Welcome to Kookamunga Island, a tropical paradise.

Situated in the western loop's northern edge, it is one of those isolated locations which unified in the middle of nowhere, only connected to other parts of the multiverse due to its warpgates, many of which are in odd jungle clearings.

This island getaway is relevant to Union interests due to the presence of the rare and unique Ruby Fruit, and less relevant due to the prevalance of ruins with giant faces carved on them, bamboo technology, waterfalls, colourful birds, talking animals, the tribe of antagonistic sentient mask tiki people who antagonize them, and panicking girls running around shooting fire all over the place.

Wait, what was that last one again?

    "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH EVERYTHING"

For Molly, this is the start of a very strange day. And probably for you, too.

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
Yang was just taking a leisurely stroll, wandering the gate network and seeing where she ended up.

She wasn't expecting to get a fireball in the face for her trouble! The licking flames wash over her, absorbed by her Aura, colouring it an angry orange-red. "WHO DID THAT!?" she yells loudly, deploying her gauntlets and scanning the area.

Kazuko Kawakami (942) has posed:
This place definitely isn't anything like home. Or... Anywhere Kazuko's been before, really. Sure, being on an island isn't anything new, but the weird ruins? The people? The animals? That's not what she's used to seeing on a regular basis at all!

Well, there was that one guy, but still. The rest is completely new to her! Arriving from the warp gate with her usual naginata and track jacket, Kazuko isn't sure what to expect or even who to see in this uncharted territory. Both Molly's panicked shouting and Yang's arrival ahead of her draws a curious stare from the martial artist, looking between them slowly before waving cheerfully at Yang. "Hi, Yang! Uh... What's going on here?"

Alden (930) has posed:
Apparently Yang was not the only one just roaming around gates, and exploring the destinations!. Alden seemed rather pleased with the island so far, the giant stone faces, waterfalls... pretty birds... people shooting fire at him!.... Wait, that last one is not a good one!. The digimon yelps loudly and rolls out of the way, "Hey!, cut that out!" he grumbles, patting down the bit of flame threatening to burn his pelt.

Molly Lampson (965) has posed:
Tropical paradises are, as far as random rolls on the leisurely stroll location table go, pretty good. Were it not for the fire, you could almost hear the bouncy music on the air and the lively, funfilled atmosphere. Unfortunately, there's fire.

Alden and Yang are both definitely going to find themselves accidentally exposed to fire, which is coming from the person over there, who is running around and screaming. She is an orange-haired, somewhat scrawny-looking individual, hair partially drooping over her eyes and wearing somewhat plain and pre-modern clothing, plus a backpack, a big glove on one hand, and an assortment of rings on her other hand.

She stops running for a moment and stares at Alden with the huge blue eyes under said hair. Blinks a bit... then, for no clear reason, picks him up and starts running back and forth and around Yang. And Kazuko.

"AHHHHHHhhhhhhhhh wait why am I doing this again?"

    What is going on, indeed.

It's at this exact point that a pretty big group of like a dozen or twenty, assorted colourful tiki guys, some of which are on fire, some of which have sacks or wheelbarrows full of ruby-shaped fruit, appear from a clearing. They look kind of angry and evil and on fire.

    "Ohhhhhh. Yeah, that's why..."

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
Yang ducks, and dive rolls to the side to avoid another face full of fire. "Yeah, gotta wonder why you're just flinging fire about at random." she grouses a bit. "What's got you all in a--- ooooooh."

That's about when the angry, evil, on-fire Tiki guys show up. "They don't look happy to see us. Uh..." she dusts herself off, straightens up and lifts a hand in greeting. "Hello! We come in peace! Uh... take me to your leader?" she ventures, walking over slowly.

Alden (930) has posed:
Alden looks at the girl curiously for a few moments, and then is picked up!. He flails cutely for a few moments, but is nice enough to blast or bite the girl, instead looking at her for a few moments, "Hey, what's going on?" he asks softly, his confusion only growing when he sees the tiki people, on fire, and moving towards them. "Are you ok?" he asks to the girl, before focusing again on the tiki people, "Who are them?"

Kazuko Kawakami (942) has posed:
What is even going on here? The girl's still throwing fire around, a fuzzy white and blue creature just showed up, Yang's talking to the flaming tiki fruit-delivery people, and Kazuko's just staring at the whole mess with a completely bewildered look on her face.

"... Hiii. Is that lunch?" Her gaze goes right towards those ruby-shaped fruits, a curious glint crossing her eyes as she steps forward. She even offers the tiki people a big grin, trying not to look too threatening despite the weapon on her back and... Whatever it is Molly's doing with Alden and Yang back there.

"Did something happen? Maybe we can help out or something!"

Molly Lampson (965) has posed:
"Weeelll..."

You know when you have a flashback, no time actually passes in the present, and nobody takes advantage of the fact that you're either explaining things standing there doing nothing but talking or staring off into space, depending on whether the flashback is externalised or internalised? Well, this is the former, and helpfully it's happening right now. It even comes with simplified, cartoon pictures!

"I was walking around in this cave with all of these mushrooms in it, when I came across a bunch of them all growing in a ring. A clefairy circle! Now, I've heard good things happen when you stand in one of those, so I jumped in! But then the next thing I knew I was definitely not in Bayern any more, because it was a lot more bright and a lot more green and everyone was a lot shorter, and these little guys were stealing all of these fruits from these bird guys and their town! And then everyone was like 'hey you giant' and I was like 'ahhhhhhhhh' and they were like 'urgh argh bah!' and I was like 'ahhhhhhhh' and they were chasing me and I was like 'ahhhhhhh'...."

And she might be handing Kazuko a fruit and eating one herself by this point, "And so, the moral of the story is..."

And then a HUGE Tiki mask guy, like a foot taller than Yang, with big square feet and blue and green spikes on his head, who's only kind of on fire but kind of burned from previous fire, shows up? He's got a bandage on his head, too. He seems angry, and it's not just because he's carved that way.

    "AHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

And then he's shouting and everyone's attacking them! With spells and coconuts and stuff!

Kazuko Kawakami (942) has posed:
Kazuko's nodding intently at Molly as she goes over what had happened to her, taking the fruit and even taking a bite out of it without a second thought. She's not going to turn down free food, after all, and it's not like there aren't alot of those fruits with the smaller tiki people!

She should probably be al ittle more worried about the giant one, though. Also, the rest of the attackers. She lets out a light yelp after getting whacked by a coconut, then focuses on deflecting them away with her palm. "H-hey! Quit it! We're just as confused as you are!" She shouts at the masked villagers, eventually drawing out her naginata when the spells start flying.

"So what were /you/ doing here?" She asks Molly, although her focus is on the tiki people now as she starts spinning that naginata in front of her to deflect as many of those projectiles away from everyone else as she can. The good thing is that today's naginata is a blunted one, so there shouldn't be too many issues of sending coconut juice everywhere!

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
"You could have just said 'No'!" Yang gripes, leaping out of the way of a spell, and backflipping away from some coconuts. "Okay, now you're PISSING ME OFF!" she roars, drawing her right arm back, and punching forwards, in a similar motion to someone throwing a 'shot' or a javelin. Instead of a lump of metal or a length of wood, it's an explosive bolt of energy! It arcs a little, and explodes like a grenade on impact.

She doesn't escape reprisal so much though, and has to brace for more coconuts smacking into her as she crosses her arms in front of her to absorb the hits.

Alden (930) has posed:
Alden assumes he is still being held! he listens curiously to the explanation, nodding a few times here and there, only to notice the rather large tiki person coming closer. "But how did they end up on fire?." he asks curiously. Cue coconuts flying at his head!.

It slams against his horn, cracking the fruit, and causing him to yelp in pain, "Hey!, that hurts!" he growls, trying to squirm out of the arms, and searching for the people shooting at them. "Blue blaster!". He does not directly shoot at them, but the stream of blue flames is aimed towards the group, hoping to force them to at least reconsider.

Molly Lampson (965) has posed:
And the tree at the back said, 'everyone attack!' and it turned into a ballroom blitz.

Yang punches out whoever gets close to her, but there are definitely a couple tikis trying to cling onto her legs. The big one is shaking his headdress, causing big leaves to drift down as well. Thankfully the first wave of coconuts is easily deflected, but there's still a half dozen boisterous guys with clubs (and one wielding another /as/ a club) to fight.

"I don't know!" Molly complains, while trying to stop one of the tikis from wailing on her with its tiny arms. "I don't even know where I am right now! I don't know who anyone is! I'm hungry and my foot itches!"

It's trying to hit her with a coconut, and once she realizes she could do so by putting Alden down, she finally forces it off. "Ahhhhh, ok, enough is enough! Molly calls... Litwick!"

She puts her free hand forward, and one of the colourful rings on her finger lets out a beam of light and sparkles. When it clears, there's a little chubby candle there with a simple face and a purple fire on the wick.

    "Flame Burst attack!"

    Sidenote: fruit is delicious.

Alden's probably going to get the answer to the question of 'how did they get set on fire' when both the Pokemon and the girl start shooting bursting balls of flame at the tiki gang, not that everyone's not kind of occupied already. It's safe to say that since these guys are the bad guys anyway? since they were stealing apparently?, nobody's going to mind you fighting them. Alden can stop some of the ones at the back from trying to dogpile in, and some of them even abandon their bags of Rubyfruit and run(?) off.

Kazuko Kawakami (942) has posed:
They're not stopping at all, are they? That's as good of an answer as any for Kazuko, at least, since it makes things easier for her. "If that's the case... Help us out, then! Do that... Yeah, with the fire!" The martial artist suggests as she grips that naginata tightly, then starts thrashing the blunted weapon about at the tiki people. She'll leave the biggest target to Molly, Yang, and Alden for the time being, focusing instead on trying to get the four of them more space and fewer outside distractions to streamline the whole fighting-the-natives process.

Are these even the natives? She can't tell, but nobody can really blame Kazuko for trying to protect herself, right? Right. She can worry about that weird candle creature later.

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
Yang is a lot stronger than she looks, and she already looks pretty strong! The ones clinging to her legs just get used as extra bludgeoning force as she fires concussive bursts from her gauntlets, spinning herself around for momentum-reinforced roundhouse kicks at one of the guys with the clubs, specifically the one using a smaller tikiman AS a club.

She doesn't seem to have any notion of 'dodge', taking hits directly to the face and just rolling with them, before pressing back into the attack! Molly might liken the way the blonde fights to a charging Tauros, she only has one gear: Go... but it seems to work for her, as each hit she takes, seems to boost the return strikes!

What were once hand-grenade explosions, are not TNT stick-size, tearing up the ground and leaving craters in their wake as she starts to laugh, a boistrous, full gaffaw of pure joy!

Alden (930) has posed:
Alden decides that yes, avoiding getting mobbed is good, and that given the targets are small, he needs a larger, stronger shape!. He does notice the pokemon, but will ask questions after the issue is solved!. He reaches into his cardbox and grabs one of the cards, raising it, and sliding it swiftly on the card reader. He does not read the title, no need to be too flashy right now!.

The digimon glows and 'explodes' into stray voxels, before reforming into a rather large, quadrupedal wolfish creature!. Sharp eyes can tell it is very similar to the pelt Alden was wearing, if... well, noticeably larger. He snarls and tries to swipe at the small tiki people, biting at teh air, and huffing bits of fire, trying to intimidate them.

Molly Lampson (965) has posed:
Well, they are /some/ of the natives? I guess? Maybe they emerged from the big ruins with the faces on them because it was 500 years since a big chief bird cast a spell that locked them up in there. Wait, no, then they'd still be natives. I hope you all appreciate my subtle worldbuilding of this saturday morning cartoon setting we've wandered into, everyone, there'll be a test later.

These guys clearly- CLEARLY- bit off a lot more than they can chew here, and whereas before Molly only succeeded in making them angry, when you get down to the idea of punching them so hard things explode, everything becomes a lot easier. Especially with the intrepid combination of 'setting their flammable feather bits on fire', which is frightening and stops them from casting magic, 'using your polearm to give everyone lots of room to move in' which helps because they're so small and 'being a giant freakin' wolf' which just means you basically win anyway when it comes to this sort of thing.

Eventually, most of these tikis are just knocked out, knocked flying, or just sent running with the tops of their heads on fire (mostly it's the 'knocked flying', really, those were some big explosions) and with enough fire from Alden and Molly, combined with Kazuko, it's a scratchless victory.

Once we've put the fires out and everything's calmed down, Molly is sat on a rock giving her Litwick a berry, some birds are here to take their Rubyfruits back, and everything seems to have calmed down.

"So, uh, who are you people, anyway?" Molly asks, "With your funny clothes and your no Pokemon."

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
Yang was /just/ getting started too... She gives chase when the Tikimen start running, roaring and ensuring they're fully broken and fleeing scared. "THAT'S RIGHT, YOU BETTER RUN!" she bellows. Her hair is /glowing/ gold, and licks of amber flame can be seen rising from within the massive mane. When she turns to approach Molly and her Litwick, her eyes are a baleful, angry red, until she shakes out of her battle rage, and they turn back to lilac between blinks. "So... uh.."

Oh, question incoming. "I'm Yang. Yang Xiao Long and I'm a Huntress in training at Beacon academy! I was just taking a walk when I ended up in the middle of a warzone." she quips, smirking a bit. "Not that I mind, this was /fun/!"
