Synopsis:	An attack on Phase Rock, with the hope of taking it from Confederate hands.

Lowell Fenris has posed:
On the island with the Phase Rock, Faolon waits quietly. He came here to escape some of the noise, and has decided to take a shift protecting the scientists charging the numerous weapons which require power. Large batteries cycle in and out via transports, making good use of the time they have with the rock. Faolon sits under a tent that's been constructed, staring intensely out at the ocean, as if he was ready to fight the waves themselves. His legs are crossed, but he's hardly in a meditative trance, always brewing about something.

Waves.

In all his life, Lowell Fenris has never had the opportunity to listen to the sound of waves until now, but this garrison duty has given him plenty of time to grow accustomed to the sound as the waves beat against the lower torso of the Ashsaber.

Standing not too far off from shore in order to give the scientists the room to maneuver their transports, the Shadow Mirror mech stands silently, half submerged in the sea with rifle held high as it scans the horizon like some great, monolithic statue as water lapse at it futile, while inside Lowell sits quietly at the controls. It is not often that he has a chance to reflect, but the ocean has a way of inspiring deep thought in the minds of mortals.

Kain has posed:
So, this is what human's call 'tranquility'. Kain was also on the island, looking out along the ocean. He had not stopped to admire such in so long, it was a surprise. He regretted that it was so fatal to his kind, but shrugged it. The price of immortality, he thought.

Haruno Sakura has posed:
Sakura sighs, as she walks along near the Rock, running a hand through her hair. Things have been so stressful lately, she's glad for a nice chance to inspect defenses and pretend she really cared much about them. These battlegrounds always seemed to pass back and forth; truthfully, much of the defense were mere pawns, but it's easy work and someone has to do it… Not that she's paying it much mind.

Damien-099 has posed:
The tranquil island is about to become a war zone. Over the horizon, a series of small dots appear. These dots, however, are getting larger with each passing moment. Anyone with a pair of binoculars or a sniper's scope would be able to tell what these approaching things are. It's a flight of UNSC Pelican drop ships, flying in a wedge formation. Standing in the back of the lead drop ship, Spartan-099 checks over his weapons loadout again. Inside of his helmet, he smirks faintly, and gives a nod to the pilot. She grins back, and flips a switch on her console.

Over the Pelican's loudspeakers, music begins to play, loud enough for the Fed defenders on the island to hear it. What song is it, one might wonder? Well, anyone who's seen Apocalypse Now should recognize the song. Ride of the Valkyries. Damien keys up over local UNSC comm., <All Pelicans, you are cleared hot. Engage all hostile Confederate targets and clear a landing zone.> The Pelicans increase speed, moving inwards towards the island. Then once they are within range, all of the drop ships fire at once, the streaks of ten missiles flying ahead of the vehicles, aiming to impact in any visible anti-air emplacements, or anything that might hinder the drop off of their precious cargo.

Terry McGinnis is here as well, onboard one of the Pelican's. Looking at Damien, "Are all of those weapons really necessary?" he asks the Spartan as he checks his systems. While he waits, for the drop to occur, he thinks as he looks at those who might also be here on the ship. "So, this is Phase Rock?" he asks as he looks at it. "What's so special about it?" he adds.

Winry Rockbell has posed:
Also aboard one of the Pelicans is a figure who looks, at a passing glance, a little like a very different kind of SPARTAN, to the extent that the figure in question is wearing powered armor and carrying a rifle. However, the figure is discernibly female, and her armor is a good bit sleeker and less bulky than the MJOLNIR armor which is standard issue for SPARTANs. And for the moment, she's just waiting for her cue to disembark and get into the fray personally, monitoring what she can of the situation and trying to pick her target in advance ...

Iria has posed:
Last, but not least, is Iria, who's in her bounty hunter gear, and is arming herself with her blaster and rifle, while adding a couple of grenades to her belt. Iria doesn't have any kind of mobile armor, but to her that's fine, since she's pretty much the type of person who prefers to strike on foot. For now, she's got her personal craft ready for deployment, although the design is rather bizarre. It's almost like a chair underneath an umbrella with a rudder on the back, and a pair of handles jutting down from the umbrella to allow Iria to control it. It can also be converted into a pseudo-hang glider, where Iria faces forward in a prone position while using the bars for control and to hold onto. Either way, it's how she's gonna drop into action!

Faolon has posed:
Faolon spots the incoming ships immediately. He stands to his feet, glances over to see Sakura. "We have company," he says, pulling a blade from his sheath. A rapier. He's feeling a little more elegant today perhaps. He walks until his feet reach the shore, the water gently lapping at the souls of his shoes. He waits, knowing that the pelicans will drop their troops soon enough.

Well, so much for that moment of peace.

Lowell Fenris has posed:
Without even a moment of hesitation or irritation, Lowell Fenris switches on his active targeting systems as he detects units inbound on their position.

"Enemy units inbound on attack vector. Scanning... multiple armed transports. Engaging."

Like some waking beast, the Ashsaber begins to move, water sloffing off it's frame as it slowly rises out of the water. As it does so, Fenris brings up his rifle and unleashes a burst from it at the inbound missiles, detonating several mid-flight.

Haruno Sakura has posed:
An attack. Of COURSE there's an attack; the union bastards have no courtesy or kindness in their souls. Sakura sighs deeply, watching the incoming forces, moving her hands in a series of quick seals to conceal herself. Sakura isn't anti-aircraft; she's going to do her best to kill off the invading officers once they land. Phase Rock, after all, pales in comparison to the goal of downing Union elites.

Kain has posed:
Kain draws forth the reaver, merely watching. He had expected the union to shatter such peace. Blinking as the missile's grew close, he waited to see if they would hit their target, or be stopped.

Damien-099 has posed:
"Yes." The Spartan replies to Batman, "And this island is a source of power. Something we need to deny the Confederates. I normally would suggest the obvious, destroying the island with a HAVOK nuclear mine." He says this as if using a multi-kiloton nuke is no big deal, "However, other members of the Union would prefer to use the energy produced on this island for our own advantages. So we have to assault and take the island." A few

of the missiles are struck down from midair, and the pilot reports over the dropship's speakers, <Landing's gonna be hot, kids! Keep your heads down!> One of the Marines in the back of the dropship hops up and gets on the heavy machinegun mounted in the doorway as the door opens up, <Landing in five! Four! Three! Two!...TOUCHDOWN! GO!> The moment that familiar feeling of the dropship touching down hits, the Spartan leaps through the open hatch, and rushes forward towards the incoming Confederate forces.

Winry Rockbell has posed:
The female in the powered armor (Winry, although you wouldn't know it unless you've seen her in her G-Armor before) follows Damien-099 out of the hatch, and heads in one specific direction: towards the Ashsaber. It might look like a stupid move, but Winry's been paying attention to some of her recent lessons ... and with her background and training, this isn't so different from targeting specific points on a human body, except for two things. The mecha is a bigger target than any human foe, and in this case she *wants* to aim for what might be "fatal" wounds on a human - disabling the mecha won't hurt the pilot. The HUD inside her helmet visor shifts from scanning to targeting as she runs, and as soon as she's in range, she squeezes off a couple of shots, aiming for the wrist of the Ashsaber's rifle hand ...

Terry McGinnis looks as everyone jumps out, "Wait, we are doing an aerial drop?" he asks. "I thought this vehicle was landing on the ground," and some of the marines shake their head, as one looks at Batman.

"Your not even armored," he asks Terry and Terry just smirks.

"I take it you have never seen Batman before," and he jumps out as well, two red wing popping out form under his arms as thrusters fire from his boots and he flies downward and finds Fao in the open. "Lets dance," he comments as he sends two batarangs at him, that fire from hidden the Batsuit and these are your normal Batarangs. Giving Terry a chance to judge just who he is going up against.

Iria has posed:
The strange glider comes down towards the surface at a rather fast rate of speed. In fact, it looks like Iria might crash! But she levels out and actually ejects from the glider, dropping to the ground and rolling as she lands, while the glider, apparently on some kind of autopilot, returns to the dropship. Even if it doesn't, they're replaceable.

As soon as she finishes dusting herself off, she turns and finds she's staring at a familiar face - Kain. A slight grin forms on Iria's face as she draws her blaster and fires a shot, while saying, "Long time no see! But too bad it's like this!"

Lowell Fenris has posed:
Rounds impact against the Ashsaber's arm, dangerously close to the actuators that control the mech's motor functions in the hands. Still, the hand doesn't loosen it's grip as the armor proves sufficient to keep the underlining systems intact.

Lowell does notice the armored person's accuracy and engages his thrusters, rising up fully out of the water and into the sky. He has since learned that you can't take people on foot lightly, and he doesn't intend to give Winry a chance to scamper up his mech and plant charges or anything like that.

Once out of possible grappling reach of his foe, Lowell switches over to his Fire Dagger micro missile launchers, popping open the two hatches before raining several dozen rockets down on Winry from above.

Kain is drilled in the arm hard by the shot." It has. But I fear things will end on a different note." He then rushes at Iria, reaver in position for a rather nice meeting with her gun arm.

Winry Rockbell has posed:
Winry's G-Armor disappears amongst the explosions ... but emerges again, thrusters boosting her jump as she tries to shoot inside one of those missile launchers before it can lock down behind an armored cover again. It's taking a risk, but if it works - well, there's a reason why missile launchers *DO* usually have some kind of cover, usually heavy enough to protect the ordnance inside ...

Faolon swats the first batarangs out of the sky as he watches the Batman descend. He catches the second one, piercing it with the rapier. He holds it close to himself, examining it for a moment and then taking the weapon off. "Boomerangs?" he asks. "That's a different type of weapon." He dashes forward, remarkably fast considering the number of blades that he carries. His feet make massive splashes as they meet with the water and sand, heavy strides. He sidesteps just as it looks certain he will lunge, and then makes a stab from the side of Terry, aiming for the under arm.

Haruno Sakura has posed:
The ninja watches the attackers dropping in onto the isle, selecting one out to target... And, with a flick of her wrist, throwing a number of kunai at Damien, trying to impale him before he can even progress into the battle. It probably won't actually take him out, of course, if he's an elite... But slowing them down and warming up the blood a bit is worthwhile!

Lowell Fenris has posed:
The hatches are quick to snap shut again as Lowell deftly slides his machine backwards so that the shots aimed at his chest now soar over his head instead, before detaching two of his Sword Breakers from his shoulder mounts. The tactic of using the weapons pods in conjunction with his mech to provide distractions and opportunities of crossfire’s proved successful in his last engagement, though at the moment the pods aren't doing anything other than flying around being menacing as Fenris switches back to his Gun Rapier rifle and tries to nail Winry with a flurry of energy bolts.

Iria has posed:
The strike does get Iria in her arm, and she drops her gun as she holds her wounded arm in pain, grunting a little. However, despite what may seem like it takes a minute to recover from, Iria's back in action in less than half a second. She grabs her gun back up but doesn't shoot again. Instead, she throws a swift kick at Kain in an upwards arc.

Winry Rockbell has posed:
Winry braces as she sees the incoming volley from the Ashsaber's rifle, as well as the launching of the Sword Breakers ... and it looks like she took a direct hit; the G-Armor goes flying backwards, thrusters flaring to try and brake her backwards momentum. But a direct hit to a personal powered suit shouldn't have left enough to even LOOK intact ...

Unless of course you notice the energy shield which now surrounds the armor. Winry glances up and around briefly, trying to track the Sword Breakers, but her main target is the Ashsaber itself, and even before she fully recovers control of her direction, she's resumed firing, rapid-fire pulses of green-tinged energy beams lancing across the distance.

Lowell Fenris has posed:
The Ashsaber shudders as energy blasts scatter all across it's armor, gouging chunks in it's moderate armor as Lowell drops back down to ground level and half submerges in the water. In most cases, energy weapons have a limited effect in water, and he's counting on that to prove some cover as he takes aim with his beam rifle again and unleashes a second salvo, with the two Sword Breaker drones joining in from two other directions while their independent AIs make sure not to catch each other with friendly fire.

Terry McGinnis looks and grins, "Sorry," he says. "But I was out of those," he adds as he grabs the sword and pivots out of the way as he sends a punch towards Faolon's face. "It will take more than that to get me," he states to him as he gets ready for the next attack.

Kain was staggered back by the kick, but shook it off. Smirking, he used his TK to wrap up Iria and lift her up, only to bring her back to earth...roughly.

Faolon has posed:
As Terry grabs the sword, Faolon reaches up and anticipates the coming punch, catching the fist. He then spins, hoping that between the grip on the sharp blade and Faolon's grip on the fist, it will cause the young hero the hero to spin as well, and then fall on his face into the surf. "What exactly are you supposed to be dressed as, anyway?" he adds, maintaining the conversation. "A black rabbit or something?"

Winry Rockbell has posed:
This time, the Ashsaber's three-point barrage elicits an audible cry of pain (or anger?) from Winry as her G-Armor gets pummeled - and she didn't have her shield ready that time, so the damage is more severe. But the panel on her breastplate is glowing emerald by now ... and while she's crouching, she pauses to key in a quick command on a shielded pad. The cover closes again, and Winry gets back to her feet, but the armor is already starting to crackle with energy ... powered up.

Winry Rockbell changed her armor mode to G-Hypermode.

Lowell Fernis has posed:
Lowell narrows his eyes as he zooms in on the armored opponent, and notices the systems beginning to discharge energy. Fearing a possible overload or an attack, Lowell braces himself... but even as he does so, the independent Sword Breakers continue to buzz around Winry, occasionally taking a potshot at her.

Iria has posed:
Telekinesis, huh? Great trick. Too bad it's not going to work with Iria. The bounty hunter evades the telekinetic attempt to grab her and slam her with great agility, proving that sometimes even mental power isn't good if you can't think as fast as Iria can move.

Speaking of moving, Iria decides to pull back a little and draw her blaster again, firing off another shot at Kain.

Terry McGinnis blinks a he meets the surf, face first. "Black rabbit???" he states and looks and grabs some sand that he throws at Faolon's face a he comes up for a punch tot he gut, "Sorry, the Black Rabbit was taken already," he states to him. "But you may call me," he starts. "Batman," he finishes as the punch is sent to the gut.

Yet another impact on the vampire lord. He shook it off and rushed at Iria, seeing as that worked before. The blade would be aimed at her chest this time. Yes...Kain is deprived and a very lonely old vampire.

The kunai thrown by Sakura impact with Damien, but just bounce off with a slight flaring of his energy shields. Throwing knives against a Spartan? That's like shooting a bullet at a tank. Well, actually, shooting a bullet at a Spartan is almost the same thing. He pretty much is a tank. The big armored man rushes right at Sakura, "Your time here is through!" He calls out through the helmet's speakers, and kicks one big boot out towards her, aiming to plant it square in her chest.

Winry Rockbell has posed:
The G-Armor leaps away from the Sword Breakers' fire, jumping higher than before - and not just due to the thrusters apparently getting a modest boost as well. At the peak of her jump, Winry opens fire again - her rifle now releasing larger, more potent energy bursts, and aiming for the Ashsaber's neck. Like any humanoid-shape mecha, taking the head off might not be 'fatal' to the machine but it'll take out a bunch of sensors ...

Iria has posed:
The chest? Bad choice! Yes, Iria's got extra protection there, but that's not what the matter here is. The point here is that Kain attempted to strike Iria in a place where you don't strike a girl ever. And once Iria's recovered from the blow, you can imagine that she's mighty angry now. In fact, as soon as she's recovered, she immediately springs at Kain with her elbow extended, attempting to strike him in the chest!

Faolon has posed:
Faolon reaches up to block the sand coming to his face, but it costs him the defense to his gut as he takes the punch. He stumbles back a step or two out of the water, and then pulls his sword as if to stab, but feints, and then delivers with a roundhouse kick. "Batman? That's even better. Might I ask why you chose to dress up as a bat to fight people?"

Kain was nailed, but flowed with the impact. He quickly brought the pommel of the reaver up to give Iria a vampiric facial.

Haruno Sakura has posed:
The kick lands hard into Sakura, sending her falling back. She rolls back up and onto her feet, taking a pair of kunai attached to chains from her back. She throws the pair at the Spartan, blue chakra running through them, sharpening beyond the normal limits of metal... Maybe that can break through the shield, or so she hopes.

Terry McGinnis looks as he is hit by the roundhouse to the head and staggers slightly as he hits a button on his waist, "Its the one thing that men fear," he says to him as he is no longer there. "So, what is the one thing you fear?" he asks as he punches Faolon in the back, with what felt like blades....

Now, the chakra powered kunai does have an effect, as it punches through the shield and sticks into the right side of the Spartan's chest. He grunts a bit, and then yanks the small blade out and lets the medi-gel fill the wound. He squeezes it within his hand and crushes it, "Playtime's over, girl." Why does he always end up fighting against small children? What kind of fucked up universe is this? Oh well. He grabs a hold of the M90 maglocked to his back, racking a round into the chamber as he brings it around to bear on young Sakura, "This is where we part ways." And then, boom! The shotgun goes off, sending ten gauge buck flying right at her.

Unfortunately, Iria's not in the mood for a facial. As soon as Kain attempts to grab her, Iria jumps back as well and then goes for the stomach with a well-timed kick!

Faolon has posed:
Faolon's hands aren't fast enough to move to where Terry suddenly appeared, but the voice gives his location away Faolon tucks away from the attack, even though he can't see it, and kicks the sand in the air to find his foe's precise location. He takes a long swipe at the location that he can best establish, which would leave him open except that he pulls a shortsword into his other hand, bringing a guard to both sides of his body. "The one thing I fear already happened," he says dryly, with a slight bitterness. "And it was far more real than being afraid of a flying mouse."

Haruno Sakura has posed:
The Spartan is probably expecting the ninja to disappear into a fine red mist, and that's true to some degree... It's just that, instead of blood, it seems to be a wave of cherry blossoms. A second or two after the blast goes through, Sakura reappears, thrusting the pair of knives forward again in a ripping motion, trying to force them through the armor and shields to rip at the sensitive bits inside.

Kain easily dodged the kick. "Still trying to be better than you are." he taunted, before bringing the blade of the reaver down towards Iria's knee.

Damien-099 has posed:
Stupid ninjas. Always being all dodgy and not dying. Well, Damien can fix that. Sure, she dodged the shotgun blast and stabbed him. And it hurts, of course. But he's trained to show no pain. So despite the obvious pain of being stabbed, he whips the butt of the shotgun around to try to strike her in the head with it. That should get her off of him long enough to get a good shot in with another weapon.

Terry McGinnis looks as takes the hit from the blade as he thinks. "Oh come on, you can do better than that," he has to say as he drops the cloak and smirks. "What is the man with the swords afraid of as he moves in closer and jumps followed by the foot that is head for him....

Kain has posed:
Iria's got knee pads on her legs, which means kneecapping her won't hurt as much as a normal person. But either way, she doesn't let Kain have his way with her either. Iria jumps up and attempts to strike Kain with a spinning kick on the way down!

FAolon has posed:
Faolon takes the hit, and is set off his footing, sliding back into the sand. He unsnaps his pauldrons to release some weight, and then shrugs them off as he gets to his feet. He grins slyly. "Am I supposed to have an irrational fear of something that you can use against me? I must have missed the memo." He checks his jaw, and then flicks the short sword at the Batman, spiraling toward his chest.

Kain has posed:
Kain hit the ground roughly. The vampire would then flip himself in a circle and up onto his legs. Kain would then again go for TK power! He would wrap Iria again, spun her, and then tried to slam her into the ground.

Haruno Sakura has posed:
Sakura's only able to do so much of the dodging, apparently, as the butt of the shotgun clobbers her in the side of the head, sprawling her out for the moment. She rubs a hand along the wound that causes, blood staining her hand as she does so, and forms a seal. Another wave of cherry blossoms fall around Damien as she does so, slicing in, trying to further damage the armor and the one who's wearing it. An illusion, in part, but one with actual teeth from her chakra.

Iria has posed:
No go, Kain. Iria dodges the incoming attack once again, thanks to her bounty hunter's agility. She shakes her head and tsks for a moment. "You really don't understand the concept of battling, do you, Kain? But what should I expect from a Confederate?" And with that, she shoulder charges Kain!

Kain has posed:
Bad move, iria. Kain rushed right at her, sword angled at the side. He then carved out a series of very quick slashes, followed by a bash from the blunt end of the reaver.

She's hit by each of the slashes, and then the blunt attack knocks her to the ground, leaving her dazed as blood seeps from her nose and her eyes are half-shut. But then she regains her composure and gets back onto her feet, albeit a bit weaker now than she was before.

Still undaunted, Iria decides to give Kain a taste of revenge, Iria-style! She jumps back and tosses a small grenade at Kain. It may look simple, but it will actually detonate in a series of small explosions, but the combined force should hurt!

Terry McGinnis looks as he brings up his arm to block and takes the hit. "Possibly," he says to him," as he grunts under the hit. "But I have been trained that there are always ways to win, without killing," he says. "Such as subduing and beating them to submission," he says as he thinks and rushes forward in an attempt to tackle Faolon and if he is able to, he will activate the boots and lift him into the air, about 7 feet and will attempt to throw him into the ground.

And form the sound of it, you are nothing more than a tool to those you work for." and he smirks. "You make me sick," he says as he double sup a fist. He powers forward, still gripping the leg, and then changes direction, attempting to throw the Batman to the ground, Faolon's shoulder firm against his gut to increase the impact, and then bounce off and back to his feet.

Terry McGinnis impacts the ground and looks, "Actually," he says as he lays there, some blood coming off his jaw. "Anarchy is what you have," he says. "Unlike you," he says. "I and the Union do not try to over power those whoa re unable to defend themselves and say it is order. That is dominating. If you dominate someone, than you are no better than those who hurt others for their own gain," and with that, he stands. He than rushes forward, jumping as the rockets fire and he hopes to slam into Faolon and send him into the ground.

Faolon grunts as he is struck by the force, dropping his katana. The conversation is old, he's carried it on before. As he goes down though, he holds onto Terry, and then rolls to the side, trying to pin Terry to the ground as telekinetically his rapier and fallen katana come returning to him, and dive down at the superhero, one to each shoulder. Highly painful, but to prove that he himself does not necessarily enjoy killing. "And here a moment ago you called me a pawn. I love the consistent accusations."

Terry McGinnis is held and sees the blades coming and he breaks the hold and bends backwards, "Well, from my point of view, I did not try to kill you, only knock you out," he says as he continues to bend backwards, and as he does, his feet come up in an attempt to back flip, hitting Faolon with is feet. If this works, he will land on his back and from the prone position, will push off, back to his feet. Even if this does not hit, he will do the same thing and end up crouching in a position.

"Why not retreat," he says. "I can either defeat you or let you leave. Your choice," he states simply.

Faolon laughs, rolling away from the attack and up to his feet. "Well, you fight reasonably well, I'll give you that," he says getting to his feet. Four blades unsheathed, two by the swordsman's hands and two by an unseen force. The katana and rapier from earlier also come to the warrior's. "You're the one afraid to do what it takes. I don't desire for your death, it would bring me no joy. But I am done playing. Why don't you just go ahead home, I'm here protecting unarmed people." He holds there, having 6 swords out and ready to fight.

"We do not want to kill people," he says as he looks around at those here, who may still be fighting as he touches his belt and something uncloaks above him, that is black and hovering. He stays like this for a moment as the thrusters on his feet fire and he rockets upwards towards the vehicle as the bottom of it opens up and he enters. The bottom closes and he thinks as he pilots the craft away.

As the Batmobile moves away, he sighs, "My leg is killing me," he comments as he heads out of the area.

As Batman leaves, Faolon drops to one knee, and lets out a heavy sigh. He's really not sure if he would have won the fight if it had continued, but he's going to call his shift complete for now. He slowly walks back to his pauldrons and retrieves them, wiping the blood from his face to find that his nose is still bleeding. It's time to go back to civilization to rest up.
