Overview

At Multiverse Crisis MUSH, most characters are part of a large organization. This file summarizes those organizations, while the following news files talk about them more in depth. Unaffiliated characters also exist, but are not recommended for first-time applicants. Note that the default assumption is that, if your character is a part of a faction, their world is too. The reverse is not true: Just because your character leaves a faction, doesn't mean your world does.

A WARNING TO INCOMING APPLICANTS: Staff is currently working on a new set of factions, and a TP to facilitate their implementation. At that time these existing factions will be wiped off the board. You can see a preview of upcoming factions on board 12. As of this news file update, the first faction preview is out in the form of The Watch. This will be a long enough time in the coming that you shouldn't delay applications for this, but you should also expect shake-ups from what's currently in this file.

This news file has been blanked, as the information within will soon be largely irrelevant.

The outgoing factions were: The Union (Good Guys) and Confederacy (Bad Guys). While you are still welcome to put an affiliation with these entities in your application as a placeholder until they disappear, you will want to refer to the in-game bboard 12 and consider the incoming factions: The Concord, League, Paladins, and Watch.

The Syndicate will still exist as a default feature rather than a distinct +group, and it is still possible to be Unaffiliated.

The rank system is also being overhauled, and all factions will have the following rank structure:

1. Commanding Officer

2. Executive Officer

3. Officer

4. Member

To be clear: There is no longer such a thing as Ally or derivative ranks. You're either a member and buying into your faction to the minimum required extent, or you're not. More distinct rank names will be used by each faction as well, this is simply the default template.
