There are as many Syndicates as there are Fixer Offices. They are not under the purview of the Associations and generally follow their own rules. Despite not being part of official offices like the Fixers, Syndicates and Fixer Offices still cooperate occassionally and some Syndicates become big enough to become akin to Associations in their own right. These Syndicates all called the Five Fingers. Like many Syndicates, the Five Fingers are Rivals with one another, but they span the City and lesser Syndicates often get pulled in as part of their operations and this results in frequent turf wars. Right now, in fact, the Pinky and the Ring Syndicates are in conflict with one another as we speak and seem unlikely to involve themselves with the situation involving the 12th District. After the recent incident, it's unlikely the Middle will get too involved as well. This means the upcoming conflict is likely to be between the other two... The Index and the Middle. Of the two we believe The Middle will be the easiest to predict. They follow a strict hierarchy and are sensible with their cruelty. They are bound to be the first Finger to try and make a deal with the Outsiders. OOC: November 27 3 PST, 6 EST, a scene relating to the Blade Lineage and Watch as the Thumb pays a visit to the local Watchtower to either make a deal or declare war. |

Nothing was thought of it, as the deed to the house says 'Aidan Proudpick' and flies his makeshift coat of arms. A tall squirrel has been sighted numerous times near the mansion. Hearsay from Broadband was that the Elite had an enormous amount of illicit money, leaving the matter largely ignored as 'Elite business.' The constant moving of supplies to and from the mansion make it the only point of interest. Local police have failed to investigate. The recent disappearance of 23 of 24 of the town's residents have escalated the situation.
Mission: Investigate the mansion, discover the source of the disappearances, eliminate enemy if necessary. Field Contact: Mrs. Grinklemeyer, sole remaining resident. OOC: Scene 1/3(?) Timebubbled but loosely. Scenes happen sequentially. |

Aeng-du of the Blade Lineage thinks forging an alliance with the Yurodiviye will help us weather the storm ahead. They call their leader Sonya the Saint, but I've heard they are the sort of people more interested in talking philosophy and ethics than about taking action. Still, they engage in a great deal of community organizing and are a far larger group than our own. Even if they do not fight with us, they can help us move silently and through unseen paths. Relying on others sits ill with me--especially those who so patient against the weight of the City--but we are already seeing the warnings of remaining stiff in the face of the Outsiders' might. The tree that bends survives the storm. We must move with the river rather than against it if we are to have a chance to survive let alone bring true justice to the land. I must admit even now Benjamin occupies my thoughts frequently. After talking with Petra, I believe I know why. When someone whom you thought cared about you betrays you it hurts much more than when someone inflicts that same injury upon you when you never cared for one another at all. Perhaps that makes betrayal the most potent of poisons. It lingers on well past the death of the relationship. Lucius says he wishes to truly make amends and be better towards me. And I believe him for as he so often says... He is not a man of faith. But the Dame Commander is correct as well. Even if he is serious, that does not mean I owe him forgiveness. Especially when he is still loyal to the man who never acknowledged me. OOC: Battle Against Hokma and the Price of Silence. There will be a SURPRISE at this one. As a reminder, like Walpurgisnacht this plotline takes place over a small number of days but do not worry if you cannot make them all. You can always be in the background having your own adventures offscreen. |

Maybe one day it'll mean something to me but one thing I do know is that for the sake of his dream, Benjamin left something in the smoke that he cannot get back.
