- Homura Akemi (2) has posed:
As ever, when large periods of time pass without visiting the Homeworld's Green Wing, Homura manages to stockpile ludicrous amounts of Chromatic Resonance and never actually spends it. She is going to remedy that right now and dump a chunk of that into upgrading the Homeworld itself.
It is why she is here now, accessing the consoles of the Green Wing to see the current state of the Homeworld and what would benefit best from an injection of Resonance.
- Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Firmware's been updated on the Homeworld since Homura last got here, it seems! The hologram-projecting table projects the layout of the Homeworld clearly, and offers the option to dump resonance as Homura sees fit!
- Homura Akemi (2) has posed:
"Black door? What black door?" Homura asks Eleanor, evidently absorbed by the console right now. If in doubt, let someone explain and claim you knew all along.
For the moment, Homura will attempt to upgrade the LOBBY, and then the GREEN WING itself. She isn't sure if she has enough, since this new firmware seems less... inclined to tell you? It's kind of odd. Might as well find out.
- Eleanor Lamb (40) has posed:
Eleanor smiles. "I mean, the black one out in the lobby that says we've only spent 11% of the resonance we need to open it."
The Big Sister is pushing some more resonance into the Blue Wing Today, specifically towards the medical section. "It'd be nice to have a place to properly repair the Abstractum if they get damaged."
- Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Homura's green resonance is more than enough for this job. Looks like if you amp things up to the next level in the lobby. Amping up the lobby to level 4, and the green wing to 5, takes a hefty chunk out of Homura's green resonance, but not all of it. Homura appears to have one hell of a stockpile there, having pushed things to the next level all on her own.
As for the effects this is going to actually have on the area...
- Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
There's a quick flicker, and now everything is different!
The Green Wing is a large, seven-level structure, with the upgrade table on a balcony that the green threshold leads out onto, a balcony that wraps effectively around the entire chamber, just as the upper and lower levels do. In the center is an elaborate fountain that ascends two stories, but that's the extent of the excessive luxury. The base is occupied only by the bar-ish structure, which has taken up one of the walls of the area with its entertainment and drinks dispensery, and spread its tables a bit out around the fountain, but the rest of the lower walls are blank.
The middle sections are storage and furnishings, tables and chairs and suchlike that make for pleasant meetingspace or good materials to move around the rest of the Homeworld and make it comfortable to live in if one chooses, alongside with very large private secure storage spaces available for each Abstractum User. Alongside it, opposite the upgrade table, is the Trading Post, past which is the Room Recycler. The top floor links to a lengthy room that makes up the barracks, with many bunk beds present, while the upper level itself contains kitchen areas and other similar living requirements.
Four sweeping pillars keep the very LARGE wing up, going up through its central open space; its aesthetics are not unlike a particularly vertically-oriented mall. However, all the guardrails feature thick bulletproof glass, all the tables can be quickly converted to cover, and this is an area that can get to the Red Wing immediately; it's VERY defensible. It's gotten moreso with recent upgrades sectioning off the structure into a massive complex, with blocks of internal areas now manned by assorted members of the Legacies of various Users, providing a vast assortment of services and supplies to all those who would ask for them.
- Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Eleanor still has a fairly substantial stockpile of green from her operations in the SEA OF LIFE. However, it appears that previous purchases or trades have cut into that! She can get something like .8 of the way to the next level up, to make it incredibly easy for someone else to push things over the line.
- Homura Akemi (2) has posed:
Having an area change while you're in it is certainly surprising. Homura takes a moment to look around, and then accesses the console again. If she still has SOME green she'll dump it into the Red Wing, then. It probably won't be enough to push what's missing into level 5, but she's curious to see how much further until they unlock the hypothetical final tier of Combo Frames.
Then to Eleanor: "Oh. Right. Well, we'll get to it one day. I'm curious what's behind it. I assume something helpful against Them. Maybe Burden or the Operators know. I'm surprised we never thought to ask."
- Eleanor Lamb (40) has posed:
Eleanor smiles a bit and shrugs. "Well, we'll see eventually. There might be something or it's just... Hell, maybe when we open it They all come spilling in and the Operators are all 'oh we couldn't tell you why did you play God' or whatever."
She does lean over the railing a little bit and sighs. "Sorry, it's been a weird few weeks with Psyber and Nathan and HoH in general."
- Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Looks like Homura had just about enough to amp the Red Wing halfway through. Good progress, at least! Mr. Welcomes' kiosk, nearby, shows him waving at Homura when she mentions asking the Operators. It's a friendly sort!
- Homura Akemi (2) has posed:
"So I hear," Homura answers Eleanor, without going into details. She has little interest in the tirade between Psyber and Nathan, truth told, beyond the fact spending time with Psyber means she kind of hears about it a lot.
She moves over towards the kiosk as Welcomes lets himself known-- she isn't one pointlessly bother the Operators unless it can't wait, but if they say hi first, no remorse.
"Hello Welcomes. How are you?"
Presuming the answer will be a simple and usual one, she'll chain with: "Say, what can you tell us about the barred gate in the lobby?"
- Eleanor Lamb (40) has posed:
Elle sighs at Homura. "I... yes. I have been hearing a lot."
Though as Welcomes perks up, she coughs and quiets herself down, rubbing at her dress a little bit to bow to Welcomes. "I'd like to know that as well, also has The Circus been treating you well? He hasn't been mocking you too much, has he?"
- Kimiko Shinobu (570) has posed:
Kimiko arrives, in the middle of quietly talking to Koishin. "We have one 'dash driver.' The distribution is fine, but... adaptability would help. Do you think we'd be able to use the one driver better if you could change form into... greaves, or something like that?" Does the form even affect the ability or efficiency of the drivers in the first place? If so, abstractum shoes seem like they would help with her occasional mobility issues.
She gives a nod to Homura and Eleanor as she gets near the console. After a quick glance upward, she starts with, "...this looks different."
- Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
"Oh, sure." Welcomes says, with an upbeat tone, to Homura. "That one's easy. It's the Core Node. Enough definition applied through work in the Nodes and you can access the Core Node. We keep it housed in isolation, because it could be /really/ dangerous. But you do enough work in the Nodes and it turns up the Resonance on the Core Node. Get it to 100% or above, and we can manifest Them into the Core Node vessel as safely as possible, for you to take on."
- Eleanor Lamb (40) has posed:
Eleanor blinks. "I was right? I WAS RIGHT. Goodness, well, that's... special. I'd rather not let them all in at once though, that seems... unwise, somehow."
- Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Eleanor gets another similar upbeat grin. "He's a real asshole, but we can consider my cravings killed pretty thoroughly. Don't worry, you're /supposed/ to manifest Them all at once, that's the point. They'll manifest all at once no matter what, this just makes them do it while you have the most possible advantage. Open the door, you get to access the Core Node behind it, and that ought to have a design optimized to be as vulnerable as possible to you all. Simple!"
- Homura Akemi (2) has posed:
Well, it... sounds simple. And it's a straight answer. Homura will take it, because that doesn't happen every day. She nods to Welcomes, and decides to leave the matter for now. It's not even a fifth of the way to opening, they have a lot of time left to question it.
She waves to Kimiko, approaching her instead. "Oh, hello. Yes, I upgraded this room. The lobby as well. Do you think you have enough to push the Red Wing to its next level? I managed to get it halfway but ran out of Resonance."
- Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Kimiko gets a few eager words. "Oh, I can dedicate some more to the Dash if you want, sure. Hmmm... Yeah, I'd probably be a bit faster as greaves, that's on the legs so it makes sense. If you wanna give that a shot, I think we have the red you'd need to do it. We can try that out next, maybe?"
Meanwhile the console still pleasantly displays the Hub's layout and offers to let the group spend arbitrary colorbucks on upgrades.
- Kimiko Shinobu (570) has posed:
Kimiko gives a nod. "Homura." and then goes to look at the console. "Yes, I wanted to see how I could help." She only caught some of that stuff about the final boss room, though now she's getting it over the Users.Net feed. For the moment, she decides not to comment on it, instead looking at the Red Wing on the map. "Well... do we have enough? Let's put whatever we have into that, or at most, until it reaches the next level."
- Eleanor Lamb (40) has posed:
Eleanor lets out a sigh at all of that. "I suppose, still, I'd rather... not take them all on at once like that. It might be... 'efficient' but... that doesn't always make it easier."
Kimiko though gets a smile and a cheery wave. "Hello! Kimiko, I was wondering, I... how much red do you have? We made pretty good partners the other day in Homura's node, and I was wondering if you'd like to engage in a combo frame with Utopia and Koishin?"
- Kimiko Shinobu (570) has posed:
Kimiko turns to look up at Eleanor. She's caught a bit by surprise, thought keeps that largely hidden, per SOP. A combo frame? Her mind flicks back over some recent, Abstractum-related events. "Probably... a lot." She nods. Nn, "Yes, we can do that."
- Eleanor Lamb (40) has posed:
There's a very happy smile from the Big Sister. "Excellent, I think I've got enough Red to make up the difference, if we need it. Though, I haven't seen a combo between a Red and A Blue Type yet, so this will be new."
And then Eleanor's phone buzz buzz buzzes. She flips it open and blinks. "Riva. Interesting. Ah, can you give me a bit on that though, Riva's going to go through Genesis."
- Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Kimiko puts her resonance into the Red Wing! It looks like she has more than enough to deal with the last of it. With Homura doing half, and it already having almost half of its required Resonance, Kimiko can nudge it over fairly easily! Elsewhere, the Red Wing upgrades itself in the middle of its use.
- Kimiko Shinobu (570) has posed:
Kimiko looks up from the console to see Elanor on her phone. She nods again. "I'll meet you in the... Red Wing? In that case."
Back at the panel, she looks at what else might be near upgrading, if she spends what she has left. The medical area? She recalls that being mentioned as mid-upgrade. Let's see if she can't push that over the edge, too.
- Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
It would appear the HEALING AREA was already mostly upgraded, meaning that Kimiko should also have enough for that one! This cuts her Green down a fair bit, but it does apparently indicate some level of Abstractum support alongside the human medical facilities!
- Kimiko Shinobu (570) has posed:
Kimiko steps back from the console with a satisfied look. Two areas upgraded--she was only helping in both cases, but that's all she wanted to do, here. She doesn't have a clear enough idea of what the complex needs to start any new projects on her own initiative. Not yet, anyway.
She'll give a Homura a short wave, then follow Eleanor out of the room. Her destination is the Red Wing, as already mentioned.
