Pillage and Plunder
Date of Scene: 27 October 2015
Location: Asian Plains
Synopsis: Yari Takane, Sanary Rondel, and Mantigora seek vengeance against the Ayame clan for their actions against Yari.
Cast of Characters: 583, 691, Sanary Rondel

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
The Ayame Clan stronghold consists of a large tract of land out in the Asian Plains. A lonely island, its stormy beaches blend into thick bamboo forests and then into the rice patty fields and tiny spatterings of civilization where the peasants that serve the clan make their meager living. High up above, with a series of large hills leading to stone walls, the ninja clan rules with an iron fist.

Rather than risk getting blameless peasants involved in the whole affair, Yari and her cohorts along the mission have opted for a low fly-by in a stealth transport, dropping the group off in the paths between rice patty fields. They've also been given nightvision goggles and a map of the stronghold: it's a simple affair, a four-story pagoda rising up in the center, with a longer living quarters nearby, with two smaller outposts near the front gates. One bored looking guard can be seen at the gate, in light armor and with a naginata, while the figure of what might be an archer roams the walls.

The fighter will remain stealthed, ready to pick up the operatives in the storm weather, and to pick up any hand-carryable loot. Yari herself is dressed in dark camo and fatigues, perfect for the stormy rain and heavy cloudcover. Miserable, chilly conditions, but perfect for a stealth approach. Yari signals to the others, starting an approach to the eastern hill. It'll be a rough climb in the rain, but with the help of spurrs, Yari gets up to the wall undetected. Up above the sound of an archer walking by is heard. One high ninja-leap gets Yari halfway up the wall, then another, and the poor man is pounced. He gurgles quietly, then the body is tossed down from the wall. A pair of ropes come tumbling down.

From up top, it looks like the walls are now utterly unguarded with the death of one ninja, and the rain. Lights from paper lanterns can be seen in the alleyways around what's likely the living quarters. The two other buildings seem to be without light, and the Pagoda too is lit.

"I say we each hit a building, then converge on the Pagoda. If you find one of the peasants, leave them alive, but kill anyone in Ayame clan colors or with a weapon." Those colors being white and blue.

The larger non-pagoda building seems the most populous, with the two storehouses less so.

Mantigora (583) has posed:
The nightvision goggles are unnessary, Mantigora has the function and several other filters built right into her nanotech augmentations. The map, that's a great thing to have though, already blipping on her HUD. She's been studying it the entire march up the hill. Looks like most of the guards save the occasional archer, or the ninja like the one Yari dispatched, have retreated indoors in the weather. So no one shooting them as they climb up the walls, either.

"I'll deal with the barracks." The Draken pauses, the click-clacking of her battle claws into place from her arms audible despite the bitter weapon. "Hardly the first time I've had to uproot entire squad on my own." That almost demonic fangy grin is very not a pretty thing to see, unless you like looking at living images of malice.

It's the last thing seen of her for the moment as Mantigora jumps down the wall, disappearing under her cloaking field as she does so, and slinks off towards the barracks structure. She figures she's better suited for dealing with the large number of clansmen that are likely inside due to the weather, and keep them from responding quickly to her compatriates causing their own trouble.

Best way to stop guards is to kill them first, as the old Draken warsaying goes.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Stealth missions have never been Sanary's forte, but becoming a well-rounded and renowned soldier means doing anything that's thrown her way! It's for that reason that she's actually in disguise today, wearing a plain brown tunic with even plainer gray pants to give her the look of a peasant from a distance. She's also carrying two large straw baskets on a pole, hefting the whole thing behind her shoulders fairly easily. She's not defenseless, of course, keeping a small hatchet worn on her hip and her gunaxe hidden inside the basket.

Climbing isn't too hard without those baskets being weighed down by much, at least, and she joins Yari up that wall before peering at those buildings from behind the nightvision goggles and scratching her side idly. "Forgot how itchy this stuff gets... I could fit a lot in here, so I'll hit..." She winces briefly once she takes those goggles off to turn to Mantigora and Yari, just in time to watch Mantigora make her move!

"... Storehouse on the left. Holler if you need backup." She flashes the ninja a brief grin before climbing back down, and she starts making her way to the storehouse rapidly once she touches down! She'll actually try sticking to the shadows for once, taking advantage of the rain to muffle her footsteps.

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Yari gives a smile to both. Cue a salute to Mantigora, and a grin to Sanary.

"Glory and Honor. Be careful, both of you."

With that, Yari too slips off to her own storehouse.

She makes a silent hop off the wall, letting Sanary take the lead before she heads towards the right storehouse. Along the way, she makes a detour for the front gate. Ducking behind a convenient well, she waits until the grumbling guard is deep in a stretch and a yawn before she's behind him, a short blade cutting his throat hard before it's a quick trip down the well with a splash muffled by the rain.

LEFT STOREHOUSE: Sanary's approach is unseen, a single guard patrolling past the storehouse towards Yari's. It's practically unguarded, and the thin bamboo slats that function as doors open smoothly once reached.

The entryway leads into a hallway, with three doors. The first two are siderooms on the left and right sides, and then a long stretch of hallway to a much larger set of doors. There's light coming from the larger doors, and the sounds of snoring coming from within, that's punctuated occasionally by the mumbles of suspiciously drunken guard followed by a bit more noise. In the dim light from the lantern, there's the figure of what might be a dog approaching the door that's slightly ajar, sniffing!

Barracks: Mantigora's stealth system works perfectly despite the rain, and she's easily able to get up close. There's a single guard similar to the one at the front at the side entrance to the building, and grumbles and general sounds of late-night drunken comraderie. The map would show one long set of bunk-type areas on the right side of the building, with the rest composed of what's likely a storehouse for food and equipment. Mantigora can chance offing the guard up front, or simply passing on by to the interior where there's an empty long hallway before the barracks portion, and a serving girl in a pink kimono making her way towards the barracks doors with sake bottles.

RIGHT STOREROOM: Yari's own storeroom is much the same as Sanary's, only in reverse fashion. She slips right in after a quick peek inside just as that previous guard makes his way for the storehouse. One quick scan of two of the rooms finds them empty for the most part. A few choice swords and a few extra smoke bombs are obtained, but everything else isn't worth taking. Then, she heads towards the last room, ducking in swiftly as she hears her new guard friend enter, heading her way! Inside the main room here, it seems to be nothing but dried foodstuffs, though a scroll or two catches her eyes! A bust and now she's trapped!

Mantigora (583) has posed:
The cloaking effect isn't perfect in incrimental weather, but with it being nighttime besides one wouldn't be likely to notice the droplets dribbling against 'nothing' unless it was upclose and too late. All the same Mantigora is pretty confident her advanced futuristic tech has these ninjas outclassed. That is no reason to get careless, though. Ninjas have their reputation for a reason, and to get arrogant just for a small advantage would be foolishly fatal.

Always give your enemies proper concern for their abilities, even if yours are superior.

While it would be easy to do so Mantigora opts not to spill the guards' guts all over the ground, on the off chance he got a chance to raise an alarm of some sort. Instead she waits for him to check in the opposite direction and then slip past behind him.

Inside she stays close to a wall, checking the hallway back, then sneaking after the servant. Shadowing her should give her ample oppritunity to get close to the barracks... and the girl is just a servant, neither dressed or armed as a clanmemer. Therefor, not a target. Or a victim. She is a convenient trail to follow though.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Sanary furrows her brow as she watches that guard, keeping those goggles tucked away for the time being to keep herself from being identified too easily as an outsider. "Yari. One incoming from my storehouse. Watch yourself." She mutters over the comms before slipping into that storehouse, shaking off the rain and generally trying her best to just look like a peasant getting dry instead of someone preparing to take everything that isn't nailed down.

Hearing those guards, the cleric weighs her options. Take them out and risk compromising her stealth, or avoid them and risk running into them at an inopportune time? She doesn't have to make that decision just yet, however, as she sees that shadow approaching! Of course, with those baskets dangling in front and behind her, she's not about to get into either of the side rooms stealthily.

So what does she do? Start making noise, of course! Shaking off that rain isn't exactly quiet, and she even groans much like the older women in her village used to do when the rain bothered them. If she can't hide, she can at least try to bluff her way through in convincingly, especially if that really is a dog and it ends up bringing the guards out, anyway.

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
LEFT STOREHOUSE: Sanary's acting proves more than plausible, and the dog lets a little grunt of a woof before settling back down into a corner of the room. The guard, however, stands and stumbles for the door.

"Ugh...keep yer...yer mouth shut ya old bat! Told ya to stop comin' into here. Food's in the /other/ storehouse idiot." A ninja in clan colors thuds right out onto the floor, reeking of cheap sake.

An easy kill, but what about the door? It seems to be sleeping right now.

Inside Sanary's storehouse are several chests full of gold, as well as a number of more well-kept shuriken and other various palm to forearm sized weapons. Yari would love some of these, and there's even an ornate axe on the wall!

RIGHT STOREHOUSE:

"Got it!" Thankfully she's prepared thanks to Sanary. A quick thump against a piece of wood, and the guard huh's!? He walks up to the door, hand on the slats, and...

SHANK! Wakizashi straight through the heart. She rolls him down, and covers him with a few extra mats in the room. Scratch one guard, but nothing in here to write home about. Yari grabs a bite of jerky that's hanging on the wall for morale purposes and to quiet her stomach, before going to search the last room. Nothing. Definitely a bust overall.

"Area clear. Proceeding to overwatch position."

Slipping out of the building, Yari leaps up to the top of it and looking for the others.

Mantigora shadows the servant easily enough, the young woman barely into her late teens from all appearances. She slides open the barracks doors.

Quickly delivering sake to a trio of ninja, all scruffy looking thuggish types playing at bones, the poor girl soon gets pulled down by one of them! She smacks at him uselessly while the others laugh!

There's eight other guards in the room, most of whom either drunk or asleep in their beds aside from the trio tormenting the poor serving girl! No one's yet to notice Mantigora!

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Although Sanary does grin a bit at the woof from the dog, the guard ninja's response draws a displeased groan from the healer. She's not quite sure whether to feel good about being able to sound like a convincing old woman.

Well. Either way, she's not going to let his drunkenness go to waste. Approaching the ninja cautiously, she peers about to make sure she isn't being observed before hoisting him over her shoulder. "Come on, ya big baby. Gonna get a cold if you sleep there..." She can't be too careful just in case someone /is/ listening, right? Provided that he doesn't struggle too much, she'll take him to that storeroom and, without any prying eyes around to interrupt, crush his throat. Best not to leave a bloody trail, after all!

"Good haul in here... Anything I should keep my... /Eye/ out for?" She mumbles over the comms, snickering a moment later. Even before getting any responses, though, she'll have already started loading up her baskets with stuff (after getting her own gear out of there)! Shuriken, weapons, gold, and even the axe go right in! Hopefully, nobody will actually ask her about why her baskets are so damn heavy.

Mantigora (583) has posed:
Unseen eyes narrow a bit as one of the drunken soldiers pull the servant girl aside despite her protests. While hardly an individual of moral inclinations, there was a certain amount of .. distaste to this activity. The girl was merely doing her job, and that is how she is treated? It's almost as disgusting as the thoughts the man is likely thinking.

Despite being your big bad conquring the galaxy Empire, the Dominion actually has some pretty strict compliances when it comes to maintaining the safety and sanctity of it's civilian populance. Because without the people, there is no Empire. But that's slightly straying off track. The fact that these men are disrespecting a ordinary girl doing her job is the important thing.

Which would be why a a pair of sleek arm-blades plunge into the man's arm, aiming for crippling his muscles enough to let the young girl break free, as the form that could easily be mistaken as demonic appears attatched to the weapons.

"If I was you, little girl, I would run."

The barb-tuffed end of her tail snaps fast enough to make a whipcracking noise as it swipes at one of the other men in the trio, right at his face.

"This is going to get delightfully messy."

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
LEFT STOREHOUSE: "Ahh...always worryin' about us. Yer a good ol' ba...AUCK!" His good drunken cheer is cut short as his throat is smashed in, and after writhing uselessly, he falls silent. Scratch another guard.

Never call clerics old women, oh mook guards.

Yari radios back, "Money, gems, and any scrolls you can find. I mostly want their knowledge, and we'll send an extraction crew later for the big things. Anything that you like, Sanary. Go wild."

BARRACKS: The poor serving girl screams as the man's arm erupts in viscera, his grip broken and the man howling in pain as he falls to the ground, clutching his arm. His other compatriot catches a tail to the face hard enough to stable, crack his head against the table, and fall unconscious. The third is more alert, howling out 'Intruder'!

But most of the light guard outside are dead, and the others are very slow to awaken. Most don't even bother, but Mantigora would find the third ninja coming at him with a pair of wakizashi, while two more draw katana and rush for her back!

The guard outside turns, and almost immediately meets a kunai in the back before being dragged up to the rooftop Yari had been inhabiting.

"Looks like you have their attention. I'll kill any reinforcements. Don't leave any of them alive, hornsister. Sanary? Feel free to help or wait near the Pagoda." Yari radios as she watches the poor servant girl flee towards the village.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
That felt good. That felt /very/ good. And yet... It's not enough. Only one? Surely there have to be more guards to whet her...

Sanary shakes her head quickly, clearing those thoughts from her head as she gets back to packing more gear into her baskets. She makes sure not to get too much gold this time, since she does need to make sure the baskets can actually hold with all that stuff jumbling around in them!

"Understood. Got some nice gear with me, and there's some big chests with gold in 'em. Too bulky to bring out now, though. Uh... No scrolls, though." A slow grin creeps across her face at hearing about Mantigora's guard situation, though, and she's actually feeling pretty good about not blowing her cover yet. But with that sort of opportunity, it would be so easy to just try drawing all those guards her way...

"Sounds like you two got that taken care of, so I'll... I'll head for the pagoda and start scouting. But if there's too many of 'em, I might have to go straight to plan B." What's plan B? It's definitely not stealthy. Until that happens, though, Sanary's not going to let that urge jeopardize the mission. She keeps her cool long enough to start approaching the pagoda, sticking to the shadows again and hacking up non-existent mucus to prep for the old woman bag in case it's needed again.

Mantigora (583) has posed:
"Like I planned to," Mantigora replies over her internalized comm in a tone that could be taken as being a little too cheerful about what she's about to do.

Almost as if a testament to her previous thoughts about not underestimating opponents, difference in eras doesn't stop the wakizashi from slicing through the shoulder of her armored longcoat even as she partially twists away from the attack. It cuts into her thick skin.. but likely to the shock of her attackers (if they're not too drunk to not notice it) there is no blood as her nanosuit quickly patches over the wound to protect it from aggrivation.

The twisting motion maneuvers in the Draken's favor as it brings her to face the other attacker and catch one katana between her blades, followed by a kick in the gut to knock him backwards into the other. Yet she doesn't go after them, or even the first attacker, with her blades.

She doesn't have to. The energy field her nano-tech can project is already radiating out from her, turning their tactical advantage in numbers against them as the tech metaphorically chews into them... and then detonates, causing something akin to a small explosion-like shockwave with the Stalker at the epicenter of it.

Numbers aren't so much of an advantage after all. Oops.

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
BARRACKS: The man that manages to slice into Mantigora grins.

"Hah! Not too tou..." His eyes go wide as the wound reseals, and he drops back in fear.

"D...DEMON!"

Before the other rousing warriors can attack, one man is kicked away, and then a shockwave tears through the room. The explosion causes men to splatter, slashed and exploded to bids, the attack sending a few lucky men out the door, while the rest are simply torn to gorey bits. It's now a charnel house in the barracks.

There's a few claw-like weapons not unlike Mantigora's to be looted, but they're far inferior in quality. Unless Mantigora wants a nice kimono that's been miraculously unbloodied, there's shite for loot.

The few men that run are picked off by Yari with a duo of shuriken and then a leaping stab from the rooftop.

"That all of them, hornsister?"

PAGODA: It's big, four storied, and utterly japanese in design. There's a duo of guards at the front door, wearing clan colors, but fully masked. Unlike the ones that have been seen before, they're utterly on alert, only the barracks' position keeping everything from being obvious. Still, shouldn't they at least have heard everything? The dour figures seem to care little for the goings on. Nor are there any other means of entering except straight through the front door. Sanary can try to break on in. Here, it looks like force may be the only way!

"Do what you have to. I'm on my way."

Mantigora (583) has posed:
Mantigora actually grabs the kimono, folding it up and stuffing it into her semi-subspace-like inventory. Hey, in her line of work you never know what Planet of Hats you need to blend in on... Besides, she can load it into her holo-wardrobe later and not have to worry about it taking up space, either. A couple of the claw weapons are dropped in as well. Inferior quality doesn't mean they can't be studied and learned from. At the very least, they're trophies.

"A few ran ou--" Mantigora stops in her response as she steps out, only to see Yari's handiwork on the escapees. Smirks sharply. "--Nevermind, I see my sister-in-arms took care of that loose lend."

Looks like the main Pagoda is the only place left to go.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
That's all the pushing Sanary really needs. No alternative entrances? Guards actually paying attention to their posts? Well, then.

No sense wasting time. Approaching those guards with the baskets still balanced on that pole, Sanary raises her hands and starts shouting in her approach while waving and pointing at the roof. "Hey! Hey! There's someone on the roof!" She never actually slows down as she runs at those guards, though, fully intending to just throw the pole and two baskets full of stolen gear at the guard on her right.

Maybe it's not the most subtle apporach, but... Whatever. After throwing those baskets, she'll bring up that hatchet to start chopping at the guard on the left! the gunaxe remains strapped to the inside of her tunic for now, putting a rather odd bulge on her side.

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Those strange guards utter lack of reaction might be the telling aspect, as that basket slams into one guard and knocking him prone. No sounds, just a small thud. The other guard is cut asunder, with every heavy hack from Sanary adding another piece. But there's no blood at all.

The two corpses billow out in a cloud of smoke that rolls through the village. Heavy magic flows through the air, and then everything is a sea of fog for all three. Where the Pagoda should be, the fog clears, revealing a clear lake.

A giant bearded man with a staff floats upon the lake, wearing the clan colors. He sighs sadly, as the now full moon above shines.

"So the prophecy was true. Our end has finally come. My name is Genji Ayame, head of the Ayame clan. And now I am the last of us. You have won, Outsiders. I am old, and I will die soon regardless of your slaughter tonight. But I will avenge my clan! Behold!"

He stands tall, and the moon shines, four images of him flowing into the being from pure moonlight. The massive man's body fills with flowing moonlight, dripping off his hands.

"You will die by our clan's ultimate technique! I'll drag you all down to hell!"

Two of the massive ninja-priest's images come for Sanary, one leaping forward with unnatural speed. Another swings his staff low to try to sweep out Sanary's legs from under her! They're all too solid, too real to be illusions.

One aims his staff at Yari, and vaults at her, the ninja barely ducking away at an overhand strike. Her sword deflects two blows, before she's caught in the chest, and sent flying further into the sea of smoke! The two dissappear into the fog, battle cries and hisses mixing.

Mantigora would find the last one suddenly behind her, roaring, as he drops his staff and tries to bear hug the lizard-woman from behind! His strength is enormous, the man easily eight feet tall as he tries to use pure size and muscle to crack bone!

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Still not good enough. They went down too easily. She needs more. Picking up those fallen baskets after her chopping spree, Sanary finally notices that something is incredibly wrong here. All that fog, the disappearing pagoda, the strange giant in the lake...

... Right. This clan /was/ full of illusion masters, wasn't it? She regards him carefully as he speaks, waiting politely until he finishes before sighing in irritation. "Prophecy, shmopefy... Shmoceph... Screw that! Your clan's dead because you messed with the wrong people. You got nobody to blame but yourselves!"

It's a beautiful night, all things considered. All the better timing for what's probably going to be the giant geezer's last battle. Dropping those baskets to the side again, Sanary readies her guanxe and hatchet in each hand, scowling as two of the images come right at her!

Unfortunately for... Someone (herself or the ninja-priest), Sanary's not the type to try and match speed with speed. Instead, she just launches herself right at that first image, fully intending to collide right with him while keeping her legs clear off the ground to avoid that sweep. If she can get in range without that first image getting away, she'll even start trying to smash those axes right into his sides!

Mantigora (583) has posed:
"By Fazaar's flames!" Mantigora practically growls the Draken oath when... it's hard to tell if they've been dispositioned to the new scene or if it was dispositioned to them. Again, which is true isn't really important to the matter.

She's not quite as outsized by the giant figures, but it doesn't stop one from using the same sort of short-range teleport trickery Spellslingers enjoy to get behind her and grab her with the huge arms. "That you still wish to fight, old man, is admirable... not that admiration will save your soul from the pits it shall soon descend." She squirms a bit, but doesn't seem to be getting loose from the crushing grip.

"But two can play at that tactic."

Which would be when her own 'clone' appears, and the hardlight hologram forgos the dopplegangers to lunge straight for the clan leader himself. Thanks to the nano-technology giving it shape and form, it's replica of her battle claws are very real and just as lethal.

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
The big priest has driven himself into a corner while fighting Mantigora it seems! Her image smashes into him, piercing into both of his sides, and from the blood flowing has hit something very vital. He bleeds mortally, but those arms don't let go.

"Heh...heh...my opponents are skilled! But that won't save you!" He concentrates, and fire erupts in his clothing. There's the smell of burning parchment, and if Mantigora doesn't escape, the exploding tags on his body will cause him to explode with her! KABOOM!

"Yes! Our fate was sealed, but we'll see about yours! Ninja enter conflict until they die! It's the same with you and your friends!" Offers the ninja-priest to Sanary with a feral grin.

Sanary leaps off the ground, and slams into him, sending him pitching backwards through sheer surprise and how tucked she is! Both axes slam into his sides similarly to Mantigora's own efforts, and with a crack of bone and sinew, lungs are chewed up from those heavy weapons. This time, the image falls dead, body still remaining. The other image has dropped his staff, making handseals! He'll suck in a breath, and start to spew a massive burst of elemental lightning from his mouth at Sanary's back!

Meanwhile, the dance of priest and ninja continues in the smoke, occasional cries of pain remaining, fireballs and shuriken being traded. From the sounds of things, who might have the upper hand is utterly unclear.

Mantigora (583) has posed:
"Draken fear not death... not that I think you are good enough to send me there."

As fire and heat starts to burn around the image's body Mantigora fires off an amplification spike in her nano-tech, giving her the boost of strength needed to pull her arms free of the flaming bearhug even as the fire starts to burn into her body. Then reach over her shoulders to grab the flaming priest's head, and heave him off her back and over her shoulder.

And throw him at the one breathing lightning at Sanary as he's about to explode. "The only fate you sealed is your own!"

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Sanary takes a little too long crushing and tearing that image apart, digging those blades in as much as she can before ripping them right out with a satisfied shout. By the time she actually turns around towards the remaining image, the healer takes that blast of lightning head on with a pained shout and buckles over from the pain!

"Son of a... Y-you're gonna.. You're gonna have to do better than that!" Practically willing herself into not falling over outright, the cleric grits her teeth as the hold on her weapons tighten. This is the clan that kidnapped Yari that other time. The ones that hurt her so badly. The ones that made Sanary think she had failed Yari.

Remembering all those things only serves to fuel her anger and her rage, and she starts gathering energy into her eye as she stares right at that image, an eerie purple fog hovering in front of her eye as that look of murderous anger lingers on her face. "You can die happy, though... There's still gonna be one of you left." Gathering enough magic power into her eye, Sanary fires a heat laser at the image, triggering an explosion once it's close to the ninja-priest's image! Instead of its usual orangey-red color, however, the explosion is distinctly black and purple, and it's also significantly larger than usual.

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Bones shatter as Mantigora's enhanced strength tears away those arms, and the now limp form of the exploding priest is tossed at the lightning user! His other body lands atop him, exploding, and sending him stumbling forward with a horrific wound upon his back. But he keeps going, unwilling to stop, unwilling to bend as Sanary /takes the blow on the head/.

"You're stronger than you look! You should be dead! Can that anger of yours really fuel y...ARGGHHHHH!"

And then that massive laser bursts into him with that horrible energy of hate and wrath, and as it explodes, half of the man's body is completely turned to dust. The remaining half wobbles, and falls dead. The pure power begins to fade in the area, the smoke becoming lighter. There's the sound of Yari's pained cry, and she goes flying out of the smoke.

Clothes and armor torn, down to a ragged kimono where once she had tactical gear, her face is swollen and she's moving sluggishly. From the looks of things, she's been beaten about hard by the big priest. He comes flying out above her, ready to lay a crush blow to her skull as she lands on the ground!

"DIE....Huh?" Fwipt!

There's an...umbrella in his face? Yari holds it steadily, and the completely absurd act as it unfurls has him hesitating for just enough time. She presses on the end of the umbrella.

BLAM! The man's head is blown off as a twelve gauge shot bursts from the end of the trapped umbrella, and finally, he falls dead. Using it like a cane, she gets up, and the illusion fades. The bodies remain, and they're in the pagoda. There's nothing but a small pond, and on a pedastal, a single scroll.

"Everyone alive?"

A glance around. The place is empty. No more guards, not even alarmed civilians.

Yari walks up, and takes the scroll, unfurling it. Her head tilts, and she smiles.

"...This was worth it for this alone. Mission accomplished. Let's get to that stealth fighter before any civilians come running."

Mantigora (583) has posed:
Mantigora's attention snaps from the dead priests to the cry from Yari... but then the trick umbrella takes care of whatever problem she was having with he foe. "Everyone but them," she eventually answers the question.

She retracts her blades, and walks over to give Sanary a supporting arm. The girl took a blow right to the head, after all. That's pretty tough. "Let's get going then. Nothing left here but a lesson for others to be learning."

Like most lessons when it involves Draken, it's learned through dead bodies being left in their wake. Though this wasn't just her own doing. Yay teamwork!

Sanary Rondel has posed:
With the rage subsiding, Sanary nearly collapses in a heap and only avoids falling right on her face by using the baskets to prop herself up. She did just take a massive shock to the face, after all! Some of that energy does come back when it looks like Yari's in trouble, but her fears are allayed when the source of danger is suddenly beheaded.

"Nn... Y-yeah, looks like. Remind to ask you what's in that thing later." Still somewhat shaky on her feet, the cleric probably isn't thinking straight when she drags those baskets behind her even while taking Mantigora's shoulder for support. She does let go of the baskets eventually, at least, and she starts channelling that energy into careful, steady healing for the three of them now that she isn't ready to kill someone anymore.

"Thanks, Mantigora.. Ah. Yeah, let's get those bruises taken care of. Someone else can pick up the rest."
