Princess vs Blaster!
Date of Scene: 11 February 2019
Location: Shrine of Adversity
Synopsis: Just a friendly battle between a princess and a DCC.
Cast of Characters: Sarracenia, 1103

Sarracenia has posed:
Sarracenia waits in the middle of a grassy field that she has programmed the Shrine to create, hammer held like a staff beside her. She has put out a radio request for a challenger, and now awaits the DCC who responded. It has been a little while since she was in a proper battle, and she likes to keep herself prepared in case she has to respond to something without warning.

As usual for these matches, she is wearing her self-named and self-designed battle dress. It is smooth black leather with red armor pieces rivetted onto it, and the skirt consists of broad strips rather than a solid piece in order to allow her mobility, modesty, and protection at the same time.

Theurgus (1103) has posed:
Theurgus, The self titled Mad Magician, steps into the field, smoothing out her coat-dress with one hand while her other holds a long silver spike. Blue eyes trace across the landscape, then settle on the Princess before approaching. "Lady Sarracenia, I presume? Grimoire and my little sister told me that you helped them with a Poochooze outbreak while I was away from the Drive... so I am certain of your caliber." she says, offering a grin. "Anyone who opposes The Organization is a friend of Locus. This is why I have brought my Relay, you shall fight a Goddess at her full power."

At that, the DCC turns, and hurls the spike so it lodges into the grass a good distance away. There it unfolds like a flower, extending some kind of antenna that begins receiving a beam of sorts. The DCC turns back, and with a flourish, summons her transformation. "ACCESS!"

A pillar of light engulfs the bluenette, and after a moment, a woman of regal bearing, wearing a tight body suit with a half-skirt around her hips floats where the Mad Magician stood. Clockwork wings flare, a gemstone set into the various assemblies of clockworks and magic glowing a pale green, looking almost wisp-like. In her left hand appears a staff, its head a geodian knot that suports a marble that changes colours through a rainbow. "Now... shall we begin?"

Sarracenia has posed:
Sarracenia smirks lightly at Theurgus's introduction. "I did, though I am not sure what this Organization you speak of is. Are they spawning those creatures?" She watches the deployment of the relay, then blinks at Theurgus's transformation before her eyes widen a bit. "Oh my. What an impressive outfit!" she says with a smile, taking time to appreciate all the elements. The gems in particular draw her attention of course, but then entire outfit is one that Sarracenia could see herself wearing.

She smirks as Theurgus suggests they start, then gives her huge hammer a fancy flourish of a twirl about her body, ending with it thrust toward Theurgus. "Whenever you are ready!"

Theurgus (1103) has posed:
Theurgus floats back a few feet, twirling her staff in a flourish. "The Organization's claws sink deep into many affairs. Outbreaks such as that one are but symptoms of their corruptive influences." she explains, then tilts her head at Sarra's remark. "A Goddess' garb is more than merely an outfit!" she states, before sweeping her staff, sending a barrage of flaming bolts at the Princess, the marble at the cap of the staff shifting to an orange-red as the energy flows into it, then lenses out at its target. She doesn't speak a spell name, this is some base level magick.

Sarracenia has posed:
The princess is still admiring that outfit when she is hit. She yelps and hops back, then huffs. "That does not mean it is not impressive!" she exclaims before running in a strafe around Theurgus. "Fine! If that's how you want to play it!" She reaches into her satchel as she runs and pulls out a few of her cutest weapon. The Bob-omb! Three of the little black bombs with the big plushie-like eyes are produced, and then thrown at Theurgus one after another. "Can a goddess...not accept a compliment...without viewing it as an insult?!" she yells between explosions.

Theurgus (1103) has posed:
"I did not view it as such, merely correcting you!" remarks the DCC, lifting further off the ground and shifting to dart away on wing as those bombs explode. They shower her with shrapnel, scoring angry red cracks in her outer texture, looking like deep bloody gashes, but showing damaged codework within.

Theurgus wings over, and begins to chant briefly. "Burst and shatter, rend and sunder. OXYN MALUS!" as she passes over Sarracenia's head, the DCC unleashes a storm of cutting winds, a swirling vortex centered around the Princess' feet.

Sarracenia has posed:
Sarracenia is picked up and shredded by the cutting winds, leaving many a tear in the leather of her dress and scratches all over the various metal plates while she is lifted up into the air. "H-hey!" She reaches down to try and hold her skirt down, fearing a dress over an air vent moment until one of those wind blade hits her cheek and leaves a rather noticable cut. "Mmph..."

She maneuvers until she is free of the whirlwind, then pulls out a large red leaf and presses it against her forehead. In a puff of smoke she has gained raccoon ears and a tail, and she takes off into the air after Theurgus. "So, what makes it more than an outfit, then?" she says back as she comes spiraling in, using the rotation to add some unpredictability to her swing.

Theurgus (1103) has posed:
Theurgus turns in the air, bringing her staff up defensively as Sarracenia bears down on her with that swinging hammerblow. Interlocking blue hexagons form in the path of that strike, but shatter after only an instant of holding back the blow, allowing it to slam into the DCC's side. A spiderweb of angry red code flares at the impact point, while the DCC spins and tries to correct herself in the air.

"It is a signal of my station, my armour and my burden." she replies, then swings her staff with a practiced precision, aiming to get within Sarracenia's optimal swinging distance for that heavy hammer.

Sarracenia has posed:
With Theurgus so close Sarracenia can do little to avoid the attack, but in the air the hit is strong enough to knock her away a short distance. And causing her ears and tail to disappear in a puff of smoke. She blinks, then falls like a rock. But, she rides the head of her hammer down and it serves to cushion her fall with a shockwave when it hits the ground, causing a small crater. "Burden? How can it be a burden to be a goddess? You must be doing it wrong." she says, wincing and holding her side where the staff hit.

She huffs softly, then considers a moment. "Alright, since you showed me enough respect to use your full power, I'll do the same!" She reaches into her satchel and pulls out...an intricate-looking black box with a big red button on it. "I hope you are ready! Well...actually I don't!" she says before hitting the button. She drops the box afterwords and runs back, and it starts unfolding. Steadily it forms into a very large cannon. Not long, but tall enough that someone could stand up inside the barrel. Once it is formed...something slides forward from within. Something with a shark-like face. The tip of a massive bullet pokes out of the cannon, then thunderous KABOOM it launches into the air after Theurgus. It is not particularly fast, but it is very large and actually follows her. "Behold! The Banzai Bill!!" Sarracenia exclaims with a bit of a crazy grin as the huge black missile rockets its way toward Theurgus.

Theurgus (1103) has posed:
Theurgus twirls her staff, and answers with a soft tone... one unsuited to a 'Goddess'. "It is my burden to care for my people. One I carry proudly... if you say that I am 'doing it wrong', then I am afraid you are a fool." she frowns. "I have lost some of my respect for you with your words." She brings her defenses back up as Sarracenia brings out that rocket launcher. She watches it approach in that inexorable fashion, and attempts to dodge, being surprised by the fact it's a homing weapon. Blue hexagons shatter in a buffering effort, but the DCC is scorched and blackened as she falls from the air, trailing smoke.

Diamond Soul stands, supporting herself with her staff before she gets her feet under her again. "An interesting weapon... I would like to study it." she remarks, covering her face with one hand before she begins to laugh. It's unhinged, crazed even, like the laugh of an Evil Genius... and then it's over. "Heed me. Darkness and Crimson, buried by time I summon the abyss. Passage of Memory and rite of Process, grant unto me thine power, grant us a boon to destroy all that stands before us! Conflagration Dust. HELLFIRE FURY!" The incantation causes a massive spell circle to draw into existence, and within, erupts a massive plume of flames, hurling a localized apocalypse at the Princess!

Sarracenia has posed:
Sarracenia blinks as she hears Theurgus's words. "...w-...WHAT?!" She looks actually kind of hurt for a moment, then she growls in anger before blinking again as she realizes something. She just stands there contemplating, and even though her eyes widen when all of that hellfire and apocolypse she doesn't try to avoid it.

The fire engulfs her, and the princess's form seems to disappear in the flames. The shrine room resets even before all of the destruction has ended, and Sarracenia is standing there still, looking at Theurgus. "...I..." She hesitates, then rubs at her face. "...I am sorry. Apparently it is not only princesses that sometimes have troubles that someone of their station does not usually face." She pauses there. "...of course, I do not really know much about being a goddess, and even less about your particular world. I only know that goddesses of myth usually live posh, care-free lives."

She pauses again, then shakes her head and laughs at herself. "...yet both who I have met personally who claimed to be goddesses seem to be quite burdened. King Rhongomyniad, and now you." Theurgus may not really appreciate how rare it is for Sarracenia to be humble -and- admit it -and- apologize. The princess closes her eyes for a moment, then takes a very deep breath before letting it out slowly. "Thank you for your time, Lady Theurgus." she says, then curtseys politely. "I do not wish to trouble you any further, so I shall take my leave unless you object."

Theurgus (1103) has posed:
Theurgus breathes a sigh of relief as the system triggers and resets. She dismisses her staff, and releases her transformation, using a big of magic to pull the Relay out of the ground and return it to her grasp, where it joins her staff in inventory. "Apology accepted, Princess." says the Mad Magician, striding over to place a hand on Sarracenia's shoulder. "It takes a truly strong person to admit they are at fault... you have regained some respect." she confides, offering a sly smile. "Also, myths and legends, while holding a grain of truth at their core, are often fanciful and exaggerated. Do not take them as factual accounts of how those of divine nature truly existed." she adds, shifting to give Sarracenia a side-hug.

Sarracenia has posed:
Sarracenia stops when that hand is placed on her shoulder, and barely raises her head enough to look at Theurgus. There's a bit of moisture visible in her eyes, but she coughs lightly and looks away quickly. She gasps softly in surprise at the side-hug, and regains a bit of a smile. "Well, until one meets actual beings it is the only source of information one has available." she says, then wipes at her eyes and gives Theurgus a full hug. "Tell me...what do your people think of you?" she asks before pulling back from the hug. She looks off to the side, expression now distant as if she is reflecting on things.
