- Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
Last night a conversation took place between Gaius Van Baelsar and Vi'Sharra. Most of it was rather common updates, but one part stuck out. That Vi'Sharra would meet him at the airdocks so that he could get away before the lands of politics ate his sanity.
Because no one needed another Nael Van Darnus. Really.
Though this did mean a little work for Gaius. By way of dressing up as a common man of Ala Mhigo in rather basic cloth clothing, leather vest. Normal dusty work boots, and putting a cap over his head with a bit of a brim to hid his face.
Then having to go out a window and get away with no guards or well-- other sorts-- catching notice of this. The rebels after all have been rather active and so, though the Legatus was able to handle himself-- guards were just doing there job. He can't really blame them.
The Streets of Ala Mhigo where lined with rather tall people. Those of the Highlanders, as this was once a home of great many of them... and in some ways, still was. A hearty group really and souls that most noble. Souls that Gaius had come to respect in some way.
The buildings themselves were made of decorative stone. Tall structures that have tested time and time again. Yet within these old walls, lines could be seen running. Magitek lamps lined the cobblestone roadways. The ways of old clashing against the ways of new no matter where one looked.
And interestingly-- though the airdock was newer, it carried much of the cities clash of cultures. The stone made to look old and mimic the rustic nature of this place. The airships themselves that moved from place to place in this land made of wood and little bit of steel. They too, like Eorzea, used a balloon like system, but it was more of a single and much more angular style-- like one would see on a blimp.
Though giving it had become evening by the point Gaius walked up the steps. Many of the airships were now sitting at dock, shut off for the evening. Things because of that-- were very quiet here.. and the air is a bit cool, compared to how it is during the day.
- Vi'Sharra (487) has posed:
No one needs another Nael Van Darnus. At all. Thankfully Vi'Sharra is here to prevent that. Possibly by smacking him on the back of the head. Or in this case...
By waiting inside of one of the hangars. Of course, Gaius wound know where this is ... Because a nice little note would have been left on his dresser.
And inside this hangar? ...Well... Inside the hangar there's a lot of dust in the corners, but outside of the corners in the center of the room is a Vi'Sharra. Sitting on one of the rafters, and under Vi'Sharra there's a very lumpy very large white sheet.
And of course in the entrance of the hangar is a Gaius, "Hello, my friend." She smiles at him, "Forgive me for not using your formal name and such, but I rather doubt we're looking for too dramatic of an exit..." She gestures, "If you're only wearing that."
- Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
Gaius walks into the hanger and takes note of the white cloth, though when Vi'Sharra speaks up. His gold eyes look upward at her, while lifting the brim of his cap a bit. He smirks faintly, very faintly and it doesn't stick around long. Blink and you may miss it. "Aye. Guards would be rather upset with me with leaving without an escort.. and the rebels would be most upset they missed a chance to make me an example."
The Legatus shrugs his shoulders before he walks over to the sheet. His fingers gently run across the fabrics. "So you were able to procure one after all, hm?" He chuckles then gently, "Hope it was not to much trouble."
- Vi'Sharra (487) has posed:
Vi'Sharra laughs softly, before she drops to the cement-like floor of the hangar, landing in a graceful crouch. "And why exactly would it be hard for me to find something that I wanted?" She tilts her head and then grins, "Well. I suppose the guards would probably be upset at that..."
Her grin widens, "And upsetting them isn't as much as fun as upsetting the rebels would be, now is it?" With those words, she turns and looks at the giant lumpy sheet, "I suspect what you're feeling the most is cooped up. Restricted. Hemmed in by idiots that can't understand the most basic of facts so..."
She grabs one corner of the sheet and just sort of yanks, revealing a pair of military hover-bikes, and a set of riding armor. "...Sadly, I doubt you're going to let me go work on the idiots..." She licks her fangs, "But as for freedom... ...I think we can manage that a bit."
- Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
Gaius puts on a mild smirk to Vi'Sharra's words and when she yanks back the sheets, he has a bit of an impressed look on his face. "Dare I ask where you were able to obtain them?" He says with some mild amusement, before looking over the model. Crouching down to check a few of the parts, including lines.
He then looks over to her, "Though do not think I am not grateful, for I truly am. If I stayed there much longer, I may start to become like some other Legatus I know who can not even hold a sword straight.. let alone other things.." The last part was almost muttered as he goes to stand back up.
Gaius then looks over the riding armor and then goes to start to place it on with some ease, "So where are you thinking we shall go forth for a bit of.. trouble?" He asks that last part as he pulls down the glove to make sure it is snug.
- Vi'Sharra (487) has posed:
Vi'Sharra laughs softly, "Why, from the Guild of course." She grins slightly, "And really," She arches an eyebrow at him, "Can you picture an assassin not owning a motorcycle of some kind?" Her lips pull into a slight smirk, before she laughs softly, "And of course we're going to get in trouble!"
Her eyes gleam slightly, "Well... I think you could probably scare them into exercising a little... I'm quite certain that Nero, would absolutely love to convince one of them that getting into the proper ... shape ... would be advantagous to their health."
Her eyes gleam again before she climbs onto one of the bikes, "Well... First I was thinking we could play a bit of a game of zooming through the city, while you got the feel for how they handled, and then... I think there are some nice canyons nearby?"
- Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
Gaius barks a laugh about Nero getting people into shape. "Pity that he is only a Tribune. They have some command over him, though I can override it.. he sadly can not speak to them in such manner." He then throws the jacket on and makes sure everything is fitting as it should before walking over to the Motorcycle once more.
"Excellent. Curfew should be kicking in shortly, so I am sure this will give an excellent test to the guards to see how well that truly do keep an eye on things. Nigh desire to find lies among my men whom say they actually observe at all hours-- only to find false when it is I whom break the rules." There is an amused look on his face.
"Should I lead this little expedition or would you care to have such honors?"
- Vi'Sharra (487) has posed:
Vi'Sharra chuckles softly, "Well... Since you do have the home field advantage..." She mounts her hoverbike, and flips a switch. "...So I think Ladies first applies here." She winks at him, and with a loud hummmming of engine, goes zipping out of the hangar, down one of the runways and past a guard checkpoint.
...Very much without stopping.
- Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
Vi'Sharra passes him a wink and Gaius' raises an eye brow ever so slightly while hiding nudge at the corner of his lip. Once she takes off, he powers up the bike he sits on and then goes after her. Taking no concern for the fact he has not been on one of these before-- but they are like something they have.. just.. faster and flight able.
He has this.. for now.
When Vi'Sharra zips by the guard tower, the guards were snoozing, at least were until she goes by. It wasn't till Gaius goes by do they suddenly hit the alarm and try to go for there rifles, but by then its to late.
Yet with the notification out, troops quickly move into there positions and search lights at points are kicked on, attempting to locate down the two suspects who are breaking the law...
The /not/ Imperial Legatus takes this moment to pull up along side Vi'Sharra, but only for a moment as he cuts her glance over, then he decides to detour away, cutting straight down into an ally and getting low on the bike.
- Vi'Sharra (487) has posed:
Vi'Sharra glances behind her at the outpost as they ... well. Wake up in surprise, and then back to ... No. Not back to, to the side, where she meets Gaius' gaze, and grins. "Oh. So it's like that, is it?"
With a laugh she guns it, and cuts down an alleyway parallel to his, buzzing past a pair of dumpsters, and then leaping a low wall, before she skids to the side, and makes a right angle turn, to catch up behind him as he exits the alleyway.
A moment later Vi'Sharra's voice comes from one side of the helmet, "What's say we keep the flying capabilities a secret for ... mmm ... The next five minutes or so? Maybe tease them into thinking they've got us slightly cornered at some point?"
- Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
Gaius skids across the turn hard, the bike nearly going fully up on its side as his boot slides across the ground a bit to aid in the movement, before cranking it back in gear. When Vi'Sharra catches up with him chuckles faintly before narrowing his eyes. "Sounds good." He revs it back up and bolts through one of the main streets, even as the spotlights find him.
He makes a hard bank left turn as several guards come out to try and nail him with a few shots from there gunblades and then heads right into another alley. Vi'Sharra may get a similar treatment quickly, but more from the roofs. It is easy to see they were being chased at key points where checkpoints were located at.
Yet what /nearly/ gets Gaius is when suddenly a Magitek Armor steps right into his path. He has to pull hard on the controls and skips the bike across the ground a bit, as sparks fly, before moving it to avoid the massive Magitek machine. Though he does a sharp one eighty as he then stares down the Magitek Armor.
Even as the pilot gets on the loud-speaker. "Surrender now or face execution!"
Vi'Sharra may even find one coming after her, from another street pass.
Gaius can't help what he does, only because how often does he get to screw with his own men, "Oi! Ye lot couldn't hit the side of a Chocobo broad even by th' of yer sun."
The pilot on the Magitek Armor's eye twitches slightly and he grits his teeth visibly, "You insubordinate little.."
- Vi'Sharra (487) has posed:
Vi'Sharra is generally... Ignoring parts of the gunfire. Mostly the wild shots, and weaving back and forth, just enough to make it incredibly irritating to try and get any kind of a bead on her. With the exception of course, of her raising her left hand in the air and giving them the one fingered salute, as she drives past, curves around a tree...
And nearly spins out, as Gaius breaks out in that accent. "...The--" Snnrrrkk. "Ohgods--" And ... There it is... ...Gaius is probably one of the few people that has ever heard her start cracking up and giggling helplessly, "That accent!" *giggle*
She loops around the tree one more time and tries to get verbal control back for a few more moments, before she guns it and goes tearing past the armor and after Gaius, "Dammit. Warn me before you do that again!" *snicker*
- Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
Gaius notes Vi'Sharra near crash due to being caught off guard by his esponage-ish skill set. It causes him to wince a bit, but also to try and not laugh-- then he decides to laugh anyways. One heck of a nice big ol' laugh.
Which just pisses off the Magitek armor pilot further who then barks out, "So be it!"
Gaius knows what is coming, but he gives the man a half-aft Maelstrom salute, before yelling back out, "May ye be ever so merry!" Then kicks the bike into over time as he goes to catch up with Vi'Sharra speaking in his normal voice, though with some haste in it, "Turn right, quick and then make a left. Do not slow and for all that is your life.. do not look back."
She may not need to ask why as machine gun fire becomes the next apparent thing. The turns are tight though, but have a slight wide edge to them. As they go by a section, Gaius reaching up his hand and a beam of light passes by his fingers.
This-- seems to trigger a ramp straight up to one of the guard posts. Not something they were expecting at all and many of them suddenly leap aside. They seemed more ready to shoot /down/ at the streets.. not worry about crossfire!
This was highly amusing and enough when they go off the top and into the road below, Gaius looks over to Vi'Sharra, "Do you think I should give them at least a C for bloody--" Yet his comment is cut short as a sniper round rings loudly across the sky and impacts the shield of the bike. Then has to bring the Bike to a hard stop cause right there at the main square they were heading too was not only Magitek Armors, but that of several men with Gunblades aimed and riflemen knelt down.
"Tsk.."
Gaius can then hear the voice over the loudspeaker, this time-- it was someone who had that wonderful echo in the helm. One of those in higher charge then the normal troopers. "By the orders and laws of the Viceroy and Legatus. For not only breaking of curfew, but that of aiding of rebels..."
"..aiding of rebels?" Gaius murmurs under his breath, with his eye brows narrowing. Really?
"You will be executed now and bodies shown to all!"
- Vi'Sharra (487) has posed:
Vi'Sharra grins into her helmet as Giaus breaks out laughing, after all! One of her evil plans has come to fruition. Sorta. Nearly crashing a hoverbike in the process wasn't exactly on her list of things to do. Of course, that doesn't exactly mean that she didn't succeed at her goal anyway...
"They do get props for using proper firing lanes at least and being quite energetic after someone ... Goes out of their way to wake them up." She makes a hard right, and then a quick left before she continues speaking again, "But I fear that if either of us had a case of grenades, or incindiary grenades, this location would be in a bit of a..."
She spins the bike to the side and skids to a stop next to Gaius, "Huh... Didn't realize I was a rebel scum..." She chuckles softly under her breath, "On the other hand... ...Yes. That will work nicely for later." A pause, "So... What do you say we demonstrate the fight capabilities and... Well... Go locate those canyons?"
- Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
Gaius holds his own on the bike as the troops get ready to open fire. He hears what Vi'Sharra says and looks back at the group. He watches as the leader of this little party raises up his sword. "Lets move then." He states calmly to Vi'Sharra fully aware that they were about to open fire.
So Gaius does something crazy. "Meet you outside the city!" He then turns the bike and heads right for the group. The sword comes down and as soon as they open fire, his bike goes right over them, causing a few to actually /not/ fire at all and a few that do, impact the ground with there bullets.
He looked back over his shoulder at the group, who seemed rather-- dumb founded and then quickly had to bank as a few Magitek armors attempted to blast him out of the sky were there Ceruleum style cannons. The Legatus would play a bit with them, before making his way for the city limits where hopefully he'll meet up with Vi'Sharra and they can head for the canyons.
Including possibly losing some of his own Garlean troops with the unexpected flight of the bikes.
