It was far from a peaceful night's sleep for Yuna. Probably watching Ainsley and August test their Personas against each other didn't help, but more than the Mirror Forest, her dreams revolve around Ravnica, and to a lesser extent, Sydney. The imagery doesn't particularly change - the sight of Yunomi, alone and terrified, helpless as walking shadows drain away her power until she's a withered husk; sometimes Rhapsody is among those shadows, sometimes not, sometimes pinning Yunomi down for the magic-eaters, sometimes watching dispassionately.
And they aren't even nightmares bad enough to wake Yuna up in their own right; only the light of morning streaming through her window does that, revealing the blonde girl in sweat-laden pajamas and the little robo-faerie hovering at the head of her bed. "Good morning," are Elner's first words.
"Morning, Elner," Yuna says blearily, extricating herself from the sheets and peeling out of her pajamas. "Shower, shower ... ugh." She swipes the edge of her hand across her eyes, then fumbles her way to the guest room's bath. At least she doesn't have to wait for hot water, and the act of washing herself off helps to clear her head of the dregs of sleep.
And while Yuna washes, Elner simply hovers in the bedroom, waiting until she's done. There's no need for the robo-faerie to ask how Yuna slept; even if she hadn't been tossing and turning and mumbling through the night, the simple fact that Yuna got up so quickly betrays an atypical desire on her part not to stay in bed. Only when Yuna emerges from the bathroom again, wrapped in a towel, does Elner address her again: "So what are you doing now? With even the Izzet League against her, Yunomi's fate appears to be out of your hands."
"Maybe, maybe not," Yuna replies as she starts getting dressed. Clean underwear first, then her Beacon Academy uniform - a decision which would raise Elner's eyebrows, if Elner had eyebrows to raise. "The one thing I do know is that we haven't got any leads left; I don't know Yunomi well enough to know where else she'd go outside of Ravnica, and her Sydney bolt-hole is gone now. If she is in Ravnica, she's hidden somewhere that we're never going to find her - and I don't think any of the Guilds would protect her at this point."
"We never did investigate the Shatterdome," notes Elner. "You don't think that's worth it?"
"They're in the middle of tearing it down," says Yuna, adjusting her red string tie in the mirror, then reaching for the vest which goes under her blazer. "Besides ... I don't think Yunomi would be hiding there. If you want to take the Matrix to look around, please do - and let me know right away if you do find something."
"You won't need us on standby in Remnant?"
"If the Grimm attack or something, I'll hang back until you can get into range and let me transform. And keep monitoring frequencies in case we do get some word about Yunomi, okay?" She finally pulls on her blazer, adjusting its drape a little before fastening the buttons. "I don't know how we're going to find her, but we have to. I'm not going to abandon her."
Elner blinks. "Yuna, even Rhapsody isn't trying to stand up for her any more. Are you sure -"
"That doesn't matter, Elner. Yunomi is still my friend; even if all of Ravnica is against her - even if the whole Multiverse is against her - I'm not going to turn my back on a friend."
"Rhapsody is your friend too, isn't she?"
Yuna pauses, letting out a breath. "Yeah. She is. I don't know what leverage Ijiwaru got over her last night, but if she has to stand by and let Yunomi die, it's going to kill her inside. But if I'm the only one who can fight for Yunomi, I'm going to, by whatever means I can use." She pauses, turning to look at Elner. "Are you going to stop me if it comes to that?"
"I don't know," Elner admits. "Probably not. But be careful who you pick fights with, Yuna. Ijiwaru is a plausible enemy; if you wound up fighting other Union Elites ..."
"It's not about the Izzet League or Ravnica or the Union, Elner. It's about helping a friend who needs us."
