No more scratchy dresses, no boring music recitals, even more formal dinners with bland and boring food that they usually had each day to begin with.
Today there will be music, but music that actually sounds good. The food is hot out of the oven, with a large variety of pizzas for everybody, with diets taken into consideration, both vegetarian, stuff for people with various allergies should they have that, and a special sugar pizza that Toph had insisted that the chef had to make. After all, she considers this party to be more for her friends than for herself.
The main room of the Bar and Grill has been taken over it looks like, though it had been that way even before Toph herself had showed up early to make sure things were okay. Strange, the workers didn't say they would prepare the place, would they? There are plates set out across the tables along with plastic cups, on top of festive tablecloths. There are bowls of popcorn, chips and various candy spread all over so the guests can eat their fair share of candy and snacks throughout the evening. Silly string, balloons, streamers and banners hang all over the place, and even though Toph can't read the large letters painted on them, it should be pretty easy for the people who can see the giant letters spelling out 'happy birthday'. This is all kinda new and strange, but if this is what a party is supposed to be like...
What do you do at parties anyway? Oh well, her guests might let her know.
For now Toph Beifong is sitting at one of the tables, waiting for the first guests to arrive. For once, she's clean, and she's not wearing her usual clothes. Instead she's clad in some of the clothes Pepper had gotten her recently. An oversized lime top with a dark green fractured pattern on it, as well as tan cargo pants. Her hair is set up in its usual large hair bun, kept in place by a green hairband. Then there's the glove on her left hand that looks rather out of place. And a book with normal lettering that's resting in her lap as she slowly moves the fingers of her left hand over the letters, with soft whirring sounds coming from the glove itself. All in all she seems rather relaxed, albeit a bit focused as she waits.<br> <br>

Comes the voice of one Faruja Senra, as he walks into the Bar and Grill. There's a big grin on his muzzle. He's wearing his usual set of red robes, though for once, the hood is up! Stranger still, there's this odd lump at the top of his hood, beneath the cloth. Every now and then,it wiggles. The vibrations from the ratling may well show just slightly added weight atop his head. What /ever/ could it be up there? 

In his hands, there's what appears to be a card addressed to Toph in flowing script! What with that reading device of hers, at least now she can appreciate it! 

"Ye make a mage and scholar proud! Happy birthday!" Reeeach! After a glance around, Toph will come under attack by good natured hair-ruffling. Someone's in a good mood today. 

Then, he's gazing about, as he sets his card down on a nearby table. That weight shifts again, and the rat's hands go up. He hushes, reaching a finger in to rub at the moving lump. 

"Wonderful work upon the decorations! My, my, 'tis a celebration indeed! Remind me once the guests are about, hmm? Old tradition from home I would like ye to indulge this nezumi in."

There's an innocent whistle at the wonderings about decorations as Pinkie Pie pushes her Instant Decoration Party Cannon into the closet behind her with a push of her back hoof.

"This is going to be the bestest make up for all the missed birthday parties party -ever-." And then she's suddenly right there with Toph at the table, stretching out the band to stick a party hat on the earthbender. Then sits there with the biggest grin on her face.

What a surprise! Rebecca Chambers is here, but she's not wearing her usual S.T.A.R.S. attire today! Instead, she's dressed in a more casual, easygoing attire. It seems rather out of place for Rebecca, but she does have her casual side when she's off duty. Although for most people who know her, she's rarely off-duty it seems. When she's not in her research center, she's busy working as a Union elite operative. But given that it's a party, Rebecca's decided to look simple and casual.

Arriving at the bar after riding the subway to this spot (yes, apparently the Starting Nexus even has its own subway station!) Rebecca enters and looks around, nodding at the various decor and whatnot, before spotting Toph and smiling a little. "Hello Toph. Happy birthday," She says cheerfully.

Even though Altair had said earlier he wouldn't be able to make it to the party, the occasion is simply too important to the Grandmaster to prioritize his work over it. At the very least he has to show up to give a hug and a present to the birthday girl, he owes Toph that much. Still looking a bit roughed up from the other day, Altair enters the bar and grill dresses rather casually, not with his usual robes, but on civilian clothing. This also shows the numerous bandages he has on his arms and face, but eh, no big deal, preferable than to be a stick in the mud and arrive in 'work' clothes. 
 
He works /really hard/ to pretend he's not limping and walks towards Toph. On his hands he has modestly small birthday present.

:'''{{#var:127|Kirikou (127)}} has posed:'''<br><span></span>If Kilik should be worried that most of Toph's friends are technically enemies of his, well, that doesn't stop him. Toph's an enemy too, though not one he dislikes. A rival perhaps, and a friend who just happens to be firmly on the wrong side. If he were afraid just because she might be surrounded by people that don't like him, well, that wouldn't be much in the way of role-modeling. He'd never convince her that her side is wrong if she didn't respect him, and that includes his guts.

Of course that's not what he's been thinking of, coming here. Toph invited him, so of course he'd come. Thinking about sides and consequences is for people ruled by their head, not by their heart. Entering the party room, one Twin to each side and just behind him, Kilik grins a bright white toothy grin. "All right, I'm here now! Party can start!" he claims, not particularly serious with that claim. He makes his way over to Toph, seeing as there's few enough here that he's actually on good terms with, still grinning. "Happy birthday kiddo!" he says, holding out a wrapped present. By size and shape, it could be a book. By touch and weight though, it's got a hollowed-out side. A framed picture.

Connor has learned to navigate to the Bar and Grill so he should be fairly prompt, Toph told him about this a couple of days ago so he knows to go there.  But like Toph Connor had no idea what one did at a birthday party.  Or what one should wear to it.  It is a special occasion so he feels he ought to go with that in mind.  Except the most formal outfit he has is the one he wears on the Aquila.  And he really has no concept of 'formal' clothes in Toph's world.

So he arrives in that-- his Aquila uniform.  Minus the hat, the removal of his hair on the sides of his head is clear.  It will grow back but for the time being it is shaved into a strip down the center of his head, with the remainder in three braids that rest against the back of his neck.

He peeks into the Bar and Grill as if to make sure he has the right place, he can quickly see he does.  It also becomes clear that he has brought a gift!  Sure enough he is carrying a thin object in hand, wrapped in green wrapping paper.  He obviously did not wrap it, it is far too neat for that.

"... Somehow I am not surprised," Rarity mururs as the unicorn walks in just to see the place already decorated and Pinkie Pie already doling out party hats. Coif bobs a bit as she shakes her head a bit and trots over to the area everyone else is gathering in. "Hello dahlings. And happy birthday to the birthday girl."

"Awww yeah, paaarrttyy tiiimmmee!" There is a rainbow blur of colors speeding down from the ceiling that turns out to be a bright cyan pegasus pony with a rainbow colored mane and tail. A bit of streamers cling to some of the feathers of her wings as she dives down to the growing gathering around Toph. That explains how some of the higher up decorations got there.

Rainbow Dash doesn't even bother to a hover. She loops around the table a couple of times in excitement, "Happy Birthday Toph!" Not really watching where she's flying, Rainbow flies right through some streamers and confetti flying through the air. "Whoa!" And gets some right into her face. Unable to see where she's going, she ends up flying into a nearby wall instead. Whud! "Ugh," Rainbow groans, prying herself free. "It's cool, I'm okay!"

So it was the britday of a certain Earth Bender? Well now she'd have to come by and wish Toph well she even had something for Toph that she hoped she'd get a kick out of. What ever it is? It's wrapped and laying on the back of Maya's large mecha dog Runner who is waitint out side as Maya heads into the gril, now where to find Toph? It takes a few seconds to find them. Maya's weaing something that doesn't look out of place for late 20th or early 20th century earth. She loks like she could go clubbing from the looks of her. 

"Hey Toph!"

You know, he's never been much for parties that didn't involve drinking alone in the corner of some run down saloon in some dusty mining town, but Jericho decided to show up for Toph's party, because, well, she's been nothing but nice to him since he arrived in the Multiverse. More than he can say for a lot of folks.

He expertly ducks out of the way of the pegasus as she nearly crashes into him, as he makes his way over to Toph, "Hey kiddo. Happy birthday."



Tony Stark arrives. Fashionably late, hell, he practically invented the term. Not that it's really possible for him to be late to anything, since it's not a party until he arrives. He's dressed up a little from his usual hanging-around-the-house jeans and t-shirt, in sharp black trousers and black-and-silver patterned silk shirt.

He does not arrive alone, though. "Through here," Stark is instructing some people behind him, and even steps aside to hold the door as two young men sidle through it balancing a very large cake on a tray between them. It... looks like it's made of dirt. Actually, it's chocolate, with crushed oreo to give it texture, and here and there poke out hints of colorful gummi worms.

Stark looks around the room for a clear space for the cake to be deposited on. He supposes that unused pool table will do. "Over here," he takes charge again, and strides briskly ahead to clear the cue sticks. "Bruce, you got the ice cream?" As if he might have forgotten it in the car.




"Here comes the cake, here comes the cake~" Pinkie Pie is if nothing else good at random improvising as she *poing poing poings* over. "That looks all scrum-dilly-umptious! Well played, Mr. Metal Pants, well played." Where did she get silverwear amd a bib from all of a sudden?

But just before she can 'taste test' the cake she gets snared by a magically animated streamer and yanked away, landing at Rarity's hooves on her back with her legs wrapped above her. "Wow Rarity, those lassoing lessons from Applejack have been getting really good."

The unicorn just buffs a hoof to her chest. "I have picked up a useful trick or two from our friendship, I suppose."

"I got it!" Shortly behind the billionaire playboy, the scientst known as Doctor Banner enters carrying the ice cream. Bruce is dressed in his typical relaxed twill and blue button-down shirt. "Happy birthday, Toph." He utters cheerfully. He's got the standard birthday card and a small envelope. Casually, he eyes up the various pizza and makes his rounds. After putting the ice cream where instructed, starts to settle into a small niche as he typically does. As his always safety measure, he insures his trust wrist watch is monitoring his vitals.


A gummi worm might've been snatched up and devoured casually as Ezio strides into the bar, followed by two women, one his age and one who's already in her sixties, all three of them dressed extremely well. Ezio's got his best suit, while Maria and Claudia are in modern dresses, something casual for the occasion but still classy enough.

They've been brought up to speed on the whole Toph being an Assassin ally deal, but they're not going to single her out about it publicly anyways. So they're just here to see some of Ezio's new little friends, maybe grab a drink or two while on break from the whole deal in Rome.

"Awfully large turnout." Maria muses to herself, grabbing a seat. "Somehow I feel out of place with all the-" Suddenly she looks at the talking ponies. Including PInkie. "Never mind." She says, unphased completely.

Ezio meanwhile just wanders over to Toph, bowing his head and holding out a gift, a clothing box no less. "Happy Birthday, Toph. I figured the women who helped me get this deserved to meet you themselves." He offers a smile before motioning over to the others, "My mother, Maria, and Claudia, my sister." The ladies both bow their heads. "Ezio has already told us quite a bit about all of you, to varying degrees." Claudia says, giving a look at Connor for a moment, amused at the outfit. "Nice coat." She teases, sounding younger by a few decades before she adopts her usual poise.

They take seats, waiting for food to be passed around.

As Faruja speaks up, Toph blinks and raises her head slightly. "Oh, heya! I'm just catching up on lessons, I... have been a bit distracted and he insists that I catch up," Toph explains before she turns off the glove and closes the book after putting in a bookmark, reaching next to her to put the two items into her bag. "And thanks, I..." A slight yelp leaves Toph when her hair is ruffled. Oh well, at least she's getting somewhat used to it since several people she knows does it. As for the decorations? "I didn't do it, and the workers also say that--"
Toph's eyes widen in surprise when the pink pony is there next to her... and she has a party hat on her. Yes, it seems that there are a few select people or ponies who actually /can/ sneak up on the earthbending master. The grin can't be seen, but Toph blinks twice, looking a bit too surprised to actually take off her party hat. "Uh... hi?" Until Pinkie speaks, she won't recognize her.

It's easier to recognize them when they speak or when she's actually met them before. So when Rebecca speaks the blind girl turns her focus to the medic, raising a hand in greeting. "Heya Chambers! And thanks!"

And sure, Altair can /try/ to hide the fact that he's limping, but Toph decides not to mention anything, instead she raises a hand and waves. And makes a mental note to check up on him later.

There is one person who might just stand out a bit as he arrives, and Toph grins as Kilik walks up. "Heya Gloves! Kids!" The present is taken and then put under her arm before she punches Kilik slightly in the arm before she raises up both her hands for Fire and Thunder to highfive. Sure, they've fought and trash talked before, but would she really invite him if they weren't getting along at least somewhat?

And there's Connor. The Iroquois might be lurking near the door, but Toph blinks and waves him on in. "Come on, Tree Rat!" she says before she puts the gift from Kilik aside.
Even more ponies! Rarity earns a slight chuckle. "Thanks Rarity, nice you could make it." Do the ponies even like pizza, she wonders?
At least the third pony seems to be nearly as enthusiastic about the party as the first one, and Rainbow is given a grin as she zooms around... and then a wince as she crashes into a wall. 

Toph knows the pegasus pony is made of sturdier materials than to be defeated by a wall.

Man, there are really many people coming for this? She can't remember there being so many to any of her birthdays before. Maya's voice makes her look up, and she smiles. "Heya! Come on in, I think we're nearly everyone now!"

And sure, she might not have spent much time with Jericho before, mostly when she helped him out on his Sky Journey with the rest of the assassin allies, but Toph looks happy nonetheless that the cowboy has shown up. "Thanks! Just sit wherever, and..."

Whatever she was going to say is interrupted as more people arrive... carrying something big between them. And there's Tony. "What are you dragging in here, Goldie?" she asks as she looks towards her supervising officer. And then blink when he warns her about another person arriving.

And there he is. Bruce earns a big grin, it's not often the big guy comes out of his lab or whatever he is doing. "Heya! Man, at least we have enough stuff to eat..." Toph says. Seriously, with all the pizza, candy, cake and ice cream, they are going to be stuffed.

With all of the people here she doesn't notice Ezio and his family members until they are close, and she turns her head slightly, offering the Italian assassin a smirk. "Thanks." Maria and Claudia earn a polite nod too as she reaches out to take the box. What's this? For now she will concentrate more on the words. "Well, I'm surprised you aren't running for the hills then!" she jokes with a cheeky grin on her face. Most people who hear about her usually don't get told that she's a gentle person, after all! At least that's not what she wants to be known for. The box is set aside with the other presents she has been handed so far, then the blind girl clears her throat, speaking up as loudly as she can.

"OKAY DUNDERHEADS!" Hey, she is saying it in a loving way at least. "Go grab yourselves some pizza from the counter, they are marked so you can know what is what, there's soda and iced tea over on that table over there," she continues and points towards the drink table, "And be sure to grab some cake and ice cream too so Goldie and Banner didn't pull it here to waste away. DIG IN!"

With that, Toph will head on over to grab herself some pizza and then sit down where she was sitting before.

Toph's calling Connor into the room works easily and he approaches the party.  He nods in greeting to her.  "Happy birthday, Toph," he offers with a smile.  He always looks threatening when he frowns or scowls.  But he just ends up looking doofy when he smiles!  He will place his present to Toph with the others that were brought and likely placed somewhere.

Connor also nods respectfully to Maria and Claudia as Ezio introduces them.  He has met Claudia at least.  He tilts his head at the tone of Claudia's voice, he seems a little confused by it.  But it is a compliment so he returns, "Thank you... Signorina."  What's this?!  Connor speaking Italian?  His pronounciation is closer to an Iroquois word than an Italian word but it is still understandable.

Suddenly, Faruja has a party hat atop his robe's cowl. It ends up on the little wiggly lump. It wiggles, and Faruja manages to shush a distinctly cute sound. To those who have been around him a few times? It may sound vaguely familiar. 

No present yet from Faruja, though he's still grinning. "Hail, Lady Dash!" He remembers that pony! "Ser Kenway, Ser Altair, Ser Hawke! Ahh, methinks Toph shall never lack for friends and allies! Hail, Ser Stark!" 

Kilik isn't at all known to the rat. He gets a polite smile. When Maya enters, the rat throws a salute. "Maya! My, my, my, so many well wishers!" Really, the rat looks pleased as punch. Speaking of, he's off to get some of that very same drink. Which he swiftly adds vodka to. Not to the entire thing, just his own portion. No spiking the punch! (Yet). 

Oh, ponies. They're silly. Faruja can't help but laugh, even as he stares at that cake. Sniff sniff. It smells /good/! The rat doesn't waste too much time, though the wiggling ball on his head seems to stop him. 

Sigh. "Alright, alright...'twas going to be a surprise, ye little knave!" Chides the rat to the ball. Putting down his hood? There's a chocobo. A tiny chocobo chick. 

"Kweh! Kweh!" Faruja smiles. "There we are, little one. Off to thine new owner!" The little chocobo jumps and flaps to Faruja's hand, as the rat offers the little 'bo over to Toph. 

"Every warrior needs a mount. Raise her well, and she shall be a constant companion. Remind me after the party, and I shalt be sure to tell ye all ye need to know about raising chocobos. What shall be her name, hmm?" The Chocobo, should Toph let her, will land upon her head! Kweh! 

Seems, though, that the chocobo is slightly irritated by all the noise. "Kweh!" It flaps its wings in the air. A very tiny rock suddenly falls, little more than a pebble, right onto Faruja's head! Bop! 

Faruja rubs his head as he goes to get some food! Punch, ice cream, and cake! Faruja digs right in, getting faces to names and eating before starting to work the crowd like a proper party guest.

And in case anyone was wondering, yes: the chocobo chick's feathers are red.

"You're welcome, Toph," Rebecca says with a grin, before going to check out the various foodstuffs available. "I really should get out more often," Rebecca comments to herself as she gets herself a couple of slices of pizza. "I haven't had pizza since I don't know when!" She then gets a soda to balance things out.

Maya says "I think it looks like this quite the packed party." 

There's sure a whole of people arriving and then? Tony brings the best choice of cake that is possible. She grins a bit at it but for now she'l save her gift for a bit she does hope Toph will get a kick out of it. 

She takes notice to Faruja and smirks a little bit. 

"Good tio see you and yes Toph's good wat makign friends what can I say?" 

Maya's now going to look for some Pizza, oh she seriously does love this stuff.

Firstly and foremost. 
 
Altair's gaze zeroes in on Kilik like a laser, regarding the kid, and those markings on his face, with an arched eyebrow for a moment or two. The evil eye is a fleeting motion and he is soon sliding in closer to Toph and the rest of the Assassins and their families. Ezio deciding to bring his family is also noticed, though keeping up with his usual personality, Altair says nothing about that. 
 
The rest of the people, and ponies, arriving are given nods and greetings as they are required, but his intention and focus remain on the birthday girl. 
 
"Kul 'am wa antum bekheir." <Happy Birthday> says Altair and slides Toph the small present he got her. 


For the record Ponies do indeed like pizza. As long as it's vegetarian, four cheese, or something like that. Thankfully being the hangout of hangouts in the Multiverse that gets people from everywhere, there's plenty of vegetarian to go around.

After making sure Pinkie Pie doesn't try to pull the 'leave the slice and eat everything else' gag Rarity collects a plate for herself, suspended in her magical grip as she goes along. "Mmmm... Are you sure these toppings are fresh? It would be a horrible faux paus to serve anything less than for such a gathering."

The clerk just gives the fussy unicorn a bit of a glare and shuffles farther down the table.

"Well no tip for him," Rarity mutters under her breath... which is probably not true, as she's likely to leave a rather sizable one in general just for the place having to deal with Pinkie Pie's party antics. Speaking of.. "Where did she go now?"

Soda, check... water, check... tea, check..." Followed by an audible thump as the pink wonder pulls what looks like a traditional wooden keg barrel out of her mane. Just don't ask. It's what Pinkie Pie does. "Fresh Apple Acres Apple Cide, check. -Now- this is a party!

"Ah, ah!" Tony cries out warningly at anyone who tries to approach the cake. "Not until she's blown the candles out. This is her first birthday cake and she's gonna do it properly," he declares. And then the billionaire proceeds to produce a set of cheap supermarket birthday candles from his pocket, and plant thirteen of them in a circular pattern on the top tier of the magnificent pastry. He does not light them yet; that's for later. He steps back, observes his handiwork, and seems pleased because he gives a short nod and then turns to tip the caterers who helped him carry it in with a couple of Benjamins. "Thanks fellas. Hey grab some pizza on your way out if you want. Looks like there's plenty."

Tony himself grabs the biggest, meltiest cheesiest piece of pepperoni pie he can find, and a coke, and then sidles up to one of the establishment employees to see if she can add some rum to it for him, tousling Toph's hair with a twiddle of his fingers in passing.

Altair adds, "Feel free to open it right now." 



Maria, Claudia, and Ezio are all ironically the ones most hesitant about pizza. They stare at it, trying to figure out if they ought to have known about it before or not. "...should we just take a piece or two?" Maria wonders, before shrugging a shoulder the minute Claudia decides to be brave, rolling her eyes at her mother and brother while snagging a few plates, silverware, and two slices apiece. "You two are unbelievable sometimes, like stray hounds." A sigh, and she digs in after motioning Connor to sit with them with a friendly smile.

Yeah, they're eating pizza with knives and forks. The ladies anyways, Ezio's a bit better versed in modern traditions from his travels and snags a slice, chewing thoughtfully, "Not bad." He says, before taking a bigger bite.

Maria snags up a sliced portion of her piece, looking around. "So many people from so many other worlds, how interesting. I wonder, how must have been to 'unify' I believe the term is?" She asks curiously, then takes a bite herself, all classy like.

The talking ponies get a look, before the three exchange a shrug. "Multiverse?" "Multiverse. I believe they are of Equestria, I know the white coated one is Signora Rarity, a tailor of some renown in her world if I am correct." Ezio shrugs between bites of pizza.

Though he doesn't really recognize Toph's arm-punch as a significant gesture, Kilik's the sort of guy who catches on to such things quickly. He high fives, brofists, daps, manhandshakes, whatever is called for at a given time. Toph's little punch gets an immediate counter, a quick and solid jab to her sleeve that's controlled enough that it still wouldn't cause bruises to the arm of someone ordinary let alone Toph. The Twins high-five alertly and silently, peering up at the earthbender. And then, when she tells them to get food and ice cream, immediately throw their little hands up into the air and run around madly, mouths open, waving their hands in some bizarre quiet celebration.

Kilik blinks and shrugs. "You should open the present while people are here. It's supposed to be shared, ki... hm. You're 13 now. I can't call you kiddo any more, can I?" he smirks. Never mind he's only about a year older than her. It's a BIG year. "Anyone know a nickname I can call Toph?" he asks, raising his voice to the crowd.

Kilik does take note of the others. Faruja, the three Ponies, Tony Stark and Altair in particular. He doesn't seem unfriendly, not to anyone present that he's seen so far. Cheerful, maybe teasing Toph somewhat, but not unpleasant. The only one spared that general good-natured look is Altair, who earns a somewhat troubled look.

Kilik's gift, should Toph decide to open it, IS a framed picture. "Keep your glove handy there. There's a bit of writing across the top. I have no idea how you can see the picture though. You'll have to ask everyone else if they like it." the boy says. When she DOES open it, well, it's a caricature of her. It's quite good really, instantly recognizable as Toph with her hair, expression, and usual clothes, and an aggressive battle stance. It has extremely exaggerated muscles however. Not like bodybuilder huge, like comic superhero huge. Enough so that the figure of cartoon Toph is about as wide as it is tall. Across the top is written the legend, 'World's Greatest Earthbender'.

Hey, it's not like Kilik had more than a day's warning to shop for an appropriate gift! He had to go with something simple! For now though, he departs from Toph's side to make his way over to the Twins and towards the food. And incidentally, towards Assassins.

Bruce has to chuckle at the 'enough food' comment. Though, he cannot help divert his gaze toward the pizza and the cake....mostly the pizza. He quietly mills around the crowd, catching up with those he's met thus far, and introducing himself to those that approach him. Considering he's not invited the Other Guy, he slips easily into the crowd, his hand slyly reaching out and snatching 2 pieces of pizza. At least he's on 'regular appetite mode'.

"This is a wonderful party, Toph. You've had a really good turn out, and the pizza is quite delicious." He smiles. "Remind me to take you and Tony sometime out for pizza. I know if a nice little place over near the college I used to work at."

Tony makes what could best be described as a feminine wriggle. "Ooh, I'm so excited! I hope you don't take advantage of me you cad."



"So Toph.." Jericho says, as he makes his way over towards her with a box, "Listen, I know you're able to shape metal and stuff, so I figured I'd get you some metal to reshape, let you make it into whatever you want."

He hands her the box, which is wrapped in a rather plain looking brown paper. Toph would be able to feel the hefty chunk of gold within the box.<br><br>

At least the room is very open and with several tables put together so it shouldn't be too hard to talk with everybody since she has taken a seat in the middle of it all.

Though when Faruja walks over, she turns her head. Oh, right, he had something under his hood... is that what he's holding out? Wait... a /mount/? Toph didn't expect such a gift, or any gifts at all when she first planned this party, but she is rather curious. And she looks rather silly when the little chocobo chick decides to land on her head next to her party hat. Reaching a hand up, the blind girl blinks. "Oh, is this one of those birds you brought to New York when we fought King Dunderhead?" she inquires. And then the confirmation comes as Faruja gets that little pebble straight to the head. "HAH! Sweet!" she grins. Who can forget the chaos the large pack of these things caused? As for a name? "Nugget it is!"

Indeed, Maya is right. She didn't expect so many people would show up, but now she's glad she got enough pizza for all. But to hear that Maya thinks that she's good at making friends? No comment about that one.

Oh right. Altair doesn't like Kilik. As he delivers his birthday greetings and the present she reaches out and punches him lightly in the arm. "Relax. Gloves and the kids aren't here for the bad sort of party." Lighten up! It's not like he would do anything here on neutral ground anyway! "And thanks," she adds with a smile, then blinks. Open it now? "Okay!" So she puts the pizza slice in her mouth before ripping off the wrapping paper... revealing a golden necklace knuckle duster. Curiously she runs her fingers over it. "What's this...? Jewelry?" Maybe some of the seeing people can explain this to her, because she does not recognize the shape of the item.

"They made the pizza not long before you guys arrived, so it's fresh enough, Rarity!" Toph calls out with her mouth full of pizza as the unicorn fusses over the food. And huh, what is Pinkie dragging out? Apple cider? Oh yeah, she will have to grab a glass of that later.

The food in her mouth is swallowed, and Toph turns her attention towards Tony. Candles? Oh well, she'll have to ask later. Either way, he will have no problem getting some rum in his Coke. And Toph? She can't help but roll her eyes slightly when her hair is tousled. Party hats, chocobos... yes, her hair has become a massive nest today.

The Auditores seem hesitant about the pizza, though Toph is glad that at least Maria seems courageous enough. "Just eat all you want! It's not going to disappear by itself!"

Man, Fire and Thunder are adorable... she can appreciate the little runts who are even younger than she is. And Kilik does have a point... so while she is eating, Toph pulls out his gift and nods. "You can call me kid if you want, doesn't bother me," she shrugs. Heh, let them work out a nickname. Either way, she unwraps the gift, blinking as her fingers run over it. "I will have to read it later... bit messy with the pizza..." But she does hold up the frame for everybody to see. "Should I punch him or not?" Oh yes, she is grinning.

Bruce's comment about the party does indeed make her smile as she continues wolfing down her pizza. "Yeah, didn't expect so many people! And sure, I always appreciate food. Maybe we could do that after one of my lessons someday... and hey, you got more than enough money, Goldie!" she calls out to Tony. Oh yes, the banter between the two guys is amusing to listen to. At least Tony doesn't take himself too serious.

Another gift? Toph accepts the box from Jericho and gives him a thankful nod. "Yeah, metal is awesome, though I still need to train on it. I still can't bend it like I can do with earth," she says, setting down her slice so she can open the box. As her fingers run over the metal inside, she blinks. It's not like she has worked much with gold before... and she grins. "Thanks! Man... this feels a bit different from the other metals..." Better wait with bending it for later though!<br><br>



Rarity's ears perk up a bit when she hears a reference to herself by a rather smooth and cultured voice. She turns in the direction of Ezio and Co and waves politely in return. Once she's finally selected a slice of vegetarian pizza and drink for herself she walks towards them, food suspended in her magic so it's not in the way when she bows her head politly. "Sir, madams, hello."

The entrance of the King of Knights was her standard quiet, unassuming entrance in spite of her past rank. It was not as if it mattered beyond being accorded the proper respect among Servants. With friends, however, it didn't matter. 

Still, she was never able to shed how she carried herself, with the quiet dignity she had been trained in her entire life. Once more in the black three-piece suit and tie with a grey shirt, and her pale hair pulled back into a low ponytail, she could easily be mistaken for a pretty young man. 

Despite her composure, she couldn't help but feel slightly awkward; she hadn't know Toph for very long. In fact, she had only just met her during the Assassins' campaign against the Templars. But it was only polite, given the circumstances, going so far as to find what seemed like an appropriate gift. Sakura might have helped with that.

Connor's his gift to Toph is a CD of Iroquois chants and the like.  She seemed to like his drumming when they had to calm the badgermoles so he thought she would like to hear the music his people make.  He will present the wrapped gift to her when he has the opportunity!

He also offers a nod to Claudia when she motions him over-- he will head over there after he presents his gift to Toph.

Then, he just nods, and smiles. "Enjoy thyself today, Toph, ye art only thirteen once!" With that, he's off to carouse. 

His first target? Ezio and his family. Approaching, he offers a bow to the trio. "Ahh, I do hope I am not interrupting, fair Dames and honored Sers! Temple Wizard Faruja Senra, at thine service! 'tis an utmost honor to meet the family of the honored Ser. Might this humble knight hath the honor of thine names?" He offers to the group at large politely and formally. Should either the women allow it, he'll even kneel and kiss their palms like a proper gentleman! Hopefully they're not scared of rats. 

Then, standing, he smiles. "Ser Auditore, Ser Kenway, I am glad ye both came; 'tis enough to warm the heart, to know so many love Toph so. Shall I get any of ye anything?" 

Ear-perk. Kilik gets another look briefly. Seems like a nice enough young man! The mention of 'Confederate' has him raising a brow slightly, but then he shrugs. Neutral ground, /and/ he's behaving himself. He knows all too well that not all Confederates are so morally bankrupt. He makes a mental note to shift his way some time during the party.

Tony meanders over to get a better look at the chocobo chick. "That is not living in my house," he lays down the law right away, though it loses some of its gravitas being spoken through a mouthful of pizza. He's just imagining his poor cat being terrorized. To say nothing of his girlfriend. "Is it gonna fly when it gets bigger? Do I get to give you flying lessons now?"

Connor's gift is taken, and heck... since she is on a roll. "Thanks, Tree Rat." Hmmm, this one is flat... But she unwraps it and then runs her fingers over it, a curious look on her face. "What's this?" The music she has gotten so far has all been digital.

Dame Nugget... heh. Toph can't help but grin at that, reaching her hand up again to the little chocobo to pat it slightly on the head. At least it's a fair bit smaller than the large ones! But well, it will become just as large as an ostrich horse most likely. Better ask Faruja later for some tips since she doesn't know much about most creatures...

Of course Tony has to say something, and Toph arches an eyebrow. "Hey, if Pepper doesn't allow you to bring a badgermole home, why would I put Nugget there? I think there should be room for her at Njorun anyway," the blind girl responds calmly while she eats her pizza. Then halts, her eyes narrowing. "If you try that, I /will/ bend your suit again." No. No flying lessons. That one time was bad enough!

Kilik makes his way over to the pizza first, scooping up several pieces and, barbarian that he is, doesn't bother with a plate or anything. He flips pieces over pieces, ending up holding the crusts of what appears to be a turnover pizza sandwich in each hand. In true ambidextrous fashion, he takes a bite of first one pair, then the other.

Kilik glances past Saber as she comes in. He's actually no stranger to girls dressing up in formal menswear for a party, but he doesn't recognize her right away. While he's far from clueless, he's not always the most observant either. A shame, as he'd definitely appreciated her attitude towards fighting when they'd recently crossed weapons.

Once he is double-armed with pizza, Kilik waves the slices at the Twins, summoning them in hand (so to speak). They trot over obediently, both their mouths already suspiciously smeared with what looks like dirt, holding a piece of pizza each. Gathering his 'family, Kilik advances on the assassin contingent and those around them. He's neutral enough, a bit tense perhaps but not maintaining an aggressive bearing. Kilik holds up the back of his pizza-bearing fist to Connor, the one member of the Assassins he has reason to appreciate, grinning and inviting a forearm tap of respect.

The concept of 'fashionable lateness' entered the social lexicon sometime while Steve Rogers was frozen in the Arctic, and it's one of those many things that he hasn't really caught up with. Still, big social gatherings have always been a thing - certainly since well before Rogers was *born* originally - and as such, arrival 'windows' rather than specific times are something that he *is* familiar with.

Kind of.

It's not like young Steve tended to be invited to those kinds of parties, either.

But this is one party he wasn't going to pass up, and as such, Steve Rogers walks into the Bar and Grill with a rather large, flat package tucked under his left arm. Stark might recognize the shape of the package, given his contribution to its contents - but rather than drawing attention to what he's carrying, Steve just waves with his free arm. "Evening, everyone - and happy birthday, Toph!"

Pointedly ignoring the display Tony gives, Rarity and Faruja both get a bow of Ezio's head, and his mother and sister nods to her as well. "Buon giorno, signora, signore. My son has already spoke a bit about both of your works before, quite highly I must admit from what he's seen." Maria says politely enough. "Hopefully my son's stayed out of trouble for the most part, I'd hate to see if he's been misbehaving, you should've seen him back when he was still just a boy, especially when adolescence came about."

She'll be getting the most embarrassed deathlook from Ezio as he makes a motion along his neck for her to stop. She takes the hint, chuckling as she musses up her son's hair. "Oh, stop it. You're well into adulthood, yes, but let an old woman have her fun time to time." Not helping, mom. :| To her credit, she does stop for real as serioustime returns.

"I suppose it would not hurt to ask for some wine if the bar has any, red if it is available. Ezio, Claudia?" Maria asks her children.

Claudia shrugs, "I'll take what she's having." SHe says before giving Connor a smile. "Ezio tells me you and him have been busy, shame he never lets me out of the house sometimes." She chides her brother indirectly, albeit playfully between bites of pizza. "In seriousness, I hope you've been keeping Ezio safe.

Rebecca has already set down her present, and is now sitting eating pizza. She's looking around for anyone she recognizes, although most are just faces she's encountered while travelling through the Union facilities. If someone recognizes her, hopefully they'll come say something to her.

Jericho Hawke has never had the pleasure of trying 'pizza' before. He grabs a peice of it and looks t it a bit, curiously. He watches some of the others eat it to figure out the right way to do it, and then takes a bite.

He stares at the pizza after he takes that bite. This is possibly the greatest non-alcholic thing he has ever tasted in his life.

"Cap!" Oh yes, the Avenger earns a bright smile when he calls out and waves. Toph even turns her attention from Tony's silly joke that isn't really a joke in her opinion, and raises her arm to wave. "Got late punching more dunderheads, or what?" Then she points at the pizza. "You better like pizza, because they slaved over these for hours!"

Oh, another present! The gift from Rebecca is taken as she shakes it slightly, then begins unwrapping it. This... is actually lots of fun. And far better than the gift she got from her parents. Which was usually a new scratchy dress.

"Nugget could be stabled at Alamut," Connor offers as Tony forbids the animal from living in his house.  "Auron has a chocobo there.  They do seem to grow ... quite big."  That being an understatement.  Then he answers Toph's question, "It is a CD with music from my people on it."  He knows this because he totally bought one for himself too.  "I could not bring their music to you any other way."

Claudia's mention of them having been busy gets a nod form Connor.  "Ezio helped me with some ... trouble in my world.  "I am thankful for his help, I do not know if I could have handled it alone.  It is partly thanks to him that things are back to normal there."  His tone tells that he really is very thankful for Ezio's assistance, he even raises his and will try to go pat Ezio on the shoulder when he looks all >.<

Rarity ahehehes, maintaining a polite smile as Ezio's mother is, well, a mother. She can totally sympathize, knowing her own mother would do much the same thing. "Oh I am sure such a fine young man would not get into trouble needlessly." Though her sympathetic look goes to Ezio for a moment instead. Then after setting her food on the table she stands up head high and proud as she puts a hoof to her chest. "But yes, I am Rarity, the finest fashion designer in Ponyville."

Pinkie Pie leans in from the side to press up next to the unicorn. "She's the -only- fashion designer in Ponyville."

Rarity half-lids her eyes at the pink pony for a moment. "Well, yes." And semi-politly shoves Pinkie Pie aside again. "Don't you have a party to attend to?" Recomposes herself. "But I have design contracts with several high level trend setters across Equestria. True, I could easily of aquired a shop in Manehatten, or Trottingham... but Ponyville is my home and it would do ill to just leave my home and heritage behind."

Saber was a little surprised that there were a few Confederates, though it wouldn't be the first time she was in such mixed company. She recognised the young man she'd fought not too long ago; the knight held no grudges, it really hadn't been that much different from her duel with Lancer so many years ago. And given the lack of hostilities, she wasn't terribly concerned. 

But she did have a "mission" to complete, and so she approached Toph, bowing with one arm behind her back and the other in front with the flat, rectangular gift tucked into it. "Good evening, Lady Toph. It is my hope that you are having a joyous birthday," the only marginally taller young woman greeted before straightening and presenting her gift.

There is, in fact, an entire manual on chocobo raising in the mail to Toph. The rat's ear perks up at Tony's refusal of the chocobo. 

Faruja's about to say something, before Connor neatly solves the issue. "Yes, quite! They were originally from desert areas, where the sand was of a deep shade of red. 'Tis where they developed their natural ability to summon Meteors." Ivalice can be weird. 

Faruja offers a bashful look to the ladies. "Ahh, but thine honored son doth far too much honor to this humble knight! I am but a servant of the Lord, and friend to any good soul." 

Wine you say? Faruja bows once more, and is off to acquire some for the women. Only after he's gotten them glasses, wine, and poured in order of seniority does he then excuse himself in favor of the odd Confederate...and his gift. 

Leeeean. Faruja peers at the picture. Whistling, he smiles. "My, my, my! What fanciful artistry! 'Tis...utterly fitting of Toph, and yet, it evokes a lighthearted tone!" Like any good Burmecian, he's an art snob. 

And with that, he's off to the gifter. Approaching Kilik, he offers a bow. "Hail to ye, Ser! Temple Wizard Faruja Senra of the Most Holy Church of Saint Ajora Glabados, and Ambassador to the Union. Well met! Ye art a friend of Toph's, honored Ser?" Formal, this rat.

Maya says "You do need to work on the nick names and your right about that with the party." 

Maya will take the punch form Faruja and start to sip at it btween pizza slices. What you don't think all of her magical powers come out of nowhere? Okay maybe not that bad but she does keep on the move alot so yes, pizza is wonderful.


Kilik makes a face when Faruja approaches him and gives him the fanatarat spiel. Nothing personal or anything, he's just had his fill of zealotry. It's not Faruja's fault though, so Kilik plays nice. "Temple wizard huh? Call me Kilik. Yeah, I guess you could say Toph n' me are friends. We shared a hospital ward after our first fight and ended up stealing candy together." he grins playfully. "Glad you liked the picture. I had a professional do it. It was either that or let Fire and Thunder give it a try, and I didn't think they'd appreciate it..."

Gumpzio as it stands seems to appreciate the pat. "Ratonhnhake:ton has been a valued asset to us, si." He nods, mussing up the brave's hair a little. "You didn't tell me you owned a uniform for ship captaining. I suppose it makes sense, and you do wear it well enough." He admits, grinning a little before sliding over his plate where another slice of pizza is available for the Mohawk.

Cap and Saber get a reverent nod from the Mentore, "Rogers, Madonna Saber." He greets politely enough, saluting them both before taking a bite of pizza. "Glad you could both make it. I suppose I ought to introduce some more people to you both. This is Captain Steve Rogers, and Madonna Saber, both friends who have been assisting the 'order' more than I can repay them both."

While masterfully juggling conversations, Maria nods to them both. "Maria Auditore, Ezio's mother. Charmed, I'm sure." She greets them both, Italian beyond classy as the translation effect has assisted her as she nods back to Faruja when he arrives with wine for her and Claudia. "Grazie, Father Faruja." She says, taking the glass.

"Thank you." Claudia beams a bit at the Burmecian as well, and she nods to Steve and Saber. "I'm up to speed thanks to my position as record keeper, but it's good to meet you both in person all the same. My brother speaks highly enough of you both as well. Seems he's been making some very interesting friends around the 'multiverse' as it were.

"Can't blame a guy for trying," Tony remarks, and plops himself into an empty chair at a nearby table to pay proper attention to his pizza and mostly-rum (and coke). Also being something of an art snob though -- or at least he spends millions on the most extravagant pieces Pepper can find for him -- he cranes his neck a little curiously to see the picture, too. It's probably not as awesome as the one he helped-- well, he'll let Steve reveal that one.

At Alamut, huh? Toph blinks, then nods. "Sure, why not?" That would give her a reason to visit that place often. "Then you could get some friends too, Nugget!" she says, using one index finger to stroke the small chick's head as it seems to get comfortable in Toph's hair. And the explanation of the gift from Connor? "Oh!" Music is something she likes. "So... how do you use this?" she asks, turning it slightly over. Tell her your secrets, mysterious flat object!

And then Saber presents her with a gift! Toph barely has time to eat now it seems as the presents are more interesting. "Thanks!" More paper is torn off and joins the growing pile behind her chair, and she nods at Saber. "Yup, it's awesome so far!" she says with a sincere grin. Now what did Saber get her?

Sure, she is aware that they are talking about fashion at the other table, but let them talk. It's not like she has much to contribute on that topic.

Then Faruja sees it fit to comment on the caricature. "What is it?" she asks, looking slightly curious. So it looks good and fits her? When she notices Tony leaning forward she turns the frame towards him so he can take a closer look. As for the comments between Faruja and Kilik...? "You forgot to mention how I totally kicked your ass!" she offers helpfully. "Twice!"

Rogers nods in return to Ezio and Claudia, waves to a few other people, and glances over at the pizza. "It smells delicious, I'm sure it'll taste just as good ... there a good place for me to put this?" he asks, untucking the package from under his arm and holding it up briefly. "It's a bit on the heavy side, I don't want to crush anything ..."




Tony has to stifle a snort when he gets a good look at the picture. "It's, um," he tries to be helpful. "It's a very stylised representation of you. You look like one of those giant earthbenders from the tournament. Very badass. Not as badass as /me/ of course..."





"You need a CD player," Connor replies.  "There are some at Alamut, though Tony Stark probably has some."  He's a rich modern guy, of course he has CD players right?  Once Connor's gift to Toph is explained Connor will get a couple of slices of pizza and some soda-- hopefully he is familiar enough with coffee that the caffiene will not give him trouble-- and then go sit with the Auditores as Claudia had motioned him over earlier.  Thankfully he does know a little bit about pizza, he has seen it eaten before just has never eaten it himself.

As for Ezio's question of his uniform?  "I have two," he mentions.  But I do not like the other one, the shoes bother me."

Toph will find a book, but she doesn't need to worry about not being able to read it, as it was in Braille. It was a copy of the Mabinogion, written after Saber's own time but detailing some of the myths of her native Britain. 

"I recalled that you were learning to read this language," she said. "My Master made this suggestion, though I picked the book itself." 

To Ezio and Steve, the petite knight nodded in what was her way of an informal bow. "It is good to see you under much better circumstances than our previous encounters."

Rarity is sitting at a table with a family of high class italians and a rat-man priest. Only in the multiverse. She lets the conversation go on for a bit while nibbling politely at her pizza and sipping some cider. Got to let everyone get their turn in the conversation after all, and she's too polite to talk with her mouthful. After she's swallowed a few bites she holds the rest of the pizza slice up, hmming. "Prehaps I was too critical on the potential freshness matter, this is quite appetizing."

Then back to the conservation. "And what do you two do for a living?" she asks of Claudia and Maria. Presumably they are not in the same 'business' as Ezio himself is.

One Assassin is probably less sociable than Altair, and that would be Nasrin. She arrives, late, and makes her way slowly towards the gathering of familiar voices with hesitance. She's not in her typical Assassin gear, but a gray hooded sweat-shirt, the hood pulled up over her head, a pair of jeans, and black boots. She quietly makes her way over, staying to the fringe of the gathering, and looking at all the assembled Assassins, Allies -- and A few familiar faces from working with the Union. 

Or aiding in the mysterious disappearnace of someone's wallet.

So where did Rainbow Dash go of to after making one of her trademark greetings with a wall? To the pizza, of course. Rainbow finally pulls herself away from the pizza table, but there's still a slice of vegitarian pizza on her plate.

Rainbow flits past the present table with far more grace than she exhibited when she had streamers in her eyes. "Whoa, pretty sweet haul already!" She grins broadly at Toph. "So how're you digging your first awesome birthday party so far? Cool, huh?"

"...Somehow, methinks that /utterly/ suits Toph." No, he's not even that surprised. He /is/ however, grinning, even as his eye gives that 'priest glower'. 

Ear-perk. "As Ser Stark said, Toph! 'Tis a rather whimsical picture of thineself upon the field of battle, set before thine enemies in triumph in a pose of triumph!" That may be exaggerating a bit, but the rat tends towards the dramatic. 

"...Hardly the artistic sorts? Mmm." Shudder. Bad art makes nezumi sad. 

With that, he bows to the man. "By thy leave, Ser! Strive to make this time special for thine friend, hmm? May we meet again. Hopefully on good terms." 

Then, he's off! The Auditores get a smile and bow. Then, it's food time again! Particularly he's getting at that cider. Delicious~

Maya sees that Toph seems to be enjouing herself as everyone else is dropping off gifts and greeting. Maya's taking in the food and seems amusesd. 

"Even after so many here some earth food's still strange." 

She finishes off the slice and wanders a bit hoveirng over to Kilik and Faruja as she's curious abotu what they might be up to. 

"Faruja, and hello. Name's Maya good to meet you."


A CD player? People still use those? How quaint. Tony grins. "We'll load it into Jarvis and he'll put it on your playlist for you," he assures Toph. Right alongside all of the Queen and AC/DC he's given her. He gets up and circles around behind Toph to look over her shoulder at the huge (it would have to be, for a Braille translation) book. "Hey, there ya go. Next lesson plan is set."

"Okay open Steve's now. I helped with it."

Nasrin may or may not be given a slightly narrow-eyed look as he touches a hand to his pocket to make sure his wallet is secure.

Steve returns Saber's bow with a slight bow of his own, then sets his package down as close to Toph as there's room.

Now isn't that a scary thought? Good thing she actually likes Tony.

Saber's present makes Toph blink, and she quietly voices out the title as she runs her hands over the Braille symbols. "Oh, thanks." What the book is about she will have to check out later when she actually reads it. But at least she will have something to read after she finishes her current book in a few weeks. Which Tony points out. "I won't have to use the glove for this one at least." Not that she dislikes the glove, he should know that.

When Rogers makes it clear that he needs to put down the gift, Toph blinks... and then sets down the pizza and the current gifts she's handling. "Maybe set it down on the table over there?" Okay, now she's curious. Big? Heavy? And Tony helped with it? This one she wants to open /now/. So she walks over to where Steve sets the gift down... and then begins unwrapping it, looking rather curious as to what one of her sparring partners has gotten her.

The blind earthbender is made aware of Rainbow however, and Toph blinks and turns her face slightly towards the pegasus. "It is pretty cool yeah, never had something like this before!"

Getting up from his perch near the pizza, Bruce slips another piece casually off the serving trayy and onto his plate. He then causlly walks over to see what this gift Tony and Cap made for the young birthday girl. He pats Steve on the shoulder as he approaches the group. "Nice to see you could make it, Cap."

As the scientist gnaws on the pizza and drinks his bottle water spiked with more water, he leans in to observe the unveiling of this gift. He muses at Stark. "Better not lean in too close to the candles on the cake or we'll have an explosion." The doctor then surveys the area, maintain as small a footprint as fashionable. While Tony has said he should 'strut' more, so sense putting himself in a situation to strut through a wall.

"I keep the books." Claudia says with an affable grin. "Mother used to assist father with his work, before...well, let's just say his other life caught up with him. Things were hairy, but we've got it under control now...ish." She shrugs lightly. Seems she moved on enough, or at least found a thing to focus on during times of grief anyway.

Maria nods, "Si, Giovanni used to bank for some very important clients, when he wasn't doing what my son and daughter do anyways." She says. "Let's just say his life wasn't without risks, and fortune didn't favor him enough in the end. Not that he didn't have time to raise children well, of course." She gives both Ezio and Claudia a peck, quick enough before going back to her meal. "Before you give condolences, it's been twenty or so years. The Auditore family is nothing if not strong, we've rebuilt over the years."

Ezio gives a grave nod, "Yes. Our father and brothers didn't die in vain, at the least." He says, confident but not braggy. He never goes there when family is brought up.

The tensity of the discussion is mercifully taken care off as Toph is all kinds of :D at her gift, and he laughs. "I hope she has time to open ours. The dress isn't as complicated as some, but we spent a lot of time getting it together." Maria chuckles pleasantly.

Kilik blinks himself when Ezio speaks Saber's title. "Seiba?" he asks. No, not calling her by the nickname... it's about all he can manage with a mouthful of pizza. He does a doubletake, looking at the girl. And yes, he sees it now. Mentally, he has to kick himself for not noticing before. Not that, you know, he makes a habit of ogling girls or anything... but he's kind of chagrined to not even have noticed! Sure, he recognizes the name... and he even recognizes the warrior herself now. Choking down his current mouthful, Kilik nods respectfully to the girl. Definitely not an offered hand though. He still carries portions of several slices and he hasn't QUITE managed to stuff them all in his mouth at once.

He's also caught a bit off-guard when Toph mentions the outcome of their battles. Still, he grins and offers the littler girl a nod of the head. "Yeah, she kicked my ass twice. I bet there's not a lot of people who could say that, still be standing, and actually have the guts to show up at her party!" he smirks.

Ezio's story is one that Connor has heard before, the Assassins passed their journals down to successive generations after all.  Which is part of why Connor knows a little bit of Italian, he had to eventually learn enough to read and understand it.  He just nods to the mention of Ezio's family having straightened itself out, he does not want to cause any upset by talking about it.  Besides, it is not his story to tell.  Also because he is eating and it is rude to talk with the mouth full.  He may not know much etiquette but Achilles taught him that much at least.  And also the pizza's good!

Rarity mmms, nodding her head. Not a topic that she feels a need to pursue farther. "My parents travel a lot so I often have to watch after my younger sister. So I can understand the need for time for proper foalraising despite not having a family of my own yet. If not for a school fieldtrip she would likely of come with... And oh goodness, I almost forgot. Pardon moi."

The unicorn sets the rest of her food down and slips away from the table for a moment, because she almost forgot to put her present for Toph in the pile. Then turns to look towards Pinkie Pie. "You did remember to bring a present, did you not?"

"Are you kidding?" Pinkie Pie sits down and throws her forelegs up to indicate all the decorations and such. "The surprise super awesome party arrangements -was- my super duper birthday present!"

Blink. Blink. "Well played, Pinkie Pie, well played."

Nasrin catches the look from Stark, and the touch to his wallet. Her face, gaunt after a winter in the Americas and with the markings like long, thin claw marks down her cheeks, doesn't give any indication of any reaction. Her weight shifts, and she turns away, trailing behind the Auditores and Rarity, and deposits a smaller package at the gifts; plain wrapping paper, crinkled and recycled, and just jute twine tyed into shoelace bow, looking around uncomfortably. She never was good with crowds. 

... who aren't weilding pitchforks, guns, torches and threatening dictators, anyway.

With the gift unwrapped, Toph blinks as she feels the reinforced box... and if her senses are correct, she can feel something familiar to her senses inside. With the box open she blinks and takes out two cookie sheet-sized steel plates. And then looks a bit confused at first as she runs her hands over them. At least with her bending it's easier to take it all in at once, but still... it's hardly like she's encountered something like /this/ before. Sure, there have been decorations on walls and such, but it's usually far less intricate than this. And for a blind person, it's rather strange to think of the world in two dimensions. So pardon her if the earthbender looks like she has some difficulty on how to interpret the plates. Her fingers move across the textures of what is clearly a metal relief of Toph tearing open a blast furnace. "Is... this a drawing or something?" she asks. This is totally weird! Still, she offers Steve a bright smile. "Thanks!"

As for Kilik's comment... "Especially since you and the twins are the only Confederates here!" she half laughs. Seriously though, it's her birthday. She gets to invite who she wants, right? And now Tony can't complain about her dragging people to his beach, because that was her second place of preference to host a party.

And even more presents? Man, she will have to study the plates Steve got her more later, so she carefully puts them back into the box before she heads back to the pile. Pinkie's confession makes her grin. So /that/ was who decorated, huh? Mystery solved. Okay.

The box from Ezio is grabbed next, and she unwraps it quickly as well, opening it and reaching inside... only to blink when her hands feel cloth. Okay, she is a little skeptical. But then again, that's because most of the people who have gotten her clothes before haven't been very successful in getting her something that's actually comfortable to wear. So far only Pepper seems to have managed to get the girl something she accepts, which should be evident by the way she's dressed today. But she begins inspecting it. Is it scratchy? Or... does it actually seem comfy to wear?

One that is done, she takes the gifts that Rarity and Nasrin deposited, starting to unwrap them both in quick succession. "Man, I really didn't expect to get so many gifts," she grins, leaning forward so the chocobo chick on her head has to shift, letting out a slightly disgruntled 'kweh' sound.

"Pinkie Pie throws the best parties," Rainbow Dash says with a sage-like nod of her head, "And it's not all just streamers and stuff either." Either her wings are getting tired or Dash finally remembers that Toph can't actually 'see' her if she's not on the floor, but Rainbow Dash finally touches down next to the table, and flicks her wings neatly up against her back.

Of course, Dash has left a present on the table earlier too. It's a fairly lightweight, blue gift bag somewhere strewn about the rest of the gifts.

"Whooaaa," Dash says, looking over the decorated steel plates. "You look seriously awesome in that! Like you ran out of gum and were about to open up a can of whoop-flank. Wicked!"


Steve grins, "You're welcome. I *sort* of made them - I think I've mentioned I do a lot of sketching and drawing ... so I asked Stark to help me convert a couple of sketches I thought you'd like into a more tactile medium."

That said, he finds a plate and helps himself to a couple of slices of pizza, as well as collecting a glass of cider before he starts hunting for a seat.



It's not hard to tell which present is Rarity's, Toph can probably feel the glittery bits in the paper she can't see. And underneath that is a keepsake treasure box. That has several decorative gems affixed into the lid and sides. And a 'lock' that is a chunk of obsidian stone that Toph should be able to use her earthbending to lock and unlock, meaning it truly is one that only she can open.

When Toph opens up the poorly, shoddily wrapped gift, there's a wooden box. It's very plain, save for a metalworked scene of mountains that can be felt on the top, but thewood is smooth to the touch. It has little feet, carved into a bun shape, and a little hook-clasp on it, and a little key on the bottom. If turned, the key will grind slightly, winding up a spring. 

When opened, the box would tinkle on a few end notes, and then play a pretty, Korean tune, and has a few metal bangle bracelets inside. There's nothing saying who it's from, if its drop-off wasn't picked up. 

Though at Rarity's present, Nasrin gives a short 'hrk' sound. And might have tried to take the shoddily wrapped gift back before it was nabbed, making the assassin withdraw further back.


Tony blows a boozy-smelling breath in Bruce's direction and snorts derisively at the notion that a single rum-and-coke could make him flammable. He's had more than this to drink for breakfast some days. "Speaking of candles..." he takes the segue though. "You have a job to do, birthday girl," he addresses Toph sternly, and stretches out an arm to take her by the elbow to guide her over to the cake table. Once she's done opening presents of course.


Toph's gift will be a green-beige sundress, going down to knee length, with matching slacks to go underneath them that stop at bellow her ankles slightly. It's a simple but fashionable garment that suits a tomboyish earthbender fine, and it comes with a matching hat as well, a simple green cap.

Without a change of expression, Saber turned toward Kilik as he attempted to say her Servant name with a mouth full of pizza. "I am called Saber, yes." 

And of course, it wouldn't be a party without food, and she wouldn't be a Saber without partaking of it.

As for Rainbow Dash's present to Toph, it's something much more simple than most. The bag seems disproportionally light for how big it is, and for a good reason, because inside of it is a ball. Not just any all, it's a ball made of some sort of squishy, foamy material. It has some sort of whistle on it, so Toph should be able to hear it coming.

But that's not all! Theres also... A pack of playing cards? Not just an ordinary pack of cards. These have braille on them to denote the suit and number!


"Oh man, Buster will love playing fetch with that," Tony murmurs.



Rebecca apparently had Toph's present custom made. It's a book written entirely in Braille. It's one that's designed to teach one how to improve their martial arts skills. Rebecca saw the book and thought it would be nice, but saw Toph probably couldn't read it. So, with a little help and a lot of credits, Rebecca got a custom made one just for Toph!

"You did," Toph nods to Steve as he explains. "It's just a bit difficult to imagine it in my head since there's no real depth like with a sculpture." Maybe Steve can explain it a bit more to her later? Because she would hate to ignore all the other presents that people got for her. So she works on unwrapping the rest of the presents, yanking the gift from Rainbow with the two other packages as she opens them. "Well, it is pretty festive in here," Toph agrees with Rainbow. Yeah, it seems like she's not the only one having fun here now. Which is good, since parties are meant to entertain all the people, right?

Rarity's present makes Toph blink, and she does indeed recognize the materials. This is a bit easier for her to understand with her bending, and she shakes the box gently next to her ear. 

"Cool! Thanks, I can keep stuff I don't want other people to mess with in here!" Why, she even runs some fingers over the obsidian stone, opening the box to inspect it a little inside. Then she closes and locks it again and sets it carefully aside since it seems like the most delicate present she has gotten so far.

Toph blinks when Nasrin tries to take the gift back. "Hey!" The girl is given a grin, and then she begins unwrapping it, even more determined to find out what's inside. And behold, another box. It doesn't seem as if Toph regards this as inferior to the previous one, and she runs her fingers over it with a smile on her face. "Even more to keep my stuff in!" she grins, then opens it... and looks honestly surprised, listening to the tune. And the bangles are picked up. "Sweet!" Yes, she even puts one onto her right wrist. And she will leave the box open so it can continue playing the song.

Okay, now for Rainbow's... the blue gift bag is opened, its contents taken out.

The nerf football seems to confuse her for a moment as well, though she grins once she realizes what it is. "Thanks, Rainbow!" As for the cards? Toph touches them, then arches an eyebrow as Tony comments on Buster's certain interest in the gift. "Well, you need to practice on your Braille, and then we can play cards," she says and holds up the Braille playing cards.

Seems like she is at the last present. As she unwraps the book Toph recognizes it as another book... and then grins when her fingers brush across the title. Maybe they don't know that Tony made her a glove so she can read normal text, but hey... the thought counts. At least people here don't seem to forget that she is blind so easily! "Thanks Chambers!"

Huh? For a moment the blind girl looks confused when Tony takes her elbow, though she does get up from her chair and follow him. "What's with the candles anyway?"

Tony's eyes narrow again when he approaches the cake and sees... handfuls of it torn out. Pathetic little gummi worms dangle from the wound in the otherwise glorious confection. A carefully controlled exhalation makes its way from his nose.

But no matter. Toph has a JOB to do, and as her supervising officer it is his solemn duty to explain it to her. "There are thirteen candles on top of the cake," he explains. "I'll light 'em in a minute. YOU, have to make a wish -- keep it to yourself or it won't come true," he cautions seriously, "and then blow them all out. In one breath. The wish only comes true if you do it all in one breath. Think you can handle that, Beifong?"

"Then and ONLY THEN," he pans a stern look around the room, seeking the cake-bending thieves, "do we all get to eat the cake."

"You kinda remind me of someone." Kilik says to Saber. A blonde girl perhaps a little older than he is, at least in appearance. Delicate features and actually rather pretty, once you get past the mannish outfit and assuming you don't judge a girl by her measurements. Kilik's a normal healthy young man and notices measurements just fine, but they're hardly all he looks at.

He's not staring at Saber however. He was just noticing her, and also remembering seeing someone with much the same build, features, hair. And, come to think of it, she also dressed like a boy and ... insisted on calling herself a boy. Hmmm. Subtext may often go over Kilik's head, but even he's beginning to wonder if there might be something going on here. And yet he'd already mentioned that Saber looks like someone he knows. Gulp.

Rather than sticking foot in mouth, Kilik stuffs pizza in there. Look! He can't POSSIBLY talk about Mordred with his mouth full!

Rarity smiles sincerely when her present goes over well, especially the special 'trick' lock she had worked hard to get set in properly. "You are most welcome dahling."

"Silly girl, the candles are to count how many years old you are." When cakes and candles are mentioned Pinkie Pie is bouncing right along. "Next year you get another one, and another one after that, to keep track of all the awesome years you've had." And Tony already explained the blowing out part as well. "And that too."


Tony proceeds to strike a match (he had them in his pocket along with the cheapass candles) and light the thirteen little wax sticks in a circle.

Thirteen candles. One for each year, she guesses. And Pinkie Pie confirms it. Though Toph tries to catch what Tony is saying even as she has a pony bouncing next to her. The thing about making a wish though, that makes her arch an eyebrow. It does seem kinda childish. Things don't come true just because you wish for them and blow out some candles? And hey, if she wishes for something, then it's usually something she wouldn't tell people anyway! But she nods, not about to argue with her supervising officer about this at least. "I might not be an airbender," luckily for her! "but yeah." At least shes got a healthy set of lungs, and those who know her have probably heard how loud she can be when she wants to.

But she does wait until Tony has lit all the candles and then stepped back from the cake. There's a serious look on her face as she considers the whole wish thing. Well. There is something. Not that she was going to say that out loud to anybody, but it should count. So she takes a deep breath... and then blows as hard as she can, causing the candles to flicker and die out after a few seconds. Except that Toph can't see it, now can she? So she blows until she's empty for air, then draws breath again.
"... did I get them all?" she asks.

Maya is still floating about the party for the moment and she heads out, why? No she's not leaving things behind. She's going to get Toph's gift, that's what she's going to do. She comes back carrying the foot by foot pacakage it seems pretty heavy as Maya moves to set it down. She looks to Toph and you can hear the grin in Maya's voice. 

"Given your an Earth Bender, I got you somethign that might strike your intrest Toph." 

What did Maya get Toph? Once she opens the pacakge she'll find a cube of rock and ore from Maya's world. Once Toph has had a moment to get a feel for it. 

"Raw Coreite from my world basically the crystalied blood of my world can be harder than diamons. I figured you might have fun trying to bend such material."




Tony claps as the candles flicker out, encouraging the other guests into a round of applause. "You got 'em," he confirms. "Okay, now you have to cut the cake... no I'm just kidding. He takes up the knife himself, and... gestures to one of the wait staff to come cut the cake for her.

You didn't think he was going to do manual labor, did you?

Anyway, anyone who wants yummy chocolate oreo-crumble with gummi worms cake can have it now. Yay!



Steve joins in the round of applause, and stifles a quiet snort at Tony handing cake-cutting duties off to somebody else.

He's not getting in line for cake just yet, though; he's got pizza and cider to eat first. Besides, it looks like there's plenty of cake to go around, so no hurry. Right?



Connor claps as well when the candles are blown out.  And you better believe he's going over there to get some of that cake.  Between the soda and the chocolate, he probably needs to watch his caffiene intake, though ...

One more present? Toph steps back from the cake as the wait staff comes over to cut the cake into slices for the guests, and she does indeed hear the grin in Maya's voice. "Yeah?" Another heavy gift? Of course this brings a grin to Toph's face, and she opens it quickly... only to look pleasantly surprised as she feels the contents inside. "Oh, cool! I haven't felt rock like this before..." she says. Oh yes, she will be bending this later. But hey, Tony did get her some cake and he seems to take it pretty seriously. So she gives Maya a punch in the arm before she closes the box and then heads back to get a slice of cake from the wait staff.

The first spoonful does make her eyes widen slightly, and she nods her head in approval. "I might just have a birthday next month too," she says. Because this? The whole thing? So far it's been the most fun she's had in ages, and definitively the best birthday ever.

"Yay you did it!" And of course Pinkie Pie is right in line behind Toph for cake.

Though it's not completely for herself, as she also gets a slice to take to Rarity and her newly made Italian friends, whom the unicorn had gone back to sitting with. How she carries all those plates on her mane without spilling them despite bouncing along is just one of the mysteries that is Pinkie Pie. "Thank you dahling," Rarity is at least quick to grab several with her magic to distribute around the tail. "Well this certainly looks.. like an interesting desert." Tastes yum though!

"You mean an awesome dessert!" Rainbow Dash says as she zips past Rarity to grab a slice for herself. It totally wasn't her fault that there were chunks missing, at least this time. "Hah, it actually looks like it's all dirty! How cool is that!"


"Grats, blowhard!" Kilik cheers, applauding Toph's imitation of an airbender. Or is it a firebender? Certainly an earthbender would be more likely to just dump the entire cake upside down to deal with the tiny flames. Kilik laughs to himself, just picturing this one. And yeah, he's throwing an insult Toph's way. If she objects, he figures she'll make her feelings known. He doesn't even think about what might happen if anyone else makes objections though.

"That's one of the perks of being blind," Toph calls out to Rarity. "It doesn't matter what the food looks like!" It certainly tastes good, especially those ground up bits.
Kilik's comment earns a raspberry. "Thanks, hot head!" At least she is used to insults, and this one isn't even a real one in her opinion.

Though the earthbender looks to be rather pensive as she eats the cake, her expression unreadable. And once people have gotten some cake and it's somewhat quieter in the room, she clears her throat, clearly hesitating a bit. "I... am going home to visit my parents next week," she says, holding her plate a little tighter where she stands. Even if not everybody knows her history with her parents and how it has shaped her, it should be pretty clear that this isn't something she seems eager to do. Actually, it's rare to see the earthbender this nervous about something. Then she continues, her attention forward before she turns her face slightly towards Tony, who already knows this already. "And... I told them I was bringing some friends. So I don't have to go there alone."

There is a slight pause. "I.... just wanted to thank you guys. I've never had a real birthday party before."

Rarity oohs. "That sounds like a wonderful idea. Travel is always more interesting when you've got a few close friends with you as well."


Toph's throat-clearing gets Connor's attention and he looks to her.  Her announcement surprises him but he nods.  "I will go with you if you wish," he offers.

Maya is happy she got something Toph looks like she'll have some fun with and then she looks at Toph as she makes the announment. She stares for a moment looking at her. Given the stories she's shocked but on the other hand? Toph's parents are alive. Maya was about Toph's age when her parents were killed by chosen soldiers. 

"I see, this should be ... interesting and I'm glad you had fun Toph. You deserve to get to be a kid, and this os one of those things."



"Mmph mh phh mph!" Rainbow Dash says, her mouth full of cake.

Then, after a second, she gulps down her mouthful. "Hey, no problem! This was seriously a blast. And hey, if you want someone awesome to show up so they can see what kind of totally cool friends you're making, I'm game. I can totally teach you to play poker on the way!" That won't end well.



Steve sits up straighter, swallowing another bite of pizza as Toph makes her announcement. No, he doesn't know Toph's history with her parents; however, given the way she approaches this announcement, he doesn't really have to know. Particularly at the 'never had a real birthday party before' part of Toph's statement.

"I can't take credit for planning this one," he says quietly, "but you're welcome ... and I'd be glad to accompany you on your visit home, Toph."

He pauses, looking at the .... rainbow-maned sky-blue pegasus. "Isn't she a little young to be gambling, or are you talking about not playing for money?" Yep, good ol' strait-laced Steve Rogers.




"Buuuuuuuusted~" Pinkie Pie chimes in with a giggle as Dash is called out on the potential gambling.



"Hey, /I'm/ too young to be gambling," Rainbow Dash points out. Not that it's obvious to a non-pony that she's still pretty young. "We can play for pretzels or something."



Kilik snorts. "Just don't play for pebbles. She'd cheat." he advises.

Tony shovels a forkful of cake into his mouth, chews, swallows, and steps up beside Toph again, wriggling his tongue around in the inside of his cheek for crumbs. "I'm going," he announces; it's not an offer, just a statement of fact. "Already braved the lion's den once to set it up. Her parents aren't exactly thrilled with the idea of their precious little angel getting involved in multiversal conflict, but, you know." Awkward pause, and then a muttered, "God I never thought I'd say this, but," before, "I think you coming along would be a good idea, Cap. Show 'em we're the good guys."

As her friends offer to accompany her, she is part relieved that she gets somebody besides Tony to come with her. He already did offer, heck... this is mostly his idea to begin with anyway. Then again... part of her can't help but worry about what sort of reaction her parents, especially her father, will have to half of these people. "Not everybody, that might be a bit too much." A bit too much for her parents to take. Heck, some tea stains on her dress and they would freak out!
Though she's already starting to forming a potential team set up for this. Because it's easier to think of it as a battle. A battle of will and wits. The comment from Rainbow earns a small smile, though when Kilik responds to it fist? Toph frowns. "I wouldn't cheat!" She takes another spoonful of cake. "... much."
As Tony explains the fragile situation she can't help but sigh, her eyebrow twitching slightly at the wording Tony settles for. And then she decides that an explanation might be in order. "My dad is... very overprotective. And I don't think he will be too thrilled. And we will probably argue." Toph narrows her eyes. "A lot."
You are hereby warned.

"Maybe you need to throw them a reeeeally big party to get them to lighten up. That's what I did with my parents."

Rarity just gives Pinkie Pie a bit of a look. They're still not certain how much of that story is Pinkie Pie's overactive imagination.

"How vigorously is he going to object, do you think?" Steve asks before popping the last bite of pizza into his mouth.


"Well," Tony drawls, "I'm pretty sure he wanted to have me thrown into a deep dark hole. If not for my incredible people skills and ability to convince him that I had not, in fact, kidnapped his daughter." He pulls a little smirk. "I was glad I had the armor nearby on standby though."



"Ugh, dads can kinda suck like that sometimes," Rainbow Dash says, rolling her eyes. She flicks her wings irritably. "I mean seriously, my dad freaks out whenever I talk about doing any of my tricks! It's always 'wear a helmet' this and 'go slower' that." She snorts in a very horse-like manner, tail flicking.

... There's a good bet that Dash's dad actually has a good reason to be 'overprotective' of the cyan pegasus.

... the suggestion from Pinkie Pie makes Toph blink slowly. "No offense, but with my dad? It would have the opposite effect..." the blind girl sighs, frowning slightly. "He is allergic to anything /fun/, I think." It seems that way to her at least! Steve's question is easy to answer. "A lot. He has seen me bend, but that only made him think I needed even more protection." And then Tony confirms her story. "See?" she says, pointing a finger towards Tony. "Man, I only imagine what he would have done if we hadn't done the recording..."<br><br>




Nasrin's been quietly watching from the background. It's only when others are gravitating from the pizza to the cake that she slides in, frowning a moment and looking over the remaining slices, listening to the conversation. She glances up, her weight shifting from foot to foot as the conversation steers towards athers, and gives a glance to Connor.


Maya looks at Toph and she's got quite the trouble maker grin on her face. 

 "I'll be on my best behaviour but then agian to many worlds I certainly look to be the savage. Toph? You may not get this now but be thankful your dad's there to argue with. Even when a pain in the rear? Family is still a blessing...most of the time."




As Nasrin starts to shift about she may find a plate with a couple pieces of pizza on it aiming at her, that would be because Connor is handing it to her.  There is an easy smile on his face, he is trying to get Nasrin to relax a little.  He knows she will not relax completely-- even he hasn't-- but they are at least partially among friends so...

He looks around though, frowning, as people weigh in on wanting to come help. And their reasons and such. "Huh." he says, a bit annoyed at some of the 'hero' talk. "Maybe I should come along." he suggests, maybe trying to stir shit up, maybe being serious. "Show 'em the real stakes in the fight, that sort of thing? It's not like ALL you do is fight Feds, right?" he notes.<br><br>


<br><span></span>Nas pauses as a plate of slices appears in front of her, and she glances up at Connor, and gives a smile. She grips at his hand, momentarily, and accepts the plate, leaning back a little as she finds a seat near her "brother". 

"... there are so many people here. Toph is fortunate to be cared for by so many." she states in a quiet tone of voice. No, Nas doesn't 'do' parties well.<br><br>

It... is hard to think of them in that way when she feels that they have only held her back and prevented her from reaching her potential. And never given her what she needed. Despite that she still misses them, and it's been nearly a year since she last 'saw' them.
Then Kilik offers to come with as well, and it seems as if she is surprised by that. Perhaps this makes it even more evident to her that she should consider closely who might be best suited for this, as it won't be easy. Most elites here can do something about a violent battle, but actually handling the upcoming situation will require a special finesse. That much she knows.
"I... can't decide on this now," she says. "I will think about it and let you know when I have figured it out." No, this isn't something she takes lightly. Then she clears her throat. "For now, eat some more cake and ice cream, guys."
Yes. Enough grim planning for now. This is a party after all.
