Wang Fire's flaming game
Date of Scene: 23 December 2016
Location: Earth-199999
Synopsis: Wang Fire's first table top game! Can the group work together long enough to save some poor town? Probably not! But tune in to find out!
Cast of Characters: 1076, 930, 20, 262, 1080, 857, 644

Sokka (1076) has posed:
Sokka was lounging in the dining hall. Wearing his great, marvelous beard. There was paper. There was dice. There were books. Most importantly... there was Wang Fire. The man. The legend. The DM.

The lights were dim, the table was prepared for the crowd that was bound to gather. There was snacks(chips and cokes). There was the seat reserved for Toph at his right side. It. Was. Time.

So of course he really, really had to pee and quickly had to run out of the room for just a minute to deal with that!

Alden (930) has posed:
Alden had no clue what kind of... game this is, but he was not one to refuse an invitation for fun, silly things with his friends, so when Sokka mentioned this meeting, he had to be there!. Thus, the gabumon made his way to the Stark Estate, and at the time, was eating a couple chips. In front of him was a couple of sheets of paper scribbled around, part with digi script, part of it with regular letters, scratching his chin as he pondered on the character he was making.

Toph Beifong (20) has posed:
While Sokka is the cavern keeper for this game, it's Toph Beifong who greets the guests as they arrive. After all, this is her home, and she wants to make sure that nothing disturbs the Christmas peace of this place. There are some wildcards after all, and the greatest earthbender of all time needs to set things straight. All the people who had expressed an interest in joining the game had been sent coordinates to the Stark estate in Malibu on Earth-199999. It's easy enough to find the right house, as it's the only house in the area, a majestic white manor that sits upon Malibu Point as it overlooks the pacific ocean, the beach down below the house. Clearly this isn't the home of a poor person. And when they arrive every person gets a reminder of the rules from a blind teenager who stands at the front door, dressed in loose jeans and a casual red tunica.

"No going anywhere besides the floor we're on. No bothering the cat. No breaking into the liquor cabinet. No dragging mud in, that's my priviledge."

They are simple rules, and while Toph doesn't look that physically impressive she does carry herself with great determination, especially when Dr. Jekyll arrives. He's the only person who she really doesn't know there, but she does listen to her allies. There's no war any longer, so she doesn't expect trouble. But it's better to be careful just in case.

Once everybody has arrived Toph takes it on herself to drag snacks and drinks into the dining hall. Only then does she flop down into her chair. Welcome to whatever Sokka has planned.

Fiera Kitsun (262) has posed:
It's while Sokka, aka WANG FIRE, is out of the room that Fiera slips in. She probably should have gotten here sooner, but navigation got harder with the recent Upheaval. "I'm not late, am I?" the Pokemon trainer inquires, unzipping her sweatjacket now that she's out of the cold.

She does not have any Pokemon out when she arrives, and the first thing she asks Toph is, "Is it okay if I let one or two of my Pokemon out? If they'll trouble the cat by their presence, I'll keep them in their balls, but they're very well-behaved." She seems to relax a bit on that front upon seeing Alden, but ... well, Toph is the representative hostess, she's the one who has to answer Fiera's question. Once it's been answered (either way), she looks for a seat; where she sits depends partly on Toph's answer to the Pokemon question.

Hopefully there's a rulebook of some sort that she can leaf through.

Henry Jekyll (1080) has posed:
Jekyll has taken off his more formal clothes for a more comfortable, casual outfit for this. The guy is trivial to miss, and makes practically no sound when walking, so when Toph came to pick him up he made sure to scrape his throat and make some sound to ensure she knew where to find him. Once brought inside, he carefully takes off his shoes and leaves them at the entrance.

When he reaches the dining hall he sits down and takes out a set of dice, a couple pencils and a notebook out of his bag, leaning back in his chair casually. "Hello everyone." The guy, who remains easy to overlook, looks around, "I'm Doctor Henry Jekyll, I wasn't sure if were expected to bring our own characters or make them here, so I rolled up a couple just in case." He flips his notebook and starts taking down notes.

Eve (857) has posed:
Eve gives Sokka a LOOK as she comes in. She's apparently so not impressed by the beard. Or by Sokka. She's not even entirely sure why she's here. Well okay, that's not true. She's here after hearing Toph had fun in a teambuilding game and that Toph's friend was doing another such. And of course Eve accepts games, as long as they're serious games.

Looking up from a copy of the rulebook, which she JUST finished reading, she peers over the book's rim. Only to note Sokka's gone. Oh well. At least she glowered at him when she first arrived. She settles back, setting the book down. "Right. So we're supposed to ... create characters? Or ... hm. This is new to me." she says. She glances dubiously at the Doctor, who she obviously doesn't know. "I can take one of yours you're not using, if we're supposed to bring our own." she decides.

Sokka (1076) has posed:
Sokka returned a few moments later, freshly emptied(and hands washed). He walked to the head of the table and sat by Toph. He then nodded. "Okay, young lads. Are you all prepared for a world of excitement and adventure? You'll be stepping into our world, a world of benders and great power. This will take place before the war and I trust you've all had a chance to peruse your books. Now then!"

He slammed his palm down on the table. "Introduce yourselves and your characters, please. Then prepare for your... adventure." He said, a grin on his face.

Alden (930) has posed:
Alden looks back at Toph, while Sokka is out, "What's up with that beard?" he asks softly, but before any answer is given, the others arrive!. He waves to Fiera, Mr, Jekyll and Eve, "Heya!" he says softly, tilting his head at the mention of pokemon, seemingly curious about the critters!. He then returns to the table and his sheet, scribbling randomly at something. "My character is..." cue some scribbling, "It's a water bender, Siku the ice bender." he finally says, looking around at the other players. It's clear the gabumon is a bit overwhelmed by the game, but wanting to try regardless.

Toph Beifong (20) has posed:
"Don't ask about the beard," is Toph's reply to Alden once she gets the chance to speak up. As for Fiera's inquiry? "As long as the Pokemon follow the rules, then yeah sure, let them out," Toph affirms to Fiera. "Long time no see." The joke is added with a grin.

As for Jekyll's arrival, the blind girl actually jumps slightly when he speaks up, and there's a look of confusion on her face. How the...? Though she nods her head a bit. "Uh, hi... step on in inside. No walking to other floors, no bothering the cat, no acting out..." She doesn't 'look' in his direction however, and her eyes are a milky green shade. Though it appears that she moves about with confidence and without hesitation.

It's a bit of a surprise to 'see' Eve here though, and Toph grins. "Heh, nice of you to drop by, Spoopy! Haven't heard you on the radio! Did you get my Christmas present? And just why haven't you joind the Paladins? Thought that would be perfect for you.

With the books and all given out beforehand it should have been easy to create a character according to the setup. You could be a non-bender, firebender, waterbender, airbender or earthbender, which of course was the coolest. Duh. So Toph holds up her own sheet, putting it hard down on the table. "My character is Chilibreath the firebender," she announces, waiting for the others while she opens a bag of chips. After that she picks up a metal glove that she begins fastening on her left hand, the inside of it making some faint clicking sounds as sensors on the fingertips light up.

Fiera Kitsun (262) has posed:
With Toph giving the okay, Fiera goes ahead and lets Foxfire out of her Pokeball; the Ninetales does indeed take a brief stroll around the living room before settling down next to Fiera's seat - and in anticipation of that, Fiera picked a seat that she could have a Pokemon next to.

She could let out her Pikachu as well, but Denki's presence isn't likely to be the healthiest thing for advanced electronics.

As for her character, Fiera needs to refer back to the rulebooks while scribbling notes on her character sheet; she's sorely tempted to go with firebender - which is kind of the obvious choice, really, between her name and her starter Pokemon. Still, non-benders have some interesting options ...

"As a player, I'm Fiera Kitsun, a Pokemon trainer," Fiera introduces herself. "But within the game, I'm Hisui Fudo, without bending powers of her own, but trained to counter-act other benders' abilities. She's not very good at it yet ... but she tries her hardest."

"Nine?" [What about me?] the Ninetales queries from next to Fiera's chair; the trainer giggles sheepishly and pets the vulpine Pokemon. "Right, and this is Foxfire, most senior among my Pokemon. She won't be playing, unfortunately ..." Fiera gives Foxfire another scritch behind the ears, and the Ninetales subsides a bit, sitting back on her haunches.

Henry Jekyll (1080) has posed:
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you, I just tend to blend in with the environment." Jekyll answers Toph right after startling her, he sounds genuine. He picks a character sheet for Eve, handing it over. A rough, high physical stats low-int firebender with 'Arlock the Bookburner' as his name. Yes, he saw her read quite intensely, and is looking for reactions.

After all, this is an exercise in getting to understand people. A research opportunity.

He then places down his own character sheet, another one. "I will be playing Olmunstir the Wise, an elderly airbending gentleman who is coming along to make sure you young'uns don't get yourself in too much trouble."

Eve (857) has posed:
Eve nods to Toph. "I've been quiet." she says, characteristically quiet even saying so. "And thank you for the book. I found it informative." she adds. The apron isn't mentioned, and she's surely not wearing it now. But hey, Eve DOES like frilly things so who knows?

Toph's other comment, however, brings a chill to Eve's expression. One that screams (to those who know the girl anyways) that she's hiding something, or at least that she's uncomfortable with the question. The Watch is secret, after all. While she doesn't mind others knowing about her situation there, she isn't about to out the organization when it's not public knowledge. Her invitation was sincere, and her response to it was well-considered and equally sincere. She's not a member simply out of expediency. Eve purses her lips, then sighs, just the slightest exhalation. "I was approached. I... sympathise, and I'll help the Paladins when I can. But I don't think I'd be able to commit to a group that has to follow the laws over doing what's right." she says. "I mean... when the Union rescued me, they were only there because local law enforcement wasn't allowed to act against Torneo Rudman." she explains. If they'd been Paladins sworn to law instead of freedom, she might still be an assassin.

The heavy philosophising, however, comes to an end as she accepts her character sheet and reads it at a glance. Then pauses, doubletakes, and reads it AGAIN. This time she stares at it for considerably longer than a second. Then she glowers, scowling up at Jekyll.

The glower remains on Eve's face as she shifts to look at Sokka. "I am Arlock the.... Bookburner." she says with reluctance. "A Firebender." Why couldn't SHE have been Olmunstir the Wise? She's USED to being the voice of calm reason and making sure kids (usually older than her) don't do stupid things.

Sokka (1076) has posed:
Sokka nodded. "Gotcha. So two fire benders, an air bender, an awesome person," Yay fiera! "A water bender. Okay! So, the story up to this point is simple. The last Avatar, an earth bender, was killed in a war in the Earth Kingdom. The great emperor Kil Li has since stopped his assaults, after an illness spread through his body. However, as he has passed away, his son has taken over and the drums of war have once again taken hold. Your group, for one reason or another, finds themselves in a northern outpost of the fire kingdom, currently under sieged by an earth kingdom army."

Neva Fernandez (644) has posed:
DINGDONG! It's Neva! She's late! "HI! I'm late! Sorry I'm late! I brought pizza! And a character sheet! And soda!" She calls in from outside. Toph would note that when Neva arrived, she sort of... Stepped out of nowhere. Not dropped from the sky, and it wasn't even sneaking, she just... Stepped into being.

Toph Beifong (20) has posed:
"There's usually no blending from me," Toph mutters slightly in response to Jekyll.

Eve's explanation to why she doesn't join the Paladins does make Toph listen closely, and eventually... she nods. "I can understand that." There is a pensive expression on her face however, and she doesn't say more about the subject.

When Eve receives her sheet and reads it Toph blinks, looking curious as she arches an eyebrow. When the name of her character is read out loud... the blind earthbender immediately bursts out into roaring laughter, reaching out to punch Sokka in the arm repeatedly. Obviously she finds this extremely funny. Why, she even has trouble breathing at one point, leaning forward and clutching one arm around her abdomen. Wheezing, she nods at Sokka's introduction to their setting. "Okay... so..." Snicker. "Chilibreath decides to... ah, deliver a speech to the people inside to motivate them to fight off the dirty earthbenders." This is hilarious.

Neva's arrival is met with a nod, and Toph points to a free chair. "Sit down, we're just getting started."

Neva Fernandez (644) has posed:
Neva, once she has situated herself, placed THREE XL Pizzas and the Soda nearby, and coughs, "Sorry, Um... I guess nobody here actually knows me... Um, Neva Fernandez! That's my name... Not my character's name... My character is Shen, a Chi-blocker... I kinda figured some sort of Anti-bender person might be useful..."

Alden (930) has posed:
The gabumon gnaws on the pencil, checking back at his sheet, and back to Sokka... "Let's hope there is enough water around.". He seems curious about the outburst from Toph, tilting his head a bit, and about to ask something. Unfortunately, his attention is stolen by the Ninetales, waving to the regal looking fire fox, before turning back to Fiera, "Nice to meet you, I am Alden." he offers, his tail wagging, "I admit to eb new to pokemon, she is a cute fox.". He only focuses back on teh game after Toph begins 'roleplaying'. He nods a few times, "My character checks for the wounded, not the best, but he knows some healing, so he assists anyone that needs it. At the speech, he nods, "My character agrees, we need to stop the siege, before we run out of provisions."

Fiera Kitsun (262) has posed:
Well, they're jumping right in, aren't they?

Fiera thinks briefly while the others settle into character, and follows suit. "Hisui is trying to take stock of how the Earth Kingdom's siege is arranged - whether there are any weak points that, say, a small group of unlikely allies could exploit to either sneak out of the outpost, or actually screw things up enough that the Fire Kingdom's forces can break the siege the rest of the way with that unexpected assistance."

Henry Jekyll (1080) has posed:
Jekyll leans back in his chair as things unfold, smiling faintly at Eve when he notes her reaction. Like, actually takes notes. Toph's response is also written down, and he takes advantage of his ability to naturally blend in and not draw attention to observe more than he plays, for now. Eventually, he does bother to describe what he does, it's very simple. "I follow the group."

Eve (857) has posed:
Eve is extra-not-pleased by Toph's reaction to her character. But of course, it's important to play the role. The rulebook made that clear. Roleplaying is about being something you're not, and if Eve's being laughed at, she'll just have to SEE who gets the last laugh!

Hint, it's really really not likely to be Eve.

Eve peers at Neva. "Hello." she greets in a soft voice. "Eve." she adds. Then swings back to Toph. "Hmmmph. Talk." Eve delivers in a harsher monotone much different from her usual uninvested tones. She glares at Toph, her mouth turning down in a frown. "Stupid Earth Kingdom...ers. Let's just burn them. Or something." she insists. Then, to Sokka, "Arlok looks for something to burn. Not books. Like... pots of oil maybe? Castles usually have oil for sieges right?"

Neva Fernandez (644) has posed:
Neva bites her lip as she looks sort of catches a recap of what's going on, and she seems a bit glum, "Is this going to be a hack and slash driven game? I wrote a background and everything for my character..." She pulls out five additional printed pages, all of it being personality and backstory, and hands them to Sokka.

Neva hrmms, "Okay, so, I put points in a bunch of diplomacy skills and feats, so if we get caught, I think I can fast talk anything... And THEN we punch them if neccessaey... I... Also follow the party I guess."

Sokka (1076) has posed:
Sokka nodded. "Toph, you are soon pelted by angry cabbage farmers, tossing rotten cabbages at you. Eve, you find plenty of books. Ones titled things such as 'One of a kind fire bending secrets for a new age' and 'the last diary of my long deceased grandmother.' Alden, you are able to help the wounded, but you can quickly see that the small outpost is being over whelmed. The walls won't hold for long and the army outside is monstrous. Fortunately, while the wounded are piling up, the army is still getting into position and hasn't surrounded your outpost yet." He scratched his beard. "Fiera, you do note that the river behind the outpost would make the best means of escape, but there are only a few boats, nothing near capable of getting the full outpost out. Eveni f you had time."

Fiera Kitsun (262) has posed:
"It's good to meet you too, Alden," Fiera asides to the Gabumon. Foxfire preens a little bit at being called 'cute'; she might have preferred a different adjective, but she's not going to object.

Fiera's attention snaps back to Sokka as he announces results. "Okay ..." She purses her lips. There's a river. The players' party is limited to water, fire, and air.

"Siku, if we needed to stop the river, how long could you keep it frozen for? We're probably only going to get one chance to try something like that, and as soon as the Earth Kingdom forces realize we're up to something, they'll be on us like locust-beetles on young crops."

Eve (857) has posed:
Eve smirks at Toph as her fate's declared, but that smirk turns to dismay when her own situation's revealed. Why did it have to be books? "No, I meant..." she begins, then pauses. She rasps again, though her voice squeaks somewhat, shifting between her girly tones and the harsh dumb firebender voice in her consternation. "Arlok not looking to burn these! Arlok looking for way to burn ARMY!" she grunts. Hey, it's one way to avoid setting the books on fire! That's not something she'd lightly do, even in a game! She continues in her normal tones. "Arlok kicks the books before storming back to the others." she says. Then continues in Arlok voice. "Can't burn them all." she grunts. "Should leave. Come back when we have something to burn them all with." she adds. Then, switching voices to herself, "Arlok doesn't much care about the people in the outpost. He burns BOOKS after all." she glowers.

Alden (930) has posed:
The digimon resists the temptation to approach Foxfire to pet her!. In any case, he nibbles on his pencil again and checks the sheet for a few moments, "This is a rather nasty situation..." he finally says, before smiling to Fiera, checking his sheed, "I think a couple minutes maybe, not sure how deep the river is, perhaps more time." he says. "Did you have a plan?".

Neva Fernandez (644) has posed:
Neva listens to the and glances at her character sheet for a bit more, before hmming, "I'm not seeing many opportunities for Shen..." She mumbles, "At least not yet... I mean, we could always use a mouth-piece person..."

Toph Beifong (20) has posed:
Jekyll's actions during the round does make Toph arch an eyebrow. "Way to waste a round, buddy..." Still, she's amused by Eve's character and she doesn't go entirely serious. Okay, if nothing else, this entire evening was worth it just for Eve's reaction.

Still, she turns her head slightly towards Neva. "I suspect this will be a silly," she states as she munches on some chips, then holds the bag out towards Sokka so he can grab something to munch on.

Seriously, cabbages again? Toph grumbles slightly where she sits, then reaches a hand up to pick at her nose. "Chilibreath decides ignore them if they're not going to be happy about it... instead he asks the others who have scouted around what should be done about the siege."

A snicker does escape her when Sokka explains what Eve's character finds though. And the way Eve plays it out amuses the blind teenager to no ends. "Of course you can burn the books, Arlok! You're a firebender! You could always burn the books and throw them at the earthbenders," she suggests.

Henry Jekyll (1080) has posed:
Jekyll takes a few more notes, and smiles at Toph. "I'm sorry, I just didn't want to act rashly before I was fully aware of what was going on. I haven't played games like these before" He comments, and then he places his sheet down on the table. "Okay, using the prepared bending feat I can store up power over time," he points at it on his sheet, then moves to another power, "with the power I have stored I can use my solid air bending technique to uh" he looks around, and points at a few places, "build a wall out of air that should buy us, uh... let's check the rules." He flips through the book, "With this area and this much bending power it should last about 3d4+4 minutes, if I did my math right." He looks up to check people's reactions.

Sokka (1076) has posed:
Sokka nodded as he went about. He took a mouth full of chips, then glanced to Toph. "Psssst. You missed some on your left side." ... They were so weird. Then nodded. "Stopping the water, for a little bit, should be possible. And..." Then he blinked, frowning. "Well... actually, yes. That would work. It would buy you a little bit of time."

He grinned and nodded. "Okay then! I really should have thoughtm ore about that feat. But! Anyway! So, you now have a bit of time. What do you do now?" he grinned wide. "It won't last long, so you'd better move fast!"

Eve (857) has posed:
Eve glowers hard at Toph who ISN'T HELPING AT ALL! "Arlok likes burning books I guess but it's hardly going to hurt the army more than just firebending at them, is it?" she states acidly. "I... he was looking for something that would spread the fire. Like oil. I just rolled badly. No point burning the books now." she observes. Nooo point at all. Book burning is stupid.

Perhaps interestingly, Eve nods in reply to Jekyll's calculations. Either she's just agreeable or she somehow managed to remember the feats and calculations from spending a minute or two flipping through the rulebook earlier. Pretty ridiculous concept, admittedly. Then again clearly Eve does love books so who knows?

Eve looks around, then shrugs. "Arlok charges out first." she insists. "He hates being cooped up in there." she adds unnecessarily. "Besides he's strong and not very bright. If any of the Earth forces are around, he'll shoot fire at them while we run past."

Fiera Kitsun (262) has posed:
Fiera doesn't seem likely to take offense if Alden decides to try petting Foxfire. Of course, the *Ninetales* might ... and for all Fiera's insight into how Foxfire thinks (and vice versa), she won't presume to speak for the fire-fox Pokemon.

Besides, she's more concerned with being Hisui at this point. Eve/Arlok talking about burning books (or anything else) prompts a brief glance from the redhead to the blonde. "A 'couple of minutes' would only be enough time for us to escape, it wouldn't do anything for the rest of the outpost ...." She falls silent for a moment. A trap or something for the besieging army? They don't have --

Wait a second.

"We don't have a way to lure the army into the outpost while we're sneaking out behind them, do we?" She looks at the firebender players.

Neva Fernandez (644) has posed:
Neva in the mean time nabs a slice of Hawaiian pizza and noms on it chewing into the pinapple and ham delightfully, and points out, "You know... Fire does have this habit of grabbing people's attention. Maybe... I dunno... Set the outpost we're trying to escape from on fire...?"

Toph Beifong (20) has posed:
At Sokka's words Toph reaches a hand up to wipe at the left side of her mouth. "I know, I know..."

So they have some time to use to escape the stronghold. And the others come up with a plan which she agrees with. "I say we fight to escape when the water is bended and escape that way. Any decent waterbender can create an icebridge, right...?" Let's hope that they have enough points in the waterbending category. It's just a game, but still... she doesn't want to bother rerolling a character after her first session. AGAIN.

There's no verbal reply from Toph when Eve speaks back to her, but that shit eating grin should say enough, shouldn't it?

At a certain point during the radio chatter when Toph seems to get some chips stuck in her throat, she leans forward over the table. At the same time there's something strange that happens to the floor underneath Jekyll's chair, shifting and threatening to tip the chair back.

Alden (930) has posed:
He reaches for some pizza, eating some food, and watching at Jekyll, "Good move, I should have researched that stuff more... but never did anything like this, still kinda confused." he says softly. When neva makes a suggestion about fire, "We need to rush the wounded away before we run out of time." To Toph's idea he nods, "I can do that too, guess that might be easier than parting the river to cross." he says with a grin.

Henry Jekyll (1080) has posed:
Satisfied with his actions, Jekyll leans back, enjoying the idle banter on the radio while he keeps an eye on the game and the people who play it, studiously keeping notes. So when his chair is tipped backwards, he doesn't notice until it actually falls over. Now, while the chair may hit the ground with a satisfying 'thunk' he doesn't. Instead, he responds as soon as he notices something is wrong.

Thus he finds himself barely maintaining a precarious balance, returning to sitting on the now toppled chair, just in more of a crouch, leaning on the side as though it's where he's intended to rest his arm. "I thought we were here to game, not to throw powers at one another." He comments in a mildly chiding tone. "And on that note, I would like to take advantage of my windbending to augment Arlok's bookburning."

Sokka (1076) has posed:
Sokka nodded. "True. Fire often DOES draw attention. Especially the great fires of their times. Such as... WANG!" slammed both palms down before giving the thumbs up. He blinked, turned on his radio and accidentally burped, then kind of hacked a few minutes later, choking on a coke before saying something frantically, making a very cringing face.

Then, focused on the game. He took some pizza and eyed the board. He'd then nod. "Well, the winds are keeping them at bay, for the time being... however... when your water bender heads out you..." He rolls a dice. "Are able to form a bridge!" Then he grins. "As the people start making their way across, however, you see a small battalion of earth benders coming from underground, going under the winds!"

Eve (857) has posed:
Eve blinkblinks at Sokka. In the pin-drop silence as he makes his declaration and slam, you can practically hear her eyelids meet. She shakes her head and sighs, turning to Neva. "We can't set the outpost on fire! There's PEOPLE inside!" she insists passionately. Then coughs. "Of course Arbok doesn't care, I suppose. It'll just encourage them to leave faster." she adds. "And I'm NOT burning books!" she adds, annoyed, to Jekyll.

"Not right now at least. I'm... er, Arbok is..." she pauses. Eve looks around, considering. "We have to worry about the Earthbenders tunneling in. That's something Arbok's pretty good at, right? All right, he's going to start fires, make it so the Earthbenders have to go through flame to get to us, not just through the earth. And they'll probably pile dirt on the fire, but Arbok has lots of stamina so he can keep this up a while! Just put some more fire down every time it gets covered, while we get away.

Toph Beifong (20) has posed:
Why didn't he hit the ground...?

Toph frowns a bit where she sits as Jekyll doesn't fall to the floor along with the chair. This guy... is seriously creepy. This is best expressed at the annoyed frown she sends in his direction.

Let's focus on the game. "Chilibreath decides to kick low to the ground, sending a burst of fire towards the advancing earthbenders," she comments, looking slightly tense where she sits, tapping her gloved left fingers against her right arm.

Henry Jekyll (1080) has posed:
Jekyll smiles as he sees Toph's frown. "If you're using some kind of non-visual form of perception, just so you know, due to a particular quirk of my current state of being, I am naturally difficult to detect or analyze. If you're in a faction, ask your allies about Assassin-class Heroic Spirits sometime." He then notes down Eve's response and turns to Sokka, "I use the bridge. The town is clearly lost, and I don't have any other way of helping people escape."

Alden (930) has posed:
Alden's character finishes building the ice bridge, when he hears about the earth benders tunneling!. He prepares to launch an attack, only to be beaten by Toph's character, "My character moves to assist Chilibreath on holding the earthbenders back, and trying to push back the ones that make it past Chilibreath's attack with water jets."

Neva Fernandez (644) has posed:
Neva stands up, "Yay! Things to do!" She strikes a hero pose, "As the villainous Earthbender army pops out of from underground, Shen stands in their path!" She then shifts her tone to speak in character, "Your empire will not find victory today! We, the rebellion, will fight to the last man! And even if we die, our fire never will!"

She then strikes another pose, "I strike the Earth Benders, each in the pressure points to Block Chi, to render them unable to bend, in order to stall them!"

Fiera Kitsun (262) has posed:
Fiera shrugs gamely at Eve; setting the outpost on fire WAS kind of what she was thinking. It might not necessarily lure the Earth Kingdom soldiers in to investigate, but it might draw SOME of them. And the point was to try and get everybody out while the outpost was burning and the Earth Kingdom forces were distracted.

"Not much Hisui can do at this point but help people get away," she states. "But if what she knows about chi-blocking is any good at all for helping to *encourage* the flow of chi instead of *preventing* it, she'll be trying to help some of the people who aren't hurt quite as badly get that extra bit of oomph ..."

She's still talking when she leans forward, reaching for her dice. This is totally going to be a skill check - and she's going to need a REALLY good roll to overcome the penalty she's anticipating.

Sokka (1076) has posed:
Sokka nodded and then started describing the combat scene. Thrills, chills, there's a daring fight where the fire benders manage to make smoke, then the earth benders fling earth(he actually may start through rocks. Yes, something is broken.)

They manage to get about half the village out before the wall of wind collapses, however. They're then forced to retreat across the river, running for their lives, fleeing, jumping, the earth benders quickly trying to pursue, but the river is too much for them.(He covers Toph's mouth with a hand and pulls her to his side so she can't talk about how ACTUALLY they could just make an earth bridge. Sush. his story. It ends with them on the run, exposition, exposition, and then the drop.

"The man shakes his head and says, sadly... We do not know. The Avatar was never found." DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUN.

Toph Beifong (20) has posed:
Jekyll's words cause Toph to narrow her eyes just slightly, and it does look like she takes his words seriously.

Either way it seems like their campaign is going well enough, and none of their characters have died. Though she does look like she's just about to comment on the fact that Sokka of all people clearly should know that earthbenders can make bridges. Instead she's yanked to the side, her cheeks flaring up as he covers her mouth while pulling her close. Pardon her, she'll just sit there quietly, looking uncomfortable... at least for a few seconds until she jabs Sokka in the side with an elbow. "Fine, I get your point, Meat Head! SHEESH!"

The session for now is done however, and Toph sighs, brushing herself off. "Take some pizza slices and snacks with you, I'm sure Sokka will continue this another time." But at least it was fun, especially with Eve's character. That was the only thing that Jekyll did right, that dunderhead.
