Date of Scene: | 05 October 2014 |
Location: | Soul Eater World |
Synopsis: | On a trip to New York Medusa and Crona encounter a beast that seeks to interfere with their business. |
Cast of Characters: | 22, 476, 585 |
- Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
In most worlds most would be well advised against heading out into the dark knight alone. And the urban jungle might be just as dangerous as the dark forests where beasts dwell, ready to pounce on poor children who have lost their way.
Tonight, a lost child is the one most people should fear.
Said child's mother is here as well, following closely behind Crona into the building. The witch's bare feet step carefully across the floor, minding the puddles of blood as she surveys the entry hall. Such a pitiful Shibusen outpost. And the agents are as expected weak and totally unprepared. This is something that Crona can handle on their own. Sure, she could have gone here on her own, but still... it wouldn't do to let her child grow rusty and dull.
"The offices should be up on the second floor, Crona," Medusa states softly and with a bored look in her golden eyes. It sounds like there are more meisters and guards on their way, but like the others... they should fall easily enough without her having to bother with it. Crona /does/ need to kill more, after all.
- Crona (476) has posed:
Poor Crona has been even more depressed than usual lately, if that is even possible. Whether Medusa meant it or not, their inability to meet with D whilst he was still with the Confederacy felt like a personal failing, and whilst they are glad that D is not doing awful things any more... Crona can't help but feel, in some nebulous way, as though they might have been responsible for it. They can't explain why. They STILL don't really understand what it was all about!
The long, black sword Crona carries cuts trails in the carpet as they stumble and trip over themselves. Carnage and blood, blood and death... at least these things are fairly safe ground.
"Yes, Lady Medusa. The second floor comes after the first floor. The /second/ floor comes /after/ the first floor."
The pink-haired kid starts to wander up the stairs, and an eerie smile pulls onto their lips as they meet the startled, scared-looking Meisters.
"Hey." They say, "I was first. Hee hee hee. Now I'm second. Third time might be lucky, I guess? But the numbers just keep going up and up and up!"
- Bigby Wolf (585) has posed:
In HIS world, most would be well advised against fucking with the Big Bad Wolf, who prowls dark forest and urbanity alike as the mood takes him. Or, in lieu of prowling, just happens to be standing on a street corner nearby, eating a hot dog. It seems to be his lot in life that no matter which warp gate he explores, he ends up in some shitty, dark city with something shitty going on. Last night it was one crazy gang shooting up another one. This time...
Bigby's nose wrinkles, and he lowers the hot dog to get a good and proper sniff of the whiff he just got from the building across the intersection. Yup, that's blood. That's... a lot of blood. Shame the wind only just now breezed it in his direction. Eyes narrowing, the detective jams the rest of the dog into his mouth at once and licks his fingers clean as he flips up the collar of his battered trench coat and glances up the street for traffic as he crosses diagonally to the opposite block.
His nose keeps working as he comes up to the front entrance, and stoops there for a moment to touch one of the blood puddles with two fingers. Still fresh. Smells human, or close enough. He frowns as he rises and casts a look across the bloody hall; and then moves purposefully toward the stairwell, carefully stepping around the pools. As if drawn by an invisible force after whoever or whatever so recently passed that way.
- Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
At times Medusa can't help but notice that her child does seem to think that it's okay to speak up concerning certain matters. And the whole deal with D did have its problems. No matter.
Even as Crona advances, Medusa follows, silently observing the broken meister as their mind pulls them into this situation in ways that she has seen numerous times over the years.
The meisters meeting them up on the final trek to the second floor stare in shock and horror at Crona, and one of them points at Medusa, an accusing look in their eyes. "Get the witch! And restrain the kid!" One of them, a young woman wielding a flail, calls out along with her demon weapon partner. "Let's go!" "Careful!" She rushes forward towards Crona, swinging the flail with the intent of hitting them in the leg and hopefully keep them from moving. The others form a wall behind her, blocking off the stairs as well as they can. "You're not getting past us, witch!" And what's with the creepy kid?
Even now Medusa doesn't seem intent to interfere, though she does watch the attacking meister. At least until she blinks and turns her head just slightly, hearing the faint echoes of footsteps. "... I thought I told you to kill everybody on the first floor, Crona?" she inquires. As a matter of fact, she's certain that nobody was left alive down there. Does this mean that there are actually fools brave enough to intervene in this? It's too early for other Shibusen forces to have made their way here.
- Crona (476) has posed:
Weirdly enough, Crona seems more concerned that they might not have completed their orders entirely successfully than they were about the attacking girl with the flail. The chain weapon wraps around their legs, and Crona's head turns over their shoulder with wide, wide eyes. Pupils really nothing more than tiny pinpricks.
"But, I did! We did number one and now we're doing number two, the numbers go upwards, not down! Ah! I don't know how to deal with this!"
A large pair of ruby red lips sprout across the middle of Ragnarok's sword, and the Demon Sword speaks up. <Stop thinking about it so much, Crona! Just kill EVERYBODY! EYAAAAAAAAAA!>
A slobbery tongue issues forth from the slender broadsword, and Crona looks back at the Meister entangling them with her flail. "... Oh, right. Okay. Lets."
And without any further ado, they STAB the sword down into the entangling chains, Ragnarok's scream helping to make the sharp edge vibrate to carve through the weaker metal. In any other world, this would be practically merciful. Given that the flail is another living person, however...
- Bigby Wolf (585) has posed:
'I thought I told you to kill everybody on the first floor, Crona...'
Well, thanks for that verbal confirmation that you're the mastermind, weird snake-smelling lady. And for the intelligence that there's only one other perpetrator up there. Or at least, only one who somehow managed ALL THAT BLOOD, and is therefore someone to be approached with at least a modicum of caution.
The other various shouts and screams fill in the picture for him: he's dealing with a witch -- which can be dubious to tangle with even for someone of his particular... talents -- her minion is an unhinged-sounding child, and said child has a superviolent, crazy and somehow /red/ sounding partner.
Ragnarok's scream causes him to wince with its sudden high-pitched insanity, and he even raises a hand to one ear to guard against the awful sound before he shakes his head and forces himself to hear around it.
Medusa might be able to see a quick reflection of glowing yellow eyes in the dim light of the stairwell, a split second before a humanoid shape detaches itself from the shadows and cannonballs up the stairs. Bigby lets out a bestial GROWL as he bounds upward three steps at a time, and swings one arm wildly to impact just where he judges the witch to be from the sound of her voice, as his fingernails thicken and lengthen into deadly claws.
- Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
At first the meister grins, certain that she has the upper hand. "Just give up now, and we will let you live and stand trial!" The flail however seems a bit more hesitant. "Watch it, Evy! The witch is--"
When Crona stabs Ragnarok through the chains of the flail, her eyes go wide though. "What?!" And then there's the scream. The scream that reveberates throughout the building and shaking its foundations. At this time Medusa has already reached her hands up to her ears, resting her broom across her shoulder. The guards further up the stairs fall, but it's even worse for the meister and her flail... The former shrieks and falls back, and the latter? The chains shatter into several pieces, and the main part of the flail cracks, the weapon bleeding as it changes shape into another young girl, bleeding all over with several nasty cuts covering her torso. A violent cough that leaves her should tell the entire story; she will not last even a minute. The meister realizes this as she lifts her head... and screams. Some of the guards even scramble to their feet and begin running!
Perhaps Medusa would enjoy the chaos a bit more if they didn't have a guest.
The sight of the glowing eyes catches Medusa's attention, and she narrows her own eyes. "Vector Plate!" A black arrow appears underneath her, launching her to the side just moments before the beast lands where she just happened to stand. The witch sails through the air, and she lands up on the railing on the second floor, peering down at Bigby even as two of the guards continue fleeing down the hallway. Without looking away from the wolf, Medusa extends her left arm towards the men doing their best to escape. "Vector Arrow." Several black arrows shoot out of her back and around her arm, rushing down the hallway past the pillars. And while it might not be visible, the sound of screams and blood splattering up the walls should be telling enough.
"I was unaware that Shibusen had let any werewolves on the eastern coast live..." Medusa muses, a serious look on her face. "Or perhaps you are not from this world." It's tough to know with the multiverse and all. It matters little.
"Crona." The tone is cold, even as a small smile spreads across the witch's mouth. "Didn't you always want a puppy...?"
- Crona (476) has posed:
Crona giggles faintly at the violence, and one eye twitches. The pink-haired teenager slouches as the flail falls backwards, but when Medusa says their name again, they whip around. Crona's head cocks at a funny angle as they look at Bigby, and their brow furrows slowly.
"I don't think they like letting dogs in most offices." Crona says - and where most people might be saying this as some kind of taunt, Crona sounds like this is GENUINELY a concern of theirs, as they wobble erratically towards Bigby. Ragnarok is waved around a lot, but they seem almost to be using the big sword for balance more than anything else, the dress-wearing youth unstable in more than one way, for sure.
"You shouldn't be here! We'll get in trouble!" Their voice raises in pitch, mostly because Crona remembers all too well what happened to the LAST pets that Medusa made them look after, and the fates which befell them when they inevitably failed.
"Please, go downstairs and STAY!"
- Bigby Wolf (585) has posed:
Bigby lands heavily in the suddenly-empty space, catching his balance with his fingertips against the floor before he rises menacingly to his feet. He seems to be growing as he stands, the shoulders of the tattered coat rising and filling out as muscle and hair bulks out beneath it. Chin down, lips curled in a sneer over lengthening fangs, he glares upward at the witch balancing on the railing above.
A quick sideways glance is afforded to the pink-haired chiled crying at him about /rules/. "Doesn't apply to police dogs," he quips back gruffly. Not that he's a dog. Or... anywhere near his jurisdiction. But whatever. "I don't think YOU'RE supposed to be here either, kid."
The child, however, is relegated in his mind to the status of lesser threat. He-- she? It has a really weird indeterminate smell -- seems to be having enough trouble carrying that ridiculously large sword, and he supposes the locals will be able to handle them now that he's provided a distraction.
No, the witch is his concern. "We can do this the easy way or the hard way," he offers, his voice turning rougher as his face twists and assumes a more muzzle-like configuration. He practically vibrates with barely restrained energy, balanced to counter with lightning speed if she makes a move.
- Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
What a beast. And behold, it even talks. Then again, is this just a simple werewolf? Those creatures are rough, she should know having worked with one. Why did it come here anyway? Did it smell the blood and decide to feast, and then shift onto living prey? Who knows?
... well, isn't that a surprise. It's with the police?
Medusa chuckles softly at that, narrowing her eyes in amusement. "Many people tell us that," she says and gestures to the blood and bodies left in Crona's wake. Balancing on the banister is a simple task as she steps to the side. "I think that neither of us would like the easy way, am I correct~?" The hard way is oh so much more fun. Still, this man who is turning even more beastly by the minute might want to pay more attention to Crona. "Though I'm not sure why you're interfering in business that is clearly not your own. Shibusen tend to /scream/ when beasts like you show up..."
There is no need for her to say more, right Crona...?
- Crona (476) has posed:
Crona doesn't really look very sure of themselve at all right now. Poor kid. When Bigby says that they shouldn't be here, Crona's wide eyes shift to Medusa for support; if they weren't meant to be here, they are absolutely certain that Medusa would have already said something. Luckily, Crona can pick up on cues just as well as ... well, someone who isn't very good at picking up on cues, but AT LEAST A LITTLE BIT!
"Y-yes, Lady Medusa."
Maybe Shibusen are planning on getting closer. If they are, this isn't a good plan at all. Crona's eyes close for a moment, and those big lips return on Ragnarok as they carefully lift it up to their face. Crona's voice is soft when they say:
"Screech Beta."
But Ragnarok's is anything but.
<EYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!>
Swinging around, the sword is almost twice as long, a massive wave of sharp black energy flowing out of it, burning with a brilliantly purple outline. Crona swings the weapon around with grace which completely seems at odds with the clumsy way they had been moving moments before, bringing it up overhead (and coincidentally, gouging a huge lump out of the ceiling) as they aim to cleave the meddling investigator in twain.
Crona doesn't really want to; but Mother knows best.
- Bigby Wolf (585) has posed:
"Jesus--" is all Bigby has time to get out as the suddenly-even-huger sword is cleaving down at him. Since he was tensed to go after the witch, that's where his reflexive leap takes him, but that unholy SHRIEK throws him off. He slams against the wall with his shoulder, letting out a sharp, disoriented grunt as his eyes roll and try to regain his bearings. His ears, having grown out to pointed wolflike proportions, flatten defensively against his head. There's a great tear in his tattered pants, and blood trickles down his leg and down the edge of the demon sword.
What the fuck ARE these people?
"Mass homicide in progress... always my business," he quips thickly as he grips the metal railing to steady himself. And then with a great heave, he rips it out of its moorings -- whether Medusa is still standing on it or not -- and swings it around at Crona like it's the bottom of the ninth and bases are loaded!
- Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
Good, Crona is always willing to carry out orders. Medusa watches intently as Bigby is struck by Ragnarok and begins bleeding. Does this one heal as easily and quickly as werewolves from this world do? Crona should be well aware of basic facts about the creatures, so there's no need for her to bark instructions.
"Make sure to keep the mongrel busy, Crona," she orders, blinking when the werewolf tears out the railings. She just barely manages to leap back and off of it, landing on the floor before she rushes down the hallway. A kishin in the making should be enough to handle a simple werewolf, all while she gets what they came here for in the first place. And well, Crona did need something a bit more challenging than weak guards anyway.
- Crona (476) has posed:
Crona might be aware of such things on an intellectual level... but in the middle of a fight, they sometimes forget that they should use the sharp bit of the sword. What we're saying is, Crona might not be dumb, but they are easily distracted by things. For instance, when a hand rail is used as an impromptu baseball club.
"Oof!"
The pink-haired Meister crumples like they are made of tissue paper, and really, they've got no weight to them at all. They crunch into the wall with the wind knocked out of them, and the wall cracks under the impact. Blunt force trauma. One of the more effective ways of dealing with Crona, its gotta be said - even if that is likely to be entirely luck at this stage.
Crona slithers down to the floor, but they don't stay there very long. Slithering is a good adjective as they ooze back up to standing, too. Who says Crona doesn't take after their mother? Soon, they begin to advance on Bigby, poking and stabbing with the tip of Ragnarok, who JUST KEEPS SCREAMING as Crona provides a running commentary.
"I had to kill these people!" Poke, "If I don't kill them, they'll just die anyway!" Poke poke, "And I need to get strong so that I don't die!" Poke poke poke, "And besides, the second comes AFTER the first. IT COMES AFTER!"
Crona may well be one of the most /distraught/ mass murderers in history. It sounds like this is really getting to them. What do you think, Ragnarok?
<EYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!>
Thanks for the contribution, Ragnarok.
- Bigby Wolf (585) has posed:
"AFTER HER!" Bigby roars in such a commanding voice, cutting through the constaint wailing scream that the other Meisters might just go after Medusa out of sheer reflex. (At least none of them are attacking him; maybe they're smart enough to see that he's fighting the Bad Guys.) It seems he has to deal with the cub, first.
"You don't KILL people unless you're going to EAT THEM," he counters Crona's logic with his own, kinda tangentially not-as-evil logic? As he backs up and circles to avoid the sword thrusts, he eyes up the kid's technique and looks for a good opening. Clearly, this is something like a Fable, or Super, or Elite, or whatever the hell they call them in this part of the Multiverse, and that slice in his leg /hurts/. He'd rather not get chopped up if he can avoid it.
The cub seems to be overbalancing a bit with every poke. That blade is WAY too big for them. "No matter how strong you get, kid..." Bigby waits for the next really aggressive thrust, and spins defensively around it, closing the distance between them in one great stride that puts him inside the sword's slicing arc -- but he doesn't mean to stand there and get cut down. One muscular, hairy arm whips around with his momentum, aiming a backhanded CLOUT upside Crona's head. "--there is ALWAYS someone bigger, and badder." Life lessons.
- Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
The roar seems to catch the attention of the two remaining guards, who up until now have been staring in horror at the scene unfolding in front of them. Witches, rogue meisters... and now werewolves? Werewolves who give them orders?! But it does seem like it is on their side. What can the guards do but nod? "R-right!" One of them picks up his halberd, and the other gets his own sword before they rush up the stairs after Medusa, who's headed into one of the offices by now.
The blonde woman glances around as she studies the many shelves with books upon books, only to frown when she heads the guards coming up behind her. "Halt!" one of them cries out, causing Medusa to turn around, black snakes coiling out and about her. "You should have run away while you had the chance...!" she states firmly. Foolish men. "Vector Arrow!" Again those blakc snakes shoot out and zig zag through the air, hitting their intended targets, even if one of them does their best to avoid it, and his partner charges forward, slicing his way through some of the snakes... but not all. A sickening sound leaves him as two of the snakes pierce his sternfum, staining his chest with his own blood as he falls forward with a breathless cry.
It sounds as it Crona and the werewolf are still fighting, the witch notes... and she idly tells herself to /hurry/ as she rushes to the main desk in the office and tears open the drawers of the desk, hunting through the various papers there. The information should be here...!
- Crona (476) has posed:
"But we DO eat them!" Crona protests, and the sword raises up, mouth open wide to reveal sparkling white teeth, and a slobbering, lashing tongue. <That's RIGHT! We eat them up! Every last bit of their delicious SOUL! MWAHAHAHAHA!>
Crona is smiling now, a crooked, even somewhat bashful smile as they dip their head down, looking at Bigby through their left eye, standing side-on, "So that means we can stop fighting, right? So long as we eat every last-- AAH!"
The punch smashes right into the side of Crona's head, and - dear god, it is like hitting a steel girder. Whatever this kid is made of, it isn't flesh and blood - not normal blood anyway. This becomes immediately obvious, as Crona's face is whipped around to the side, lip split... and black blood oozes from the wound. Whatever coherence they might have just gained is immediately lost again as they giggle.
<HEY! Don't just stand there and let him hit you, you idiot!>
But Crona leans in as though wanting to whisper a conspiratorial secret. "Hey, hey hey, hey, Mister..." And they hold up one hand to their mouth in the universal sign of the secret-is-about-to-be-shared.
"My blood is black you know."
And it is after THAT, that Crona really would make Mommy happy. Because rather than keep messing around, they finally seem like they can WIELD that sword, as they aim to impale Bigby right on it, one-handed. Surprisingly sneaky for a babbling lunatic!
- Bigby Wolf (585) has posed:
Bigby lets out a snarl of surprised pain at just how HARD the kid's skull is, and dances back shaking the sting out of his hand. His blood is black? Yeah, he can see that, oozing down his split lip.
"Yeah, so-- hrrk," he starts to sneer, when with a sudden graceful movement he wouldn't have thought possible given the child's earlier flailing, the sword sheathes itself in his belly.
Bigby coughs; looks down in surprise for the space of a tense, shallow breath; looks back up into the eyes of the insane child-murderer.
And lunges, with a feral ROAR, right up the blade, trapping it further inside his own flesh, as his claws try to rip the wielder's hands away from the hilt and his bestial, snarling head twists sideways, fangs aimed to fasten around the cub's throat.
- Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
The noises from the stairwell carries well into the office, and Medusa tries to not let it distract her as she searches through the seemingly endless supply of paper. She's gotten part of the info, but not everything. It sounds like Crona will be able to to hold on for a bit more. Though she's surprised that the wolf hasn't fallen yet, she must admit. Perhaps her assistance is needed in order to pull Crona out of the fight.
But for now the witch continues her hunt, tearing open another locked drawer thanks to a well placed Vector Arrow.
- Crona (476) has posed:
Crona seems pretty happy with how the stab went. Look! Ragnarok's all stabbed into the nasty man's stomach, that's usually pretty great as a way to finish things off. But as Crona starts trying to pull the sword back out, Bigby chases him down it. The result is a fleeing Crona, with Bigby getting closer and closer, until Crona hits the wall behind them and then Bigby is on them.
"H-hey, quit it!" Crona whines, as Bigby's feral rage overcomes insanity-powered strength, at least temporarily. Their hands come away from Ragnarok, and Crona tries to push back at the werewolf, "Hey! Your breath smells really bad, like raw meat! I can't DEAL with that, ow! Ow hey! You're biting me!"
Piercing Crona's skin isn't too difficult; its literally the moment Bigby gets THROUGH the skin that things get weird. First of all, there's the taste. Black Blood does not taste good, it tastes like concentrated evil and insanity, mixed with liquid metal and polluted oil. Then there's the smell, which is basically nauseating, but even worse than all of that, is the fact that the Black Blood *BITES BACK*.
The sword inside Bigby's guts melts away, flowing back into Crona, and the poor child's back begins to bubble and flow unhealthily. What's worse, though, is that the blood filling Bigby's mouth is beginning to do the same thing, becoming sharp and... stabby, as it does.
"Aaaaah, you're eating me! But I'm the one who is meant to do the eating! Quit it! This is really gross and you're getting your spit all over my dress! I have to clean this up later!"
- Bigby Wolf (585) has posed:
For the first couple seconds Bigby is too lost in rage and the feral joy of crushing an enemy's throat in his jaws to notice, but only for a couple of seconds. Then the godawful taste of the kid's blood makes him gag and try to spit Crona out wholesale. Fortunately, the blade melting away helps to facilitate this, and he shoves at the crazy child, staggering back as his own clean, red blood wells from the hole in his middle, and paws with a yelping noise at his face as the nasty black stuff turns into knives inside his mouth. He hacks and spits a nasty spray of combined spittle, oily black tar and blood from his sliced tongue and cheeks, with an unnatural propulsion that spatters the lot against the wall behind Crona with the force of hailstones.
"Gah," he pants, grunting in pain and covering the whole in his belly with one hand, aware of that now that the nasty shit is out of his mouth. "What... are you?" This is out of no goddamn story he's ever heard, and he's heard a lot. He sways on his feet, grabs for the railing -- which is of course no longer there because he ripped it up -- but that seems to give him an idea.
Feigning exaggerated disability from the sword-thrust through him (which is, let's be honest, pretty fucking bad without exaggeration) he takes a staggering step forward, apparently just trying to keep his balance -- but he turns that into an aggressive lunge, reaching out with the hand NOT clutching his belly to grab for Crona's neck. If he's able to get a grip, he'll whirl and try to fling the cub down the stairwell by its head!
- Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
"Crona is a kishin in the making."
The soft voice comes from above, and perhaps Bigby has time enough to react before she speaks again. "Vector Plate."
A black arrow pointing away from Crona appears underneath Bigby, intending to throw him into the wall and away from Crona. Crona might likewise find a black arrow underneath them no matter where they are, whether it is in the stairway and down and the bottom of it. There's also a black arrow appearing on the wall, pointing down and towards another black arrow, and these are utilized by Medusa as she leaps down from the second floor and down into the stairway, flinging herself through the air and down to the first floor along with Crona.
"I'm afraid playtime is over, Crona. Let's withdraw," she states firmly with a wicked leer on her face as she looks at the horrendous beast. It does appear that it did a number on her child, huh? Far more vicious than she anticipated.
- Crona (476) has posed:
"I already told you! My blood is black..."
Welling up from Crona's spine, Ragnarok reforms in his humanoid shape. Incredibly muscular, the flowing black masculine torso could not be more of a counterpoint to Crona's spindly body. His 'face' is a large white X with two googly eyes on it, just in case Bigby didn't think Crona was weird enough already. Large white 'boxing glove' hands dig in to the side of Crona's skull.
<Well Crona? Are you going to say thank you for keeping your windpipe in one piece?!>
Crona looks quite sheepish, one hand grasping the elbow on the other arm meekly. "thankyou"
<LOUDER CRONA, YOU CALL THAT A THANK YOU?!>
"Aaaah! Thank you Ragnarok for keeping my windpipe together!!"
This frankly bizarre back and forth gives Bigby all the time he needs to get a grip on Crona's throat. In fact, when he does, Crona looks faintly surprised, eyes meeting his as they blink. "Oh, um, h-hello--"
And then they are flying through the air. It is almost peaceful, really, the descent towards the floor. It only lasts a few seconds, but for those few seconds, they aren't being bitten or stabbed or noogied or beat up in any way whatsoever. Ragnarok, of course, slips inside Crona's body so that HE doesn't take the impact, and the poor Meister goes THUMP.
And then Medusa's arrow shoots them out the front door, where their face skids along the dirt for a good ten feet before finally coming to a complete stop.
"... I'm okay ..."
- Bigby Wolf (585) has posed:
Bigby finds himself slammed back against the far wall without any sense of where the sudden thrusting force came from. His head thuds against it with a sickening crack and he slumps down, sprawled with his legs out in front and arms dangling limply at his side, struggling to keep his chin off his chest so that he can watch the witch and her... kishin (whatever that is) leave. But they're already down the stairs before he can lift his eyes that far.
Then a long, low groan bubbles out between his lips as his more wolfish features begin to recede, leaving a man in extreme tattered remnants of clothing clutching at the wound in his abdomen in dim pain. The bleeding, at least, seems already to be slowing as his magical constitution works to knit itself together from the inside out. That doesn't make it HURT any less.
He just hopes that anyone still alive in the building will offer him help instead of trying to finish him off.
- Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
Once Medusa is certain that the werewolf is not coming after her, she isn't slow to hurry out of the building, looking around to make sure that there are no other men or beasts who seek to interfere. When there are none she quickly makes her way to Crona where they are sprawled out on the pavement. A quick glance tells her everything she needs to know. Crona can get treatment at the Citadel once they get back, and it's nothing that they haven't suffered and lived through before. The Black Blood is truly her greatest creation.
The broom is set to hover in the air next to her while she reaches a hand down to grab Crona by the back of their dress, and Medusa forcibly hoists the child up. "We are done, and the mutt isn't following us." In their current state, Ragnarok won't be able to fly them too well. And right now their main priority is to leave before reinforcements appear. So up on the broom they go, even if Medusa has to pull Crona up.
