Cast of Characters: | 253, 545 |
- Psyber (253) has posed:
Psyber, owing to both a fondness for Lila herself as well as her relationship with Ariel, didn't waste any time in working on guns for Lila immediately. Her specifications were pretty simple: One revolver, one semi-automatic. An easy order to fulfill for someone with his particular skillset in gunsmithing.
Thusly, he can be found in the obvious place: The workship. There's a number of parts laid out on a table in front of him, picked out from any number of boxes and compartments in the room. He's got a small file in one hand and the barrel of a gun in the other and seems to just be putting some finishing touches on it.
- Lila (545) has posed:
It's not a hard guess as to where Psyber would be. Lila is... well, she's still holding that cocky smile of hers, with the playful look of a child, but today she's a little more serious in what she actually says now.
Sweeping into the room, she finds a spot to hop up and sit, swinging legs lazily. "Annoying to ask for it, but they are more convenient than relying on magic at all times. And familiar, reassuring. Weapons of murder and death are things I can understand." Not... the most pleasant way of putting things, but it's probably a close thing to an invitation to talk.
- Psyber (253) has posed:
Her having met with him prior, she can potentially tell a more quiet streak out of Psyber as she sits down. He looks up from filing the barrel and fitting it a little bit, "Is that why you asked for them now, after what happened to Ariel?" He inquires in a placid tone. It carries neither accusation nor judgment, "It can hurt to see someone you care about damaged. It is not uncommon to seek familiarity."
He lets his red eyes rest upon her, "I'll be done fairly quickly, I have a great deal of parts, I simply need to tune them to fit together. I want to give you the best gun possible. In exchange, perhaps you can answer me a question." A long pause, "Nothing about your past, but something about the present." He reassures her, setting down the barrel and picking up a trigger and a small screwdriver.
- Lila (545) has posed:
Legs sway again, and Lila gives Psyber a funny look. "Is that what you think it is?" She, however, doesn't actually /deny/ feeling something for Ariel. Perhaps not even she knows if it's a correct statement or not. It's not as if she's super in touch with her feelings.
"A question? I might answer, I might not~" She flashes a smile of her own, but doesn't say no of course. "What is it you want to know?"
- Psyber (253) has posed:
"When bad things happen, you retreat to what you know. Be it... tools of killing, baking, reading. It depends on the person," Psyber notes somberly as he seems to reach the trigger sensitivity he wants and then puts the parts down, "But I can't say for certain. I'm no Nathan Hall."
"I'm going to kill... what's his name... Tiberius. I have an idea, I have a plan that sums down to 'next time I see him I'm going to blindside him with all my power', and some other ideas. I want to know what info you can give me about it," He notes as he slowly guns assembling the handgun in front of her.
- Lila (545) has posed:
Leaning back, Lila thumks her head against the wall and hmms. "Is that all? Well... Tiberius is... immortal. Undead, no longer human. He has placed his soul beyond reach, and will regenerate - mostly - from whatever damage you do to him. He is, quite simply, unkillable to a degree even other Anticross would envy."
Interesting choice. 'would' envy, she says. "Of course he can't really feel anything and is quite insane," she continues. "But anything you did to him would be a delaying tactic, at best... under normal circumstances."
- Psyber (253) has posed:
Psyber frowns at hearing this and looks up at Lila, "I see. Vexing to hear. I've been told men were unkillable before, and most claims to it have been valid within reason," Psyber admits to her, starting to put the last pieces of the handgun together, "This means my trump card is necessary, if it'll work at all," He looks upset at this, but no less determined.
"Thank you for this information," He says as he sets the first gun down on the table in front of her, "In exchange, this is a Browning Hi Power. I swapped out most of the factory parts with custom jobs from my personal stock. Hair trigger, 15 rounds, custom slide and barrel work. It should be as accurate as a laser and as light as a feather."
As he leaves the gun there, he goes to a storage locker on the other side of the room and starts gathering up parts into a box for the next part, "I have most of the parts for your second gun pre-made. It shouldn't take more than a couple minutes to fit it together."
"What will you do after this is all over?"
- Lila (545) has posed:
Lila hesitates a moment, before she adds something to her initial statement. "If you intend on taking care of him for good... you should know that he can't undo his own immortality. Put him somewhere he can't escape or focus on escape, and that will be enough." There's a slight twitch of her lip, as if there's something she's not saying, but she moves on to the next question with a more serious expression, all while inspecting the Browning.
"Do?" She finally asks. "When this is over? Hm. I hadn't really thought about it~!" She looks up with a smile. "I think I'd like to live with Ariel. She's fun. Maybe take a trip up that mountain. I don't know. What do normal people do?"
- Psyber (253) has posed:
That last question from Lila gives Psyber a very, very long pause. She might get the impression that he's mad at h er asking him what normal people do, or that she's upset him somehow. In actuality, the answer comes when he quietly says, "I don't know what they do," Before sitting down.
He starts to take parts out of the box. Wooden grips, metal frame. It looks OLD, though. So most of his work is spent on polishing the pieces with a cloth and tuning them up with a screwdriver and other minor tools, "But I think staying with Ariel is a good start. Her family are good people. They're lucky to have eachother."
"Maybe consider getting a job or going to school."
- Lila (545) has posed:
"I don't think I could go to school," Lila admits. "But it might be fun to try. I'm a little older than I look. Or a lot older. I know I'm adorable and cute, but I am... likely older than most anyone you know! Except maaaaaaaybe the unspeakable one." She kicks her legs lazily.
"But I've not going to school in a long while. I should try that!"
- Psyber (253) has posed:
He gives her a charming smile, breaking the serious face he had a moment ago, "It's fine, many women pursue college education well into their golden years," He replies, "Though how come you do look so young? Why was your age stuck at what it is?" He doesn't doubt her age, though. Someone as old as Hastur is impressive.
The gun is getting assembled now! Piece by piece, this one is much more complex, although made of less parts. Psyber just has to tune and change something with every new piece. The final product is a revolver that, instead of the cylinder coming out, the entire revolver breaks downward to eject cartridges, "This is one of the older revolvers. Smith and Wesson Model 3, Schofield. Something old and something new, I guess. It seemed to fit you."
- Lila (545) has posed:
Lila is already sighting along the Browning, hefting it from hand to hand to get a feel for it. "Lighter than I am used to, but... ah..." Now this is something she can appreciate as well, the heavier revolver giving a smile to her.
"It's simply the way my age is set," she says, which is... not so much an answer. "It's complicated and you wouldn't believe me, most likely, if I told you the truth. I'll simply say that things are very different from what I'm used to now, and I'm enjoying it. I hope they continue to be different."
- Psyber (253) has posed:
"Haha, might be a bit light, but it has stopping power." He counters, starting to clean his hands off with a rag as she looks at the revolver, "Schofield's a hell of a gun. Always liked it more than the Peacemaker."
"And right, complex supermagic, I suppose," Psyber comments, placing his hands into his pockets, "If you need ammo, I can give you some. I only didn't include a couple boxes because you mentioned handloading," Psyber comments before grinning at her, "I hope they continue to be different for you too. I would like to see you remain happy."
