772/Welcome to Mirkwood
From Multiverse Crisis MUSH
Welcome to Mirkwood | |
---|---|
Date of Scene: | 09 October 2014 |
Location: | Middle Earth |
Synopsis: | A new world has arrived in the multiverse several union personnel and others. Arrive to investigate and they find that the natives are not very friendly. |
Cast of Characters: | Tomoe, 236, 311, 400, Bahamut, 592 |
- Bahamut has posed:
Another world, another new place to explore and possibly offer assistance. But, Bahamut has never been one for low-profile, so the large dragon is flying over the landscape. He is not roaring as he usually would when flying over an area. He does not want to alarm anyone, after all.
Still, a large grey dragon flying around is sure to draw some attention. Especially when it flies low over the treetops to try and see if anyone is around. His wingbeats would be easily heard and the wind he kicks up would rustle the leaves strongly, alerting anyone below the canopy to his presense.
- Nasrin (400) has posed:
It was a strange land, gloomy and dark. Nasrin had found herself inadvertantly transported here by a warp gate malufunction, and as she stood in the gloom of the trees, sunlight filtering down through the canopy of leaves overhead.
Pulling her hood down slowly, she looked around herself, unsure of the location she's found herself in.
And she lifted her her hand to speak on her radio --
When the leathery flapping of great wings catches her attention, and quick as she can, she scales a tree, disappearing into the leaf cover.
- Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe was prone to just going out for a flight and exploring this was one of those times. She was curious after all and the Salamander was far bolder in this state than her other form so she didn't thin much of it as she neared the strange woods as she kept to the air for the moment she looked down at the woods and debated exploring on foot. She'd be hard to miss though an armored woman that had transluent red wings is kinda hard to miss after all
- Auron (236) has posed:
Exploring a new area is best done with as minimal risk as possible. For Auron, that means doing his exploring by proxy. And 'by proxy', one means of course as Stial, his Alfheim Online avatar. He looks much different than he usually does here; though his build is similar, he seems trimmer and leaner, and his hands have clawed fingernails. Thick silver hair spikes up like a mane, but is still long enough to be wrapped with a beige ribbon. Those cat ears are distinct and unmistakeable, though, as are those yellow-gold, slit-pupiled eyes.
Rather than flying, he's using the trees to free-run, his speedier form allowing this easily. Cait Sith can wall-run, after all; jumping through trees that grow this close together shouldn't be too terribly hard. Even if he had to literally run up the tree to get to a place he could free-run.
- Thranduil (592) has posed:
The Silvan Elves have been on alert since the sky suddenly started showing different stars, throwing off their charts and scrolls. There are scouts hidden in the trees, armed with bows, others armed with daggers. When Bahamut flies overhead, an alarm is sounded and they leap into action, running into the trees and firing arrows. Those running through the trees would be met with those scouts, aiming their bows at them as they speak in their native language. "Who are ou? Stay where you are."
Those on the ground will be met with large creepy spiders, driven from the trees by the Silvan Elves and the newcomers. It is obvious this forest isn't very friendly, and its residents are apprehensive toward outsiders.
- Nasrin (400) has posed:
%R
Nasrin is confronted with an elf. She narrows her eyes, and feels a wrenching pull at her stomach as she splays her fingers.
"I'm a traveler from without this wood and I am lost." she answers truthfully, keeping her hood pulled down over her face.
- Auron (236) has posed:
In the trees, Auron is also confronted by an elf. With a bow and arrow. Thankfully, due to the translation effect, Auron can understand the speech. Unfortunately, he can't exactly pull the 'I just got lost' card here, because he's quite obviously not human in this form. However, if this strange, pointy-eared, not-a-Guado kills him, he won't die forever. Thank the Fayth for respawn points!
However, he is /not/ suicidal enough to attack. Yet. He offers, quietly, "My name is Auron. This world has just unified into the Multiverse, and we were merely exploring, to see what sorts of threats we might expect." Trust Auron to break right through to the heart of the matter.
- Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe was not expecting hostile locals she really wasn't as the arros start c0oming her way she starts trying to evade the arrows she can't seem to evade all of those. She takes a hit an the arroe embed it self in one of her lighter armoured locations causing a strnge red deformatiy as Tomoe's force to try and dive for the trees so she can get somewhere she can /pull/ it out. This might also bring her into contact with the ones in the trees as well.
"...hostiles... lovely."
- Bahamut has posed:
Bahamut is hit by arrows, bringing out a roar that he had been holding in. But, above the trees he can't see who is firing on him, so he makes his way over to the edge of the woods before coming in to land. He roars out a challenge, spreading his wings wide and baring his claws. "Come and face me then! You dare attack Bahamut, the king of dragons and Aeon of Bevelle? If you do not show yourselves, it is within my power to level this forest!"
Apparently he missed the group of Union folk going in. He was flying around over the forest, after all.
- Thranduil (592) has posed:
So the intruders seem to all be confronted with Elves. They are all clad in outfits that blend in with the trees, their hair the darker end of the spectrum ranging from red to black. The one with Auron just tilts his head. He has no idea what he's talking about. The others with Nasrin and Tomoe are adamant on taking them prisoner.
"Mani uma lle merna? (What do you want?)Mankoi naa lle sinome? (Why are you here?)" While they try to get Nasrin, Auron and Tomoe out of the trees, floods of Elves pour out of the trees and head toward Bahamut, dressed in their battle armor, carrying swords, daggers, bows and spears. One Elf stands out against the others. Not only is his armor flashier than the others, a polished steel rather than a gold color, and his hair is nearly white. He walks in front of his army, his stark blue eyes narrowed at the dragon. "I will give you one opportunity to tell me why you have invaded these lands. If you fail to convince me, prepare to face the army of the Nandor." The army is oddly quiet, allowing the sound of Thranduil drawing his sword to be heard prominently and held out at his side.
- Nasrin (400) has posed:
Nasrin's not keen on moving from her position. she keeps her hands splayed, and as the dragon calls out, she quietly curses to herself, and points upwards. "I'm not with him; but I know beyond your green forests he accompanies a force of good known as the Union; take me to your elders before the situation grows out of control and your forests /and/ his allies burn."
And she raises her wrist, pulling back a sleeve to show a bracelet with a little box on it. "If there are those facing the natives in this dark wood, be at peace. I suspect they are as much on edge as we are."
- Auron (236) has posed:
Uh-oh. Auron sees what's going on with Bahamut as he's being ushered out of the tree. However, instead of merely climbing down, he jumps off the branch, catching himself on a pair of ethereal, yellow wings and preventing a nasty, probably quite deadly fall. He flies over to where Bahamut is, hoping to go over the heads of the elves and land so that he can stand at the Aeon's side. He's not attacking, no. But he's moved to defend.
Still, he tries, "We are not here to battle or to invade. We are here to explore, and only that. Nothing else. Let's try to calm down, everyone, and talk this out like rational people."
- Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe looks at them for a moment if she was on her own she's just fight but narsin seems is going to not fight it unless hte other doe she doesn't go for her blade and she looks at them understanding what they said.
"I am Exploring, this forest wasn't here the last time I came through the rgion I chose to come explore just what had changed here."
- Lupita Auryon (311) has posed:
And what does complete chaos with HOSTILE ELVES and CONFUSED UNION MEMBERS and A DRAGON really need?
.. Certainly not a seven foot tall alien killing machine riding on the back of a Cat-Wolf-Bastard thing the size of an african elephant busting in on the scene chasing after a -REALLY HONKING BIG- Rabbit.
SURPRISE! MORE CHAOS!
"We almost got it, dad!" Lupita crows happily as she clings to the backof the wolf, "Always fuckin' know that hunting in weird new wood places would mean GREAT NEW FOOD!"
Yeah, no, feel free to facepalm.
The Lusus certainly will soon enough.
- Bahamut has posed:
Bahamut stands tall as the army rushes out to him. He grins lightly before folding his arms over his chest and folding his wings in, trying to present a less intimidating and a more regal impression. "I have not invaded these lands, sir. I came across your world while exploring, and curiousity got the better of me. I intended no harm to you and your friends. As I said, I am Bahamut. I am part of a group of good people who collectively call themselves the Union. When first meeting, I believe it is common courtesy to give your name."
Bahamut looks over the army as he talks. It looks strong. He is sure he could take them, but...
"I would rather not cause any harm to you or your people if it can be avoided." the large dragon says.
- Thranduil (592) has posed:
"I have no reason to offer common courtesy to a dragon who has invaded our lands." Thranduil speaks loud enough to be heard by all. "All of you will come with me. Resist and face the blades of the Nandor." The lines of the army shift as the tall blonde man walks toward the others. "I know nothing about this Union. If you are referring to the Free Peoples, I have no interest. We must leave this area now lest we attract the most unsavory of creatures."
The Elves in the trees try to get them down, not interested in talking. The one with Nasrin is a bit rougher than the others, an archer with long red hair with the sides pulled back in braids.
The Elvenking reaches the open area just past the army when Lupita arrives and the scouts and archers are suddely all over, keeping their weapons trained on her but not certain what to do just yet.
- Nasrin (400) has posed:
"/Don't/ touch me." Nasrin growls, deep in her throat, and she goes along with the orders, keeping her fingers splayed. NEvermind those gauntlets on her arms. But at least she's not been robbed of her weapons yet -- she's made no move to arm herself or any hostile intents known.
- Bahamut has posed:
Bahamut growls lightly at Thranduil, then snorts in annoyance. "I am not sure I will fit in those trees." he says, but makes no attempt to resist the elves. "I am not referring to these Free People. Your world, my friend, has just become...quite a bit smaller." he says as he stomps his way along, escorted by the army. "And you would do well to recognize who is a friend, and who is a threat. But, I suppose you cannot help being afraid when presented with someone like me."
When they get beneath the trees, Bahamut finally notices others. He does not recognize them, but they too seem to be in his situation.
- Auron (236) has posed:
Auron frowns. "This has nothing to do with any 'free people'," he confirms. "This is to do with dealings outside your world. There are more worlds outside this one. We all come from outside your world, each with worlds of our own. I say again, we were /exploring/. Nothing more."
- Lupita Auryon (311) has posed:
Obliviousness, thy name is Purpleblood.
Lupita is so intent on the rabbit that when her dad suddenly skids to a halt in the dirt at MANY ARMED STRANGE LOOKING PEOPLE-CREATURES that the troll is actually FLUNG FORWARD off the giant-ass lusus and to the ground with a snarling yelp of surprise as she rolls head over arse, landing flat on her stomach. Scuffedup, but, her chitonous skin is harder to wound than a fall off the back of a SPEEDING MONSTROCITY can cause. She shakes her head as she slowly picks herself up. "By the waterbitch's salty teats, what the -everfuck- was THAT, Dad?" Lupita keens annoyedly, before lifting her head to find.. a.. wall of.. Wow, angry looking... ".. Elves?" Lupita asks, with a blink.
"...The hell did I wind up in a bloody Keebler ad, and where are the fudge cookies?"
Behind her, the stark white monster of HULKING FUR whines, and plants a paw against his snout. See? Told you the lusus would be facepalming.
- Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe does not go for her weapons he looks at them and she remians polite for the moment.
"The world got a whole lot bigger since you ended up here. There's a lot to learn and I'm not seeking trouble."
She does does not make hostile acts but nor does the over six foot tall woman seem bothered by the threats of force.
- Thranduil (592) has posed:
"Other lands are not my concern. My only concern is what comes into my kingdom as a threat. Anyone passing through these woods is considered a threat." He sweeps his ornate sword through the air, keeping his senses sharp. "Let us go. Now." He sheathes the sword and begins walking toward a pathway, the army turning to follow. The Silvan Elves try to get the others to come with them. Thranduil seems to have no care for their explainations of merely exploring. "You may have just been exploring, but you have set foot in my kingdom. Do you not obey the rules of the land you are exploring?"
- Auron (236) has posed:
"This presumes we knew them to obey them," Auron replies. Yes, he's rather cross. But at this point he's not eager to start attacking things. Thus he follows without further complaint. But the words of this strange not-Guado pretty much confirms to him that there's no getting this one to listen. The best that can be hoped for, he figures, is for all of them to get out of this with their hides intact, and then just never come here again.
- Bahamut has posed:
Bahamut growls again at that. "I had not set foot in your lands until you -fired- upon me!" he says, a bit annoyed. "Do you always attack first and ask questions later?" he rumbles, finding these elves less and less tolerable. "I obey the laws of the land, so long as those laws are reasonable. So long as those laws are just." he says.
Bahamut continues to walk along with the group, trying his best not to damage trees. At 15 feet tall and somewhere between two tons and three, the dragon can easily accidentally cause some damage. "This land must be troubled if you treat each other with such distrust. Do you greet those from your land in the same way? With arrows and swords?" Bahamut says.
- Lupita Auryon (311) has posed:
Looking across the pan of Elves, Lupita slowly stands up, and shifts slightly uncomfortably on her booted feet, looking at them all. "... Okay, like, surrusly, dudes," She says, "I can all up and explain. We didn't know we wasn't like, in just, wild wood areas, yo. Me and dad was just hungry," she gestures at the large wolf, "And we decided to go hunting. Ain't no marks around here that we could see what makese these woods belong to no one, yo. At least not that we could all up and understand. So it's like, all up and a mistake, huh?" She offers as nice a smile as she can.
Lupita's 'nice' smile could give the baby jegus nightmares with all the fangs.
"So uh, we'll, just, all up and get our groove on and get out a'here, yeah. And uh, maybe them other folks could go, too, a'seen' as ain't none of them tried to hurt you fine elfy motherfuckers none, and they have a- Holy shit they have a DRAGON, and you guys have -bows and arrows-, really, y'all are so totally outnumbered it ain't funny man.."
The Troll is now holding her hands up in a semi-universal gesture of 'calm your tits boyos'.
- Nasrin (400) has posed:
Oh, hey, she knows that voice, but... not that Form. Nasrin stays quiet as she's group with the others.
"Those of us who came here by happenstance have little reason to know your laws; ignorance begs forgiveness and release." she points out. She walks with a quick step, ahead of her red-headed captor. "Surely you've noticed your skies are not the same, nor the winds above the canopy of your trees; the very people who you have gathered here come from myriad places and times ourselves -- what's his name?" she turns, looking to the redhead. "Who do I address?" Where /does/ he get his hair done?
- Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe keeps quiet for a moment and says "You seem to think we knew you were here or were aware of your nations laws when it was not evne located here the last time I came through here. It was a plain with nothinf remarkable. I was also flying over head."
She takes a moment to grit her teeth and rip the arrow out, there's no blood just a strange red glow which slowly knits itself back to looking like cloth and flesh.
- Thranduil (592) has posed:
"You are a dragon." Thranduil says coldly. "You are fortunate you were not slain for coming anywhere near these woods." To the others, Thranduil turns, his long hair whipping around his shoulders. "I know not what land you come from, but you have entered Mirkwood." He trains his eyes on Nasrin, his gaze a bit hollow but reflecting the fear gripping his heart. "Yes, we have noticed the stars are not the same. We are attempting to determine the cause."
The elf next to Nasrin whispers "He is King Thranduil." while his fabulous hair blows gently in the breeze.
"Stop speaking." A scout growls at Lupita, jabbing at her with his spear. "You are being escorted into the kingdom of Mirkwood, the Halls of the Elvenking."
Auron's Elf just tries to roughly shove him along. "Thaurer (abombinable one)" He growls, "What are you?"
Thranduil tries to look as patient as possible as he listens to Tomoe. "So you all have poor manners and simply enter one's home unannounced and then become indignant when you are confronted by the guards?" Bahamut is given the evil eye again, a burning look in his eyes as if he wanted to thrust his sword right through the dragon's neck. "Are you one of the fire drakes from Angmar? I have slain many of your kind. Cross me and you will join them."
- Lupita Auryon (311) has posed:
Yeah, okay, Lupita was willing to play nice until a spear was jabbed at her, and then she frowns. Now, up until this point, she HAS been slouching. She's almost always slumping over, or slouching, or slightly crouched anyway, it's, just her nature. But when she's jabbed at with a spear - and oh, hey, that DOES manage to scrape her chiton and make her bleed a little, purple man, who knew - she frowns, and suddenly rises up to her full height, and utters a slightly raspy growl. "Hey now, you don't got to go pokin' at me with no stick. I ain't going' no fuckin' where I don't wanna go, buddy," she says, as she reaches for the spear and attempts to yank it out of the guy's hand. "This ain't no Disney Thank and you can't be all up smackin' people with no sticks to make them Hakuna Matata or whatever,"
The wolfbeast utters an uncertain whine, but then stepsup behind his charge, looking over her shoulder at the elves. Really, he doesn't want trouble, but if they make him, he WILL defend the troll.
- Nasrin (400) has posed:
Nasrin has had quite enough.
"We came here unknowing! Hear me, King Thranduil!" she breaks forward, and ightly steps, leaving after-images in her wake. She spreads her arms out to try and block Thranduil's path.
"I am called Nasrin bint Hadir al'Halabi. I have traveled through the stars on ships made of metal and glass, I have bested the dead and until this day I've never met one with such grand /ears/ who chooses to ignore. If one steps into a farmer's field without knowing, you beg forgiveness and carry on aside the field. If it is information you require, I would gladly give it, all that I know of the lands and stars that lay beyond this realm, but it is an insult to travelers who came unknowing to accuse us, confront us, and then threaten back to us."
She keeps her hood lowered, her Eagle Sight activating, trying to discern if the good King means her harm.
"However, I will not go quietly when accussed of tresspassing, even if it is by a King."
- Auron (236) has posed:
"A digital avatar," Auron replies to the elf who shoved him. He's remaining polite... ish. For now. Though he pauses when he realizes the word 'digital' might not carry over. Also, this might be a way to show them that they're dealing with things they might not be ready for. "I am a... an illusory avatar of myself. I am elsewhere."
- Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe is feeling more than frustated at this point, then Narsin seems to get an idea. She looks at the Elf for a moment and she look to Auron and nearly says something undiplomatic, ugg why did it have to end up like this? She looks at Tharanduil for a long moment before she says. "I am Tomoe the Iron Lily I have fought my way out of world where dream was made flesh and many were held hostage by a mand man. I have wandered the barrier between the dream and what is real. I came not seeking to instult I only ask for forgivness if you wish it I will debat an you will never see me again."
- Bahamut has posed:
Bahamut snorts again. "We were not simply confronted. We were attacked. WITHOUT PROVOCATION!!" That last part is pretty much a roar. But still, the dragon makes no hostile action. "If you would imprison us simply for wandering unknown into your land, so be it. But, if you continue to poke and prod us, you will find you and your army facing the wrath of a dragon king. I am no mere whelp easily dispatched by a blade or an arrow."
Bahamut continues to follow, but he is starting to take note of the elves' numbers and positions. "As I said, I wish no harm on your people. I am but a traveller in your land. However, I am a protector of mine. Try not to delay me too long, or the deaths of innocent people that follow will be on your hands."
- Thranduil (592) has posed:
The soldiers turn and aim their weapons at Bahamut. He isn't much bigger than the pudgy drakes that laze about the hot springs in the western section of Angmar. Thranduil turns awa y from Nasrin for just a moment, barking "Haute!". The army immediately lowers their weapons, then he looks back to Nasrin. "You speak in terms we do not understand. All of Middle Earth knows the dangers that lurk in the forests. Fangor, Mirkwood, The Old Forest...they are all wrought with the servants of evil. We have no way of knowing who is friend and who is foe. If your intentions for coming here were pure, my scouts would not have found you in the trees. How is it you do not know the rules of entering our lands?" The Elf with Tomoe frowns. "What are ou talking about? he hisses.
When Lupita makes a move, the army closes in around her, forming a hollow circle to entrap everone. Thranduil draws his sword once again and immediately points it at Lupita. "Take her to the dungeons." But then the dragon grabs his attention. "Away with you, foul worm, or I shall see to it that your head is mounted and , displayed for all to see."
- Nasrin (400) has posed:
"Then it stands to reason that if we are true and did not know the dangers of this land, then we could be from outside of it." Nasrin states. "So this place is called Middle Earth. I come from an Earth as well, a country called Egypt -- a land of vast desert sands and a single thread of blue-green. Your majesty, my intent was not to come here, but another world entirely. You are undoubtably wise, old to have known some great trees when they were saplings--"
Nasrin produces her short blade, and she puts it against the tip of the King's sword.
"Be at peace. None here mean you harm, else the wrath of such a sky-beast would have been visited upon you and turned these trees to torches."
- Bahamut has posed:
Bahamut does not seem worried at all when those elves turn on him again. "We come from lands beyond your Middle Earth. Beyond this entire planet. You had best get used to people like us appearing. People like you are sure to draw a lot of attention, and with your attitude you are likely to end up with enemies much more dangerous than those you are familiar with."
Bahamut takes a deep breath, then looks around at the others before back at the king. "You have no reason to believe us, but tell me, do we look like people from your world? Like dragons from your world? Have you seen such clothing or weapons or..." He turns around and gestures to the large golden gyro that is floating atop his back. "...one of these?" He turns forward again, then sighs. "If that does not convince you that we are from outside of your world, I am not sure what will."
He watches Nasrin, but seems unsure of the wisdom of drawing a weapon on the king of elves.
- Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe looks at them and politely replies.
"Your lands were not here the universe broke or haven't you say noticed things likt the length of the day, how far you can jump or even the stars changing without warning? Or trangets like myselfg have you really seen anything like me before?"
Her wings flare into exisanbta as if to prove the point. Soon they are now encitlce with what happend to Lupita. She knows the troll is a friend of Arthur and is a hell of a mess here.
"How about we all leave even our friend with the horns? We'll not trouble you again."
