A Quick Job
Date of Scene: 16 September 2015
Location: Southern Urbania
Synopsis: Yari Takane and Fuki seek to end the potential turning of a confederate arms manufacturing business by assassinating a high ranking executive. Blurr is on security detail! Insurance in the area just went up.
Cast of Characters: Fuki, Blurr, 691

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Ronald's Self Defense and Protection is the rather blandly named company that's part of the many such businesses providing arms to the Confederacy. It's not exactly a large business as these things go, but significant enough that the news that one of its financial officers, one James Hart has gotten enough finances and general good will of the board of directors that maybe, just maybe, he could sway the rest into supporting the Union.

Cut to the suburban paradise that is Urbania. The Green Willows is your standard gated community: a small gate, a camera in the front entrance, lots of apartments for a young bachelor like Mister Hart, and your average run-of-the-mill security guards. Yari Takane has already arranged that anyone coming with her be given disguises: there's been a rash of fevers, and quick outside hires were made. Yari's card identifies her as 'Ashley Smith'. She pulls up in a nondescript sedan, shows her id, and they're let in by the clueless security guard.

The apartment complex is fairly straight forward: a road leading straight, and with a bend in the middle to more apartments. Hart's apartment is the one down the bend, the absolutely last one on the ground floor. There's a security system in Hart's apartment, but there's equipment along for the Feds to deal with that if they can find the power to that particular apartment.

Yari drives a bit, but eventually stops. A few cars down the bend, with one parked on the street, she'll look around, and slap a brick of c4 to the underside just in case they need a distraction. Then she's back to driving. There's time enough for anyone else along to prepare.

The Union has the same information. Hart's apartment is fairly standard, with only a room in and out, and a very simple security system installed. How they plan to safeguard the man is up to those called in.

Blurr has posed:
One of those cars parked along the street is Blurr. Admittedly, he kind of stands out in this place. The Autobot certainly doesn't look like your typical Toyota Corolla or something, but could probably be written off as a super expensive custom job belonging to someone incredibly rich. Yari might recognize it from the parking lot of the recent ice cream truck event--it is fairly distinctive.

At any rate, the 'Bots have gained intel from sources in the Union regarding Mr. Hart, and his potential need for extra security. There were security guards here, but it seems there is concern that they might not be enough. Thus, Blurr is here, sweeping the area with his sensor scans every few breems, and this time around he picks up on someone familiar. Oh, well isn't it that woman he saw at the ice cream thing? If it is, he's sure she's unlikely to be up to anything innocent. He keeps his optics focused on her, tracking her movements toward the apartment.

Fuki has posed:
"Is this guy worth it? I've not heard this company before." the Shinki mutters as she hides herself in Yari's outfit somewhere. "But eh, if the Union's trying to off them or buy them out, might as well stop them right?" she smirks slightly, "It's been a while since I've been out and about to do things, especially with another ninja."

Fuki's eyes scan the area briefly before popping back into her hiding spot, letting out small radar pings as she takes a more general wide scan view of the area. "Car... car... car... a few people... nothing major." she mutters, of course, she doesn't seem to register Blurr yet... "Hmm, interesting energy signature there... I'll keep an eye on it." she shakes her head some, "I've got a small army of Maochao and Howling at the ready, I stored them in the trunk. Just give me the word and I'll have them come out and block passage from anyone else."

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
The car looks familiar. Yari actually stares at it as they roll down the street. But /where/? Kinda stylish though. She makes a mental note to get one for herself with that mostly unused Fed paycheck! She does find herself suddenly wanting ice cream though. She'll probably make the connection later.

Thankfully even Yari doesn't detect the autobot, her own scanner more turned towards magic than tech. The duo park just an apartment away from their target, the tiniest trace of her location visible whenever Yari checks her guantlet. It's actually relatively infrequent, so tracking her might be more difficult than usual, between the way she stays so quiet and all but fades into the darkness. She heads around back of this first apartment complex. She notes a wiring box opposite the street. Most apartments are fairly generically modeled, so she assumes the same will be for the next one.

She's all physical stealth, armlet deactivated. Hart isn't magically active, so there's no use. Besides, they know the apartment number. She makes a show of sneaking along, rather casually in the darkness of the small path behind the apartments.

Soon enough, she's at the wirebox near Hart's apartment. If Blurr has tapped into it, that security system of Hart's goes out.

Fuki is riding in Yari's pocket of her security uniform. She reaches in, and pets the little shinki's head.

"That's a good idea. Sending the unlock code for the car. If we run into resistance, I'll blow that car and have the police make a scene. You have them block any entrances. That way it'll only be us and them and Mister Hart."

Moving around the side of the building, there's a window, and of course the front door. Yari pauses.

"You take the front door in case we get company? I'll be too obvious through the front. We might need a quick out that way anyway." Then she's getting to work, using a kunai to force the window open. She'll pause to let Fuki in and then crawl through.

It's a tiny kitchen the two will end up in.

"Keep your sensors moving. No surprises. Any traitor to the Confederacy has to die. And watch that energy signature. No dieing, alright, MIss Fuki?" One more head-pat, and she's making her way towards the bedroom.

Blurr has posed:
Yari is a bit more difficult to track than most, but each of the times she turns on her gauntlet makes it easier for Blurr. The sleek blue car moves quietly away from the curb and trails her slowly as she makes her way toward Hart's apartment. Yep, this is definitely looking like an assassination attempt, he thinks, as she takes out the security systems and breaks into a kitchen window.

Okay, he's got to act quickly! But of course, that's always been his strong point, fortunately enough for Mr. Hart. Scanning the apartment several times in rapid succession and tapping into local wireless signals, Blurr is able to determine that Mr. Hart is in his bedroom. Thus, he activates the holomatter avatar, projecting it into the room. Who cares if Hart is startled by someone suddenly appearing from nowhere, this is a matter of life and death! "Mr. Hart, your life is in danger." he warns, his voice low. "You need to hide, or better yet find an alternate way out. Quick!" He hopes there's at least a lock on the bedroom door; if there is the avatar engages it and stands with its back against the door.

Fuki has posed:
"No dying, indeed." Fuki comments, and a small flash inside that pocket, her armor is equipped and suddenly, she blips off any radars. "Stealth mode activated." she comments, only letting out soft squeaks at the pets... "Yari, a bit of professionalism out on the field please! Save that for when the mission is done."

As the window is opened, Fuki quickly bolts in and dives under the table, clinging to the underside of it with the talon feet. Her hands look like they would be performing ninjitsu but in reality... she's just scanning the rooms. o O (Hmmm...) goes through her mind, nodding just once before dropping to the ground and peeking around the corner. The voice is heard and Fuki frowns, "Nnngh." she mutters quitely, holding up a hand to signal Yari, then a single finger... one person. "This isn't good... someone's already here." a pause, and a look at the front door... it's closed. Quickly, she makes a mad dash towards the couch, diving under it and hopefully, the Avatar is looking forward than down...

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Yari, for her part, blushes.

"A...ah. Of course. Sorry." Fuki might pick up mutterings about 'adorable magitek bots' before the ninja is all business.

A polaroid moment thankfully missed. No cute blackmail for the two.

Mister Hart turns out to be a lean man in his early thirties, just as the autobot's projection enters, he jolts awake. Light sleeper thank goodness. His dossier at least gives a few things: former army, honorably discharged, degree in business administration. All in all a well-rounded successful man with a bright future and a decent set of morals.

He has a gun, too. And a permit. There's a shotgun pulled from behind the headboards of the bed. Seems he's at least been prepared too. This is no panicky civilian.

"Okay. Okay. Just like back in the war. Right behind you. Only way out is the front door, or maybe the side window." Unless one blows through the wall.

Yari tries the door, and there's a light weight against it for a moment, before she realizes it's locked. Fuki's words only add to the pressure.

She lays off, moves, and then makes several handseals.

"Alright. Give me Mister Hart's coordinates. I hate to do this, but time to go loud. I'll be the distraction if this doesn't work. You take him out when he runs."

There's a sudden flare of magic, and then Yari unleashes a bolt of pure thunder right towards the coordinates that her tiny robot ninja friend will offer!

What will Blurr do?

Blurr has posed:
Oh, good! The man is a veteran of the human military, and he is armed/prepared and therefore not helpless. Excellent. Blurr's avatar smiles. "Perfect, you keep that ready, I'll blow a hole in the back wall. As soon as it's clear, you get the slag out of here, and jump into the blue car straight out back, okay? I'll make sure my doors are open." As he's saying this, his true form is moving into position behind the apartment and preparing its weapons.

And then Yari blasts right through the door, the bolts slamming into the holomatter and throwing it several feet. It was a good thing he'd been in front of the door though, because it protects Hart from the blast. Also at that very moment, the wall behind the bed is assaulted with lasers from the outside, quickly making a hole large enough for a human to slip out. "Hart, GO!" The speedster shouts, not caring for stealth any more.

The avatar hasn't gone out completely, though it flickers somewhat. It manages to get up and smirk over at Yari. "Hey there, remember me? Hope you enjoyed that ice cream, wasn't much left of it by the time everyone was done!" Distract, distract and distract!

Fuki has posed:
So they're on the move. With this, Fuki grins and sends the command and about twenty Howling and Maochao Shinki burst out of Yari's car and start rushing towards the building with various cat and dog related puns along the way. Meanwhile, Fuki takes the opportunity of the blasted door to jet into the area and attach herself to the mark's leg, digging her talons into them to keep attached! "Not getting away from me..."

The Maochao and Howlings move to create a barricade for the doors, to prevent even normal civvies to enter the area while a few of them move towards the side of the building, where the now blasted out hole is...

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
"Understood!" Comes Hart, the man wielding the shotgun like a proper soldier. He's definitely afraid, given the Elite resistance, but he stays more than ready. A true man of military experience. This is no helpless lamb.

Lasers obliterate a hole into the building, and then a lightning blast goes off! Yari is left with a hole there, an Avatar being thrown around, and a lot of indignation!

"...I prefer rocky road, thank you very much!" No need to bother with stealth. She recognizes this avatar too!

The flickering is noticed, but Yari still won't dismiss it as less than a threat. She leaps for Blurr's avatar, aiming a hard kick at his neck! Fatal to a human if it hit, but more than enough to toss aside the avatar otherwise.

Hart is running as Yari and Blurr engage, and Fuki latches right into his leg! The man pulls the trigger, and Yari is glanced on her side: she bleeds, horribly, but ducks back just in time that she won't immediately die.

Still, ti's an awful wound to an organic like, and she grits her teeth in pain.

She throws kunai at the man, mostly paralytics in her haste, and it's up to Fuki and Blurr as Mister Hart stumble in a vulnerable moment!

Blurr has posed:
The avatar takes a kick from Yari, stumbling sideways but dematerializing before it hits the floor. Damn it! Hart is stumbling, because Blurr hadn't realized another Fed had been here. Small, sure, but still effective against humans. The avatar reappears behind Hart and attempts to forcibly rip Fuki off, even if that means tearing a new one in Hart's leg.

Meanwhile, the blue hovercar swerves sharply and attempts to come between Hart and Yari's kunai. "Ugh, you people are idiots, if you're doing what I think you're doing, don't you realize this company might like, I don't know, start not respecting the Confederacy any more because you guys killed one of their people?" Which pretty much has the opposite effect of what she's trying to do, right? If the company respected him enough to consider his buyout plans, then wouldn't they also respect him enough to be pretty slagging pissed off at whoever murdered him?

Fuki has posed:
Fuki blinks, clinging to the leg tightly before a flash of light and her Kama appear, attempting to dig them into the leg to hang on more. Though, with this, she holds herself tightly and twists a bit to avoid that grasp. "Hey! Hey! No grabby! You aren't my Master!" she shouts back at Blurr, pulling out her rifle from the slipway and taking a few unaimed potshots. "Listen, if you want to live, you'll do as we say, sir. Now... lets' go."

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
"Don't underestimate the greed of humes. Ur'da is proof of that, if nothing else!"

Comes Yari, even as the hologram tanks her kick, and the man is safe.

But Blurr is an excellent distraction. Mister Hart aims, and fires, right at the figure of Yari! Even as she makes multiple handsigns, and forces magic into her veins, her sudden twist of body only barely keeps her alive. The final shotgun blast ends with her stomach and shoulders ruptured from the blast of shot, the woman swept up and rolling by pure physical force against the wall of the apartment. She breaths a sigh, bleeding half to death, but still alive if barely.

She can't move, but it won't be long before Confederate evacuation picks up on the woman's coordinates to be whisked away from the rather low security area as she falls unconscious with lead in her gut.

The man's leg is scrapped, and he stumbles after his near-deadly shot! Only Fuki's interference lets Yari live, adn then the robot acts!

One unaimed shot first glances through an armed. Mister Hart drops his gun. The final shot from Fuki falls through his head. The man falls inert, silent, and still.

Yari and presumably Fuki will be recovered, but the Au'Ra is heavily damaged. Time for Blurr to evacuate!

Blurr has posed:
Blurr curses. "Don't you get it, if he thought he could make the board listen to him enough to cause them to completely swap, then I'm sure they respected him and at the very least considered him a valuable asset, I -really- doubt they'll think well of you after you've k--" But then he's too late. Fuki shoots, and Hart goes down. Ugh. Bunch of glitcheads! Don't they have any common sense!

"Frag you all." He might not ever admit it to the rest of the Union, but he does feel a smidgeon of satisfaction when Hart's well-placed shot takes Yari down for the count. The Autobot sighs and drags Hart's body into his own, intending to show Ronald's Self Defense and Protection what the Confederacy did to their financial officer. Certainly they won't be pleased. Zoom! Off he goes, disappearing out of The Green Willows in a flash of white and blue.

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
"That might be, but I have my orders. I'll leave everything else to chance! He was a traitor, and needed to die!" Offers Yari before catching the strike to the stomach. She lands, but Fuki is there!

But Fuki's actions end in Mister Hart's head being blown out. A swift emergency call from both sides end in the near-dead Yari being carted away just as a resulting explosion from the ninja's c4 block creating a distraction. The trio get away, with Mister Hart dieing on the way to the local hospital.
