Synopsis: | Golden and a Shoutmon meet Blurr. |
Cast of Characters: | Blurr, 782 |
- Golden (782) has posed:
The hairpin turns and unpaved roads attract some for the thrill of it, while others are here for more important reasons. A ramshackle looking go-kart speeds along at breakneck speeds along these forgotten byways, driven by a small red saurian digimon with a distinct V shaped head, grinning like a maniac as he and his passenger are bounced all over the road in the vehicle. The passenger hangs on for dear life in the rumble seat behind the mania-possessed Shoutmon, smaller than the driver and distinctly shaped like a weird golden ball with limbs (Basic idea: http://wikimon.net/Metal_Mamemon). "Are you sure this is the fastest way to Spike's camp?" the passenger asks.
"Yeah man, totally. Just trust me!" the shoutmon bellows, somehow making more noise than the high-pitched rumbling whine of the engine and wind whipping down the crevasses the roads hug.
- Blurr has posed:
The fastest way? A go-kart? Ha! Blurr is of a mind to challenge that. Therefore it's not long before driver and passenger notice a very sleek-looking blue hovercraft quickly approaching from behind. He scans the vehicle ahead, identifying it as a small motorized vehicle designed by humans. And the beings riding in it are one of those people who are like Duke, the Digimon he met before.
The hover speeder pulls up alongside the go-kart, matching its speed, and what appears to be a blond-haired young man in his late teens leans out of the window slightly. "Sure there isn't another way to get to wherever you're going? This isn't exactly what you'd call smooth terrain."
- Golden (782) has posed:
The smaller digimon shouts back at the teen, struggling more to be heard than out of any anger. "Hey, beggars can't be choosers! Buzz, slow down! You're gonna kill us both!"
"No way man! I got the NEED. FOR. SPEED!" the shoutmon gleefully exclaims, letting out a high-pitched howl of excitement as he tries to pass up the sleeker hovercar. Not going to happen given the vast disparity of quality between the machines, but Buzz believes he can make it.
As if on cue, there's a sharp turn that the kart is taking way too fast. Golden oofs as the taped-together vehicle careens to one side and the shoutmon whips the wheel around to recover and ends up spinning out into the side of the sheer canyon wall.
- Blurr has posed:
The passing up thing isn't happening. Nope! Any time the kart speeds up, Blurr just matches it easily. But then the crazy one sends it out of control, causing it to careen to the side toward the canyon wall.
"Slag it!" the Autobot curses, and the hoverspeeder begins to transform. The 'teenager' disappears, and Blurr is suddenly diving toward the wall, attempting to catch the kart and prevent it from coming to harm!
- Golden (782) has posed:
The kart is easy to catch, and its riders are clinging to it even as Blurr grabs it.
Both of them are hanging from it as they look at the giant robot in awe.
Buzz speaks first. "That was so awesome!"
While Golden shoots the shoutmon a dirty look. "What'd I /just/ tell you, Buzz?"
The shoutmon is grinning like a loon. "Don't care. Totally worth it."
Golden sighs. "Thanks for saving us. People call me Golden and this is Buzz. He's a Shoutmon and I'm a MetalMamemon."
- Blurr has posed:
Blurr nods, putting the kart down as gently as possible. "No problem, but you two should be more careful next time." he says, but gives Buzz a more pointed look. "Why are you coming through here of all places, anyway?" he asks, surveying the extremely treacherous terrain. Perhaps the same ought to be asked of him, but dangerous terrain doesn't faze Blurr as much, since he doesn't have to rely on tires or anything.
- Golden (782) has posed:
Buzz says "Golden here wants to talk to some pals of his."
Golden frowns. "Buzz said it was the quickest way to get to where some folks I need to talk do are holed up. There's people hunting us and I want to make sure they're not staying too long in one place. And maybe tell them where safer hidey holes are." The digimon glances around. "Though I guess this place is pretty safe since nobody who doesn't fly would have trouble."
"How about you, why're you out here?"
The shoutmon has decided to occupy himself by inspecting his vehicle, checking various pieces of it to make sure it isn't too damaged.
- Blurr has posed:
"Classified." Blurr replies to the question of why he is out here. He smirks a little bit. "Here, safe? Well I guess it depends on safe from -what-." The terrain itself is certainly nothing to joke about. "But if you can find a place that's away from the environmental hazards, said hazards do make it more difficult for whoever's after you to get to you, I suppose."
He pauses. "Who's hunting you?"
- Golden (782) has posed:
Golden spares Buzz a glance. "Other digimon, the ones who got tickets into paradise while the rest of the world burned."
- Blurr has posed:
Blurr arches a brow ridge at them. "Oh? And why are they after you?"
- Golden (782) has posed:
Golden ehs. "Because the god-machine told them to. Pretty much doesn't want anyone to interfere with its pet world. It's also scouting out the Multiverse and will probably decide it doesn't like it. Yggdrasil doesn't like what it can't control."
- Blurr has posed:
"Yggdrasil?" Blurr asks. "Who is that? The 'god-machine'?"
"Heh, sounds like a control freak problem." Like how Cybertronian government used to be.
- Golden (782) has posed:
Golden nods. "Yeah, pretty much. It's not like anyone who escaped knows how to get into Yggdrasil's private party. Not sure why it wants to finish the job."
