Date of Scene: | 22 June 2014 |
Location: | Papaya Island - Stadium |
Synopsis: | WMAT Round One - Aurora vs. Minette |
Cast of Characters: | 183, 422, 462 |
- Aurora (462) has posed:
Aurora flies on in from one side of the stadium, waving to those cheering her on. The tiny Shinki's purple streaks one of the few markings for those in the nosebleed section before she stops, hovering in mid air over the stadium. She points her laser attack bits up and starts firing, an image of a smiling Tempesta being displayed. Taking a few heavy breaths, she looks to the other side of the arena, waiting for her opponent.
Aurora's swords are beside her, held into her hands with the largest of the two upon her right. "Master... wish me luck." she mutters under her breath, taking a gulp... her first real fight and everyone is watching. Nervousness sets in and she's shivering, anticipating... and worried.
- Ms. Fortune (422) has posed:
"Are you -sure- this is a good idea, Nadia?" Minette whines to her felinoid friend, just outside of the arena.
The feral girl grins broadly. "Nope!" And, before Minette has a chance to react, she's -shoved- out into the arena, and into the eyes of the thousands of spectators.
The waitress eeps, and seems like she's looking for somewhere to hide for a few moments... before she takes a deeeep breath. She's dressed in... her waitress outfit from Yu-Wan's restaurant! And has no visible weapons on her. Huuh.
- Mizuki (183) has posed:
Mizuki says, "And theeere ~ she ~ is, dear viewers! Aurora herself enters from stage left! Now there's only one fighter left before we can get this started~!" And not too long after, Minette is pushed into the ring by Ms. Fortune. Seeing her outfit - and her reaction - Mizuki pauses a moment. Eventually, though, Mizuki says, "... and what's -this-, ladies and gentlemen? It seems Minette has arrived as well! And yet she's... quivering! Yes, but don't be fooled -- I'm sure she's only quivering with excitement! Quivering with rage! Quivering with a lust ~ for ~ battle~!" Then, bending over to speak into the ear of a pink-haired woman in a maid outfit of her own, adds, "... though this seems rather -fishy- if you ask me, hmhmhm~..."
Meanwhile, the crowd goes wild! Both fighters may be surprised to hear their names being chanted LOUD in different parts of the stadium! It would appear they actually have quite a few fans out there!
- Aurora (462) has posed:
Aurora blinks, looking at her opponent with a curious gaze. The waitress shows and is unarmed. Aurora frowns at this, looking around. "Master might not like this and I know diplomacy will not work here. My apologies but I'm going to end this quick." she states to her opponent, a bow in mid-air she readies herself.
A flash comes from Aurora's slipway, her swords attaching to her Jet Armor and a high energy beam rifle appears in her hands instead. Dashing forward with the thrusters of the jet carrying her, she starts pelting the area with short bursts from the rifle, an attempt to at least run the waitress off the arena's ground!
- Ms. Fortune (422) has posed:
Oh no! Lazors!
Minette is somewhat surprised as the battle begins so quickly! In fact, she barely manages to react at all, getting blasted in the chest and arms with laser fire! But... it doesn't actually seem to do that much. Huh.
"H-hey!" She glowers at the tiny shinki. "'End this quick'? That's insulting!" She reaches up under her apron, and produces... a very short broom. And then a wooden pole, which she connects to the tiny broom via a screw to produce... well.
A broom.
Which she promptly waves in Aurora's direction, attempting to thwack the shinki!
- Aurora (462) has posed:
Aurora quickly jets upwards to avoid the broom swing, not wanting to get smacked down so early. "A broom?" she questions, shaking her head "Whoever set you up to do this, watiress, needs to be fired..." she jets around quickly, taking aim at the hands and launches another stream of short laser fire in an effort to disarm the waitress!
With a quick flash, Aurora slips to her twin swords, moving to dive in close, "You should give up while you can. This is going to end in embarrasment for one of us..." she taunts, coming in close!
- Mizuki (183) has posed:
Mizuki says, "Ooohh! And Aurora opens up with a hail of ~hellfire~ from her laster rifle! Let's just hope the little server doesn't get singed!" The crowd on the Shinki's side goes wild as several shots make contact... only to be absorbed by the fishy fiend! "And what's this? From the maid's apron emerges... a BROOM! And then... a POLE! And when combined they form... a... uhm... SLIGHTLY LARGER BROOM! That looks... eh... PAINFUL, ladies and gentlemen!!" She's... visibly sweatdropping here. "With a weapon like that, Minette just might be able to clean up hou -- ... but what's this? It would appear she missed! Oh, the horror...!" And now, she's fighting to suppress a facepalm.
The pink-haired girl behind her, though, doesn't have the decency not to.
- Ms. Fortune (422) has posed:
More lasers! They impact the fishgirl's flesh, but... she is actually surprisingly sturdy, barely seeming to be burned from the laser fire! It'll probably take about ten or so hits to take her down at this rate...!
Minette huffs, altering her grip on her broom to swing it like a baseball bat instead. "Stop talking!"
- Aurora (462) has posed:
Aurora quickly adjusts course and drops down to avoid the broom-bat, shaking her head. "No." she responds in kind, "This is pitiful, sending someone with no experience in combat up against someone who is designed for it." Aurora shakes her head then puts on more thrust to her jetpack.
She quickly arches up, moving to drag her twin blades along the waitress's front, hoping to send at least some damage on her, since the laser fire didn't seem to do anything!
- Mizuki (183) has posed:
Mizuki says, "And the Shinki swoops in for /another/ series of mighty blasts from her rifle! This does NOT LOOK GOOD for the flustered fishmaid so far! But... what's THIS??" Mizuki's head swings around to look at the fish girl. "Minette GRIPS her broom! She gets into position! It looks like she's trying to play baseball, ladies and gentlemen! Will she HIT? Will she SCORE? Will it be a HOME RUN~?" Mizuki claps her hands together, waiting with baited breath... only for her to miss completely once more! "... oh, no! Lamentably she seems to have... m-missed again! Oh, what terrible luck...!"
The crowd on the Shinki's side of the stadium is still going strong! They're waving flags with her face on them! They're whistling and clapping their hands! They're doing the same on Minette's side, too, but... well, on both sides of the stadium some people have actually begun to put their hands together... in prayer. Prayer that Minette isn't hurt too badly.
- Ms. Fortune (422) has posed:
The swords... actually apparently do -less- damage. What the heck? Minette actually raises one arm, and the sword scraaaapes along the scales, producing sparks... what the hell is this fishgirl's hide MADE from, anyway? A human would be bleeding by now at least!
Minette huffs indignantly. "Y-you think something like that will take down a Dagonian?!" she tries to bluster. Okay! Remember your Junior Kung Fu! You can do this, Minette! She takes a long stance, and thruuuusts with ehr broom like a spear! Practically praying she hits.
- Aurora (462) has posed:
Aurora mutters something, watching the sparks appear from her blades on that skin. "What the heck?" she questions herself, her scanners working on trying to find some weakness to this hard-shelled woman. She backs up, pulling out her rifle once more from her slipway, that seemed to be better. The flash comes from the weapon swap and... WHACK! The broom smacks right into the Shinki and sends her flying away from the hit, twirling around and around until the thrusters kick in to right herself.
"Well then... that... that was new." she grumbles, aiming her rifle towards MInette once more and taking a few high powered shots, larger blasts coming from the high powered rifle, purple in color this time!
- Ms. Fortune (422) has posed:
More lasers! Minette is starting to get the idea that this tiny robot likes lasers. She's starting to show some more wear and tear now! And, well, her -clothes- are definitely tearing and burning in several places... oh my.
"We're designed to withstand deep ocean pressures, you know! A pair of tiny swords and laser blasts is nothing..!" she yells, bringing the broom down for and overhead slam. She's starting to get into this!
- Aurora (462) has posed:
And once more, the Shinki dashes out of the way from the slower attack, shaking her head some. "I'm sorry." she responds, backing away some as she gains altitude. Aiming downwards, her own screens are showing targeting reticles, aiming right for the hands as the laser rifle charges up for another blast. "Minette, was it? PLease forfeit!"
The laser rifle finishes it charge and lets out a massive, well to Aurora, beam again that is heading straight towards Minette's hands in a hope to disarm her, stupid broom!
- Mizuki (183) has posed:
Mizuki says, "Annndd the Shinki returns with another series of shots from her MASTER BLASTER~! Oohh, and they look purple this time! But... what could this mean, dear viewers? What effect will they have? Ah! Here they go... and... my GOODNESS! It would appear Minette has avoided the brunt of the blasts! Might she have gotten a renewed burst of energy?? Has something returned the wind to her SAILS?" Mizuki says, "Annnndddd Minette brings her broom down for yet another POWERFUL overhead strike! And again, she... misses the mark! Oh, poor Minette...!" Mizuki sighs, then adds another nigh inaudible afterthought: "... this terror of the deep might need a... /depth/ perception check, hmhm..." But when the Shinki rights herself, Mizuki's eyes go wide! "... what's this? It would appear the Shinki Aurora is finally using an attack worthy of her name! Just look at that CASCADE of COLOR~! That FLOURISH of LIGHT~! Truly, this is impressive, ladies and gentlemen! But the question now is: will it hit? The Dragonian girl can clearly take a beating, but can she take a lazer of /this/ size??"
- Ms. Fortune (422) has posed:
"Not until I get you at least once more!" Minette retorts. Her pride as a Dagonian is at stake! Her hands are hit by that laser, the waitress giving a yelp or surprise - and pain! - and snatching her hands away. Her broom clatters to the floor!
Minette pouts at the flying shinki. "This is totally unfair! I can't fly!" she grumps... then throws a metals erving tray at the shinki!
Wait, what? Where was she keeping that?
- Aurora (462) has posed:
"Very well then!" Aurora gives a light nod and the four dagger-like attack bits split off from her jet armor before thrusting over towards Minette. Soon after, Aurora is following the bits to keep them in range until suddenly , serving tray! She quickly banks to the left, the tray grazing her front, scraping her up and knocking her off course, crashing into the ground with a thud!
Aurora shakes her head a bit, floating up some. "End it." she commands, as the four attack bits start to rapidly fire purple lasers down at the Waitress, Aurora slowly floating upwards again and heading in close, a flash of slipway and back to her swords once more!
- Mizuki (183) has posed:
Mizuki says, "And here's a classic attack from anyone who works in a place of eating - a TOSS of the kitchenware! Metal meets METAL! It may not have been a perfect hit, but Minette proves ONCE and FOR ALL that she has the tossing skills of a pro!" She pauses a moment before adding, "She may not be able to fly, but that tray most certainly can~!" Her eyes grow wide as the Shinki pulls out her array of lazers. "Look at that purple fly! If we were further North, I would say there were /TWO/ auroras on the field now~!"
- Ms. Fortune (422) has posed:
Minette is assault by lasers! It feels like dozens but it's probably only like four. Still! The lasers are starting to leave their mark, now, the fishgirl's tough hide evidently no match for repeated pummeling!
She grits her teeth. "This isn't over YET!" she cries, dashing forward to pick up her broom - and swing upwards with it in an attempt to smack Aurora as she's diving.
- Mizuki (183) has posed:
Mizuki says, "Ohh! But out of the field of dust and lazers comes MINETTE! She is determined ladies and gentlemen! No matter how much punishment she takes, she RETURNS! No many how many times she's burned, you can't KEEP HER DOWN! She looks beat - and her dress might need a little mending - but here she comes! And with her broom, she chaaarges in... and smacks the Shinki! Ooohh, that's gotta hurt! I think I heard the sound of wood hitting metal from HERE! It's a good thing robots can't get bruises~!"
- Aurora (462) has posed:
"No, it is over." she whispered, the broom sending her upwards once more as those lasers continue to rain down on the fishwomanthing. Her thrusters kick in once more to recover, scuffs and such everywhere upon her. "Master's gonna have to paint me again..." though the tone on that suggested joy over inconvinence!
Down the Shinki goes one more, swords at the ready, the shinki a purple streak in the air before she tries crashing into the fishwomanthing, blades first, and in hopes to dig the two blades in and rip them out in an upswing!
- Mizuki (183) has posed:
Mizuki says, "Oh... my GOODNESS, dear viewers~! Here she comes, purple trailing behind her! And... oh! She's readying her swords and coming in for the strike! Can Minette dodge it?? Here she comes! And... and... it's a HIT! Oh, that HAS to HURT! The blades hit her square in the chest...! How is the fish maid going to come back from this...?"
- Ms. Fortune (422) has posed:
Blades come down.
Blades rip through Minette's tough hide (FINALLY), and take a rather large chunk of flesh out of her chest.
Minette looks down. She's bleeding! Quite a lot! But she's still standing. "...Oh. ... Yeah this is over," she agrees, in a surprisingly calm voice! "...I... think I might have gotten a little carried away there."
Wha- is she -bowing-? What the hell?!
- Aurora (462) has posed:
Aurora's weapons dissapear. "MEDICS!" she calls out, looking at Minette with a frown. "MEDICS NOW! This fight's over." she flies backwards a bit, looking at the bowing waitress. "You're forfeiting, yes? Whomever set you up for this needs a lesson in what not to do... this wasn't right."
Aurora bows herself in mid air, looking at Minette from up above. "I'm sorry I had to do this to you, it wasn't right... I hope your 'friend' or who set you up understands that you could have been killed. You're not suited for fighting, please go back to the resturant you came from..."
- Ms. Fortune (422) has posed:
Minette stands back up, and rubs the back of her head. "Haha... died? Come on now, I'm not -that- fragi-" she suddenly stumbles forward a it, and catches herself on her broom. "...Wooo, blood loss... yeah I need to go lay down..."
- Mizuki (183) has posed:
Mizuki says, "But how will Minette respond /this/ time? Will she try another swat of her broom? Will she send the Shinki flying out of the stadium? ... no? No, it appears that she is... bowing! Is this a ritual required for some kind of SPECIAL ATTACK? Is it a show of respect acquired on the merciless BATTLEFIELD?? What could it MEAN, dear viewers?" Mizuki bends over to address the pink-haired girl again.
Slightly muffled, "... did she say 'this is over'? What, is she forfeiting?" And then... Aurora confirms this for her. Mizuki straightens up and puts the microphone back to her lips. "... wh-what is /this/ ladies and gentlemen? It appears... that... Minette has -forfeited-! And that would mean..."
- Mizuki (183) has posed:
Mizuki continues, "... that the winner is AURORA! CONGRATULATIONS, my dear! You ~ have ~ EARNED it~!"
- Aurora (462) has posed:
The announcement that she earned this win is unsettling. Wrong feeling. She'll put on the happy face though and wave at the cheering fans, making a few loops into the air to appease them. "I'll do my best next round. Especially for you, Minette."
- Mizuki (183) has posed:
The room is dark. Somber, though this word could be applied almost universally to all that dwells here. The light filtering in through the mighty stained glass window high above dances down to a lone woman whose tiny, dainty fingers are tapping the outside covers of books as she walks by. Her expression is soft, yet mysterious. Her steps are light.
"Where are you..." She murmurs. She has been at this for quite some time. It is no trifling thing, misplacing such a precious memento when your house is so large. But she is determined to find it, and she will; the house is designed to aid its master, after all. Eventually, as her small heels clack against the colorful tiles of the library, she stops. A book rattles in place, and the eyes of the wandering lady light up just slightly.
"Ah! There you are~!" Clasping her hands together in delight, she skips over to the elusive tome, quickly opening it up and reading. Her smile is warm, wide, and genuine. Her eyes are pure. This is the self that she would never let anyone outside of her world see - the soul of a girl, not the masque of a witch or a princess. Finding this lost little gem was like finding a long lost friend. Or... no. She /was/ finding a long lost friend, many of them. These books were worlds. Her homes. This world, too, is a book... and she has begun to forget this.
'But is that for the best?' she wonders.
Suddenly, she shuts the cover again. There is once in every story where the temptation to become a more permanent part of it crops up. And there is at least once where she acknowledges this. But no, she can't. If she did, she might lose this; she might never be able to return here or visit all of these worlds again. But this 'Multiverse'... the lady smirks. She recalls an old human saying, adding her own spin to it:
'This is my Multiverse. There are many like it, but this one is mine.'
She squeezes the book she had shut tightly to her chest. All of the people she had met until now were fascinating. Some of them... she had liked more than herself. But there comes a time in every author's - and every reader's - life when they feel this way, yes? When they wish they were more like one of the characters? Yes, she affirms for herself, this is natural. And maybe, just maybe, knowing these people would make her a better person? She can only hope as much. But for now... she should rest. She gingerly places the book back on the shelf, silently promising not to forget where she had put it this time. And then... she yawns. She flutters her eyelashes a few times, ever so slightly surprised.
It is a curious thing when a being like herself becomes tired, but as she herself had said, she had felt her clock beginning to tick again. Maybe, just maybe, her humanity was coming back to the surface? But that question could not be answered now. No... for now...
... this is goodnight.
