Synopsis: Black Tailmon visits an art museum! ...And Kudamon tries (unsuccessfully) to keep her out of trouble.
Cast of Characters: 478, 526

Black Tailmon (526) has posed:
New York City, Brooklyn, USA, - The sound of busy city-life is ever present here, horns honking, car engines purring, the dull thudding of many varied feet against the sidewalk and more. The morning sun, dulled by a sparse layer of cloud cover over head, bathes the vast expanse of urban sprawl in its warmth.

Here, amidst the towering glass and steel structures of the city and the many colorful advertisements placed at every conceivable vantage point (paper, video screen, carboard sign or otherwise), the citizens of New York go about their daily doings - shopping, dining at the various restaurants, working, or wandering through to their next destination in this very commercial district in Brooklyn.

Somewhere, high above, a shadow leaps from street light to street light. Upon closer inspection, that shadow in fact appears to be some type of -cat-. Or cat-like creature, anyway. It is black, with overly large ears, a rounded body and a long, skinny, vine-like tail. The ends of its ears and tail are tipped with splashes of dark violet, its paws... are, in fact, disproportionately large false forepaws of similar violet coloration.

The creature stops, just a few lights short of a parking lot... which is directly east of a very large, by area, two story building of yellow and green that stretches across a wide swath of green, park-like, area in the shape of an L. There appear to be families of humans coming and going from two of its eastern entrances.

<"Hmm...">, Tailmon broadcasts over radio, <"...art exhibit? Well, doesn't -that- look cute. ... Maybe I'll pay a little visit... ~">

...Then, she leaps off... darting across the parking lot toward the building in question.

Kudamon (478) has posed:
Kudamon was exploring good old New York. Not because he was here to sightsee, but because he found a picture or two in his searches sighting a Digimon in this world very recently. He was trawling the media sources for it, and it popped up on someone's feed out of the blue and blew up across the net. And when he picked up a radio signal, he began to track it.
He floats above the crowd, disregarding the stares he gets. Art exhibit... well there are signs up about one near where the signal came from, so he tracks them to the entrance.

Kudamon floats across the parking lot and toward someone who is bound to try to rough him up for fun. He clutches the digivice on his collar and lets out a sigh. Here he goes again, getting into trouble without any backup.

All the while, he tries to remember if he spoke to this specific Digimon over the radio before.

Black Tailmon (526) has posed:
It isn't until she is practically at the door, that Black Tailmon catches sight of the potential interloper. Rather than address them, as a proper 'lady' should, however... she just flashes a fangy smile at the other Digimon momentarily. There's a fleeting, mischievous, glance and then... she pads quietly into an open doorway swung wide by a much bigger human male and his accompanying child with her tail held high! Albeit, slightly curled at the end...

...She doesn't seem to have much trouble entering either, not what one would expect for a seemingly wild beast anyway! In fact, many of the adults, or older children, who look upon her seem to... disregard her entirely. The small children, however, ...

"Look mommy, a kitty!", a blonde little girl points excitedly... prompting her mother to glance, quizzically, "...a kitty?" There's a pause, her eyes turn this way and that. "...Where?"

Even the museum staff dont seem to make a ruckus, ... until she leaps onto a table top. "..uhhh... miss... you shouldn't sit there..."

Kudamon (478) has posed:
When Kudamon enters the Museum, he is probably not ignored. In fact, he looks at Black Tailmon with a growing sense of displeasure as she just ambles around as if she owns the place, and even that look she gave at him earlier got under his skin quite effectively. He pauses to look at her, the dour expression he is making probably seeming a little strange from a Digimon to what looks like a human to most of the museum-goers.
"Hello," he greets, with that tired patience of someone who knows he's probably wasting it on this person. "Could you, maybe, try to avoid causing trouble again? I only want to talk." He holds his forepaws up reassuringly, red claws splayed out. His expression switches to a pleading smile, trying to make it clear that he isn't here to fight with her. He just doesn't like fighting very much.

Black Tailmon (526) has posed:
When Kudamon enters, there most certainly is an initial fuss. In fact, one of the male staff, dressed in a green button-up vest over white shirt and black pants, comes moving toward the entrance to corral him even as nearby children cry various exclamations and variations of 'look, a puppy!'. This time, the 'puppy' is certainly noticed... with some parents lifting their children and backing away. One even whispers, "That's not a puppy, dear..."

Black Tailmon turns her subtly glowing gaze upon Kudamon, quietly, ignoring the elderly staffer who seems to be trying to convince her to unseat from the table (and failing at it). "...it is my seeing dog.", she declares, before leaping off the table finally. Every adult in the room look at one another, but staff eventually relents... even if they do think Kudamon looks like a strange dog indeed!

She then waits, patiently, for Kudamon to join her, "...come then." He'd probably best accept her invitation, if he doesn't want to have MORE trouble to deal with.

Quietly, she adds, if he joins her "...You assume over much. I rather enjoy art viewing.", and then walks off whether he joins her or not.

Halfway into the foyer, and out of the immediate sight of staff... a sign suspended on the opposite wall catches her eye. A sign that reads 'Animal Exhibit'. It provokes a mischievous grin, and she promptly begins to... climb a nearby T-Rex skeleton only to walk along its spine toward the hallway the sign points to. The skeleton rattles under her weight, but doesn't yet come tumbling down. "...I consider myself an artist too, you know...!"

Kudamon (478) has posed:
Kudamon is called a dog. Nevermind that it is entirely inaccurate, the confused look he gives toward the shout indicates that he isn't sure whether to respond to that or not. He lets it run over him like water off a duck's back, instead more focused on Tailmon and the obvious illusion she is creating for those around her. He is not enthused by being described as her personal beast of burden, instead seeming to get a little stressed at the idea of having to follow her through the Museum. He briefly considers just leaving this be.
Soon he catches up with her, and lets out a sigh, looking around with plenty of nervous energy. He is about to speak when--
A bone-rattling noise! He turns his head and his adorable little limbs start flailing in panic, trying to catch Tailmon's attention. He hisses out a whisper, trying really hard not to shout, "Please do not do that...! That is very expensive!" Once she's stepped off of it, or stopped, whichever, he wonders at her, "And what kind of art is your specialty, exactly?" It's hard to hide the skepticism in his voice.

Black Tailmon (526) has posed:
"...Oh, is it?" She replies, nonchalantly, not an -ounce- of caring to be found in her tone as she continues to walk along the spine of the Tyrannosaurus Rex... bones clattering noisily all the while! It will probably only be a matter of time before staff comes along... and spots 'the blind lady in a red dress' walking along the spine of a dinosaur exhibit with her 'seeing dog' panicking at its feet!

She pads beneath the rays pouring in from a skylight, just inches from its skull, before she glances at Kudamon again... still smiling that toothy, care-free, grin. "..You're too stuffy for your own good! You should learn to relax." She leaps from the skeleton, to the floor nearby, sending it rattling and shaking violently before all returns to quiet again. It's at this point, a staffer looks in from further down the hall...

...before furrowing their brows and moving on to another exhibit nearby.

"You orderly types, always trying to control what cannot be...", she turns her nose up slightly and begins to head toward the 'animal 'exhibit' - a large open area, apparently filled with parents and children staring into what seems to be glass enclosures. There's a staffer on the floor, handling what looks like a Gila Monster as he explains the animal to the children.

To his last question, she adds, "...blood smatterings upon the canvas of life, or the joyous music of chaotic confusion I create... such is my inspirationem... ~"

"...My muse... a wicked, wicked, squirrel scampering up the tree of life...", she pauses, "...why does that image make me angry..."

Kudamon (478) has posed:
Kudamon wishes he did not get up out of bed this morning, when she displays absolutely no concern for the pain or trouble she could cause by being so careless with something like a fossil display. He tries to remind himself that this person is probably not someone who has a lot of empathy... He deflates when he realizes he's unlikely to be able to talk her out of doing these things. Instead, he should just try to distract her by talking to her.
He's not going to fight her in the middle of a building full of civilians and expensive things that could break. That would be a disaster.
"These rules are in place for very good reasons," he tells her, in a gentle tone of voice. "The well-being of others. What of the person who pieced together that display, or the many people who dug it up out of the ground? The countless visitors who come to marvel at it? You risk ruining a piece of history, a piece of art, by doing something like that." He follows her as she moves, shaking his head slowly at the words he's hearing. It's a familiar mindset.
A mindset of one of the Demon Lords.
But how would this be one of them? He looks at her quizzically when she's not looking back at him as he mulls over the possibilities. "I haven't the foggiest clue," he lies, when she remarks about her subconscious ire towards Yggdrasil.
"Consider me a very contrary art critic, when it comes to your behavior," he tells her, making a face of discomfort at how awkward that sounds. "You don't need to cause chaos to create art. In fact, chaos has a nature that makes it very difficult to appreciate any artistic talent that goes into it. Many just see the chaos, and they don't see the person who did it. Just a darkened image masking who they really are."

Black Tailmon (526) has posed:
"Blah, blah, blah...", she sits in the entryway, almost defiantly, across from the museum staff member with the Gila Monster. Her ears twitch, the leftward one swings round instinctively as she hears a woman and child walk down the hallway behind them. "Rules are boring, and so are you."

The staff member glances in their direction, mid-lecture, as the large black and cream spotted lizard writhes in his arms. It's mouth is apparently bound closed. "...Uh... animals..."

"...my seeing dog." Black Tailmon reiterates, as the staff member stares momentarily.

"...Okay, well as I was saying... these are very venomous lizards so..."

"...Ooooh, venomous...", the black cat murmurs almost to herself enthusiastically. She then realizes Kudamon is still there, and her eyes pop wide... before turning to glance at him.

And then narrow as she catches the tail-end of what he said, "...Some art forms are merely misunderstood." Her tail lashes, with a hint of irritation. "..The problem lies with the observer's limited perspective, not the artist..."

Kudamon (478) has posed:
Kudamon looks over at the staff member, and then over to Black Tailmon again. He frowns when he picks up on the museum's 'no pets' policy. Why does she keep vouching for him, he wonders? "Art is a subjective creation. All perspectives are limited," he tells Tailmon, "So no one person will see it the same way as you do. Maybe some will agree with you, but..." He shakes his head slightly.
"Why do you enjoy chaos so much?" he wonders at her. He knows there are some Digimon that are just naturally inclined to being troublemakers if the conditions are right. Still... "And why do you dislike those of us that cling to rules...?" He pauses for a second, and seems saddened when he imagines why that would be. "Because we try to ruin your fun, right?"

Black Tailmon (526) has posed:
Black Tailmon's ears flit again, as she eyes the writhing lizard, almost completely blocking out the first half of everything Kudamon says. Ideas are formulating.

She casts a silent, sidelong, glance at one of the children nearby the staff member in question... a glance that remains until he returns it... and begins to toddle toward her and away from his apparent mother. "...Why?", she finally responds to the other Digimon again, before walking toward the boy suddenly... "...some things are best demonstrated...!"

This is the three second warning, and three seconds is all he'll have to recognize what is about to happen before...

"...Kitty!", the little boy in overalls calls out, as the black cat walks towards him. It draws a look from practically everyone in the room, and....

"...What's a cat doing in here?" "Jimmy, come back here!" "Please, don't startle the...!"

It all happens at once. Black Tailmon darts by the boy's legs, causing him to fall, and when the museum staff instinctively reaches for the boy... the giant lizard squirms loose.

Suddenly a black cat and an angry giant lizard are rampaging around the room, people are panicking, and attempting to avoid both,...

...and a priceless vase tumbles from a pillar as a panicked human female falls into it!

It's like dominoes, except with people!

Kudamon (478) has posed:
Kudamon's tactical sense kicks into overdrive the moment Tailmon decides to start causing trouble. His eyes scan over to the child. No, he doesn't expect she'll hurt the child, only the very worst Digimon do that. She knocks the boy over, and the staff drops the lizard. He disregards the lizard for now, since he saw its mouth was bound and lizards like that would only bite someone if they had their space invaded anyways.
His eyes flick, and then he bolts through the room and snatches the vase out of the air right before it hits the floor. He sets it carefully back on its pedestal, and then looks around the room with a hawkish gaze, trying to spot anymore threats to person or property. "I'm going to need all visitors to vacate the room," he calls out in a loud and clear voice, "While the museum staff wrangles the reptile! Move slowly, so you don't startle it any further, or knock anyone or anything over!"
He's already making sweeping motions with one of his paws and gently urging folks out of the room. "Everything will be fine if you remain calm!"

Black Tailmon (526) has posed:
"Someone call animal control!", the staff member yells as he chases the rampant Gila monster across the room. Parents begin to grab their children and run, but less because they were 'told' to and more because -talking animals are rampaging loose in the museum-! For a few moments, not much can be heard in the room except screaming and the thunder of panicked human foot steps. And then... silence.

"...Don't worry, I...", the museum staff says to absolutely no one, as he picks up the giant lizard again. He only then realizes he's alone... with those weird creatures. He doesn't even stoop to pick up the hat that fell off his head... he just backs away.

"...Hmph." Black Tail grouses, leaping onto a pillar with yet another priceless artifact. Her prehensile tail crooks, picking the stone pitcher up by the handle and dangling it off the edge while she stares pointedly at Kudamon. "...You're boring, AND stupid." The stone pitcher rocks, uneasily, on the end of her tail... suspended just feet from the floor by willful restraint. "...No one was harmed, yet your first reaction is to impose order. ... Why? How do you not suffocate under the sheer weight of your imagined moral responsibilities!"

"...You'd come running if I dropped this wouldn't you? Ever the faithful slave to your own ideologies, even if it meant I'd kill you for doing so!"

Dark laughter erupts from her... deep, rich, smooth femininity laced with mocking hatred. "...I don't know why... but I hated you from the moment I laid eyes upon you! ... I just needed a little bit of confirmation."

She drops then vase, then leaps from the pedestal to the floor and breaks into a run. "...Ta ~ !"

Kudamon (478) has posed:
The room has been cleared, for the most part, and nothing bad has happened. And then he hears Tailmon speak. She insults him, which doesn't really hurt that much. Or at all. Juvenile tactics don't work on him. But the phrase 'imagined moral responsibilities' weighs on him. His ears wilt.
Kudamon stares at Tailmon, his brow furrowed. She's right. He's too attached to the order baked into him from years of training from Yggdrasil's knights. People that no longer care about the poor Digimon left behind, and gladly would've destroyed everything to impose order. His face screws up and, for a minute, he feels like he's about to cry just from sheer frustration.
Kudamon isn't much of a badass. He's got his limits.
And then the vase is dropped, and, predictably, he bolts in that direction to catch it, fumbling it for a second and eventually settling on the floor and clutching it.

But she's already running off. He looks where she's going and this time just doesn't know whether he should bother chasing her or not. All he would be doing is feeding her selfish thrills with his own suffering and toil.

Black Tailmon (526) has posed:
Whether he follows, or doesn't... she's pretty quick to depart. After all, there's no fun to be had where a stick-in-the-mud like that one will only interrupt! Hmm... is that a fish cart...?!
