Elite bounty hunter Iria was defeated the first time around, but she's not out just yet. She's been given another chance at fighting, and this time it's against a Union elite known only as 'Shigure.' She's never met this elite or even heard of them, but today will be the day that happens, as Iria will be meeting them on the battlefield. It's all for show and nothing personal, but it's still going to be rough out there.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;As the announcer calls out her name, Iria walks out of the tunnel leading into the arena and waves a little as she takes off her cape and tosses it into the stands, where it's caught by Kei who's sitting in an opportune spot to catch it. Then the girl continues walking to the fighting area, looking around and waiting with anticipation for her opponent as she cracks her knuckles.<br> <br>

She mounts up the bank then walks the rest of the way, lifting a hand to the crowd, the overhead helicoptor cameras, then stops and bows formally to her opponent. "Second ship of the Shiratsuyu-class Destroyers, Shigure, is here. Seek out victory on the dawns horizon." she says, before straightening up and settling into her ready position, hand-cannon in her right grip.<br> <br>

"You're a ship? Well, OK, I guess. As long as I don't need any bomber jets or things like that while I'm fighting you." She rolls her neck around a little and then gets into her fighting stance. "I'm Hunter 9979-5 Iria, and I'm here to hunt down victory in the tournament!" She smiles and narrows her eyes a little. "Prepare to see what an elite bounty hunter is capable of when she's fighting in the field!"<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The command to begin the fight is given, and Iria quickly rushes in towards her opponent. It looks like Iria's going to go in directly at Shigure with a melee strike of some kind, but it turns out that's just a ruse of some kind. Because just as she gets close enough, Iria drops down and attempts a sliding kick from down below, almost like a sliding tackle that's aimed only at Shigure's legs!<br> <br>

Shigure topples down hard at the leg sweep, grunting as she lands heavily on her side.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Shigure's backpack folds out several small machinegun nests, that have little button-eye'd fairies at the controls. These open fire, spraying bullets everywhere at the bounty hunter!<br> <br>

She tries to avoid being caught in the gunfire, but while the girl may be an agile one, the gunfire is faster than she expects it to be. Several bullets strike her in various spots, causing her to wince in pain and reel backwards. Her armored bodysuit is meant to be protective, it's true, but it's not bulletproof either. A few shots get through and get into her flesh, causing her to yelp in pain. "Dammit!" She cries out, stumbling a little as the impact proves to be a bit on the pushy side while painful.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;"All right, if you want to play with guns, then we'll do that!" Iria says as she draws her pistol from her holster and twirls it around in a showy fashion. "This may be martial arts, sure, but you were the one who chose to go the firearms route!" She fires off a single shot as she says this last bit.<br> <br>

It showers sparks as the bullet turns aside, like striking metal instead of flesh. "Gnnh... I was told we could use all of our equipment." she murmurs in response, then brings the hand-cannon up to return fire.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;It belches a report and a plume of smoke that would make most guns look and sound pitifully tiny in comparison, the shell is a bit oversized, but then so is the barrel of the cannon. It's aimed not to strike directly, but land nearby and explode!<br> <br>

Twisting quickly on her heels, Iria attempts to leap out of the way, performing a somersault in the air, trying to get as much distance between her and the impending explosion as possible. It succeeds, but just barely. The explosion grazes her leg, although it just leaves a blackened spot that will need some shining later on as opposed to any serious injury to her. Although the impact does cause her to lose her trajectory slightly, causing her to land off balance on the ground and resulting in a slight wince of pain as she lands.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;"Going for the heavy guns are ya? Well I've got news for you," Iria says with an even bigger smirk than before. "Your weapons don't mean anything if they can't hit a moving target!" She holsters her pistol and then rushes in again. "In fact, I don't think I even need my pistol against you. I think I'm overdoing it! After all, this IS a martial arts tournament!" Iria rushes faster and then leaps into the air, attempting a flying kick this time.<br> <br>

She puts her cannon away on her belt, and pulls the two large cannons from her back, the mechanisms clicking into place. she grips the handles that fold out, and she does a twirling flourish.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The barrels lock into place pointing away from Iria, and with a coiling up of her legs, the Destroyer surges forward, and with a double report, the barrels spew out black smoke and orange flame, and sends the Destroyer hurtling forward, aiming to slam the thick armour butresses into the Bounty Hunter.<br> <br>

The bounty hunter is slammed hard and goes flying through the air, grunting a little as she does so. The impact is so hard that she can't right herself and land on her feet or attempt to roll, causing her to tumble a little before coming to a stop.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;"Owww," Iria mutters as she stands up, holding her head in pain while feeling glad that none of her hair beads fell out during that bit. She shakes her head a few times, only to wince again as she realizes that doing so only aggravated the pain in her head. "She's loaded for bear, that's for sure!" Iria mutters, before gritting her teeth and looking at the girl once again. "Seems I've underestimated you, but I like having an opponent who's got more than what there seems to be. Makes me feel a bit more challenged!" She smirks a little, then approaches with caution. "Looks like I'll have to remain on my toes now, though." When she gets close enough, Iria attempts to throw a swift body blow.<br> <br>

She attempts to raise her rifle, only to find she lost it when she was blasted.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;"Good job, disarming me..." Iria says, although her speech pattern indicates she might be a little loopy after that injury, which isn't entirely surprising. "But unarmed, I'm still a formidable fighter..." She attempts to run, stopping when she realizes she's staggering and could fall down, and then approaches swiftly instead, trying not to trip over her feet. She takes a breath and blows it out, her senses returning slowly. With a battle cry, she attempts to deliver a flying knee strike to Shigure.<br> <br>

It looks like a grenade, which Shigure tosses into the water where Iria landed. It explodes under the surface after it sinks for a little bit.<br> <br>

She goes upwards and backwards, landing on her stomach and crying out as she hits the ground with a thud. Weakly, she struggles to get up, but the pain in her body makes her second think it. It's a battle of willpower versus body. One of those struggles where you have to wonder if she's gonna try to force herself to get back up, or if she's going to wave the white flag and declare defeat?<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;After a few moments, Iria gets onto her hands and knees, gasping for air while placing a hand against her stomach, albeit briefly as it comes away with her crying out in pain. "Looks like... I bruised... something... internally," She comments in between heavy breaths. "Gotta... keep... going..." Iria adds as she gets onto one foot, the other leg still bent, before finally forcing herself up again, this time with gritted teeth as she tries not to scream through the pain. Once she's finally up and judges how far away she is from Shigure, she reaches into her holster and pulls out a small grenade. "Here, you wanna fight with explosives! Then try THIS out!" She tosses the grenade after pulling the pin, and once it lands, it will explode with a series of small explosions, almost like a firecracker... except this isn't just for show!<br> <br>

What's especially dangerous is that black goop? it catches light as well!<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The scream that Shigure lets out is surprising not just for the volume, her voice never /gets/ that loud normally, but for the abject /terror/ it holds. Luckily enough, she still has her Fairies, who dutifully go about cutting the goop free and dousing the fires... then they slap a giant hull patch over the leaking fuel-tank wound. It looks like a comically large band-aid, and even has happy cartoon animal faces on it.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;A gasp for breath, and an unsteady shift of her stance draws Shigure's eyes back to Iria. A battle of wills now, the Destroyer's hull is starting to buckle under the stress, and it shows as she's now mid-calf deep in the water. Her cannon tonfa is brought up again, but instead of firing immediately, she intones. "Load Armour Piercing." The fairies inside dutifully do so, clanks and clunks emitting as they prime the cannon. Once it clanks and a fairy salutes, Shigure doesn't just fire randomly, her eyes glow blue as she locks in on Iria, lining up the shot before pulling the trigger.<br> <br>

But when she does, she notices it feels a lot heavier than it should. Apparently, her injuries have weakened her quite a bit. Struggling to lift it, Iria can only sag a little as she attempts to aim at Shigure again and then fire off another shot. "Nnngh!" She cries out in pain as the rifle sags down with her again.<br> <br>

She won't!<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Feet find ground, and she shifts the cannon tonfa around, priming it to fire that augmenting burst again... only, she doesn't manage to get that far. That single shot smacks the girl right in the forehead, dropping her like a ton of bricks into a heap on the floor. She tumbles with her momentum, coming to rest at Iria's feet.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The gunshot wound in her forehead? The bullet is compressed into a flat lump of lead, and there's a big expanding black scorch mark across her entire face. She's out cold, but still alive.<br> <br>
