From Multiverse Crisis MUSH
What is Lost: Space Hulk | |
---|---|
Date of Scene: | 30 September 2016 |
Location: | Transhuman Territory <EP> |
Synopsis: | The team arrives at the station where the exchange for CEO Doyle Sister was but our team runs into something dark. Humans who wish to become something other than Human have dark plans for escaping into the multiverse and Firewall also has taken notice. |
Cast of Characters: | Kotone Yamakawa, 162, 571, Corona Arclite, Staren, 673 |
- Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Transhuman space.
Earth Orbit.
Location Side Three Hermes.
The hab was silent there were no active signals going out, while power remained on it was in low power mode a hab of over a thousand transhumans with physical forms lived here. It was out of the way so to speak. It was silent there were several ships apparently still in the hangers including the still active IFF for the Mary Jay, the ship belonging to the people who had found her sister in the first place. No hails would be responded to as the ship along with several others s well. The hull of the hab is shielded against most local forms of scanning the best one would be able to pick up is life support is still online and there's still some power but otherwise? It's silent.
There are inactive defense sats too that the group would be able to pick up, they are intact, that's the oddest things are? Offline with those Kotone's ship is in the lead and Kotone has finished the process of swapping bodies earlier in the day? Even then her synth is fully suited up Vacsuit and carrying a good bit of gear, her Matter Manipulator was at her hip as she looked to Slipbolt.
Anywhere we can beam down?
Frustation: Hanger Bay's the only clear space to so.
"You remainin on the ship them I'll beam over."
"Kotone here I'm moving beaming over to the stations hanger looks like the clearest place to set down. I'm getting active life support and some power but everything else? Nada."
Kotone would be one of the first to beam over as she appears in a pillar of light in the hanger, emergency lights greet her as she arrives. The Hanger is a mess, cargo crates some blasted open in an apprent fire fight are here. There's no signs of bodies yet but there is blood floating here or splattered on walls, crago crates and there's claw marks on a breached small ship's hatch like something ripped it open. It also looked like it was in the process of being launched. Several displays still function and the words Intruder Alert flash in bright red, both in English, German. Japanese and Arabic .
"Mother Mercy....drones up."
- Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
Zephyr's doing her weird 'Spiderman' thing. Clinging to the side of one ship or another. She's done that quite a bit recently. However, as the search and rescue team approach, she detaches and flits off around the hab station, trailing a purple mana ribbon behind her as she flies. She's got a light vac-suit meshed with her Barrier Jacket, Void helmet and gloves, combined with the sealed, but archaic styled magical armour.
"Windstar here, moving to approach from ventral airlock. Beginning cycling sequence." she reports, linking into the airlock system to depressurize the lock, and open the outer door, before entering and cycling it back the other way so she can step inside.
- Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
Maaka -hates- directs, a lot in fact.
She was smart to bring the shotgun here, and smarter still to bring 3" shipboard rounds, intended to be used safely with nano-pellets that will soften upon impact to solid surfaces. Should prevent penetration of the bulkhead, which would be bad if it did happen.
With the weapon in hand, Maaka follows Kotone loyally as she covers the hangar bay. "Lots of splatter. Signs of struggle." She calmly states, securing the area.
"THere aren't...aliens in this world, are there?" She asks, starting to run through a list of possible subjects.
- Corona Arclite has posed:
Corona Arclite's 'space train' ship pulls into holding an orbit just within range of teleporters to the hab. While SAIL gets the ship into position Corona goes over her gear once last time, makes sure the vacsuit is operating properly, and so forth. Once they've got a landing point from Kotone she hops on the teleport pad and disappers in a flash of energy.
Moments later she appears in the same energy flash with Kotone and Alexis. Of note, yes she's wearing a vacsuit... and then wearing her tool/weapon belts over it. And a poncho. A SPACE poncho... though one would be hard pressed to really find a difference in it from any other poncho. Maybe she found it lying around the ship. It is a Novakid spacecraft, after all.
"Looks like someone's already had a welcome party." The spacefox murmurs. Even as she flicks open her analyzer and trots over to inspect those gouges in that one hatchway. "Or some-thing-..."
- Staren has posed:
Staren <"A /thousand/ people lived here and it's completely dark?"> Staren replies. He uses his own ship's teleporter to link to Kotone's ship, and then beams down after her. He's in his armor as usual. <"I can't think of any... less than terrible reason for /that/ to happen. If the radio broke, they should have been able to make a new one... These ships are still transmitting IFF. Hmm..."> he scans to see if any of the ships has an external wireless access point. <"Slipbolt, do scans show any sign of the station's reactor or other powerful electronics still active?">
- Rory White (673) has posed:
Rory White's chosen to take her Flexbot, which is oddly against her own advice of needing a Vacsuit. Reason being, the Flexbot's her primary full-power combat Morph, and a Vacsuit would utterly defeat its main advantages.
She beams down into the hangar bay from the Odyssey near Kotone, visible as a silvery humanoid with a face embedded in solid shoulders... this form doesnt really have a 'head' but it's covered in optical sensors and built much like a Gorilla apart from the weird head. Long arms with a powerful grasp, two short legs. Unlike a Gorilla, two extra limbs sprout from her sides, long and thin and ending in a three-claw arrangement with one opposable. They're clearly used for manueverability and possibly a backup weapon. But speaking of weapons, it seems to have weapons hardwired directly into the arms.
As usual, Rory's keen on experimenting with different, slightly eerie forms when shes in that thing...
And one of the first thing she does is zoom in on the distant ship and examine the claw mark patterns...
"Something had enough brute strength to RIP OPEN AN AIRLOCK DOOR?!"
She's now very glad that she's keeping her PAN well-locked down. But still, she hunts around the hangars for an actual data jack or a terminal. They're rare in habs given the ubiquitous Mesh Inserts, but there's usually A FEW to work with...
And she has an Ecto with its wireless physically disabled to plug in and try investigating the network...
- Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone pauses "Rory mentioned something about aliens once I think. You'd have to ask her I know they found dead Ailen species."
She looks about somewhat thankful now she doesn't have organic systems right now. It helps to keep the panic down. Yet she still finds her self taking a deep breath as she cradles her her rifle.
"I really don't like this at all, fan out check the ship that belonged to the mercs who found the CEO's sister. I'll start searching the bay. Can someone check the ship?"
<<Calm: Primary Reactor is online but in low output mode. It seems mostly basic systems are online but the shielding is heavy. I do not know how they did such but they may active systems within.>>
Staren would find the mercs ship still has wireless systems, it seems though the ship is off line for the most part. He could be able to get into the systems their secuiry is pretty decent by the local standards and may even be old milspec. So they were not idiots from the look of it. Though Staren might be able to get into it's scrutiny feeds however or even check to see if the package is still on board.
Rory would get into the networks and discover that the system seems to be mostly locked down. The warnings still going odd but she might be able to get into some lower priority systems if she works on it. Also there seems to be a file.
Log: The plan's gone south, the airlock got opened like it was a damn old earth beer can. Got Trevor and Melissa I'm up too bad now damn it. Shit, got to get moving it's coming. If anyone's lose you know the meeting point.
It's dated about a month or so ago too.
Zephyr wild be find another way in the lock works as she overrides and is able to cycle her way inside. There's a view port she can see signs of a running fire fight and then she sees a form slumped near the airlock, it's humanoid hard to make out and it's head turns to look at her, it makes no hostile action and it seems to be trying to mouth the words. Help...
- Staren has posed:
<"It could also be that they found... something on the surface, or perhaps more likely, a creature from the Multiverse. One of these ships or the station /must/ have security recordings... and that still doesn't explain why news of a monster attack didn't make it off the station before they went dark... Oh hey, this ship's open. Rory, can you crack the security?">
- Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
"Scouting now." Maaka approaches the ship itself slowly, shotgun trained upon the entrance as she silently motions for someone to get the vessel open. Her shotgun is trained upon the doorway itself, and she stands ready to enter.
Kaz meanwhile, from within Kotone's vessel, handles cyber security with Slipbolt. He does his best to do a perimeter scan of the hangar bay, hoping nothing's hiding in plain sight to gnaw on people's faces right this moment. "I got a bad feeling about this, guys. Heads on a swivel." He murmurs over comms, his hands already jumpy from the sheer nervousness he feels right now.
- Corona Arclite has posed:
Seeing those claw marks on a ripped open airlock is enough for Corona to decide it's not time to putz around. She shifts to keep the C-Pad in one hand, and draws a weapon with the other as she slinks back to exploring with the others.
A large handgun might not look like much in comparison to her companions toting shotguns and whatnot. Then again, it's more accurate. Especially when you realize its the Starslinger. Homing physics defying lasers are better at not accidentally shooting something she doesn't want to shoot.
"This place is already makin' my tail fur stand on end."
- Rory White (673) has posed:
<"On it, Staren."> Is Rory's reply over the Mesh. Once she's established that the Ecto is not being attacked by any kind of worm, Rory connects over Wifi to the Ecto - but only browsing controls. It's only slightly riskier than before, but lets her rapidly deploy her tools and sift through data feeds. She's attempting to pinpoint the origin of the lockdown directive, obtain basic privileges for the hab security cameras - it's rare to find those BLOCKED from the view of anyone and everyone in most habs... - and, if that fails, start working on getting admin privileges through various methods...
- Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
Zephyr brings her shorter axe to bare as she spots the running firefight through the viewport. The Bits surrounding her fan out defensively, but then Divine Wind chimes. <Master!> Zephyr turns to look, her AR system highlighting the wounded being. "Windstar here, got a running firefight on my deck, also got a hurt... something. Doesn't look exactly human."
She gets Divine Wind to take a picture and upload when asked to clarify, before kneeling nearby. "Can you speak? What happened here? Help's on the way, but I'm not a Medical Mage."
- Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone is glad Maaka is near by, she's very glad to be honest she's not alone. This isn't the sort of place she'd want to linger alone here that's for sure she heads to the merc's ship's And she's got a small ecto out to try and get into it's systems. With Kaz and Slipbolt meanwhile have a task before them. They pick up several more signs that someone busted out an energy weapon looks like a plasma weapon was used telling the fight in the hanger bay. That should be fairly telling in and of itself.
Corona meanwhile is getting to work and she's able to good look, the airlock was ripped off and therr's clearly claw marks. Meanwhile Kotone is moving to pop the door and it hisses open with a hiss. Kotone gets a light on and moves in to find what seems to be a makeshift barricade an the corpse of a human made who has his torso ripped out, and what seems to be some sort of human primate is cut in the middle, their heads appear to be intact so their stacks may be so.
"MAAKA! I GOT BODIES!"
Staren would also be able to find out yes the pod still seems to be in the ship and it has power, the problem is there is something going on here and does he want to just get the pod and leave everything behind?
The Remade looks in confusion at Zephyr for a moment and raps.
"EXhumans, been tracking them for months, thought we'd cornered em here. Some of my kill Team's still ... alive. Wait ... behind"
He attempts to raise a pistol and fire but he's slow something comes barreling own the hallway it was humanoid once but it looks very alien, long limbs, tentacles and it basically trying to grab Zephyr. It laughs and from several mouths as it attempts to pounce Zephyr and it seems gleeful it's not mindless. The wounded Remade attempts to shoot the thing and gets knocked across the hall for his trouble.
- Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
As Maaka storms into the shop, she sweeps the interior of the vessel with her shotgun alertly. Every corner is given a once over and a half, just to be absolutely sure. She narrows her eyes as she inspects the bodies, kneeling before one of them as she slings her weapon and draws her progressive-knife.
"Where do the stacks usually sit in these bodies?" She asks Rory over comm, trailing her knife around the corpse's spinal area while she waits for direction.
- Corona Arclite has posed:
Well Kotone and Alexis know better what's involved in collecting the stacks and what not, so Corona just remains at guard at the airlock, gun in one hand and scanning device in the other. Just in case. As much as she hates 'just in case' scenerios.
"Ah dunno if Ah'd trust such sensative life maintainin' equipment to a teleporter, Staren," she remarks back over the comm. "Ah mean, then why didn't they just do that themselves? We might hafta dock one of the ships and move it man'ally."
She's lost to all this transhuman levels above the tech she's familiar with stuff, and there's nothing needing to be blown up, so no surprise the engineer latchs onto the potential logistics issue to consider instead.
- Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
Zephyr blinks, "EXhumans...?" she asks, then turns as the pistol is raised, the same moment Divine Wind chimes in alarm. <MASTER!> "Falka N'iestru! What is that thing!?" she cries, bringing Divine Wind up defensively. Claws meet transluscent barriers, tentacles intercepted with blasts of magic... but the Mage is sorely overmatched in close combat. Rips appear in her armour, blood seeps into the fabric, staining it a mucky ochre, and then she sets her footing. "Wind Control, Void Shift!"
The air in the corridor all rushes into a single point, between Zephyr and the EXhuman monster. The sudden void behind it hopefully knocking it off balance enough that the sudden BLAST of all that compressed gas can get her some clearance.
- Rory White (673) has posed:
Rory's making tremendous progress for getting herself wired into the station's systems! As soon as she has admin access this battle will be blown wide open, she hopes... because having full access to all of the cameras will be BEYOND useful!
"So the Exhuman group arrived for unknown reasons and stirred up trouble, this group pursued them and recently arrived... I don't imagine that it's RELATED to the Cryopod but..." But could it be?
Since information is all she can work with right now, Rory quickly works on learning more about what the people working with the pod were up to and how it got where it now is, to make sure nothing funny's been happening!
- Staren has posed:
Exhumans are loose on the ship. Great. "Urgh..." Staren rubs his helmet. <"If you're really sure, but... There's only so much I can do. Can we have Slipbolt bring the ship in close so I can push this to the hangar? Or... maybe we can just steal this ship..."> Now that Rory's confirmed there's no monsters still hiding onboard... He crawls through the broken airlock, seeing if he can make his way further into the ship.
- Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone grimaced but at least with the stacks the victims here might have another go at it. Regardless of the augments they have. if it's really them or not it doesn't matter. People are people in the end right? She looks at Corona with a sympathetic look on her face. The nature of Transhuman tech and society does get to her too and she is basically one more or less too.
"This gets to me Corona, the world just keeps getting more complicated it seems and it may get a bit beyond me to handle."
Meanwhile with Zephyr and the Remade? Thing are getting nuts, he's not dead but he's out of it, his shot did distract the EXhuman for a moment and then it stares what the hell is this? This sort of power has only been to be held by, Exsurgants. The wind slams into the thing ending it flying down the hall. The remade is trying to move a bit and get clear line of fire. He also sends a signal likely to his team.
"Anyone who isn't staying behind should go help Zephyr now. R
With that Kotone is going to depart the ship they can collect stacks later, with Staren hopefully handling the cryopod? Kotone's going to be taking off like a shot following the signal Zephyr has on her.
Meanwhile the thing pause and turns to pull out oddly, that's strange isn't it? The Spec ops troope slowly tries to get up.
There's more than one, it's going for backup, their nest is at the reactor core of the station. My team's making for it, One Primate Morph, two Furies and a Octo make up the rest of my team. I signaled them to make you as friendly.
The pod is old very old it actually so old it predates the development of stacks. This could explain a lot but the pod is intact.
<<Slipbolt you heard him, get the Bluenose in close and do the pickup keep tabs on the weapon sats on the event they come online.>>
<<Calm: Aye eye>>
R With that The Bluenose is moving while the remade looks to Zephyr again and says "I'll follow you but do not wait up for me."
<<Corona so how do you feel about monster hunting. Maaka lets go!>>
The Remade will give the party the map he has of the hab and the quickest route to the reactor where the EXHumans are.
- Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
While Kotone is disgusted, Maaka just motions the girl to turn her head away. "Don't look." She warns, before she digs out one more stack from the bodies of the dead. She does so robotically, with almost sociopathic calm. Whoever these people were, all that matters of them is their cortical stacks. Just like extracting a DNC from someone back home.
Of course, Maaka doesn't have the luxury of interchangeable bodies unlike these people. Hers is one of a kind, so to speak.
She pockets the stacks to ensure their safety, before she grabs her shotgun and nods to Kotone. <On your back.>
She follows the map the Remade sends everyone, shotgun at the ready as she remains at Kotone's back, protecting her.
- Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
It's running... good, that'll give her some breathing room.
Zephyr half collapses to a knee, panting hard and wincing at a twinge in her chest. <Linker Core Stability declining. Attempting correction.> The mage jolts and bites down a cry of pain. <Corrected. Linker Core integrity at 89% and holding.>
"Okay buddy... I've got others on the way, let your guys know they're friendly too... we came to find out what happened to a group of mercenaries and why the Hab went dark. If we can find that out while clearing this 'nest', all the better." says the mage over to the Remade. Two battered warriors down but not quite out.
- Corona Arclite has posed:
In response to Kotone the foxgirl gives her fancy handgun a gunslinger's twirl. <<Now yer talkin' more my speed.>> Though the mention of nests makes her reconsider, and she holsters the blaster. To pull out her trademark plasma shotgun instead. Nests mean possibly lots of ugly things wanting to chew your face off, any frontier folk knows that.
That, and hearing Zephyr's previous description of the thing? Yeah, time to take off the careful gloves.
Corona one-hand cocks the action on the Forgesweeper to start it charging up, gives it a twirl to grip it properly, and takes off after Kotone and Maaka.
- Staren has posed:
Staren checks that the crypod is secured, then makes his way to the cockpit, trying to turn things on and instruct the ship to fly out of there...
- Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Rory would also be able to get more data as she digs this would be harder than the rest but she's able to get past the security on it. She'll get feeds of carnage all over the station, here and there some natives are being held in cages of various sort,s who who knows what sort of grim things the EXhumans have in mind. She will also find troubling things listing of parts in the stations database enough parts that with the right know how? One could make an artfical warpgate. The EXhumans plan might have been to use this as a jumping point to escape into the multiverse.
As for the pod? It seems to be legit, from what the recovery crew found there was a foulup in labling and shipping for the old cryobank a veyr long time ago that's how it ended up in the cheap orbital ones rather than than on earth. A Mercy that seem to be in order. The merc crew were legit mercs from the looks of it, one an EX Australian Soldier, another a former Russian Intel operative, and a pair of uplifts a pig and an Raven. Nothing seems any shadier than what the people Rory hangs out with do.
- Staren has posed:
Staren passes the crew manifest to the tacnet so the others will know if they come across the crew. <"Pod is secure. I'm gonna try to fly this ship out to meet the Bluenose.">
In the cockpit, he starts turning things on and seeing if the ship AI will accept his commands.
- Rory White (673) has posed:
Rory White doesn't wate energy frowning, but if anyone could sense such things, boy is she exuding a sudden flare of foul mood. The story of what's going on here is starting to make sense to her.... apart from who this special ops team is.
They somehow knew about THIS entire op and kept it all to themselves? Scary people, best observed and not tangled with...
<"Alright. Our mission now is clear. The Exhuman cell must be neutralized. Aid the ops team but watch yourselves. We're going to try to restore order to the hab. Some of the population's survived, being held hostage. If I can re-enable full Mesh access somehow...">
- Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa knows it has to be done, and hey she know they are getting another crack. She will worry about it later for now they got to get moving. Kotone doesn't need to be tld twice to keep moving she's following the map. IT will not take long for Maaka, Corona and her to reach the core, the closer they get however? The more bodies and signs of fighting there are. The EXhumans didn't play nice at all and there's no time to recover the stacks for the moment that may be for clean up later.
The Remade moves he's slower than he'd likebut he listens to Zephry pausing.
"Yes, we saw their ship when we board4ed. It was intact in the hanger when we arrived...your from beyond the gates with powers like that."
Not a question a statement of fact, from her powers and he moves forward.
"I'm not at liberty to say much but I can tell you were were hunting these EXHUMANs to capture or terminate them before they pressed on. They seem to think transhumans, uplifts, flats and anything else are their prey. Lost all their common sense too going like some old Movie monsters."
A joke or something intended to be humorous. They should be able to make it to the core, but they will likely be second wave backup.
Staren is able to get the ship moving it's shaky it's damaged but it will move and they can get it off the station, it might be a bit hard going but with Staren's long history of piloting he will be able to pull it off even if it's a bit touch and go. The ship creaks and a few alarms go off due to the damaged airlock but he will be able to override them.
The pary would find their way to the core but it would get worse and worse as they went in deeper, bodies, more signs of fighting and Rory would be finding something very worry some I the colony files. When the party arrives in the Core they would find three EXHumans all wildly different but all clearly inhuman and they are fighting the rest of the Remade's team. One of them is down and looking pretty bad, the octo morph has latched themselves on to the head of one and is flailing wildly while the furies seem to be pinned down by some sort of drone a reaper that's clearly been modded for colony invasions they really could use some help. With the EXHumans fighting all that would be left is any automated systems they might have left in place if Rory's going to act? She's going to have no better time to.
Also there seems to be a partially made warpgate in here, Rory was right on the money.
- Staren has posed:
Staren's not used to flying anything but his fighter -- But this is a relatively simple flight: Get out of hangar, get close to bluenose. He can manage that with maybe a bit of banging against the hangar interior. "Oops." He flies as close to the Bluenose as he dares -- which isn't very. <"Slipbolt, can you have SAIL position the airlock just across from this ship's? I'm going to transfer the cryopod.">
- Corona Arclite has posed:
A lot of bodies dead and stewn about doesn't bother Corona. The vile and vicious ways they've been bloodied up, if not outright reduced to splattering ludicrous gibs across the walls, that does make her fur bristle all the more. There's a difference between blowing someone's guts out to end a fight, and doing so just to be as cruel as possible. "Ain't never seen a shootout end up as badly as this looks," she chuffs sourly.
Though the sight is nothing compared to what they come upon in the actual reactor room. Alexis' words are putting it lightly. This would be about the time for someone to make a foolish charge into battle with guns blazing and lungs screaming.
Fortunately, no one in the group is named Leroy Jenkins.
No doubt Corona enjoys her guns blazing but she at least has a bit more sense of tactics than that, especially when it comes to less ordinary methods. That, and have to be sure to avoid any potential friendly fire issues.
Which would be why as they emerge into the room, the fox has activated her gravboots and uses them to trudge up one of the walls instead of charging straight into the fight. A few steps is all it takes to give her an angle for line of sight clear over her allies and line up on the enemy.... freaks. That's about all she's got to describe them. Freaks.
"Ah'd say we're 'bout to mess y'all up, but Ah'll be honest. Ya can't get much uglier than y'all are as is." Witty commentary made, Corona shushes up. And lets Forgesweeper do the rest of the talking for her as a pull of the trigger sends a bolt of green-blue plasma surging towards the Exhuman in her sights.
- Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
Zephyr comes into the reactor room, across from Maaka and Corona. She quickly surveys the scene, targets lighting up in her AR sight. <Multiple targets acquired, precision guided spells ready.> chimes Divine Wind. "Good, lets get to work." She slips through the doorway, into some cover, and deploys her Bits into a triangular formation around her. <Mistral Storm, Tri-shot Formation.> chimes the Device, before she locks onto the EXHumans. <Mistral Shooter, Jetstream Shift.> The Bits, and the head of the axe, glow purple, before spitting out multiple small 'homing missiles' of magical plasma that lock onto, and track the EXHumans. These are NON-LETHAL attacks, but hurt like hell and will hopefully distract the EXHumans long enough for the others to confirm kills.
- Rory White (673) has posed:
The fact of the matter is, the moment Rory establishes admin authority - with currently nothing but security AIs to contend with keeping her from it - things are bound to get a bit better for the gang.
Things get NOISY where the fight's still going on. Drones that had been, up 'til now, completely inactive and inert have come to life and begun to converge. Small robots no bigger than squirrels emerge from vents, normally used to conduct repairs and patrol for oddities, they have some sharp tools that will NOT feel comfortable when JAMMED INTO BODIES.
An Automech used for janitorial duties in the main passageways throws itself at one of the Exhumans, aiming to give their opponent an opportunity!
The Creepies alone are horrible annoyances. Lethal, not so much, but fights are fragile things where just getting a horrible pain in your foot at the wrong moment can create a fatal opening...
- Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
Maaka checks her corners as she goes along with the others, heading to the core with prompt speed before she shakes her head at the Remade. "You sure you're in fighting shape?" She asks, before she heads directly into the core itself.
Bodies everywhere are enough to get Maaka tense, and she tightens her grip on the shotgun just in time to see the EXHUMANS and the Remade going up against each other.
"...this is definitely fucked." She mutters sourly, before she immediately goes for the guy the octo morph is engaging, taking aim with her shotgun and firing twice. Her weapon's muzzle has an adjustable choke, tightening spread and increasing accuracy. It should hit the EXHUMAN without injuring the Morph itself.
- Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Staren's successful in getting out but the ship's not going to be going anywhere too far from the station. For getting the pod off? That they can do and Slipbolt replies over the comm.
<<Focused: Hanger ready, keep it quick it shouldn't be open for long. Sail is carrying out the order now>>
With that the Bluenose starts to maneuver to be able to get the pod and it's airlock to get the pod.
Kotone is bursting in and opening fire with the blaster pistols, hopefully they wouldn't breach the hull like the manual for the old weapons said they were safe for. Though that was ships from another world it's too later now the green bolts fly impacting with one of the EXHumans just as Corona goes in to do her thing. Some of the EXHumans look like they'd be at home with the thing the mole men worshiped. Tentacles claws, way too many mouths, seriously these EXhumans were fucked up as the name for them was. One snarls at at her and attempt to spit some sort of acid moving to try and evade the blaster fire from Kotone, which gets it firmly caught in the plasma blast that sizzles and burns through it's chest and it lets out a wail of terror as it starts to collapse. Kotone would fire several more shots into it and it would finally go skill.
The Octomorph if it had a human face would be grinning very widely at the unexpected backup. Zephyr too is able to do a good deal of distracting it for Maaka to get one hell of hit with the shotgun and does some serious damage the buck shot tears into it. While the Remake comments.
"The mission comes first."
HE notes and fires several shots into the EXHuman, the rounds? Seem to cause the flesh to catch fire once they impact and the octomorph leaps away not wanting to get near that shit. While Corona is also opening fire she'll deal with the one that's pinning down the Furies who counter attack with the distraction then comes Zephyr's well timed shots, while non lethal it lets the furies and Corona lay in more fire but this one's tough it's really tough it seems this one was ready for some serious beatings. Rory's actions however with all the various drones makes a perfect opening for Corona to finish the beast off by taking it's head right the hell out and it drops to the ground a mess of bloody bits and damaged drones.
One of the Furies goes to help to help the downed primate uplift while the other comments.
"Three, that's all of them. Sick bastards, world's better off."
"Get the stacks."
The octomorph brings up a comm line.
<<Ha good timing and shooting there... actually wait where can I get guns like those>>
The Remade sighs
"Not now, we need to get the stacks. Now on behalf of my comrades and I thank you. I need to ask that you forget ... we were ever here and allow us to purge any records of our being on the station. Your free to take full credit...if there are no objections?"
Over a private line one of the furies asks <<This is a risk! You know it!>> <<Our proxie said we could trust them. They have contained Xthreats on their own.>> <<Right, if it goes bad its on your.>> <<I know, our Proxie has never bullshitted us.>>
With the matter settled the Remade seems to be holding several wounds now he could push himself hard.
"Damn thing too if they had escaped into the warpgate network...it could have comeback to haunt the system."
- Staren has posed:
Staren gets the ship to hold steady relative to the station, then leaves the cockpit to unsecure the pod and move it towards the destroyed airlock. Once the Bluenose is lined up, he pushes it out and costs through the void to the Bluenose's airlock. Once it's through, he helps move it out of the airlock, tells Slipbolt to secure it, then heads for the teleporter... And then news comes that the Exhumans are down, so maybe there isn't more to do.
<"Anything more for us to do here, or do we just go back to Mitre and tell them to send a retrieval and medical crew?"
- Corona Arclite has posed:
"Ah don't even wanna -think- of what one of those woulda been able to do iffen that warpgate lead somewhere populated," Corona snarls softly, her voice coming from somewhere overhead. At least and the *thup thup thup* of her gravitized steps bring her back down closer to the floor and back into normal view. It's a good thing she had a lot of backup, because she can't really dodge very quickly with these boots active.
Once she does finally step onto the floor and disengage the gravboots she... realizes she didn't put her hat on ontop of the vacsuit, so she can't give the usual hat tip she would. Dammit. She has to settle for just blowing some of the cooling vapors off the barrels of her weapon. "We gut what we came for, and put a stop to these freaks becomin' free range. Ah'd say that's 'nuff for us. No need to tattle on anyone else, rawht?"
- Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
CACHUNK. Maaka ejects a spent shell from her 12 gauge, before clacking her weapon to a plate on her armor's back, letting it hang securely. "Yeah, job well done far as I'm concerned. You guys alright?" She asks the specops guys, checking them over one by one before she shrugs a shoulder. "You guys were in trouble, we opted to help. In any case, consider yourselves ghosts." She nods to the ReMade. No arguing with the black ops hard cases on this one, she's done similar shit before on a pretty regular basis.
- Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
"Do whatever... I just wanna flop in my bunk and sleep for a week..." replies Zephyr, half collapsing back against a nearby bulkhead, her eyes slipping half closed. Divine Wind chimes, collapses into Standby Mode and clicks into her berth on the right arm bracer of Zephyr's Barrier Jacket.
- Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
The local team are busy tending to eachother's rounds several nanobandages go out and are applied they also move to get the EXHumans stacks clearly they want information out of them.
"The corpses should be disposed of. If this was on a planet I'd suggest burning the remains."
The leadernotes and it looks like they are getting ready to go but one seems to be working with a terminal likely to start the data purge of them being there.
"Indeed we all go away with our jobs done. A op where no one needs to resleeve after is a good op."
Notes the Remade to Corona. Kotone meanwhile goes to pick up Zephyr to carry her back to theship if needed she has no issue with it at all.
<<Right we should send for a medical team and get the previous team as infomorphs at least for the moment. We should also let the people who are still alive out of their cages and get that team on it's way pronto we might have to ferry them.>>
- Rory White (673) has posed:
The Automech that's been helping out has taken a beating, but its wifi still works and apparently so does its speakers. Rory's voice comes across it...
"Since your mission here seems more than noble enough, I'll agree to the secrecy request. Please don't give us a reason to regret it in the future though, is all I ask. Oh. I've established administrative access to the habitat, facilities should be coming back online. Including medical. A drone's bringing nanobandages right now."
Although it'll take a minute or two to arrive...
- Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
The Remade nods once to Rory "Good then we'll be getting off the station then." With that the team will hustle as best they are able to the hanger and have their ship depart. A little later on the ship. "So that's them in person?" "Damn the multiverse is insane." "Look at it this way not all alien life has it in for transhumanity." "You make a good point." "We might yet find a way out of the mess our species is in yet. Lets' get back to the proxy for the AAR and the stacks? We have ... quesitons. We need to track down any allies or people who gave them aid. This shit needs to not happen again."
