The Rebellious Debrief - Concord
Date of Scene: 12 June 2017
Location: Summer
Synopsis: Reaper gives a debrief of someone else's mission! Because that's just the caring sort of asshole he is. Also, Sombra shows why people fear her.
Cast of Characters: Reaper, Sombra, 571, 1103

Reaper has posed:
For the past few weeks - ever since Talon became 'incorporated' with the Concord - Reaper, Master of the Edge and overall number one greatest villain in the galaxy super star, had been running debriefs of his own missions. Break downs of what went right, what went wrong, who was there and how to do it -better-. Of course, if he's going to make Concord run as smoothly as Talon did.. he'll have to expand that little courtesy to other people's missions as well.

Thus, calendars update across the board. While Reaper hasn't got rank to pull on anyone, the courtesy checks still appear. Sylvaria - Debrief. Which may be news to anyone actually invovled in putting down that fire, because Reaper wasn't a part of the action.

Thus we come to the debrief room itself - white-noise shielded, active camo and passive break lines for that high tech/low tech double whammy. Direct encrypted lines, and blowout exits on all eight calendar points in the event of attack. Paranoia? No, just too many elites in one spot at one time. Gabriel Reyes, the Reaper himself, stands in the middle of the round chamber, the flicker of holographic maps sending strange symbols across his mask. He had - of course - dragged his cyber-daught, that is, talon asset along.

"Full mission data is downloaded? Death does not wait for technical delays, Sombra - not this time." His voice is a growl, rasped and reverberated as if he were perpetually on the edge of a scream.

Sombra has posed:
"You seriously need to breathe, Gabe," Sombra says calmly as she checks the technical functions of the room, having easily hacked into it as she lounges in a chair with her feet up on the table. Then she slowly glances up at Reaper with an twinkle in her eyes. "Say, do you breathe now?" Hey, a girl can be curious, can't she?

Either way she turns back to settings things up for the debrief. She herself wasn't present at this mission either, but oh well. Might as well help good ol' Reaper with the debrief. He's certainly military enough to handle it. Must be from those Blackwatch days. "So here we go, mission data coming up on screen one for you there... the security feed will be on screen 2 shortly." Wait, security feed? Of course Sombra would get her hands on things that even he wouldn't have prepared beforehand. "Now, the list of operatives... You really have nothing else to do but to run debriefs?" Her tone sounds slightly bored, even as she works on getting things in order. And as always she makes it look so easy.

Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
Maaka can't say she was surprised to see someone this theatrical even in person. It's like a method actor, this 'Reaper', someone fully committed to the gimmick of a dark and lethal force of chaos.

She's got an unlit cigar in her hands, as she produces a lighter. "You don't mind if I smoke, do you?" She asks. Not like a guy calling himself 'Reaper' would be that much of a boy scout anyways.

The cyborg's regarding the death-masked mercenary with a cocked eyebrow. Is this what it's like when people see her STALKER suit?

She's starting to second-guess the death-mask of her own armor, now. "Mission data's been downloaded already. I checked." She says, trying to focus on the topic at hand.

Theurgus (1103) has posed:
"I can confirm successful acquisition of the previous mission's details. Grimoire even managed it in three hours." says Theurgus, cracking the seal on a red, stylized can of some kind of soft drink before taking a sip. "I do think we should have waited for the Major before doing this, it was her operation." a shrug. "Not that The Organization cares either way."

Reaper has posed:
"... Only a final breath passes my.. mask, now."

States Reaper, briefly pausing before altering the word 'lips'. He watches Sombra work for a moment, but what takes him an hour or so to setup she seems to do with a flick of her fingertips. Surprisingly, it's not annoying - because that's what she does. That's her talent, she was the tech head, the infiltrator, the nerves of his wet work spine. You don't bitch about the worms if you're looking for good tequila, and you don't bitch about the 'oddness' if you're looking for good talent. "If you're getting bored, Sombra, I can -find- things for you to do." He snarls, low and dark.

And then Alexis speaks. The cowled figure turns that sterile bone white mask towards her. While it's hard to say where he's looking, it almost feels like he's focused on her cigar for a moment. Before he growls, with a low and dark chuckle. "Your funeral."
Edge Dad Joke, Ahoy.

"Mission data's one thing. Hands on intel is another. That's what Sombra is for." His voice drops an octave, each word punctuated with an unusual stop like he'd dropped a period on each one. And then he motions for Sombra. "Recreated map based on dead-eye trajectory and last radioed position. Include call-in reports of hostile activity." He states. He could -order- it, but then there's no doubt she'd do something while his back was turned. His arms crossing over his chest, a faint creak of metal gauntlets as he turns his attention back to Alexis and Theurgus.
"The ... -invitations- .. were sent to all." He states to Theu, before addressing them both. "Let's start with the basics. Sylvaria had been incorporated, but the local regulars had refused to submit. Who authorized the mission, and what were your priorities..?"
You know, subtract the hot topic, eye shadow, and melodrama, this might almost be as boring as any debrief breakdown.

Theurgus (1103) has posed:
Theurgus sips from her drink again. "Concord command, via a new acquisition, The Major I mentioned. Small, looks like a child, has enough magical power to level a city block and a temper to go with it." she says, setting the can down on a nearby surface. "Priorities were: Destroy the base, and eliminate all rebels onsite."

Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
"Been dead before, it's overrated." Maaka says dryly, before lighting her cigar and puffing smoke like a dragon. She lets it go, before she watches the data. "Major Degurechaff authorized the op, it was her command. Like Theurgus said, we were here to search and destroy all hostile elements, and eliminate the fortifications."

Sombra has posed:
"Bored? Hardly!" the hacker responds with a laugh and obviously not intimidated by the snarling. "I mean, with all the information that I have to read through now I'll be busy enough for a while. Besides, if there's anything you want me to do, just /ask/, Gabe."

The arrival of the other people does catch Sombra's attention, and she offers a grin along with a finger wave. "Hola. Welcome to the party, have a seat, I'm just about done." Speaking of which, she only types in a few more things before the final screen lights up with the things that Reaper just requested. The things will be played out in order once Sombra gets the cue from Reaper. For now she sits back in her seat, bringing up another small screen for herself that she scrolls through. All while she pours herself a mug of coffee from the tray that stands on the table. It doesn't smell like regular coffee however... there's a spicy scent to it.

Reaper has posed:
"My name ... is -Reaper-."

Growls the dark cowled man aside, almost reflexively, as Sombra speaks. He then shifts his attention towards the map, with the little labels pinpointing the dots of the various strike teams. Hedgehogs, Pixies and Ravens. The dots occasionally flicker and adjust as new data on the recorded timeline comes in - new positioning, updated coordinates, and so forth. Using contemporary data sifting on old 1920's world magi-tech. He shifts his shoulder, looking briefly to Alexis now. ".. And I am -still- dead." For Theu, a slight tilt of the mask, and a growled: "Noted. Child soldiers seems a common theme." Like he's one to talk! Then the map revealing the fortifications and pill-boxes as they are uncovered. Potential fire lanes highlighted.

"Data analysis suggests an elite strike from hot-drop along a single lane; Overwhelming force put the result as mostly pre-determined. Considering your objectives, was leadership captured? Were any further sweeps done for secondary fortifications?" And finally arms drop, clawed hands flexing.

"And how could the reckoning for these rebel forces have gone better?"

Reaper has posed:
Also, indeed, there is coffee not mentioned in the opening pose. Something in it smelling both a bit spicey and a bit chocolatey. Because falling asleep during debrief is a terrible thing.

Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
"Not like this one." Maaka observes, letting the cigar hang in her mouth as the briefing goes for spreadsheets and power points. It's almost impressive seeing all the data in such an animated way, but given where Maaka's from this is downright simplistic for her.

"Personally, we made a mistake killing the lot of them. Despite her orders, I feel like we could've at least taken prisoners, interrogated them about any additional cells in the region. All we did was make a lot of noise and stomp out some ants." She puffs again. "I get the impression we'll be dealing with more rebel elements soon enough."

Theurgus (1103) has posed:
"To the contrary." Theurgus says towards Maaka. "A show of overwhelming force like this is likely to cause rebel morale to plummet and any further cells to either surrender, or give up their plans. They know if they try to make a move, they will be met with the same response, as many times as it takes."

Sombra has posed:
As always the only reply Reaper gets to his request for her to not use that particular nickname on him... is a wry smile.

Sombra watches the two Elites as they speak about the mission. "I have to agree with you both there," she notes, tapping a metallic nail against her chin as she ponders this. "Perhaps taken out the threats, kept a few to extract information from. I mean, it's a shame to kill them /all/ if they can be useful, si?" Here she glances up at Reaper again, arching an eyebrow. "I mean, if you people do your job too well it would be hard for me to do /mine/."

Reaper has posed:
A faint nod in Maaka's direction. "Yesss.. Living prisoners are a resource of intelligence, leverage, and example making. Death is a tool. Waste not.. " A thumb claw drawn across his own throat, small curls of smoke appearing where it rips through the fabric. Only for that fabric to knit back together. ".. Want not." For Theurgus, the mask turns again. And he nods at Sombra, as if to echo her sentiment.

"An idea can only wither if you put a bullet in every skull that has it. If you're going to murder someone or something, don't do it half-way. You've killed the easy enemy that stood in one spot; By Darwin, if anything is left, you've made it smarter and harder. Smaller means faster, easier to supply, harder to infiltrate, and you've no quick avenues to find them, now. If they find any contacts in the multiverse, their size won't matter - they'll be able to hit above their weight." A faint, angry hiss from the mask. "There'll be no rest until every potential rebel lays in a shallow grave. No one.. left.. behind."

"The Major'll need to find an analyst who is familiar with that level of technology, to know where they'll leap next. And one familiar with the multiverse's level of technology, to watch for tell tales signs of 'upgrades' - that'll put the final nail in their coffin." The sterile mask turns to Sombra, now. And you thought she was just here as the pretty face!

Theurgus (1103) has posed:
"In my experience, such shows of force are more than enough to dissuade all but the most foolish or stupid Viruses. Some even switched sides in my Drive, helping to bolster the defenses they once sought to tear down." says Theurgus to the Reaper. "And before you say it, they have all been vetted and have proven themselves in battle against their former bretheren."

Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
"Humans aren't always so smart. Just because you have the fancy toys doesn't mean you know what to do with them. There are constant reminders of seemingly overwhelming forces getting their asses kicked by natives that know what they're doing: Custer, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan." Maaka says, looking sidelong at Theurgus pointedly.

Sombra has posed:
"Dramático..." Sombra mumbles as Reaper gives his little speech. Though when he suggests that she should take part in stopping this rebellion, she gives him a deadpan look. "And what's in it for us if I do that? Does the Concord have an interest in this conflict, or is it personal?" My, is Sombra picky about what she wants to poke her nose into? Seems so.

Reaper has posed:
"Which is where it pays to be... proactive."

States Reaper for Maaka, his voice a low growl despite the rather mild words. Then speaking to Theurgus, that snarl and snark in his voice - something he just can't seem to shake. Or doesn't want too. "I'll leave experience of your world to you - but this war seems to match what I expect. From a mortal perspective."
And then Sombra! "The mission, first. And that overarching mission is Concord - for now." He states, before arms cross over his chest again and he regards all three.
"Any further notes beyond 'prisoners'? Any future sweeps looking for surviving... relatives?"

Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
"Sort of. Basically the First World War, with magic shit flung about. I can deal with that much." Maaka says, fiddling with the cigar as she holds it in her fingers. "That's up to Tanya to decide what's in it for /us/. As for prisoners, we may have neglected acquiring any intel on-site, but again, that's her problem. In the future, I'd recommend at least making an effort to sweep up afterwards."

Sombra has posed:
"Gotcha," Sombra nods in response to Reaper, though she does take a large sip of coffee and turn her eyes back to her private screen where she's typing away at something. "I gotta warn you though, this magic thing? Not my style."

Her head turns, and she looks at Maaka. "You up for some Tequila after this?" When the meeting is over. Which it could perfectly be in Sombra's mind.

Reaper has posed:
"It's for her to offer; Inevitably, it becomes our problem." Begins Reaper, before his growl lowers even further. "Which means it's my problem. An my problems have a very short life span." And then the offer of booze and friendship is made - time for a Lord of the Edge to depart! Because who wants to be around for booze and friendliness? Noooot him!

"So. Future operations of this calibre.. we suggest prisoner capture, and post-operation sweep for any bones left in the muck." He states, wisps of smoke beginning to rise from his form. Because every debrief so far has ended with a dissolution! And so should this one!
"Consider this meeting -dead-." He quips in that same dark, snarling tone, before his middle dissolves outwards. Smoke flowing and twisting upon itself, more and more of him collapsing into it as it swirls away. Yaaay!

Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
POOF! Reaper disappears after a dramatic exit, and Maaka just kind of waves away smoke when the mercenary leaves.

She stamps the cigar out, and Sombra makes an offer that is downright dead-on for what she has in mind. "Desperately." She grins. "Got a place in mind?"

Sombra has posed:
Seeing Reaper behave like thisis nothing new, and the edgy departure only makes Sombra look at him briefly before she turns her attention back to Maaka. "Pay no attention to him, amiga. He's like this aaaall the time. I should hack his music collection or something," she muses to herself, not really caring if he's still listening in on them. Rather, she grins and swipes away the screen, making it dissolve into a thousand little particles. "I know just the place where we want to go. We need to go through some warp gates to get there, but eh... good drink is worth it."

Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
"He's making me look downright subtle." Maaka observes dryly, before looking Sombra up and down. The hacker certainly ain't bad to look at, and she can't help but grin crookedly. "This gonna be a social call, 'cause if I didn't know better this sounds like an impromptu date to me. Not that I mind, of course." She winks.

Sombra has posed:
"He makes everybody look subtle, really," Sombra says with a shrug, finishing her mug of coffee as she rises from her seat. At the comment however, she arches a split eyebrow at the other woman. "Amiga, I'm honored, but... it's just that school girls aren't my thing," she states with a smirk, all while she brings up her hand and opens a window. "I mean, I'm sure other people would find that cute, but..."

Alexis Maaka (571) has posed:
    Maaka...twitches a little.

That goddamn outfit was going to bite her someday, she knew it, everyone knew it. And now her attempts to look suave just smacked her in the face. "...I..." All she can do is just force that shit-eating grin, as if there's nothing wrong. Yet she's just /seething/ someone has access to that Flit-Out rig.

Goddamn you, Nagato. This is all your fault.

"...let's just go get some drinks."

Sombra has posed:
Keep on grinning. Because Sombra certainly is grinning where she stands, looking over something. "I mean, I can get some of your interests based on your search history, though... yeah, I'm sorry, amiga. It could never work out between us. I could help set you up with some other girls based on this search logaritm though?" she offers, all before she walks over towards Maaka, throwing one arm amiably over her shoulder. At least she doesn't seem to be upset at the other girl. At worst it's just a chance to pull her leg. "But yes, let's go and drink some Tequila. This faction needs some more drinking buddies, we can't all be as stiff as Gabe is, huh? Vamonos!" Maaka better be prepared to be hauled off by Sombra, who seems rather intent on leaving this dreary room behind. Perhaps it's Reaper's smoke or something, lingering and making everything seem so /dreary/.
