Synopsis: | Inga and Raha patch things up after the fight against King Moggle Mog. |
Cast of Characters: | N'raha Tia, Inga |
- N'raha Tia has posed:
Well, whether she had been expecting him or not, Raha's found his way back to Inga's place, following yesterday's successful but grueling battle against the Primal Moogle, or whatever the heck Moggle Mog had actually been.
There's still a bandage on his ear, and a popsicle stick as a makeshift splint in order to make sure it's healing in place the correct way, but otherwise he's entirely healed.
There's a hot pot going on the stove near him, as he makes 'what's in the fridge' stew, of basically... well, every leftover veggie and protein Inga had, with a hefty helping of spices.
There hadn't been much talking though, from Raha. Just a presence for his friend.
- Inga has posed:
Inga had returned after the battle to a bath and her bed. She should have gone out with the others to celebrate instead of coming home to be alone and morose...but it just hadn't felt right.
She's been quiet today today, going about her business doing various household chores. She didn't force him out obviously, but she hasn't exactly been engaging either.
Sitting at her loom, she heaves a sudden sigh. "I'm sorry Raha. I've been very poor company," she says, reaching back to try to rub a crick out of her back from hunching over her loom.
- N'raha Tia has posed:
The words seem to jolt Raha out of whatever reverie he'd been in, the sheer placid calm of cooking something simple, filling, and delicious. He looks up from the stewpot, his tail swishing a bit. "Oh. It's fine. I know you've got a lot on your mind, so." A little soft smile. I wanted to be sure you were okay, and to make sure you were having something decent."
Though, the smile doesn't quite reach his eyes all the way. "You did a fantastic job keeping us all going last night, even if Kord decided he was... uh, going to do that."
- Inga has posed:
Inga arches her back, stretching before she gets to her feet, leaving her weaving behind. She looks as though she's making a woven belt of blue and white with a complicated design on the tablet loom. She moves to the kitchen and gets down a loaf of bread to start slicing.
"You know...while I appreciate it, I know you have many friends Raha. You don't need to do....all this," she says, gesturing vaguely with her knife before looking away. "I don't want you hanging around out of pity. You know I'll be alright. I have very little choice in the matter," she adds, unable to keep bitterness from her voice.
At the compliment, she nods. "It is good to be of use. What do you mean? What did he do?" she asks, wondering if she missed something--or if he simply means whatever it was he did that made Mort so angry.
- N'raha Tia has posed:
The comment leaves Raha a little bit confused. "Pity? I... uh." His good ear flicks a bit, before he blinks, and ohs. A deep sigh, and he squats down on his haunches. "Yeah I've got plenty of friends, but you're in need of a few. So. Here I am." The position looks comfortable on him, at least, the feline frame lanky enough to make it work.
"And Inga, it's not pity. Heck, you're one of the few people around here who get what I'm going through. I mean, we've SEEN each other's patron. We See things we're not supposed to. Or shouldn't know." He scratches at his ear, his bad one, and grumps. "I'm not sure where the pity part came in, did I say somethign wrong?" His eyes unfocus a bit as the brawny Warrior digs back into his memory.
- Inga has posed:
Inga puts down her knife, frowning. She's aware she doesn't have many friends at the moment, her lips pursing at the reminder, even if he didn't mean it that way.
She sighs, closing her eyes for a moment. "You didn't say anything wrong. It's simply that I don't know why you would want to hang around with me. I'm not fun. I'm sad, bitter and I think rather boring. I'm accustomed to being solitary and just..." another sigh.
She steps forward. "Stop scratching at your ear," she says, reaching over to adjust the splint, which is easy to do with him crouching down. Her touch is gentle, trying not to cause him more pain. "Another spell aught to do it. You heal quickly too."
- N'raha Tia has posed:
The catman holds still for Inga, leanign his head into her ministrations. "Sorry, doc." A grump and grumble, his tail swishing a bit more. "And..." He purses his lips a bit, as he considers her other statement. He's not moving, she's got a very captive audience and compatirot right now. "...Because even if it's lonely, just having someone else around helps. To have that option."
He can't scratch his hear, so he scratches his neck instead. "To know that you can get up, and someone will be there to listen to a joke you just came up with, or to try this stew you made, or... well. To talk to."
It's not a lecture, he's just... explaining himself. "...If I told you Mother Crystal told me to, would that make you feel any better? Other than 'I feel like it, and I like you?'"
- Inga has posed:
Splint back in order, she leans back against the kitchen counter and listens, looking down, trying to keep her breathing even and calm. She's tired of crying. "It is lonely. But I've gotten used to that. I've fallen into habits, and habit will keep you living, at least. But to do more than that, I'm...scared," she says quietly.
Inga reaches up to tug on her braid, biting the inside of her cheek. "It isn't that I don't appreciate it. I do, truly. I don't need to tell you anything, because you've seen it. That helps. But knowing what you do, too...its hard for me to pretend nothing happened--and maybe that's the only way I can exist."
Inga blinks, looking up to meet his eyes, her brow slightly raised. "/Did/ she tell you to?"
- N'raha Tia has posed:
A slight grin at that one. "No, she didn't. This is all me." He huffs and settles out on the rug, ear fixed, sitting comfortably on his bottom, legs curling under him. "You're worth keeping around, because you're kind and a healer, but also because..." And she gets to the crux of the matter.
"...Who else am I going to pal around with who I don't have to explain 'sometimes I will see your worst inner thoughts an histories, sorry'?" That tail thwacks against the carpet a bit, as he grumps and plants his hand on his chin, leaning into the pose.
"And I asked cause some people seem to think 'oh, it's destiny or something' makes stuff better. I knew you wouldn't see it that way."
- Inga has posed:
Inga looks a bit relieved that he's not here on orders of his goddess for several reasons, but mainly just because it means he does want to be here. It's his choice. She blushes slightly at the compliment and rolls her eyes. "Ah so you keep me around because I can patch you up when you get into scraps," she jokes.
When he talks about the visions, she laughs. It's a good, full laugh. "That is true. People get used to it after a while--if they stick around that long. It is difficult, though, even with people who understand. I....see a lot of things. I see a lot of possible futures, and I have to constantly decide if I should speak of some of the things I have seen, for speaking of it may change everything," she explains. "I'll never know that. It could....have made a difference," she says. She hangs her head for a moment, sighing shakily.
Then she straightens up to turn and get bowls for the stew. They might as well eat.
- N'raha Tia has posed:
Raha smiles a bit and stands up...
But as Inga turns, he plants a hand on her shoulder. "Hey. I can't promise much, but I can tell you you've got a place in any party that I field to handle things, and you know that." A grin, an honest one this time, the smile reachign all the way. "And feel free to intervene however you want with me. You're the one with more experience as a Seer." He ruffles her hair a little bit, and then lets her go get plated up.
- Inga has posed:
Inga is stopped by the hand on her shoulder, pausing to listen, her eyes fixed on his. She smiles softly. "You don't need to promise anything," she informs him. What would he promise?
At his words and the hair-ruffle, she purses her lips as if she's thinking of speaking. A moment passes, but she evidentally decides against it. Embarrassed, she gives him a playful glare as she reaches up to smooth her hair. Now she's going to have to re-braid it!
She does get bowls and plates and everything sorted before they sit. "I think I need to get out of here. Perhaps stay somewhere else for a while. Take a...vacation," she muses while eating. The stew is good, and she compliments him on it as always.
- N'raha Tia has posed:
The catman murmurs. "I am thinking the same, myself." He brushes off his tunic as he tucks in.
Om nom stew. "...Because I think I need to be an Adventurer again. A proper one. All of the rest of the Offworlders have done so much for Eorzea, I feel strange not reciprocating on that." He makes a face at the Urangier sized word, but it came out none the less. "I mean, I'll always be popping back to put out fires, but... I think I need to stretch my legs."
- Inga has posed:
Inga nods in understanding. "I can understand that. There is nothing really to stop you," she says with a shrug. "And...I'm happy to patch you up when you need," she adds.
Inga looks around the dining room, frowning gently. "This is my place...but it was also...our place. Maybe I need a little distance from that," she says, brow furrowing. "...though it hurts to even say it."
- N'raha Tia has posed:
Raha just stays quiet at the Statement for a moment or two. If there's one thing he's not trying to do, it's replace The Wizard. But.
She needs to figure things out. And if he can help wit hthat, he's happy to. He polishes off his stew, and then sets his spoon down, looking across to Inga. "How can I help?"
- Inga has posed:
She doesn't think he's trying to. It's just being surrounded by memories makes it very difficult to get yourself out of a certain mental state. There's a lot to be said for a change of scenery.
There's a short laugh. "Kidnap me and get me into trouble. Adventure," she says, a bit of mischief in her eye. "Or at least a lead on somewhere to take a nice vacation. I have a bit of money now. I could...travel."
- N'raha Tia has posed:
The sparkle is matched. "Done. Give me some time and we'll go get get lost or something." A laugh, and Raha's tail swishes. "That's what got me into this mess in the first plac,e I'm sure we can find something while Auphinaud works out his new Grand Plan with the Alliance." Ugh, politics.
- Inga has posed:
"Interesting things tend to happen when one gets lost. It's a big multiverse and we are very difficult to kill. Let's see what happens," she laughs.
