Cast of Characters: 522, Sanary Rondel

Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
The night sky was high above. The sounds of night life and hooting of owls filling the forest air, along with the rustling of tree leaves. Yet there was activity in the forest this evening and not that of campers. The activity was several of Troops walking alongside their own Legatus as they searched for-- whatever.

One of them had out a device as he seemed to be scanning the area, the other jotting down notes. Its hard to say what the Garleans were exactly up too out here and their dropship most likely was somewhere near by-- but that too was a mystery of where.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
There were substantially more trees than expected. Since when was the road heading back to the village even this dense? Things couldn't have changed that much unless...

... She was lost again, wasn't she? Sighing lightly, Sanary tapped her tomahawk against the side of a tree before truding onwards, poking and nudging aside the foliage in her way. Luckily enough, her path took her out of the woods just in time to start on a collision course with the Legatus and the Troops.

Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
As Sanary moved in closer to where the Garleans were, it be an tall 'elf' like individual who may hear her coming before she arrives and he is also the one who speaks up, "Halt! I am afraid citizen you will need to turn around and come from wince.."

"That will be not required." Another man's voice speaks, reverbed by the helm and perhaps a touch deeper then what Sanary may recall from when she met him in the training room. Gaius Van Baelsar stands out amongst his me. Wearing dark black armor that seems to ignore the light, crimson red leather-like cloth and wrappings, and covering from head to toe. Even his eyes can not be seen past the void lens that conceal them.

"My lord?" The elf-like man asks, as he turns to face Gaius, "What if they are.."

"I know whom they are and they are of the Confederacy."

"A.. ah." The elf suddenly then lowers his head and speaks quickly. "I am sorry m'lady, I did not mean to be rude to a great ally of the Garlean Empire."

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Jerking to a stop at the sound of someone calling out, Sanary's hand reaches for her axe instinctively as she whirls around to face the source of the sound. Her appearance is significantly more haggard than the day before, her white coat significantly dirtier and covered in leaves (likely a result of forcing her way through the forest). Her posture relaxes slightly as the first voice appears to be standing down, although she doesn't move her hand away from the tomahawk at her side.

"Have we met before? And what's about a 'great ally' and Garlean? Wait. This place..." Glancing around as if that would actually accomplish anything, the woman lets out a long sigh before letting her hands hang freely and away from the weapon.

"... This isn't Plegia at all, is it?"

Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
As the woman seems very lost a few of the Troops look among themselves, even as she asks where she is. They give a light shrug, another one softly asks another if they even /heard/ of such a place. They all seem very confused about /what/ the woman is talking about.

Gaius however steps up to her with easy steps. Though his boots are metal, they walk far softer then one would expect. His gloved hand comes to rest on her shoulder gently. Further reassuring she is safe. "I fear you have made a wrong turn. This is The Great Forest. One of the many lands of the Multiverse itself."

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Sanary Rondel doesn't react until the hand makes contact with her shoulder, briefly making her tense up defensively before relaxing once more. She raises an eyebrow slightly as Gaius speaks, familiarity starting to show in her faded eye. "Legatus Van Gaius? Wait. Baelsar. Van... Legatus Van Baelsar."

She mouthed that silently to herself a few times before speaking up again, sounding somewhere between concerned and confused. "What are you doing out here? Didn't get sick since the other day, did you? You sound... Different today."

Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
The Legatus nods his head gently, "Aye-- Van Baelsar." He then tilts head he gently, before hrming softly. "It is the helm I wear. It alters my voice slightly."

Gaius then turns to some of his men, motioning his hand outward, "Continue the work that needs to be done, then head back to the dropship. I shalt be with you all shortly."

"Yes My Lord!" They all chime in before continuing to go back to whatever they were doing.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
"Good. Can't have you getting sick now with the... Work?" Sanary tilts her head slightly as Gaius issues the command to his troops, a light whistle leaving her lips shortly after their united response. "Good discipline. Wish the guys back home were this well trained."

Running a hand through her hair and picking out multiple bits of leaves and branches, the woman wipes her hand off on her (just as dirty) coat. "Am I keeping you from a mission? I can find my way back if you need to supervise them or... Hell, you need an extra hand?"

Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
Gaius steps back as he crosses his arms over his chest. "Thank you. My men are all well trained, as expected from the military of Garlemald." The Legatus hms softly. "As for help, nay. My men have it well covered. We were simply getting readings in the area of aetheric fields.." The Legatus pauses there for a moment. "..A form of energy from my world. Magical, life force-- energy."

Yeah-- that should explain it well enough.

"Since Hydaelyn has become part of the Multiverse, the aetheric energy has been expanding out to regions. Though light it is, we attempt to monitor it never-the-less." Gaius tilts his head faintly."Though I should be asking if you wish some help to return home."

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Sanary Rondel nods slowly while picking more bits of gunk out of her hair. "That explains it. No military training or anything for us, so the difference is... Yeah." Glancing in the direction of what she could only assume was where the soldiers had gone to, the girl turns her head just a bit before closing her eyes. "Different names, same stuff. Makes about as much sense as everything else so far."

An amused smirk crosses her face briefly, although it does fade as Gaius continues his explanation. "Maybe I could try and make one of your monitoring devices more... Aether-finding?"

Smooth. Drawing in a long breath, Sanary clears her throat somewhat awkwardly before shaking her head. "Don't worry about it. I'm not in a rush, anyway."

Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
Gaius smirks behind the helm, his voice only carries it slightly. "I thank you for your eager desire to help." Then his voice gets a bit more serious. "However Garlean Magitek is not equipment we hand out lightly nor just to anyone. In our world, we are the most advanced civilization-- though there are wonders in the Multiverse that make us seem.. primitive."

The Legatus shakes his head gently. "Nay. Not anything you can do to assist in such manner, I fear." He does tilt his head faintly. "Though I did not have the privilage to hear much about your own world or its plight. Perhaps while we stand about, you may desire to share some?"

Though Gaius chuckles gently. "Though such longer formalities of worlds best be shared over a hot cup of tea or fine wine."

Sanary Rondel has posed:
"Need to earn my keep around here somehow." Sanary's own smirk fades as she listens to Gaius' brief explanation rather intently, her eye widening just a bit after a few moments. "Even more advanced than voice changers and doors that open on their own? I need to see that." She snorts lightly after that, holding in a snicker before drooping slightly. "... W-well, not 'see' see, but... You know what I mean."

The girl hums to herself lightly as she crosses her arms over her chest and strokes her chin lightly. "We don't have the fancy doors or voice changers, for starters. Wine's a little... Very out of my price range, but I can make some decent tea if that's alright."

Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
Gaius voice remains rather calm. "Yes, there is more advance things out there then door which open on their own and modifications to armors to make one stronger." He lowers his arms. "..and truth be, it would be I taking you to my ship for such a conversation."

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Another impressed whistle. "Damn. I definitely need to... There has to be a word other than 'see' for this type of thing that won't make me feel like shit." Sanary snickers to herself, although she does seem distracted for a moment before the confusion sets in once more. "Your ship? But we're in a forest. Unless there's an ocean right next to this forest or the ship is..."

Trailing off, she furrows her brow and closes her eyes, remaining silent for a few long seconds. "... Would it be easier if I don't think too hard about this type of thing?"

Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
"This vessel I use is able to fly." Gaius explains. "It has been coined the term-- Airship, though many in Hydaelyn are actually made of wood with some steel, the ones we operate in the Garlean Empire use is that of Cermet and Metal alloys."

The Legatus then shakes his head faintly. "Though I wish I could explain further, but it is difficult to break down the fundamentals of such a technology when I am unsure how much of it, well, you would understand." He words do take a softer tone as he expresses this, but fall silent then.

Then when he speaks up he inhales deeply. "I need to meet back with my men. If you desire a lift to your home world-- we can offer it to you."

Sanary Rondel has posed:
"Flying boats. That's..." Glancing aside for a moment, Sanary lets out a noncommittal grunt before turning back to Gaius. "Not as surprising as it probably should be. Even if metal doesn't sound like it should even float, never mind -fly-, but..."

She cuts herself off with a laugh and shakes her head, the last bits of tree thrown off by the movement. "Ah, don't worry about it. I think I'm just about ready to stop thinking for a while before all this new stuff makes me go crazy. Maybe when we get that tea or wine or whichever, though."

After straightening out the eyepatch, the woman raises her hand and shakes her head once more, although more as a response than for hygiene this time. "You've got work and your men to focus on. I'll find my way, don't worry."

Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
"If that is what you wish." The Black Wolf says calmly before he bows his head gently to her. "May you have a pleasant evening and I'll be sure to find you one day for that glass of wine or tea." With that said, the Legatus then makes his way on back to where his men have wondered off.
