in one hand, the other, now free, sending the palm towards Lunessa's torso armor. Another glow, another flash, and a -FWOOMP- as the same bone-crunching force those energy spheres had earlier is sent forth, only more concentrated, and at point-blank.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
The palm connects with the cyborg's breastplate, but in the split-seconds it takes the magic to go off Lunessa plants one foot and uses it to pivot away from the attack, only the fringes of the energy flare grazing her form as the concussive blast erupts past her.

"I'm a hunter," she replies with a growl, "but sometimes claws aren't big enough, and guns are too .... impersonal."

And the end of the turning movement Lunessa swings the sword again, this time aiming to clock her opponent with the flat side of the blade across the knees instead of chopping.

Ariah (56) has posed:
"Hunter to a vampire... part of me wonders if this match was set up on purpose..." The witch muses, pulling her arm back as quickly as she can, tendrils following as she tries to recoup some of the lingering mana from the missed attack. She has little time to keep musing, though, as she brings her staff down to soften the blow.

The slap of the blade hits her weapon more than her legs, but the sheer strength of the impact still staggers her. "I prefer magic, but I am at a disadvantage here in the cold," Ariah reveals, perhaps to her own detriment. But as she stumbles back a couple of steps, the wound on her side closing under the bloody cloth, she still seems capable.

Ariah takes advantage of her staff's reach, moving back another step, making it seem as if she's still off balance before she lunges, thrusting the end of her staff towards Lunessa's stomach.

Raditz (486) has posed:
"Oho! The girls are finally getting feisty! I guess it takes getting stabbed in the gut by a sword to really get angry. Been there. Ariah's couldn't fully block that blade, so I'm betting she's feeling pretty sore there, but she's not out of the fight yet! Lunessa's all stabby to the knee and to the everything at this point, and Ariah's throwing concossive blasts and straight on whacking her upside the gut with that stick. If the wolf girl lets her stay up, she's gonna get real clobbered!" Commentary at its finest.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Lunessa emits a sharp *HOOF* and staggers backwards as the staff is thrust straight into her midsection. And possibly some mental cursing at the way her armor is designed to, you know, not cover a lot of that. Then again, being a biomechanical cyborg, she doesn't necessarily have all the vulnerable bits and organs a flesh and blood werewolf would have there, either. Still, it hurt enough for her to gasp a few times while getting her bearings.

The sword is swept back behind her as she turns sideways. With the other arm she reachs down to her side briefly to pull a gun from the compartment that opens in her armored thigh, yanking it up with the draw to point it at Ariah and fire off one, two, three shots in quick succession.

Ariah (56) has posed:
As the impact strikes, Ariah pulls her staff back almost immediately after, once again going on the defensive. She keeps her distance, keeping her reach advantage from that sword, and again her staff glows. She pulses mana into it, eyes narrowing as she sees that compartment open and that pistol come out. A tinge of regret is felt as she's out of sword range but in perfect sidearm range.

Her staff flares, the runes shining and again that shield comes up. But the cold and the caliber don't help things, the first two slugs almost punching holes through it while the third shatters it completely. The shattering is literal as the shield dome breaks like glass, complete with the sound, albeit with a more mystical 'twinkle' accompanying it. Shards of solid mana cut into her clothes, the uniform's anti-magic threading keeping it together as the 'wind' blows her hood back, revealing wide violet-glowing eyes.

Eyes that look down at the hole in her chest that made her stagger back several feet. The third bullet sits right against her breastbone, thankfully not having pierced her heart, but blood once again blooms outward before the wound can close up. The witch plays her hand, pulling a hidden blade of her own. The silver, rune-etched saber is stored within her staff, and with the rest of the length in one hand and sword in the other, she drives forward and swings both. Staff to the gun-arm to knock it aside, blade thrust towards that midsection again.

Raditz (486) has posed:
"This fight is so even..." Raditz says, as he watches the ongoing brawl, "Lunessa's gunfire is on point, striking Ariah right in the chest a couple of times! Good thing she's a vampire, otherwise she'd really be in trouble... Ooo, staff turns into a blade on a stick! Classy and pointy! Stabby right to the gut it looks!"

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
The staff to the arm slaps the weapon aside before another shot can be fired off, knocking the blaster from her grip and sending it skittering across the frozen ground. Lunessa starts to bring the sword weilding arm back to bear on the fight in its place, but it proves to be a tactical mistake when Ariah goes low instead and thrusts a knife into her gut.

Not being your typical sterotype 'werewolf', silver in itself isn't super effective against her. But getting stabbed is still getting stabbed regardless of what the blade is tempered with. It actually gets a pained sounding yowl out of Lunessa as she draws herself back from the attack, a sizable cut in her stomach... well in her case its more like leaking than bleeding per say, but the effect is the same as some sort of viscious liquid drips from the wound.

Growling under her breath, Lunessa's ears splay back in an obviously aggitated look to anyone that knows a thing about canine body language as she regrips her sword in both hands and steadies herself. This time this a visible energy charge into the blade, causing its edges to begin glowing in a visible reddish hue. Followed by her lifting it up, stepping in and bringing it down in a powerful overhead strike. Though due to the rules of the tournament she's aiming to NOT hit Ariah in the chest directly again.

Ariah (56) has posed:
Ariah certainly isn't looking to kill, but she'll stay her hand when her opponent looks like she's ready to yield. And even with the dropped gun and leaking gut, it's clear that the witch's opponent isn't throwing in the towel just yet. The yowling and growling sparks no change in emotion or expression, though the sight of the sword charging makes her eyes narrow.

A sweep of a foot foward, a lift of her arm, and Ariah intercepts the heavy strike, feeling her bones rattling from the impact as she blocks it hard with her own blade. Sparks fly, magical energy 'dusting' off from the impact point. And that energy? Her runeblade -drinks- in it, symbols lighting up and light shining from under the magess' sleeves. She channels and processes the energy, the woman's body working as a mana conduit and transferring the stolen power into the staff in her other hand.

But instead of directing the power directly into Lunessa's body, she swings the staff hard towards the ground, the impact resounding like thunder as a shockwave bursts from it, the witch intending to not only crack bones and fracture armor, but send the wolf flying towards trees and rocks.

Raditz (486) has posed:
Raditz stares for a moment as they just dodge each others strikes, "And now they're once again on the move again, at this crucial stage where any attack can incapacitate you for the battle, the girls are being extra careful! One of them is gonna have to take that big risk if they want to win..." At least before calling out to the girls, "COME ON! Ace in the Hole time!"

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Going to strike the ground turns out to be a tactical mistake on Ariah's part. As soon as she sees the charging weapon go towards the ground instead of her directly Lunessa uses her mobility to -leap- over the attack, a dash jet double-jump somersaulting her over the vampire and landing a fair distance on the other side. Though the way that attack tore up the ground probably looked pretty boss to the audience one way or the other.

On the other side of her, Lunessa pulls a spheroid out of one of her armor compartments, thumbs the activator, and throws it back at her opponent.

Tesla did warn her that 'typical' vampire fighting methods, like fire, would probably not be the most effective on this powerful one.

But that's why it's not a standard firebomb she's throwing, but a intensity plasma explosive instead.

Ariah (56) has posed:
That's two for two with those area bursts that Ariah's failed at. She frowns, putting this into consideration. She whirls around to face her agile opponent, checking her feet for any mines or other nasty surprises. Then she advances, staff in one hand, blade in the other, still guarded.

Another hidden object, another hidden weapon. The witch braces and backs up, eyes widening as the plasma incendiary explodes. She can only pull up so much of a shield now with her strength ebbing from the exertion in the fight, and plasma or no, it's still -fire- of a variety. It licks and it bites and she bites back a wail of her own as she clutches her staff, energy barrier melting and her fingers looking very unhealthy.

Then those violet eyes flare, shining as bright as those blue-white runes. The witch digs her feet into the snow and charges, still trailing the glow of plasma, ignoring the intense burning sensation. WHen she's close enough, both weapons swing low, looking less to knock the wolf off of her feet and more to simply break her legs...

Raditz (486) has posed:
"If all else fails set it on fire. Never hurts except the one you're setting on fire! But is seems Ariah isn't in the mood for that! Because geez, she's going for the legs" Raditz watches and cringes, "Wow, that looked like it hurt... This is gonna be a doozy! Cyber Werewolf or Vampire Witch? Someone's gonna make it out on top!"

Raditz (486) has posed:
"If all else fails set it on fire. Never hurts except the one you're setting on fire! But is seems Ariah isn't in the mood for that! Because geez, she's going for the legs. Eesh, that looked like it hurt... This is gonna be a doozy! Cyber Werewolf or Vampire Witch? Someone's gonna make it out on top!"

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
You would think a war machine would go for a swift, effective kill. But Lunessa wasn't like that, wasn't made like that. The walking engine of destruction was Shardcore's lot. She was designed to be more like the predator she was based on, to thrive on the hunt and the challenge as much as any other aspect. It was not just destruction, but satisfaction in success or learning in defeat. A lethal edge that was constantly being reforged and resharpened, instead of just relying on destruction strengthes.

There is the sound of -something- breaking with the strikes this time, and Lunessa ending up on her back for the umpteenth time in this fight alone. Debatable on just how severe whatever broke is, because this time she doesn't get up.

But that doesn't mean she's out of the fight just yet regardless of the damage. She locks gazes with her opponent standing above her, and sparks can be seen crackling briefly from the corners of her mouth again. But no biting this time.

Instead she opens her mouth and it's a blast of crackling ionized energy that erupts from it like some sort of electrified scream.

Ariah (56) has posed:
Ariah doesn't rest on her laurels, not yet. She's brought the beast down, but down doesn't mean out. The witch secures her blade, sliding it and locking it back into her staff, grasping the metal shaft with both hands. Charred flesh sticks to the metal, her fingers blackened as the plasma-scorched meat struggles to heal.

And then the wolf opens her mouth. Hands grip weapon as the burst washes over her, partially into the staff but mostly into her. Thankfully it's not fire breath, but it's a small blessing as the burst scrambles her nerves and makes her hair stand on end. But it's power. It's more power. The cold isn't leeching as much as she's gleaning from the electrified blast, and where her uniform is ripped and burnt through on her arms, runes shine under her skin.

She forgoes any sort of 'shockwave' this time, and swings her staff towards Lunessa's head, looking to knock her out or at least stop the flow of electrobreath.

Raditz (486) has posed:
Raditz grins, "A breath attack! That's a classic right there! I've done it before, it's funny. Takes up a lot of energy though, but it looks like Ariah's sore for taking the hit. But I guess she's trying to make Lunessa pay via cracking her skull open or something.. Well, whacking her should do the trick eventually."

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
The blast comes to an end as Lunessa cuts off the attack in order to catch the staff in her mouth instead. She -is- a canine, after all. The blow still hits with enough force to slam her head back to the ground with a sickly sounding crunch. That clearly and audibly busted something open, and there's more of that not quite blood liquid puddling beneath her head. Likely a very savage injury even if being an augmented cyborg made it less that lethal

Metal fangs dig into the staff as she clenches her jaws shut, trying to hold onto it long enough to keep the vampire from yanking it free and moving away from her. By the sparks and crackling coming from it one of her legs is clearly busted up good. The other still works enough that she's able to clench it up and thrust her heel at Ariah's midsection. A kick? A kick. Desperation in a bad position? Maybe.

It's a kick with some extra oomph though, as at the point of impact she engages her dash jets as well. Fortunately for the vampire, they're pulse based instead of combustion. Though that just means it's a sudden burst of energy coming with the kick instead of flames.

Ariah (56) has posed:
The staff is caught, and the 'blood' is noticed. Ariah has some brief concern that she's gravely injured the wolf, especially with the way the tournament is set up... but those fears are allayed when she sees that jerk, that heel driving towards her middle. The witch pulls on her staff, and pushes herself -down- onto the rising foot. She takes it cleanly, and then rides it. Up and away.

The force of the kick sends her skyward by intention, and she still has all of that -power- she'd absorbed from Lunessa's breath. The witch's body is still glowing, the runes under her skin shining through the burnt bits, symbols etched in her bones, staff shining bright. And at the apex of that rise, she spreads her arms wide, staff in one hand. And bursts.

She doesn't so much explode in general as explode with missiles. Dozens. Every rune on her arms and staff spew forth those golfball-sized motes of energy, and down, down towards the fallen Lunessa do they streak. In a show of light and seekers that could make fans of space/mecha anime jealous, they saturate bombard the icy ground, each sphere exploding in bone-shaking force.

Then she falls, crashing into the snow, body smoking from the outpouring of energy, rapidly cooling as she breathes. Rather vulnerable in that state.

Raditz (486) has posed:
Raditz even spots it from afar, "And Lunessa leaves herself wide open!" His eyes keeping track of the fight, "If the rocket wolf was able to nail that kick, she'd be able to better respond, but that much momentum is gonna leave you wide open for the finish!" HE grits his teeth and winces as he watches the Icy missile storm wreack havoc, "Oooh! I think we have ourselves a winner!"

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
That... was not the sort of 'magic' she was expecting to come out of a witch. Lunessa was just getting her arms under herself to get up when her opponent pretty much EXPLODES into missile spam to extreme. With magic. And explosions. Lots of explosions.

Leaving little more than a smoking cyborg in middle of a smoking crater afterwards. Ooooow.

But she still got farther than Vendetta did, so she's still gonna be able to rub that in at least. When she's concious enough to do so.

Ariah (56) has posed:
Ariah is no stranger to destruction, and she rises not to a blade or a foot in the face, but to the devastation she'd wrought on the land and her opponent. She picks herself up, leaning on her staff, and takes a long, deep breath of the cold, bracing mountain air. She gives a deep, respectful bow to her fallen opponent, the Cyborg Wolf, and then turns slowly in place, looking up to the audience. A deep bow is given to them as well, the witch being a gracious winner.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
"Heehee. Wolfy fall down go BOOM." "Boom!" "Boom boom good!" That and a bunch of cackling accompanies the small pack of squat impish feline-like critters that scurry onto the field to extra Lunessa out of the crater. One of the gremlynx grab one of Lunessa's arms and flop it like a badly controlled puppet to give the vampire a ragdoll-esque salute. Then squeals as he gets smacked on the back of the head. "Stop that! Only suppose to mockingly play with DEAD corpses!" "Ehehehehehe--OW!" The cackling is cut off as he grabs the arm and slaps the joker with it. Then climbs up on top and points dramatically. "TO THE LAB!" The others hoist Lunessa up over their heads and march her off the field.

Raditz (486) has posed:
Raditz grins and sits back, "There you have it folks, your winner and moving onto the next round, Ariah! Whoever's up next against her is gonna have a rough time." he grins, "Well, that's all there is to it. This has been Raditz, King of All Saiyans, and I'm out to get me a turkey to eat..." With that, he stnds up and roars into flight, without another word.
