- Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Lesson of the Day: Never buy seeds from strange multiversal men in trenchcoats.
Kawakami Academy, and more specifically, it's small greenhouse area has been taken over by the newly minted Botany Club created by one 'Chiyo'. To those of a more factional bent, many would know this Au'Ra as Yari Takane, soldier and assassin. There's a small gaggle of four other students, two young men and two young women, in the local school uniforms. They're all digging holes on their hands and knees, planting some of the seeds Yari's brought. Two more students walk in.
"Heeeeey, Botany Club! Let's give this new serum a try!" Calls out a blue-haired girl in glasses. It's the Science Club. Before even Yari can react, there's an entire pitcher of bubbling green liquid tossed onto these highly suspicious seeds.
Thirty seconds later, the greenhouse roof explodes, vines rip out from it with all six students held in vined plant-limbs, and this horrible three-eyed, razor-jawed creature rises as high as a three story building. The local headmaster is going to be /pissed/.
Yari has barely managed to cut herself down with a sharpened gardening spade, but with so many limbs flailing at her, she can't effectively attack the giant monster! She calls out both over local radios and over the multiversal one. Kawakami Academy needs help!
- Lute (188) has posed:
Lute, normally, would not really have much reason to respond to an accident at a school. Really, why would he? Sure, it could get him some cred, but generally, there is just not enough reason to gain from this. But, when he heard the call for help, and got hints that Yari was involved in this incident? Lute had to respond.
...Besides, it has been a /long time/ since Lute has flirted with schoolgirls, and acts of heroics like this are a great way to show up.
Lute appears on scene, and in /style/. He has decided against bringing Mr. Crabs along today. Instead, he is riding onto the scene on an adorable little monstrous ghost ship risen from the angers of war, the I-Class Destroyer, Imima. He surfs upon its back, his labcoat flowing behind him dramatically. A santa hat rests upon his head, and his arms cross in front of him. Flying along with him, high in the sky, is an array of Unown placed about to spy down on the situation.
He instantly regrets not bringing Mr. Crabs, upon seeing the giant plant monster. He stares a little at the three story tall plant monster, frowning at the side of his mouth.
He pauses for a moment, and smiles. He reaches into his pocket. As a Pokemon Trainer, he always is prepared. Pokemon are often animals who eat plants and meat. But, some of them are a bit unusual, and have other favorite foods.
"HEY! GIANT PLANT MONSTER! I've got some Miracle-Gro (TM) for you!"
Lute holds up a pod of Miracle-Gro (TM), showing it to the plant monster.
- Kirito has posed:
"Wh-... what in the... this... this is some kind of joke!" Exclaims a black-clad human-sized fairy boy swooping through the air at great speeds. KIRITO had just left the Warp gate and taken to the skies... and it didn't take him long to see the source of the trouble.
The young man's just STARING. GAPING.
He's seen plant monsters plenty of times before. Slain hundreds of them. Maybe thousands! He's lost count.
NONE OF THEM WERE THREE STORIES TALL.
A part of him winces. "Good thing Silica's not here..." She's just never had any good luck with plant monsters. They're her bane!
He arrives just in time to see Lute's... crazy plot. The Spriggan's shoulders sag and hands desperately clutch empty air at his sides. He leans forward, only able to look on in amazed horror. Oh heavens. WHAT is Lute thinking?
"That guy, he's always making trouble!"
Yet... Kirito chides himself, Lute might have a point. It is a REALLY BIG PLANT THING. ... But maybe, just maybe, it isn't atually HOSTILE. Maybe it's just a plant thing.
- Princess Peach (904) has posed:
Peach heard the call and since she happened to be in the area, she came running, or rather, riding on the back of her trusty Yoshi, figuring it's appetite might come in handy in this particular situation. Once she gets close however, she sees just how out of hand the situation has become with the plant.
She arrives just in time to hear Lute offering it something he's calling Miracle-Grow. Her eyes bulge in surprise at what she hears and calls out to him. "Are you insane? I think the building size plant monster is large enough as it is. Do we really want to give it powerful fertilizer?" Peach calls out, but otherwise she hangs back for the moment, not sure how she wants to approach this giant plant.
- Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe is a bit after Kirito in arriivng as she seeps in after her long time friend. She halts, she stares at the thing beofre he she looks to Kirito for a moment for a moment then looks back to Kirito.
"This is new and yes he always is come on let's get going on this. She's cautious and is going to let Lute make his attempt to reason with the thing.
- Yari Takane (691) has posed:
The plant might not be particularly intelligent, but it knows food when it smells it! The being shuffles forward towards the pokemon trainer. The sight of the man has Yari sighing in relief.
"Logan! ...You do know how to handle situations like this, yes?" Squint! He /is/ a beast tamer. Surely this is a good idea!
Two of the six school kids are dropped in favor of that Miracle-Gro! It just sounds so /delicious/ to the creature! Could Kirito's thoughts be correct!?
That doesn't stop vines from lashing out on instinct at the flying man as the slow thing gets nearer!
Peach's words further have Yari looking to Lute. Two of them /did/ get dropped! But there's still a massive creature to be dealt with. Vines lash out, and Yari offers a few shuriken that slice at them, falling back! As much as the creature's attracted to Lute's offering, it's still a danger in and of itself!
- Lute (188) has posed:
Lute holds up the Miracle-Gro, his I-Class Destroyer moving back a little bit. He's trying to lure the creature towards him, just slightly. He smiles, looking towards the creature. A glance is given to Peach. An annoyed glance. He, honestly, has /nothing/ against her, personally. Instead, something else makes him dislike this princess. He has heard of her from Sarracenia. And, Princess Peach is someone who Sarracenia hates. But, still, he must keep focus. He must distract this creature. And possibly tame it.
"Alright, Viney! Let's have some food! I've got more of this! More! Here!" He throws it forward, straight towards the creature, with all of the skill of a trained Pokemon Trainer.
He'll assume someone else will take care of saving the dropped students.
- Kirito has posed:
"WHOAH!" Kirito thankfully is still a distance away and a random plant flailing isn't... exactly hard to see coming. It goes in a straight line. So he just swerves sideways with a gust from his wings. But a hand goes up to his weaopn in the same moment. He draws a black longsword in a smooth motion, grunts out, "Being just a plant thing is actually bad." He decides. What can be done?
"Oi! Aren't you paying attention?!" He yells at Lute.... as that evasion transitions into a dive! Full power to his wings takes Kirito swooping under one of the dropped students. He easily scoops them up and goes zooming for the other.
If nobody else grabs them he can at least try to slow their fall in some clumsy fashion and bring them down more or less harmlessly to the ground.
- Princess Peach (904) has posed:
Peach catches Lute's glare and wonders if she struck a nerve, but still blinks in shock as he tosses the fertalizer at the plant monster, hoping he knows what he's doing. For now there are other things to worry about, and Peach urges her Yoshi onward, rushing under the behemoth of a plant to help Kirito catch the children, pulling out a large parisol and skillfully using it to bounce them softly to the ground. "Don't suppose anyone brought industrial weed killer?" She asks as she glances to Yari.
- Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Kirito and Princess Peach manage to catch the falling students! The thrown Miracle-Gro has the plant-monster looking elsewhere, and so Yari chucks four razor-sharp shuriken at the vines holding the last few students. They fall into the wings-slash-parosols of Peach and Kirito, unconscious and clearly drained of energy to fuel the creature.
A glance to Lute, an then back to the creature. A shake of her head. It's far, far too dangerous, at least in her estimation.
"Hold your breath!" Yari calls out, and then chucks a good six cloth-bound balls!
It might not specifically be a plant-killer, but Yari's chucked poison has the creature starting to wilt. Sorry Lute, the assassin has clearly slated this one for death!
It writhes and lashes out, Yari smacked right in the chest, and sent flying across the ground! Cough, hack!
"Kill it!" She offers to the others!
- Lute (188) has posed:
Lute frowns a little, shrugging at Kirito. He says nothing, but really, he has no reason to justify himself to the Union. He figured they could save the falling students. Instead, he just shrugs a little, arms crossing.
But, Yari has shown the intent to kill. He shrugs a little. In some cases, he could warrant trying to tame the creature. With his ally fighting it, though? No chance. He looks down towards Imima, shaking ihs head. "...Yeah. This one won't be joining us. Anyways. FIRE!"
Imima opens its mouth, the cannon within being revealed. The monstrosity of steal fires a cannon shell forward, straight for the center mass of the gigantic plant creature. Lute flips his hair back a little, posing somewhat dramatically.
His eyes, otherwise, focus on Peach. He's trying to consider various ways he could insult her. But, the Truce is up. Would that be a truce violation? Eh. Maybe he could do it more subtly.
"Hey, that pink dress is a terrible color on you. You should go for something in a lime green instead. I mean, like, Pink is a color that makes enemies more likely to try and kidnap you."
- Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe is looking at the plant and watching it going after Lute and the miracle grow he's got. It seems seems to be that Lute's plan is working and thankfully for them as the kids are dropped by the thing. She wonders about Kiritos own planns but she's now looking for ways to help she ses that he's luring the people away so she's going to go agter the falling people. She goes for one of the droppe students as well trying to catch whom she can.
- Kirito has posed:
BOOOOING!
Whatever wonder-tricks Peach used there, it was just what Kirito needed to get both people to the ground without a rough landing. "Phew.. nice save, dear princess!" He's just high-spirited enough by this turn of events to return to his more fun and friendly mood. ... Also a little silly.
But only for a moment.
Once people are safely on the ground...
Whirling around midair and unsheathing his black blade in one smooth motion an instant lter, he faces the plant... flying up towards its head.
Once he reaches a nice height and range... "Sorry. We can't have man-eating plants anywhere people wander! This mess ends now." OWARI DA!
The black blade IGNITES thickly with crimson light and FLAMES. And just like that, Kirito's whole body moves like a bullet inwards. It's a strangely powerful motion that puts his whole body's weight and power into a series of rapid deep slashes that draw a flaming five point star in the air and then thrusts straight through it, making it ALL explode into raging flames!
"One Handed Sword Skill - STAR QUINT PROMINENCE!"
- Princess Peach (904) has posed:
Peach quickly covers her mouth and holds her breath when she hears Yari yell in warning. She smiles and gives Tomoe a nod as she helps catch the remaining children. Now that the children are saved, she backs away, getting some distance between herself and the wilting terror of a plant. Lute's remark toward her gets the attention of the princess however.
"Lime green? I think I will respectfully disagree. That would clash horribly with my eye and hair color. But perhaps the next time I see Rarity, I'll ask what she thinks of the idea. As for making kidnappings more likely, do you have any proof of this, other than me? I mean, there could be several other reasons I've been kidnapped frequently other than my choice of outfit color. Finally, she turns to watch Kirito battle with the plant beast, and gives a cheer to urge him on.
- Yari Takane (691) has posed:
With a dramatic hairflip, Lute orders his compatriot to fire! The massive shell slams into the creature, forcing it back upon it's hind-roots, leaving it utterly vulnerable to the attacks of the others!
The remaining falling students are caught by Tomoe and the ohters, landing softly and utterly unconsciously. They'll have an unfortunate day of rest, but they should be okay from now on!
Particularly thanks to the Princess' parosol boing-ing them into the area. Always helpful that!
Kirito's blade slashes into the alread wilting monstrosity, lighting it rightly on fire. Corrosive poison works with purging flame, limbs sliced asunder and the beast rendered towards retreat!
It's a horrible smell, but ninja and SAO avatar alongside Lute's abilities are more than adequately turning the thing into fertilizer! Yari makes a few handseals, and with one final breath, spits out a fireball that burns alongside Kirito's flames to engulf the thing entirely. With a howl, it burns out entirely.
Yari rubs her head a bit, sighing in relief.
"...Remind me to never do botanical science without supervision. Well done, everyone." She falls onto her tail, utterly exhuasted. A thumbs-up to those who joined her. The day is well saved!
