- Crash (1089) has posed:
It wasn't their first day in the Paladins, and it wasn't their first day in the multiverse, but this was certainly the first day that Crash had been able to sit down to start researching anything she could in an effort to try and understand the way other governments worked. The way other democracies worked. Anything she could figure out in an effort to -try- and depose Naturia's Prime Minister without having to sucumb to the last resort. It'd be better that he live than have to die.
Currently, the machine is at a table with a number of books and datapads here and there. She was currently going through a volume of American History that was about the founding fathers and the writting of the constitution.
- Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone had been with the Paladins since the day after the Union fell apart due to the grrat collapse it did feel like an act of God really but right now she was on some very well needed down time. She was on leave and just getting a number of things to read. While she liked physical books? Kotone also had several cables coming from the back of her neck as she gfoes wanding past Crash, the woman appears to be Japanese but something more than just the cables out of the back of her neck seem off and she's also wearing osme odd high tech loojking clothing too.
"Learning about off world history? Kinda sad what happened to America on my world..."
- Crash (1089) has posed:
The only initial reaction from Crash is her ears lifting a little. She takes a moment to press the current page down, making sure it'll stay where it is before glancing up to Kotone. Her eyes wander for just a moment, noting the cables, her gaze eventually turning back to meet Kotone's.
"My home, Naturia, runs via democracy but the Prime Minister has slowly been taking more and more power from the Senate. I've been making sure all of his little loop holes work, and unfortunately they do. As a result, I've been looking at other similar governments to see if there's something that can be done to try and combat it," she explains before responding to the other woman's first statement. "What happened?"
- Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa says "There was a global war that started having nuclear weapons deployed. While the war was ended before the world burns America? Fragmented due to poltical stress in the war's aftermath caused by their right wing party. Now some of it's in an alliance with my nation and another ironical old enemy and the rest has become the Empire of America seeking to hang on to power that's steadly fading away."
She pauses at the polical mess of the strange woman's home world. "That's not a bad idea for your home looking at other forms you might also want to check how the UK, and some of it's old colonies set up their own democratic governments. However UI might be a bit too earth centric..."
- Crash (1089) has posed:
"I wasn't really sure where to start, so I'll check on that too, then. As for the weapons you mentioned... I'm not sure what those are? Naturia has missiles and guns, beam weapons, machines like myself, but I'm not familiar with the Nuke.. Lier.. type you mentioned. It sounds awful, though," At this point, the fox-like machine blinks, and then stands. "Again, appreciate the help. You can call me Crash since that's what my dad started calling me after a rather particular lightning strike."
- Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa says "Nuclear weapons? They are a weapon of mass destuction, level a large raidous from the blast abnd posions everything with radation." She drowns a bit and pauses "Humm beam weapons? That's something we never managed and I wasn't sure iwhat you were. Ironically the tech behin the weapon cna be used for power as well. WAit lighting strike?" She pauses there was an old movie on her world that she saw once late night and she just kind of peers as it almost sounds like that.
"The name's Kotone Yamakawa, just call me Kotone! So a Lighting strike? You were ... some kind of drone before?"
- Crash (1089) has posed:
"Radiation.. a weapon that.." Crash's eyes widen. "They were able to use uranium as a -weapon-? ... That's horrible! They've had theories about such weapons on Naturia but.. a world that actually pulled it off? I'm sorry to hear it..."
Kotone earns a smile for the comment about the lightning strike. Most people don't really put two and two together so fast. "That's right, actually. Naturia's had 'Virtual Intelligence' for a while which just simulated sentience but it wasn't really sentience. When I got struck it did something to my memory core's file structure which caused it to retrieve memory similar to a human's mind, through synapses or .. something.." she rubs at her neck. "That's about as much of dad's speech as I can remember. He's a lot more knowledgable about it. I just enjoy the benefits.."
- Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa says "Yes, America did and it ... was the least horrible option for who got it first. America for all it's posturing had more restraint than it's enemies did with weapons like that. Your world is forunate to not know such things." She grins a bit now at the lignting strike for a moment. "Sounds like the andorids on my world, they can act pretty real but they have no ghosts like a human does. Sounds like that strike more or less gave you a soul more or less."
She grins a bit more and tilts her head.
"Given your here you didn't run off scremaing the death of flesh and your creator considers you his child it sounds like, right?"
- Crash (1089) has posed:
"Heh. That's right. Even when I was still a VI, he always saw me that way and actually treated me really well. More like a person than a tool like so many other people did. The way Prime Minister Bradley believes we should be treated, but whatever, he's a jerk anyway.." Crash mutters before slipping back into her seat.
"He's a great man," she comments about her father, "And I hope I can find him someday. He's been missing for a long time. I have a good idea of who has him, but, well, I can't really do anything about it. Not yet, anyway."
- Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa says "If you have an idea I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find him once you have the mens to act right? Though I have to wonder though how I'd be treated where your from. Given the leadership having an attuide like that. So Crash huh? That's well I hope things go as well if an AI ever ends up with a ghost on my world. At least we know what to watch for, there. Some world's don't."
- Crash (1089) has posed:
"Heh. Kinda knew that was comin'," the fox says with a smirk. "See, since the lightning strike gave me my sentience, Naturia doesn't view what I am as an Aritificial Intelligence because man didn't make it. They defined me as a 'Natural Intelligence', and that, they decided, is the same as a human being. As a result, the Senate voted, unanimously I'll add, that I have all the same rights as a human being." Something about the way Crash says all of that has pride to it.
"Depending on who you talk to, you'd probably be fine. If you're human at all, you'd have nothing to worry about. Most C-Machines and people wouldn't have any issue with you. I'd wager even Bradley wouldn't have any major issues. He isn't against cybernetics, just ... well, what I am."
- Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa says "So a NI then? Makes sense honestly, and damn. Sounds like most of the people in power there don't have their heads up thier butts n that topic.Fair enough I admit my body is entirely to use the most simple term cybernetic. Ah I see so he's more what afraid of synethics who can think?"
- Crash (1089) has posed:
A hrm slips from the fox, "Fully cybernetic, eh? Well, I don't know where Bradley's line is. No one has ever done a total conversion, and I've never heard him talk about it. Not sure what he'd think. And yeah, thankfully, most people agree that since it was lightning, I'm as free willed and able bodied as anyone else. We even figured out how to create new machines, and even copy what happened to me onto existing ones. That's what really got our Prime Minister fired up. He won't explain why, just insists that we'll turn or something, I don't know..." she shrugs.
At this point, she starts to sstand, "We're going to have to talk again sometime. I've also had an idea of what to do in the Paladins since the current divisions don't really suit me. Maybe I can talk to you about it since you seem to be a lot like me... well, because of your body. . . Your cybernetic body." Oy. That still sounded bad..
- Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa says "It's become pretty common where I'm fromn and if you ask it was medical. I just might as wlel tune the body up that I have no right? Now to be honest tht is a bit of a scary thing if you can't understand what your children have made. The multivee sadly will give him some leg to stand on, I have encounted sapient machines gone ... mad before. I'd love to as well crash." Kotone just ends up lauahing at it. "IT' fine, it's fine. You haven't encounted something quite like me before. Take care Crasha nd yes we should meet up later."
