Date of Scene: | 25 April 2015 |
Location: | Urbania |
Synopsis: | Rock Lee has 5 dollars, so he challenges Shin to a fight! |
Cast of Characters: | 678, 756 |
- Shin Tokuyama (756) has posed:
Regardless of the time of day, if he's awake to hear it, Shin is rarely one to turn down a challenge to a fight. Plus, Rock Lee had given him a sort of 'brothers in martial arms' vibe the few times they talked on radio, so he was actually pretty eager to grant the request, despite having just woken up a couple hours ago.
The location Shin has chosen is actually right in front of a konbini (think like a Japanese 7-11) and down the street from a capsule hotel. The suit-clad martial artist is actually sitting on a black motorcycle and hastily wolfing down what appears to be a rice ball while he has a can of milk coffee in his other hand.
He's mostly just trying to power down some chow so he doesn't hold up his opponent when he arrives. Most of his injuries from a couple days ago are healed, though, so he's more than ready to give someone a spar. His khaki backpack is also leaning up against the motorcycle beside him.
- Rock Lee (678) has posed:
There's no warning when Rock Lee comes running from the roof of the konbini, jumping, curling his body into a spinning flip, then landing directly next to the motorcycle to hold out a five credit coin. "I am ready to fight! It is an honor to meet you, Mister Shin. I am Rock Lee, to more formally introduce myself in person." He suddenly bows, while still holding the money out.
- Shin Tokuyama (756) has posed:
Luckily for Shin, as Rock Lee does so, Shin is already finishing his last bite of rice ball and washing it down with the can of coffee, which is soon tossed into a trash can, "Mmph! Right!" He says after swallowing. Shin takes the coin, "Shin Tokuyama. My school is the Geiha Genkou-Ryu." After saying this, he places his fist in his palm and bows a bit more formally.
"Rules go that we fight until one of us can't fight any more. If I win, I keep the five credits. If you win, you get four times the cost back. So twenty," He explains, standing up from his bow. And then, slipping the coin into his pocket, he takes a few steps back and puts his hands up in a practiced stance, "We can start on your go. Challenger makes the opening move."
- Rock Lee (678) has posed:
"I fight with Strong Fist! Trained by Might Guy and the Konoha Ninja Academy!" Lee listens to the conditions. Then, without any hesitation, he moves forward in one fluid motion to try and slam a hook into Shin's jaw, and the -other- fist launched forward at his face. "I am ready!"
His technique wastes no energy, and it's not particularly flashy even when it is. Each movement of his body is for maximum momentum and strength, meant to crack or break bones. If an average ninja were to take the blows to Shin's head, he'd be knocked into unconsciousness immediately.
Luckily Shin is not average!
- Shin Tokuyama (756) has posed:
Despite the brash attitude and the strange attitude, Shin is a very skilled martial artist. He is, however, not QUITE at Rock's current level. This means that as the opening moves are launched, most of his effort is spent minimizing rather than directly dodging.
Moving as fast as he can, one hand comes up to try to guide the hook forward. The other comes up to try to guide the straight jab to his face to the side. The result is a partial success on both part. The hook grazes across the chin and the straight punch across his cheek. Both striking with enough force to leave abrasions and stagger Shin a bit. He hops back a bit to create some distance, "You're good. This oughta be fun, even if I lose."
Shin then launches forward, taking the offensive to try to prevent himself from getting closed out and staggered by Rock. He lunges forward, launching a spinning heel kick that quickly pivots into a follow up axe-kick, aimed at the ribs and shoulder of his opponent.
- Rock Lee (678) has posed:
Lee actually meets the spinning heel kick with his -own- spinning heel kick, creating a loud cracking noise from the impact. Though he's caught off guard by the axe-kick, wich slams him down into the ground face and hands first. "You are also very talented! I am not disappointed by your skill!"
Rather than simply stand up, he pushes against the ground with his ridiculous upperbody strength, and starts walking forward on his hands, launching kicks toward Shin upside down. One might take this as ridiculous and showy, but his immediate movement to attacking Shin while walking on his hands obviously saved time inbetween attacks. It would have taken -much- longer to simply stand up, and possibly leave him more vulnerable. He's even looking up from that position, his body slightly bent so that he'll be able to see with his back turned!
- Shin Tokuyama (756) has posed:
In the aftermath of his two kicks, Shin shakes out his leg a bit. Meeting heel to heel like that was a bit jarring and his leg is slightly sore from it. He takes the free half-moment to rub his cheek a bit before Lee immediately follows up with ground-kicks.
Shin hops back and away, careful to try to avoid the attacks where he can. But he can't quite keep up with every one, and so one of the feet strikes home with a powerful 'OOMPH' directly into the gut of the martial artist. He lets out a grunt of pain from the impact, skidding back a bit.
But as he does so, he reaches for Lee's ankle, using the moment of his own injury as a momentary opening to try to catch the other martial artist by the ankle and then swing him around and try to toss him with a heavy amount of force. It was the only effective counter Shin could think of in the heat of the moment.
- Rock Lee (678) has posed:
"Waaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!" Lee goes flying, and smashes into the side of someone's car door, denting and smashing the window. He groans while standing up, then looks back at the rather salaryman looking vehicle. "I hope those things are not expensive!" he says, having no idea about cars.
Still, he rubs his neck, starting to try and stretch his back. "That really hurt..." He breathes a bit, then starts running forward. "You are very strong, I did not expect such strength!" he notes as he appears to be going for a very direct attack. But then at the last moment he jumps into the air, kicking to create a sudden and ridiculous amount of momentum. His entire body spins in a ball, then he sticks his foot out at the last moment, trying to slam his heel into the top of Shin's head.
- Shin Tokuyama (756) has posed:
To the comment about the car, Shin actually gives a confused shrug, "Dunno. I never owned one. I just got the bike two days ago." He kinda grimaces, though, "If people from my other fights are right, though? Super expensive." He looks around a bit to see if the owner has spotted them yet.
"You're strong too. If I was taking your punches straight on, I'd almost surely be out after just a couple," He grins a bit, clearly pretty excited about fighting someone as strong as Rock. Shin steps forward right after this, preparing to meet the charging Rock Lee. So the jump catches him a bit off guard.
"Shit," Shin says, adjusting himself abruptly. His arms cross upwards and he tries to catch the kick between them. He succeeds in this, but it's a pyrrhic sort of success since there's a creak and crack of bones under the impact of the kick as hairline fractures run through Shin's forearms and he lets out a faint hiss of pain from the injury.
His counter, then, is to once more try to grab Lee's leg. But this time, instead of a throw it's more of a yank down. And at the same time he tries to yank Lee down with one injured arm, he swings the other one in a powerful uppercut aimed for Lee's chin, though at this point Shin would settle with connecting at all.
- Rock Lee (678) has posed:
Lee was not expecting -that- sort of adaptation to his technique. There are many skilled hand to hand combatants in his world, but they're often taken off guard. When his leg gets yanked down and the uppercut finds his chin, he clenches his teeth and closes his eyes.
He yanks his leg back, stumbling backward as he wobbles. "You are very quick to adapt to unorthodox moves. Your fighting instinct is finely honed. You are clearly not a slave to your technique." he notes, holding his forehead as he uses the moment he speaks to try and shake his head out of its haze.
But in a flash he goes from holding his head to running, as if to try and take advantage of the sudden shift in his demeanor. He ducks low, then begins trying to deliver a flurry of blows at Shin's stomach and ribs, trying to create an opening so that he can deliver a sudden upward kick, aimed to slam into the bottom of -his- chin. This of course requires a ridiculous amount of flexibility to aim a kick at someone's chin at such a close range . He doesn't really hold back, that's one thing he can never be accused of. He uses the maximum amount of technique. "I cannot let my guard down with you!"
- Shin Tokuyama (756) has posed:
"Boxing!" Shin says, slightly out of breath as he tries to get some distance, explaining, "I adapt a lot of new styles into my core one. Hit someone's chin right, you rattle the brain enough to keep em down," He had hit the chin, but he hadn't hit it right. Jarred, but not full on shook. A solid hit to the chin was still good to land, though. For the moment, Shin shakes out his arms, wincing at the pain as damaged bones scrape against eachother.
When Lee comes in with the flurry of blows, true to his statement about boxing, Shin closes his arms in against his body and changes his stance slightly. This forearms tuck in, those already-damaged limbs taking punch after punch as the pain from Lee's impacts sears through them like a hot iron. But it's better than taking body blows.
But that defense does leave his chin open. And Lee's foot connects with it solidly, sending him flying up and backwards. The martial artist lands on the ground after with a heavy impact and an 'oof' noise. Lee was definitely starting to edge him out in technique and stamina and gaining an advantage. Shin's relative 'youth' in terms of his personal progress is starting to show in that he was still only at the start of his power growth.
After a couple moments, Shin flips up to his feet again. He runs through the moves he could use as he catches his breath, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth as he smiles, "Hoo boy, I think I'm gonna lose this one," He says happily, clearly not minding the idea of taking a loss. He'll at least try to make it fun for Lee, though. And so he dashes in with a burst of speed. Ki is summoned into his shoulder as he springs forward at the last moment. There's not a fist or foot that comes out, instead Shin is throwing his entire body into Lee's own, releasing the Ki at the last moment to make a powerful impact with his shoulder and upper body, "Tetsuzako!" He shouts.
- Rock Lee (678) has posed:
Lee crouches, ready to block some attack. He observes very closely, but wasn't prepared for a full body blow. His eyes widen and feels the impact take his breath away, feeling his own hairline fractures in his ribs from the sudden impact and use of ki.
He goes flying, then slams into a wall, sliding down to his knees as he holds his ribs. He tries to breathe, mentally assessing the damage. "That was a lot of sudden strength... I will honor you with my own!"
He slowly pushes himself back up to his feet, suddenly looking as if he's in deep concentration. "I will open the first gate."
With that said, nothing -visibly- happens. The first gate has no real visual que. Other than the fact that he goes running with a hell of a lot more speed than he had a moment ago. He leaps over that car, then goes running in the way he did before. He even does the jump spin-- Is he going for the same kick?!
No, actually he moves ot jump directly over Shin's head! When he unfolds his body again, he twists around to face Shin's back, then reaches out to try and grab his waist, suddenly pushing against the ground to try and pull him backward with a ridiculous amount of force. Is it...
Yes!
He is attempting a powerful German Suplex augmented by the increased strength and speed of the first gate!!!
- Shin Tokuyama (756) has posed:
Shin had put a lot of his remaining energy into that last attack on his part. It's one of his power-moves that he uses against either strong opponents or weak people that he wants to lay out quickly. So the fact that, even damaged as he is, Rock Lee is still standing? That's not great for Shin.
Shin takes a couple seconds to breath as Lee flies backwards. He nurses his own injured arms and feels for other damage. The blow to his chin was still keeping him a bit shaky, so when Lee announces he's going to step it up a bit, Shin is first surprised that he was holding back at all. And then he's surprised by something else.
Shin doesn't have the speed left in him to counter that grab with as hard as Lee had hit his arms earlier. Even with his ki reinforcement, the bones were going to take a while to heal and he wasn't sure how much more he could fight on them. This means that he doesn't have the strength to try to break the grab as Lee lands behind him and gets him.
So instead, Shin is lifted up and backwards. His shoulders and neck connect with the ground with a solid THUD, the martial artist making a clean impact against the ground to signal that the move was successful. When released, he tumbles away a bit and stays face down on the ground for a few moments while the haze of cement-based impacts clears from his mind. When he can catch his breath enough, he just sorta starts laughing. It's a wheezing sort of noise that carries as much fun amusement as it does Pain.
Eventually, he rolls over onto his back and sits up a bit, "Hahaha, man. I yield. You're way over my current level." He sighs and exhales, coughing a bit and wiping some blood from his mouth, "But I'd love to fight you again when I'm stronger in my journey."
- Rock Lee (678) has posed:
Lee turns around, then offers a thumbs up and a smile, before walking over to offer his hand to help the man up. "I felt my ribs fracture a bit. And I had to open one of my gates, because I felt my regular attacks were not adequate enough! You have come quite far already. I do not open any of my gates for just anyone! It was an honor to fight you."
- Shin Tokuyama (756) has posed:
Shin takes the hand and slowly pulls himself to his feet, grunting a bit as he does so, "Geez, that Gate stuff is extreme. It was like you were a totally different fighter there for a couple seconds. It was way above me," He laughs slightly and then starts to limp his way over to his backpack.
Shin roots around in it for a couple seconds and then pulls out three more five-credit chips. He grabs Lee's original one from his jacket and holds out all four, "Here. You won twenty fair and square. That's the rules of my setup."
- Rock Lee (678) has posed:
"Thank you, though I would like to buy you some curry! I hear they have curry in these Japan worlds!" Lee says as he takes the twenty, then nods firmly. "Let us go and find curry!"
