- Sinon (649) has posed:
HOURS IN THE PAST (BUT NOT MANY)...
<<Theme: Highway to the Danger Zone>>
"Ahahaha, this is great! So nice! Hey, come on, faster!"
At about sixty miles an hour, a large oily trike races down the streets of SBC Glocken, weaving in and out of traffic and dodging four-wheelers making sudden lane changes. After several months of frosty contact, Kirito and Sinon are surely making up for lost time by making their way to two respective meetings- they're late for both- by doing ridiculous things on a rent-a-tricycle. The laughter of the frost-haired girl is lost in a ridiculously loud engine roar as they peel towards the city limits.
Eventually, they run out of road, the city thinning out into the ruins that will eventually themselves thin out into various dungeons and raid zones. There's only so much more that the vehicle can traverse, and so it's time to go on foot- in mutually different directions.
"Don't be a stranger," Sinon says to her... acquaintance, and that's impressively glowing considering how little she's wanted to have to do with him recently.
- Sinon (649) has posed:
MINUTES IN THE PAST...
<<Theme: Gunland https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijkswb7wenc>>
"Until my heart becomes a stone, and my flowing blood freezes..."
Sinon is hiding quietly, in the ruins of a building. Moving through the ruins is a group of monster hunters, including a figure in a cloak. This group of people is not her group- they are hidden, quietly talking on their own shortband radios. "The enemy's course is 400m from you, and 1500 metres from me..."
The core of her head becomes cold. Her heartbeat slows down like a lie.
"That's like throwing a ball of waste paper into a basket."
A roar like thunder shakes the world, and a man's chest from his head down to his shoulder disappears into voxels. In the world of Gun Gale Online, the sniper 'Hecate', one of the best players in the business, is just having another day.
- Kirito has posed:
KIRITO IS LATE.
Although not terribly so. Maybe ten minutes.
But late for what, exactly?
Well, as it turns out... somewhere out in the wasteland, rumor paints a disturbing picture. A group of hardcore PKers who may know something about the Death Gun everyone's out to investigate use a bunch of ruins - in this case, a dungeon - as their lair. Out here in the wasteland where dry winds carry gritty sand and the occasional tumbleweed, where maverick robots and monstrous mutants roam and crumbling ruins of the old world lie waiting for adventurers to brave them.
As it so happens, the dungeon entrance is at the base of a half-destroyed skyscraper. The field's near sunset and the meeting grounds is a small zone between rocky outcroppings where monsters don't spawn, on a low plateau overseeing the ruins...
- Iria (215) has posed:
It had been awhile since Iria had gone into the online worlds like before. She thought that she was done with it, and resumed her job as a bounty hunter while helping out for the Union however she could. But when she got the notice to meet up at the dungeon entrance, Iria didn't hesitate in getting back in there as quickly as she could. She had a feeling that this day would come and when it came she planned to be ready.
It takes her a little while to find her way back, but eventually Iria finds her way to the entrance where Kirito stated to meet up with him. She runs up a little out of breath but otherwise looking ready for action. As she catches her breath, she looks around for Kirito and the others. "Been awhile, but I'm ready as ever!"
- Tomoe has posed:
So here they were again she knew what htey had to do she's loaded up with flash bangs, and other nasty little things for their enemies. She may or may not even have got some dirty rounds for her pistol. She got they would have to meet up, she's aldo had the sense to carry an energy shotgun in her inventory to deal with the PVE monsters that were lurking about here. Thankfully she had made it given she was being fairly sneaky, Eisen did not fight a lot like Tomoe did. She was far more sneaky in this state, also even more agile. She had shelled out some major money for some optic cameo and it had worked for her to make it to the dungeon unharmed. Now where was everyone else? The Asian woman took a moment to lean back on the wall and watch the sunset as she waited, blowing a strand of red hair out of her eyes. It was funny she could forget easily none of this was real.
- Frederica (73) has posed:
Gear isn't entirely a problem, not if you have money. And Frederica does have money, if not so much time to grind as she once had. It seemed only proper, in this case at least, to take care of GGO's RMT system to buy her way to a reasonable level of firepower.
As to what the explosive once-and-future-pyro is wearing? Well, she's wearing an avatar that resembles her normal self somewhat. Her hair is its normal length if rather ... well, if purple. And her curves... well, okay. That's one thing about Frika. Her avatars are more generous in certain areas than nature would grant her flesh-and-blood form. Her outfit is practical in only a game sense, consisting of 'camo' shorts and an improbable shirt, along with combat boots, gloves, and assorted pouches and ammo.
()
Fortunately, this is about Death Gun. While Frika doesn't much care about the game GGO, she does care about some asshole killing people. It may not be as personal as it was when Asuna was at risk, but it's still worth killing for... as long as the killing is entirely virtual.
"Where IS that ... Kirito?" Frika says, huffing virtual sand off her cheek. "If he's not coming soon, I'm going to start blowing up the place." she promises, not particularly sincere, one hand coming to rest on a grenade on one of her several belts.
- Amalthea (395) has posed:
Just a routine run through some ruins. Though with the rash of PKs going on, it's not out of the ordinary for groups like these monster hunters to hire a big bruiser along for protection. A bruiser such as the dark figure shrouded in a tattered hood and cloak, with one glowing eye gleaming through the shadows of the hood.
Bulky, heavy, definitely out of the ordinary. And as soon as the thunder clap of that monstrous sniper rifle goes off, the glimmering leer of teeth pulling into a smug grin can be seen from the shadows of that hood.
Just like that, the figure thumbs the safety of their weapon with a loud *-CHAK-*
But the figure does not budge. It does not panic.
Hecate's used her first shot. The second will have a targetting line.
- Agil (656) has posed:
Don't mind the tall black man decked out in what amounts to heavy armor in this world. He's not as scary as he looks.
Agil has been waiting for a while now along with the others, having taken up a position leaning against a rocky wall. His head is bobbing a little as if he is listening to something, while twirling a large shell around in his hand.
As Kirito finally makes his way to the meeting point, Agil pushes himself off the wall and turns to him... And can't help but smirk some more.
- Reker (631) has posed:
It seemed that Kirito wanted to be the one taking the lead on this one. So who was Reker to say no? Of course now he's kinda wondering where the hell Kirito is, since he's been waiting for like twenty minutes for the kid to show.
Reker pulls up his menu again to check the time, spotting Kirito arriving through the semi-translucent menu. He swipes it closed and then stands up, "Bout time. What kept you? Getting hit on by a bunch of folks in town again?"
- Arthur Lowell has posed:
ARTHUR LOWELL is here!
The energetic, bright-eyed mage looks just a little bit out of place around here, but more like a player who forgot to equip their armor than anything else. He does have an elaborate breather mask and goggles setup, though, for the sand and weird interior areas.
"Yeah, god DAMN, dude, you're like a MONTH late!" Arthur asides, over one shoulder, when Kirito does eventually arrive. "So HEY, what's the PLAN? We gonna RUN IN THE FRONT DOOR? 'Cause that's all I GOT right now, as far as MOSTLY MULTIVERSALLY INCONSPICUOUS STUFF goes for me." He's here as his real-life body, of course. He's also eager to begin! As soon as any direction or plan is decided on, Arthur's gonna book it down the plateau and towards the dungeon. No sense wasting literally any time at all!
- Staren has posed:
Staren still occasionally plays some ALO and GGO, but somehow, he's managed to never be in GGO at the same time as any other Gatecrashers, and his interest has tapered off since he got his christmas gifts and played it for most of a few solid days in early January. Now, he's looking forward to /finally/ getting to play with some friends /and/ work on making progress on the Death Gun case!
This time, he hasn't bothered making his avatar look like himself, for the most part. The post-apocalypse cowboy rides up on a cheap, rented vehicle -- he wasn't told to sneak, and how the hell do you /sneak/ across open wasteland anyhow?
Staren rides up, looks at the assembled players, and dismounts. "Howdy, pardners." he affects an accent and tips his hat... then drops the act. "So, who all is who this time? I can't believe it's taken /this/ long for me to finally meet you guys in here..."
- Kirito has posed:
Kirito makes a slightly grumpy face at the reception. Agil and Eisen and probably Arthur will definitely know the soggy cat, grumpy face going all the way back to Sword Art Online!
They've seen it enough.
"I... got held up giving someone a ride on the way here, guys!" Sheesh.
"So the dungeon down there, rumor has it a hardcore PKing guild uses it for a hideout. There were a few forum threads on it. Asking them for anything they know about Death Gun might give us some leads!"
- Sinon (649) has posed:
'Do you think that's that rumored <<Death Gun?>>'
'I don't think he really exists...'
The monster-hunter hunters- a man named Dyne and several others- are chatting to one another as Sinon takes out the first, but she cuts through them with her bullet- and a message that she's going to be repositioning. However, the surprise element is in, and Dyne's group emerges for a firefight. It might not entirely be a fair fight, because they've got special forcefields to deal with the hunters' energy bullets... that's not Sinon's concern at all, though.
Kirito might just feel a chill even though he's pretty far away right now, because she's absolutely noticed that smile on the hooded figure's face.
"Is that person confident enough to smile on the battlefield? ...I'm absolutely going to kill them!"
- Tomoe has posed:
Eisen tilts her head over to Frederica and nods a bit.
"It's strange he's late, you think the raid lead would be on time for their own raid. He's so losing DKP if he's not here shortly."
You don't think the GU has something for handling loot issues even when gearing up? She look to see Agil and grins.
"So the heavy weapons merchant is here. Good."
It was good to have another Clearer and the one man for nearly two years. She also notices the Medio has arrived ans she nods for a moment.
"I see your here again, I guess we really will need a maid of your skills to clean up."
She looks to Agil again with a smirk.
"You know I'd been missing having your back up around, then again you got to keep rep with your lady fair, no?"
She looks to Kirito and laughs.
"Your on the edge of losing DKP boss."
- Frederica (73) has posed:
"Giving someone a ride?" Frika shakes her head. "If I'd known you were giving rides I wouldn't have had to walk out here!" she complains. "Oh well, I suppose you're not TOO late. I won't blow you up. This time." she says, peering at Kirito and smirking in a way that probably brings her cait sith avatar to mind.
"Right then. Let's get going! What's the plan? Shoot everything, interrogate the survivors?" she grins maliciously. Hey, this is a game where no one - save perhaps people like Arthur Lowell - can actually get hurt. She can afford to have FUN! And more than that, she's allowed to actually indulge in wanton destruction without guilt!
- Iria (215) has posed:
"Don't worry about it," Iria comments to Kirito as he arrives. This is truly unusual for Iria, as she's usually very impatient in situations like this, and that can result in an explosion on her behalf. As it stands, she simply stands there listening to what Kirito has to say, nodding her head a little in acknowledgement, until he gets to the part about the PKers. Iria knows what PKers are, and she's not liking the sound of this one bit.
"There's a bunch of player killers in there who are top notch," Iria asks, arms folded with a scowl on her face, "And we're expected to interrogate them? I hope you've got a good plan for this!"
- Staren has posed:
"Okay, /Arthur/'s obvious..." Staren comments, as Kirito approaches, then double-takes. "Kirito?? How'd you end up with /that/ avatar?" Staren approaches and circles him once, scrutinizing the avatar. "...Anyway, they have a point: Why should a bunch of PKers talk to /us/. Remember ALO? Or are we gonna try the direct approach -- tell them who we are and see if they respect the Gatecrashers enough to talk to us instead of fighting to the death?"
- Agil (656) has posed:
Agil chuckles and simply responds to Tomoe with, "Of course!"
As the others point out the obvious difficulties of getting the PKers to talk, Agil is messing around in his inventory screen. He joins in with, "So we'll probably need to give them a beat down, but leave them in talking condition." He equips his main weapon, the large M32 Multiple Grenade Launcher appearing in his hand.
Agil slides open the revolver cylinder and begins to pull some large shells from one of his bandoliers, "No problem. I've got a little something for that." He starts loading the large ammo into the launcher with a happy grin on his face.
- Reker (631) has posed:
"Which guild is it, anyway?" Reker asks, as he pulls his SOCOM-47 out and checks the weapon, "And so what exactly is our plan, Kirito?" He asks, "Are we going to walk inside and go 'Hey you guys, are any of you Death Gun?'. Because I really don't think I like that plan."
- Amalthea (395) has posed:
Confident enough to smile on the battlefield... No. The hooded beast is LEERING.
No sooner than Dyne and squadron emerge to start peppering the monster hunters, and the battle of flying bullets and energy bolts starts, the cloaked behemoth starts a slow forward stride, unbothered by the hail of full auto fire flailing in every direction.
Another *CHAK-CHAK* and the surprises is loaded.
From the depths of that hood emerges a long, bulky, barrel, flared at the muzzle, a belt of ammunition dangling from the side of a ridiculously heavy looking, full sized squad operated machinegun. A German World War II Maschinengewehr 42.
And the beast is holding it in ONE HAND.
A squeeze of the trigger and it spits death, a stuttering stacatto of bullets at a frightening rate of 1,200 rounds per minute at the unsuspecting PKers.
It's not suppressing fire.
It's MULCHING fire. And probably loud enough to get some attention.
- Sinon (649) has posed:
The plan might have to be one of those ones you need to adjust on the fly, or potentially even just throw entirely out of the window when it becomes obvious that you may, in fact, have been flummoxed, because A FOUL FORCE OF DARKNESS DRAWS NEAR!
The ground shakes and something stirs! Here's a fun fact: in some MMORPGs, you may not just encounter a <<Boss>> monster in the bottom of a dungeon. Sometimes there are things called <<World Bosses>>, which roam openly in the world at large... unless of course you happen to be right in front of them as they spawn.
Like you guys.
A huge collection of what previously looked like scrap wreckage and huge bones, dismissable due to their being caked in stone dust and grime, is struck by a seemingly random electrical surge, 'reactivating' some 'previously depowered machinery'! The huge ensemble begins to pull itself back together...
HUNCHBONE
CYBORG BONE GOLEM
Yeah, think fast, heroes!
Sinon may or may not notice that, about a block away, a world boss has just shown up- she's kind of occupied at the moment with her own set of problems. Namely the fact that hey, she recognizes that gun- oh shittt-
And Dyne's group are just as surprised. It's going to be the last thing that one of them sees for a while, as the M42 cuts through the wall he was hiding behind and his avatar to boot. And with the hunters providing her with covering fire, this is very difficult.
Nobody would fault Sinon for cutting and running, with two huge opponents to contend with--
So why is she running TOWARDS them?!
- Staren has posed:
Suddenly, electrical surge! Pieces of junk start moving... Staren's not sure what this is, but clearly some kind of world event is coming! "Look out!" Staren looks around for cover and draws his laser pistol (rather than his SIG-SAUER P229, while we're name-checking guns) since this is a PVE event, "Do you think they'll attack us while we're fighting the boss?!" As he speaks, he decides to hop /back/ on his rented vehicle and start driving around a ruin wall while the boss finishes forming, so he'll be able to get to it if he needs it. He dismounts and peers around the wall, then chucks a grenade at the CYBORG BONE GOLEM. "I'VE NEVER FOUGHT WITH A PARTY BEFORE!" he shouts over the chaos. "IS SOMEBODY GONNA TANK OR WHAT?"
- Frederica (73) has posed:
"WHAT the..."
At the sound of one hell of a machine gun opening up, Frika flinches away, looking for the nearest cover. It takes a moment to realize the gun's not spitting bullets at them. It's coming from the ruins somewhere. She's about to react to that when all hell breaks loose.
"... is THAT?" she finishes. A word might have been lost in all the noise. Still, she's got quick reactions. Very quick. Her hand was already on her launcher, thanks to the machine gun. And the golem, well, it's a big target. There's not much need to aim. She tilts the launcher, takes a moment to sight, then 'FOOP'. The launcher lets out a hollow sound, and an explosion blossoms downrange. Probably right around the legs or center of mass.
Frika's already running for cover, and digging another grenade cylinder out of her ammo belt to feed into the single-shot launcher.
- Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
A very angry redhead slides up next to Staren, an HK 416 cocked and ready as Alexis Maaka, player name 'ALice Russo', aims towards the scrap-zombies. "Cover coming right up, you spoiled git!" She yells, firing a 40mm round from her rifle's underslung grenade launcher. The round has an energy property intended for use in PVE, helpfully enough. It should be able to soften these things up as she finishes them off with a few bursts of rifle fire.
"Party combat ain't that different from fighting for real with a team, kid." She says, blind-firing a burst as she grabs Staren's shoulder. "Stay with me and don't get yourself shot, savy?" The cyborg then ejects her magazine from the rifle, slamming a new one in as she fires away once more.
- Iria (215) has posed:
Before Iria gets her answer, the noises that everyone else is paying attention to get Iria's attention as well. She looks and goes wide-eyed for a moment. "Aw, dammit!" Iria curses as she looks around for cover, finding something and diving for cover behind it. "Looks like PKers are the least of my worries today," Iria mutters to herself with a scowl. "Good thing I came prepared."
After a moment, Iria pops out with her assault rifle equipped. "You picked the wrong players to mess with!" Iria yells as she opens fire.
- Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe says "Giving someone a ride really? Kirito seriously your too nice some time. I figure that's the idea I'm sure some of them won't want to lose their gear and might try to surrender. We should have something watch the local re spawn points to camp them if we have to."
Okay she's not fooling around given what a jerk thing that is to do but they need the information. She looks to Agil and smirks.
"If this wasn't such an op I'd invite her to join us. I hear she's good enough she could have run with us back in the day."
She cuts off as a World Boss spawns, she swears violently rapidly in both English and shockingly good German.
"Tank! Now! Pull it's agro, DPS let the tank get threat then lay into it, healing keep the tank up over us DPS but do what you can."
She's got her pistol out first? Why the damage dot from the dirty rounds she's going to empty the clip from the pistol into the boss, then switch to her shotgun,s he's glad she loaded slug rounds. She then starts moving using the urban environment like it's a jungle gym. She's flipping, she's almost seeming to fly about using her avatar's inhuman agility to get around and get off shots when she has openings. She's also oddly happy, this was the sort of insane stuff she found fun.
For a moment all the crazy stuff in her life fades away she's just Eisen, one of the few souls willing to try and clear out the wastelands to reclaim earth for humanity. She in the air more at this point more than she's on the ground she's certainly got a pretty insane agility stat. Someone like this whose not made a name for themselves might get Sinons or Dyne's crew attention as she's bouncing about like this.
- Kirito has posed:
Kirito makes another face. "PKers aren't murderers." he states simply. "Just people who like roleplaying bad guys and criminals... or less fancy than that, jerks. They'd not want anything to do with someone who kills in reality! ... but they might know something. Even if we had to beat them around a little---"
AND THEN LIGHTNING.
The androgynous boy whips around in place to face the spawn... sweatdropping.
"You're kidding me, right?!"
What the HELL IS THIS?!
"Everyone, battle formation!" He's not sure what the heck his own role is besides 'DPS' at the moment, so he leaps up onto a rock outcropping to observe the thing for the moment and unholsters his weapons...
- Agil (656) has posed:
The machine gun fire in the distance doesn't concern Agil all that much. It happens. Just be glad they're not shooting at you... Unless you're really into PVP or something. Anyway...
It's the shaking ground that really draws the large man's attention. He suddenly gets super serious as he turns in the direction of the source of that disturbance... A World Boss.
Agil returns the revolver cylinder in his launcher back into place, "Looks like we've got some unscheduled interference." Agil is suddenly running, making a dash down an alley to find a better position to fire from. He then dashes around a wall to come face to face with the large mechanical monster. He raises his launcher and starts firing off the large rounds, shouting, "Over here you ugly sonuva-" KABOOMKABOOMKABOOM, the explosive shells light up the large creature as they do what they do best, explode.
- Reker (631) has posed:
The sudden arrival of the worldboss is not something Reker was expecting. He's still pretty quick to react to the sudden arrival of the boss, however, and he scrambles away from the spawn as quick as he can.
He's quick to sling the assault rifle, it won't do enough damage to this thing, as he busts out his grenade launcher from the inventory. Checking which type of grenades he has loaded, he seems satisfied, moving to cover nearby and firing a shot at the world boss.
He can hear the machine gun fire going on nearby, but it's not really a huge concern to him at the moment, considering the biggest threat to his team is right in front of them.
- Amalthea (395) has posed:
The ceaseless chatter of the old German heavy machinegun, means the behemoth's focus is pretty set. All of the heavy gunner's focus is on the squad of PKers, unleashing a leathal stream of fire, stopping only momentarily. With the CHAK-CHAK of loading another belt of ammo into the MG42 with a suitably dramatic flourish, the fire renews.
Until the field suddenly gets a lot more crowded.
For one, the arrival of another guild-- the Gatecrashers, suddenly charging in gets the hooded figure's head turning, a mild look of bewildered surprise flickering in the lone eye under the shadow of the cowl. But there's little time to actually STOP when alerts go off and a WORLD BOSS spawns in.
"..."
Mildly problematic.
The cloaked bulk however maintains focus, ignoring the cybernetic beast and continuing to doggedly focus that ruinous fire-- on people.
Specifically the blur of green with that heavy sniper rifle, in plain sight of everyone.
- Arthur Lowell has posed:
Arthur had already been heading down off the plateau when the massive creature spawned. He breaks from a quick jog into a MAD DASH! He hears gunfire elsewhere, so he figures if that's anything, it's probably the PKer group, or at least something vaguely associated with it, otherwise it'd be pew-pews! But he's got OTHER BUSINESS to address. He figures if it'd be really important for anyone to split off, they will. Arthur himself just wants to get in a fight with the biggest, baddest thing he can.
JET BOOTS. Those are a bit more appropriate for the locale, even if they're not entirely. They flare to life! Frederica, Staren, Maaka, Agil, and Reker all immediately open with grenades. As he begins to leap into the air and blast around, he follows up with Tomoe. Arthur darts between explosions before they go off, wielding a pair of LASER HANDBROOMS that go off in huge spurts of close-range photonic damage, one in each hand. He's expertly tracked every line of fire for these grenades, and he comes in trying to dart around the boss closely, firing at point-blank at the location where each is likely to impact or make the most explosive damage! And he makes sure to stay on the opposite side from Tomoe, to keep the massive creature encircled. Unfortunately, this puts him at very close range with the creature!
As is the norm for Arthur Lowell, he spends his entire approach and attack screaming like a shounen madman, and yelling really offensive things about skeletons.
- Sinon (649) has posed:
There's a moment of disorder as the raid kind of goes off the rails in the most spectacular way possible.
Grenades may be effective in Midgar, but just tossing one at Hunchbone is going to be a lot less effective than getting one jammed in a particular weak spot, and you haven't raised his break meter enough to even expose one of those yet, player! As such, it's enough to give the others some time to get their wits about them and not much else. Frederica's got a better idea- against people or robots centre of mass is always a pretty good idea, causing it to rattle loudly. Iria, Reker and Agil add to the initial volley, and it's a big enough target that they're going to be able to nail it head on.
But a boss like this is going to come with trash mobs, and panels- ones which the dual round of explosive attacks actually kinda shook open, removing the rust that had closed them shut- open up on its body to reveal an assortment of- rusty though they are- combat drones with spherical bodies and small jet engines to give people additional problems. Alexis has a head start on attacking them but you're going to need to diversify your options. Arthur, fortunately, manages to keep some of those panels cut off, which could be helpful-
Fortunately, Tomoe ne Eisen is moving so quickly and agilely that the golem proper can't keep up with her. Unfortunately, what that means is that it decides that the best course of action, combined with the large number of players moving around it, is that it's going to have to start to making life just as difficult for them as they're trying to make for it.
It raises its arms in the air and begins to smash the buildings around it, swiping huge pieces of masonry and rebar off of the ruins and raining it down onto the Gatecrashers.
Sinon is not, however, concentrating on any of the rampage. She's got an objective- one which Kirito might actually see, as he could notice the firefight happening as well. Question is, how long before these two firefights converge?
Sinon tries- from behind a defensible enough area- to give her group of (PKers?) orders for how to deal with Amalie under pressure. She can't get into a good position to snipe anywhere near as effectively as she could now, and so she hastily tries to give instructions, but-
"This is too much for me to handle!" "If you're going to play, then at least die facing gunpoint! Have the fucking balls to give me an opening!"
The PKers fan out into two groups as Amalie tries to hunt for Sinon! The game is afoot!
- Frederica (73) has posed:
The pounding of explosions and the pounding of adrenaline kick off a combat high in Frika. She always enjoyed the rush of high-speed and carefree combat in ALO, but this adds fire and explosions to the mix! Her shriek is one of mingled fear and delight as the giant monster shatters buildings not at all far from where she crouches. Hunching low, rocks and chunks of brick cascade around her as she works her weapon. Grenade in the breach, launcher closed... *chak* and weapon ready once again!
She charges out of cover. Nowhere near as quick as she would be in Cait Sith form, she still has her reflexes to rely on. The open, such as it is around here, isn't that unsafe for her. Especially compared to the cover which is rapidly being compromised by the monstrous boss's swings.
She doesn't see any openings on the boss, but there's plenty of trash mobs around that are easy targets. Threats too, actually. She continues moving, continues to dodge, until she spots a group of drones coming together. "Fire in the hole!" she shrieks, lowering the barrel of her launcher and firing in almost the same motion, launching her grenade more or less in an accurate arc into the small mass of enemies. And possibly near a friend or two, who knows? The only person she's actually being careful to avoid is Arthur Lowell, due to him being here in the flesh. Anyone else, if she happens to deplete a few percent of their health while wiping out several drones, what of it? It's not like it'll actually HURT or anything.
- Staren has posed:
Ooh, an HK416! Staren would be impressed if he were from 2013 rather than 2403... but all the PvP weapons here seem so far behind his time.
No tanks or aggro mechanics. Fight as you would in real life...
If this were for real, if he were fighting some rogue techno-wizard creation in the ruins of Tolkeen... He'd have his armor. He'd have tons of tools. He'd have a party of superhuman allies, probably including at least one magician. Even if he were alone, he's a /walking arsenal/ with his armor and various energy weapons, missiles, and magic tools.
In this world... heavy weapons are expensive. They are in real life, too, but he doesn't have the same resources here. He has light armor, light (but high-quality) weapons, and some tools. For the most part, he's soloed monsters by exploiting limited AI and dragging things out with careful firefights, chipping away at their HP until they die. Or occasionally sneaking around fights. He's never had to fight something like this though!
The boss looses drones. "I'll try to take care of some of these drones!" Staren calls, shooting some out of the sky.
And then the CYBORG BONE GOLEM raises its arms to smash everything. "OH SHIT!" Staren dives for cover at the last second, too late to get in his vehicle and ride it to safety. He just... tries to flee to the edge of where the debris is raining down, then resume shooting drones and taking potshots at the boss.
- Tomoe has posed:
Eisen is very glad to have the back up of someone like Arthur, she's got a plan but she's got to get a chance to get in close. However she's going to need to take some time. She keeps moving however as best she can, as holy crow the thing's going into cover denial mode pretty hard. Seriously she's not sure she wants to salute the devs or punch them.
She keeps moving doing what she can with the shotgun to keep for cover, damn it she needs a moment to be able to swap to her PVE /weapon/ but that would leave her still and vulnerable to this thing. So she's going to have to try something else, Kirito knows she's got a knife a very nasty one as far they go across the small of her back but she may or may not have picked up something else. She mostly did because she's a fan of the setting the weapon was a ref to, however? She forms an idea. She's forced to keep moving and never stop this mean she's shooting less but is avoiding going squish. Frederica moves quickly and makes her move to hopefully aid Arthur with some well placed grenades. She keeps shooting trying to range her slug's shots when she can for the thing's head. Still for all this chaos it is a game to her right now and my god it's fun. She's got a grin on her face as she's pushing her avatar as hard and fast as it can go.
She however needs some more time to pull off this plan so away she goes. This is the sort of reason why she played games like this with her dad.
- Iria (215) has posed:
Iria ducks for cover to reload, then sees what the golem is doing, and her eyes go wide again. "Damn it, no!" She yells as she gets up and quickly runs away from the falling debris, trying to keep from getting crushed out there. Once she clears the danger zone, she finishes reloading for real.
Then she spies the drones that are coming, and Iria can only shake her head. "Great, more targets. Oh well!" She says as she tries to shoot down some of the drones, unaware of the PKers that have arrived.
- Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
"Aw hell." Alexis growls for a moment as she runs like hell, leaping from the edge of the debris shower as she makes some parting shots towards the CYBORG BONE GOLEM THING. Her aim shifts towards the drones for a moment when she leaps behind cover once more, and pot shots are taken with her laser pistol sidearm to drop them out of the sky.
Once more she aims back at the golem, throwing another energy grenade before she takes potshots with her laser pistol.
- Agil (656) has posed:
Agil ducks around behind a wall as he unleashes the last of the grenades in his launcher. He noticed that the boss seems to be taking the standard explosives fairly well. Maybe shaking it up a little...
The building ruin that Agil is hiding behind suddenly crumbles at the impact from the boss. Agil is forced to dive away from falling debris. He makes a mad dash to move behind a vehicle wreck, where he starts to load his launcher with more grenades, though this time with different markings, "Alright you shambling wreck, let's see how you like the taste of anti-tank rounds!"
Agil's M32 clunks as he moves the cylinder back into place. He then rises up from behind the wrecked vehicle and fires more rounds at the World Boss, this time with less KABOOM and more STREAMOFMOLTENMETAL.
- Amalthea (395) has posed:
Between the Gatecrashers, a World Boss, and the PKers, the hooded figure is having some form of nightmare. But as Dyne's men split up, and the firefights all meld into one chaotic mess, the dark hooded figure's focus falters. The pattering chatter of return fire connects- and spangs off a solid embankment of cover that was NOT there a moment ago.
It might look oddly familiar. the way it holds the solid black bulk of a heavy ballistic shield and braces the MG42 on the upper lip of the solid metal slab.
Now after a preliminary spray and forget hosing of bullets at Dyne's men, does the gunner turn her attention to the BOSS.
A tugging YANK rips the heavy cloak free, letting it toss on the wind as a long braided ponytail is loosed to reveal...
It's that goddamn eyepatche wearing maid.
"Ah... Funny meeting you all here, non?"
The PKers take the backseat to her assault now as she focuses that endless stream of heavy machinegun fire at the cyborg beast, keeping her shield between her and return fire.
- Kirito has posed:
With no idea of what the boss can do aside from unleash drones, Kirito decides to focus on them to start with. He's not a good shot though, there's just no way he'll be shooting them out of the sky. So instead he leaps! Up and around, left and right. his beam saber snap-hiss-sizzles through the air as he flips around again and again with all kinds of acrobatic flair!
Unfortunately for him, this makes him a target. The drones open fire on him when he's in midair! He reacts quickly - interposing the beam saber with just the right timing...
VWWWWWHM! He simply deflects most of the fire with the beam saber, taking a half-dozen minor shots to the arms and legs before he lands and kicks backwards at high speed.
"This is crazy, there's another group nearby!"
And from the few glimpses he saw, THINGS BE CRAZY over there.
When he stops skidding he's right next to Agil however. The Black Swordsman twirls his lightsaber threateningly at the boss before asiding to Agil, "Heavy weapons guy through and through! Good to be fighting together again!"
- Reker (631) has posed:
This thing's armor is too thick for grenades, it seems. Reker wishes he'd brought something with a little more kick to it. It seems like Agil did, though, so Reker was about to switch back to his assault rifle, but talk on the radio suddenly reminded him.
Sprinting from the cover he had been in, Reker slides behind cover nearby and pulls open his menu. Digging through, he tries to find the item that he hasn't used in a very long while. He hasn't been doing PvE stuff in a long while, so it might take him a bit to dig it up. He's asking the team to cover him for a little bit.
- Sinon (649) has posed:
Sinon may have gotten the impression by now that Amalie is more interested in shooting her than she necessarily is in doing this for the sake of defending the monster hunters. Perhaps, even, she is beginning to think that this is someone like me, that they are so determined to shoot the other because of a mutual interest in the other's strength.
The rampaging golem worldboss is making this all very difficult, though. It's funny- were the two of them not so determined to kill each other they'd probably be better off teaming up. But hey, this isn't like this is a world with consequences, right? As Frederica is sort of displaying by example, sure you might lose your equipment, but not your life.
This is why Sinon doesn't pay any attention to the golem, even as masonry and machinery rain around her. And explosions, for that matter.
Drones go up in chain reactions and conflict reactions are mixed. Some members of the raid, like Staren, get out of the way, contributing with potshots and support fire. Incidentally Staren may find himself occupying a piece of cover with another one of the players not part of the gatecrasher group, who gives him a sort of 'fancy meeting you here' expression amidst all of the mayhem.
It's Tomoe, laying grenades to take the golem off balance, that lets Sinon do her next trick, moving like a blue and green blur across the field of play. And Amalie's decided that she's going to take time off to-- wow what the heck, that's some kind of meido RPer with a.. an eyepatch and a riot shield? What on earth is going on.
But the fast-moving girl disappears again, and it's time to concentrate on the big monster again. When the debris settles, you can either take your pick between the drones- who are firing bullets through the dust clouds- or the big golem. Not that those bullets are a problem for someone like Kirito, keeping them off of his allies. Iria picks the drones and Alexis picks the golem, the former picking up on Frika's lead and the latter on Tomoe's.
Meanwhile, Sinon is climbing a staircase.
(Kill her. Have to kill her... then, I too, will be able to smile like she can-)Oo
What this means is that the first wave of drones is going to get quite thinned out in this fire round, leaving few behind. And the golem? Well, in clear defiance of the fact that it's been lying there for ages with its weapons rusting, its clawed fingers fan open creating eight - count 'em, eight- laserguns. These are the sort which fire continuous beams, which can fry a grenade before it even hits- it's learning from the repeated attacks, it seems?! Agil's going to be able to get in a good hit on one leg, staggering it, but those fingers are very flexible, moving in every direction!
A big old shield like Amalie's might not even be able to stand up to-
"The end!"
Oh, wait, never mind. You can't see the bullet line from this- another thunderous sniper round from atop a buildin- how did she even GET UP THAT HIGH?
- Arthur Lowell has posed:
GIANT BUILDING FIGHTS
Arthur is slammed in the face by one massive chunks of masonry, bruising and bloodying him and smashing him brutally into a nearby building.. Whole buildings and chunks of larger structure are beginning to destabilize, likely. As he rushes through collapsing buildings, crashing through walls, over aged furniture, or leaping over and through gaps, he'll move any drones swarming to him to a cluster behind him, for Frederica to explosively disperse as he passes through her line of fire!
Hopefully having dealt with the drones for now, he continues a mad dash, winding up near Staren. Launching up off the ground, he bounces off of massive masonry headed his way, attempting to both rapidly make it easier to dodge and rapidly make it more difficult to target him. And then he's turning right back around! He moves to intercept any drones that might give Riker a hard time, then works his approach around Amelie's, Agil's, and Maaka's stream of fire on the thing.
He goes right for the DRONE BAYS! A laser cuts by him, and clips him on the leg, causing a sudden blistering heat and heavy impact and detonating one of his jet-boots, but he charges in regardless! He's going to try to crash right INTO one, where the drones were previously being launched, and start tearing his way towards any IMPORTANT JOINT MECHANISMS he can! AS such, instead of his TWIN BROOMGUNS, he's swapped to his BATTLE-BROOM, a large metal two-handed broom, with BLENDER BRISTLES at the end that roar to life! He's trying to exploit the gap in the armor to go for the shoulders and disable one of those arms by essentially brutally digging his way through, if he can. Sparks flying, lots of ripping and tearing of robo-guts! And, of course, as always, more and more screaming from the bloodied, bruised, burned boy, who is giving a rising cry of effort!
- Staren has posed:
"Arthur? How are..." Staren starts to ask, and then there's some random guy there. Staren just shrugs back to them. As long as they aren't interfering with the boss fight... It just doesn't seem like the time to interrogate about Death Gun.
The drones have dust for cover, but their targeting lines make the attack no surprise. Staren just pops back behind cover whenever a Line targets him. Whenever he sees a drone, or the boss, he fires at it with the laser.
Finally, he realizes something worth saying to the other player. "Have you fought this thing before? Any tips?"
- Frederica (73) has posed:
Now that she's out in the open, Frika doesn't really have a chance to reload her single-shot grenade launcher. That leaves her with either her grenades or her sidearm - an energy-based SMG. For a moment, but only for a moment, she considers the grenades. She's already seen how ineffective they are however, at least against something as tough as a worldboss. So instead she switches out weapons and begins trying to cut a path towards freedom or at least cover.
The problem is, Frika has little experience with guns, in-game or otherwise. Her remarkably good accuracy with the grenade launcher doesn't automatically translate into good accuracy with a SMG; the result being that she sprays shots into and around one of the few remaining drones as she charges, trying to get away and to a point where she can safely reload her primary weapon.
She can only hope that she's quick enough. Frika would be quick enough... the Cait Sith at least. Frika the Grenade Girl Online however, she's purely human and not very highly-statted either. She'll probably take laserbeams before she reaches cover. If she's REALLY lucky though, or her reactions fast enough, she might get half a chance of dodging. She doesn't have Kirito's ludicrous reaction speed, but she's still fast enough to dodge bullets in this game... if not lasers.
- Amalthea (395) has posed:
Having slid from the mindset of killing off the PKers to assist her fellow guildies with the boss, Amalie's focus is fairly intently on unloading her MG42 at hunchbone. Covering Arthur's usual wild and amazingly hot blooded and reckless approach with Agil and Maaka, by flooding the air with a stream of bullets.
She's already lost Sinon in the ensuing chaos. By the time the sniper has her shot lined up, it's too late.
'The end?'
"Hn?" Still with that gun-toting smirk plastered on her face, the RPng ROBOT MAID glances upwards.
Her shield isn't going to be able to come up in time, with the weight in her hands.
"Ah..."
Immediately her attention is off the boss, swinging that heavy machinegun upwards to try and batter the sniper's new position with a ceaseless barrage of fire. Except...
Click.
At the most inopportune time, it runs dry. Amalie's grin falters into a state somewhere between a rictus and a scowl as that shot rings out.
The impact is jarring, but she takes it standing, face still plastered with that snarling smile, the red glow of an impact mark burning angrily on her forehead as her HP DROPS precipitously.
Funny how her voice sounds to different as her RP wall drops in a moment of disbelieving, un-maidly, fury.
"MotherFUC--"
HP: 0
A flare of red light and the maid is reduced to an explosion of pixels.
- Iria (215) has posed:
Up until now, Iria's only issue was with those drones. She was trying to help out as best as she could, until Amalie got shot by the sniper and went down. Iria's eyes went wider than usual and she glared in the general direction of where the sniper's shot came from. Then a scowl like no other appeared on her face.
"You son of a bitch!"
Iria grabbed her rifle and aimed it in the general direction of where the sniper's gunfire game from. "You're gonna pay for what you did to my ally!" Even if it's just a game, Iria still hates seeing her friends go down as she opens fire.
- Tomoe has posed:
Eisen sees Iria making her move, she pays attention to Alexis as she starts chucking grenades, Agil is using the heavy weaponry here as he brings out the anti tank weapons. In someways this was a lucky hit if the story of what happens gets out, it will /get/ attention. A PVP group caught flat footed by a PVE world boss and they took it down? That would be forum worthy for sure.
"Another group!? They might try to gank us be ready!"
She then does hope the party that's also out there is more focused on taking the thing down. It seems someone else is making shots however.
There is something hanging from her combat webbing, wait is that a plasma sabre? Yes it is, Eisen shoulder her shotgun and takes the beam weapon in hand, it snap hisses to life as she does another leap for the beast she's going to try to land on the Golem's head/back and if she can do that she's gong to drive the blade into the things head, leaving it there should continue to do damage if it doesn't out right die from the damage of.
"BONZAI!!!"
She yells and she'll flip away no matter what happens landing on part of a ruined building and is going for the shotgun again. AT that moment their beloved maid pal is /ganked/. So she was right, they are going to have to go find that vulture and rip them to /bits/ least they think about tyring this again, also doing this might get the more notice. No she has no idea it's one of the game's big dogs hunting them.
- Agil (656) has posed:
"Hahaha, you don't know the half of it." Agil gives Kirito a grin, before he's up and dashing.
With the weight of his equipment, Agil isn't very fast. But thankfully his heavy duty shielding and armor make up for it. One of the boss's lasers rakes across him, his shield greatly reducing the damage. A couple of bullets from the drones impact Agil, leaving red marks, but the actual damage loss is minimal.
Finally Agil disappears into a nearby ruined building, making his way towards the stairs. Unlike Sinon though, he's not going too high. He hears the nearby sniper shot, as well as the news of Amalie's downing... Who was she again?
Coming out on the third floor, Agil rushes up to the broken windows and ducks in behind a pillar. He fiddles around with his inventory a little, letting his grenade launcher hang while he brings out something else. Someone reminded him that he had it and this seems like a good opportunity to use it!
The long cylinder appears in Agil's hand. He extends out the extension, flipping the sight up before he shoulders the weapon and spins out from cover. Looking down the crosshair, Agil aims the M72 LAW at the head of the cyborg golem and smirks, "Smile!" He pulls the trigger, a plume of exhaust blasting out the back of the weapon as the anti-tank rocket speeds forth from the front, streaking towards the World Boss.
- Reker (631) has posed:
It seems Reker finally found what he was looking for. Something he hasn't really used since he got the SOCOM. Hell the last time he used it /was/ when he got the SOCOM. Not much need for anti-monster weapons when he mostly does PvP.
The weapon materializes into his hands, and boy does it look heavy. A massive silvery tube, the weapon gleams in the light of the firefight, as he steps out from behind his cover and drops to a knee, squeezing the trigger and causing a bright red energy to begin to collect at the front of the weapon. A smaller laser shows him where he's targeting, as he aims center mass on the world boss.
"Hey big guy, I got a present for ya!" Reker feels the weapon reach full charge, and releases the trigger, sending the massive beam of red death at the monster. This weapon is highly impractical for use against players, but it's well worth the price if you're going to try to take down bosses.
- Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
Clearly shooting a shitload of bullets isn't doing anything useful here, not against the boss that is. Thus, Alexis growls in annoyance before she swaps back to her AR. "Fuck this." She slides out of cover, running fast as she can as she blasts at the mook enemies idly in the middle of some nifty free-running motions.
Approaching the boss, Alexis then begins to do something one might consider very, very ballsy. But at the same time, they might consider it stupid as hell.
She makes a leap onto the boss, provided game mechanics can allow that sort of thing while it's being flanked by her buddies, then fires away at it close range with her laser pistol at anything that might look like a weak point, just like she would against a mech in real life, generally.
- Kirito has posed:
&* GOLEM *
ARTHUR:
SUCCESS! Of course, the broom blender doesn't draw any chunks of flying metal and wiring. As the damage mounts, several ports explode into gleaming voxels and are replaced with slag textures. Gambit success!
Unfortunately for him EXPLOSIONS follow as drones trying to escape are shredded by the slagged ports. Bad for him, bad for the Golem, bad for everyone. It takes ADDITIONAL damage from this and limps to one side briefly before recovering. Sparks fly from the ports now... but there's still some more left on the other side!
STAREN:
The blasts splash against Drones. they go down easily! The boss, however... he's just plinking it. Gonna have to take more solid aim than that!
TOMOE:
The blade cuts deep into the thing, which her athletics have no trouble mounting. A neat quirk of photon sabers: They do a LOT of damage. Unrealistic, unbalanced amounts of damage. Getting up close and personal to use them isn't supposed to be possible. This is TOTALLY unfair! The bosses' HP just starts PLUMMETING.
AGIL: Just as Tomoe's already got the bosses' HP going way down, ROCKETS. The rocket smashes hard into the OTHER side of the creature, slagging several ports.
REKER:
And then Reker's DEATH RAY scorches the Golem's legs, leaving it limping and creaking and groaning from servos that refuse to budge.
ALEXIS MAAKA:
Alexis can indeed mount the boss! It's not expecting that, and the point-blank shots hit it in weak spots easily - joints.
But uh-oh. It's still got a wee bit of health left.
Almost predictably, its eyes shine RED!
The thunderous groan of rocket boosters firing washes over everyone with deafening force. UP the thing goes, supported on jump jets! It enters a rapid spin... just as more ports open on its back. Short-range guided missiles fire by the dozens into the sky and begin to arc back down at everyone. EVERYONE. (Considering Tomoe and Alexis might be on it still, this won't work well for the Golem either.)
Making matters worse, the spinning isn't apparently to shake anyone off.
THICK, SOLID LASER BEAMS sweep every which way from its eyes. What will you do? Remain behind cover and risk the missiles? Leave cover and get laser'd?
Freaking desperation attacks!
- Sinon (649) has posed:
Sinon shoots, Amalie falls. One shot, one kill. As it should be. Clean and easy. Sinon got a little stronger today, moving through this storm of mayhem and taking out an incredibly strong player. She feels good about it.
One problem with doing this sort of thing with so many other people around- although your target can't see the bullet line, players can figure out where you shot from after the fact.
Therefore, although Sinon manages to show Amalie why she's called the goddess of the underworld, Iria takes issue with the fee that's being asked. A generalized spray of fire shatters what glass remains in the windows around her, she wasn't actually expecting this-
And even Sinon's surprised when Dyne shows up to clock Iria, emboldened by the display.
"Hey! Quit fighting PVP! Don't you wanna get involved in taking down that huge thing?"
Oh Dyne, you sneaky bastich.
Sinon does not look down on what's going on, instead taking the chance to reposition herself again and maybe instinctively brush glass out of her hair- and there will be a lot of it when a missile goes flying towards the building, causing her to make sure it's not going to collapse-
OK, that's that taken care of. Of course, she's not going to be able to come down safely unless the world boss is taken out. She also knows that she's not going to be able to come down safely unless she incurs a little good karma, so...
"This is all so complicated."
Five more bullets. Reload, re-aim... and through her sight she spots... huh, that's Kirito. What a strange coincidence. But rather than shoot at him, she goes for the golem instead. Did you know an anti-materiel rifle can penetrate through buildings it's so strong?
- Frederica (73) has posed:
Frika, for one, was already heading for cover. She's not about to reload on the open ground when a boss with LASER BEAMS is in full view. Fortunately for her she's able to reach protection before the thing rises up and starts shooting the shit out of everything. UNfortunately for her, she'll still have rockets to deal with.
Reloading goes quickly enough. One more shot. She can hear, and when she peeks out she can see, how the boss has gone into final DEATHMODE. And then the rockets come. She's behind cover. She MIGHT be able to hunker down and avoid getting murdered by rockets. But... why? What's the point?
"You're not the only one with explosives!" Frika cries out. She knows her weapon's firing arc. She knows the robot's position. It's a huge target, and she's done this sort of thing for years. Not with grenade launchers, but with columns of fiery destruction. She can't NOT hit. *FWOOMP* comes the hollow ringing sound of the grenade leaving the barrel. The grenade arcing out over the wall, up and into the boss.
She'll probably be blown to pieces by the rockets. Her armour's too light to provide much protection. But so what? What's really at stake here? It's a game, and this giant bitch isn't Death Gun. She just hopes she 'lives' long enough to see the really big explosion.
- Iria (215) has posed:
Iria's caught off-guard by Dyne, and is clocked by them without even realizing what's happened until after she recovers from the blow. Unfortunately, being hit like that hurts pretty badly, and when Iria's the victim of a cheap shot, she really loses her temper. Not to mention her assault rifle is dropped as well, but Iria doesn't matter. If Dyne wants to fight up close and personal, Iria's willing to do that.
"You cheap-assed son of a bitch!" Iria screams, attempting to retaliate for what happened with a solid left hook. There may be a boss there, but Iria's too angry to think about that now.
- Staren has posed:
Staren's doing plink damage to the boss. Hmm. He guesses he has to hit it in its WEAK POINTS for MASSIVE DAMAGE.
Other people have that covered, though! The CYBORG GOLEM hits desperation mode and TAKES TO THE FREAKING SKY... Staren tries to shoot at the drone ports and watches it, waiting for something like a weak point to be be exposed... but then, MISSILES! Staren tries to line up shots, then realizes shooting them all down may well be impossible, even /if/ he'd had computer assistance...
So instead he grabs one of the grenades off his belt and just drops it on the ground next to him.
*FSHHHHHHHHHH*
Hot smoke, meant to obscure vision /and/ infrared goggles. Hopefully, it will confuse the missile tracking system too! He then hits the deck, diving to the ground nearby under cover of the smoke, and hopes that the blast damage isn't too bad!
- Agil (656) has posed:
Agil lets the expended rocket launcher drop to the ground. Only one shot, unfortunately. Though it does seem to have done some good... Still, that thing remains rampaging, even worse now that it's switched over to the next stage.
Agil watches as the lasers lance out from the boss, raking over everything. He's relatively safe from them inside the building where he is... Unfortunately the missiles are another matter. Watching the homing weapons launch, Agil grimaces, "Oh man, this is gonna hurt..." Then he grins, "But it's gonna be awesome." As some of the missiles curve over and begin to head towards him, Agil takes a few steps back... And then starts running towards the broken windows and the boss beyond.
The missiles fly into the building, exploding behind Agil as he throws himself out the window and into the air with a cry. The blast waves smashes into Agil's back, ripping through part of the outer layer of cloth and into the armor plate beneath. It also sends him flying forward at a greater rate, right towards the cyborg golem.
Agil smashes into the side of the large mechanical best, bouncing across it before his hand darts out to grab hold. Halting his progress, Agil hangs onto the spinning machine, back still smoking from the near brush with the missiles.
As he struggles to hold on, Agil uses his other hand to reach into one of the small pouches on his waist. He then pulls out what looks like a small brown brick-shaped object. He jams it into a break in the cyborg's armour, followed by another two identical ones, the last having a small device stuck in it.
Agil's grip finally gives and he is thrown off, sent flying through the air before hitting the ground and rolling aross it. Coming to a hard stop up against a piece of debris, Agil pushes himself up into a sitting position. Reaching into one final pouch, Agil grins and pulls out the small remote detonator. Looking up at the rampaging golem, he says, "Goodbye." Agil flips open the switch top and presses the button beneath.
The remote receiver beeps and the three blocks of plastic explosive light up a good portion of the World Boss and surrounding area.
- Arthur Lowell has posed:
NOT GONNA MOVE. NOPE. Even while the creature begins to LEAP into the air and spin like a maniac, Arthur grabs one side of the port and refuses to let go. He lodges himself in the port and keeps going. Voxels are gushing around him and explosions are beating against him, which means his body is being blistered and bruised by the traumatic impact of drone shockwaves. "HAHAHAHA YES!" The grinding reaches a fever-pitch. "C'MON! MORE EXPLOSIONS! MORE BURNING! Let's see what this fuckin' GAME can DO!" As he continues sitting in that lodged slot, buffeted by the gushing fire, he tries to force the damage up, push through the horrible golem's physical structure, and burrow towards the spine of the thing, where he's guessing the simulation of the game would have power regulation for those eyes..
He flips open a panel on his BATTLEBROOM, punches in a twelve-digit code, and jams his finger down on one of the harsher settings, forcing the broom to outrageous levels of power. He activates the CRUSH BONES blender setting!
