Profile

Who is Sombra? Newsagents and bureaus have over the last years reported various cybernetic attacks across the globe, mostly aimed towards politicians, larger industries and governments. That threat has now gone multiversal as the mysterious entity has set her eyes on new targets to use her superior hacking skills and high tech against, places to infiltrate and people to manipulate. It’s a game of cat and mouse as she does what she can to upset the status quo without being found herself. It’s all a challenge to her, and she has a tendency to get too cocky, not to mention she’s unable to resist the urge to mess with people in charge and attempt to unravel their secrets.

Advantages

Defining

Cybernetic graft: Sombra was an infamous hacker even before she got herself a cybernetic graft, a technical implant connected to her brain and spine. After she got it, she can hack anywhere at anytime. With extensions from the graft Sombra can easily interface with various technology by mere touch, though she’s also able to hack things up to ten meters away as long as she has a clear line of sight and is undisturbed during the process. She can create holographic touch screens, able to interact with them like anybody else would a physical computer. Finally, she can also charge up her graft to unleash an EMP charge that affects vulnerable technology near her.

Technical: Technology is Sombra’s friend, and she’s used to working with it, able to fix broken equipment and understand how to reverse engineer it so she can use it if necessary. Information technology is intuitive to her, and she learns easily due to her interest in it. Likewise she has an easy time with tech in general, figuring out how she can use new things without much trouble. Likewise this makes it easier for her to hack. It’s something she truly enjoys, and she takes it as a challenge when she runs into new tech and security systems.

Significant

Invisibility: The cybernetic graft also allows Sombra to turn invisible through thermoptic camouflage for short periods of time, though she can still be heard and be picked up by infrared cameras and heat sensors. If Sombra takes damage the invisibility drops, nor can she remain invisible if she’s attacking somebody or performing a hack.

Translocator: This stolen tech from Winston of the Overwatch is something Sombra relies on quite a bit to get herself out of tight situations. After placing the translocator somewhere it will be stuck to the spot until used. Sombra can then move away from it, and later use her cybernetic graft to interface with it, teleporting herself back to the translocator. The further away Sombra moves from the translocator, the shorter is the time window she can teleport back to the translocator, with a maximum time window of thirty minutes. Certain magical wards and technology, if sufficiently powerful, can prevent Sombra from teleporting with her translocator (OOC: Requires consent if used in such areas).

Athletic: Moving in the shadows and being quiet is something Sombra is used to. She’s agile and quick, able to run without making much sound at all as she moves about. In addition she’s got some parkour skills, able to use the terrain around her to quickly get to where she needs to be.

Minor

Machine Pistol: A modified machine pistol similar to a MP7. It’s relatively small and lightweight, and it gets the job done in a pinch.

Combat training: While she isn't a master combatant, Sombra does know how to punch and kick should she need to. This is mostly used in combination with stealth and hacking, as she will often attempt to disable her opponent by hacking whatever technological advantages they might have, like weapons.

Disadvantages

Troll <Trouble>: Sombra is so confident in her abilities that she tends to be a bit reckless at times. She's pissed off people with her hacking before, not to mention she teases, she can be condescending and in some cases outright enrage people with her behaviour. Her constant urge to mess with people doesn’t make her popular, and her manipulative ways and tendency to break the law will earn her some enemies.

Magic <Significant>: Sombra is outclassed when it comes to people with magical abilities or extraordinary powers. This is partially because her own world is mostly technological, and her own abilities rely on interfering with technology and twisting it to her advantage.

Partial computer <Minor>: With the cybernetic graft set in her brain Sombra is partially a computer herself. Not only would it make her unable to hack effectively should this graft be broken or destroyed, but it can also cause severe injury to Sombra herself in a worst case scenario. Despite having safeguards in place she would still be distracted in such a moment if pressured to focus on keeping her system secure. If her graft were to be broken or destroyed Sombra would be out of commission until getting it repaired or replaced with her supplier, which would take a week considering her need for secrecy in doing so. There’s also the risk of other extremely skilled hackers or technology that can try to hack her.

Hiding <Minor>: When she found the global conspiracy of her world Sombra had to give up her old identity as they also found her. Despite her precautions, she is still somewhat paranoid about the possibility that she can be found by the people who are looking for her. She doesn’t know who they are, so she can’t take any chances. Thereby Sombra does her best to not be noticed by the public at large, sticking to the shadows and laying low as much as possible. It’s okay if people know that there is a Sombra, just as long as they don’t know /who/ Sombra is.
