Date of Scene: 06 May 2019
Location: MECC Fighting Stage 3
Synopsis: Alexis vs Alea match
Cast of Characters: Alexis, 6835
Tinyplot: MECC

Alexis has posed:
It was time to get another match-up notched out of the way. Though unlike the last couple of fights this was someone Alexis wasn't familiar with and didn't get a chance to watch the other fights of. Which is okay, it just makes the matter a bit more challenging, which is really a good thing.

The Trainer takes her place at one end of the designated arena, idly tossing one of the trademark spheres in one hand. Without familiarity she had to rely instead of versatility and a companion that she knew very well. Which she was waiting to release until the fight actually starts, so her opponent is at least on the same footing of not knowing what they would be up against. Or so she hoped at least.

Alea (6835) has posed:
Where is Alea anyways? She's not entering from the normal way, the tunnel just... empty. At least until the crowd looks up towards the flying DCC slowly descending into the arena, twirling her spear before dropping down to the ground with a bounce. "Ah, hello hello my wonderful crowd! How are you all today!?" she shouts, listening to the cheers and boasting before she turns to her opponent.

Alea... or in this case Emerald Soul, tilts her head, "Ara? A girl with a red and white ball?" she tilts her head, "Well, this is new, I'm Emerald Soul, the DCC of Arcade. I take it you are Alexis?" she pauses, "I'll let you go first if you're my opponent."

Alexis has posed:
Alexis tilts her head to the side for a moment. Arcade? ... So she's from some kind of game world? Huh. Not the weirdest Multiverse thing she's seen in her time, but it strikes a certain amount of peculiarity all the same. "I am, yes." This time she snaps her fingers to grip the pokeball as it lands in her palm again. "I'm your opponent... But I'm more the controller than the combatant you could say." She takes a step forward and pitchs the sphere towards the center of the arena. "Let's go, Kasai!"

Maybe Alea is familiar with the concept of summoners. Then this would probably look something similar as the pokeball expels a surge of energy that consolidates itself into an elegenat canine form.... That proves to be a bit more than it seems as reddish eyes lock onto Emerald Soul, and what first appears to be one large tail forming behind the creature instead splits to fan out into nine. Just it's presence feels like the ambient temperature in the room is increasing from it. "Niiinetales~" Lithe paws hit the ground only for the graceful white-gold vulpine to break into a sprint.

Alexis isn't going to give her opponent too long to mull over what's going on, just make it clear who's the real opposition here. "Take her fast and strong, Quick Attack!" The sprint hastens, the bright colors of her form blurring as she takes a lunging leap towards the DCC!

Alea (6835) has posed:
"Awww, such a cute fox." pause "Wait, that's a kitsune, right? One of those mythological beings." a pause "So, no attacking you, but attacking the..." oh, it's on the way. Emerald Soul leaps up into the air, but the lunging leap knicks her leg, sending digital lines of code leaking from the small wound, "Oh, okay. I see."

Emerald Soul frowns a bit, "I feel very bad for doing this, so don't take it personal." Emerald Soul's speartip glows lightly before she dives down to swing the spear like a golf club "Time to take that monster for a bit of a swing shall we?!"

A trail of wind comes behind the spear, a razor sharp current to try and at least get the Ninetales if it dodges the actual physical blow.

Alexis has posed:
Alexis actually chuckles a little at the response. "Don't worry over it. Pokemon are trained for battle." It's not the first time she's had to reassure someone it's okay to strike back. "Its practically a competative sport where we come from."

The choice in Emerald Soul's tactics does exactly as she intends. It's no surprise the vulpine is agile enough to jump back and away from the swinging spear, but the gust of wind that follows it catchs her off-guard. Kasai is sent spinning backwards into the air, though after a moment her tails flair to restabilize herself and she lands in a crouch, her eyes already glowing more brightly than before.

"And yeah, pretty much." Alexis continues, smirking. "Give her a taste of your 'magic' Kasai." "( Gladly )" The vulpine crouchs forward a bit more to raise her hindquarters, tails swaying to one side and the other much like the way flames would crackle. That thermal energy passively rippling off her form spikes abruptly, sending out a surge of superheated air that is not as potent as a direct attack but covers a wider area with it's wave-like spread.

Alea (6835) has posed:
"Pokemon, huh?" a pause, "I have a game in Arcade that has cute monsters to attack other cute monsters, I wonder if we're on the same wavelengh!" Alea lands finally from the attack only face the Ninetales again, "I still apologize for hurting them but if you say it's okay, then perhaps i can make it up after this."

Emerald Soul gives a bit of a grin at the Ninetales, watching the recovery, "I'm going to have to program that into a three dee version of the game. Something they can use with a Virtual Reality headset!" a pause, "Magic?" and suddenly it got very hot in here, there's sweat dripping off the DCC, the heat wave from the fire-type actually causes a couple small burns upon the skin-showing DCC.

"Let's see you try to melt this, Sylhet Spear!" enduring through the heat wave, a green circle appears next towards the DCC and soon, launches out a large spear! An steel head and twin tree trunks entwined from it!

Alexis has posed:
Whoever this gal is, she's quick on her feet. But they've got to deal with first things first. "Be ready for the counterstrike!", Alexis encourages. It helps to keep her companions focused, even if the Ninetales isn't one of them that's as likely to go off on a pyromanic spree... Though she is one that might get mischevious and even chaotic if it suits her mood. It's a kitsune thing.

As the attack is launched Kasai braces and opens her mouth to spew out a stream of flames. It's an attempt to intercept the attack, but the spear head splits the flames more effectively than one would expect. Despite looking like it's metal and wood. Just another reminder that the elemental oppositions don't apply equally against things that aren't other pokemon.

It definately surprises the fiery fox when the attack pierces her flaming defense and slams into her. "Ta!" The vulpine yelps as she's knocked tumbling backwards from the impact, this time without all the graceful recovery of before. All those tails flailing about makes it hard to tell when exactly she stops, but they eventually sweep together and around as she gets back onto her paws.

Alexis cringes a little in sympathy. Kasai, on the other hand, looks rather vindictive as a darkness flickers in her eyes, and a shadowy miasma whisps from the tips of her tails. Much like her mythical counterparts she proves to be capable of being malicious when angered, throwing her head up in an eerie howl as the pain she just suffered is focused and hurtled right back at Alea in a phantasmic retaliation.

There may be some truth in those Pokedex entries about how vengeful an angered Ninetales can be...

Alea (6835) has posed:
Emerald Soul's attack soon dissipates after it smashes right into the firey fox and she visibly winces, "Eeesh, I'm sorry, that looked like it really hurt." No duh Alea. "YOu have more so you don't overwork the poor fox, do you?" she calls out, "No need to keep this one on the field if she's in so much pain from that!"

Emerald Soul looks a bit concerned at the Ninetales, that darkness in her eyes and she shakes her head, "You really want to win for her, don't you?" she questions to no one in particular, "Very well, Kasai. Bring it on, we're not done yet, are we?" That shadowy phantasmic attack launches and it starts to chase after the airborne DCC, who's doing aerial maneuvers to try and dodge the attack, rolling here, ducking down... she's giving a show to the audience with it!

Until it catches up and blasts her out of the sky and straight into the ground with a heavy bounce and a small crater. There's a loud cough and she slowly stands back up, shaking her head with a smile. "That's what I want to see. Keep it up."

Emerald Soul reaches back and soon launches her spear forward with a multitude of energy spears following right behind in a circular pattern surrounding the spear like options! "I recommend dodging, Kasai." she comments, chasing after her spear now to go back into melee with the fox of fire.

Alexis has posed:
Alexis frowns a little in concentration. Emerald Soul was a quick and versatile opponent, and while tricky Kasai only had so many options to contend with such a foe. Which meant they had to get a little more creative.

Ponytail gave a dramatic flick behind her as Alexis dug a heel into the ground and clenched her fists, determined even if she wasn't the one throwing the attacks directly. "If there's one thing we never do, it's give up just because a fight is tough. Right girl?" "Ni!" barks the fire fox in reply, already preparing herself. That little darkness tantrum seems to have calmed her back down, even as the Core Controller winds up to watch another attack. Which.. Alexis snaps her fingers. That's it!

"Kasai, linear Fire Spin! Then jump in!" The peculiar order wasn't questioned, as Alexis trying to adapt their tactics on the fly. THe Ninetales opens her mouth to unleash a bright orange flame that spirals away from her, spinning wider and wider as it surges forward and the fire fox leaps into the flaming funnel. The outwardly spinning plumes catch and throw away the outside ring of spears. Kasai speeds down the center, twisting to the side as she meets the spear that was the center of the attack, though it's not a clear manuever and the weapon cuts across her side as it whips past the fox.

Rushing after her attack might of been risky, but the vortex of flame seems to be spreading out wider by that point, meant more to disperse the attack than hit the opponent. Though as it winds apart.... Where's the fox? Wasn't she in the middle of it? Where did she go?

Remember how she started the fight moving fast enough it was briefly blurred. She did that within the vortex and blurred with the spreading flames, to the point she seems to literally leap out of the vortex's trail to try and catch the Core Controller blindside!

Alea (6835) has posed:
"Good, I would hate it if you did give up." a pause, "Because this fight has no continues and you're on your last credit!" Emerald Soul continues her descent into the fox, winding up for another attack as she hears the commands given to Kasai. Not able to actually adjust her own self from this, committing to her own attack, she runs right into the Fire Spin flames! But wait, where was the fox? It was there, wasn't it?

Nope, Kasai's attack smashes right into her back and sends her back into the ground, bouncing once more with small burns covering her body once more, slowly getting replaced with code to try and fix it up, at least, cosmetically... they still hurt like hell!

Slowly, she gets back up and tilts a bit into her spear, digging it into the ground, panting some. "Well, I see that you're still fired up." she jokes, "It's going to take more than that to actually finish me off, Kasai and Alexis. I /am/ the DCC of Arcade, in Digital Divinity!" with this, she twirls her spear and then dashes the fox once more! "I'll do my best!" there's a bounce... and she runs right past Kasai, hoping to slash with the spear once more, and soon follow it with another rapid burst of wind, "Kyuu~" and a pose for the fans who just eat it up!

Alexis has posed:
"You won't blow out this fire that easily!" Alexis retorts... but doesn't give a command. At least not a vocal one. She just points to both sides. Because sometimes shouting is a little too obvious, and the more clever pokemon can pick up on non-verbal cues very quickly.

It is enough to get the message across. As Emerald Soul rushes towards her with the spear the kitsune-like pokemon runs right back towards her.

Then just as the spear is swung to swipe at her Kasai jumps, her supernatural energies leaving afterimages in her wake via Double Team. It's one of those that the spear swipes into as the kitsune leaps gracefully over the attack. How quick will Alea realize she didn't actually hit the fox?

Alexis doesn't want to give her long enough to do so. "Now!" The Ninetales lands at a skid, quickly turning back towards her opponent, and Alexis snaps out an arm dramatically. "Solarbeam!" Wait, why would she call for a charge-up attack at this poi--

--Because this Ninetales posesses the Drought ability, that's why. All that heat she radiates doesn't just spike the room temperature, it can be channeled into powering the laser-like attack that blasts out of her mouth with that thermal energy instead of absorbing solar energy at a critical time like this.

Alea (6835) has posed:
Alea hears the gasps of the crowd and she tilts her head, "But, I hit them." she comments, and she turns around... the after images of the fox cause her to make a small frown, "Well, that's new." she whispers, "Never thought about after images to defend, I may have to implement that!"

Her ponderings get cut /very/ short with the sudden Solarbeam attack being launched right towards her, using the confusion in her actions to slam right into her and send her right into the wall, "Kyaaaah!" comes a loud pained noise from the DCC as she slumps down from the Alea-shaped hole in the wall.

She coughs and turns towards the Ninetales, "Okay, I have to say well played." She steps forward, her hands clapping at this... "You're doing quite well for a trained fox." a bit of an ego boost and she huffs, "I don't really wish to lose to a commander and her pet though."

Emerald Soul brings up her spear... and launches herself forward once more, trying to knock the Ninetales up into the air, and just chase it with rapid sweeps of her spear from many different directions!

Alexis has posed:
Alexis shakes a finger. "They're not just 'pets'. These are my comrades. My brothers and sisters in arms." Then clenches that hand into a fist. "The bonds of friendship and determination are stronger than people realize."

Though just because they're edging out ahead in the fight doesn't mean that it's not taking it's toll. Kasai can't move quite fast enough to move another tricky maneuver and gets snagged by the spear to be slung into the air. Thinking quickly Alexis shouts, "Use Calm Mind!" They seem to be on a similar wavelength as Kasai can't do much to repel the flurry of attacks, so instead closes her eyes and focuses, curling up and wrapping her tails around herself as they glow with some of her elemental power. It at least takes the blunt of the assault on the multiple plush appendages and shields her from getting stabbed somewhere more vital as she's launched by the attack.

Its when she finally gets flipped away with the final blow that Kasai unfurls her tails, and turns the rest of the energy she had been focusing into an attack, unleashing a scorching stream of fire from her mouth!

Alea (6835) has posed:
Emerald Soul nods, "I see, just like the denizens of my Drive and my fellow DCC's." she smiles as her attack finishes, leaving that Ninetales there... "Calm Mind?" she mutters, tilting her head as she hmms... but when the Inferno comes, she's there to react to it properly and let it graze across her, scorching her code and her 'armor', blackening part of her body and whatever covers her there... and one of her wings.

"Well, this isn't going so well for it, I can feel my Digital Divinity trying to decompile all around me. Looks like I only got one shot at this!"

Alea twirls her spear, "But just like you and your partner, me and my spear work hard to defend our Drive and this tournament too! I'm afraid it's going to be Game Over for one of us, and I really hope it's not me!" Emerald Soul goes back to one of her old tricks and multiple portals start to appear in the air, surrounding the arena.

"I don't have a name for this one, but I'm sure it'll get the point across!" hundreds of tiny energy spears launch from those portals to crash down on Kasari, convinently avoiding Alexis and even curving AROUND HER to get to the point of contact, that fire type fox!

Alexis has posed:
Alexis takes a step back as the portals start appearing. "Oh that's not good..." Long story short, literal portals don't come up very often, that's a shtick very few Pokemon, or monsters in general, actually utilize. Especially in that many numbers.

Not to mention a few of the spectral spears appear from behind her. They move to not hit Alexis, but that doesn't stop her from jerking in surprise when they do shoot past. Even not attacked, it's a distraction. "Look out!"

The first couple of spears Kasai manages to hop and weave out of the way of. That's about it though. The fox is panting from the effort, she's not the kind of fighter for drawn out fights like this and Alea was already pushing her to the limits. A few spears she can maneuver around. When literal dozens come from all directions at once, there's scrap all the Ninetales can really do. For whatever reason the volume of striking points kicks up a Ball'O'Violence cloud of dust and debris. Which just leaves one vexing vixen vanquished, squirly exhaustion eyes and all.

Alexis just rubs the side of her head a bit. ".. I guess its a good thing more pokemon don't learn Spike Cannon. Good try, Kasai!" A flash of red energy retrieves the fallen firefox back into her spherical sanctuary. "Welp, no wonder you're the big boss of Arcade, Emerald."
