Date of Scene: | 25 June 2015 |
Location: | KLK Earth <KLK> |
Synopsis: | Sanary and Yari get the grand tour of Honnoji courtesy of Nonon Jakuzure |
Cast of Characters: | 691, Sanary Rondel, 805 |
- Yari Takane (691) has posed:
After taking some time to get all the paperwork in order, Yari Takane has decided to learn more about her allies. She is, technically, still off-duty right now. Thus, rather than her usual uniform, she arrives to the utterly oddly high-perched building that is Honnoji Academy in a classy black dress and high heels. Nor is she alone!
Yari pauses as she reaches the courtyard, taking in the sights. Her head tilts in that slightly lizardy way, and she comments to her compatriot.
"Interesting fortifications. Mmm...high perched, organized, this could pass for a Fort if I there were not students here." She ponders, more right than she knows.
"I wonder if those rumors about students attacking other students is true."
- Sanary Rondel has posed:
It had been quite some time since Sanary's last visit to Honnouji back when the Natural's Election was taking place. Although she didn't really do much at the time, there was plenty to see and hear from all the fighters gathered in one place to stop the rampaging... What's her name. The strangely dressed one with the red thing in her hair.
"It's gotta be. I think fighting's just a regular thing that happens here even more than at Alexander." Sanary chuckles as she walks alongside the Au Ra, dressed in significantly more casual garb consisting of her usual white coat over a t-shirt and... Dress slacks?
Okay, so she's getting a little better at being presentable. "I'd be surprised if it wasn't, honestly. Still, just makes it more interesting."
- Nonon Jakuzure (805) has posed:
It may be hoped that Yari took the cable-car, the one the no-stars are barred from, to get up to the School. Otherwise it would be /quite/ the long walk. Yet one of the many courtyards are arrived to by Yari, as she reaches it and glances about. The rumors of students attacking other students is complete truth - but it would not happen where Yari currently is, as her question is answered with a sudden eruption of sound - four specific women in chairs, one for each, with instruments in hand. At the front, a very small and pink girl.
It's not just sound, though. The girl with a tuba does play, and something of a shockwave ripples through the air, following the small pink girl's wave of her baton, pointing it towards Sanary as she whips around. A one nameless student with a one star uniform crashes backwards from behind, away from Sanary and Yari, the air rippling besides them. "Alright girls, relieve that one of his uniform~. We can't have any sour notes that don't follow one of the major rules here, can we? Guests are off limits." Unless Satsuki claims they are fair game. Not that Sanary and Yari couldn't handle themselves. The four begin to cheerfully carry him off.
"-Didn't expect to see you two here though~. An unexpected duet, as well. Been here long?" She asks, after all - she was just practicing! They could have been there for a while.
- Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Yari tries to not roll her eyes a little at Sanary. She's getting better. Now all they need is a collared shirt, a belt, and maybe a vest. The woman ponders that for a moment, before the other woman brings her back to reality.
In the space that it takes the student to dare to try to assault herself and Sanary, there's a kunai in Yari's tail. She's two-thirds the way through hand-seals, before the poor student is sent flying from a blast of concussive air as directed by the diminutive figure of Nonon Jakuzure. Only when she's certain that the student isn't getting back up, does that kunai dissappear back into her dress.
It takes her a moment to recognize the voice. "Miss Jakuzure, glory and honor, Ma'am!" The Garlean scout snaps to a salute over the chest, pausing for a moment, and then settlign into an at-ease position with one hand behind her back.
"Are these sorts of disciplinary problems common?" She comes curiously.
"Ah, meet Sanary Rondel, if you have yet to. A strong warrior, healer, and..." She trails off. There's a warm smile here, then she focuses on the girl and her compatriots.
"Only a few minutes. That skyrail was a very interesting piece of technology, if lacking in magitek. Practicing for a performance?" She indicates the other (oddly similar looking) girls.
- Sanary Rondel has posed:
That's what Sanary was forgetting! That bell of hers. She'd have to bring that in her next visit, but... That would have to wait until next time. Glancing back at the one-star student with a raised eyebrow, she lets out something vaguely similar to a whistle (but not quite) before turning back to the pink girl and her entourage with a hearty laugh.
"Hey, Nonon. Good to see you're on point with security. Ladies." The one-eyed girl brings her hand up in a quick salute to match Yari's. She manages to keep a calm appearance, at least, even though she really hadn't noticed that student coming until after Yari had started making seals and Nonon blew him away.
Definitely needs to work on her awareness more.
"Ah, we met already. At this one... Wubstep? Angry noise club." She chuckles lightly scratches her cheek at Yari's trailing off, grinning a little dumbly at the implications of that. "How're things going around here? You're looking decked out in... Music stuff."
Really need to bring that bell next time.
- Nonon Jakuzure (805) has posed:
"Oh, not at all~." Nonon exclaims, as the students that were in her small practice session grab a limb each and begin to haul him off. "Infact, this student is going to meet the reason why it's so infrequent~! Say hello to Froggy for me." She sing-songs, turning to the student now in a sudden panic as the mostly alike girls begin to haul him off. There are pleas for mercy. There is no such thing in Honnoujin. Especially not from Gamagoori.
Bowing to Yari is only right, because she is a visitor, a guest. "Lady Takane~, Sanary." She answers, raising herself up again. Still quite smaller than the rest, Nonon doesn't quite go as far to salute. It is home turf, after all, and she's allowed to play it up a bit. "It wasn't so bad, actually. The music was terrible... however the events really salvaged it." She claims, smiling to Sanary, knowingly. Yep. Not helping implications.
Crossing her arms, Nonon's grin spreads, "Magitek? Yeah, and the view's not bad in it either." Nonon remarks, lacking an interest in 'technology'. That was the dog's bone. "Hmm?" Her head tilts, peering at the tail with a kunai in it, peeking to the side. "Looks like you were ready for it, at least~ - and of course!" She remarks, twirling the baton idly, head hooking slightly to the side, "There's a few events that are coming up and have to give the top talent some extra lessons~. Things are kinda normal though since the elections." She responds to Sanary, "Mm? This is my normal clothing here~. I'm always like this." She explains, grinning. Three stars on her hat gleaming.
- Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Yari's brow rises a bit. "Wub...step?" She is clearly unfamiliar with this style of music. There's a glance at the pleading student as they're dragged off. There's a sigh.
"Atrocious. A Garlean Soldier bawling like that would be flogged." Scowl! Clearly this doesn't meet well with Yari's sensibilities.
Piggybacking on Sanary's words, she adds in, "Do you specialize in any music, Miss Jakuzure? I can play an instrument or two, mostly traditional Au'Ran ones. Perhaps we could swap music."
She should have thought of taking her instrument with her!
At least she's lightened up a little, though still stiff and military and formal. But her flicking tail is a dead giveaway to Sanary.
Yari blushes a bit at the 'Lady' bit. "A...Please, Centurion Takane, or Yari if you'd prefer. I am no blue blood." Thankfully, Garlean society is much like Honnoji's in a way.
"Mmm, it seems I keep missing the interesting events. I should attend some of your events. Are guests allowed to participate?" Her eyes light up a little.
"...And is there a cooking contest?" Hope blossoms in dragon-y eyes.
As for Magitek, she raises her armlet. With a flick of a thumb, a green holographic display pops up. This one happens to be a multiversal news feed.
"Technology powered by magic. In this case, Ceruleum ran." She explains briefly before cutting the feed.
"A Garlean soldier is prepared at all times for any contingency. Just because we are off duty, does not mean we do not continue to serve country and Emperor." A completely rote speech, but one filled with real enthusiasm and patriotism.
Then Yari leans in.
"Armored?" She asks. Indicating the clothes.
- Sanary Rondel has posed:
"Good discipline, eh? Good to know." Sanary chuckles lightly and rubs the back of her head, glancing back at that student again and the panic in his face before sighing. "Really don't get what his plan even was... Eh."
Shrugging lightly, she turns back to Nonon with a knowing grin as well. "Fun night. Aside from the... Hearing part. Would've been more fun if my arms weren't screwy, but..." There's another shrug. She glances between Yari and Nonon when the former asks about music, a thoughtful hum crossing her face. "Hey, if you're doing something with music? I'll bring the bell. I can do loud things with it."
It's music to someone, right?
Thinking back on the skyrail, the healer smirks again and nods in agreement with the two while watching that news feed for the brief moment it's up. "Definitely better than flying. /Anything's/ better than flying. Don't know how you two do it so easily..." She laughs again out of habit, already starting to freak out slash sound extremely calm while doing so. She does settle down soon enough, at least, and looks Nonon over again before focusing on her hat.
"So those stars... That's part of a uniform or something?" She gestures at her own head to demonstrate, then glances back at where the student was. "Noticed he had one on his shirt, too... And just about everyone else up here, actually." She sounds rather curious about the whole thing, checking her own coat just to see if there's anything vaguely star-shaped on them. Nope. Just a bird.
- Nonon Jakuzure (805) has posed:
"He's going to be." She claims, flatly, to Yari. "Do you think he'd get away with something like this?~" She almost cheerfully notes, afterwards. "First, Froggy will probably give him a thousand lashes... and then he'll be reduced to a no-star student again. Of course, he wanted it to be a two-star student coming up the stairs. He leapt without looking, that's his problem." She remarks, smirking. At which point his entire family will be moved to the slums. At least he wasn't expelled. It is worse. Somehow.
"Specialize? Well, I /am/ specialized in music." She touts herself, chest puffing up - not that they'd notice much - "All kinds, actually." She adds. Some just happen to be better than others, and the classics are the ones that she enjoys the most. Nonon hates stiff military, but there are times that it calls for it. Thankfully, this is not one of them. "Yari it is then~. Just call me Nonon, in return." She adds, hand at her hip as she leans a certain way, twisting the baton adsently in the other direction. "Oh~! Of course, but you might have to wear a uniform for school spirit~." That may just be a joke. It couldn't hurt, however. She leans towards Sanary, "It was, wasn't it?" She agrees, smirking. "No way though! Flying is way better than being stuck on the ground, and sometimes you need to see things more than just equal with someone else." She relays to Sanary.
"Well, there /is/ a cooking club. I'm sure I could set one up for you, too. A contest to see who can create something that really has some kick to it? Well, it couldn't hurt." Nonon adds, "I am the Non-Athletic Club Chairwoman, here, so you've found the right person." She touts, looking out over the main 'courtyard', the exspanse in the middle of nothing. "Making it should be a free-for-all, last one standing~."
It's never normal, though. It wouldn't possibly be.
"Tech... powered by magic?" She thinks about it for a moment, but shrugs, flatly. "So magic on magic?" She understands it about the same! "I'll have to give you credit for t-" And then Yari leans in, "-hat. Yep." She answers, low-key like, "But not really active." Sanary asks a little more. She turns about, taking the hat off and displaying the three stars. "Ranking, actually. No star students around here are the bottom of the barrel, where one stars are club members, two stars are club chairpersons and three stars... well, there's about five right now~. Lady Satsuki is obviously above us." A grin crosses her lips, "They also determine where you live and just how strong the uniform is."
- Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Yari winces a little bit. "...Just make sure it doesn't hurt any of the students, Sanary." She's seen that bell in action. It's not always pretty!
Between Nonon and Sanary, Yari gets a pretty good idea. "Ah. So they intended to assassinate a fellow student. ...How very violent, but it weeds out the weak I suppose." Even Garleans aren't quite that evil, usually. Then again, they can't afford to lose soldiers meaninglessly.
Yari reaches over, and ruffles Sanary's head. "When you spend hours aboard an airship, you get used to it. I was airsick for three days during my first deployment." Shudder. Bad times.
Yari stands, and gives a slow nod of approval. "I should meet this 'Mister Froggy'. I may well learn a thing or two about keeping discipline among my own unit. Mmm, should've brought some of them." She laments lightly.
Yari seems to look a little lost at 'Just call me Nonon'.
She snaps a salute. "Of course, Ma...ah, Nonon."
The sound that Yari makes is nothing less than a squeal of delight. She visibly perks up and gains a bit of something other than strict military bearing.
"I will not turn down this challenge! Garlean cuisine shall best any here amongst Honnouji! Your tongue shall be delighted beyond measure!" Comes Yari with real life in her voice.
Then she settles down again.
"Th...that is, I would appreciate it. I will have myself fitted for a uniform."
Then Yari's observing. "Interesting. I understand that they enhance one's combat abilities?" It seems she read Nonon's initial report.
- Sanary Rondel has posed:
"It'll be fine. It only blows stuff up if I put magic into it." Laughing lightly, Sanary rubs her forehead for a moment before shaking it quickly. "And only if I shake it. Definitely... Not trying that again." She shivers briefly, recalling that one incident in the Field of Trials. Thankfully, it wasn't outside of there, but... Damn.
Should she ask? She wants to. but... Nah. She'd probably forget who Froggy was without a face to go with the name, anyway. No, Sanary just focuses her efforts on listening to Nonon's explanation about the stars. "Well, I guess it's not so bad if we got mistaken for two-stars, then." She shudders at the mere thought of being on an airship again, though, still manage a light grin even with the unpleasant thoughts. "Nn... Y-yeah, I'll stick to the ground if I can. Or practice with... Something."
Her gaze wanders around a bit while her mind focuses on comprehending how the school works. Trial by combat? Maybe. With Nonon as the Non-Athletic Club Chairwoman, that had to mean the one in charge of the Atheletic Club was even stronger. Which really just meant...
"... Earning your ranks with power. I like that." Still grinning slightly, the healer raises an eyebrow at the notion of uniforms before turning to Yari. "Count me in. We'd probably look pretty good in those uniforms, anyway. Even if we... Uh. Aren't in any clubs or whatever."
Minor detail.
"Getting these uniforms, though... Would we /have/ to be in a club for that, or is it something we can earn by just beating the right person at something?"
- Nonon Jakuzure (805) has posed:
The bell!? "Let her, it'll be a learning experience~. If they get hurt, that's their fault." Nonon remarks to Yari, smiling to her. Student safety is among the very bottom of things that Honnouji cares about. "Oh, no, now you've got to." She exclaims, pointing at Sanary! "If it's a big deal, then I'll want to see its results!" Results? At the very top. "Maybe not assassinate, but their life sure would be~. Going back to the slums isn't a joke, and your entire family is dependent on your success. It's a bit of motivation~." She adds. It's not a meaningless loss to Honnouji either, but Nonon isn't one to /say/ anything about the Plan. Not at all.
That is Satsuki's entire affair.
"Well, he prefers to be called Ira Gamagoori." Nonon states to Yari. "You can't miss him." Which is true, actually. Rumors say if you look close, you can always see Gamagoori - he will be the largest object present. Still, Nonon shrugs, "Well, if you want. You met me, but I guess the others are worth meeting~." Lady Satsuki of course being not among those 'maybes'. She is a definite. "Two or three, they don't look like all the rest here. You were an outsider or a two star to them~ - and well, Sanary, you can ride me next time. If you're up for it." She smirks, seeing Sanary's aversion - and taking it in. She means in the air. IN THE AIR.
Yari's absolute switch over causes Nonon to pause, blinking even. "...Yeaaah now I'll definitely have to pitch it to Satsuki. The Culinary club might try to take you on directly~." It would be a knock down drag out fight, at least! "I can't say, myself. Lady Satsuki makes those decisions... but you're definitely welcome to reach out. While I know Lady Satsuki the best, I still cannot speak for her~."
Grasping her skirt a bit and twirling slightly, Nonon huffs up again - if she had a chest, it'd be puffed with pride. "Mhmm. The more stars, the more specialized they are~. I'm sure you'd look great, but two stars and three stars... well, they're usually club specific, and individual specific. You might have to talk to the Sewing Club chairman about that. Though it's possible yari could /always/ being the Culinary club chairwoman with that kind of fire in her belly."~ She snarks.
- Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Nonon's reaction to Sanary's initial words gets another raised brow. So violent, these students. She can actually respect that.
"I see this school never gets boring. It would've been interesting to have gone here." Not that she ever went to a school, technically.
"It's honestly good to hear that there really /are/ societies that aren't barbaric. Nonon Jakuzure, you would have made a fine Garlean." That, perhaps, is the highest form of compliment Yari could ever give.
Yari considers, and nods to Sanary. "My duties to the Legion come first, of course, but we could consider this training if this Culinary Club is as powerful and willing to strike. Besides, I'd be tarnishing my Legion's honor if I refused a challenge like that. Let Miss Kiryuin know, please, with my regards."
"Interesting. I believe I heard him on the radio once." She visibly winces, rubbing her horns and ears.
"That settles it. I take it guests are free to engage these chairmen at will? With the usual restrictions against fighting guests lifted, of course." There's that kunai again. Seems she's wanting to take them on even without a uniform.
- Sanary Rondel has posed:
"I'll be gentle with 'em. Besides, I can always heal whatever damage I do to the others afterwards. Toughen 'em up a bit." Another light-hearted laugh escapes the healer. Sure, safety is generally a big concern for her, but even students need to learn how to deal with getting hurt! Especially if they're attending a place like this.
"Definitely some good motivation right there. Kinda sucks for the really weak ones, but..." She pauses for a moment, her expression actually looking serious for a moment. "... They'll work their way back up somehow. Either they succeed, or they'll just keep being weak and fail again."
Grunting lightly in approval, Sanary's mood quickly lifts itself back up at the vaguely familiar name. "Ohh... That's the really huge guy in the bond-uh... Whipping... Suit, right?" She bites back a snicker at the recommendation to ride WITH Nonon next time. "Y-yeah, that sounds... Nn. Maybe I'll get used to it if I just keep trying it."
The talk of cooking and fighting competitions seems to be a more comfortable topic for Sanary, at least, since she actually grins again without any semblance of fear or anger. "I dunno if we'll stand a chance again any of the Chairs in cooking or in fighting, but it'll be an interesting learning experience either way." She pauses for a moment, then nods with fierce determination!
".. Know what? I want to fight Satsuki one day. Weird... Suit and all."
- Nonon Jakuzure (805) has posed:
"It certainly has been interesting." Nonon explains, stretching out a little and sitting on the edge of the side where they all stand. She's safe, she can fly. It's totally fine. "This is the first year with every year filled, so this will be an exciting year~." She notes, kicking her legs a bit. "Would I?" She asks, twisting around to look up at Yari, hands at the sides beside her. "Well, thank you. I probably would have made a fine many things, but I don't imagine I'd be happiest anywhere else, especially under Lady Satsuki, as I am." Phrasing.
Flatly, Nonon states, "Yeah, that's him alright." You can potentially already hear him yelling at that other student, echoing through the halls.
"I'll tell her I'm adding an event, she'll trust me." Comes a statement from Nonon, "Buuut you probably should wait so I can make it completely official~." To answer Yari's questions! To Sanary though, she shrugs. "Well, if you want to. They're expected to recognize the danger they're in. Every lesson is important, not just how to take more hits. If so, then that'd be the focus of Honnoujin." She continues. Yet there is a pause when Sanary says how it sucks for the weak students.
Nonon's voice goes flat, "We don't really need the weak. The ones that cannot make it to school, who ditch, who are late, suffer increasing penalties until they are expelled. We don't care about them anymore when that happens." 1000 cannon-ball serves to the face, for example, is a fitting late-penalty. She does not state it though. "Honnouji is a place for only the best~." She cheerfully adds, to Sanary, grinning. "Yep! And you'll have to be on top when you ride me, there's only enough room for me on the front of the Uniform. Usually I'd reserve it just for Lady Satsuki, but I might make an exception." It's unlikely though that Yari or Sanary wouldn't best the two stars - they may try, though! If Ryuko could take a few out in one go...
"Weird?" She almost recoils, "No, the transfer student's one is weird, Lady Satsuki's is beautiful." She corrects, "That's pretty lofty, though~. I don't think I could stand against her, even if I gave everything."
- Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Yari, for her part, just slowly /looks/ at Sanary. She's silent. Staring. /Confused/.
"....Eh?" She grunts incredulously, trying to not imagine this too hard. Nonon might want to save poor Yari. Distractions!
Yari hmph's! "A strong arm such as yours, and my own burning Garlean culinary spirit will overcome any mere student! My blood is the iron of my home, and my palette beyond any mere human's!" A pumped fist. OH yes, Yari is pumped up here.
The last bit has Yari beaming with pride at Sanary.
Even from here, Yari is wincing from that yelling. /Ow/. Sigh.
"Alright, then, I will wait for something official. Well, I'll still give them my regards, anyway. Respecting one's enemies is important, they give us strength." And by 'regards', she likely means a few kunai to various extremities.
Luckily for all involved, Yari doesn't say a darn thing about Nonon's choice of grammar. Ahem!
"Is this natural flight, or do you use a vehicle?" Convenient conversation turn!
- Sanary Rondel has posed:
That phrasing doesn't go unnoticed, if Sanary's muffled snickering is anything to go by. She's getting better at hiding it, but that's not really saying much with how obvious it is she's biting the inside of her lips. She gives Yari an apologetic look, although it's clear she's having trouble maintaining her composure and resisting the urge to explain it to the poor Au Ra.
At least she isn't shaking any more.
"Yeah, I'll bring my bell whenever you two want to try the music thing. Although.. Uh." She clears her throat awkwardly. "I'm not really... Good at it? I mean, I just use the bell to fight more than anything else. And the horn is... Also for fighting. But I'll try learning it!"
If only enthusiasm was enough to make up for a complete lack of musical talent. Or talent at all, really, once the topic of weak students is brought up again. "Exactly. We didn't get here because we gave up at the hard things." She pounds a fist into her palm. "No, we just took it hard and gave it back even harder!"
And then more snickering. That was supposed to be serious, but she can't help it! By the time Nonon mentions being on top, the healer turns around and takes a few steps back just to breathe slowly before returning with a calm look on her face again. Thankfully, Yari's not making it any worse for the one-eyed girl, and the shift towards flight is...
Well, it's better than stifled giggling the whole time.
- Nonon Jakuzure (805) has posed:
Confusing though Sanary may be at times, Nonon cannot save you, Yari. Especially not from bondage Gamagoori. No one can save you from that. "I can't wait to taste it firsthand then." She remarks to Yari, smirking. It'll definitely be tasty - if there is anything left after the cooking climax. It could really be a very interesting event!
"Feel free~." She adds to Yari, "That's up to them how they want to respond until then." Though the regards is nice. Vehicle or natural?
It might be a bit of a game with what she is saying to Sanary, though she nods. "Bring it anyways? Not everyone is going to be great at everything." She stakes, shrugging. Nonon buries her face in her hands for a sect, before stating something. "That one was kind of bare, wasn't it Sanary?" She snickers, "You just left it out there, naked."
She grabs an edge of the uniform and pulls. "This, this is how I fly actually~." She answers simply.
- Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Hands go to her hips. "Then you will taste it all, by force if I must! Hmm...bannana marangue...Garlean Garlic Cream Pie...you shall be stuffed, Nonon!" Truly, the girl sure can rub off on people in a short amount of time.
Mmm! "Sanary is correct! We take our poundings and lumps with pride!"
But then she gets the 'okay'. Saluting, it seems that Yari is off for now!
There are, minutes later, sounds of a fight coming from the general location of a kitchen.
- Sanary Rondel has posed:
"That's the plan. If that Gamgoog... Froggy guy is a sign, then it shouldn't be too hard to fit the horn in." Sanary chuckles lightly again and crosses her arms behind her head. She can't improve without learning from her betters, after all! Nonon's reaction does draw another bout of snickering from the healer after a bit, though, and she has to turn around again to take another moment to calm herself.
And then Yari joins right in, and that's pretty much it for Sanary. After a long bout of howling laughter rivaling a dragon in volume, she finally turns back around to the two. "Oh... Oh geez. Y-yeah. We'll.. Next time. We'll do that stuff." She glances over at Yari as the Au Ra starts to leave, then offers Nonon another quick salute before running after Yari.
"Be safe, Nonon. Ah.. Wait up!" Someone's gotta take care of those injuries.
