A peaceful sea, that sounds like a nice...dream." |PAge=20 |AAge=Unknown |Aging=No |Height=5'10" |Weight=Lean |Hair=Silver |Eyes=Varies |Voice= |Song= |Profile=In the oceanic battlefield that the Abyssal fleet calls home, the restless spirits of sunken ships can rise again in humanoid form, to wreak havoc on shipping and military navies alike. Most of them, save those that arise from gestalts of an entire battle, are little more than mindless zombies hellbent on destruction. Every so often, though, such a being carries an additional spark, that enables them to keep going. This particular Wo-class aircraft carrier, a common enough sight among the Abyssal ranks, is one such exceptional ship, having returned from repeated sinking, each time gaining a little more clarity, sanity and focus. Even now, her anger at the surface world and their constant warfare burns, but there also grows a sadness for the loss of the former existence she barely remembers, and the faint pulse of a hope that one day, there can be peace. For the moment, her reality is serving the needs of the Abyssal fleet, using her potent aircraft drones, as well as sometimes leading lesser sisters into battle. |Powers=ABSOLUTELY ABYSMAL: Being the revenant of a long sunken ship given physical, humanoid form holds a few key advantages. First, as with all of her kind, the Wo-class is able to withstand lack of oxygen indefinitely, as well as a range of pressures such is found in Earth's deepest seas. She can move without effort, excepting times of physical distress, both below and on the surface of any suitably deep body of water. While typically lacking in the armament and bulk of some of her sisters in arms, she nonetheless retains the ability to, mentally and physically, interface with parts of ship- and plane-wrecks, which are then grotesquely twisted into monstrous forms. While, as mentioned, less armored and hence durable than some of the abyssal fleet, typical and mundane small arms are unlikely to have much effect against her misleadingly reinforced frame, and all but the gravest damage can be 'repaired', given enough time among the wrecks of Iron Bottom Sound. WORRISOME WINGS: Carrier vessels are potent as they can not only attack from a distance, but they can potentially send wave after wave of aircraft if left unhindered. Their attacks are also versatile, and as a standard, this Wo-class can deploy and control a squadron of fighters, dive bombers and torpedo bombers, up to a handful at a time. Fighters tend to be best used for harassing other, lightly armored attack remotes of their kind, in other words to gain 'air superiority', while torpedo and bomber craft can rip through more hardened targets, but are less maneuverable and have less protection. She carries two to three additional wings in reserve that can be manifested to replace fallen fighters, but her supplies are not limitless; running out will require a return to Iron Bottom Sound to resupply, as the craft are constructed of scrap much like the rest of an abyssal's equipment. They are about the size of a medium-sized dog, and with the teeth to match. DEEP DARK: The Wo-class, in her presently advanced form, does not fear the night or the things that may float within it. She can see and coordinate perfectly well on even overcast nights, an unfortunate fact for many ships that have crossed her path after dusk, their only warning the low roar of jet engines, and the ghostly bioluminescent eyes of the bombers they belonged to. Basically, she can see and fight at full strength even in total darkness. |Skills= |Assets=HIDEOUS HAT: It is rare that a Wo-class would have need to remove her toothy-grinned hat. It is, effectively, a part of her and carries her main defensive batteries, as well as serving as extra storage space for aircraft. However, even physically separated, it retains the ability to move, just like the severed head of a snake - albeit cumbersomely - and its cannons, jaws and even writhesome, organic tentacles can remain an issue. Probably best to leave it where you found it, and resist the temptation to try it on. While the cannons attached are primarily for dissuasion and self-defense, there is little doubt that a direct hit could be deadly, especially to sub-elites. |NPCs=ABYSMAL ALLIES: For whatever reason, this Wo-class carrier simply refused to stop. Where a great many of her sisters were able to find some twisted form of peace, she kept rising again from the brink, unable to rest and only more resolute. She takes no particular pride in this, if indeed she can feel something like that any longer, but as long as it meets her ends, she will be willing to lead lesser abyssals into battle. They take on the roles of the varied naval forms and size classes they possessed in their former existences, including destroyers, cruisers, submarines, carriers and battleships. These tormented souls are often of the lowest ranks of the newly raised, but may rarely include a more powerful elite or two. This Wo-class, while determined, simply doesn't have that much fleet cred yet. (PL 20-28) |Disadvantages=MUDDLED MEMORIES: She can't quite recall what it is in her past that has driven her this far, and made her do all these terrible things. The notion that it was something important managed to stick in place, and remained her mental and spiritual anchor to this world, despite her repeated sinking. While she takes comfort in the fleeting glimpses of a former life, seen through the haze of undeath, it can at times surface with bad timing, as well as with far less pleasant and confusing feelings, conflicting with her anger over the Abyssal's plight. These lapses of concentration typically last only a few moments before she can regain control, but that may be all the time a prospective enemy requires. SINGULAR SYLLABLE: 'Wo!' While, given enough time and that the situation is calm enough, she can express herself with a full, inhumanly toned vocabulary, old habits are hard to break. It is much easier for her to utter the monosyllable 'wo', and when pressured or excited that may be all she can manage. Other abyssal ships can still understand her, however. DEATH DOTE: Even beyond the concepts of ship designations, at best, the Wo-class tends to overlook opponents that look smaller and young, preferring to leave them be if there are any more 'suitable' targets. At worst, she might risk odd looks to keep one from sinking or, in the case of non-ships, coming to serious harm, even if it is not necessarily in the Abyssal fleet's best interests. Direct orders from more authoritative beings, such as Abyssal capital ships, will all but force her hand, but she would still try to find a way to weasel out of it. STEALTH SUPPRESSED: At first glance, it might seem the ability to survive indefinitely in water of any depth is a key advantage every Abyssal ship has. While it may enable an ambush on an already vulnerable opponent, though, except for the submarines among them, it doesn't really help all that much in active combat. To use her armaments and jet drones, the Wo-class must be completely surfaced, and simply isn't as maneuverable in the water as on it. On dry land, should she ever find herself engaged there, it's even less of a consideration. RESOURCE RELIANT: While the Wo-class carries plenty of 'ammunition' in the form of energy for her defensive guns, as well as two to three reserve wings of aircraft, it is entirely possible for the latter to be depleted, and her firearms to be rendered inoperable - or, horror of horrors, de-hatted. In these circumstances, she is practically a sitting duck, and must return to Iron Bottom Sound to replenish and rebuild. Mundane weapons and parts available off the shelf simply won't work, it is only the malevolent aura around particularly troubled spirits that enable it. }}
