Date of Scene: | 31 July 2014 |
Location: | The Citadel - Front Gates |
Synopsis: | A chance meeting in a hallway. |
Cast of Characters: | 276, 487, 522 |
- Kari Wolf (276) has posed:
Normally, Kari hangs out at her Master's apartment, but today she's helping around the R&D lab by carting materials back and forth. Not a job one associates with a tiny robot, but Kari has an anti-gravity cargo loader slaved to her drone controller. And so she's driving the cargo loader through the halls of the Citadel, sitting on top of the controls making VROOM VROOM sounds as it glides, a few cases of parts sitting on the flatbed.
- Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
The Citadel-- a location that Gaius has yet to actually visit. After the events of a scout operation, he figured it be a good idea to check the main operations building of the organization that the Garlean Empire has aligned themselves with and are offering their own military power too. This was also allowing his men some time to stretch their legs and-- hopefully-- not get into trouble.
The dark armored figure roams down the hall. Each foot step was precise and calm. There was no hesitation in the way that he walked and no sign of weakness in his steps. Any light that would move over the armor, seemed absorbed by the dark metal plating and only shimmed ever so slightly against the gold trim. The small orbs on the horns only moved ever so slightly to each of the steps taken. On his back was his personal Gunblade seeming attached to a part of his armor along the backside. Hanging almost effortlessly there with no scabbard to keep it in place.
As he made the corner, his step of his boot came to a slight halt once it touched the ground and those seemingly void filled holes in the helmet he wore seem to look directly at the flatbed being operated by a very small machine. This caused his helm to tilt ever so slightly to one side. Perhaps either in observation of the technology or perhaps in being unsure how something so small could pilot something of that size.
Yet with another step and easy motion to the side, he made sure to be clear of the flatbed itself.
- Vi'Sharra (487) has posed:
Vi'Sharra is also wandering the Citadel, though for an entirely different reason then Lord Van Baelsar; Hers has more to do with being partially lost, incredibly bored, and being less then amused by the lack of work at the moment.
But then of course, amusement presents itself in the form of dignified man in armor... ...Wearing dangly bits at the ends of his horns no less and so, she grabs a clipboard off of a pile of nearby boxes and begins stalking him. It doesn't take much effort to look like you belong in the Citadel afterall, just a bit of ID to indicate that you're not a dirty Unionite spy, and a determined sort of movement that says wordlessly, 'Yes. I Belong Here. And I'm Busy. Go Away.'.
Thus, after a bit of following an interesting encounter occurs. A doll, plugged into a flatbed loader, meets Mr. Platemail. This could be interesting. Or not.
- Kari Wolf (276) has posed:
The flatbed comes to a stop as Kari spots the two new faces. The shinki looks at Gaius. She looks at Vi'Sharra.
"Hi! I haven't met either of you before!" she says cheerily, waving at the two. "Hey, is that an inventory clipboard?" She says to Vi'Sharra, pointing. The shinki seems very animated and cheerful.
- Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
Gaius was unaware he was being followed or if he was aware, he paid it no heed. The dark armored stared down at the small machine as it spoke in a female-isk voice. There was a long silence from armored figure as he continued to look at the shinki from where he stood. Though when the machine points at the direction of the mistress with a clipboard blending into the environment of workers, he only lowers his head ever so slightly.
The six foot two figure then crosses his arms over his chest with simple ease, spite the armor and then nudges his helm toward the little machine with the flat bed; given that it seem the machine spoke to her about that very clipboard, on must assume the very question that comes present from his lips that has a slight reverb cast by the helm itself. "Is this machina one of your creations or the work of another whom is in this structure?"
Once the question is asked, his gaze seems to fully return back to the little shinji. Giving it a look over from where it was connected and including the flatbed, attempting to see what it carries-- or lack there of.
- Vi'Sharra (487) has posed:
Golden brown eyes blink once in surprise at the Kari, usually technicians and support staff tend to blend into the background at the Citadel, before her lips curl into a grin, "Why yes! It is a clipboard." She glances at briefly, "I think it details something fascinating like the like quantity of plastic curls in each shipping container, and how sector-" She glances at it again, "33-VX-491-A-Delta-Roberts is running out of foam peanuts."
A shrug, as her body language changes completely from 'I belong in the background, don't pay attention to me' to 'I'm Important and I belong here.'. "Fascinating to someone I'm sure..." She tilts her head slightly regarding the shiki for a moment longer before Giaus speaks.
Her eyes then flick over to Gaius, "I'm afraid that only the Dwarves of my world work with creations like this." She smiles slightly and turns back to Kari, "This would be a Shiki, though I'm not familliar with her name." Her eyes refocus on Gaius, and she gives a graceful bow, "And I am Vi'Sharra, but," A pause, "Who might you be?"
- Kari Wolf (276) has posed:
Kari Wolf looks at the two folks talking, shuts off the loader so it gently sinks to the floor. Then the shinki hops down to the seat to just /watch/ the two interact. Since clearly they don't think she's a person, and people who underestimate shinki are funny to watch. Maybe she'll even get to taunt them about romantic entanglements in a bit.
- Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
The dark armored figure watches the Shinki with some interest, but it is not kept there long as Vi'Sharra introduces herself to him. He watches her bow and then returns to bow in kind as he lowers his arms and places his hand easily across his midsection before he bows. "Imperial Legatus Gaius Van Baelsar. 'Tis a pleasure to meet you, ma'am Vi'sharra." He then fully stands back up as he speaks with a very calm, easy manner and smoothness to his movements.
"Though I must confess that I have not heard of such a creature known as dwarves either. It will be something I will amend, now brought forth to my attention." Gaius looks at the Shinki who seems to be observing them for the time. "Curious creation. I do wonder why they would make it so small."
Gaius the motions to the Shinki, "I know you speak, what is the name your creators given to you?"
- Kari Wolf (276) has posed:
The shinki hmms? "Oh, I thought you were trying to woo Miss Vi'sharra. My name is Kari Wolf, nice to meet you, Gaius Van Baelsar. Are you some kind of black knight with a dark and tragic past that means he can never love?"
- Vi'Sharra (487) has posed:
An eyebrow is raised slightly before she nods, "Lord Van Baelsear, of the Garlean Empire." After a moment she smiles, "A recent entry into the Confederacy." She pauses, "It's good to be able to put a face to the name." She grins slightly, "Or well. A helmet to the name."
Her eyes narrow slightly as she looks back to Kari, "Curious yes... Usually they introduce themselves." She agrees with Gaius, "She's not Fuki, I know her voice well enough at least." After a moment she shrugs, "The Dwarves of our world tend to be mechanists of various degrees of capability, though a Shiki's level of autonomy is a bit beyond them."
- Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
When Vi'Sharra speaks, Gaius listens and gives a nod of his head to her explanation about the dwarf race. "Ah, I see. Much like the goblins of my own... though a beast man they may be.. and trouble at that.. crafty builders from what has been observed by my troops eyes." He does pause then crossing his arms over chest armor once more. "Though I would humbly suspect that you may not know what a Beast Men is, so my apologies on that, if it be true."
Then when the Shiki speaks up, declaring itself as Kari Wolf. The dark armored figure looks to her, but when she continues to speak on her own assumptions of things, she is meet with deathly silence and perhaps an equal cold stare to match from those seemingly void eye-slits.
There was a long silence before he returns his gaze to Vi'Sharra. "Quaint. Isn't it?" The dry sarcasm is heavy in his voice. Though as he stands there, there is a tilt of his head as he raises his hand up to up to the side of his helm. He seems to be listening to something before he taps his helm once more. "I am deeply sorry for the interruption, but a matter has presented itself. If you both do excuse me." He gives a polite nod and then walks past them both was an easy, but brisk stride heading back out once more.
- Vi'Sharra (487) has posed:
"Absolutely charming. I wonder if her master realizes that she's trying create problems for them?" Gaius is given another bow, "Lord Van Baelsar. Please let me know if I can be of service to the Garlean Empire." Kari Wolf is given another glance, this time a measuring one, as Gaius walks away, "I think perhaps you would do better to learn to read body language, then you would do to make assumptions."
With that she lightly flips the clipboard over onto the Shiki's flatbed, steps into a nearby shadow, and simply vanishes.
