Synopsis: | Reaper goes to murder a defenseless Reinhardt. Sombra comes along. But Reinhardt has friends watching his back! |
Cast of Characters: | Reaper, 1010, 1111, Sombra, 1102, 1120 |
- Reaper has posed:
There are some things you don't pull Concord resources for. There are things you don't even pull Talon resources for, because you can't really justify the activity. No, there are some things - some old wounds - that need to be handled personally. And that brings us to SWEDEN. It's dark, the clouded sky allowing only a few strips of moonlight filter through to the chilled ground below. Last blast of chill in late spring, the air carrying a crisp scent from the distant mountains even this far into the country. Lonely breeze fluttering and rattling chain link fences that surrounded the rubble - of the Swedish HQ. A broken statue of it's former commander still looking heavenwardly from its internment among the rubble, shattered corridors exposed to the elements. Plant life has begun to crawl once more amongst the remnants, covering the aging graffiti - some of it for Overwatch's memory. Some of it against. Some if it just marking territory, or advising one to call a certain holo-phone for good times. It was a haunted place of a different time, which the newest generation knows only by stories told by their young parents.
There had been talk of turning it into some sort of memorial to better times, but that idea stalled - and so the compound was left to rot, guarded by the smallest security firm that could be bothered doing the job. Which is why a small patrol car, engine running and yellow lights sweeping in circles, sits near the chainlink fence. That doesn't explain why the door is open, spilling the interior lighting across overgrown weeds. That doesn't explain the unanswered chatter of radio, or the flickering holo-screens. It doesn't explain the skidmarks where the vehicle had lost power to the hover units and slid.
It doesn't explain the missing guard, nor the request for backup to be on standby. A call long since unanswered.
How do you hunt heroes? You start with their memories.
- Reinhardt Wilhelm (1010) has posed:
Reinhardt had come to visit Torbjorn here in Stockholm, the old friends they are. A long night of drinking, song, and trading stories, there's nothing that has to do with Reinhardt trying to convince Torby to join the Watch, no sir ee.
Some words may have been said admittedly, choice words at that, but at the least there wasn't a bar fight this time. THe tavern can't exactly contain both Torbjorn AND Reinhardt when they're inebriated and fighting mad after all.
He'll have to sleep it off in the morning, as he heads for the inn Brigiette and him have rented for the night, rubbing his head. He's not in his armor right now, just wearing a t-shirt, jeans, and jacket.
He's almost too open a target right now.
- Laura Kinney (1111) has posed:
Laura Kinney had tagged along with Wilhelm, although she hadn't gone to the bar, or actually met with the engineer. Instead, she'd just discretely trailed Wilhelm most of the way, maintaining about a block's distance. You'd be surprised how little attention people pay to a teenager leaning against something with headphones on, bobbing their head to whatever music's in their head. Which, admittedly in Laura's case, was just the sounds around her. No need for distractions, and the hoodie was keeping her warm. No mask yet either. Those tend to draw attention.
- Sombra has posed:
"When will you ever give me a /real/ challenge, Gabe?" Sombra muses for herself as she leans forward from the back seat of the security car, her hands interfacing with the equipment in the vehicle. Well, she's busy working with one hand, the other holds onto some bizarre Swedish pastry, and she's busy munching on it. Heck, she'd even offered a pastry to Reaper. On their trip here she had been set on checking out the quaint stores and bakeries. New it might be, but some parts of Sweden remains the same. And everybody here seems rather set on the strange meal and practiced called 'fika'. So Sombra had bought coffee and a bag of strange pastries, and she's still not done eating them.
"Maybe we should go out again soon. Heck, if we finish this early maybe we can have a night off or something. You didn't drink anything the last time when we went out with Gaige," she points out, her mouth full of pastry as she works. But luckily for Reaper, his fellow agent isn't slow to bring up some screens. Looks like she's in, considering all the security cameras she's just gotten access to. And on one of them? Reinhardt can be seen wandering the street of a suburb to Stockholm. And behind him? A teenager in a hoodie, one that might be familiar.
- Kotone Shiomi (1102) has posed:
The call didn't quite go unanswered, it just got stuck in limbo a bit as the Paladins had no responders in the area, with it being outside their jurisdiction. Eventually, they decide to send someone just to take a look, the world is a hotbed of trouble after all. The only person remotely close and not otherwise occupied is Kotone Shiomi.
So when she arrives she's still wearing her school uniform, and there's a hockey stick bag on her back, and she's got one hand in her pouch. She keeps her eyes open, focusing on the initial people around. Reaper and Sombra remain outside her vision, but she does notice Reinhardt and Laura, and this slowly heads over to them, not quite sure this is the right spot, "Excuse me. I'm looking for the former Overwatch Headquarters?"
- Reaper has posed:
"Focus on the -mission-, Sombra."
Hisses a voice from the darkness. The chain fence rattles softly, and from the SUPER DARKNESS - well, medium darkness - steps Reaper. His cowl casting a sharp edged shadow across his sterile white mask, smoke drifing around him as he reforms from walking -through- the fence. Who climbs anymore? Behind him comes a soft, withered moan; The security guard, left in the ruins. DRAINED DRY! But not dead. Fortunately, the advent of the Multiverse brought all sorts of cure to Reaper's particular touch when it comes to the badly injured.
And then Reaper takes a moment to add to his usual grim words. ".. Only closers get cookies." A hint of what he once was, with that sardonic remark - only partially snarled. The mask turns towards the screen, watching the image of Reinhardt walking. A brief pause on the hooded teenager behind him, before she's dismissed out of hand - after all, he's only seen Laura once in person. And then Reaper straightens, his cowled head turning in the direction that the unarmored giant strolls through the streets. His voice almost seeming to drop an octave, as if in relish.
"... Give me your translocator." A clawed hand offered out.
Given or not, The Reaper will then dissolve, a cloying cloud of darkness quickly whipping away on the chilled breeze. If that translocator's given? It's going to be planted somewhere near the 'Mission Target', the Edge Lord reforming just long enough to do so before dissipating once again. Whisps of black smoke curl and sweep like liquid pollution along ankles and alleyways, the tribuaries becoming thicker lines as it moves past the Big Friendly (Slightly Drunk) Giant...
- Reinhardt Wilhelm (1010) has posed:
Reinhardt doesn't seem to notice anything just yet, as he ambles down the sidewalk like anybody else on the way home from the bar. Or pub, this IS Europe after all. He's not quite trashed, but he is definitely sluggish. Being as big as he is, it takes a LOT of alcohol to smash his sense of direction.
His old military instincts override his buzz, as he senses something in the alleyway as he spies something shadowy. Must be really late, later than he thought. Checking his watch, Reinhardt just grumps, wandering towards the hostel down the street. Just a few more blocks, and he can sleep like a bear.
Of course, there's always something. A small Japanese girl approaches him, and Reinhardt cocks an eyebrow. Maybe a tourist or an exchange student? But why is she asking about Overwatch? "...couldn't help you there, they've been shut down and underground for decades now." He says, trying to pass himself off as some other ruggedly handsome older gentleman who happens to be fucking enormous.
- Laura Kinney (1111) has posed:
Laura Kinney wrinkles her nose, slowing her pace a bit. Something smells.... wrong. Her eyes scan the area, one hand slipping into the pocket that contains her mask, ready to whip it out and pull it on. It's a good thing she'd worn her mission outfit, since every one of her instincts was telling her this was a trap. But from /where/? And then... a schoolgirl. Uniformm looks slightly familiar from the party she'd gone to. But why would they be out at this time of night, especially on a school night...?
- Sombra has posed:
A roll of her eyes, and Sombra turns her head slightly to glance at Reaper as he walks through the fence, obviously too cool to do the climbing thing. "I am focusing, unlike you I can multitask." Because eating and hacking is oh so hard, both things. Well, for some it might be hard, but a measly security system like this? It's nothing, even children can hack this. As a matter of fact, Sombra did hack into local law enforcement a lot while in primary school.
While Reaper studies the screens Sombra takes the chance to finish up her pastry, chewing on the dough and the chewy marzipan filling. "Eh, we're already going to get this done, so I thought I'd treat us early. No use in working on an empty stomach, huh?" When he holds out his hand though, Sombra can't help but arch an eyebrow at him. "What for?" Though she doesn't hesitate, unhatching the item from her belt as she places it in there. "Make sure you don't break it now, it takes time to build new ones." Still, it doesn't appear like the hacker distrusts her fellow agent. And once she understands what Reaper has planned...?
Sometimes it's easier to sneak in like this... Near Reinhardt and the others, the translocator comes to life, and Sombra materialises over it, picking it up and fastening it on her belt again. It's easy enough to hear them, and she can tell where Reaper is going as well. Better keep in radio contact. If the old Overwatch agent is without his armour... then it's going to be easy dealing with him. But what about the others? Sombra brings up her hand, activates her camouflage, then sneaks out and begins making her way after the group, her steps silent as she stalks them.
- Kotone Shiomi (1102) has posed:
The question she's asked has been deflected, and for a moment Kotone ponders moving on and asking someone else for directions, but then she notices the black wisps, and she narrows her eyes towards them, and opens up her mouth. "Watch out, there's something here." She warns the two she's talking to, "If you can fight, get ready. If not, get away."
Then she opens up her bag to pull out a Naginata and draws what appears to be a firearm from her purse, the latter is swiftly moved towards her temple, and she takes a few deep breaths. "PERSONA!" She pulls the trigger, there's shattering sounds as energy flows through her head, and then it coalesces into a massive skull, a snake slithering around and through it, and Kotone finishes her statement, "Loa, I summon you."
The persona starts to float behind her as she pushes the firearm in the hem of her skirt, and she starts to look around for hostiles, making sure to keep her eyes on the mist as well.
- Laura Kinney (1111) has posed:
Laura Kinney pulls the mask out of her pocket and brings it up to her face as the girl... shoots herself in the head. That... is definitely new. She tugs the hoodie off as well, letting it fall to the pavement. No reason to have her movement encumbered if a fight's about to happen. At least the black and grey X-Force color scheme doesn't stand out in the night too much, which was probably the idea. Her hands clench into fists, although her claws are staying in until she needs to attack. This is a major city, not like the smaller town, and there will probably be more witnesses if things get violent. For now, she could just be a cosplayer.
- Soldier 76 (1120) has posed:
It wasn't exactly a distress call, not really, but a name that had gotten Soldier 76 to respond. Without his armor...Well he knew that in most situations Wilhelm could handle himself, but not against Reaper and Sombra.
He had gone to the hostel where Reinhardt had been staying, but didn't have time to ask permission. He punched through the van's window, ripped off the steering column and hotwired it. He was now driving full bore towards where Reinhardt and Laura were, trying to make sure his old ally got the equipment in the back of the van.
- Reaper has posed:
Indeed, something IS there! A dark, echoing laughter that goes from wisping to a fully, growling sound. Someone's getting into their Bad Guy Headspace - boots slowly walking forward, grinding bits of the road beneath their heavy tread even as Kotone forms her LOA PERSONA - the soft clink of metal armaments hooked to combat armor. The ruffle of cowl. And then the sterile white mask, the street light cutting sharply across it. The sterile mask considers Kotone for a moment - the sword, the gun, the glowing mask - before it turns towards Reinhardt. His voice - so familiar, yet not. Growling, snarling, something Reyes never did until he was on the verge of breaking some green's ass for screwup. And never with that creepy reveberation.
"Turn in Bridgette for a newer model, old man?" Hands drop to his waist, and pulling two shotguns out of thin air leisurely. Raising them up, letting them cross just below his mask, as if he were some twisted saintly statue in the world's edgiest church.
"The Crusade is over.. time to join the rest of your -kind-." He nearly hisses. And - of course - Laura's out of his direct vision.
- Reinhardt Wilhelm (1010) has posed:
Better to ask forgiveness than permission sometimes, as Jack hot-wires the van without so much as letting Brigiette know what's going on. The van roars as Jack gets it going successfully, driving towards where Reinhardt is.
Of cours,e weapon or no, he's going nowhere. "I will handle myself fine, young lady." He assures Kotone, just before he sees Reyes form out of the shadows. "Not on your life, Reaper!" he barks, not even daring to move as he just stays there. "Go ahead, put an unarmed old man out of his misery. That's all you were good for." He says. Reaper isn't the only one who can dish out barbs.
- Sombra has posed:
From directly behind them something else appears in a purple shimmer as the camouflage is broken. A latino woman clad in synthetic materials, just a few feet behind Reinhardt as she draws her submachine gun... all with a determined and slightly amused look on her face.
- Soldier 76 (1120) has posed:
You know that van, it gets some nice air when it needs to. With Reaper threatening one of his old allies, he neglected to remember one thing. Monologuing gets you in trouble.
The van being driven by Jack slams through a fence to Reaper's left, and barrels straight towards the veritable ghost from Jack's past. Bet he didn't see this one coming.
- Laura Kinney (1111) has posed:
Snikt. As her hand claws slide out, Laura starts to sprint forward toward Reyes. Other fun fact about the X-Force uniform, the boot soles are pretty quiet if you're running on the balls of your feet. Reyes is the primary threat, the hacker's just as fragile as any other human. Time to try a similar attack to what she used against that large Grimm. She leaps as she gets within a few yards, foot claws sliding out in mid air as she attempts to kick footholds into the villain's back, one set of hand claws plunging into a shoulder while the other one goes for a stab at the side of the neck.
- Kotone Shiomi (1102) has posed:
"So you're the one who caused the alarm to go off?" Kotone asks Reaper in a tone of mild discomfort, but she also notices multiple people focus on Reaper, and she figures this persona is better suited for someone else, and there's that other entity she spots in the corner of her eyes, and so she points her Naginata that way, towards Sombra.
Darkness flows from the eyesockets of the persona, multiple dark purple flames twisting and turning as nigh-sapient manifestations of death itself, seeking out Sombra to try to terminate her lease on life.
- Reaper has posed:
A dark snarl, and the twin shotguns are lowered, aiming right - for - Reinhardt. Trading barbs back and forth all night? The man practically asked to be put out of his misery. That was all that the broken monster known as Reaper needed.
"Then.. -DIE-."
AND OH GOD THERE'S A BLADE IN HIS SPINE. The Reaper yells out, his aim jerked to the side as Laura plants one right into the lower lumbar like some deranged psychopath with knives for knuckles. Oh, wait. The explosive detonation of the hellfire shotgun ripping up stonework slightly to the side of the giant, Reaper spinning with this sudden new onslaught. However, Laura's claw slamming towards his shoulder? It meets thin air, slipping through smoke. His own clawed gauntlet looking to get a hold the back of her neck in a quick mist-and-twist, and slam her into the-
TRUCK
Crunch. Sprang. Clank, clunka-clink. That would be Reaper's half-formed self being sent spinning away by the mass of Jack's wild intro, even as Kotone turns her own DEATHLY SELF on Sombra. Reaper's cowled form bouncing along the road, a vague outline in the wafting smoke that grows and thickens. His shotguns left laying where they'd been knocked from his hands.
Nope, they're evaporating. Even as Reaper is climbing back to his feet, one hand gripping the caved in side of his armor. The other holding another shotgun, which fills the night with explosive BOOMS as he aims for JACK'S TRUCK.
"SOMBRA. Watch your side." He growls. But his attention is aaaaalll for the Overwatch agents. Where -did- Laura go..?
- Reinhardt Wilhelm (1010) has posed:
VANS
CLOAKING DEVICES
SUICIDE GHOSTS
REAPER
All of this is enough to give Reinhardt a distraction as he sees the van arrive in damn good time. "Typical Jack." He mutters, before he makes his way to the van with his keys. "Could you have done ANY more damage to that van?" He calls out to Jack, before going for the back door.
Inside is all he needs, and he suits up as the Crusader armor opens up to accept its wearer, Iron Man style.
One power up montage later, the towering Knight is ready as he can be while still a bit buzzed, as he grips his hammer, and throws up a shield while he goes to block the shotgun blasts.
- Soldier 76 (1120) has posed:
The shotgun blasts tear into the front of the van, and the driver ducks down into the cab, "Didn't think it'd be that easy, did you?!" He calls out to Reaper, his voice masked a bit by the faceplate but someone who's known him as long as Gabe should knwo who it is regardless.
The passenger door to the van is kicked off of the hinges, and 76 rolls out, coming up onto a knee and firing a burst of pulse rifle ammo towards Reaper's shotgun toting self. He rises up, firing again as he moves towards the back of the van, where Reinhardt and his shield are waiting, "Just can't stay out of trouble, can you?" He mutters to his friend, as he fires through the shield.
- Sombra has posed:
The hacker notices Kotone reacting to her attack, and rather than pushing the attack Sombra kicks back, barely avoiding the dark purple flames as they brush past her, making things hot for a moment. This brings Sombra into a backwards cartwheel, and she lets out a huff as she smirks at Kotone. "Quick reflexes, amiga...!" A voice that might sound slightly familiar to the distorted one that's been on radio for a while. Her left hand has reached down to her belt, and she throws something metallic up into the air above them towards one of the roof tops.
Then without warning, Sombra disappears into a purple particle lightshow, only to appear up where the item was thrown, high up into the air. Immediately she twists her body in midair, extending her left arm towards Reinhardt as her fingers move, causing purple lines to appear across his armour, but the most noteworthy effect is how the shimmering shield disappears, leaving the knight open to attack. "Reaper, now!" she calls out, just as she lands on the roof. One moment later she disappears again... because she knows that upfront combat is not something she can do. That's Reaper's deal, and it's better if she focuses on trying to create openings for him... by striking when they least expect her to. Which is why she runs across the roof tops, her foot steps barely making any sound as she makes her way towards Soldier 76. Laura she can't hack, so it's better to go for him to see if she can mess up his weapon...
- Laura Kinney (1111) has posed:
Laura Kinney luckily recieves Jack's warning over her earpiece just in time to go completely limp, bouncing off the passenger's side of the windshield as she's thrown clear. Fortunately, this means she didn't end up under the tires. Unfortunately, it means she's visiting that window air conditioner. *Crunchbangthud* Scrambling to her feet, the wet feeling on the left side of her body tells of sheet metal cuts and scratches, a twinge also indicating a cracked rib. It'll heal. She charges forward again, snagging a lump of brick from the alley which gets hurled at Sombra as a distraction more than anything else, before she dives low, sliding with claws outstretched to either side in an attempt to hamstring the shotgunner. Kotone should be able to keep Sombra busy...
- Kotone Shiomi (1102) has posed:
Kotone takes cover behind the shield as instructed, and from up close it may be obvious that her hands are shaking a little. Still, she keeps her eyes on Sombra and Reaper, as much as she can anyway, and focusing on Sombra. Having figured out her opponent is swift, she chooses something a little bit faster than death, and the snake of her Persona opens its maw.
Then lightning crackles right as Sombra does something to Reinhardt's shield, and with a crack of thunder it rushes towards the hacker, a dangerous blast of electricity summoned by the Persona, "You are both under arrest. Resist fighting now, and this will look better in court." She warns, "You are not obliged to say anything, but failing to answer questions may hurt you if later rely on those answers in court. You have the right to an attorney, if you cannot afford one, one will be provided for you."
- Reaper has posed:
"You always did love playing the hero, -Jack-." Begins a snarling Reaper, even as wisps of shadow roll away from his form. Like he was burning, without a fire - what grass bravely survived the pavements withering to yellow and then ash. And then he -becomes- a ghost, seeming to expand slightly as he turns translucent; That owl mask floating in the middle of whirling maelstrom of smoke, like an episode of Lost somehow found its way to Overwatch. Bullets zinging through him, to strike the wall on the far side - his voice becoming hazy in this half-way form - his snarling voice continuing as the giant's shields die.
"You're supposed to be -dead-." Time to take advantage of Sombra's opening, the hellfire shotguns thumping as he aims at the whole trio. Kotone, 76, and Reinhardt, all nicely grouped together. Shame about the range, it's just a -bit- too far. But he'll trade shots with 76 - he'll trade shots all day long if it means ENDING that story. BOOM! BOOM! BOO-snikt? Another strangled cry as the cowled man is toppled, hitting the ground. Black ichor splattering about Laura as she slides by, only to evaporate - the man rolling off to the side, getting back into his tactical mindset as he gets out of the direct line of fire. Legs steaming, smoke escaping from the torn ... flesh? Whatever it is. Clawed hands go up, gripping the edge of a window box.
Flowers wilt, yellow. Grey. Turn to ash. And he pushes himself back up, back against the alley to get some cover from Jack's gun. Shotgun hunting -Laura- for the moment.
"You cannot stop -death- itself." He snarls, in a called answer to Kotone.
- Reinhardt Wilhelm (1010) has posed:
Reinhardt is able to soak up gunfire, but then his shield gives out. "Oh that's not good." He better get used to that, because Sombra probably will do that to him until the end of goddamn time.
He can still tank, and does exactly that as he charges Reaper, hammer in hand. "KOtone, engage with Sombra!" He orders, before swinging his massive hammer at Reaper, trying to get him to play on the defensive so Jack can line up a shot. Laura does help with this, as she stabs him as she does.
"We can sure as hell try!" is his retort.
- Laura Kinney (1111) has posed:
Laura Kinney is luckily able to get back to her feet after her slide, mask protecting her eyes from that black goo. She's gonna need a real shower after this. She's peppered with buckshot, red dots speckling across her body as blood starts to flow. "Have you not learned by now? Shooting does not kill me." Another chunk of handy debris is hurled at the black figure, this time a length of pipe from the chain link fence thrown like a javelin. Not /quite/ closing into optimal shotgun range yet, the short barrels on those things limit him. But when he reloads....
- Soldier 76 (1120) has posed:
When the shield goes down, Soldier 76 turns to look for the source. The source is hard to miss, a purple clad hacker who's voice he recognizes, "So you're working with Gabe." He shoulders the rifle as he angles it towards her, firing several pulse rounds in her direction. Trying to make her break for cover, and therefor break the line of sight she needs to hack his gear.
Reaper is otherwise engaged at the moment, so he's not worried about him, "You should run while you can, you're outnumbered and outgunned, Gabe!"
- Sombra has posed:
It's only thanks to a warning from Reaper that Sombra manages to duck in time to avoid the brick, and she does throw Laura a questioning look before she continues on with her business of interfering with the defense. At least the shield goes down, and Sombra can't help but smirk with satisfaction. There's an opening for Reaper to assault the crusader, and in the meanwhile she can mess with good ol' Jack and--
For the most part, her thermoptic camouflage works wonders. It's harder for people to aim at her. Then again, with lightning it's a different matter. It's not like Sombra doesn't have several metallic items with her, she's even got metal partially implanted into her. As the lightning surges over the roof right as Sombra goes invisible again, the camouflage is broken as lightning strikes, causing the hacker to cry out as she stumbles and falls, slipping off the roof and falling to the ground nearby, some smoke rising from her gloves and tech. It appears that she's knocked out for now, unable to hear Kotone's spiel. At least she's breathing, and her limbs twitch slightly for a moment. But it's clear that Reaper isn't getting any more openings from the hacker after that attack that pretty much took advantage of one of Sombra's weaknesses.
- Kotone Shiomi (1102) has posed:
With Reaper appearing to be occupied with the others, and Sombra disabled for the time being, out come the handcuffs. The fancy handcuffs the Paladins issue for arresting elites with. She approaches Sombra carefully but swiftly, kneeling down next to the fallen adversary to try to put the handcuffs onto the subject. As she does so, her Persona slowly begins to fade out, leaving her pretty open if Reaper decides to back up his teammate.
- Reaper has posed:
And Reinhardt gets Reaper doing just that - bounding off the wall as Jack turns his fire on Sombra, spinning out on legs that are almost good as new. Well, they still hurt like hell, but when was that every new? The hammer swing clips him, turning his spin a little faster than he intended as Laura closes in again. That snarling retort:
"I always did like challenge." Both shotguns are suddenly flung at her; Reload? What's that? Two more are drawn up, the smoke curling away from him towards the ground. That old familiar push and flow of combat - sometimes, he almost understands Widowmaker's obsession with the thrill of it.
Which is when Sombra cries out. The reaction from the terrorist is almost instinctive. He falls -into- the ground, as if a hole opened up beneath him. His shadowy smoke flitting and reforming past all three heroes, right behind Kotone as she starts putting handcuffs on -his- asset.
A dark chuckle.
BOOM goes the hellfire shotgun for the novice Paladin. And then he's moving to scoop up Sombra, PRINCESS STYLE.
".. You'd better hope you always outnumber me, -Jack-. The moment you're alone - you're going to follow your precious OverWatch."
A hissed warning, before he flees! Fleeeeee! A normal guy couldn't sprint with someone over their shoulder. But Gabe and Jack? They've got Enhanced Soldier in them. Well, Reinhardt's a giant, so maybe he could just run flat out too. WHATEVER.
- Reinhardt Wilhelm (1010) has posed:
There is no time to call out. Instead, Reinhardt's boosters kick in, and he -thrusts- himself towards Kotone's position. "GET DOWN!" he yells loudly, grabbing the girl as Reaper holds up his shotgun.
The girl will be scooped up in his arms, and Reinhardt winces as he feels 12 gauge buck impact against his back like a hail of bricks. It -hurts- armor or no armor, and he's probably gonna need a chiropractor after this, assuming the pellets don't punch through steel plate and damage his skin.
- Laura Kinney (1111) has posed:
Laura Kinney slices the twin guns in half as they fly towards her, starting her attack as he moves to pull out new guns. The 'teleport' though... That's not something she can counter. At least Reinhardt keeps Kotone from being shot. Laura starts to go after the fleeing pair, but stops as she realizes there are teammates to evacuate. Grabbing her discarded hoodie off the ground, she tosses it into the still open back of the van, following it with the broken door. "We have to go. Local police are on their way, I can hear sirens. Do you need medical attention, Kotone?"
- Soldier 76 (1120) has posed:
As Repear retreats, Jack continues to fire at him until the pulse rifle goes empty, "You couldn't take me on your best day, Gabe!" He yells back at the retreating phantom, before turning back towards Reinhardt and the other two ladies, "Anyone hurt?" He asks, as he can hear the sirens in the distance as well, "Last thing we want to do is get caught out here in the open. If no one is seriously hurt we can lick our wounds once we're safe."
- Kotone Shiomi (1102) has posed:
Kotone is shoved aside, and while it doesn't technically save her life, as it wasn't going to kill her anyway, it does mean she gets off with some bruises and scraped knees instead of serious wounds from gunfire. She pushes herself up in time to see Reaper run off with Sombra and sighs, then looks towards Reinhardt, "Thank you, sir."
- Reinhardt Wilhelm (1010) has posed:
Nodding to Kotone, Reinhardt tries to ignore the searing pain in his lower back.
Of course, the shoe drops. "...Shit." Reinhardt realizes too late they will have to -bail- after this. "Please tell me that van is still working!" He calls out to Jack, before he calls Brigitte. He is greeted with the -angriest- German one could imagine.
"-WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON OUT THERE?! YOU TOLD ME TO TAKE THE NIGHT OFF, NOW THERE'S POLICE ALL OVER THE PLACE LOOKING FOR US YOU LUMBERING JACKASS!-"
"...we need to go."
"/Obviously! Stay right there, I'll be right over...once I get all our shit packed. Please get the van back here."
Reinhardt glances back at the van, hoping it's still working. "...we'll do that."
Kotone, Jack, and Laura are all welcome in the van, but they're gonna be greeted with -german rage- when they meet Brigitte at the hostel.
- Laura Kinney (1111) has posed:
Laura Kinney waits until everyone's in the van and taken care of, before taking care of her own injuries. Gritting her teeth, she grips one of the grab handles in the ceiling tightly as the pellets she'd been hit with are slowly pushed out of her wounds, clattering to the floor. "I am okay. This is why I was following you though, Reinhardt." The slightest hint of a smile causes one corner of her mouth to turn up. "They should think twice in the future." And fortunately for her, she's used to being screamed at, and is fairly decent at playing the 'innocent teen'. Plus, saving Rein's life has to be good for SOMETHING.
- Sombra has posed:
As Reaper makes his escape from the Watch and Paladin Elites it shouldn't be too hard for him to carry his fellow Talon agent. Sombra is smaller than him, and not exactly heavy. Though she does stirr a bit, her eyes fluttering open as she groans in pain. The last thing she remembers is seeing Soldier 76 firing in her direction, as well as the pain as Kotone did something...
Though she can't help but chuckle weakly despite the pain, raising one hand up to touch a finger to Reaper's mask. "... boop." Even if she's clearly hurting, she does smile a bit. "That could have gone better, huh...?" At least she doesn't wriggle or do anything to make it harder for Reaper to carry her. "Did you get any of them, Gabe?"
Too bad there were too many of them, and too bad that they had abilities that she couldn't counter.
- Reaper has posed:
A low growl comes from the hissing of Reaper's breath as he runs; He had half hoped Jack would follow him. They could finish that story the way it should have always been; Both of them dead, but only one of them walking. Mission failure was a setback, but it wasn't an ending; They'd failed plenty of times against the Omnics.
And look how that turned out. Just look at it. LOOK AT IT.
"My name-" He begins "-is Reaper."
Talk later. Run to a transit and get Sombra to medical first. Because that's how to take care of a Talon asset. Nothing more.
