- Project MORDRED (804) has posed:
A low key tournament qualifier in the Diablo Desert. To most members of the audience, it's likely to be one of many; some however, may be invested in the performance of one (or both) competitors. The first arrives flying in, already inside his armour. MORDRED makes sure to apply some showmanship, his main thrusters leaving behind a rainbow trail as he comes in, and bowing to the stands as he lands on the desert grounds. He doesn't say a word, however.
- Blurr has posed:
Blurr comes speeding across the desert expanse in his hover speeder form, sand whirling up behind him almost like a miniature dust storm. He arrives at the arena's location, waving to the audience, wherever they may be sitting, as he is so accustomed to doing. He sighs at his opponent, however. If it'd been up to him, this guy probably wouldn't have been his first pick.
- Project MORDRED (804) has posed:
"Let's not delay this and get this match dealt with." MORDRED says, clearly he doesn't think he'll enjoy this fight either. He draws his XTE Lancepack and mounts it under his arm as his combat thrusters engage, lifting him off barely, easily missed; but already improving his response capabilities. "Ready whenever you are, dishonourable cur of a Blurr."
- Blurr has posed:
For once Blurr can agree with MORDRED. No point in wasting time waiting around. "Yeah let's just get this over with." he mutters, shrugging as he draws his weapons to fire off the first shots at his opponent.
- Project MORDRED (804) has posed:
The first few shots land as MORDRED starts charging his weapon, he ducks and weaves some to minimize the damage, but it's still scraping off part of his armour, leaving him more vulnerable for the later stages of the fight. The XTE Lancepack finishes a quick charge, and though it's not the full of superheated plasma fired in a full shot, it's a good amount of firepower to start out as MORDRED reacquaints himself with Blurr's fighting style.
- Blurr has posed:
It's a good amount of firepower, but only a bit of it manages to scrape the top of Blurr's shoulder as he quickly strafes sideways to get out of the way, while at the same time attempting to move in a bit closer and flank Mordred to nail him in the side before he can react.
- Project MORDRED (804) has posed:
It's in the front instead, where the armour is thicker, but it still hurts a good chunk. MORDRED flies back, and as he does so he starts charging up more energy. Keeping the lancepack firmly mounted, he circles around Blurr for a brief moment as it charges, before rushing in and firing a normal-size blast of superheated plasma from melee range.
- Blurr has posed:
As Mordred runs in circles, Blurr doesn't appear disoriented or fazed by the move at all. The reason he can move so fast is because he can think equally fast. He watches as his opponent circles and charges the lancepack, easily keeping track of the other's movements. Thus, when the plasma finally comes, he manages to twist out of the way again, though it does manage to scorch the armor on his side. "I sincerely hope that's not the best you can do." Now that Mordred is in melee range he goes for a more physical attack, aiming to dislodge or damage the lancepack he's holding.
- Project MORDRED (804) has posed:
The lancepack is kicked out of Glare-NT's hands, the arm holding it showing some serious damage. The weapon keeps flying off until its own thrusters kick in and return it to the Armour's back. MORDRED does not seem to be discouraged by it. "You know it's not." He answers, drawing and attacking with his Monofilament Broadsword in one, swift motion. Well-practiced, he's done this before.
- Blurr has posed:
The broadsword appears to do a lot more damage, slicing across the front of Blurr's chassis. He stumbles backward, a large gash having been torn into his torso. Lavender-colored fuel spews from the wound, splattering onto the ground and coating Mordred's weapon as well.
Recovering quickly however, the speedster smirks a little. "Now -that's- more like it. Quit holding back. After all, I'm no waterbag." No offense to all you humans watching. Really.
The Autobot moves quickly again, attempt to dart behind him and shoot him in the back.
- Project MORDRED (804) has posed:
MORDRED is no waterbag either, and his responses are as fast as he can process them. Being an AI has its advantages, and he barely fails to dodge the shot, it glances off and leaves a narrow, but obvious, gash in his Armour's head. The dodge is combined with a forewards onslaught, the main thrusters enabling to give this charge extra velocity, at the cost of some maneuverability, to drive that massive yet insanely thin blade as deep into Blurr as he can get it.
- Blurr has posed:
Oh, that would've hurt for sure if it had hit no doubt. Such is not so, however, as Blurr saw the move coming and manages to jump out of the way and completely avoid damage. "Too slow!" The Autobot laughs, chuckling. "Geez, one of these cycles I'm gonna get tired of saying that!" Not really.
As he dodges the onslaught, he extends one arm toward his opponent, firing sideways in the other AI's direction as he charges past.
- Project MORDRED (804) has posed:
MORDRED barely gets hit by it, the attack doing little more than a scratch. "Too slow!" The man who would be king answers in kind, letting his XTE Lancepack charge up while on his back as he rushes in for another attack with his blade, the weapon moving for a genuine strike at Blurr, but followed up almost immediately by rapidly drawing the ranged weapon and firing the supercharged plasma from close range again.
- Blurr has posed:
"Oh yeah? Beat me in a race, then!" Blurr counters, once again twisting out of the way of the plasma, though the blade puts a few more scratches in him. None of them are nearly as deep or severe as the previous melee, though. Jumping back, he puts a bit of distance between himself and Mordred, converting to his vehicle form before driving straight at his opponent in an attempt to knock him off his feet and hopefully run him over.
- Project MORDRED (804) has posed:
That hurt. MORDRED can feel it inside his Armour, and the Armour took most of that beating, several parts of it deeply dented, and even some tears into the plating. Glare-NT is in fact ran over, but this is in part allowed. He fires his plasma rifle again while this is going on, hoping to drive that plasma right through Blurr's chasis from that close up. After that, he gets back up again, and uses his combat thrusters to go airborne.
- Blurr has posed:
The plasma does indeed go through Blurr's undercarriage as he's zooming past, burning a gaping hole down there as well. Unfortunately for him, he doesn't have as much armor plating down there as he does elsewhere, so that definitely hurt. What's worse, Mordred starts flying around in the air, where he can't go.
Well, he can't go up there himself, but he can make -other- things go up there. Like sand. A -lot- of sand. The hoverspeeder starts driving rapidly in circles, causing a massive swirling sand cyclone of sorts to rise out of the dunes. The faster he goes, the stronger the winds!
- Project MORDRED (804) has posed:
After the first sand starts kicking up, MORDRED goes up ever higher, the sand does hit him, and hurt him, but by the time this whole thing is in full swing, MORDRED is beyond its full reach. And, up there, he has plenty time to charge up his Lancepack, and so he does. He lets it charge up to full strength, not normal strength, and calculates Blurr's trajectory before firing a shot, hoping the sand that is being kicked up prevents Blurr from being able to see the attack in time to respond.
- Blurr has posed:
The plasma hits home, knocking Blurr completely off course. The sand disperses and starts to fall, hanging in the air like a cloud for a few seconds before returning to the ground and preventing the Autobot from seeing the shot coming before it was too late, the blast ripping wounds afresh and exacerbating the injury to his already damaged torso.
But as the attack drives him back, he pulls out his electro-laser at the same time and fires upward in the direction the shot came, aiming to temporarily knock out the Glare-NT's propulsion systems and cause its joints to lock up, hence exposing it to the full brunt of fall damage from such a height.
- Project MORDRED (804) has posed:
MORDRED gets out of the way of that electro-laser as he charges towards Blurr at maximum velocity, using gravity to assist his dive. Monofilament broadsword in one hand, XTE lancepack in the other, he fires a supercharged blast of plasma, overriding safety limits to do so, as he gets close. This is timed so that less than a quarter of a second after the plasma would impact, the Monofilament broadsword is going to drive a lot of velocity and mass into a very tiny point at the center of where he aimed his plasma.
- Blurr has posed:
"Frag it!" Blurr curses as the stun beam misses Mordred completely. Well, the speedster never was an excellent marksman or anything. His strong suit lies in his agility, which immediately begins to work in his favor, now that the sand has settled and the skies are clear. He saw it from a long way off, true, but he waits until the last possible astrosecond to actually jump out of the way.
Not only that, but in the spot where he just was, he's left a 'small' grenade. Well it's small by Cybertronian standards, but since the Glare-NT is a bit smaller than the typical Cybertronian, it will certainly pack a punch if Mordred doesn't manage to pull up fast enough.
- Project MORDRED (804) has posed:
MORDRED notices the grenade before it goes off, but his velocity makes him dash right into it anyway. All he can do is brace for, and weather the impact. It's not an ideal way to handle it, but it minimizes the still massive damage to MORDRED's systems. He starts charging his Lancepack as he chases, his internal systems warning him. "Two hundred percent overcharge, safety limiters engaging." To which he responds, broadcasted for all to hear, "Override safety limiters." Then at four hundred overcharge, the lancepack itself looks like it's about to melt, glowing red-hot all over, and MORDRED fires. The oversized, overheated plasma blast aimed to deal critical damage to Blurr. Hit or miss, the lancepack looks like it's in need of repairs now.
- Blurr has posed:
The plasma once again hits Blurr, just as he is diving for cover behind some rocks. The rocks aren't sturdy enough though, and end up melting all over him. The molten slag burns into his body, and falls to the ground. Though he sits back up, barely, he throws his arms in the air. "Alright alright. You win, okay?" Pff, this was such a waste of time. He'd much rather be racing. "-Congratulations.-" he mutters.
- Project MORDRED (804) has posed:
MORDRED actually does a doubletake, seeming surprised that Blurr has given up. "You seem like you could still fight, but if you wish to cede victory to me, I will not turn it down." He sheathes the Monofilament broadsword, and places his Lancepack back on the Armour's back. "Good luck in the loser's bracket, I wish you the best." He even sounds like he means it.
- Blurr has posed:
"I wish there were a racing event." Blurr says to no one in particular. "Gladiatorial combat is so overrated. And I don't -need- luck or best wishes, either, especially not from -you-." He then drives off in a huff. Hopefully next time, he'll be up against someone he hasn't already seen.
